I know it's been said before. But. How annoying is it that I am happier and more in love with life when I go to bed on time, and wake up early, and go for walks, and when my carpet has been recently vacuumed and my bathroom counter is clean, and I spend time reading books from my appallingly large tbr pile. AND FURTHERMORE, that my face looks better when I actually follow my skincare routine every day, and my clarinet sounds better when I practice more often!
And YET. I fritter away so much of my day in which I could be doing any of these objectively good things for myself looking at my stupid phone and scrolling social media, an objectively bad thing for myself.
(This post brought to you by someone who caved to pressure and downloaded threads today and also vacuumed her apartment and guess which one both took less time and also brought her more joy???)
(The cleaning!! It was the cleaning!! I actually don't need to know what people I don't know in real life are saying on another Twitter clone! Do I enjoy reading the tweets/threads/blueskies(?) of the like 3 public figures I'm still following on those platforms? Yes! Is it like. Worth it though? No!!)

F-14 FUN FACT OF THE DAY #18
VF-114 The Fighting Aardvarks were renowned in Miramar as being the most obnoxious squadron flying the F-14 Tomcat because of their orange flight suits.
One of the pilots from the squadron said if you wore the orange flight suit, you have to stick together with your squadron mates because there’s safety in numbers. More often than not, pilots requested to go to any squadron other than the Aardvarks and their CO would respond with “Congratulations, you’re going to the Aardvarks!”
Note that the green portions in the images below is their antigravity suits/g-suits. The flight suit itself is entirely orange.

Good Omens Episode 3
I still don’t know why y’all are interested in this, but it’s more popular than anything I’ve ever posted before (including meticulously crafted DND stories and no im not bitter about that who’s bitter I’m not bitter you’re bitter) so I guess I’ll just...keep going?
Oh, and we’re back to the Garden of Eden. What’s he doing with that rock- oh look it’s God
Ah, this is presumably Noah’s Ark. Ok, but the thing is (here I go on a literary rant)- all civilizations who have recorded history have some sort of a flood myth/story! It’s everywhere- I really do think that at some point there was a massive flood that reached...possibly everywhere, I’m not too familiar with Native American mythology, but presumably Asia and Europe.
“As a promise not to...do it again.” “How kind” Crowley’s sass is l e g e n d a r y
wOW I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT OK I JUST GOT OUT OF HOLY WEEK
that was...a lot more graphic than I was expecting. I mean, you hear the hymns, everything, I even cried on Holy Thursday and couldn’t keep singing but I’ve never seen...
“What else am I gonna be, an aardvark?” Ok but does this mean Aziraphel was hoping that Crowley could be redeemed
these boys are SO dramatic- how old are they, 12?
burbage was absoLUTELY flirting with Crowley also why does it feel like Aziraphel knows nothing about plays? I mean “I love all the...talking...” it’s called a MONOLOGUE you silly angel
Hah so this is the Arrangement I’ve heard/read so much about. Ohhh Aziraphel’s so worried about Crowley! How did it take him until the literal end of the world to figure out he liked Crowley?
Ah, Paris. I’ve been waiting for this. Dude is so OBVIOUSLY waiting for Crowley-
Oh, Crowley froze time, didn’t he? Zira’s face just lit up like a candle how is he THIS OBLIVIOUS
I mean...do I feel bad for Jean-Claude or not? How did those soldiers not recognize him?
“I like pears” oh stay on topic Zira. Also, did anyone else get flashbacks to the Doctor’s hate of pears when they were talking about this?
...even though I knew this fight was coming and could practically recite it word-for-word it still h u r t
Ah. 1941. That’s a lot of lit candles for a church with two people in it...and those do NOT look secure. Even if that church didn’t blow up it probably would’ve burned to the ground sooner rather than later.
Whoa- triple crossing
They’re making light conversation while someone points a gun at them- never change, boys. never change.
his fACE HE- gAH THESE BOYS
Also Crowley sounds so cool and suave but I would bet all the money in my purse that he rehearsed what he was going to say beforehand- probably in front of a mirror
wait, shadwell- shadwell- oh im STUPID ITS
im not even going to finish that sentence
Zira’s so scared and my heart is breaking
we’re halfway through the episode and NOW the title sequence starts. It still doesn’t make any sense but at this point I’m just here for the music- oh and that epic thing they do at the end where the letters unfold to say “Good Omens”
I’m still in love with Dog. He’s the best thing ever and I want to hug him.
Ok Adam is also completely precious. His book sounds exactly like something an 11-year-old would write.
Ooooh Shadwell and Crowley still keep in touch- and Shadwell thinks Crowley’s the son of the man he met in... what was it, 1960? It’s been less than 10 minutes and I already can’t remember
I bet Anathema’s ranting about the world is going to shape what happens in Armageddon
Adam’s been manipulating the weather in Tadfield for years, hasn’t he. White Christmas...
Are you serious both Crowley and Zira have been sponsoring the Witchfinder’s Army?
Chow™
b o y s  you cannot do this to my h e a r t
Adam got rid of nuclear power in his sleep and replaced it with a sherbet lemon. wow.
Well, that’s the end of episode 3- you know, I’m really enjoying this, more than I thought I would. I know the plot, yeah, but there’s so much I didn’t know and can still be surprised by. Next post might come out tomorrow or Sunday, or it might not...I’ve got a lot of editing to do.

I read these back to back and I'm different now.
I always wondered why Lord of the Flies was considered YA and Pincher showed me what happens when Golding writes for adults. You can feel his utter disdain for survivalist fiction.
Calling Johnny Got His Gun scary or anything like that does it a disservice. I need to go watch videos about Aardvarks.

These nails r so hard to type with but here is your promised rant. Spoilers for Red Dawn 1984 below the cut
So first, there's plenty actors who were also in The Outsiders so there's a few parallels. Nner one is that Robert, played by Howell, killed Daryl, played by Darren Dalton. Which means Pony killed his brother....or Randy however u wanna view that. Number 2 is that Pony was friends with Johnny which means Johnny killed Pony in an alternate universe, bc Tommy played Robert.
Here's some parts that got me emotional. First was Toni's death, because she was begging Jed to kill her and she said 'i want it to be you' because she didn't wanna be killed by the Russians, or questioned by them. Another is when Robert broke down after finding out his dad was dead saying that he killed him because they took the guns and ammo, and the Russians killed his dad bc they noticed his products were gone, which meant he was aiding people. Another is where the Cornel died and Erica said she wouldn't love anybody ever again. Also when Jed looked at a picture of him and I think his parents after a game and cried. It wasn't really the fact that he cried, it was the whimpers he made, and the strangled noises as he tried to hide the fact that he finally broke. And another is when Jed and Mattie cried when they visited their dad in the camp. Continuing with Mattie and Jed....it completely broke me when Jed was carrying Matt's limp tired, dying body while trying to hold up his own dying body. And the fact that Jed carried Matt all that way, knowing they would both die... And when Jed said 'dad will be here soon, dad will be here soon'... holy fuck could have sobbed. And my mom brought up that Mattie never told Jed their dad was shot. So Jed might not have known. And the fact that Jed went all that way to the park so Matt could die where he had happy memories kills me. We all know Jed didn't care that he would die, he wanted Mattie to die in a place of happiness. And also how upset Erica got over Aardvark and the fact Cornel and Jed had to hold her down and then Cornel died after. Heart breaking. I think there's one more parallel but I cant remember.....fuck. Anyway. Also at the end after Jed picked up Mattie to carry him, there was one of the Cubans that was about to shoot him but the he just dropped his gun. He looked at his hands wondering why he was doing this and killing innocent people who just wanted to live in a world with out war. And Jeds pleading eyes and the Cuban held his gun up, 'please, let my brother and I die with no more pain than we're already in'. This movie was heart breaking....but at least the people died with their friends around them, and knowing they fought well and hard. Especially Jed and Mattie, they ended the battles in their territory. They ended the war almost. Who knows if it kept going after their deaths but yk. Literally could have cried. Also as I proof read this I teared up.

The Tale of The Venus Flytrap
Catalyst's eyes darted around. This was going to be tricky to get out of.
They'd gotten so used to only fighting with their hero that they'd forgotten how vengeful some of them could be. How bloodthirsty. They were out of practice. And now they were cornered against a wall while Aardvark approached them.
"So..." Catalyst said, chuckling slightly. They reached for the pack at their side, feeling around to try and find anything that could be useful. "Why do they call you Aardvark?"
Aardvark smiled, picking up a brick and crushing it in her right hand. "Because I crush little ants like you."
"Actually aardvarks don't crush ants, they eat them," Catalyst corrected. Why hadn't they packed more supplies? Aaargh. "And I'd be pretty creepy if you were eating me since that'd be cannabalism and all that--"
"Shut up!" Aardvark roared. The ground beneath Catalyst's feet began to crack. "I don't know what kind of weak heroes you've been dealing with, but I am going to destroy you. I am going to rip you apart inch by inch, flay your bones, and keep you from ever hurting anyone again--"
"Get away from them!"
Catalyst took a deep breath. Their hero was here. They were safe.
Aardvark turned around. "Why, Bluebell," she purred. "Have you turned traitor? Are you siding with these weak villain over me?"
"Never," Bluebell shook her head firmly. Unnoticed, Catalyst slipped out towards another wall and took out a short-term memory gun. Only one shot, but they had a feeling they might need it. "But you can't just go around killing people. We're heroes. That isn't what we do. Now, get away!"
They raised her hands and a massive Venus flytrap erupted from the ground, snapping at Aardvark. The hero shrieked and backed away, right into Catalyst.
They smiled. "Nice to see you again."
And then they shot her with the memory gun. And hit her on the head with it, for good measure.
There was a pause as the two of them looked at each other.
"Pronouns today?" Bluebells asked eventually.
"They/them," Catalyst said. "... you saved my life."
"I did," Bluebells said huffily. She crossed her arms."What of it? Other than the fact that Aardvark is going to ruin me once they wake up."
"Oh, no, that's all good!" Catalyst said. "I shot her with my memory gun." They looked over at the Venus Flytraps. "You know, I always thought you only did flowers. Didn't realize you could summon Venus Flytraps."
"Yeah," Bluebells said quietly. "Neither did I." They drew their sword with slight reluctance. "Well, shall we get back to fighting?"
Catalyst groaned. "Do we have to?"
"You are such a killjoy. This is what we do. We're hero and villain. We fight!"
"Ah, you know you love me."
There was a slight pause and then, "I would never."
But Catalyst could swear they heard her whisper, "I do."

An important message from me
Hello everyone. You might have noticed that I have been streaming less often for a few weeks now. The only stream I planned very soon is playing the new Tintin game for a bit. So, allow me to go into an explanation into why it has been happening.
I have been streaming for 2 years and several months as of writing this. I started one August night in 2021 after I was inspired by a new friend at the time who was also streaming to start as well. It was not much, but I did something that I wanted to do. Around that same time, I was several months away from watching Twitch streams and stumbling upon the VTuber community. That was the inadvertent explanation for the PNG of a hand drawn aardvark head for the early days. As I watched more Twitch and found more VTubers, I was also crafting the experience for my own, creating several assets of my streams for, what it was supposed to be, an evolution of my streaming.
I was keeping it up for months on end, fitting them in beneath my college work and outside work at a restaurant that was increasingly becoming more stressful. It’s a tough balance, one that I still struggle with to this day. Part of the difficulty to balance became increasingly the relationship with streaming. While I oftentimes relayed the purpose of streaming is to enjoy myself doing whatever to any name that comes across, picking between various games that I was interested in, creating art live with an old and dying Chromebook, and whatever other activities, there were times which I felt dissatisfied. I was dissatisfied with my performance in providing commentary during gameplay, speaking clearly or being funny in general. If you know me well, you probably know that I have relayed all these issues onto you. Oftentimes, the answer is you just trying your best in beneath the unpredictable algorithm of Twitch, and I agreed, you know, maybe it was just a bad stream or not a good night.
However, it was increasingly hard to know when and why those bad nights occur. The unpredictable algorithm of Twitch feels like wrestling with inconsistency, and being razor tight with everything planned and ready for a broadcast that you don’t know if people will actually come or not. I am on the autistic spectrum, and one of the things about me is having a pattern or routine to go through, as a mental glue for the order that happens. It is often the same way with forming schedules and going through with planned streams. Sometimes it works because it feels like the right time and place, but due to the changing and arguably more capitalistic nature of Twitch, it felt as though those bad nights occur more often, either due to technical issues or just not being of massive interest. Something about me is that I play stuff that I am genuinely interested in, and that changes from time to time. You may have noticed that I was playing Sonic games and then later SpongeBob games, but they later appear to be mere hyper-fixations. The reason I started playing Undertale last month was because I thought that was fitting for October and because it was in my backlog- and I have yet to go back to it.
It's more present to me nowadays, that delving into things is spontaneous but spurred out of genuine interest in presenting things, whether it’s topics to discuss or interesting games like Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron, a game that I played in my childhood that I find really memorable. It was more of a disparity between wanting to stick to my guns and do whatever tickles my fancy and needing to grow and evolve the channel, eventually reaching affiliate- the goals and circumstances becoming more impossible without grinding, burnout or reaching an unhealthy mindset. There were some wins, but at what cost? At the same time, when I was writing about topics that are on my mind, I felt more engaged. Writing is more so an effective way to communicate my thoughts for me than speaking or even art. I thought I can do both and split the time, but as I watch more video essays or more informative works, those writings can eventually be those video essays, not just writings on a site.
And so, it comes to this. After the upcoming stream, I will no longer be streaming consistently and instead shift my focus to creating videos to YouTube. I have a poetry channel that I want to put work into creating art, while displaying video essays and more informative yet fun content on to my self-titled channel. I have been learning to edit gradually, and it has been a more of a challenge that I am proud to be taking on. I have already started drafting quite a few potential YouTube videos, but it is something that can suit my strengths while also improving in ways that are manageable. I want to talk about Tintin games in a more genuine fashion, not simply play them and attempt to be funny. I never had the strongest and most expressive voice, but I can work with the vision when reading a script.
That is not to say, that the Twitch streaming is all for nothing. In fact, I somewhat debate this being a decision I do not regret. The most valuable aspects are improving my art, both hand-drawn and digital, getting out of my shell in communicating, and more importantly, all the wonderful people I meet along the way- acquaintances, fellow mutuals, and the best part, my friends who I love dearly so much that I can’t even believe that I have and keep, all who have helped and supported me, and that I have helped back. Letting go of this almost feels like abandoning, and I apologize to all the people who haven’t been able to catch my stream who won’t see me live again.
I do not know how this will work out, and it scares me, the unpredictability. But I know a path through that that I will take. Maybe it will be a permanent decision, maybe it will not be. Maybe I’ll come back to streaming whenever I really truly feel like it, maybe once a week or two weeks or whatever. Part of this is the changing times, and the inner desire to ride those waves, despite the mental struggle to adjust or just wanting something to change and be new- and I think that I will be happy in the long term.
Thank you for reading this very long message (like I said, this is how I effectively communicate), but thank you for being there, whether you follow, talk or even share my stuff. For all I know, this is merely just a beginning.
Sincerely,
A.I. The Aardvark
