Idk if you're taking requests but I really loved your Murdock one and wanted to request one, where Murdock's S/O has an ex that's a really bad person(do whatever you want). Like they meet in public and Y/N is uncomfy but playing it off, Murdock picks up on it?

I’m so sorry this took so long to finish!

You and Murdock had gone out shopping for your weekly groceries, you hanging around the produce while Murdock had stepped away to look at the wine. You weren’t paying attention to what was happening around you, too preoccupied with looking over bananas trying to decide if you wanted to try and make banana bread or not, so when you felt someone standing close to you, you just assumed it was your boyfriend, that was until the person spoke and you felt your blood running cold.

“Hey there, Y/N,” Your Ex said “it’s been a while hasn’t it?”

“What do you want?” You asked trying to keep your voice steady as you put the food you were holding into the cart

“What, can’t I stop and say hi?”

“No,” You said trying to push past him, only to have him grab your cart to keep you from moving it “please just go away”

“Sweetheart,” Murdock called out as he walked over to you, carrying your favorite bottle of wine “do we need a new corkscrew?”

“No,” You said as he placed the bottle into the cart “I just got us a new one last time I went shopping”

“Who’s this?” Murdock asked, eyeing your ex through his sunglasses

“No one” You said, Murdock wrapping an arm around your shoulder “I think we have everything”

“Alright” Murdock said, keeping his eyes on your ex for as long as he could without having to turn his head

Even though your ex was no longer within either of your eyesights Murdock had taught himself to be 100% aware of his surroundings at all times so he knew your ex was following you through the store and that he was watching both of you as you walked out to the car. The ride home was quiet neither one of you speaking to the other; you not wanting to talk about what had happened between you and your ex while Murdock had gotten enough information just from how you were behaving around him.

The next few days were normal, Murdock assuming that the interaction with your ex was a one and done thing, that was until he took the trash out one night and he saw that someone had been messing with the lock on your back door. The scratches weren’t bad so he thought that maybe whoever tried to break in may have just been drunk and mistaken your house for theirs, but he still made sure to look up and down the street to check for cars when he took the bags to the trash can. Since you didn’t have many neighbors any car on the street would stick out like a sore thumb as everyone either parked in their driveway or garage. He didn’t see anyone so he went around to the front of the house to check on the main door, which also had marks on it so he knew that this couldn’t have been anything other than someone trying to break in.

Going back inside, Murdock gave you a kiss on the temple as he passed you on his way to the attic to look for anything useful. All he was able to find was a pair of old video cameras that were small enough for him to be able to easily hide by the front and back doors. When he was certain that the camera’s were well hidden and working he joined you on the couch, wrapping an arm around you so he could pull you into his side. He wasn’t worried about someone successfully breaking into the house as he’d bought top of the line locks, security chains, and he even got custom made bug screens for the first floor, that was made of a much thicker metal than normal, but he did keep you in the dark about it.

Literally that night he got video of your ex trying to break into the house and he instantly felt his blood boil; wanting nothing more than to go out and find the bastard to put an end to him, but he stayed patient waiting to see if a pattern would emerge. There was none as he tried to find a way to break into your house every night, the only thing that changed was the time. Now that he was sure that he had enough information Murdock put a plan together. He made sure to spend the entire day with you at home, making you breakfast in bed, having a movie marathon with you in the living room, and helping you make dinner before ending the night with a candlelit bubble bath. The two of you relaxed in the tub together sharing a glass of wine, slipping a crushed up sleeping pill into yours.

It took a bit but eventually the pill started taking effect and he helped you get out of the tub before getting you to bed; tucking you under the covers before getting to work setting up his trap. He went downstairs to make sure the chain had been left unlatched from the front door and that the house was pitch black before waiting in the living room. It took a few hours but eventually he heard commotion by the back door followed by cursing and the sound of stomping going around the house to the front door, the lock clicking open.

“Finally,” Your ex grumbled letting himself in

As quietly as he could Murdock got to his feet, creeping up behind your ex as he looked around the darkness in search of the steps.

“Goddammit where are they?”

“I wouldn’t worry about them” Murdock said, pressing his gun into your ex’s back “let’s go for a walk”

“What’re you gonna do,” Your ex chuckled, as they started walking “kill me?

“I am and I can promise you that I won’t make it quick”

“Oh” Your ex said as the reality of what was happening slowly dawned on him

“Open the door” Murdock said once they got to the basement door, not even waiting for it to be fully opened before he kicked your ex down the steps

“Murdock?” You asked, standing at the top of the staircase. He had only given you half a pill so the sound of a body falling down the steps was enough to rouse you from your sleep, though you were still very groggy “where are you?”

“I’ll be up in a second, sweetheart” Murdock called out, clicking the padlock he’d installed on the basement door shut

There was absolutely no way out of the basement once the door was locked shut and from the sound of the tumble he’d just taken he probably wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon. Stopping by the kitchen sink he got himself a glass of water before going to join you back in bed.

“Where’d you go?” You asked once Murdock was laying in bed with you

“Just needed a drink” Murdock said as you rested your head on his chest

“What was that noise then?” You asked, snuggling into him

“I tripped over the coffee table” Murdock sighed

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah. I’m sorry I woke you up, go back to sleep” Murdock said, kissing the top of your head
