Man I love being really fucking angry and not being able to do much about it. (everything else below the cut, copy-pasted because there's no way in hell I'm rewriting this. You're welcome for the wall of text)

I'm so goddamn angry, why do we have to be so goddamn angry lately? Oh I know, a month straight of being behind in work, all because we got sick or some bullshit, I don't even remember now! But no, now we've got an exam on Monday, and someone told us this morning that a pseudo-grandparent of ours who we haven't seen in years died last week. So that's great! Throw another thing on top of the pile, why don't you, yeah just see how much we can stand before we break knowing that it's only one more week til the term's over.

I can't even brute force my way through it, that's not how that works, I'm left fucking angry at our brain and our body for not being able to do what we need to do despite having all the will in the world to do it.

These last couple weeks have felt like a slice of eternity, it's just math math math, more math, math math, just two more assignments then you'll be caught up, oh hey look you have a biology lecture to go to at 8:30 in the morning and then pass out when you get home, now it's time to do math again except you can't, go to the tutoring center, get something worked out in five minutes that you'd been working on for five hours, go back home, math math math, nap, math math, have a fucking breakdown, turn in homework and see you only have two more assignments, do some math and more math, stare at the unfolded laundry that's been sitting there for weeks now, math math math, turn in homework, check your grades and see that you have two more assignments, remember to hydrate oh look you have hobbies remember those hobbies? Yeah I remember those hobbies, good fucking luck engaging with them though, because guess what, you have more math to do! Except no, now someone's overloaded in the system and you have to deal with that, have fun staring at your graph paper wondering how the hell to do any of this for the next hour, do more math now that you've realized you only have two more assignments, do more math, do you think you can go to the protest this weekend? No? Well either way you'll hear about horrible things every single day, often at times when you're just trying to do stuff like eat. Do more math though, only two more assignments. Have you noticed the days kind of bleed together lately? No you don't, or at least you won't for a while because you keep switching and dissociating from it so good luck trying to bring anything about this up in therapy. Remember to work on math and get that assignment done though. Math math math, shower, eat, more math, dream about having calculator issues, think about your best friend who you'll never see again and doesn't even exist here, switch out to someone who doesn't have that problem, do more math, get distracted by the fact that holy shit you're a husband now! Isn't that great! Gotta do more math first though because you only have a couple more to go. Kiss your spouse. Comfort the kid you take care of. Plan birthday presents for him and his brothers. Stare at the laundry. Contemplate folding the laundry but don't. Pack up your bag, unpack your bag, find the chargers, put away your cane, get out the calculator and the computer and the graph paper and the notebook and the math textbook and the pencil bag. Do this problem, check it, you got it wrong, go over it, triple check, you can't find a problem, do it again, do it again, check it, you got it wrong, go get a cup of coffee instead. Check it again and oh look there's the solution, that wasn't so hard was it. Only thirty more, and two more of that before you're caught up. Remember to stay caught up on how people were tortured today and you couldn't stop them. Hydrate. Stretch. Keep your body in okay condition. Do some more math, watch Columbo or X Files while you're at it, get some dopamine from that and almost feel normal again. Dance in the hallway while you're at it, dance like no one's watching because they aren't, have fun! Have you worked on math lately? Hey by the way this friend who relies on you in some ways is bpd splitting on you and you need to talk with her for a couple hours to make sure she doesn't drink too much and knows you love her, oh by the way did you hear that so-and-so died and you never got to see him again since the last time you went to that church in 2020? You can deal with that later though, you've got math to do and it's already 11 in the morning, you've really got to get a move on now, just get the calculator and the computer and the pencil bag and the headphones and the charger and the math textbook and the notebook out and get started, you're only two assignments behind and the end of the term is only a week away just like it has been for the last. four. weeks.

okay, but putting aside the comedic aspect of this, it is concerning the amount of people who are prompted to vote for candidates just because it's funny. I'm not the biggest fan of how his policy about the boarder sounds [Site], but I do implore anyone who is able to vote in the 2024 US election to please research other candidates.

I see a lot of meta talking about how the John Verses are John telling the story of the leadup to the apocalypse with the most sympathetic biased self-justifying gloss to make it sound like nothing was his fault, and I guess that's why so many readings go for a hardline worst-faith interpretation of them, but.... I don't really see it.

When he tells about how he murdered everyone who had a gun, he could have played up the self-defense angle. He could have claimed he was scared, and he did it to protect everyone. He could have emphasized that he was killing cops, instead of emphasizing the civilians. He could have stuck with the story he told at the time, that he freaked out and made a mistake and hadn't meant to kill them all. He doesn't. He admits to mass murder, and he admits to having done it because he was angry. And he admits to still not regretting it one bit.

The story John tells just doesn't paint him in the best possible light. He does include all of the justifications he used at the time, he does explain why on earth any of this ever seemed like a good idea to anyone, and he does want to be understood, but he doesn't really try to sell it as having been right.

I really don't see the verse chapters as being John's justification. They're his confession. That's why they feel so good to condemn.

I know Bill's the big bad demon everyone is afraid of and he will protect his husband at all costs (when no one's looking), but I think it's also worth mentioning that Dipper, even being the dorky, squishy human that he is, also cares about his dumb demon hubby and wants to keep him safe, even if it annoys Bill, and really, he doesn't need protecting the way Dipper does. He isn't going to puff out his chest and get in someone's face like some macho man, but I think Dipper knee-jerk reaction when Bill's in "danger" isn't to just shrug because he's an all-powerful demon who can handle it. If a blast that could level a whole town was aimed at Bill's head (for him, this just means a bad hair day and a new body), Dipper's immediate impulse is to push him out of the way or defend him against whatever wants to kill his familiar. Because he's not thinking "Bill could literally end this match in .3 seconds." He's thinking "if you touch even one hair on that asshole's head, I'm going to knock yours clean off your shoulders." I don't know what the point even is in this post, just that Dipper is this nerdy, unassuming guy who ends up being viciously protective under the right conditions. Like I think Dipper pulls off the bloody and vengeful look SO well that Bill immediately melts and just lets him handle the situation, even though it's not really Dipper's fight to begin with. He's beating the guy to a pulp with zero reserve, and Bill's off to the side swooning and twirling his hair over his man for getting his hands dirty for him.

It's true! While Bill's not the type to enjoy being underestimated, he has to admit! Seeing his adorable husband all riled up on his behalf is a hell of a sight.

The thing is, Dipper's a good guy! He can't help but put himself in danger over others. Even when all reason and logic say that Bill would be absolutely fine if he got his head exploded or a shiv in his kidney, Dipper's instinct is to fully and immediately get in the way of that. To, in fact, be protective.

Mostly this is only evident when Dipper has to stand up to Ford. Yes, yes, Bill's a vile horrible monstrosity, but he didn't do that particular thing you're accusing him of. Watching him stand up to his uncle is a particular treat!

For bigger threats, though - Well. Bill's gonna be absolutely fine, no matter what happens, thank you very much. But he's definitely not opposed to seeing some guy who was about to literally stab him in the back get a few of his teeth knocked out.

My knowledge of Vtubers starts and stops with Kizuna Ai. The only reason I know of most big VTubers is because I genuinely am fascinated in the way model rigging works and because two singers I followed YEARS ago are now Vtubers (AmaLee and Bao The Whale)

With that being said, watching Nijisanji make the biggest PR mistake of their life over the past week has been the funniest shit ever. Like GODDAMN. I have learned more about the financial instability of this one company in three days than I ever have since the dawn of Vtubers. I have never been interested Vtubers before (aside from the two mentioned above cause I watched them when I was like 14), this situation alone has made me want to consume so much VTuber material.

Winter's Child QITN Sansa again! (As a WIP, of course)

The fun part about procreate is that I can go absolutely fucking hog wild with insane details the way my little tacky heart desires and then just... vanish the layer. Anyways, I'm wildly happy with how the icicles turned out, but have yet to scratch the surface of the overly detailed design possibilities. I learned how to make brushes in procreate and made a bead brush so that I could play around with different jewelry/adornment stuff quickly and it has gotten SPECTACULARLY out of hand. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the different designs I've played with so far!

had the thought 'it might be interesting to also collect a cicada nymph before it can molt and keep it as a wet specimen' and then immediately the concept of a cicada quietly growing underground for thirteen years to finally, finally emerge into the world only to get killed and put in a jar before it ever has a chance to stretch its wings just because some idiot thought it'd be neat nearly made me cry

#'jay aren't you gonna eat them' yeah #it's different #the main reason I stopped collecting insects after DJ and I broke up is that I get Weird about it #it's a weird... like. so vulnerable species notwithstanding #one thing about bugs in an ecosystem is that they're highly abundant and-- on an individual basis-- disposable #they lay a zillion eggs because they're getting eaten (or just stepped on even) by every other goddamn thing alive #in general my sincere belief is that a hobbyist with an insect collection is literally fine #but on a PERSONAL level because I'm not A Scientist and I know my personal desire for an insect collection comes down to 'they're pretty'-- #feels weird. feels bad! feels like a bad reason to kill something even if killing that specific thing isn't measurably harmful to do #same way I feel about people killing spiders when I JUST SAID I would take care of it #like... okay there are a zillion other grass spiders where that came from but YOU are still a dickhead for doing that for no reason #ANYWAY.
