The double-high-ceilinged dining hall is not just the canteen, but also the hub which interconnects all of the school's functions. This makes the dining hall the gathering point where pupils can meet across the school's many activities.

Fascinating woman! She lived to 109 and was buried on Inis Mór, where she was born, remarried and lived a large chunk of her life. She was a nurse and also wrote memoirs which were published in the late nineties.

Faceted concrete staircase connects a string of social spaces inside the campus building for the New School in New York, visible outside the building through huge diagonal windows.
Social areas, dubbed "sky quads", are interspersed throughout the building to provide areas where can staff and students can interact, whether relaxing between classes or working on group projects.
