Osc*r is and always has been a repurposed Jaune who is worse in every conceivable way. Jaune should have been Ozpin’s host and Osc*r should have been an idea laughed out of the writers room at worst, or never conceived at best.
"Why does Rwby write it's female characters as people instead of anime waifus and have the male mc being a biracial afrolatino boy(Oscar)instead of my blonde blue eyed white fave >:("Oh woah..........I mean,it's not like the creator was happily married to his wife and partially based the fem mcs off his female friends because he loved them and wanted to make them happy and was also an moc and inmigrant of several kinds of mixed descendents.................That'd be absolutely insane and unrealistic
I am SO sick and tired of white Rwby fans dismissing Oscar as an important character to have on the show just because he's a boy and ESPECIALLY when they put him on the same level as Jaune(who i don't hate but you get what i'm referring to).Let me reiterate common knowledge:The creator of Rwby was a multiracial asian man.He made Ruby and Yang wasian because of this and same goes for Ren being japanese/chinese mixed by virtue of being a combo of both irl cultures.Monty didn't limit his rep to just asians because he loved ALL his siblings of color so he also gave us brown characters and black characters-And one of them is Oscar himself.Oscar is not 'just a boy',he's BLACK.No ifs or buts,he is in every way from his design to his personality to his story and i can tell you because i'm black too and in fact, the biggest reason he's my favorite Rwby guy and always has been is that he looks exactly like me when i was a kid and i'd never gotten that in a character before.Don't you dare try to whitewash him because you have no sense of intersectionality, especially on a show literally starring a biracial girl.Get a fucking grip!!!
I just want Sun to take Whitley under his wing so bad cuz the latter's family treats him like replacable or like he doesn't exit at all. Meanwhile Sun would literally leave his team and travel across the equator to help someone he knows needs someone to be there for them in the toughtest of times, even if they push him away. I think Sun would realize how bad Whitley's situation is and hear him out, support him and try to help Whitley find out what it he wants to do in life without pressuring him.
Petition for Sun to marry Ren and the two of them adopt Whitley + Oscar, also to fund their trip to somewhere far away from the toxic ass bitches in their lives.
Sun ain't perfect, but shit he gave more of a fuck about Blake's well-being than her whole team even when she's been nothing but a cunt to him in the Mistral Arc. And Ren literally carried the team on their mission to save Oscar, actually question their actions in the face of doom, and still had to apologize to the girl who was supposed to love him yet abuse him emotionally the entire time they were in Atlas (fuck you, Nora).
These two need to get those boys and GTFO before their leeches of "friends" fuck them up even more.
I hope anti don't use this as a way to bring ozpin in to the RG ship again it feels like the only argument they have and now is this part right here feel like is fanning them flames again, 😩
I don't think the writers intended that this would probably be used against people who ship Oscar and Ruby cuz I know they have to know about it especially considering miles himself wrote this episode😐
it's like when we finally get a break from being harassed by anti RG ships something with another ship or in the show brings the worst out in the RG anti
And the anti don't do this to any other ship ,and it's like I've been saying since the beginning if Oscar had been a character from the earlier volumes nobody will be complaining about him even if he is Oz's next like-minded soul like if eyes had reincarnated into John or even any other character that people ship Ruby with people wouldn't complain they would be sitting there making
theories just like me and other Oscar fans trying to figure out if there was a way to delay the merge or stop it completely like especially if they were about to lose John's personality Romans wises are even pennies cuz I've seen a few people say ozpin should have reincarnated into Penny to not only show she had a soul as a real girl but because of the line she said she was made to help save the world and I seen a few people say it would have been cool if I spent her instead of Oscar
The merge is an issue but it's not an issue when it comes to the ship because we all saw in the Lost Fable where Oz can lived with one of his like-minded souls the one who made the long
memory and we saw that his wife knew and was okay with it like I think if Oscar did get into a relationship in the merge was still going on Aspen would just leave like he did in volume six through seven and wouldn't interfere at all and I wish people would realize this more
This is sort of old news but i’m not sure if a lot of people heard about it so i thought i’d share. At the end of October a bunch of celebrities signed a letter to Joe Biden thanking him for his position on supporting Israel. The letter is cloaked in euphemistic language but the point of its message is to urge the US govt against a ceasefire and to continue stoking the fires of genocide. The signatories have waived the benefit of the doubt — these celebrities are signing off on genocide. Here is the letter, and here are a few names on it that are notable particularly for tumblr audiences:
Amy Sherman Palladino, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pine, Eric Andre, Jack Black, Jeff Goldblum, Juliette Lewis, Katy Perry, Lana del Rey, Regina Spektor, Stephen Fry, Taika Waititi, Will Ferrell
On the other hand, there is also a letter signed by many celebrities that calls for a ceasefire. The letter is here, and here are some notable names:
Amandla Stenberg, America Ferrera, Andrew Garfield, Cate Blanchett, Dua Lipa, Florence Pugh, Frank Ocean, Hari Nef, Indya Moore, Janelle Monae, Jenna Ortega, Kehlani, Kristen Stewart, Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Ruffalo, Misha Collins, Oscar Isaac, Ruth Negga, Sandra Oh, Tessa Thompson, Zayn Malik
Strangely a few people, including Ewan McGregor, Kirsten Dunst, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Jordan Peele have signed both letters and I don’t know what to make of that. It’s possible that they signed the anti-ceasefire letter (which is dated 10/23) first and have since switched their stance, but that’s not clarified anywhere.
I have this theory that RWDE types always viewed Ironwood as infallible and perfect from the very start, solely because he was a badass dude, and rather than reconcile the fact that they ignored his flaws only because they saw him as an "alpha male" they would rather attack not only the writers but every woman who disagrees with and acts against him.
This is so funny, because I'm an openly feminist queer woman who doesn't hate any of the main characters, loves the female characters, and happens to view Ironwood as very flawed and I've criticized things like his 'go to space' plot, and will NEVER defend things like him shooting Oscar or Sleet or his frankly absurd levels of clear and present villainy in Volume Eight. Most of the RWBY characters I hate are men like Port, Cardin, Hazel and even Adam (though I like his concept,) and most of the women I hate are villains I'm MEANT to hate, and I don't criticize any character in RWBY nearly as much as I - a woman - criticize the majority male writers, but you apparently feel the need to defend people like Miles Luna. I have never once said Ironwood is perfect, I've VERY CLEARLY stated repeatedly that he's flawed. Also I hate alpha men and dudebros and btw your fandom is lousy with them (and maybe start with Miles Luna if you're interested in criticizing misogyny.) You're literally accusing me of misogyny JUST BECAUSE I pointed out flaws in anti-rwde logic, criticize a show that was created by and mostly written by men, and like a fictional character.
ALSO, just so we're clear, you didn't even TRY to refute anything I said, just threw out some buzzwords, accused me of saying something I didn't say (that Ironwood is perfect) and then pretended you did something. 0/10 Very unoriginal comment, and you exposed your cowardice by being on anon.
ALSO also, it's always funny when people accuse me of seeing Ironwood as an alpha male, because I always write him to be a very emotional person who lets his friends get away with way too much, admires Penny more than any other person alive, looks to Glynda as a confidant and role model, and hasn't had a relationship since his teen years because he's been pining after Qrow since they met during the first Vytal Tournament. Like, maybe unpack your stupid assumptions, stupidhead.
It's not secret that I've been working on building up a handful of new RWBY fics. Nor has it been a secret what they're about. But I thought it'd be fun to revel in the excitement a bit and gather up all the information to let you vote on what you're most excited for too!
This probably won't have any impact on what order I write things. But don't you wanna share excitement? So vote, ask a question, drop a message! But first, make sure you read all the information about each fic!
If you aren't interested, then please just don't vote. Thank you.

The war will be long. The losses will be high. But roses are resilient; their thorns can draw blood at the most unsuspecting of times.

There, Ruby wants to open an alchemy shop and work on their thesis in hopes of becoming a master alchemist.

A broken soldier finds her way to the edges of the local forest. Mayor Ghira and his family help the recently widowed Willow and her children adjust to freedom after months indoors and years of abuse.
And along the edges of their territory, ancient ruins and creeping monsters await the rangers who seek to expand Patch. For even in times of peace, danger lurks.

Summary:
In Remnant, when a witch comes of age at 15, they enroll in a six year witch school to learn the depths and wonders of magic.
Ruby Rose is 13 when their magic matures and they receive a letter from Beacon Academy of Witchcraft. There’s no hope of hiding the early magic, but maybe they, their older sister, Yang, and their guardian, Little, can keep the rest of Ruby’s secrets hidden.
Like their unnatural silver eyes, locked behind a glamour to look a plain grey. Or their natural intuition to magic, which is harder to hide.
Yet, at Beacon, Ruby’s focus doesn’t stay on their own problems for long. Instead, Ruby finds themself following after Weiss Schnee, a fellow sproutling that Ruby suspects is in danger. When they discover how much danger Weiss is in, they vow to find a way to help her, no matter what.
As Ruby, Yang, and their new friends slip deeper into the darkness of Remnant’s hex-filled underworld, they’ll learn that Weiss isn’t the only one in danger. Men, monsters, and malignant magic vie to see who can destroy the world first, but only if Ruby and their friends can’t find a way to stop them.
I really have to wonder where to fuck Bumbleby antis get the idea that it's okay to be cruel to Bumbleby shippers for shipping the Bees.Like,so often you see them saying 'The wasps are toxic uwU' but i've been actively in the Rwby fandom since shortly after Volume 4 finished and the amount of Bees shippers i've met that actually ARE toxic is literally microscopic compared to the nice ones.I always see them just vibing and making cute wholesome things and funny memes and smut with healthy dynamics of Blake and Yang and when they DO act mean,99% of the time it's because their feelings are hurt because YOU GUYS bullied them and they're venting and defending thenselves so i truly have to wonder how many of the 'proofs' you guys have that they're bad were taken out of context to make them look unresonable. Not to mention they're constantly defending the other minority characters,NOT 'only caring about gays' or whatever, like Oscar from antiblack weirdos who hate him for being an afrolatino boy who the fem mc is in love with as if she's not canonically wasian and poc irl usually seek out to date other ones and May from transmisogynists who hate and even Kdin herself for existing. And even if Bumbleby WAS forced and rushed(it's not),literally why do y'all give a shit if people like it anyway. Are they personally attacking you by daring to like something that's not the eptimome of good writing? No,they just have a different opinion than you and thinking that gives you the right to be ruthlessly mean to them is deadass school bully behavior.Y'all should embarrased-Log off and go talk to others like a person for once
i am like nothing short of disgusted with the fact that oscar, a child thrown into the war he had nothing to do with, was the mcs' punching bag for their unstable sad asses and them not acknowledging what it's like for him, because if they did, they'd think twice before physically and verbally abusing him. And him not having hard feelings about it. Like boy have some self-respect. If I were in Oscar's place when Jaune pinned him against the wall and started yelling at him, I'd immediately punched him as hard as possible and then said something like: "Let me make one thing clear for all of you if you and I are to work together; I am not him, I am still here. The next time you forget that fact, I leave. For good." Because fucking hell, this is the SECOND time these asshole forget that he exists as a separate fucking person
The whole drama with Oscar during V6 highlights a major issue with RWBY: The writers would copy tropes, moments, and ideas from other media but they did not understand the reason why these ideas worked in those media. They disregard the context and the consequences of these kinds of tropes and just use drama to create a false sense of stake that never gets resolved.
Oscar never got an apology from adult men assaulting him, hell, the episode right after Jaune pinned him against the wall was dedicated to JAUNE. Fuck the fact that this child had to be involved in something bigger than he ever expected and god knows how far he is right now from home, the kid can just fuck off and get character development somewhere else off-screen before ANOTHER grown man assault him.
The tension was set up in a way that we can see how Oscar is feeling about everything along with the protagonists, but you're right anon. Oscar is a punching bag, not a character. Because RWBY is a show that likes to copy only the appearance of other media's work, but never the heart.
