there’s an ending to a long cycle that’s coming up. everything in your life seems as though it’s stagnant. not progressing or moving forward at all, but that’s because you’re afraid to surrender a certain way of doing things. when just living your life, or how you achieve things in particular.
you could be feeling stagnant because you’re trying to develop motivation through projects, hobbies, belief systems, etc. that you’ve outgrown. you’ve learned what you need to learn from those things but it’s almost like you’re afraid to let go of them regardless. the unknown seems scary at first, but i know that you know that there’s so much more peace and balance on the other side of surrendering to this life change/identity change.

i just heard “life reset”. there’s also a message about finding complete peace and comfort in your own private world. you might not want to be around people much and that’s perfectly okay.
surrender your boundaries between you and the universe. things might be too overwhelming right now, but if you’re someone who operates out of faith, now is a good time to practice the art of surrendering. those of us in this pile have fought through enough already. we’ve been through enough. we deserve to sit in our own peace and quiet and enjoy our time to ourselves if that’s what we choose.

you guys are switching up the way that you think and speak to/about yourself. a huge burst of self assurance and confidence is subconsciously coming to you guys. it’s not clear where this confidence is coming from, but it could be due to avoiding a disaster of some sort?
you could be in a situation that has continuously made you worry for quite a while now, but i’m seeing that you’ll have either the motivation, strength, or bravery to change the course of your life through actively asserting yourself towards something. that’s what will help with this tough situation.
there’s also a message about you guys genuinely picking up on hidden enemies, psychic attacks, and non-genuine people around you. you’re not being paranoid or anything like that. you’re subconsciously or unconsciously picking up on some hating ass energy. i don’t like that. i heard that you should burn some palo santo or something to cleanse yourself and your space. bitches are big mad over you, pile 2 👀
what i’m picking up on is you picking up on the hidden competition that you know you feel from certain people in your life. it’s very gross. you’re realising that you’re someone who actually has something that others are jealous about. and that could be absolutely anything.
you’re increasingly getting more confident in listening to your intuition and this will help you to avoid a betrayal or backstabbing. i feel like, again, you’re unconsciously aware of this (or maybe you are consciously but you’re not speaking about what you know?) and this is also helping you.
keep doing your thing, and release other people’s assumptions and judgements of you. you don’t owe them shit. not an explanation. not your defensiveness. nothing.

for some of you, you’ve been given the responsibility of putting in the ground work for something. you’ve been given too much responsibility for too long and it’s overwhelming for you. an opportunity to leave something stressful behind is showing itself. you see that you’re investing way too much into whatever this is, just for it to not progress or evolve. things have stayed the same for a while and you’ve been carrying burdens related to this that you haven’t had to. for way too long. the opportunity to walk away is arising.
i’m also seeing that some of you could be laying a creative project or some type of work to rest? to switch paths and find something much more fulfilling. you can use the knowledge that you’ve learned so far for your new path and make great shit happen. it’s better than sitting around, waiting for something to happen without any progress.
some of you could even be leaving whole careers behind. because of the fact that they don’t emotionally fulfil you like you’d like. you’re following your heart more than money, status, or anything else, and that’s a great thing. your spirit feels free after releasing whatever this is.
i’m really getting big retirement vibes from this. of course that’s only for a smaller number of you, but figuratively speaking, whatever path you’re going down is building you so much stability and wealth. it’s actually insane. you’ll be able to live your life in a chill way. no stress. you can grow fruits out of your labour on your own unconventional path and still live comfortably. you know that. and you’re succeeding as long as you release what you need to.

Aether Sail MMO/ Treasure Planet MMO
i am a person of many ideas, all of them too much for me to do, so after many years of hoarding my ideas, and without making any progress towards any of them, i have decided to make some of my ideas public, i started with the RPG system that now has a blog that i will probably not post that much, so i ask you to judge this without thinking the scope is too big or whatever, i know all of that all too painfully, but i want to interact and maybe if this gets enough popularity i will get a contract or something. if you do decide to make my idea, please get in contact, i can work for you.
so, the basic idea is a MMORPG with Treasure Planet aesthetics and the 70% Victorian and 30% fantastic, the medium is cell phones, and you play with the phone standing upwards and the game should be made to be played with only one hand, both for accessibility and to make it easier to play. so you slide around to walk and tap to interact, if you interact with a enemy you get into attack mode. the combat should be something close to monster hunter but with a tab target system, idk if this could work but it would interact very well with the notion that you can only do one action at any time.
for guilds, one idea that i found somewhere that i don't remember is, that guilds are badly designed because it assumes that people only have one social circle, so my idea is to make it like Discord servers, where you can get into any numbers of servers you want, but you always get into the lowest role, and you can go up on roles if people like you or any criteria people want. you could also have multiple bank accounts per server and lock the bank accounts by roles, so you can really customize who has what money, and even share accounts with other guilds.
for dungeons, i want something like Tarkov with their loot n' scoot system, or extraction looter if you are boring, basically the idea of going in, getting stuff and either backing off to be safe or going farther to get more at the risk of losing everything you got. so its actually a risk and reward game to get better loot, to support that you can create encampment to create better gear, store loot and get out of game bonus.
PvP is optional, but its guild based, so you are in war against any other player that your guilds are enemies with. so it is optional, but its also social. enemy players can steal your items from boxes that otherwise they couldn't access, open doors, even if with some difficulty, and other PvP related stuff. to support that you have guild options that make you not enemies with everyone or be enemies with everyone (except if they have the previous setting activated). idk how overlapping would work, but i think its a good system overall.
for cities i think people should be able to buy terrain and houses, with limits, and create things like shops, also have a way for players to create laws and stuff, so basically player driven bureaucracy, that could be fun if balanced for fun, even if might generate too much conflict and be bad for some players.
crafting is something that i thought some amount of it, and i am thinking chore play, so instead of having placing things in a grid and happening instantly, something closer to Potion Craft, with some real physicality to it to make it satisfying, with a bunch of materials and ways to mix them to make it crunchy and let information on how to make some type of material be a political tool, a new way to interact with other players, so if you have a specific recipe that you got from dismantling a specific weapon.
notes are a way to create notes, you can at any time create a note and put information at it, you can sign them and they keep day and hour of creation or last change, they can work as documents, patterns of drawings like Animal Crossing, work like checks, material recipes to make crafting faster but at the risk of people discovering your recipes, and to give people temporary guild roles or other permissions. you can seal notes with wax and stamp it with a pattern. you can also create coins the same way, but not like the original coin, but side coins, so its really a player driven economy, player created coins need a stamp and a material to be made.
combat is like monster hunter but tab targeted, so you aim at the enemy you tap and get your weapons, and when you tap you attack, if you drag you move, if you slide quickly you can dash or roll depending on the distance and you have a block/parry or secondary attack button, a change weapon button, a change target button and 3 abilities buttons. so the combat is about playing towards the win condition of your weapon and using abilities to create openings or getting a big payoff from openings. the enemies would stun or throw you away with every hit, regardless of damage to make you really change how you play depending on what they do, but if you parry attacks you have a chance to throw the enemy away and if the enemy is really big you need multiple people to parry to push the enemy back.
Hades like dialogue, just add something about a player or tell a myth or something interesting but prioritizing things that are important.
and contest that the players can create to play around with other players, basically create rules for a sport or a arena, ways to allow light hearted conflict between players. be a fight to glory or a fashion show, ways to facilitate that type of stuff.
out of game bonus like World of Warcraft, but you can get better ones if you are in a good city or has a decorated house.
for monetization i would like a premium currency that you can trade with other players for coins only, but you can buy something from the game, but i am not sure what, probably some convenience or fuel for better out of game bonus. i think any form of monetization hurts the game, but this hurts the game less.
ships, with a velocity based on cloth released, and functions like cannon, helm, boarder and engineer, idk if the canons should use ammo or have a cd. we have a radar, that has info about enemies like position, speed, cooldowns, so its worth to keep someone there. idk how to make this exactly, but in Starfinder each spaceship has a number of rooms that it has to be able to hold stuff, so something like that, basically a room for people to sleep, a room for medicine stuff, a room for radars, basically space slots, but the trade off would be speed for size.

okay i'll tell you about a scenario i've been thinking about a lot and i'd like to write someday but idk when that'll be. putting it under a cut bc it's going to be very kinky and for once i have decided to spare you all

basically lysandre and augustine have planned weekend getaways (they also take off mondays for reasons that will become obvious later) where they go either camping if i want to be fully self-indulgent or in a cabin in the woods and as soon as they arrive lysandre is allowed to switch into feral mode. become creature. after he's made sure everything is in order (you know he would prepare everything in advance knowing he won't have the braincells to do anything once he's fully settled) he takes off all of his clothes and stops thinking like a person and starts just being A Beast.
i like the camping option better bc it offers a lot of potential scenarios for them to roleplay like augustine pretending he's out there alone for research or whatever and then he gets Attacked By A Beast oh noooooooooooo hahaha what if i got fucked into the dirt by a wild creacher looking for a mate to breed with and what if it bit me really hard all over my neck and shoulders until i bled hahaha wouldn't that be something if i just got plowed over and over until it was satisfied and i could do nothing about it bc it's so much stronger and bigger than i am and there's nobody out there to help-----
but also they could have softer scenarios in-between like taking care of my very good pet who is protecting me from the evils of the forest and oh no he went out to wrestle in the mud and now he's all dirty and i have to clean him up with the hose and maybe i'm accidentally aiming the hose at his peanits and he likes that
as i keep writing this i get gradually more self-conscious about being this earnest but in honor of your birthday i am powering on
also obviously lysandre would eat out of a bowl on the floor (or he could be handfed if he's been very good :) ) and sleep also on the floor bc he's not a human being anymore. and there could be very sweet grooming scenes where augustine brushes his hair and stuff like that. and he could wear a tail plug. and they could also rp him being a breeding stud and having to have his junk checked and measured (which i suppose they could rp anywhere but the setting could make it more exciting. taking my huge breeding stud out to get his energy built up before i finally let him loose (i.e. breed me until he's dry))
uhhh where was i. oh yeah and then from time to time augustine would check in on lysandre to make sure he's still having a good time and bring him back up a bit during meals or before bed. and then at the end he would bring him fully back up very slowly and gently so they can go back home to spend monday Recovering From All Of That

i usually try to accompany my hlvrai ramblings with a drawing because my dumb brain thinks my words/ideas on their own suck and have no value so i have to make them worth it with a drawing of some kind yadda yadda BUT i can’t draw fast enough to express all my ideas so i’m just gonna say fuck it and just dump some out here.

ok anyway this is about tommy. i see him as a secret badass kind of character. in my ver of hlvrai, it’s a virtual simulation that’s got the resonance cascade on a loop. the original goal of the simulation was to figure out the best way to handle the res-cas irl—except the real world got fucked and it doesn’t really matter anymore, but the simulation doesn’t know that. tommy is very much aware of the loops since his dad is gman and all and retains memories through the loops. his main job is to more closely oversee the events and make sure nothing gets too “broken.” but he’s kind of tired/bored of it honestly. on the outside he acts all bubbly and naive, but on the inside he’s secretly like “jesus christ these people are a mess. they could never survive out in the wild.” but like he doesn’t hate the team or anything. he just gets tired of their shit sometimes. during one loop he made an immortal dog that also retains memories through the loops so he has a companion other than his dad (who, let’s be honest, isn’t exactly around). this particular loop that hlvrai takes place in is the most buckwild of all the loops for various reasons that includes benrey learning how to mess with files and remove the final boss, so tommy is a little thrown off, but it’s exciting! he really gets into being a secret little shit. like he does actually know how to handle a gun but pretends to be clumsy with it for the laughs because he knows nobody gets seriously injured if he “accidentally” shoots them. when his dad stops time to talk to gordon, tommy just pretends to be frozen too, but barely puts effort in—gordon just too distracted by gman to notice tommy scratching his nose in the background. i’d like to think that the part where tommy follows forzen down the pit and disappears with him, he takes that moment to drop the facade and corner forzen and be like “who the fuck are you and why haven’t you been in any other loop.” and forzen’s like “oh god what the hell you’re terrifying i thought you wanted a beyblade???” and the part where the coomer clones are attacking is one of the rare moments that tommy goes serious mode in combat. just silent and deadly. i love the secret badass trope ok aughhh. ok i’m done sorry for the dump.

Saitama versus Garou, the breakdown and the misdirections
Warning, this'll be a long breakdown where I get into the real meat of it.
Tl;dr: We've actually all been misled because they didn't show us some crucial details. ONE is doing some real meta level writing.
So I'm rereading the Saitama vs Garou fight from 161 onward and the way Saitama deals with Garou seems justified within his capabilities, if you think in a way that Saitama for the entire time is
a) not trying to kill Garou b) trying to gauge his powers and intent
I hypothesise that Saitama is using actual power of intuition that he relies on a lot, so nothing really bad happens even when he gets pushed into the volcano, instead bunch of people get saved. He displays that high battlefield awareness when he can see that far, into the stratosphere when Garou kills Sage centipede and immediately going after extremely dangerous Evil Ocean Water with an OHKO. Even Garou is surprised that Saitama can deduce his attempt at world peace somehow, even when he did not articulate that part specifically.

He also slaps Garou away from Tareo so there's more room for them to fight. He has a bout of amusement because Garou's actions bely his hypocricy and he shoos away the civilians because there's still a lot of large scale damage being dished out and he does not want them to get caught in the crossfire. But Saitama has always been a bit of a troll.

His intuition gets proven correct time and time again when Garou ends up saving people with his attacks, more often than not.

Only whenever he gets surprised by Garou's transformations and power increase because he can't anticipate that happening does something like Garou shifting tectonic plates on other side of the Earth occur. And even then Saitama's intuition is not incorrect, it ends up saving the plane on other side of the planet and Saitama puts a stop to that potential disaster near immediately.
Then after, he punches Garou with just enough strenght to destroy his monster form and that should've been it. The end of the fight normally. Mostly large scale but superficial and unavoidable damage because Garou does not fold that easily because he's extremely willfull, even when Saitama focuses on that part and intentionally goads him and then seemingly handles him with ease in an attempt to make Garou quit the act on his own.

Sure, he could have intuited that he could have just stopped Garou dead on his tracks by grabbing his fist and initiated table talk, but that's another timeline lol.
(maybe the redraw was actually legit meta idk, more on that later)
One thing about Saitama is that he's always taking hits and gauging his opponents because he needs some time to visualize his plan of action based on his intuition, if what Genos being the objective narrator being in the right is correct in an OVA about Genos trying to find the key to his strenght. When he actually focuses to the point of hyperfocus (Serious mode) and gets into the zone, he visualizes more efficently, intently and faster about what he actually wants to do, so he can actually use techniques he has seen done and learned before to great effect when in this state.
Rather than being a punching bag to Garou's martial arts, he becomes the martial artist.

If he didn't do his hero work and even day to day life carefully, he would end up hurting a lot of people unintentionally. Even the slightest bit of miscalculation in power could kill people. Genos got temporary amnesia because Saitama accidentally opened a bag of chips a fraction too hard. Genos is more durable than most. Saitama's reflexive reactions like sneeze in normal conditions is enough to burst a room apart.
Chances are hitting Garou to strip monsterisation was enough too and it should have ended the fight then and there. The way Saitama responds in both drawn versions of the fight is directly influenced by Garou's thought processes. When Garou feels like quitting the fight, Saitama stops him and talks with him. When Garou wants to keep going with the fight and shows no signs of quitting, Saitama hits him down. This is Saitama's intuition, the embodiment of Justice enforcement, Seigi Shikkou.
But we keep forgetting that God is watching this entire time.
And God has a way of directly influencing people's egoes to inflate them. Even if he does not make direct contact. He does this to Tatsumaki and gives her delusions of grandeur and inflated sense of ego to push the drill inside the earth, so Orochi can sacrifice itself on the altar to give God more power.
The more Garou's ego flares, the more God can have influence over it. So he keeps transforming as he refuses to give in. Garou keeps attacking to the point of causing damage to the planet too. More about God's influence over people here.
God's influence is something that is impossible to intuit or anticipate and the very moment God joins the fight, Saitama is at a loss in how to deal with Garou. In one hand, Garou is still Garou but he started acting strange and opposed to what his gut is telling him. And a whooole lot stronger too, because he actually gives Saitama a nosebleed when he turns into Mode: Saitama to match his power equally. You read that right, he hurt Saitama. The intentional paneling gives it away (not to mention the power graph in 168).

Once again the sudden transformation and exponential power increase keeps surprising Saitama and God's influence over his ego makes Garou's actions very hard to intuit, but Saitama tries his best. But again, Garou became so strong so suddenly even Saitama's hero suit got shredded by nuclear fist that came out of the blue, something that Saitama's willpower, his mental energy cathexis, protects and that fact does flabbergast him as well.
"Aaah! What the hell man, you messed up my outfit!"
But still he keeps on gauging the situation to the best of his ability, but the situation is now getting worrisome, especially after Mode: Saitama got pulled out. Garou still does not make sense to him, because God's subconscious effect and subliminal messages to Garou confuse him. He can hear God's echo chamber. Garou acts very weird and not all akin to the Garou just moments before.
He does not get much time to ponder though when Garou suddenly unleases Gamma Ray Burst, something that would destroy earth and Saitama has to make a very swift plan of action because he can't redirect it without killing Garou like he did to Boros and has to angle it away from earth. Nor did have time to prep himself into emotional state to hit him with a Serious Punch. Or he did not have time to gauge if it would have also just wiped out Garou if he used the required amount of power anyway.

Yap there's a drawback. Because he needs an emotional state to do a really strong punch as it's a discharge of said emotional energy. No time for any accurate punching meter unlike with Boros and Elder Centipede or Orochi Or Evil Ocean Water, Gamma ray burst is gonna hit right now. And it hits Saitama and sends him into tons of rubble and he digs himself out in a timeline according to where Bang confronts Garou.
Saitama thus far, has tried to do everything in his power to not only spare Garou, but to end the fight against a planetary+ level threat with no casualties and no irreparable damage to the planet he's living on.
It's no small feat at all. In every sense he's being very heroic here.
But God has far too much influence over this fight, a being that does not reside in the same dimension, thus something that cannot be handled with intuition.
This is where things get messy when Saitama digs himself out of the rubble. He did not apparently fly that far from where the heroes were, he would have heard and seen Blast and nuclear fists going off in the sky and hurried towards the battle.
Garou just unleased a devastating attack that could have destroyed the planet if he did not aim it away from the surface, he would have done his best to hurry back immediately and fight with more force.
The fact that he did not speaks of inconsistency in how he dealt with Garou before and caring about people (like CE) and how the situation got a lot more urgent faster. But he was not stuck, he climbed out in time just after Garou made his speech and future Saitama appeared to punch Garou in fixed timeline.

So... what gives? He got out of the rubble in time, but he just was not there in time anyway and lot of stuff happened in between...?
And it suddenly hit me.
Time dilation.
Two possibilities:
He had touched God's cube before which Blast says had slown down time in God's chamber.
Or Gamma ray burst effect because of gravitational time dilation.

Godrou mocks Saitama for being late. Very intentionally. To shift blame to Saitama.

He knew what happened and he knows about time travel. God knows the flow of all energies in the universe and Godrou by proxy, duh.
Gamma ray burst possibly caused gravitational time dilation effect. Gamma ray Burst displays gravitational pull effects when it pulls heroes towards it.
In physics and relativity, time dilation is the difference in the elapsed time as measured by two clocks. It is either due to a relative velocity between them (special relativistic "kinetic" time dilation) or to a difference in gravitational potential between their locations (general relativistic gravitational time dilation). When unspecified, "time dilation" usually refers to the effect due to velocity. After compensating for varying signal delays due to the changing distance between an observer and a moving clock (i.e. Doppler effect), the observer will measure the moving clock as ticking slower than a clock that is at rest in the observer's own reference frame. In addition, a clock that is close to a massive body (and which therefore is at lower gravitational potential) will record less elapsed time than a clock situated further from the said massive body (and which is at a higher gravitational potential).
God interfered on the fight yet again and caused time to work against Saitama, in ways that what was only mere seconds for Saitama was minutes for Garou. The closer one would be to Garou's body with lower gravitational potential, the less time would elapse than Saitama who was knocked further away.
That or the effects of the time paradox itself slowed down time when future Saitama came back from time at this point. Timey wimey stuff happened. In order for the future to happen, the past had to be rewritten somehow to close the time loop.

And so, Saitama got stuck in a time dilation and could not actually make it back in time to stop Garou any more because time elapsed faster for him than others. On that point onward, what had happened in the erased future had to start in the past. Poignant that he came back in time to fix everything.
We're just not shown that he's stuck in time dilation, because to Saitama, it also did not happen, he did not feel like anything was wrong before he confronted Garou again and saw everyone dead. He felt like he just failed, his hero intuition led him completely wrong, that he made a huge error in judgement and he took his sweet time and was too indifferent to care to get there quick enough. Everything he believed in came crashing down when his sense of heroism failed him and everyone he knew died on him. He thought he did everything correctly but still his best friend and his anchor to humanity died. Nothing could be more shocking and his world got turned upside down. His self-esteem crashed down to the bottom of the pit. Everything is his fault and he did everything wrong.

Exactly what God wants him to feel, doubt himself. That in order to be more efficient, he should not rely on his intuition and ability to gauge the situation accurately; that he should just bulldoze with less care for humanity because monsters are monsters right? They are not human. And to be more efficient, it would be better to just dehumanize them and be more apathetic. In order to not make mistakes like these any longer, one should have to be perfect because if Saitama makes even a tiny error, people suffer and he has far too much room for error.
Because Saitama has so much power to end the fight instantly, he should just go for it right? Just become omnipotent. To feel like the end justifies the means. To overcompensate to achieve that perfection because he does not want to make mistakes anymore, made to feel like he lacks in heroic qualities, even when he has heroism in spades, especially when his power grows to levels where a reflexive sneeze can destroy Jupiter. But now he was made to doubt what makes him a good person and heroic.

What God wants is to groom Saitama to become like him. A being with a God complex who had discarded his humanity and emotions in favour of attaining perfection and perfect judgement and morality. Because Saitama is still susceptible to God's power like everyone else is and the superiority complex rears it's head when he beats down Garou efficently like a toy, in his anger and grief that he dissociates from so it does not overwhelm him. But god was also influencing that fight and made it into ego versus ego battle.

Saitama did not let go of his humanity in this fight, but the seed is already planted. It's up to Saitama and the people he knows whether he allows that seed to grow and fester and turn him into a monster. Into a being like God.
But one thing is clear here: Saitama did not actually make a mistake in this fight.
He was not blase, he had learned better and he tried his best.
God made him feel like the worst possible person and failure on the planet so he could use him.
This is the insidious nature of God, turning humans against themselves.
Saitama is still a hero through and through.
He may overrely on his powers, that's true and it was used against him here, but if he does not trust in himself, then who can he trust? Not trusting in himself would make him lose his self and his capacity in being a hero, because he needs to trust in himself to do the right thing and to never be defeated. If he can be defeated, then he loses the fight and the world may end then.
(Hell, ONE made US READERS doubt Saitama and his true heroism. Because of tiny details that were not shown. Actually magnificent storytelling.)

well im an older fan and i think this isn’t shinee in that this is following a trend instead of leading one. no matter how much others say it’s actually an homage to this !! well it’s still a hip hop inspired song which many boy groups are doing at the moment. it’s not that it’s shinee they can’t do this kind of song. it just sound to me that shawols are trying to find a reason that this doesn’t sound like it could be an nct song or any other boy group and a reason that they aren’t just doing what all boy groups are doing at the moment. that’s what’s disappointing to me about the song, beside the actual song. shawols hear people say nct and get in defensive mode and are like okay we need to justify this. and shawols are making it so that you have to stockholm yourself into liking it and you can’t voice your disappointment. this has turned to a fandom where you have to be on board with everything they put out. was there an intent to be distinctive in a style that is done by so many other right now? sure. but it’s done in a way that’s been done and is being done. where is shinee in that?

I'm impressed that this series has made it this far. Literally no one talks about it, but there are much dumber things being published, so I guess it deserves its spot. It's definitely a mixed bag of highs and lows, but I'm mostly enjoying the ride. Still have no clue how many volumes there's going to be. No end in sight yet.
Ch. 70
Iu is goin badass mode and I'm loving it. Kinda giving Joan of Arc vibes.
The disconnect between Iu casually chopping off someone's fingers in one panel and then freaking out because she killed someone in the next was pretty wacky. Like...girl...what did you think was going to happen? Either way, I guess she got over the shock pretty quick because by the end of the chapter she's just slaughtering everyone lol.
It's kind of surprising that it took the characters this long to be worshipped for their immortality/resurrection ability. Then again, I guess living long isn't as rare in this world since there are sorcerers and dragon bishops and what not.
Ch. 71
This chapter was 100% fantasy politics. It was a struggle reading through all those silly made up names, but there were some interesting nuggets here and there.
We're jumping from one hot button to the next, first was human trafficking as seen in...many places, and next was attacks on journalistic freedom which the characters compare to recent events in Hong Kong.
I hope they give the new girl more to do than be a genki background character. She's on the cover after all! I will say her singing Immigrant Song was pretty hilarious. Certified Shrek moment.
It's kinda funny how this world/game uses community service as its goal. It's not like a twisted death game where you have to kill the other players you just have to...contribute to society lol. I guess that's what makes it interesting because the challenges take a lot more brain/strategy than a death game or RPG-style game might.
Ch. 72
Eh, this chapter was kinda messy. Overall I enjoyed it, but why did they have to bring in a damn awkward narrator every two seconds!? The mangaka does this occasionally and it drives me nuts. This story does not need a narrator and it definitely doesn't need one spelling out exactly what's going on to the reader! It took me out of the story every time. :(
I did like Iu's internal struggle and her analysis of the tricky spot she's been put in. As I've said before, this mangaka is skilled at explaining difficult concepts (politics, sociology, war strategy etc.)
Thank God they sent Glen to help Iu and not Yusuke. This way it's a child asking an adult for help and not a "dumb" woman needing a man. Also, Iu needed Glen because she's emotionally intelligent (unlike Yusuke) and was good at calming her down and validating her choice.
Ch. 73
Okay, I kinda struggled to stay awake reading this one, it was a pretty boring info dump about the politics of the area Yusuke's in and how neither side is great.
Changing someone's entire political trajectory with one song? What is this, an idol anime!? (That scene was stupid lol)
The concept of force feeding someone monster meat to turn them into a berserker is pretty chilling. Fantasy human trafficking is even more brutal than irl trafficking I guess.
I continue to really dislike the made up names of this world. In this chapter it was the Sotaga vs. the Faida. IDK why but they just don't sound like real names to me, my brain rejects them. (IDK what magic makes some made up names sound good and others sound like you threw Scrabble letters at the wall...)
Ch. 74
This chapter was all about berserkers and how they relate to all of the ongoing storylines. I find this kind of fantasy slavery pretty interesting. Instead of IRL slavery where slaves were/are used for work, they're transformed into mindless weapons. Very dark, but I could see this kind of exploitation happening if monsters were real.
Of course the main big bad, president dude is wearing a turban...as this whole arc is a thinly veiled reference to extremists in the middle east. (Just feels weird to make this fantasy world so similar to the real world).
Some pretty brutal kills in this chapter, especially Ling getting curb stomped. I do enjoy that most of the gore is stake-less so it can get extreme like that. (Well I say "gore" but the player character deaths are actually bloodless).
Damn, dat fanservice at the end there. Overall this series hasn't been that fanservicey so it feels a little weird when it's tossed in like that. The art was decent, so I ain't mad.
The over-the-top evil all around (including Yotsuya's sociopathy) is a little eye-roll worthy. Verging into cringey edgy territory a bit.

You know what? This isn't a terrible change. With the addition of Thorn, Lesion did feel a little meh. So it's nice to have another mechanical trap operator. These changes does kinda bring him back to more OG style but at the same time: lol echo treatment invisible get fucked.

I mean this will make my friend really happy, she's always complaining about the inconsistencies of shotguns. Idk how I feel about the ads improvement. I feel like this is something I'm gonna have to experience in game to decide as it could make or break shotguns. (Ubisoft if you ever even THINK about touching the BOSG I will hurt you.)

Now for the shit I hate. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIIISSS CUNNNTTT??? Like bro if I'm the only one setting up then there's no way imma have time to do it??? Also revealing to the attackers??? Talk about a fucking nerf to mute and Solis. Like your better off leaving your drone at spawn now and picking it up to drone later on when u get close. Unlike your rushing there's no point. Being on to it and killing all drones in prep phase then having the object hidden used to be a strategic reward. I've had matches win because attacks didn't actually know where the objective was and vice versa.

Like I get this is a solution to a problem that they have created but FUCK OFF literally quick match was completely FINE. It's quick because it didn't go a maximum of NINE ROUNDS. This is such some BS babying level stuff. Like sure spawn peaks and run outs can be annoying but that's part of the game. You can counter them, like YES you should be checking every window! Your in fucking training for combat! If your invun for the beginning of the round what if your Kali and just long range snipe??? Like I can see this going wrong for plane.

I mean... Now that comp rank doesn't mean anything I can understand the changes with unranked cause no one plays it but also??? I want to play like quickplay the way it is now, if 'standard' is still the same length as comp then idk man that's gonna suck.
If standards legit just current quickplay then they really should have just been like 'unranks removed we now have baby mode'
Idk what maps have been removed but I swear to god if they touch my boys Tower and Plane I'm gonna cry. I know it's a controversial take by I love both of those two map as is. (And plane got a rework not too long ago) They can take stadium tho. Take it out back and put it down because it's the worst map in the game.
I'm just confused by those 'base changes' what does this apply to? Everything? Are they removing bans from the game???? Same with the overtime thing is this for all game modes, like comp and unranked or????

Ive been playing a little bit of comp recently but I've always been a quick play player. I could forgive the recent operators being so...eh.
Like don't get me strong Solis is really strong pick but I hated the addition of her and Brava SO much. Solis isn't to bad but Brava? I hate her addition. On both attack and defence, like why would you ever pick twitch anymore? Twitch doesn't even have any like really good guns either. She has the marksman I guess but all her guns are meh.
Fenrir I feel like is just a glorified proximity mine 80% of the time. He's just kinda eh and meh. His ability doesn't activate fast enough to normally be a big threat and then the fact you don't get his codes back is lame.
Grim is a niche, he's not bad. I just feel like he isn't that fun to play? I think him getting stickies is cool but I still feel like people won't play him.
Sens is powerful AF in a 5 stack with good coms. But without coms? I feel like their good for like a couple of strats but they aren't very versatile and are a very situation operator.
Like these operators aren't bad but I feel like they don't really add to the game in a positive way. Perhaps it's just a personal preference but idk I don't find any of them fun. I'm not running to try play them. I don't feel like the game has gotten better with their additions. Just worse.
(I hate Brava (gameplay wise) so much. On both attacking and defending)
First thoughts on Ram was 'oh an operator that focus's on playing vertical that's good we don't have- wait yes we do, there's sledge'
After this shocking revelation she's a weird automated version of sledge idk how to feel about it. I don't think she's gonna be picked much after initial release. I think she's going on the bench with Senz.
I'm still gonna play the game but like R6S vs CoD on a fight to see who can kill their game the fastest.
I hate being that guy but I do miss the way the game used to be when I started, I miss the UI. I miss being able to pick your fire mode, I miss old house I miss old consulate. I miss not having to worry if my own claymores gonna kill me, I miss the sense of accomplishment in the game.
Like I started playing just before Oyrx was released (hate Oryx players btw because they always break above hatch and then attackers get the advantage when they take it) and the games lost so much charm? Im glad they are tying to get out that entire 'stadium eSports incorporated into lore' phase but I feel like Ubisoft has an idea for the games future and it's just not a place I like.
I mean sure the games dying and I think addressing the RNG with shotguns is a nice step (that being said I like the risk vs rewards with them tbh) but at the same time if they addressed the true biggest problem things could change

I know I probably asked this question before, but how would you rank all the Ultra Brothers in this day and age and why give each the rank they would get? This includes Ultras that could or already be Ultra Brother material as well, mind you.
I actually posted a long ass analysis for the feats of most ultras on this list before so I'll just pick out some main ones and/or sunmarize their capabilities
1. Taro

Based on his age and as pointed out in a way earlier post, it seems that M78 Ultras get stronger as they age (with exceptions like Taro etc) Also the M87 Ray is stated to be the "strongest in the universe", tho that last one could be neither here nor there
3. Ultraman
4. Ultraseven
Was able to lift an entire kaiju with ultra willpower while being human sized
5. Ultraman Jack
Managed to prevent a tsunami hundreds of meters high with his Ultra willpower
6. Ultraman Ace

So the reason why I rank them like these is essentially because I realized that one of, if not the most OP abilities of M78 Ultras is their Ultra Willpower, which kinda supersedes the other abilities cause u can literally just tear apart yr enemy or use for zoning with just yr mind. Which I assume also scales with age (I assume Jack is younger than Seven but older than Ace from trend) Because or else we're gonna be arguing whether one hax ability trumps another as well as dealing with ambiguities like can Ace's ability to time travel back into the past cast faster than Jack or Seven can cast their Ultra Willpower etc
7. Leo
8. Astra
I put the L77 Ultras here mostly because they don't have Ultra Willpower and have no way of defending against said attack
And even tho Leo has planet-busting feats (1 beam to obliterate Black Star), we would then have to argue if that necessarily supersedes Jack's feat of defeating Vacuumon, essentially a black hole that consumes planets using multiple attacks via his Ultra Bracelet
9. Toregia (Parallel Isotope)
I placed him here because after absorbing some Absolute Particles, he was able to at least take on 3 exhausted Ultra Brothers at once, but I just don't see him being able to take on Leo or Astra in a 1v1 at max power
Rank may change depending what does he do with his retrieved Toregia Eye
10. Hikari/Mebius
Tbh idk to rank them because Mebius would have a massive drop in power with a massive drop in age
And Hikari is a blue ultra, whose abilities lie more in their intellect rather than their physical prowess so idk which scales higher
Even considering Brave mode cause we just don't know how blue ultras scale with red ultras at more relative levels, plus the only other blue ultras we have on this list aren't accurate benchmarks either cause their powers have been altered by external influences

Joneus
While he had an impressive feat of fighting Tartarus to a standstill in UGF2, everyone knows that neither of them were taking each other seriously, and even Seven in the last ep of UGF3 was able to seemingly take on a more serious Tartarus as well
So we need to see more of him
Toregia (Present, Corrupted)
I'm bringing him up cause as said, I believe he's definitely still alive based on his revealed abilities in the Blue Phantom novel
And I don't know where to put him cause he hasn't fought anyone else other than Taro, whom has never fought him with killing intent, even in Taiga ep 1 where we saw Toregia seemingly "killing" Taiga and the Tri Squad (Tho Taro likely knew that Taiga wasn't dead, just exhausted), Taro was still focused on bringing Toregia back to the LoL
And even in the Taiga Movie, Taro never even used his serious moves either like the Cosmo Miracle Series which we definitely know since Ginga that he could do it
So in all, we just don't know how far up the ladder would Toregia reach
Regulus (Parallel Isotope)
Yeah I consider him to be ultra brother level based on hype for now.
Also him managing to at least fight Diablo to a standstill several times speaks volumes.
Need to see more of him to be able to accurately place him. The upcoming Regulus series would definitely give us more answers to this.
The rest of the great eight
No idea where to put them because we haven't seen enough of them
Nexus (Anphans/Junis/Junis Blue)
Yeah him managing to solo both Titan and Ribut easily has opened ALL of our eyes to the power of Nexus if he's actually in control of himself
But the beings he has fought at the minimum places him above 10 but we need to see him fight more people at a different power scale to be able to accurately judge how powerful he is
And idk if he should be mentioned at all since he's literally Noa

Tell me about Shade Bl2, I don't have DLCs
ALRIGHT ALRIGHT spoilers for the Captain Scarlett dlc and the first ep of tales from the borderlands below the cut
OK SO this dude right here right [intro card in the dlc] is Shade, the last living resident of the town of Oasis. He's first introduced as some guy calling to the vault hunter for help since Oasis is being attacked by bandits attempting to steal the town's water

After you finish the first boss character there, he's officially introduced with his character card, referring to him as "your new bff" since he immediately gets attached to the player and is super clingy in general. After the fighting and intro, he ends up offering you his Sandskiff [boatlike floating thing?? Idk] to meet up with Scarlett, but after entering it it. Blows up. I'm thinking it was on purpose to have whoever going for the treasure stick around for a bit longer, which will make sense in a sec
So now you're on a fetch quest for parts that were lent over to the townsfolk of Oasis, who he insists are totally alive and definitely Not dying of thirst, and each person you go to is a corpse, strung up with ropes to stand, and speakers with pre-recorded messages from Shade acting like the people, or whatever he decided to have them act like, idk. The townsfolk include a gruff drunkard, a comedian, an outgoing teen [??], the flirt, and what he describes as "The town sexpot".
As to how the town got like this, there was a huge drought, and the amount of sandpirates in the area stole what water they could, and people started dying off. As to how Shade is alive from the situation, idk, my only guess is from drinking the fountain water in the town but I think he'd die from that.
Anyways, he's been driven 'mad' due to the mix of the dehydration problem and lack of socialization, which leads to how he interacts with the player [see above reasons], even to the point of a mission part to just join back up to him because he likes your presence. In the event of him not having available quests for the player, he continues to insist them to stay, even saying he's willing to provide some entertainment for them [see image below]

After going through more of the DLC's story mode, you eventually discover a place that's just. Entirely filled with water. It's own Oasis. Once it's in view, Shade talks to the player over the echo device thingie, I don't have that dialogue on hand, BUT I do have some later dialogue as you continue walking through where Shade says, "It's a good thing that no one in Oasis is dying of thirst, ha! Otherwise, the wight of that enormous spring might fill me with a tragic rage !", before bursting into laughter, which I think is due to his happy outgoing side he puts on, to prevent him from dwelling on all the shit Oasis has been through. Idk too much after this in the DLC, haven't finished it yet, but he DOES appear in the first episode of tales of the borderlands [[%
After the events of the DLC, he ends up leaving Oasis and taking over his [totally not dead] grandpa's business, the World of Curiosities, which features many taxidermy statues of Pandora's fucked up beasts. When he took over, he ended up adding a new exhibit including taxidermy of different people of Pandora, including Bewm, and some big Hyperion scientist that was obsessed with trying to recreate Handsome Jack. He's introduced as one of the taxidermies, and ends up scaring the Rhys and Vaughn, and shows them the way to August for the deal.
He also appears in Fiona's half of the story, ending up scaring her as well as she breaks into the vents of the place. Shade ends up following her in the vents, and offers to show her to a nice hiding spot to watch over the deal. If you agree, you get a nice little alert that says you've earned a new best friend, but if you disagree, he ends up leaving the vents and getting shot in the crossfire after the deal, wishing that Fiona had agreed for him to stay.
During this event he ends up trying to get the corpses of some bandits to help clean up the place, which I guess could imply he doesn't comprehend how death works, or he is continually stuck on the stage of denial when we do see him
Anyways yea I'm still probably digging too deep into this guy but yknow what he's neat, I wanna be besties with him, and I wanna make friendship bracelets with him

Squid roll and Squid surge have been explained more in-depth here. Surge is a charge-based movement mechanic and Squid roll is what we expected from the turf war demonstration. I think Squid roll either has damage reduction or i-frames but I’m not too sure what the final call is.

I’m not going to talk about the new stages since either they were shown on Twitter or they only showed blips of the new stages. For returning stages I am super excited about Mahi-Mahi Resort coming back but Hammerhead was the one stage I didn’t want back shudders in how Hammerhead really put my return to S Rank in Splatoon 1 run at risk since my Wii U gamepad’s right stick is still broken 
But anyways it also looks like stages from Splatoon 2 are returning as well to encompass 1, 2, and the new stages in 3 as well. Looking forward to possible changes these returning stages are going to have!

Okay so I always drew my inkling with a sword. I didn’t think that Inklings/Octolings with swords would become a reality but here were are. This weapon looks fun to use since it has some range in slash wave attacks and being able to slice through foes quickly so I’m definitely looking forward to trying this out when the game drops.

Wavebreaker is Echolocator but exchanges range for kill potential and Reefslider look fun for just barreling into the enemies quickly for that sweet surprise factor.

Loadouts are an extremely nice addition since now I don’t have to select my clothes and weapons in an organized fashion. Also besides Ammo Knights getting a sweet makeover, I find it interesting that you need licenses to purchase weapons instead of just leveling up to a certain threshold and buying them.

I missed this the first time around but being able to swap the main ability on your gear is incredible for customization and optimization. No more needing to limit yourself to certain gear because they have a certain ability and now because of that fashion and optimization can finally live in harmony.
Also Murch got that character development from Splat 2 to Splat 3.

Besides the rebranding of Ranked into Anarchy, I didn’t think that Rainmaker could be improved upon until they added the checkpoint system used in Tower Control. At least with this there’ll be no more 30 second KO’s that I know I have either dealt or taken in Splatoon 2. Also not shown here but it looks like for the rank system it’s more akin to Splatoon 1 but for each mode with the terms listed out even though it would be funny if this game actually went back to Splatoon 1′s rank system and made all the games modes count toward your one rank.

The upgrades to the lobby are great! The test range being merged with the lobby amazing since I can warm up while waiting for games. Also not shown here are ghosts and battle replays where you can join friends and/or people looking for members on the go and battle replays are great since I don’t recall Splatoon having a function like this.
I know that there’s the whole locker thing as well but since it’s mostly cosmetics only thing I have to say about it is that I know I’m going to have fun with that and also fear what others are going to put in their lockers
The catalogs also not shown here do provide an incentive to keep returning for new items.

Only question about this is can we run multiples? Also can we get the card backs as sleeves I would really love to have these as card sleeves.
Only new things from Salmon Run are the King Salmonid who may appear at the end of a wave and the new Big Wave looks interesting since it takes you to a multiplayer stage to play out salmon run.
Biggest thing about the news is that it’s finally optional. If you want to check out the news then thankfully it’s not on startup and you can check it anytime in the overworld.

Not only are we getting the first splatfest, but it’s also the global testfire to boot as well! The timing for this couldn’t have been much better for me. And yes they do have new changes where it’s now three teams competing, not just two.

The first half is the normal formula except with three teams running amok, but the formula for the second half caught my eye. This is definitely the first time where three teams all played at once. The ultra signals look reminiscent to the gimmick used in MC Princess Diaries where your team’s idol can lend a hand. I’m excited to hopefully try this out in the testfire if I can play during that time.
Also some info from the Splatoon 3 website that I’m finding out as I’m typing this post up:
- There is Splatoon 2 save bonuses including gold sheldon licenses to access any weapon regardless of level and access/higher starting point in ranked/anarchy battles
- Cloud saves for Splatoon 3
- Coded lobbies will be added in an update which I think is what it is and will let us connect with others even if we’re not on each other’s friend lists. Hopefully this is the case so fingers crossed.
All in all I’m excited for Splatoon 3, the direct not only had what I expected but also went beyond that with the additions. I know that all is not included at launch but at least I know that I’m excited to play the base game when it drops. Also here’s to hoping that I can catch the splatfest premiere on stream.

I think Dissidia is kinda dead as a FF spin-off (Opera Omnia on mobile notwithstanding) after NT was so bad, but ugghghgghgh I want a new Dissidia game SO MUCH in the style of the PSP ones, with a heavy emphasis on singleplayer content again while also having online multiplayer like NT did.
SO I'm gonna wishlist what I'd want to cope with my sadness that it'll never happen (and spoilers for maybe multiple FF games are to follow, maybe, idk, I'm typing this off the top of my head):
STORY: Just reboot the whole thing. Nobody cared about the new gods they added in the Arcade and NT games, but the story of Chaos and Cosmos was kinda done, so just start the whole thing over fresh like the others never happened. Be freed of the shackles of the convoluted plot of the past, and create a new convoluted story lol.
Now, what I think would be cool would be some kind of partner system in the story. Two characters having to fight together and if one got defeated the other goes too. Would make for interesting interactions between characters from different games, both as partners and as having to outlast the other groups? I'm not sure what the end goal would be, but picking off characters pair-by-pair would be kinda fun IMO, even more so if some heroes had to be paired with villains. Maybe each pair that gets eliminated in some form (not "killing" per se, but you know) feeds the crystals energy for... something... that the gods want... yeah, I dunno.
Also, the pair thing would be more of a story thing than for gameplay. Keep the assist system from Dissidia 012 and have where the partners are assists in the story, but in other modes you could just pick whoever as an assist. And have some bonus, assist-only character like Aerith was in 012. I always found it wild that she was literally the ONLY assist-only character in that game and that they didn't do more as DLC. Surprising level of restraint from SQEX.

ROSTER: Keep MOSTLY everyone who was in past games, including NT. I say "mostly" because I would trash Onion Knight and replace him with Luneth from the DS remake of FFIII. Sorry, I just have always hated Onion Knight's design and smarmy voice when FFIIIDS had better protag designs right there for the taking.
Some additions (in a reasonable number) for already-represented titles I'd add are:
Nothing for Final Fantasy I, II, III, V, or VI, sorry lol. The latter two already had 3 fighters anyway so they're fine. Also nothing for XI (never played it), XII (don't care about it and Vayne is already in from NT and he's the only one really worth it anyway), or XIV (never played it, though I am kind of fond of Alphinaud just because I had all his gear in FFRK and Opera Omnia so I guess him if anyone haha)
Final Fantasy IV Rydia -would be similar-ish in concept to 012's Yuna playstyle, but with different summons obviously and more regular magic spells interspersed in the moveset. I dunno, I just felt like one of the older games needed something and IV is my favorite of the pre-PS1 games. After Years outfit would be an alt ------
Final Fantasy VII Vincent Valentine -mostly ranged fighter with his guns and shotgun, though honestly I put him here just because I think it'd be cool fighting as him lol. His EX Mode would be when he turns into those monsters like in his Limit Break in VII. Also I'd love for him to have his Turk suit as an alt ------
Final Fantasy IX Beatrix -I actually kind of wanted Eiko or Garnet here but I'm not sure how they'd be different from all the other summoners either already in the games or that I want, so oof. Beatrix is cool and memorable and I think they could come up with something for her abilities in IX like Shock and all. Not sure what alt outfit she'd get since I don't remember her wearing anything else in IX? ------
Final Fantasy X Rikku -more of a X-2 rep in my mind since her thief dressphere would be her default IMO, but since she's in X as well I'll count her as both. Speedy melee attacker who would maybe swap to one or two other dresspheres for different attacks. Alt would obviously be her X outfit, though I'd also like her Songstress dressphere because I always though hers was cute. ------
Final Fantasy XIII Serah Farron -like Rikku, Serah is more of a stealth FFXIII-2 rep, but she was in XIII regardless so yeah. She'd obviously be able to switch between the bow and sword form of her weapon, and have some magic, probably Saboteur stuff because that's what I associate with her. XIII outfit as an alt for sure, though she also had some cute DLC outfits in XIII-2 that'd be cool
also in regard to XIII-2, I think it's kind of whack that Caius didn't get in as the XIII villain slot and they went with LR!Snow instead in NT, but I don't know that I'd replace Snow since I love his Lightning Returns design and he has that sick ice scythe, so RIP Caius, you deserved better.... ------
Final Fantasy XV Ardyn Izunia -super obvious choice, to give XV an antagonist. Also because I think we all pretty much like Ardyn, right? He's cool, and I think he'd be great to see in cutscenes in a new Dissidia. Not really much to say here since I think it's pretty easy to imagine how he'd play. Alt outfit would be his white robes look from how he was before the time of XV's story
Ignis Scientia -if I'm giving some games that already had 3 characters an extra one, then XV gets 4, too. Ignis deserves it most because he's my favorite of the non-Noctis Chocobros :) Could do his magic-infused daggers and all that, which is kind of untapped potential for Dissidia. Alt is obviously his timeskip look ------
Final Fantasy Type-0 Machina Kunagiri -the only realistic option for an "antagonist" from Type-0 IMO. EX Mode would be his White Tiger l'Cie appearance. Also, his dual-wielded drill sword... things... are pretty cool and I think would be fun in battle. Alt outfit of the summer Akademia uniform
Kurasame Susaya -LISTEN I love Type-0 and I'll do what I want here and add a 4th character. And I love Kurasame SO MUCH and so he's here because I say so. Plus, Ice Reaper? Ice magic and an ice blade and his Absolute Zero attack? HELLO? He would be so cool to fight as in Dissidia. Alt outfit would be his past look when he was an Akademia student

NEW GAMES NOT ALREADY REPRESENTED IN THE SERIES:
World of Final Fantasy Lann & Reynn (yes, together) -I also LOVE WoFF so I have to give it respect here. I'd have where you swap between Lann and Reynn (think Sheik/Zelda in the older Smash games), each with their own little monsters that they send out to fight. And Lann would have maybe a claw attack while Reynn uses her dagger. Not sure on alt outfits though
Final Fantasy XVI Clive Rosfield -duh, the main character has to be here, but also I like Clive a lot so that's A-OK with me :) He'd be in his appearance from when he is 33, because frankly he's hot there and it is his best look by far. Would play taking advantage of his multiple Eikon abilities, like having an attack from each one since his big defining trait as a Dominant was being able to use all the other Eikons' powers. EX Mode would be when he is semi-primed, then the burst would be Ifrit attacking. Alt would be his outfit that got added in the update (the black one), or maybe his 15-year-old outfit but like... refitted for his older self? That might be kind of cool
Barnabas Tharmr -between him and Ultima for the XVI villain slot, but Dissidia seems to like to err on the side of the more "human" looking characters, so Barnabas it is. Odin is SUPER COOL in XVI so I think he'd be a great fit honestly! His EX Mode would be when is semi-primed with Odin obviously. I dunno what alt outfit he'd have though? I thought his knight looking outfit, but that's kind of already being used for the EX Mode, so uhh... huh
Joshua Rosfield -3rd slot for XVI. This is totally favoritism to take him over Jill, but to be fair, Joshua is like, a LOT more actually important to the plot and practically the deuteragonist of the game IMO. And I can't separate my Rosfields man, you just don't do that. Since Clive would be focused on all the Eikons, Joshua would instead be the main "Warden of Fire" rep here and use Phoenix-related powers. Phoenix Shift maybe could just be his (though I know that power is very Noctis warpstrike-y, but they'd play different enough otherwise I think), some kind of Flames of Rebirth attack, and overall be more magic-oriented than his brother. EX Mode is, again, semi-priming with Phoenix, with the burst being legit Phoenix attacking. Alt as his extra outfit from that recent update, though I think giving him a modified version of his prologue outfit (just, ya know, redesigned to not look stupid on an adult) would be cute. Or a riff on Elwin's outfit since Joshua was to be the next leader of Rosaria

On a related note, I also think Marche Radiuju from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (FFTA my beloved) would be nice, but I have no delusions that he'd ever have a shot, and to be fair, even in my own fantasy roster, I feel like he'd be kinda weird to have in-game from a story perspective when he was from a "real world" type situation. which you probably want to read first for context, but i made it a new post so i could put spoilers under a cut and because it is kinda a separate idea from that posts considerations. speaking of which, rather long post and also it contains dwarf fortress spoilers at the very end.
exclusively aquatic people - can't get them normally whether in fortress or adventure mode, but there's an interesting idea of having either an exclusively aquatic fortress or a separate section of your fortress with their own flooded workshops and beds and stuff (can they still use them though? would that even work?). the only reason they would be interesting despite this inconvenience and the possibility of them not even functioning, where amphibious people basically dont matter, is the species - sperm whale people are even fucking bigger than elephant people (5x more, jesus), and ?from what i can tell? cuttlefish, squid, and octupus people actually get the full set of limbs from the original animal plus 2 arms and 2 legs, so they have a ton of arms? but thats of dubious use since i think the main value draw of that is using more shields and its gonna be hard to field your aquatic-people as soldiers, lol.
anyway i mean idk how much of a benefit to productivity the extra strength of an elephant person is vs the value for combat, and even then, i would assume it plateaus long before you get to being 200 times the size of a dwarf. i guess maybe you could use dwarves for convenient surface work and then if a megabeast shows up you use forbidding to force them through an underwater path where a crack team of a dozen supersoldiers lay in wait. actually oh man that's interesting. if they're able to sleep and use training halls normally so long as you have a fully submerged area of your fort, and you dont care about them crafting (even better to ensure theyre as trained as possible), all you need to deal with is dropping meals and gear into the water for them, instead of worrying about getting items *they* craft out of the water.
a well equipped and trained dwarven squad can handle most megabeasts but some can still be a problem; assuming you can produce equipment for spermwhalepeople normally, i think even if your sperm whale people soldiers are only mediocre in skill, they will be larger and stronger than most megabeasts. a dwarf with good armor can take some serious hits from creatures far larger than it, but a spermwhaleperson with good armor? i think even when they take a hit it would barely do anything to them. maybe i dont understand the way damage accumulates on large creatures though, idk.
as for weapons, obviously a huge monster has just a lot of force behind their attacks, but their contact area for attacks are big and the material hardness isnt that high. the strength of a megabeast but using steel (or divine metal or adamantine) material characteristics, and the contact area of a weapon allowing it to do critical damage more often against any defenses. the only thing that would trump it in defensive capabilities would be procgen megabeasts with metal bodies, and even then, because of the contact area of a weapon vs natural attacks, they should fall. plus your soldiers have combat skills and also, masterwork gear is super effective so that narrows the gap a little bit. definitely still a risk, but i mean. metal procgen monsters decimate any normal fort unless you can permanently trap them or you use an atom smasher to kill them, and here we're talking about you might lose a couple soldiers in a frontal fight of one squad vs one megabeast. oh, also special attacks from procgen creatures. actually those matter a lot, your sperm whale supersoldiers are still vulnerable to syndromes.
SPOILERS AHEAD
but uh. I mean, okay, they're never fighting angels because they're exclusively stationed in their underwater tank and can't travel over land to a vault (also, that isn't a common occurrance anyway and history/mission combat works differently from combat in the normal game area such that (i'm told) a few well equipped and skilled squads can successfully take a vault even if they'd be annihilated by the same angels if the fight took place in the fort. but demons you fight in the fort have grand master combat skills and there are *tons* of them, whereas even with the terrifying prospect of the metal bodied forgotten beast or titan, there's only one of them vs your whole squad. plus against multiple demons its even more likely that the vulnerability of syndromes ends up fucking you over.
i would have sworn that demons and angels can also get a full set of divine metal masterwork gear but i think that might be only true for archangels and ?possibly also unique demons in spires?. in any case, that uh. rather closes the gap that was created by being able to use dwarven equipment, and even overcomes it, but those you only fight one on one so you have the advantage of numbers instead of like thirty HFS clowns.
also uh, despite all of this waxing on about the power of having soldiers that are literally *even bigger* than megabeasts (by fuckin 20%!!!), i think its worthy of consideration whether you could just, yknow, have elephantpeople instead. just seems a lot easier, theyre still goddamn huge, probably a hell of a lot easier to have a whole squadron of them compared to dealing with your second-fort-inside-your-fort and needing to like fenagle to get megabeasts to pathfind through the underwater chamber instead of just sending a squad to kill them with minimal effort. plus you could preemptively hunt down beasts in the caverns to make it safe for your dwarves to go down there instead of needing to react. and like, we know that number beats size from existing dwarf vs megabeast combat. so its pretty certain that 5 elephantpeople drastically outperform 1 spermwhaleperson.

AFTERTHOUGHTS - ROUNDUP
Hello, everyone! I’ve beaten a few games recently that I just didn’t have a whole lot to say about. So I figured it’d be better to round them all up into one neat post rather than making big posts for games I’m only gonna talk a little bit about. And since twitter messed up threads uh, yeah we’re doing it here.
I’ve done this before but only once before. I guess let me know if you think doing stuff like this sucks and if I should just give each of these games more time to themselves? Idk.
As always don’t consider these to be reviews, these are just me throwing up my thoughts! If you’re interested in ANY game I talk about, please give them a shot!
Rotund Zero (April 21, 2022) - PC
First up is a game I actually played last year. And technically I didn’t “Beat it” but I did play a good amount of it, and for the time being I’m kinda done with it. Rotund Zero is a VERY fun platformer with about 26 levels where the goal is just to clear as many as you can within a time limit. It’s simple, but there’s a few ways to tackle these 26 levels, and the levels themselves can be really tough. You’re constantly jumping up and down, which also adds a lot of challenge to it. It has tight controls, cute gameboy graphics, and nice music. I’d say the only bad things about it is that some of the levels can be confusing as to what to do? Basically any level with the beaver enemies SUCK lol. But aside from the levels I hated, it’s a good time attack game! If you like hard platformers and time attack stuff, you shouldn’t miss out on Rotund Zero! Plus it’s CHEAP! Totally worth checking out!

Puyopuyo Tetris (February 6, 2014) - Nintendo Switch
First off, I cannot believe this game first launched in 2014. The version I played launched 3 years later in 2017 (for context I try to use the original release date in those dates I list fyi). I actually started my playthrough of this game YEARS ago now, probably back in 2017-2018. But I got totally walled by the Ecolo fights. I only managed to come back and beat them just randomly when my sister asked if we could try the game out (we play vs puzzle games a lot). And after that I put on my big-gamer pants and beat the rest of the story mode! Sadly, this means I basically remember very little of the first half of the game. 
But I will say this about it: it’s ADDICTING AS ALL HELL. I think the story is very good although, as someone not familiar with the Puyo Puyo cast it feels very... het? Or like it’s threatening to be het a lot of the time. But it’s colorful, has a lot of characters, an interesting story in a game that didn’t need one (which I always appreciate), and it’s just fun to play these games. I got totally stuck playing Tetris nonstop that it was affecting my ability to work for a few days lmao. For things I dislike? I think the fusion game mode fucking BLOWS, it’s not fun and barely works imo and they force you to use it a lot. Also Puyo is clearly stronger than Tetris, like Tetris stands no chance against Puyo. Also I think the game should have ended with them destroying the walls between all worlds and every future game adds MORE puzzle games until we have Puyo Puyo x Tetris x Dr. Mario x Panel De Pon ect ect. But other than that yeah it’s a fine game. I want to try the sequel but I feel like it’s gonna be the exact same thing? We’ll see.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 (February 24, 2000) - Dreamcast
Ah, Marvel vs Capcom! I’m not really a big Marvel guy, if I’m being honest. But sometimes when good Marvel stuff comes out I really get into it. There’s only 2 things that really scratch that itch for me and those are Spiderverse (one of my favorite movies ever) and the Marvel vs Capcom Games! (And Super Hero Squad but I haven’t watched that in years). Anyway lately I’ve been in a big MvC mood, I’ve been seeing all those AWESOME MvC3 mods and watching lots of videos on MvC2. And I got fed up with not being able to play it! I own a bootleg copy for Dreamcast but idk where it is, I cannot emulate arcade to save my life, and the game is just generally unavailable everywhere. So there’s only one place to turn... the high seas. My best friend in the whole wide world.
So I finally got to play some MvC2 again! I LOVE this game! It’s so full of love and charm! First off, I don’t think this game gets enough credit from lovers of the Y2K aesthetic. Just the menus are so calming and cool with all the water effects and bright lights. Plus this game has a surprisingly relaxed soundtrack! A lot of the music is very chill in the best way possible. Of course it has drop dead gorgeous sprite art, and I’m always a fan of 2D sprites on 3D backdrops! I actually quite like the stages even though they’re very weird. And of course, the characters are GREAT! My team right now is Venom, Shuma Gorath, and Amingo! Venom and Shuma are my favorite Marvel characters BECAUSE of MvC! And Amingo is a cactus guy so, of course. Hope he can come back in ANYTHING some day! The roster is MASSIVE and it’s honestly impressive there’s so much to choose from including TONS of really weird characters I’ve NEVER heard of like Marrow and Blackheart. It’s great how many odd picks there are.
The gameplay is also great, I feel like I probably still prefer MvC3 but I really need to play this one more to really get the hang of it again cause it’s been YEARS since I played it last. But this was also my first time beating it! I’ve beaten every other game in the series before (even MvC1 cause I had an emulator on my Xbox) except for anything prior to MvC1 I guess. I wish this game had more personalized plots but for the time and with such a big roster I do think the concept of Ruby Heart gathering fighters to fight Abyss is cool and serves its purpose well. I certainly don’t hate it. In fact I think some of the only negative things I can say about this game is just how IMPOSSIBLE it is to play without pirating it. I KNOW pirating games tends to be better anyway, but there’s something nice about playing and owning a real copy. Maybe one day it’ll get rereleased on Steam? Maybe? Please???
Regardless, yes this game is still great and I will absolutely come back and play it more! I wouldn’t mind being better at the Marvel series in general!

God of War (March 22, 2005) - Playstation 2
And here’s a new series I started for the first time this year! I’ve heard absolutely AMAZING things about the series, especially Ragnarok. So I figured it’s time for me to give a shot too, but you know me, I gotta start from the top. I’m honestly surprised I didn’t have more to say about GoW, but it was honestly VERY different from how I was expecting. I actually played the whole game on easy mode cause I’d never played a game like this before but uh... IT’S STRAIGHT UP JUST THE WEREHOG SECTIONS FROM SONIC UNLEASHED!? LIKE, DOWN TO THE TIGHTROPE SECTIONS!?!? IS THIS WHY WEREHOG SONIC HAD STRETCHY ARMS, TO MATCH THE BLADES OF CHAOS!?!?
Anyway, yeah God of War was neat. It’s a VERY brutal game that’s very dark and depressing. But that of course fits with the ton of Greek Mythology very well. And where this dark tone shines is absolutely with the game’s protagonist, Kratos! He’s EASILY the best part. Bad ass design, tragic backstory, a hard ass tough guy but he loves his wife so much and realizes that his struggle for power wasn’t worth it if it meant hurting his family. It’s great. He’s really cool and honestly fits into Greek Mythology pretty perfectly, I’m a little surprised he’s an OC cause he fits really well. The story is simple but good, the game has some cool monster designs (the armored minotaur was GREAT), and it can have some pretty nice looking environments! I do also like that you get so many different tools to deal with bad guys. From different spells and even 2 different weapons! The giant sword and Poseidon's Rage were my go to weapon choices! Probably the aspect of the game that stuck out to me the most though, and this is SUPER random. Is the fact that this game features characters with fully exposed breasts. Like you see them pretty early but there’s important characters with their boobs full on out, and a lot of the enemies are actually doing the same. And obviously Kratos has his nipples out, but I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a game where women do that. And there’s NO jokes about it, it’s just the fashion, it’s taken completely seriously and boobs are treated exactly the same regardless of who has their nipples out in the open. Obviously it’s all greek so of course but it’s COOL! I think more games should have characters with boobs and not make like a point to give them crazy jiggle physics and make jokes about BOOBS LOOK GUYS ITS BOOBS shut up. Boobs are cool and you’re giving boobs a bad name
However, despite all that praise. I honestly was not that crazy about a lot of this game. Like, for starters, the gameplay. So it’s the exact same as Sonic Unleashed’s werehog stages. But I realize now that those are REALLY fun to me because it’s just 1 half of the puzzle. In God of War you ONLY do werehog stages. And the combat is fine but it’s not that exciting to me? A lot of the enemies are REALLY annoying and MASSIVE damage sponges. And while you get a lot of weapons and spells, most of them feel useless? And especially the attacks you learn with the Blades of Chaos. Am I crazy or am I the only one who doesn’t like games where your move inputs look like this: X,X,O,X,O,X,O,O,R2,X,O,X,X,X,X,X,X,X,R1,O,L2. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER THIS!? I’d rather have a small, concise moveset of iconic moves I can instantly recognize, than a MASSIVE list of moves that are completely lost in the fold that I can’t even remember how to use. Then you have SO MANY tight rope sections that are just not fun and annoying. In addition to that, like most of the game is too dark to see anything and a lot of the music isn’t that memorable imo (except for the Cliffs of Madness song I liked that one a lot). The whole game feels like a bit of a chore to get through, but it’s very generous with checkpoints and save points and ultimately it is cool even if I wasn’t SUPER into it. I think this is a series that will only get better as I play the later entries! Time to hook up Playstation Allstars and try Kratos out in that!

Fortnite Battle Pass (July 21, 2017) - PC/Xbox
Okay... I’m a little embarrassed to admit it... I got a little into Fortnite in December and I’ve been playing it since. It’s fun! I tried it way back in 2017 or 2018 and just did not like it and did not get the hype. But recently I had a massive itch to try it again and, well, yeah it clicked! I think the game is a lot more fun now! I ended up getting 2 of my siblings sucked into the game as well, and we all agreed to buy John Cena so we could run around and play as a trio of John Cenas. And I had left over V-Bucks and figured, what the hell? Doom stuff is in the battle pass and I love Doom, so I might as well buy it.
As for the game itself? It’s a ton of fun. I like running around the map, finding resources, getting augments, ect ect. It’s like a Roguelike, which I’m very iffy on. But I LOVE having random equipment on the map and having to adapt to random stuff you find. If that makes sense. But my favorite thing to do? Is DRIVE. Using a car in this game is SO much fun! Getting the Tricked Out and Supercharged Augments so I can just drive through buildings forever, crashing into people, getting my car blown up, doing flips, getting my car blown up. It’s a BLAST and leads to some hilarious moments when I hit someone right after honking at them at top volume. The game has REALLY nice graphics and art style, it’s cute and feels pretty good to play. And has a pretty neat selection of characters, both in terms of its mix of OCs and Pop characters. I do wish there was more stuff I PERSONALLY liked. But like I said earlier, John Cena, Venom, and Doom Slayer are pretty cool. But the second they do Mario or Final Fantasy stuff? It’s over for my wallet. Plus being able to mix assets from characters together can make for fun and cool combos (plus, the goofy emotes). And in addition to that there’s a lot of custom content made by fans? That’s AWESOME! Me and my sister have been having a lot of fun doing prop hunts, ghost hunting, and gathering wood in a medieval castle? Regardless it’s fun and it’s neat fans can make modes.
But yeah, the game isn’t perfect. For more nitpicky things: I think Shotguns are completely busted in this game. Maybe I’m crazy but whenever I use them, they are WORTHLESS! But when an ENEMY uses them, they are ALWAYS a 1-hit KO on me no matter what my health and shields are. Also, I think fall damage is a little extreme in this game, I’ve died just from falling from trees close to the ground at max HP. I also have a big issue with this game that the default skins SUCK. This game desperately needs a custom character creator so I don’t have to play as the boring randomized default characters. But no, the worst part of this game is easily, and you probably guessed it, the microtransaction stuff. V-Bucks are SO expensive and have terrible conversion rates. 1,000 for $8? You can buy barely ANYTHING for that price? $32 for 5,000 sounds like a lot, but at roughly 2000 V-Bucks for any character, that $32 will drain INCREDIBLY fast. I just feel like making this a little less expensive would be VERY appreciated. And in addition to that, you gain exp SO slowly on the battle pass, I know every game does this but still. It’s clear that it’s a tactic to get you to buy levels using, you guessed it, more V-Bucks. By the time I reached level 80 or so, I was gaining exp so slow and I just don’t have to energy to keep grinding to finish the dang thing. I got the Green hellsie I wanted (the green tea girl) and now. I’m happy with it. I think I’m done for the time being. I’ll still play every now and then with my siblings but I am pooped out on grinding that battle pass. Still, the game IS fun! A lot of it, and especially if you go in not planning to spend money like I did (initially) I think you’ll find a great game. But like any microtransaction riddled mess, once money gets involved it really starts to feel like a chore.

Tightrope Theatre (August 10, 2022) - PC
Last, but not least, is a nifty little platformer called Tightrope Theater! I saw this game was on sale for 99 cents during the winter sale last year, and I just couldn’t pass up a deal like that. So I picked it up and, hey, yeah this game is pretty neat! For positives: let me just start out by saying I ADORE the sprite art in this game! A LOT!! The sprites really evoke a Gameboy Advance feel to me, which is the highest praise I think I can possibly give a game. It’s incredibly charming and cartoony sprites that just look fantastic! The music is also great! Flaming Finale is easily my favorite song in the game. The game clearly had so much love poured into it despite being a small game. And there’s tons of levels too! 140 in total I believe? And there’s even time attacks to keep you coming back to try them over and over again! I didn’t do the time attacks but I did completely each chapter + the 2 bonus ones and I had a great time with it!
As for what I disliked? Well, for starters, this game feels slippery a LOT. I think it’s cause the main character rides a unicycle. SO OFTEN I would land on something and just slide clean off for no reason. Most of my deaths happened that way for sure. Then there’s also bumpers which I found to be REALLY annoying to use properly, and some levels were surprisingly difficult for me to figure out what they wanted me to do. But if I’m being honest even if they ticked me off I think the rest of the game is so much fun and has such high quality that it doesn’t really matter. This game is SERIOUSLY GREAT and I absolutely will be checking out some of their other stuff (I used to play Duke Dashington on Newgrounds a few years back actually!) If you want a small platformer and / or like clowns? Check this game out for sure!
