Explination/rambles under the cut.
So after the events of the MonsterTiff AU, Tiff suffers from mutlpile side effects of the whole 'getting possessed' thing. The monster had deformed her using an obscene amount of dark magic, and she only survived due to it controlling her.
So she's still infected with dark magic after it dies. Because of this, she will get random mood swings, randomly become absolutely terrified of seemingly nothing and break down, or in the case of this image, hallucinate. She doesn't really know what she sees or hears, but it scares her to no end. She also suffers in certain situations if its too similar to the event of getting possessed. She hates the beach, being alone at night, when things are too loud or quiet, and fire/fire alarms.
She also has trouble with her self worth given she sees herself as a burden now, as she worries a lot, leading Meta Knight and her family to become concerned and insist on keeping a close eye on her. She recovers from the emotional effects from the most part, but still struggles when it comes to talking with the cappies, who treat her terribly over the whole thing.
Oddly enough, in the alternate ending, in which she remains deformed, she recovers emotionally almost entirely and much quicker, and is rarely seen away from Meta Knight. The cappies hate her more but she doesn't seem to care. Meta Knight finds their attitudes beyond infuriating. Tiff knows she still looks like a monster, and her voice is completely distorted (which is why its harder for the original ending to accept her new situation, she still looks and sounds normal, nothing really changed), and typically ignores any of their attempts to insult or upset her.
Since the dark magic had caused these affects, it goes without saying that there's another universe where she suffers from this.

(Plotted starter for @bladesfromthedark!)
Meta Knight watched the shadowy stranger from afar, sheltered within the canopy of a tree some distance away from the other. It had been a few days since the invader was first spotted in Dream Land, their presence alerted to the King by Bandana Dee, who had then passed the information along to him.
This was not the first time a being like this had come to this planet, he knew. Years ago, they and their kin had brought a great calamity upon Popstar—something he, regrettably, had not been around to protect it from.
Now, however, after all this time, a member of that same species (...Dark Matter, he believed it to be called?) appeared once more on the normally-peaceful planet, for reasons unknown. And this time, he was ready. No matter what the stranger had planned, he was prepared to strike them down the moment they threatened any harm to Popstar. Until then, he would become the creature of shadows’ own shadow, keeping a careful eye on them at all times as he watched for any suspicious behaviour.
Though… He would be lying if he claimed he did not also have… ulterior motives.
He did not typically wish to think about Haltmann Works’ attempt at mechanising the planet. However, seeing the being before him now, Meta Knight couldn't help but recall his encounter with Star Dream during that time. The supercomputer had summoned a number of foes that it had handpicked for him to fight, claiming them to be the strongest warriors Popstar had to offer. Among them was an artificial creature supposedly modelled after a “sword master”, who bore a form remarkably similar to the invader he now monitored.
He had fought and defeated the swordsman's clone before. But how did that clone measure up to the real deal? He had to know.
Currently, Meta Knight had followed the other to an open field (save for some vegetation on its edges), which they appeared to rest roughly in the middle of. Perhaps it was because all this surveillance work these past few days had prevented him from being able to train to the same extent that he was used to, but…
Frankly, it was the perfect place for a duel.
He couldn't wait any longer.
It was already well into the night at this point, but whether he was fighting under the stars or a bright blue sky made no difference to him.
The masked knight lept into action, bat-like wings bursting out from beneath his Dimensional Cape as the fabric faded into the aether. He soared through the sky, Galaxia gleaming in his grip like a shooting star. Taking a sharp dive, he landed a few feet away from the fellow warrior and pointed his blade.
He had occasionally seen the other accompanied by a shining blade of their own in the past. And, of course, a true swordsman always keeps their weapon on hand in case of emergency (or, in this case, an impromptu sparring session). However, he could also provide them with his backup sword if need be.
“Fight me.”

More headcanons I thought of since the last one
- Prince Fluff (gijinka, I don’t think puffballs can do this) knows how to do ariel silk so he has a tendency to just fall out of trees right next to people at eye level, scaring them as he dangles
- that does mean he hangs around with Taranza quite a bit.
-After the events of epic yarn, Fluff trained himself to properly use his whip to the point where fighting him is actually scary. He also uses it to grab things he needs, wether it be on the top shelf or just out of hands reach. He uses it so often that he’s able to grab a full cup without it spilling, very spiderman like.
-DDD is stupid good at rhythm games, mostly taiko no tatsujin; Meta enjoys shoot/beat ‘em ups and bullet hells; Kirby mainly plays puzzle games and platformers
-None of the main 4 Meta-Knights are cis. There is no way.
-The only plant that Kirby can keep alive are (maxim) tomato plants, he has tried branching out. It does not work.
-Morpho Knight makes their own teas, most are floral.
- Meta can’t drive. Legally or physically. Don’t let him drive anything, he is impatient and will always speed and crash. No, he can’t drive the Halberd either, that’s what Axe Knight is for
- All the star allies have a star somewhere on their uniforms/armor/clothing, very Steven Universe/crystal gem like, I thought it’d be cool
- DDD was definitely the type to make bad interior design decisions. Like, he would put a shirt on a hanger and put it on the wall or paint his walls that one bright aqua color that every kid painted their walls and/or have an eyesore of a wallpaper. Thank Nova for the dees.
Also, all the star allies, and just most of Kirby’s friends, are close with one another and will often train and spar together. This not only gives me the excuse to pair up random characters to do mundane stuff like shopping and hanging out, but also let’s me make random scenarios for the on and off battlefield:
- going back to Fluff, he typically tries to get his opponent’s weapons out of their hand, if they don’t have a weapon, oh well.
- Fluff also figured out that he could grab and throw people, this ended up in him accidentally grabbing Meta Knight’s leg as he was in the air and slamming him on the ground. There was already quite a crowd, so the silence was deafening. (Meta recovered quick and was very impressed).
- DDD found out that hitting the ground hard enough will disorientate people, he uses it frequently
- Ribbon is one to rush, making quick, fast, up-close movements
- Taranza lays webs everywhere he can, one wrong step and you’re wrapped up like a present
- Ribbon vs Susie = cowboy standoff
- Marx just tries to scare people out of bounds, he has no plans
- The animal friends and the mage sisters just enjoy having like 8 people on the field
- Bandana dee and Fluff like to play sandbox and simulator games (think slime rancher, stardew valley, job simulator, the sims, etc.) it’s very calming.
- Those born/made in the mirror and yarn dimensions don’t feel pain as strongly as others, especially out of their own dimensions. This does mean Fluff and Dark Meta have, on multiple occasions, have worked themselves to exhaustion, but they’re never by themselves when they get too tired, as stubborn as they both are that they don’t need help.
 - Parasol, Sailor, and Bandana dee are all identical triplets, only in looks though, personality wise, very few similarities.
- When Dreamland was no longer yarn, Fluff hated the way grass and water felt. On the other hand, gooey, dark matter swordsman, 0, 02, etc, love the way grass feels
- Sailor dee is very good at sewing, if anyone on the Halberd has a tear in their clothes or wants something made, they go to Sailor. None of them know how to buy formal wear, Sailor makes all of it. Spear Knights likes to help.
- Queen Ripple, Prince Fluff, and DDD like to hang out. They don’t act all royally, they already do that all day, what usually happens is they get take out, crash on the couch of whoever’s castle is closest and gossip
- Gooey, Parasol Dee, and Nago sun bathe and nap together.
- Flamberge and Dark Meta are good at death metal screams, neither of them even listen to any genre of metal.
- Meta Knight is still in contact with Sword and Blade Knight, he makes sure to invite them whenever a big event is going on

List of Dark Matter headcanons I currently have because why not?
The Species itself
Eusocial (like bees), all Dark Matter serve a "queen"/Zero.
Lesser Matters have three different forms. A "Blob" form (used for resting), a "True" form (The "Sunflower form"), and a "Blade" ("Humanoid" form). The latter is only gained when a Dark Matter reaches a certain age though.
However, Zeroes only have one form.
Most Dark Matter don't have names. They can receive a name from anyone, but they can't name themselves (it's considered taboo)
Zeroes are a special case, they receive a name upon birth and pass it down to the first Matter they create.
Typically sleep in groups, most nests contain 5-10 Matters on average.
They can mutate if it'll help accomplish tasks, though the ones in Zero's colony try to avoid this if they can help it.
Also, Dark Matter only mutate at least once or twice in their lives (changing color doesn't count)
Speaking of which, most Dark Matter will gain color if they're away from their Zero for long enough. There's no way to reverse this.
Most "absorb" their food to eat it, though they don't have to.
Instead, they gain their energy through sleeping..
All Matters have acidic blood, a Zero's blood is more corrosive while other Matters have blood that's as acidic as orange juice.
Like Puffballs, Zeroes have fuzz on their bodies. However, lesser Dark Matter generally have rubbery skin.
Gooey
Physically about 6, doesn't know his actual age.
Received his name from Nago.
Always had two eyes since birth, nobody's sure why.
Always disconnected from the Hivemind.
One of the few lucky Dark Matter to have the Copy Ability, though it's at the cost of being able to possess others.
Slowly learning other abilities Dark Matter have however (Dark Laser being an example)
Big eater. He doesn't need to eat, but rather he eats because he enjoys it. Plus, food is a big deal in Dream Land.
Spars with Kirby and (eventually) Meta Knight post-DL3.
Not as dumb as most people think, though he struggles when it comes to remembering something.
He and Blade were inseparable back on Dark Star, they become close again some time after TDX happens.
Lives with Kirby, he usually watches over the house while he's gone.
Has a faint scar on his belly from getting hit with Zero's eye.
Used to be mute at one point, he'll still make gestures as a remnant of that.
Additionally, he glares when he strongly disagrees with something.
Blade/Swordsman
Physically about 16, doesn't know his actual age either.
Generally very quiet, though he's prone to outbursts.
Also always disconnected from the Hivemind, hence why he and Gooey became close.
More comfortable in "Blade" form, which is how he got his name (received from Taranza)
Meta Knight gave him the nickname "Swordsman" since he already knows a "Blade" (Blade Knight)
Picky eater. Although he CAN and DOES eat sometimes, he doesn't do it often.
Serves Dedede as a way to atone for his crimes, he views Dedede as another "Zero".
Hates yelling/loud noises. Also hates mushrooms more than life itself.
Gets along well with Taranza.
Crafter
Was once a promising soldier before he disconnected from the hivemind and took off.
Because of this, the rest of the hivemind assumed he died.
Physically about 28 years old.
Actually named himself, Nebula chews him out for this as soon as they reunite
More comfortable in Blade form like Blade himself, but he prefers to use magic and possession rather than using any sort of weapon.
Obsessed with color. Though he never gained any color himself, he's learned a few spells which allows him to steal color and apply it to other things...including himself.
Skin is dry and clay-like, someone give this guy some lotion!
Claycia gave him a second chance and the two seem to be on friendly terms. Things are still tense between him and Elline, but they get along OK for the most part.
Nebula
Physically 14, despite being chronologically older than Crafter and Blade
He's actually a Juvinille Zero. He should've matured by now, but the box set him back by about 15-16 hundred years.
Attempted to destroy Popstar so he could build his own version of "Dark Star", got sealed in a box because of this.
On a positive note, this earned him the nickname "Ruler of the Underworld" long ago.
Developed claustrophobia because of this.
Instead of destroying Popstar, be plans on finding a place to build his own colony when he finally matures...preferably somewhere dark yet warm.
Helped raise Crafter at one point. He also used to watch over Blade, though Blade doesn't remember him.
Talks highly of himself as a coping mechanism.
Things are neutral between him and The Squeaks as long as he doesn't try to possess Daroach again, though he's developed a soft spot for the Squeakers.

Tumblr media
Nismo!! She's a former GSA member with excellent archery skills and wacky horns :] I have a bunch of random stuff about her so perhaps that will be under the cut
-------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the rambling about the kirby oc I made months ago! I have no clue how to write all this out to bullet point facts it is :D
Her horns are constantly growing and are made of a super powerful crystal, so she 'recycles' the trimmings by making it into arrow heads and gems for her armor, among other things. (Along she is old enough to have grown horns/wings (based on the kirby species evolution/growing up theory) she never did so these crystals are actually not natural :D maybe it was an accident with some ancient magic? Maybe it was something help? Who knows)
A large fraction of waddle dees worked in GSA camps and headquarters back in the day. Mostly doing cooking and cleaning, but also trained with spears for back-up. Nismo made crystal spear heads for her favorite waddle dees and would often talk with them despite them being mostly non-verbal. (and highly respected all of them for the work and dedication)
Tumblr media
She moved to dreamland a while after Metaknight came across pop star. She ended up craving a new bow out of a large fallen branch from the fabled Yggy woods, which he had kindly offered to her after she helped protect his part of the forest during a big storm. [Assuming the trees bosses behave a lot like Whispy in the cartoon]
She befriended the greatly talked about bandana waddle dee (he's the talk of the town, spoken about highly amongst his fellow dees for his bravery and how he's such great representation for the dees as a whole) since she thought highly of the waddle dees working in the GSA, after hearing all the adventures this one had been on, she had to check him out for herself. They became quick friends and she made them a spear in whole. Using some leftover wood from yggy as the wooden base and a crystal spear head. (They were introduced through Meta, since her and Metaknight are old friends)
Even after the GSA disbanded, she kept her star symbol on her pauldron. Even though the war only really ended with kirby summoning the star rod, she wore it pridefully. They may have "lost" the war, but they put up the good fight. It was in honor of the fallen she would tell you.
She was Meta Knight's usual partner back in the gsa days . While Meta mastered close range weapons, like the sword, Nismo focused on the bow. Typically the enemy wouldn't even know she was there. She would pick off anyone who got too close to Meta from some shadowed high up place, like trees. (Probably where meta first got the habit of being someplace up high)
The reason Meta sucks at cooking is that he only really made the quick easy and pure energy meals (they sucked ass but were good for hungry soldiers in a pinch) Nismo enjoyed cooking (and especially baking) prior to the war and since she didn't typically get into hand to hand combat. She would be able to cook for everyone at camp sites. Meta got very spoiled on Nismo's cooking and never really learned how to cook for himself (nothing tasty anyways) Unfortunate for him, they lost each other in a brutal battle a little before the "end" of the war. Not to see each other again for several years when Nismo wounded up in dreamland. Sword and Blade were thrilled to see someone other than a waddle dee who can cook for them. Ofc they would still never admit (to Meta's face at least) that his cooking sucks.
Nismo is *barely* taller than MetaKnight without boots (he is deeply wounded by this fact /hj) [also I had this headcanon written down that meta knight is below average height for a puffball due to his growth being tampered with and stunted during his time with nightmare. which I'm not sure about anymore but is kinda interesting!]
Tumblr media
Nismo likely either stopped by dreamland bc she heard a toddler had defeated nightmare. Or just needed fuel and dreamland was a passive planet to obtain that at. No in between.
Nismo isn't well known like Meta knight is, but she was still respected with her fellow gsa members and showed them equal levels of respect throughout her time there.
When asked her favorite color she will respond with hex codes of her very specific favorite colors, her favorite food is pomegranate, and she does not like bugs :)
(I THINK THAT'S ALL THANK YOU FOR READING!! Most of these are just copy paste from stuff I had written down in my discord. She's not the most thought out oc, but I did fixate on her and all things kirby for a pretty long time so ^^; if you have questions feel free to ask!!)

edain priestess meta
hi fellas, it’s mental illness hour.
so this meta post is really going to be focused on the priestess aspect of edain’s character. while she does follow a lot of the stereotypes of a healer that fire emblem tends to have —  graceful pretty holy woman who also happens to be a pacifist is not a one time type for the series  — i do think she is still a very unique and strong character. there’s a reason that i muse her and not any other fire emblem healer here in toa.
with the premise of this meta post set up, let’s get started!
the most interesting thing to me about edain is her background with her family, and how that drives her to become a priestess. one of the first things you learn about her after/when you recruit her is that she initially started out training as a knight. then in the same conversation  you learn that she became a priestess in order to find her sister.
( from Chapter 1 — Girl of The Spirit Forest / Sigurd & Edain )
Edain:
“No, I’m staying. There’s bound to be more injuries further along. I want to help others in the service of the Lord.”
Sigurd:
“Edain… Didn’t you leave the knighthood to become a nun? I think it suits you perfectly. I’d do well to learn a thing or two from you myself.”
Edain:
“Actually, the sole reason I joined the nunnery is… Well, it’s to aid the chances of finding my sister.”
i’m not going to post the whole conversation here, but i think this is a pretty good telling of edain’s character. it’s not much substance but it’s enough that you can infer a decent amount about her personality and what not. she is somewhat of a holy woman yes, but to me i don’t think she was like that before she joined the nunnery. the game doesn’t tell us how long edain was in knighthood but i honestly don’t think it was for very long.
why? well it’s obvious that edain became a nun because she wanted to find her sister no matter what. (i promise this is relevant)—
( from Chapter 3 — Eldigan, The Lionheart / Brigid & Edain)
Edain:
“Yes! I’m your twin sister! You were taken by pirates when you were just 5 years old! I’ve been looking for you for such a long time.”
they’re twin sisters, so we can obviously gleam from this that edain lost her sister when she was five herself. keeping that in mind… i imagine that, from a young age she expressed interest in becoming a knight because of the stories told to her about them. it was probably a pretty high honor to be a knight of house yngvi, and edain wasn’t set to inherit her father’s position thanks to her minor holy blood— brigid was. i also imagine that she thinks she would be able to protect her family as a knight of house yngvi.
however, she would lose that hope of protecting her family as a knight after losing her sister to the sea. her training to be a knight (as little as she had at age five, i’m sure she didn’t do much beyond some reading) would all be for nothing. i think she still goes at knighthood for a while longer while keeping hope that brigid was still out there… but as hope of her sister still being alive is slowly lost in others i think she starts to turn to nunnery.
so, here’s a little timeline to get my thoughts together
Age 4: starts expressing interest in becoming a knight
Age 5: loses her sister to the sea, same year that she starts actually learning anything about knighthood (mostly just reading lessons)
Age 6 — 12: formal physical training. edain could probably wield a bow if she needed to thanks to these years in knighthood.
Age 13: quits knighthood, joins the nunnery instead.
to me, she continues training to knighthood up until her father starts to give up on brigid being alive. she doesn’t think she can do anything as a knight and refuses to lose hope that brigid is still alive and out there somewhere, so she becomes a nun instead.
now, i don’t think she’s your typical nun. while she does say she wants to help others in the service of the lord… i don’t think she necessarily has that much of an attachment to bragi. she really doesn’t mention bragi at all within the script, so i think her attachment to nunnery is more towards being able to help others. obviously bragi is The Religion in grannvale so perhaps she believes her healing powers are thanks to the lord (bragi) but in my mind her prayers are really dedicated to the crusader ullr and her loved ones. she has hope in others and so she prays based on that.
during her time in the nunnery, she really learns to embrace the role of a healer— a caretaker. i imagine that house yngvi put lots of emphasis on how impressive true knighthood was so she never thought about how she might be able to protect her loved ones with healing instead of fighting.
and here’s where her pacifism comes in baby! edain really hates seeing people get hurt, and i don’t think she realized what being a Proper knight would be like until after she leaves knighthood. it hurts to see other people in harm’s way, and she doesn’t enjoy hurting other people either. the nunnery helps her realize that she doesn’t have to hurt others to help them, to protect them.
so even after she finds brigid, the sole reason she had joined the nunnery in the first place, she doesn’t go back to knighthood. she finds that she doesn’t need to, because she much more appreciates the capability to rid her loved ones of her wounds than she does appreciate the capability to kill others in order to protect them.

Another perspective of the Sansa and Sweetrobin Dynamic
cw: contains mentions of rape, abuse, and sexual assault
@rhaenyra-snow I said I would tag you when I got my thoughts together. I am responding to your meta but also some of the comments and discourse I saw surrounding it. So if I get something wrong, let me know. But like I said, a large part of this is a response to the general discourse about Sansa and Sweetrobin. Obviously, you don’t have to read this, if it doesn’t interest you. It did get kind of long lol. And it’s primarily a Sansa meta. But I wanted to tag you, since you wrote the meta I am referring to. I am honestly not here to stir up any more drama, just offer another perspective of Sansa’s arc in regards to motherhood and her relationship with Sweetrobin.
First off, I completely unequivocally agree that Arya, Daenerys, and Brienne exhibit excellent maternal skills and I loved the parts of the meta that described those scenes. They were so lovely and I agree that it is a deconstruction of the typical “gnc character who isn’t maternal” trope. And I am totally here for that! For Arya specifically, as she is so compassionate and sweet and mature in the books!
And while I do think that it would be perfectly fine- and even very interesting for Sansa not to be maternal, I think it is too soon to tell that because of her age, the abusive situation she is in, and because I actually think that GRRM is doing something different in Sansa’s arc with motherhood than he is doing with Arya, Daenerys, and Brienne’s arcs.
I think that Sansa’s situation with Sweetrobin is arguably more fucked up than the situations with Arya, Daenerys, and Pod- not their entire arcs (those are incredibly fucked up, poor children!)- just the specific “tasked with caring for a child” situation. Because even though Arya, Daenerys, and Brienne have been sexually assaulted or threatened with sexual assault, Sansa is still currently being sexually assaulted by Baelish while trying to care for her cousin, who she was almost betrothed to, who was breastfed until eight years old by Sansa’s Aunt, who Baelish murdered because she was trying to throw Sansa through the moon door... there are just a lot of fucked up levels to deal with here. There is a lot to unpack.
That being said, I am not blaming Sweetrobin at all for that. I agree that he is also dealing with PTSD. However, in real life, I would never expect a thirteen year old who is currently being sexually assaulted and groomed to be able to competently care for another child who is also dealing with PTSD, grief, etc. And I wouldn’t expect Arya, Daenerys, or Brienne to deal with it well either. If they do, that’s wonderful, but again, I wouldn’t expect it.
The way I read it, the reason she doesn’t want Sweetrobin in her bed is because he nuzzles her breasts, trying to breastfeed- which is not his fault of course, he is seeking comfort after the death of his mother- but Sansa has a specific trigger because that is where she was groped on her forced wedding night. In the discourse, some fans were saying that Arya would let Sweetrobin sleep with her without any problems. That might be true. But whether or not Arya would allow Sweetrobin to nuzzle her in the same way isn’t really a fair measure of maternal capability because, though she is also an abuse survivor, she may have different triggers than Sansa. Recovery is different for everyone and I would never expect one abuse victim to be okay with a situation just because another abuse victim is.
That being said, I saw in a lot of the comments that people thought Sansa defenders were trying to sexualize breastfeeding. I don’t think that is true. They were saying that Sansa is being triggered. Sexual assault victims can be triggered by things that were not intended to be sexual assault. That’s what sucks about PTSD- it doesn’t care about intent. In fact, even though statistically many mothers who are survivors of molestation and sexual abuse do want to breastfeed in larger numbers than those who don’t- it still can be incredibly difficult and there are support groups and lactation therapy interventions set up specifically to offer support with this issue. That being said, she still allowed him in her room for many nights until she couldn’t take it anymore. And that is because she is compassionate to his situation.
But even if she did not have that specific trigger, everyone has the right not to be touched if they don’t want to be- even if it is to make another person feel better. I know most people agreed with that. However, even though most fans agree with that, a lot of people were critical of the way Sansa handled getting away from her trigger- saying the way she handled the situation is proof that she is not maternal.
I also saw people saying that Sansa was being deliberately cruel to Sweetrobin when she had his door locked. I am not going to try to defend that choice. I don’t think it was the right thing to do objectively. However, I can totally empathize with the fact that she is completely out of her depth here and does not know how to handle the situation. And like most people her age, I do not think she thought it through completely. And even then, she does let him back in her room after this incident and he sleeps with her multiple times afterwards:
He cuddled close and laid his head between her breasts. "Alayne? Are you my mother now?""I suppose I am," she said. If a lie was kindly meant, there was no harm in it.
Would Arya have made the same mistake? I agree that she would probably have been more direct. But like I said, I do think that Sweetrobin is a more difficult situation that Weasel, Missandei, or Pod. I can’t imagine any of those three children wanting to be breastfed by Arya, Daenerys, or Brienne. I also don’t remember anything described about them having horrible temper tantrums where they throw porridge bowls at people or threaten to execute people by throwing them down the moon door. I’m not saying that it is Sweetrobin’s fault- it is a result of how he was raised and how frightened and grief stricken he is- But that does make it a bit more difficult for Sansa to do the perfect motherly thing all the time in this situation. It would be hard for an adult woman to be perfect as well. Even though it is more difficult to care for Sweetrobin (through no fault of his own) Sansa is the only person that is able to do it- and people call on her to do so all the time when they can’t manage him- which I think does show that she is maternal:
"If m'lady can talk him out of bed nice," the knight said, "I won't have to drag him out." We can't have that, she told herself.
and
"Be careful," Alayne told her. "He can hurt you, flailing. You wouldn't think so, but he can." They found a place for him, a cleft in the rock to keep him out of the cold wind. Alayne tended him until the shaking passed, whilst Mya went back to help the others cross.
This shows that she has compassion and understands that it is not his fault he has seizures. It shows that she is willing to stay and tend to him when others back off. She is also able to get him down the mountain when he is understandably terrified.
He is afraid, she thought, and with good reason. Since his lady mother had fallen, the boy would not even stand upon a balcony, and the way from the Eyrie to the Gates of the Moon was perilous enough to daunt anyone.
"Mya will keep the mules from biting," Alayne said, "and I'll be riding just behind you. I'm only a girl, not as brave or strong as you. If I can do it, I know you can, Sweetrobin."
Alayne took Robert’s gloved hand in her own to stop his shaking.
“Sweetrobin,” she said, “I’m scared. Hold my hand, and help me get across. I know you’re not afraid.”
He looked at her, his pupils small dark pinpricks in eyes as big and white as eggs. “I’m not?”
“Not you. You’re my winged knight, Ser Sweetrobin.”
“The Winged Knight could fly,” Robert whispered.
“Higher than the mountains.” She gave his hand a squeeze.
She makes him feel safe and she makes him feel capable. This in and of itself is an example of good mothering skills.
I said before that I think GRRM is doing something different with the maternal motifs in Arya, Daenerys, and Brienne versus Sansa. I think that in Arya, Daenerys and Brienne’s chapters the motherhood themes are there to reveal their characters- to show the readers how compassionate they are and establish them as protectors- on this we completely agree.
I think where we disagree is that I don’t think that the motherhood theme in Sansa’s chapters are there to deconstruct her mothering skills as an individual but more to deconstruct mothering itself. Sansa is a learning character- her arc has a lot to do with unlearning the patriarchal lies she has been raised with while also learning how to survive within those constraints. She fantasized about knights and princes. So she learns the hard way that knights are not always virtuous, that handsome princes can be horrifically cruel, etc. She also fantasized about motherhood. And now she is learning that motherhood is harder than she thought. Yes mothering instinct is one thing- and Sansa’s instinct is to be compassionate to Sweetrobin. But what happens when the child is dealing with grief or has special needs, or you have no real help or you are dealing with traumatic stress yourself? Motherhood is hard as hell even for adult women who chose it, not to mention how hard it must be for girls who are Arya and Sansa’s ages. In spite of that, I do think that Sansa is rising to the occasion- not as immediately as Arya, Daenerys, or Brienne perhaps. But steadily- and I think that fits her arc since her motherhood themes are character development ones instead of character illuminating ones.
Because of this, it kind of reminds me of when people wrongly call Daenerys a bad ruler based on her ruling of Mereen. That pisses me off so much! Because Daenerys is given the most difficult ruling arc in the series. I agree wholeheartedly with the metas I have read that she is the answer to GRRM’s original question about the knitty grittiness of ruling instead of “and he ruled wisely and well.” She is an excellent ruler but her chapters are showing that ruling is fucking hard, even when you are excellent. Just as Daenerys is the answer to “he ruled wisely and well,” I think Sansa and Sweetrobin is the answer to, “she took the child under her wing and was a perfect mother to him.” Given the incredibly difficult circumstances, she is learning to be a truly excellent caretaker of him.
And look, I am not saying that Sansa is perfect! I’m not saying she is not mean spirited or petty at times. I’m also not saying that locking Sweetrobin in his room was the correct way to deal with the situation. I’m not saying any of those things. But what is compelling to me (and what I personally love about Sansa) is that she has done mean spirited things, but also extremely kind things. She is capable of sass and meanness and also true compassion. I’m genuinely not trying to erase her flaws. I know some fans do that. But fans do that with literally all the characters. I personally love her, flaws and all. I mean, I am a Theon fan first and foremost so... it doesn’t bother me when I read about her frustrations with Sweetrobin. I think it’s a realistic reaction and understandable.
And we do see that she is frustrated as hell with Sweetrobin at times, but she never lets it show- she is always sweet and soothing to him after Lysa dies. Real mothers also get extremely frustrated with their children sometimes and they strive to keep the same kind of patience that Sansa does.
Perhaps we should view her locking him in his room as a thirteen year old abuse victim’s way of dealing with the fact that she didn’t trust herself to be sweet while voicing her frustrations with him. It was the wrong move, but she’s thirteen. Perhaps one of the actual adults in the situation could have stepped in at that point. But they don’t. And in spite of that incident, she does let him sleep with her again. She puts her own feelings aside for his. Which means that she lets him nuzzle her, even though it triggers her. It also means she gets up at night after he has a seizure to change the bed and to clean him up. This shows me that she is striving to overcome her own feelings in order to help this defenseless child. She even says here:
Why not surround him with Winged Knights? She had thought one night, after Sweetrobin had finally drifted off to sleep. His own Kingsguard, to keep him safe and make him brave.
This shows that she is continuing to let him sleep with her and also thinking about ways to protect him and give him a sense of security after he has fallen asleep. Which is incredibly maternal. Sansa is truly rising to the occasion of being motherly to Sweetrobin in spite of her triggers and her own current traumatic stress. But what is so heartbreaking is- she shouldn’t have to! And neither should Arya. They are both abused children that desperately need their own mother. So when they make mistakes with child care, I think we can view those mistakes with compassion.
Now, I know that all I just wrote might sound ridiculous if you believe that Sansa is knowingly poisoning Sweetrobin. I personally do not take that view. I think it is just as unfounded as people who think that Daenerys will burn Kings Landing.
I actually think that Sansa is going to eventually break out from Baelish’s manipulation and abuse and save Sweetrobin or at least try to. I think that Little Finger constantly making her an accomplice is similar to Theon with Ramsay and how he eventually saves Jeyne- but that is another meta for another time (which I do intend to write lol) and this has gotten way too long already.
Now, I could be totally wrong about all of this. As I said, this is just my interpretation- but who knows when it comes to GRRM? My faith in him has been significantly shaken based on the end of the TV series and the way he writes the sexual scenes in the books... Perhaps he is trying to say that Sansa is not maternal because she reacts the way she does to being triggered as a thirteen year old, while living in the same household as one of her abusers. But if that is the case, it is deeply misogynistic of him.
It’s also odd that we even have to have this discussion about children caring for other children as if they were adults. Is it really fair to judge any of these characters about their maternal instincts or how they rise to the occasion of being motherly when they are all children themselves and put in such horrible situations that would be daunting for adult women? This seems to be largely on GRRM’s writing. Also the fact that we never debate how “fatherly” Jon, Robb, Theon, or Bran are, which again, possibly has to do with the writing itself. So perhaps instead of fighting each other over whose interpretation is more misogynistic, we should take a hard look at how misogynistic the writing is in and of itself. Hopefully GRRM can tie this up so that it is not as misogynistic as I fear it might be. (I truly hope so.) But that is a larger conversation to be had.

Malex and Sovereignty
Ooooh boy, settle in, folks, have I got a meta for you!  This is not leaving me alone, so I had to type it up and get it out, ha.
One of the things I love about art and media is that they are up for interpretation.  The creator brings certain views and intentions, and then all consumers of the art come to it with their own backgrounds and perspectives, and may interpret the art in different ways. There are as many perfectly valid ways to interpret art as there are consumers and creators of art, and each interpretation is intensely personal.
I was reminded of this when I read some of the discourse around the fire pit scene with Michael and Alex in episode 2x04, and I wanted to share my own personal interpretation and perspective. As mentioned above, this certainly isn’t representative of every viewpoint, and it is heavily colored by my own background and interests.
I saw this scene as an act of respect and love.  Because in my personal lexicon, sovereignty, freedom, autonomy, and agency are some of the deepest human desires, and enhancing these qualities, in oneself and others, in an act of love and care.
I am no scholar of the Arthurian legends, but one particular story that always resonated with me is the legend of Sir Gawain and Dame Ragnell (also known as the Loathely Lady).  It’s easy to lookup online and (consistent with the central thesis of this post) there are many different versions and interpretations.  In a nutshell, though, King Arthur has been tasked with determining what women most desire, or he is to die.  Typical patriarchal answers ensue (Jewelry! Clothes! Attention! A handsome strong husband!), and then they encounter an older, unattractive woman in the woods (ahhh the crone –  the scariest iteration of woman known to man, yes? An older, wise woman without sexual currency, ha). She sees their struggles with the riddle and makes a deal – she will tell them the answer in exchange for a marriage with an attractive young knight – Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s nephew. Everyone agrees, and she gives them the answer – a woman most desires SOVEREIGNTY (“to rule our lives as we see fit, to not be beholden to another,” says one version). I would argue that EVERYONE, not just women, desires sovereignty.  This is the correct answer, Gawain and the crone, Dame Ragnell marry, and in the bed chamber, it is revealed that Dame Ragnell transforms into a beautiful young woman when night falls.  She informs Gawain that he may choose whether she is beautiful by night or day.  Ultimately, he respects her sovereignty and allows her to make the choice herself, thus breaking the curse and allowing her to embody the form of her choosing at the time of her choosing.
When I watched the scene with Michael and Alex at the fire pit, two things stood out most to me.  First, Alex’s transparency.  He is being so open here, which is unusual for him.  He gives the spaceship piece to Michael.  Acknowledges that he has had it for a while.  Tells him he kept it because he didn’t want him to go, and says that he will not stand in Michael’s way.   This is huge for Alex!  This is a character that typically does not prioritize what he wants, a character who at times tries to overcontrol situations and shoulder quite a bit of responsibility for the outcomes of a situation. Likely a lot of this developed while living in an abusive household and got strengthened during his decade of military service. Not a lot of room for sovereignty in either of those settings.
And that is the second thing that stood out to me – sovereignty.  Alex gave Michael the spaceship piece and communicated that he will not stand in Michael’s way, regardless of what he decides to do with this.  I can see how some may interpret this as him giving up on the relationship, but I viewed this as such an intense act of caring and respect. Of love.  Because rather than try to guide the outcome of this situation, rather than withholding the spaceship piece, he is allowing Michael to choose. Whether they were in a relationship or not, I believe I would view this as both an act of love and an act of growth, for Alex.
I also think, personally, that this is a gesture that Michael can understand. The spaceship is given without strings, for Michael to do with as he pleases. Michael is also from an abusive background where he had very little autonomy, and he has communicated to Alex his displeasure with his perceived lack of agency in their relationship in the past.  Not only that, he equates other people’s gifts and acts of service as charity and is distrustful of accepting such help for fear of “owing” others something.  For Alex to grant Michael the choice here, with no additional expectations… in my head canon, painful as this scene was, I believe Michael may be able to see the love that was behind this gesture more clearly than other assistance Alex has given him.
And yes, you better believe I am starting a new Malex fanfiction version of Sir Gawain and the Dame Ragnell, haha!

Re: what rough beast -- some awesome reactions :)
Because the original post was so long, I thought I’d not reblog it but rather make some answers their own post.
From
aeon-warden We need more amazing meta like this... I really admire Webigaza’s bravery since last year it took me four months only to repair my broken jaw (I may be counted as a “cyborg” too since there are lifelong titanium plates in my cranial bones now :p). Having such a small part of your body replaced is already as painful as hell. I can’t almost imagine what Webigaza has paid for to be 71% modified or even more, like Genos, Destro, Elimin or possibly Drive Knight.
Ouch!  I hope your jaw is fully-healed now.
The dictionary definition of a cyborg is: “a person whose physiological functioning is aided by or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic device.“  IRL, there are millions of cyborgs, a.k.a. people whose lives have been made better by human ingenuity.
Because we’re in a story where the technology is good enough to do more than just restore function,  and thus people can opt for body modification to suit their purposes,  but for all that, it’s makes a pretty grounded treatment of cyborgs. We’re following heroes around, so it’s little wonder that we see the heroes who are inclined and able to get parts opt to modify them to help their heroic endeavours.   But not everyone: Iaian has opted not to get a prosthetic arm thus far, and Blue Fire is sporting a regular split hook arm (if I’m remembering Murata’s drawing correctly). That is as it should be -- there’s no need to justify what you do with your body to anyone.
Tumblr media
and not everyone is ‘lucky’ to be just looking at limb loss -- it looks like One-Shotter has had half his head reconstructed at one stage.  Which, ironically, saved his life.
I really appreciate Koko explaining what people who choose body modfications driven by choice and profit opt for -- and that they’re quite ordinary.  And his marvelling at Webigaza, at the sheer resolve that has to lie behind opting for such high-risk surgery and what sounds like six months of hell.
I know, I know, I shouldn’t be so happy at a story that takes human agency seriously and treats its removal as a great crime, but I am.
From @the-nysh
Tumblr media
I will always agree that ONE is one sneaky bastard. :D  The single biggest realisation for me has been that Genos is just telling the truth.  No matter how crazy or disturbing it sounds, it’s just the truth as he sees it -- and he sees pretty well.  But there’s three take aways I wish I’d gotten to!
1. Absolutely I cannot know how ONE envisages things.  However, an adult human brain is about 2% of body weight,  so when we see Destro and Erimin at 5% and 6% body weight, we now know that ONE sees even the most extreme cyborgs as needing some body to support that brain.  Which, I’ll admit, was a bit gratifying to see.
2. Even in OPM, if a medic could open up Genos or his brothers in chrome,  their bodies would make no sense.  How are they even alive?  Never mind well!
3. Koko’s reaction of skin-crawling horror is very much the typical response you’d expect from someone confronted with something that’s human, but *wrong*.   To wonder at the kind of mindset that opts to do something so radical to themselves or indeed, who agrees to carry out such a procedure.
Tumblr media
It contrasts so well with Saitama’s nonchalant reaction when Genos tells him about his mechanical body:
Tumblr media
But that’s Saitama for you.  From the very beginning, he has always been able to see the person beneath the skin.

The inhabitants of PopStar were observing the distant Celestial Arena, on which the long and bloody battle against the Destroyer of the Worlds, Void Termina, was taking place.
It had been many hours since the Star Allies, the newly formed group made up of friends and former enemies of the young Kirby, the hero of the Prophecy who had always defended his beloved Gamble Galaxy, had begun the battle on which the lives of all of them depended.
And finally came the typical explosion that heralded the end of the Eldreitch God that threatened the stillness of their Galaxy.
Everyone burst into a joyous chorus, but it stopped when they saw the Star Allies arrive; All were on their Friend Stars, while Meta Knight, King Dedede and Bandee, three of the four Core Members of the Star Allies, were traveling on the Sparkler.
But... one was missing from the roll; the young Star Warrior was absent... and the remaining Star Allies appeared... destroyed, dead.
Everyone fell silent, and after a while Sir Arthur stepped forward, overcoming his fear of asking the fateful question: "... What is ... what happened? Where is Kirby ...?"
The other Star Allies grew dark-faced, while their hearts seemed to be gripped by a grip of guilt.
Then, Meta Knight went in front of his father. "... Void Termina was successfully defeated... but Kirby..." the knight bit his lip, looking down "... the Titan took him away with him, and Kirby prevented us from saving him... "
His words froze those present, who finally realized that their Hero of the Stars was gone, that the one who for years had put himself in the forefront to save them and so many others from Eldreitch Gods had been taken away by a of the creatures he had fought all his life. Kirby, the Star Child, the one who had changed so many lives, the one who was able to forgive and befriend even those who had betrayed him or tried to kill him... he was gone, and not even the Stars could bring him back.
And now, without the young Kiridian of infinite power... how could they have lived on?
How would they have gone on without the always happy and smiling little boy, always ready to help everyone? How would they go on without seeing again his joyful smile, his eternal happiness?
Now they would have to go on without him, no matter what happened.
The Star Allies had made him one last promise, to carry on his task, whatever it takes.

act 0. observer’s notes your name is….. occult, the remnants of antiquated ‘ichor’ theory meta.
Rugged and torn leather cover, its moss green color held a title that most eyes wouldn’t be able to translate; if anything, the words read more like markings as opposed to a formal and recognizable alphabet.
- ACT. ????, outlandish occultic occupancy.
Tumblr media
*For clarity purposes: Read ichor as having two forms: its material concentration (used primary by machinery nowadays) and its emitted energy emitted that has flow and connection to living matter and reality.
At pivot of magical ingenuity was the equally technologically breaking and devastatingly powerful Order and ichor-infused knights. While the prestige of the Order’s influence has long since dissipated from dominant culture of Topaxi alliance, and the fallout of the empire it originated from, they remain the most commonly recognized basis and symbol of the empire’s advancements into the future.
However, the development of ichor manipulation and human subjects is one that rests upon a foundation of modern and scientific findings and research into the stability, security, and utility of ichor. expanded much into the golden era of the Empire. Though, what is imperative is to realize that all foundations to greatness once preceded another that would soon be lost to time. It is the larger bank underneath the modernity of the times. A long since recognized and theoretical unbound.
This time period we will formally refer to as the “antes de mecanism” or AM for short.
During AM, salvaging and refining ichor wasn’t a conquest but a partnership between both unrivaled and untouchable power and humans. The usefulness and depth of ichor to be a human enhancer  hadn’t been recognized during this time; it was seen an untapped and respected entity of sorts, only those capable of respecting and devoting time, blood, sweat, and every mortal fiber of their person to it would be able to be ‘granted permission’ to use it.
Most of what can be harnessed wasn’t completely possible without the creations of a language. Just in the way that humans have created speech and scripture, accumulating each utterance and reference to have meaning in a common symbol, humans developed a language around magic. This will be referred to as raíz.  Just like common languages differed, as did raíz, as the concentration, nature, and flow of ichor varies differently throughout the world and has more specifics to how it must be used.
However, the bridge between ichor and humans wasn’t completely raíz, as it was only a human equivalence of translating the true nature of ichor and how to conduct it. Under raíz is the universal laws of ichor, all of which cannot be given phonetics and cannot be pronounced normally like how a human would practice their common language.
Understanding this true nature meant to coast around the immaterial, uncontrollable reality that existed between planes ; it is paper-thin and invisible to humankind. It exists between the boundaries of all life forms and the planet they inhabit. It is the subspace that ichor naturally travels and the same space that ichor, at its core, can be channeled through.
This language does exist by human hands, but it was written by ichor itself. Devotees of acquiring knowledge, known as magi, were able to create writing instruments that could temporarily channel ichor at its raw state. Onto paper, the instrument would begin writing and creating shapes for whatever object, person, other material forms were nearby. Each material form is known to have a glyph. There are variations of glyphs that exist to indicate actions, movement, and change too. One can then create a unique sigil through combining glyphs that behaves like a pre-coded command.
Access to glyphs and knowing of its existence was very far and few in-between. Most populations relied on raíz and were only aware of the secondary language.
As a sword to its knight, as too was a grimoire/tome, scroll, and tablet were to the magi. These were the tools necessary to exchange knowledge and glyphs, as well as use them. It is required for them to use these tools. Other variations existed but they weren’t as safe. In current times, and MUCH earlier in this age, most of these artifacts were destroyed. As to why they were, well, it was considered mainly ‘unsafe practice’ and ordered to be destroyed by major empires. However, this can very well be a ploy to remove knowledge and power from civilians and keep such power available only for the elite and wealthy.
Only very few ancient writings remain and all are written in these dead languages (sometimes all in regional raíz , glyphs, or a combination of the two) that a normal person would find useless/unable to be understood. It’s basically the equivalent of them seeing chicken scratch and nonsensical scribbles..
In the time before mechanical ichor handling was possible, there were several forms created that were attempts to harbor its power. These would be the ‘lost arts’ that varied by culture, location, etc.
Lost arts would include, but are not limited to:
Possession of a cemi on the person, acting as a concentration and anchor for ichor. This used either raíz or glyphs -- sometimes both (which is possible to mix in order to cast magic). Considered one that has greatest outcome for the type of spell casting. However, it is the most demanding on the subject and tends to greatly reduce their life expectancy. Lost texts have also described a personality shift in the person and distinct change in features like having a ‘glassy look’ in their eyes. It is almost as if the original life had been sapped out of the body in place of the magic.
Sundials that have raíz inscribed around the round base, all of which are related to the unique function and purpose of its wielder. It is one, however, that isn’t transportable and has to be fixed into the ground. Depending on the time and weather, and where it shadows landed, was considered the most opportune time to partake in particular magical spells that is heightened by ichor. This method was popular mostly for artisans, blacksmiths, and other careers that had a ‘home base’ for work from.
Tattooing transmuted ichor into one’s body, allowing them a range of casting possibility and ability to bend elements around them. This technique used glyphs. The particular ‘hot spots’ to tattoo would be centered around the five senses (face, hands and feet). This one fell out of fashion as quickly as it was introduced due to the horrific ramifications of overexerting ichor through an unprepared and unfit subject. It ended with human combustion, sudden suffocation/collapse of the lungs, spontaneous and rapid growth and decaying of limbs, etc.
Ichor, as previously mentioned, was portrayed by most to have its distinct characteristics that placed emphasis on the the power it has over people, rather than the people having power over it. Alluded to in the ‘lost arts,’ there were many effects for those who tried to overwhelm themselves with power and tried to exploit the capability with ichor. It is by the fact that ichor carries an immaterial presence and its energy exists the spaces of reality and acts as a conduit between living matter and magic. A space that not humans do not naturally exist in, but only around it. Avarice can lead to negative consequence, especially for beings not made to survive in that plane.
Miasma refers to the repercussions of ichor usage/magic casting. Back in AM, the term specifically referred to the repercussions of unregulated and overabundant that ichor would do to the ‘soul’ of a being. It’s commonly depicted in tales and art as a seed; it is a corruption that slowly reveals itself like a plant growing inside the person’s body that takes a toll on their physical form. Miasma does not appear the same for everyone during that time, but there will always be the fact that the affected areas revolve around where the magic is concentrated (hands, eyes, ears, mouth, chest, etc). In the case of which ichor was used for internal improvements, for example,  the flesh could have discoloration over vital organs.
"Depues de mecanism” (DM) finds that miasma can be referred to any repercussion that ichor has on a subject. This extends away from only being about ichor usage/magic casting. .
There isn’t a supernatural element or ‘corruption’ theme surrounding it anymore, as science theorize it as the body reacting to overexposure to ichor. Instead of corruption, however,  it is now referred to as ‘rot’ by common people and not all supernatural connections were cut from it.
Modern medicine has helped those who suffer from miasma with things like sedatives, pain relievers,  psycho-pharmaceuticals, or any other drugs to specifically alleviate symptoms. Miasma, in this case, isn’t seen as permanent for those generally exposed to it .
However, not all miasma can be handled with drugs. Those capable of ichor usage/magic casting* still suffer permanent psychological and physical scarring and alterations to their psyche/body. Thankfully, these cases aren’t as extreme and deadly as they were back in the day.
( *coming up soon w/ explanation )
In the current state of the world, most countries under the Topaxi alliance have forgotten. Most instead look towards more updated and published works, a great amount unaware of the antiquated groundwork. One would find that in reference to ichor, most would only reference creations and discoveries made during DM and only a handful of AM creations (ie: sundial) that existed at the end of AM/beginning of DM.
Current countries under the Topaxi alliance long have forgotten these customs and practices. However, it is commonly found in smaller countries that pose no militant threat but get ichor concentrations. Similarly, however, a lot of the theories and practices have long since out-of-fashion and magic casting isn’t as typical or sought-out anymore (unless in cases of specializations, academics, and high-ranking officials).
However, in both the Topaxi alliance and remaining countries, there are still remnants.  Language integration has happened in Topaxi that has combined raíz into local dialect.  The same could be applied for glyphs, but they are only used as symbols to refer to particular buildings, and guilds. These languages do not possess any power unless if they’re being used by the trained magi or certain people.
These ‘certain people’ were once the subject of debates for scholars and researchers during AM. The future that was theorized for them, however, was lost to history.
The innate, those who were adept in ichor channeling without needing to dedicate themselves to academics or use glyphs and raiz to use magic. Innates were considered the ‘path of the future’ as their bodies are naturally possessing abilities to have ichor flow through them (not that they are born with it, but think of them as prisms). This, in itself, is a mutation; they transcend the need to use the magic languages to cast spells, do not need spells to use ichor, and their ability is usually naturally occurring and always active.
This ability is extremely rare and the chances of having it if there’s an extended family history of ichor exposure (or genetics, give or take). The innate usually have one of these senses altered by the ichor and provides them a unique ability to interact with living matter and reality. Sometimes, the ichor allows them enter/see/hear/talk in ways humanly impossible. The innate, as well, can naturally translate/read/understand glyphs.  Raíz is a different case, given that it varies per region and still functions in the sanctions of human languages. It has to be learned just like any other language.
Tose who are innate are often not aware of such a mutation or even the title they possess. All information are kept by magi and made exclusive to them. It is without saying, however, that these gifts are often kept quiet about and are not usually shared with anyone. Tales of those naturally controlling ichor are usually ones that end with disappearances, short lives, and worse fates. These are stories that not all know, but it is the risk of standing out that would usually keep others on the alert and secretive.
The innate, versus the acquired (anyone else who can channel ichor/cast magic), have uncharted possibilities and growth available to them. And it is the fact that they’re unbound that makes them terrifying, even profitable.
However, in the rise of new history awaiting to be made, the remainders of the past have not always slumbered peacefully in its death. The innate still linger in a society that will soon be met with tides of great change in the city of Topaxi.
A once ancient civilization, perched upon a sky-breaking mountain, is now home to another presence. But the spirit of the ancestors have never left. All are bound to the past and all are as capable to be subjected to meet the phantoms past in present day.
“I felt that..” A shiver down their spine, a phantom sensation embracing their mortal coil. They turn their cheek, locks of silver dancing in the autumn breeze, eyes wide and intent on discovering the source.
Tumblr media
“Whatever that was.”
The phantasm arts, will it make its undead return?
NOTES:  This only one school of practice (and theory) used to understand and channel ichor. Not all countries and cultures would have the same developments surrounding ichor. (This is basically me saying this isn’t cemented and more pathways are available and you can write your own interpretation.)
Topaxi residents will not be aware of this extensive history. This should be considered something entirely scholarly and academic that is branched from others. Those from smaller countries (as described before) would have familiarity with the customs, but not the complete story.
Yon mentioned this before, but magic is STILL not at all common with people. It is completely rare and the same can be said for ye ol’ days. It was just more accessible to the lower classes and was vastly present in conversation (but not practiced).

Sir Nighteye
Tumblr media
Ok, I watched the anime and felt like doing another character meme!
Spoilers for Overhaul arc/season four of the anime.
Favorite thing about him:
I like that Nighteye didn’t allow his admiration of All Might to turn him into a pushover. Such adulation could have blinded him to All Might’s flaws, something Midoriya struggles with, but Nighteye stood firm, spoke his mind, and took action in accordance with what he believed. The way Nighteye willingly, gladly admits to being wrong (about Midoriya and All Might’s decision to fight fate) makes it clear that it wasn’t pride that drove Nighteye away from All Might, but actually principles and genuine concern/panic. Nighteye was happy to be wrong, even though it meant that his failures to change the future were true failures and not simply something out of his control. Knowing this enabled Nighteye to let go of his underlying fear that his quirk didn’t just see the future, it set the future in stone, and he’s able to die peacefully after giving All Might and Midoriya his full, unconditional approval, and after internally apologizing to Mirio for seeing him as a vessel before realizing the error of his ways.
Nighteye presumably awakened his quirk when was four or five, and he was thirty-eight when he died. That’s thirty-four years—he could have used his quirk easily thousands of times, maybe more than ten-thousand—and never once has the future significantly deviated from what he saw. Essentially, his quirk’s been the daily Word Of God since he was five years old. It’s easy for Midoriya or Rock Lock to say, bring it on, I can smash fate; for Nighteye, who has actually tried, it’s a completely different ballgame. He knows what it MEANS to try to change to fate, but he’s determined to try anyways.
I like the balance Nighteye strikes between fierce idealism and calculated realism. Yeah, the narrative often criticizes realism for not being plus ultra, but it’s a quality I like. Nighteye wanted to carefully plan Eri’s rescue and Overhaul’s arrest, but his caution didn’t make him any less committed or passionate, or any less admirable than anyone who would have (tried to) saved her immediately (it’s not like Overhaul would let anyone walk away with her).
I like his hero name. The Sir invokes the honor of a knight, All Might’s vassal, the “eye” is obvious, and “night” because he can see in the “dark”: the future is clear to him. Plus, I like the night/knight pun.
I also like just how gangly, angular, and weird he looks. He has some quality body language with the angle of his head.
Least favorite thing about him:
His stamps…his abs…come on. He doesn’t need to a fantastic fighter. His stamps are a funny weapon to be sure, but it irritates me that they’re as strong as they are. It’s ridiculous that Nighteye could cartoonishly hurl Rappa the way he did, and it was stupid to tear his shirt to show off how ripped he was. I felt like Horikoshi was trying to show us that Nighteye meets the standards of a conventional hero, when he could be just as much of a hero using his brain. At the most, someone like Nighteye, who emphasizes logic and excels at predicting opponents’ next moves, should be carrying a gun like the police.
The tickle machine. Eughh. I could barf at how much I hate it.
It’s also frustrating that Nighteye completely wrote Midoriya off as a “quirkless middle-schooler” who could never become the Symbol of Peace and actively undermined All Might even now that he was finally raising a successor. I can at least respect how upfront he is about it: Midoriya knows what he’s getting into by the time he submits his work study application to UA. But even without that, Nighteye doesn’t trouble me as much as he did the first time I read the manga because 1) I figure Nighteye saw Midoriya when he foresaw All Might’s doomed future, because Midoriya is such a big part of his life that of course Nighteye saw him, 2) Nighteye is aware that they’re working on an extremely tight timeline: All Might is due to die within the next year or two, so picking a baby successor who’s going to need tons of hands-on guidance is a bad move, and 3) Nighteye paid the price for his “quirkless” comment when Mirio lost his quirk, and, despite what he said, it was clear that he didn’t love Mirio less, or respect him less as a hero, because of it.
I like that Nighteye appreciates humor, but his final speech about laughter and smiling, combined with Mirio’s determinedly positive reaction, makes me think that he may not have taught Mirio that it’s okay to be sad, that you don’t need to always smile. That would be a disappointing failure on Nighteye’s part, since the overwhelming pressure All Might feels to be positive+proactive is part of what made him unable to accept Nighteye’s criticism. It also fits with how Nighteye’s inner monologues tend to be more sympathetic than his actual dialogue, so maybe Nighteye should have tried to be less didactic and tell Mirio that he has been Nighteye’s pride and joy, instead of thinking that and giving Mirio a last speech on the importance of smiles and humor. I think he would have been a better teacher if he’d allowed himself to be more sentimental.
Favorite line:
My absolute favorite is in ch137, as he observes Mirio’s guilt from letting Overhaul retrieve Eri and bring her back to his headquarters. Nighteye thinks:
I can’t say whether or not the future can be changed. But we can change the past. How we view the past and interpret it. That much is possible.
It’s an important life lesson, and I like how he inverts the typical, “the past can’t be changed, but you can control the future so that’s what matters” perspective.
I also like it in ch130, when Nighteye berates-slash-comforts Midoriya, who regrets allowing Overhaul take Eri back: “Enough of that arrogant thinking! Haste makes waste. Go after him haphazardly, and he’ll slip through our fingers. You’re not quite so special as to save whom you want, when you want.” Then he elaborates on their plan and finishes with a bang: “The world is not so accommodating that you can act the hero because you feel like it. The cleverest villains out there lurk in the shadows. There will be times when every precaution must be taken.”
One more, in ch161. When he’s on his deathbed, Nighteye looks at Mirio and thinks, In the beginning…I only brought you in as a potential vessel, but you stuck by me, believed in me, and at some point…you became my pride and joy.
BROTP:
Him and Mirio. I love how Nighteye took Mirio under his wing in a half-logical way, viewing him as All Might’s proper successor, only to accidentally raise Mirio as his own successor.
I wish we got to see Nighteye and Aizawa interact more. They’re both the rational mentors who get attached to their kids. It would have been nice to see Aizawa talk to Nighteye about his problem child or about Mirio, or to help Midoriya navigate his relationship with Nighteye, but since Aizawa doesn’t know about OfA and Nighteye was on his way out anyways…oh well.
I’d also love to have seen Nighteye and Hawks interact. They’re connected on a meta level, as the unofficial righthand men of the #1 heroes, and also by the idea of fate. Nighteye’s arc centered on the fact he could see the future, and the future he saw could not be changed. Hawks may or may not know it, but the imagery surrounding him is unmistakeable, and we the readers know that some sort of doom is waiting for the man who goes too fast. Whether Hawks can defy fate or if he’ll be crushed by it remains to be seen (and, like Nighteye, he’s not looking promising).
Hawks takes one look at Nighteye—perfectly pressed suit, pinched, no-nonsense expression and all—and is like oh this guy looks like he’s gonna be fun. Nighteye looks even more tightly wound than Endeavor. But actually, Nighteye actually respects and appreciates Hawks’s cavalier attitude! And though they rarely see each other, since they live far apart, they become friends who mainly swap information and keep each other up to date on villain things. Occasionally Hawks will see something ridiculous, like a meme or something, and send it to Nighteye, and Nighteye follows Hawks on social media and sometimes likes his stuff.
It’d be especially interesting to see them disagree about All Might. Nighteye is such a hardcore fanboy, Hawks professes to not be a fan, the Symbol of Peace is such an important part of how Nighteye envisions the future, and it’d be interesting to hear Hawks’s perspective on the Symbol of Peace and where it fits into his vision of the future.
I also appreciate Nighteye and All Might’s relationship, but like…idk, they got so little time together in canon, I kinda prefer to think of it as a dead brotp. Even if Nighteye had survived, I would kinda want his relationship with All Might not to be very close, because even though they weren’t angry anymore didn’t mean they could pick up where they left off.
OTP:
Hmm…not really anyone. I haven’t read much Nighteye fic. There is this one touching soulmate AU where he and All Might both bear the black symbol of someone who has been rejected by their soulmate…here.
NOTP:
No, not really.
Random headcanon:
One of the reasons he reacted so harshly to Midoriya as All Might’s successor is that when he foresaw All Might’s death, he also saw Midoriya. Midoriya’s failure to protect All Might from his gruesome death revealed him as an unfit successor, and he believes if he can remove Midoriya from the equation, then he will have changed the future.
Nighteye helped All Might track down AfO to avenge Nana, and he felt partially responsible for All Might’s injury in addition to fearing that his quirk set All Might’s future in stone.
Nighteye used his quirk on All Might between surgeries, because he couldn’t stand not knowing whether All Might would survive his wounds from AfO or not. He should have stopped when he saw All Might survived, but—he’s such a fanboy, and he saw that future!him was terrified and arguing with All Might about something, and he knew immediately just from the expression on his own face that he’d foreseen All Might’s death. He couldn’t resist looking ahead to find it and learn how much time All Might had left.
…part of me thinks that the reason Nighteye’s foresight was wrong about Midoriya’s death was because Eri also has a time-related quirk, and there was nothing Midoriya really did to change fate. Which would be sad, but. Yeah.
I’d like to think that Nighteye had a really wacky, judgmental cat with a questionably funny name. It sat on top of the fridge and looked down on him when he came home late. After his death, it becomes his agency’s cat and harbors a dangerous grudge against Bubble Girl’s aromatic bubbles.
Unpopular opinion:
It seems like plenty of people dislike him, so…I like him? He’s not even close to one of my favorites, but still.
Even though I like him, I was surprised to discover he was dead—I forgot he died, so I guess his death scene didn’t leave an impression on me. Looking back on it, I think it’s a nice enough scene, but at the time I was probably too exasperated by the overhaul arc as a whole to care much.
idk, I don’t see people talk about him much.
Song I associate with him:
uh…um…well……there isn’t really any music I associate with him. Here are a few songs that are very loose associations, I guess.
Darkside of the Sun by Tokio Hotel reminds me of how All Might’s public persona has taken over his identity, and Nighteye is seeking to save his life by retiring his persona.
Carry Me Down by Demon Hunter has the line “I know the pain inside my heart / can’t break the fear inside of yours,” which reminds me of Nighteye’s grief can’t persuade All Might to confront the reality of his imminent death, plus other stuff in the song about unspoken regrets and death.
And last, Turns to Dust by Sound Surfer and Nilka reminds me of Shigaraki (for obvious reasons), but I think it also speaks to Nighteye’s fear of his quirk.
Favorite picture of him:
Tumblr media
Ch126 – Nighteye’s glare when Midoriya mimics All Might’s smile! He sure is intimidating 😂
Tumblr media
Episode 75 – This moment did nothing for me in the manga, but it was genuinely moving in the anime. The voice acting and music <3
I’ve also done Todoroki, Bakugo, Uraraka, Endeavor, Amajiki, and Shinsou!

Blogs
A Blog is a regularly updated page that explores ideas around a topic, discipline, subject/subject matter, or interest and is written to create or contribute to a conversation around that idea.
How I Arrived @ My Definition During the process of creating this blog, I experimented with four different site builder/blog hosting sites: Wix, WordPress, Blogger.com, and Tumblr. Each of these sites allow users to create and edit pages with posts that include picture, video, text, links, and audio. Users are given a unique address that they can share, and other users are able to comment, share, and like the page. Now blogs differ from glogs (which primarily use graphics & visitors interact with the digital poster), vlogs (which use video to express ideas or experiences), discussion boards (which typically pose a question or problem for users to respond to) and web pages (which are primarily used to display information or ac as a landing platform for users to find resources) because blogs are usually focused on the creator’s exploration of an idea or topic. The modality of exploration is primarily written, but the creator can, and often does, use audio, video, and outside sources to supplement their exploration.
The blog platform affords itself to sharing. Whether the creator is sharing recipes or photos of a trip to Italy, blogs allow people to show others what they think and what they care about. The conversational nature of a blog also affords itself to response. Users can like a blog post or comment about a similar experience. The whole point of us telling stories or sharing ideas is to make connections over shared experiences. In this sense, a blog is creating a digital community where we can share ideas and work out problems. Users are able to gather outside feedback that they may be unaware of based on their limited personal experiences. The threading of that conversation helps users follow an idea through the collaborative brainstorming process, and hopefully come to a new understanding based on the input received from other contributors.
Other technology such as word processors, websites, and even notebooks allow users to record ideas and explore their own thinking along with others; however, these types of technology synchronous engagement. Google docs is trying to bridge that gap with collaboration features, but those features are not as visible within the program. The beauty of blogging is its ability to create conversation in an asynchronous setting. As new information or ideas are found the conversation continues without having to go back and revise the original post. The other types of technology lend themselves to a feeling of finality, but blogs act as a living record of an expanding thought. Even if the information added to a thread existed at the time of the original blog post, it’s addition doesn’t necessarily negate the original idea, but instead enhances it. In this sense, a blog isn’t about being right or wrong but playing with and exploring an idea.
Examples of Blog Implementation
As an instructional technology specialist, I have recently focused my approach to include Jim Knight’s Impact Cycle for instructional coaching, so both of the examples that follow are ways that I could integrate blogs into this process.
1. Blended Learning Instructional Strategies Blog: This blog will be utilized during professional development sessions, and it  contains research and discussions that focus on instructional practice in a blended learning setting. The blog would substitute for the traditional slideshow presentation that poses open-ended questions or a polling type program (ie. kahoot or nearpod) that you see so often in educational settings. Teachers would be directed to respond to a particular thread and asked to think of a way to tweak or apply an instructional practice and post successes and failures from strategies they have implemented. The thread supplies a scaffolding bringing educators up to speed on the conversation by reading the post and subsequent replies. This scaffolding takes the integration of technology to the level of augmentation, because it allows for asynchronous collaboration in a more authentic environment.
Content
Learning Objectives
Teachers use high-yield instructional strategies to create lessons that maximize their effect size on student learning.
Teachers evaluate their own instruction and identify successes and challenges.
Bloom’s Levels = Create, Evaluate
Pedagogy
This approach stresses collaboration and interaction based on the research and meta-data collected by John Hattie referred to as visible learning. This research attributes student growth, measured by effect size, to a number of factors including instructional strategies. Consistently, collaborative activities score a higher than average effect size, and are therefore a more efficient way of teaching, especially when dealing with adults.
Technology
The ease of reply for the audience and frequency of updates by the creator gives a blog a certain pace. A blog affords itself to quick responses that have an off-the-cuff nature to them. Related sources of text, video, or audio can simply be dropped in the thread and give the topic a fresh dynamic. This keeps the conversation fresh and enables the audience to create relevance.
2. Impact Cycle PLC Blog (Redefinition): I currently work at Del Valle High School, in Del Valle, Texas and our content areas work within professional learning communities (PLCs). I work with these groups to improve instruction and technology integration. I have begun to implement a coaching cycle based on the Impact Cycle by Jim Knight. This cycle involves making goals, collecting data, implementing an instructional strategy, and then evaluating the strategy’s effectiveness (this is just a broad generalization for my purposes, the steps are far more detailed and nuanced). The blog assignment is used as a collaborative project that documents the different steps of the process. Myself and the PLC members are contributors to the blog, and as we progress, we post recordings of lessons, data, revised goals, successes and failures, etc. The blog is also used to guide the conversations we have when I meet with the PLC. As far as SAMR goes, this type of technology integration redefines the activity of meeting and working through a set of questions for each step in the coaching cycle. Instead, teachers have a space to use as a workbench to collect and refer to. The blog acts as a touchstone when so often goals and progress get lost in the immediacy of grading papers and standardized testing.
Content
Teachers use data to evaluate their own instruction and identify successes and challenges.
Teachers create lessons and implement instructional strategies that maximize student achievement and address the challenges they identified.
Pedagogy
Jim Knight’s Impact Cycle for instructional coaching stresses questioning, self-reflection, and ownership of creative ideas. This last part, ownership of ideas, refers to the likelihood of a teacher to try a practice if they feel like it was their idea. A blog is a very unassuming way to present strategies and ask teachers to make it their own; personalize it, rather than forcing teachers to implement a strategy with the implication that they are doing something wrong.
 Technology
The asynchronous nature of blog posting and response affords itself to the busy nature of a teacher’s schedule. The coaching cycle drives a hard line between taking time to ask the right questions and respecting the time of professional educators who deserve to get the most out of their PLC time. The blog format allows teachers to prepare for and participate in discussion of pedagogy when they are able to. Growth needs to be able to happen whenever they need it to, and the blog format allows teachers that possibility even if they had an ARD or any number of responsibilities pop up during our planned meeting.
Obstacles
A blog’s rapid response nature does mean that ideally you will get a large number of responses, and of those responses, many will express similar ideas. A source can be overwhelming if it presents too much information. Students can become disengaged when a resource contains multiple redundancies. However, I would argue that the benefits of engaging in a conversation and the ease of which contributors can mix mediums outweighs any detriment concerning over-saturation.

Random Story Facts Tag Game
Created by @fataleromeo
Please use the hashtag [ #randomsf tag ] so I can check yours out!
We all have them. Little bits of our stories that exist only in our heads. Things we know but never seem to find a way to share for whatever reason. Or maybe you’ve mentioned it in passing but haven’t gotten a chance to explain. Either way, here’s your opportunity to spill!
Rules: Copy and paste this into a new post and then tell us five (5!) little bits of trivia about your story. It can be about the characters, plot, you name it. Then tag a few storytelling friends and keep the game going!
I was tagged by The badass @streetlightaurora  Who yelled at me for liking pineapple on Pizza AND NOW YOU ALL KNOW!  -
Okay, here it goes. It took a while and it’s something I wanted to do for some time but can’t bring myself to do it But anyway here we go... you won’t find this in any posts yet Because this blog was a dumping ground for nsfw until Tumblr put a stake in that coffin. But if you all want me to do this I sure as hell will.
But shyness keeps me from moving forward. There are two ways M.K had met Meg One was while he was in prison she was a doctor who evaluated inmates whose paroles were up to see if they were mentally fit to return to civilian life That I was doing with @princessdejamars but we both kinda felt meh about the issue.
and Two which turns out to be my favorite is that M.K rescued Meg from an underground “smuggling” ring that he’s part of selling goods or shipping goods and picking up special requests for “clients”  for a price of course. But here’s how it all went down.
Tumblr media
2. Meg was just in her late 20s recently departed from her love of ten years  due to circumstances not working out She found herself In San Myshuno shortly after losing her job and her apartment at a Vet clinic taking her chances ( getting a job in this world was piss easy ) She found a job at this massive club re known  for having an underground black market and smuggling ring I think it was unnamed  And they all preferred to keep it that way Meg just happened to wander there and saw a hiring sign  and desperate for a job at this point she popped in and was immediately offered the position
This isn't a post you’ll be able to find just something I’ve been messing with.
Anyways,  While working there everyone seemed really nice and found her self taken under wing which helped her fit in a little better who became her friends. Meg went from waitressing like being a cocktail girl to a girl that learned to pole dance becoming everything she didn’t think she’d end up being. She ran into some issues because some wanted a little more than what they got on stage and Meg refused... This caused a lot of complaints.  Now M.K was a regular at this place. He actually did some blood sports which earned him the title of “Big Cat” because he would fight his opponents to the death as that's what this was. This club was more than just a club it had a huge probably illegal  variety of operations underground the club  He’d  win almost every time with a bite to the neck or major artery in the shoulder Also replenishing what he needed most blood as with most vampires they utilize a blood pool and the more energy he uses the “hungrier” he gets even though he’s a hybrid .
Where does Meg come in?  He smelled “human” of course lol I mean who wouldn’t its a supernatural bar and Humans don’t typically come there This bothered him tremendously thinking that perhaps she was a spy playing dumb and playing it cool and doing a damn good job at it.
He was a smuggler of course who didn’t really plan on going back to prison any time soon  He’d already been caught once  Hiding was hard enough. he didn’t want anyone to blow his cover or uncover what was going on here. So He kind of followed her around in private observing her. He did have some slight interaction with her mostly brief and sort of standoffish
When he was around and he continued to stalk when she was at the place not at home though.  His stalking would end up saving her life. When she wasn’t there. His friends were beginning to think he had some kind of interest in this woman being so ballsy
Which he denied, of course, lol thinking she was still some undercover  cop playing dumb That’s when a female colleague mentioned something about seeing her being  “taken” By a rival a  real douche bag that did an entirely different kind of smuggling  of “goods”
Tumblr media
So M.K did some investigating despite Meg being relatively well cared for provided the necessities she needed including makeup though she was familiar with had someone uh professionally do it for her. She was placed in a very dark part of smuggling
To prepare her for potential buyers usually other smugglers or um whatever disgusting creatures wanted a little fun they could even “try before you buy”   So Meg was being held in a tent.  Each tent had a picture of the we’ll call them “servants”  for sale and he found Megs It was then he realized she wasn’t a cop at all and he actually felt kind of bad That is until he heard screaming coming from her tent but it wasn’t her own. and As he got closer he saw a guy make a VERY QUICK EXIT   holding his lower bits which were covered in blood demanding a refund. Which he didn’t get the guy cautions M.K who buys Meg calling him nuts to which M.K  replies “Eh I kinda like my women a little freaky with a big toothy grin quickly ending that conversation So Meg ends up being his “slave” so to speak.
3. My ideas are all over the place. I don’t follow anyone's stories I make up my own I love to write always have thought it’s not overly popular I use to roleplay in the Super Smash Bros community as a Meta Knight sought out by a few groups that I refused to join because I ...HATE...RULES. plus there was this reincarnation as a strange uhhh mythical beast bs god my head hurts just thinking about it
Anyways M.K rescues Meg and tells her She’s free and probably should leave this part of town maybe even go home. She tells him nowhere to go anyway and couldn’t even get a plane ticket to go home to Canada if she wanted to and had been evicted from her apartment due to the fact she was unable to pay rent on time making her homeless. And breaks down. Ashamed what she’d become. So she had nowhere to go. M.K feels bad for her not wanting to be more of a bad guy than he actually was he lets her live with him in his super awesome apartment in San Myshuno, not a penthouse but it was a very nice apartment Under one condition She sometimes had to wear sexy outfits when carrying out regular tasks because technically she was still his slave.. He didn’t make her do anything sexual at first but it wasn’t long until curiosity/ love/ lust had blossomed. They both weren’t really looking for anything at the start it just sort of happened.
 4. Things would slightly fall apart at first When Meg later discovers she’s pregnant She becomes resentful angry at M.K for doing this to her because she didn’t want kids and to be honest neither did he. and believed she was infertile .  So both stupidly became a little careless  Neither knew what to do because it wasn’t just one baby it was two Ren and A.J M.K disappeared shortly after he bought a house days before Meg was due to give birth only to come back days later though a little different. (that’s a different story I will get into.)
Truth be told she somewhat fears him even though he has never ever laid a hand on her just his appearance alone is intimidating enough and quite often he would use that to get what he wanted.
Tumblr media
5.  Brace your self this might make you cry. Or hate me.
Tumblr media
This story I   have in my head two of the kids A.J and Fae die. In the future maybe Archie survives and Hunter  All the kids with high hybrid content survive
Also, I’m debating whether or not to have my simself die Or  having  M.K go back to make Meg realize she’s a witch of sorts
Or  He just thinks she had died or something But to be honest I am leaning toward her death. Leaving just M.K and Ren ( Don’t worry the story I plan has a happy ending of course   Who doesn’t like a good happy ending how if Meg dies? Only time will tell ;) )
But This story allows everything to fall into place in an area where it just makes sense right down to M.K’s tattoos. I also thought it would be interesting to note that M.K spends a lot of time with Meg because he knows this is going to happen in the future which leaves the other kids sort of neglected. So he wants to change what happens.
And  The other kids seem to be more independent and not as bothered by it but Ren Is curious.
And she kind of starts investigating things. To a point where M.K has to step in and sort of intimidating her to get her to back off a bit.
Which only makes her even more curious eventually, in the end, she ends up finding it out or he tells her himself making her promise not to say a word to anyone and that could have caused his graying hair haha.  But Ren promises him she won't say anything and she keeps her word and he offers her vampire training because of it to make sure she doesn’t even though she didn’t directly ask for it it’s kind of their thing the way they bond.  When that time comes when the earth is thrown into turmoil Meg and the rest act a certain way and Ren shifts her focus toward her mother who tries to push the idea on her that she might be a witch but is blown off by Meg after M.K tried to do the same.
So I  thought perhaps Meg's body physically can’t handle being off earth as she is still human And didn’t know she was a witch and M.K didn’t force her to explore that possibility which M.K goes back in time to change thinking it might save her life. Because she dies slowly wastes away.
Testing M.Ks tolerance more and more until after Meg dies after resources become harder and harder to obtain he becomes a changed man full of guilt and hatred toward himself for a decision he made that he thought would help his family due to the world's resources being used up they had to relocate to Sixam.  He becomes a cold-hearted and distant pushing away his two remaining kids and invested heavily in smuggling as well as likely drinking to the point where he’s trying to hurt himself where most would have poisoning. Acting like he just wants to die. He abandons them and goes into hiding for long time.
Everything is routine to M.K like he feels nothing. He fights a good fight to defend his cargo from pirates because well it’s his job and it pays a pretty penny who doesn’t like money? But he’s killed a lot of people good people. As he’s also an assassin of sorts maybe?  Or just looking out for his daughter ;) despite him becoming this ruthless monster.
Tumblr media
Eventually, Ren becomes a Bounty Hunter / Chief of the Space Rangers and is forced to face and bring her father to justice for the crimes he’d committed as a smuggler and hunt him down due to  how chaotic he’d become Ren really does feel sorry for him he’d become so broken She finds him hiding in their old house  that’s in really bad shape at this point pictures lay scattered everywhere.  He tells her  “He knew from day one that she was special She just had this aura about her and was proud of what she’d become and her mother would feel the same and how she had her mothers smile and that Heès sorry he failed her.  But  despite her and his  differences her mother’s dying words were to protect Ren And she realizes all those times she was in danger it was her father getting her out of those tight spots she got her self in sometimes  was him all along to which she couldn’t figure out some instances that should have gotten her killed  didn’t . So as much as she wanted to say” No you failed yourself.” She couldn’t
That despite how terrible he’d become he still loved and cared about her the most`. Causing her to struggle to keep it together This causes Ren to reconsider killing him because he’s wanted either dead or alive at this point and was armed with the weapons to do it. M.K insists and puts her gun or knife to his chest/head  “Well get on with it I have no fight in me left I just want to see your mother again.”
Tumblr media
They struggle for a moment making this moment rather emotional until Ren tells him there’s a better way which M.K was only seconds from forcing her to pull the trigger or to stab him . And she couldn’t do it - She says “ Daddy” her voice become shaken.
Which is something M.k hadn’t heard from her in a very long time and he stops almost immediately “She tells him again there’s a better way.
They become surrounded and Ren ushers M.K into the deeper part of the house that was underground that nobody knew about and where he’d be safe where the safe is in that room, There was a sleep pod that He’d forgotten all about She tells him Remember when Mom got mad when you bought this stupid thing? Clearing off all the rubble she tells him she can tweak it to act like a cryostasis Tesseract thing with the wiring and Sends him back in time. M.K, before he goes, gives  Ren his dog tag or something of value to prove that it was done and tells her to burn the house down.  after  She knows he made it. She asks how will I know. And he tells her She’ll know. With a wink.
. After M.K goes back in time Ren burns the house down. and emerges from the home with his dog tag or whatever it is I decide to use and tells everyone it’s been done. And to move along. After the fire has cleared Ren returns back to the house and seals up the bottom of the house with concrete with the help of her two remaining brothers Archie and Hunter They salvage what wasn’t damaged As keepsakes. Ren builds like this tomb surrounding this basement and hires security to keep this area safe The world thinks M.K is dead but he isn’t he’s just enjoying a long walk on memory lane with his beloved for all eternity and that is what you see on my blog how sad is that!.

SSBU Canon Power Tier fixed
Tumblr media
-= SOME EXPLANATIONS =-
Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Wario - These seven are the star children - people blessed with great power. So it makes sense to scale them with each other. Donkey Kong and Wario in particular have demonstrated feats correlating with moons, both small and big. So, it’s likely that the rest follow suit as well.
Link, Young Link, Toon Link - While Link may not have the same magical prowess as Zelda or Ganondorf, he can still hold his own against massive armies. Young Link and Toon Link, still being kids, are just a step behind him. I could put Young Link on Country-scale with adult-Link if we consider the Fierce Deity Mask, but it is a situational equip (only usable in major boss battles).
Kirby - If you ever doubted Kirby’s boundless power before, Planet Robobot straight-up describes him as having infinite power. This can well justify how he can scale up to just about ANY threat to planets or reality.
Fox, Falco, Wolf - I initially considered putting them in Peak-human, since they’re just pilots first and foremost. Then I remembered that there’s a bunch of different guns and explosives that they can use in Assault. So they get a pass in City-scale.
Ness, Lucas - These two were a couple of the trickiest to lock down. I know that Ness is granted power from the Earth itself, but we don’t see that power helping much against Giygas - so the power he received is still ambiguous. Lucas’s power was a little easier to get a grasp on, though. We know that he earns higher levels of PK Love as he unseals the Dark Dragon - a mysterious being that holds together the Nowhere Islands. They seem just big enough to be a country, so that’s the best lowball I can think of. Ness might be in a similar ballpark, since he and Lucas both contested evenly with Porky’s vehicles - and it’s implied that the one in Mother 3 is an improved model.
Captain Falcon - This is mainly based on the anime, where he seems to draw power from the Reactor Might, a cosmic fragment that he protects. While it doesn’t really make his punches planetary, the Falcon Punch we saw still gave off enough energy to suggest that his strength is in the megatons. Since Mario’s castle-punting feat has similar energy, I felt it best to put Falcon in Continent-scale as well.
Daisy, Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr. - These three aren’t star children like Peach, Donkey Kong, or Bowser. However, they’ve at least proven to keep up with the star children in their casual levels (Daisy even launched Bowser away once). So, Country-scale seems a reasonable place to put them.
Sheik - Why is Sheik in Country-scale when Zelda is in Continent-scale? Aren’t they the same? Well, yes. But the Sheik persona wasn’t just for concealing Zelda’s identity - it also concealed her power. So this is technically a self-imposed handicap on Zelda’s part.
Marth, Lucina, Roy, Chrom, Ike - Each one has led massive armies from the frontlines, and that’s besides wielding blessed weapons. It’s reasonable to believe that they can hold their own in battles against whole nations.
Mewtwo - I initially considered Planet-scale since it intended to spread a hurricane across the world. However, that hurricane didn’t spread fast enough to cause quite enough destruction, so its power is likely less than planetary.
Mr. Game & Watch - He supposedly represents all playable roles in the Game & Watch series. And most of these roles are of employed in high-risk zones - construction, deep-sea diving, even the military. While not canonically any Duon, he’s still clearly a tireless worker.
Meta Knight, King Dedede - Even though Kirby is in ?????, these two are in Planet-scale? Well, they can certainly keep up with Kirby’s own planet-busting strength and sometimes speed (Meta Knight can actually fly across the galaxy as fast as Kirby flies on his Warp Star), but they don’t have the same malleable power as he does. And, well, the day is typically only saved by Kirby’s hyper-adaptability.
Pit, Dark Pit - They’re certainly tough angels, but owe most of their successes to the powers and weapons granted by gods much stronger than they.
Pokémon Trainer - Wait, why is he ranked? Well, I figured I’d rank EVERY fighter available. And Pokémon Trainers in the main series show a great deal of superhuman stamina - falling long ways, traveling and biking tirelessly, going through very hazardous environments...No ordinary kid can manage all of that!
Sonic - I’m being kind of generous with this, as Sonic’s own strength and durability haven’t really stacked up to most other characters in the Continent tier. Though that is compensated most of the time by his Super Transformation - while it lasts, of course. Still, it can be hard to hit him when he pays attention, and he’s been able to compete neck-and-neck with Mario in the Olympics for the past 12 years. So I’d say this spot is secure for him.
Olimar - This tier was made JUST for him. And for Alph, too, but this Tiermaker didn’t have Alph, so...
Villager, Isabelle - They’re both in Peak-human mainly by how tirelessly they work.
Rosalina & Luma - The only other fighter in the ????? tier, and for good reason: Rosalina’s cosmic magic is unfathomable. She can pilot the Comet Observatory all across the galaxy, communicate with others from afar, and possesses strong telekinetic power. And that’s just part of what we know! She’s somehow lived for centuries, and together with the Lumas, they possibly have the power to restore destroyed galaxies! Her power couldn’t possibly be constrained to just planetary...!
Palutena - ...So why is Palutena in this category? Isn’t she a powerful goddess? Well, yes, but it’s implied that she’s among the weaker gods in the Kid Icarus world. We do see her capable of conjuring powerful storms and slinging around huge landmasses with her telekinesis, but nothing really suggests that her own power is planetary. In fact, all the other gods, by their own power, also rank at continental-scale at best...possibly.
Robin - Why is Robin a tier above the FE protagonists? Well, simple. Naga herself points out that Robin possesses the same power as Grima, even though he hadn’t succumbed to the Fell Dragon’s power. So, it’s reasonable enough to scale Robin’s full strength with Grima’s power - which, may I remind you, devastated the Archanean continent in the future.
Shulk - I may get some flak for this, but let me explain. Shulk used the combined power of three Monados - Zanza’s, Meyneth’s, and his own - to reshape his world. We know that much. But first, he had to combat Zanza, a being who essentially lorded over the world. Shulk’s Monado could match with Zanza’s Monado alone, sure. However, it also had the influence to neutralize the logic-manipulation of Zanza’s “godly defenses“. Still, this means that this Monado at least has the ability to bring down a mighty planetary being.
Corrin - Is it just because he’s an avatar character like Robin? Well, somewhat. It’s already stated early in the game that those that carry the blood of the First Dragons can easily handle whole armies on their own. That does sound like the other FE protagonists, but it goes further. Those with First Blood can influence the very land around themselves through Dragon Veins. Some can even wield divine weapons. In fact, Corrin’s Yato is believed to hold the power to devastate the world if misused - maybe its full power isn’t that ludicrous, but its Omega form is powerful enough to match with one of the First Dragons, Anankos (who can manipulate an entire dominion). And that’s not even bringing up Corrin’s dragon shapeshifting...
Joker - I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this, I bet...Anyway, this placement in Country-scale is based on his strongest Persona, Satanael, which serves as a counter to Yaldabaoth. However, while Yaldabaoth does merge the Metaverse into reality, we never see this extend beyond Japan. So while Yaldabaoth’s power - and in turn, Satanael’s - is great, nothing proves that it eclipsed the entire world. And even then, we only see Japan’s populace cheering on the Phantom Thieves (which triggers Arsene’s evolution into Satanael).

Young Justice: A Bat Family And The House Of Al Ghul
Tumblr media
Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
Seriously, turn away if you aren’t up to date with Young Justice: Outsiders – particularly episode 6.
You have been warned…
The current Young Justice season has shown the following members of the Bat-Family:
Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Nightwing (Dick Grayson)
Oracle (Barbara Gordon)
Robin (Tim Drake)
Spoiler (Stephanie Brown)
Batwoman (Kate Kane)
Jason Todd
Damian Wayne
The House of Al Ghul has the following representation:
Ra’s Al Ghul
Talia
Sensei
Damian Wayne
“Rescue Op”, the latest episode of Young Justice: Outsiders, dropped a few bombshells on the Wayne Family and the League of Shadows. Now is a perfect time for a recap and speculation post.
Batman: Has grown tired of the limitations imposed on the Justice League by the United Nations and Lex Luthor in particular. Bruce resigned from the League and formed Batman Inc. Green Arrow, Batwoman, Katana, Hardware, and Plastic Man have also resigned from the League and joined Batman Inc. Robin, Spoiler, and Arrowette resigned from Young Justice in support of their mentors.
We haven’t seen Batman since the mass resignation so we are unaware of his future plans.
Batwoman: Has made one brief non-speaking appearance. I’m assuming Kate’s origin is similar to her comic book version. She should re-appear when Batman returns on the scene.
Nightwing: Left Young Justice at the end of season two. The death of Wally West, his best friend, laid a heavy burden on his shoulders. We have no idea what Dick has been up to during the two-year time gap between season two and three. The use of hypnos in an early episode hints as adventures with Spyral, a spy organization.
The season opened with Dick breaking up meta-human trafficking rings.  He’s in a relationship with Barbara Gordon.  It appears Dick will/has formed the Outsiders as of the latest episode – Brion and Halo stated they’d work best “outside” the Young Justice team.
Oracle: Has been paralyzed for less than a year. The prequel comic had Babs active as Batgirl in year six. We aren’t aware of the circumstances of her paralysis but it’s most likely due to the Joker. The only question is if we will receive a “Killing Joke” flashback or if it’s only referenced in a comment. Babs is strictly working with Nightwing at this point but will she organize the Birds of Prey in the future? I would love to see Huntress and Lady Blackhawk in the YJ-verse!
Dick and Babs were both aware of Bruce’s “Batman Inc” plan but are not actively participating in it.
Robin: We’re not sure when Tim became Robin. I’ve always felt it was shortly before season two started due to the anxious protectiveness Dick had of Tim in the first episode. Tim should be around 16-17 years old in the current season. He resigned along with Batman in the first episode. Tim’s romance with Wonder Girl is on the rocks due to the resignation.
Spoiler (Stephanie Brown) – Like Kate, she has only been featured in a non-speaking role. Steph was part of the mass resignation of episode one. I’m assuming Steph’s origin is true to her comic book roots: daughter of Cluemaster, adopts the Spoiler identity to foil his crimes. A significant difference is her early adoption into the Bat family. Trust me, Steph wouldn’t have been able to join the team without Batman’s approval. Steph’s resignation suggests she has a much smoother relationship with Bruce in the YJ-verse. Another difference – Steph isn’t romantically involved with Tim. Is Cassie doomed to be the “Ariana” of Tim and Steph’s future romance? Or will Tim and Steph simply be BFFs?
Finally, Jason Todd!
Jason was seen briefly in season two as a memorial hologram. He had died sometime during years two and four of Young Justice.  We’re not sure of the exact time or circumstances.
I would set Jason’s death in year four. Dick would be approximately 17 years old during the fourth year of the team. Dick, traditionally, is around 17 to 19 years old when he breaks off from Bruce and forms the Nightwing identity. Jason would have a brief tenure as Robin and a member of Young Justice before his death- allowing a very new to the role Tim to join the team in year 5.
We’ve never been told the circumstances of Jason’s death. It’s a safe bet the Joker was involved in some way.
Let’s recap the various versions:
Post-Crisis: Jason searches to find his birth mother. Sheila Haywood, said birth mother, betrays Jason to the Joker. The Joker beats Jason with a crowbar and leaves him to die in an exploding warehouse.
New 52: Very similar to the Post-Crisis death.
Under The Red Hood movie: Similar to the traditional death minus the mom.
Batman: Arkham Knight: The Joker kidnapped, imprisoned, and tortured Jason for many months. Joker appeared to murder Jason in a video, causing Bruce to stop searching for him.
Now let’s discuss the various resurrections…
Post-Crisis: Superboy Prime punched the walls of reality causing alterations of the timeline. One alteration was Jason’s resurrection. A massively brain-damaged and physically injured Jason awoke in his coffin. He dug himself out of his grave and wandered the streets of Gotham in a semi-catonic state. Talia discovers Jason and brings him to the League of Assassins. Jason has muscle memory but no intellectual capabilities. In other words, Jason can fight but not communicate. After months of no progress, Ra’s orders Jason to be sent to a home. Ra’s orders Jason will be taken care of out of respect for the Detective. A desperate Talia throws Jason into the Lazarus Pit. Jason emerges with full mental capabilities but an insane amount of rage. Talia furthers Jason’s training but also amps Jason’s rage – she sends him like an exploding bomb into Gotham. Prime targets: Bruce, the Joker, and Tim. Jason and Talia have a brief, icky, sexual relationship.
New 52: No Superboy involved – Talia straight up throws Jason into the Lazaurs Pit. She still serves as Jason’s mentor but no sex was involved.  Jason’s return as the Red Hood and his roaring rampage of revenge happened before the New 52 began. We never receive the full details of Jason’s revenge but Jason comments about his rough treatment of Tim and Roy jokes about a “duffel bag of severed heads” so we’ll assume it was similar to the ‘Under The Red Hood” arc.
Under The Red Hood movie: Ra’s resurrects Jason due to his guilt over unleashing the Joker. Jason’s death was never intended and Ra’s resurrected him to make amends. Unfortunately, Ra’s couldn’t contain Jason’s rage and banished him from the stronghold.
Batman: Arkham Knight: Never died but still full of rage and bitterness due to Batman’s “abandonment” of him.
Jason is seen briefly in “Rescue Op”. He’s masked and wearing a red hood. He fights Nightwing. After Dick’s team leaves, he mutters “Grayson”.
Ra’s comments: “Oh, your memory is finally returning. Excellent.”
Let’s speculate:
We can safely assume Jason died at the hands of the Joker. It’s a universal constant. I feel it was a true death as the “faked” death of Arkham Knight doesn’t work well in universe with a Superman and a Martian Manhunter. If Batman didn’t have Jason’s actual corpse in his arms, he would have called in his entire Justice League team to find his son. And if he didn’t, Dick would have.
More questions: Was Dick in space when Jason died? Did Dick and Jason work together in Young Justice? Did the brothers have a better bond in the Young Justice universe or was it the more typical “overshadowed by Dick’s greatness” combined with Dick’s bitterness over being replaced route?
As for Jason’s resurrection…
We can rule out Superboy Prime and timeline alterations.
The Lazarus Pit is the obvious solution. However, Jason is very much in his post-grave but pre-Lazarus dip state.  Has Jason been immersed in the Pit? If not, what caused his resurrection?
If Jason has been immersed in the Pit, why such a half-assed job? And where’s the rage?
The Young Justice comic book had Robin (Dick) accidentally drop Ra’s – causing the man to fall to his death. Talia and Ubu threw Ra’s into the pit and he emerged fully intact with no memory loss.
If Jason still has memory loss after the Lazarus pit – is it due to the massive head trauma caused by the Joker’s crowbar?  But, again, Ra’s had died in the Young Justice-verse and been resurrected in prime condition. Talia and Ubu had to travel back to the Lazarus Pit – meaning Ra’s was dead for hours – that would also cause brain damage and he came back in perfect health.
My theory is an outside force caused Jason’s resurrection. Talia discovered Jason wondering the streets and brought him back to the League’s stronghold.
It would explain Jason’s current state. I have no idea what the “outside force” would be though.
Jason has been healing and training with the League but has not been immersed in the Pit.
Ra’s al Ghul stated in “Recue Op” that he is no longer the head of the League of Shadows or a member of the Light.
A power struggle occurred and Ra’s lost.  Ra’s only has his own family – Talia, Damian, and Sensei – along with a few loyal operatives on the island. Who has assumed control of the League of Shadows?
I listed a few suspects when I covered “Rescue Op” – Cheshire and Lady Shiva. I even theorized over the introduction of Cassandra Cain. I completely forgot the most obvious suspect – Nyssa al Ghul.
Nyssa is the older sister of Talia. Nyssa lost most of her family in concentration camps during World War II – mainly because of Ra’s outright refusal to help her.
“Batman: Death and the Maidens” is Nyssa’s origin and revenge against Ra’s. She murders Ra’s al Ghul and Talia and assumes control of the League.
The trio of Nyssa, Lady Shiva, and Cheshire would be a terrifying triple threat. And if Shiva has coerced Cassandra to help? Very bad times ahead for Ra’s and Talia.
Let’s talk Talia. She only has a brief appearance in the cartoon but received a two-issue spotlight in the comic book series.
Talia is a more multi-faceted and likable character in the Young Justice-verse than she is in the mainstream DC universe.
Talia wants Bruce to love her but realizes he doesn’t/can’t – at least not the way she wants him to. She’s frustrated that her father doesn’t understand or accept this. She wants someone to see her as something other than Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter or Batman’s lover. Talia is very tired of the endless conflict between Batman and her father.
I believe Talia discovered the resurrected Jason. She brought Jason home with her so he could heal. Talia has been patiently waiting for Jason’s full recovery. In the comics, Talia didn’t push Jason into the Pit until Ra’s threatened to send Jason away. Clearly, this isn’t a worry in the YJ-verse so Talia would have no reason to immerse Jason in the Pit and risk the resulting insanity/rage.
Initially, Talia rescued Jason in the comics so Bruce would be grateful to her. Cartoon-verse Talia likely has a similar motivation.
What would cause Talia to throw Jason into the Pit – restoring his full mental capacity even at the risk of rage and insanity?
Two words: Damian Wayne.
Talia was holding baby Damian in her arms during the episode. Why introduce both Jason and Damian together unless their storylines intertwine?
I feel Ra’s successors in the League are going to pursue the remaining Al Ghuls. The League, by its various nature, is a bloodthirsty affair – predecessors aren’t allowed to live out their lives in peace. And Ra’s isn’t a “chilling on the beach” type of guy.
Damian is a newborn and I’m assuming he was conceived the old-fashioned way. None of this Talia drugged Bruce or stole his genetic material stuff. It wouldn’t be true to the Young Justice version of Talia.
Talia has a newborn and a price on all the Al-Ghul heads. Talia realizes Damian needs to be with his father for his own safety. Talia is unable – or unwilling – to leave Ra’s side. It’s possible an ambush goes very badly. A desperate Talia throws Jason into the Lazarus Pit. She orders the now fully restored Jason to bring Damian to Bruce.
Jason may not even engage in a “roaring rampage of revenge” against Bruce. Mainstream-Talia’s manipulations helped cause Jason’s revenge (“You remain unavenged”). Talia has no reason to amp Jason’s revenge in the YJ-verse – she needs Jason to get Damian and himself to Gotham asap.
Jason’s rage may not even kick in until after he hands Damian over – it could be days or weeks later when Jason discovers the Joker is still alive. Enter the Red Hood.
If Jason does go all revenge-driven Red Hood, I am going to be seriously annoyed if he focuses his anger on Dick and not Tim.
Bad enough Dick stole the founding of Young Justice and the Kon friendship from Tim, if he takes the “replacement feud” I’m going to have a fit.
Dick is the original Bat-Family thief – first Barbara has multiple accomplishments stolen from her history in order to make her Dick’s “true love”, and then Dick steals the founding of Young Justice and Superboy from Tim!
I love you, Dick, but stop stealing your sibling’s stuff. They are allowed to have accomplishments and storylines without you hogging the action!
