i just realized something: one thing all the 5 "beasts" share is having their soul jams flipped upside-down, and in that part in the trailer where the beast's soul jams become the hero's soul jams. white lilly's jam is placed up-side down just like silent salt. that is then promptly followed up with a shot of dark enchantress cookie

Maybe it’s a corruption thing?

Silent Salt could’ve been the first to be corrupted, but I think Red Spice could’ve been corrupted first given by how we see them first, then followed by Silent Salt

White Lily turning into Dark Enchantress could be the cycle of corruption for power repeating with our heroes

Enzo found out at the conclusion of that evening why the bumbling, American boy was an Alpha when he let out a shrill whistle and a blast of dominance so strong it left Enzo weak kneed. 

It cut through the noise, all the children (old and young) turning to face their Alpha, as he started directing them like a seasoned soldier. Clean up was initiated with ease, rides home discussed, any issues settled, and all the while the taste of Steve's wolf made Enzo look at his own packmates with wide eyes. 

Alexi chuckled at him. "That takes a while to get used to." He told him in Russian, while Murray snorted beside him, the sound ugly. 

"He only feels like that because he has the superpower girl in his pack." He said, also in Russian (because even Murray wouldn't refer to El like that around her dad in plain English.) “She boosts him.” 

"Not exactly." 

All three men jumped guilty as one of Steve's wolves-a girl Enzo didn't know- chimed in, Russian heavily accented. "Steve wasn't the most popular guy at school just because he was  rich, you know." 

Alexi shot her a delighted look, Murray an annoyed one. 

"Eavesdropping isn't polite, child."

She smirked at him. "Neither is gossiping in front of people, bald man."

The older wolf whirled on Alexi. "You've been teaching her insults again!" 

He got a playful shrug in response. "You have your favorite, I have mine."

Robin, as Enzo would later learn the young woman was called, smiled gleefully at Alexi. 

"So he's always had a bit of that then?” He asked, bringing the topic back before Murray could drag his mate down into one of their arguments. “That strength?" 

Enzo meant the sheer force of him, the over-all power that told other wolves Steve’s dominance ranked far, far higher than their own. It was the kind of thing that stopped fights before they started, which made no sense because looking at him in human form, Enzo would assume a good majority of the children could take him on in a fight, let alone any of the present adults. 

Robin hummed an acknowledgement. "Almost never let it out but when he did it was.." She paused for a moment, seemed to be searching for the right word. “Massive? Explosive?”  

“Overwhelming.” Alexi provided for her. 

Robin snapped her fingers at him. “Yes! That!” 

She waved her arms for a moment, making a fist with one hand and smacking it into her palm. “It flattened you.” 

The  verbage was odd, but Enzo understood well enough. 

The conversation drifted, Murray insulting the girl’s Russian while Alexi praised it, the three of them devolving into banter.

Sometimes I wanna draw and then I realise I can't draw

Anyway. WIP! I feel like this'll be fun if I keep going but I have a tendency to lose all motivation if I leave it so I usually do things in one shot. However, I need to go to bed.

I feel like this is a lot of research that people will never see unless they themselves are Mexican but one of the reasons I make/draw things like this is so people feel seen. I looked over a couple things for this, quite fun! This is supposed to be a chiapaneca dress, but I am not used to this more "realistic" style so the dress actually needs to spread out more. It's so pretty though! Will either be very fun or very torturous to colour

This is Paloma! I haven't started on her wings and at this point I'm not sure how to add them in. She's Mexican and was a fashion designer. I'm using that as an excuse to continue putting eyeliner on Alexis, who she is friends (?) with. She's older than him.

I have seen somewhere that Spanish Spanish and Mexican Spanish are slightly different, the two should still be able to communicate. I don't know what you call a "big sister/miss" in Spanish, or if that's even something you do. I guess Senorita would be it? I'm trying to convey that Alexis is showing respect to her though, so that feels like it's not it.

I'm debating between wing styles also. I think colourful wings (Like a parrot) would be pretty, and not as common as dove wings (Which are her namesake). Also it was while I was looking those up that I found out the Mexican flag has an eagle on it! The golden eagle wings sound pretty interesting, if a little bit drab, but having her be tied to the national bird would be fun I think. And lastly, wood pigeon wings, which are also her namesake, only in Latin.

I've returned from the art hyperfixation trenches and I've brought with me an approximation of an excerpt of a crossover fic I've been formulating and obsessing over for what must be weeks now 😂😅

The idea of Chazz, Atticus, and Alexis getting somehow sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom the Paper Mario 64 layout specifically hence Lava Lava Island lol started out as a joke, but the thought of Chazz and Peach hanging out in Bowser's dungeon together becoming unlikely besties while they wait for their silly boyfriends to come rescue them made it not a joke anymore and now, here we are 🤭🤭

Of course the dialog is subject to change when I get around to actually writing the actual fic and this sequence happens in context, but I approximated the gist of what's going on at this point in the story 😅

Some might say that getting a detail wrong like Lucy saying Tim was shot on her first day, is no big deal.

Here's the thing for me, I'm not mentioning any names or titles here, but there is a very well known Chenford AU Soulmate fanfic, that has a serious word count on both narrative perspectives. In both those versions, Tim is shot on Lucy's second day. Fanfic writers are not being PAID to write for the show.

If fanfic writers can get the details right, why can't the writers WRITING FOR THE ACTUAL SHOW? ON THE PAYROLL? - and what does this say about writers versus fans investment in the show? 🤔

Hey so I saw on his Wikipedia page that A. Alastor is aroace and a sex symbol at the same time and B. there are two separate webcomics with him in it that are almost impossible to find online, also C. apparently Mimzy is in love with him and D. the old webcomic had him bound by this evil cloud lady with an apple sceptre, and Lucifer has one of those in the show, so I’m thinking what if she still exists in canon and she’s E. 6. how have they changed in the last year? how about the last five years?

last five years: the last 5 years have definitely been the hardest of her life. at the start of them she had been the happiest she's ever been and thought things were finally starting to look up :) she was in a very happy relationship and had actually started going to therapy (after a lot of encouragement from her fiancee) to work on her ~issues~/herself. but ofc that bliss couldn't last bc she's my poorest littlest wettest meow meow and i don't allow her to be happy for more than 5 minutes at a time <3 .....her fiancee died and completely grief striken alexis hit rock bottom with her self destructive behavior at it's peak which amplified all her previous issues. since then she has actually made a lot of progress (though someone meeting her now for the first time would probably find that hard to believe) she's still incredibly closed off and struggles on a daily basis but she is trying her hardest to continue to crawl out of the pit she had fallen into and to not fall back down again

last year (going back from start of b3): meeting unit bravo and finding out about the supernatural has also changed her quite a bit, in some parts for the better...in others very much not. on the one hand there's the murphy trauma and having her entire world turned upside down which definitely led to a whole new set of issues. but on the other hand unit bravo has her slowly opening up again + seemingly overcoming her commitment issues with nate (though not really....)

tina! they're childhood best friends who have spend most of their lives at eachothers sides. tina is the person who knows her best and really the only one who had been there for her the entire time. she has helped her through a lot of things like what's mentioned in 6.

right after her fiancee had died. she had actually been so desperate that she called rebecca (their relationship had already been pretty bad at that time) who didn't answer, probably bc of work :)

38. do they see themselves as an important part of their party?

not really. she's very much a lone wolf, though she actually does enjoy working in a team with unit bravo a lot, but it definitely takes some getting used to. in the past she has always tried to emotionally distance herself from the people around her as much as possible and sees herself more as a liability for the people close to her. when it comes to the professional aspects she believes she works best on her own and hence thinks that she does not really contribute a lot to the team

45. what lies do they tell themselves?

the lies she most frequently tells herself lately are about how she's doing (she's doing fine), her feelings for adam (what feelings) and her relationship with rebecca (she's totally indifferent to her :))

Hi bestie I'm here I'm queer I'm going to ask you what's your favorite book (or if I've already asked this, what's your ultimate dating deal-breaker or maybe just relationship deal-breaker in general doesn't have to be romantic). Also, Killian is my second favorite character because Emma is my absolute favorite character on that entire show. Their relationship was EVERYTHING to me, I love sunshine v darkness trope so much, hence sterek and destiel as well. I love teen wolf but idk how much of that is because I was like 13 when I started watching it tbh. I would watch it just for dylan's performance in season 3 because HOLY SHIT he should have won a fucking Oscar.

asldjkflsdkjf oh my gosh are we meant to be best friends?? Ugh yes Emma is absolutely fantastic I just personally relate to Killian just that smidge more I think. They are both so special to me 😍 Ugh yes that trope is the best. Everlark was another couple that had that dynamic for me. Man now you're making me wonder if watching it for Dylan would be worth it. My only concern is that it might be too YA for me (I get very turned off by highschool stories). That's why I haven't picked it up yet. I'm afraid I missed the boat on that show. Now I tend to enjoy my YA stories to be fantasy because then the characters are more likely to be less immature (and potentially traumatized by the stakes of the fantasy world which is also fun - looking at you TFOTA trilogy and Grishaverse books).

Whoooo boy okay a favorite book is really hard because books mean a lot to me. I think you know that about me by now so you're getting a list from the last couple years lol:

TFOTA trilogy - the politics was so fun and the twists and turns kept me engaged. I read all 3 books in 48 hours and have reread them multiple times since in the last couple years because they were so good.

The Hunger Games trilogy - that series is straight up literature. There is so much to unpack.

In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan - idk what to say about this book except that the characters are so loveable, the take on portal fantasy is unique and the way she flipped sexism on it's head was so thoughtprovoking.

A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland - excellent anxiety rep, top tier slow burn without a lot of drama or miscommunications, beautifully written fantasy world with no homophobia

Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pacat - um this is a more problematic pick but if you're down for a high fantasy slow burn true hate to love romance this is where it's at man. You will have such a good time you won't even know what you signed up for until you are embroiled in the middle of it. Gosh Laurent's character arc gives me life.

Anything in Alexis Hall's Spires Series + Boyfriend Material - what this man has to say about gender and queer identity changed my mindset about what it is to be queer and I love it so much. His books made me feel so seen especially Pansies, For Real, and Boyfriend Material.

What Is a Girl Worth? by Rachael Denhollander - The only nonfiction book on this list lol. I loved how eloquently she spoke about her story and how she included the problems she's seen in the church around sexual assault. We need someone who has the legal and Christian connections to advocate for survivors but she's doing it and that really inspires me.

If I have to pick just one though - I pick Boyfriend Material and here's why (x). It's really personal to my insecurities and it made me feel very seen and loved. It's the epitome of a comfort book for me. Whenever I need a pick me up I go to that book and listening to Joe Jameson's voice gives me hope that I too will be loved in this precious way.  Honestly this is why the Spires books and Boyfriend Material are so special to me: These are stories about people who think they are broken and the men that show them that they've never been broken actually. They get to hear "I love you however you are. But also who you are is a person who can do things so you don't have to stagnate like this." It was so healing to read about I cannot even tell you.

If you're looking to check Boyfriend Material out you need the audiobook I promise you!! I will hook you up bestie just let me know 😉

Oh also my main platonic or romantic deal breaker is a combination of apathy and lack of thinking deeply about things (the reverse is also true - I find people who are passionate and think deeply about art and life super attractive. Those are the people I keep in my life).
