In case no one else has here is reylo Twitter book drama:

Reylo author has book coming out. Has other debut authors she is in a group with. Is intimdated/worried that some of these other authors' books will outline and overshadow hers. So she makes a bunch of fake goodreads accounts and leaves good reviews for her own book and trashes the other debut authors books on all the accounts. The other authors notice that the same accounts that are trashing them are also all hyping up that one woman's book. One of the authors compiles a bunch of evidence that this has happened and posts on Twitter. The post blows up and the reylo author claims that actually it was actually definitely her fellow reylo shipper who did all that cause the friend didn't know better and was just trying to support her. She posts discord screenshots as proof. Other reylos come out and say they've never heard of this friend/the friends discord isn't in any part of the reylo community, and also since the author had posted the screenshots the "friend's" discord had been deleted so there was no way of verifying their existence or seeing how long the account had existed. It becomes clear that the author faked the screenshots to try and claim innocence. The screenshot convos were also badly witten so lmao. Anyway yeah so shitty reylo author got revealed as both a cheat and a liar and hope her writing career is dead in the dirt. (Also she left trash reviews on a self published indie author of color's book with all her fake accounts and that author was completely unrelated to her debut authors group so like double fuck her)

When you finish a first draft, how does it look? Is it readable or does it have more holes than a swiss cheese? What are your next steps, and how much changes?

Usually, my first drafts are very messy but readable. I may skip a few scenes, or add quick notes instead - what I know the characters need to do, or what I don't know they are going to do, so that I can figure it out later. After finishing a draft I usually take the time to try and write in some of those skipped scenes, do a bit of editing to polish off the writing for the second draft, think of what went "wrong" or what I really enjoyed about certain scenes, or just like, erase whole chunks of the story that don't work anymore and think about what scenes could take their place, that sort of thing!

Then, depending on how I feel about the final version of this first draft, I may set it aside for a while and start some other WIPs (a hiatus, so to speak, to let the ideas for the next draft rest and develop, so that I can come back to it some months later with a fresh mind. For example, my WIP The Last Wrath is in that kind of hiatus rn!), or - if I'm really, really full of ideas and excited to write this next draft - I just move onto the second draft. (:

Hello! I have been following you for a bit, mostly for ACOTAR content, but I did read your newest Rexsoka work and I really enjoyed it! I am extremely new to the Rexsoka/Clone Wars fandom but would like to dabble in it and see if anything catches my fancy. Do you have any recommendations or places to start? I don't know if you've watched any Clone Wars, so I'm going to list some here where you don't need to have any significant pre-knowledge of canon. If you have watched any, I can totally rec some of the more canon-compliant/divergent ones that I've enjoyed. So these are all AUs, which I adore anyways.

In no particular order, here are some faves, and honestly ANY of the works by these authors are ones I'd recommend!

I lied when I said I didn't need you by @jewelofmandalore: A GFFA college AU that has exquisite dynamics. She's also kicking off a great series that's very loosely inspired by House of the Dragon's Rhaenyra and Harwin, but no knowledge of either Star Wars or HOTD is needed to enjoy this one!

sharp & glorious thorn by @chocmarss: Medieval vibes, enemies to lovers, and some simply gorgeous writing. I re-read this one probably once a month -- it's just so delicious.

they didn't prepare him for this on kamino by @darthgoosegoose: this is a WIP but so juicy! When ACOTAR folks start dipping a toe in rexsoka this is the one I recommend because it has such impeccable sithy, enemies to lovers, quarantine couple vibes. I love it so much.

one day by @amukmuk: Modern AU, friends to lovers, and so beautifully written. this one is for sure slow-burn vibes and I cried when it was done, because the ending had such a good payoff.

Hemlock (he/they paladin) is visibly divine. They were born with three very-pale marks on their forehead — they look like someone touched them with their index/middle/ring fingers and that touch left a mark. But the thing is, no god has claimed them ever since. They've had no direct contact with any deity (prior to the game) and their Oath wasn't sworn to any god in particular, but they still have all this radiant power, so someone must like them... it's sort of a "hey what do you want from me???" situation that only gets weirder once their Oath is broken.

Hem's most mundane trait is that they're a back sleeper lol. Can't fall asleep on their side or stomach. Spooning is hard.

Century (any pronouns cleric) is so so weird — but if we ignore all of the usual Durge amnesia weirdness, his most unusual trait is that he has a lot of vocal tics. It's like a verbal muscle memory — a lot of times it's just nonsensical mutterings but sometimes it's upsetting stuff, even after he shakes off the Urge. He's conscious of it and really doesn't want to be the party face because of this. Sometimes he ends up as the face anyway.

Century's most mundane trait is that he's bad at math. Numbers just go in one ear and straight out the other. And dates? This poor person has no idea what year it is much less the month and day of the week. He has so many other problems that this ranks very low on the Things To Improve list.

Homegirl was in her bedroom LOL! So what I typically do is play all the dress up I want in CAS. The sim I end up doing this with is usually already on a lot. Since I don't play Mika much, I took a wall in her room and used the photo walls, posed her and started snapping.

If I did more CAS stuff I'd probably have something like a dedicated room for this. But, yeah... If I'm doing a main OC and playing around, I just switch the paint back after posing. So the portrait I did of Dira in that BOMB ASS HAIR (omg!) was in her room with two panels of paint changed.

hi I would like your thoughts on eve mcblase

oh yeah i still have a bunch of those "say the name of a character and i'll tell you a bunch of stuff i just made up about them" asks in my inbox. welp! best time to answer an ask is when you get it, second best time is.....weeks later

-clone. created by...the spies?? the league? not sure. the spies never told eve where she came from and she never asked.

-not a very....good clone. epic cloning attempt fail. came out kind of goopy and not exactly human. human shaped at least but for a while she couldn't even maintain that shape all the time.

-puts up a front of being evil and mean and not caring what other people think most of the time. it's...somewhat effective. almost no one has ever actually been intimidated by her but she's definitely made people not want to be around her! which unfortunately creates this self-fulfilling prophecy of "people don't like me -> pretend i don't care and be evil -> this makes people not like me -> continue acting like i don't care". :(

-however!! if she is in a place or with someone where she doesn't feel like she has to put on that front, eve is actually very enthusiastic and bubbly (although she'd probably resent being called bubbly). very much like that tumblr post that's like "ehehe!!! i giggle and kick my legs while thinking of violence" and "girl writing in her diary with a pink glitter gel pen but she's just writing 'violence and killing and killing and violence' over and over again". but like the violence is cartoon violence? filled with joyous whimsy even if the joyous whimsy is mostly about explosions

-peridot stevenuniverse energy. like a lot.

-did Not like being on the spies. doesn't really like to think about her time on the spies at all. doesn't hold a grudge against any of the players (anymore), but still gets twitchy even if they're just going to houston for an away game

-not really sure what evelton the original thought of her. thinks of her? she never really talked to him. tried to avoid it as much as she could, actually. only kind of regrets it now

-loved the mechanics, a lot. made friends, built all sorts of rube goldberg contraptions, became wanted for numerous counts of osha violation, felt wanted for the first time in maybe her whole life. (aside from being wanted for the crimes. that's a different thing.) however at the end of season 17 the mechanics had the worst record in the league and eve felt like she was dragging them down and she didn't want to do that. so she left.

-while on the lift evelton mcblase ii got swept elsewhere for i think the first time ever? except for one incident where she returned in the same game. anyway they were swept and flipped negative and during their time Elsewhere they had a lot of time to think. and the thought they emerged with was "hmm. what if i was a girl."

-(it is important to Me Personally that eve is like "yeah i was a boy at one point but maybe not really and then later i was a girl". however she is very insistent that gender aside she has never been evelton mcblase)

-the mills are the first team since the mechanics that she stays with for multiple seasons :,) they are important to her because they make her deal with the consequences of her actions but also make it clear that those consequences will not be "we stop wanting you around". if you put eels in the hudson river we will force you to learn about the ecosystem of the hudson river and work to correct the damage you have done but you will still have a room in the apartment and we will still want you to be here. excuse me i made myself cat crying emoji

-likes brecken broken ridge a lot, is taking surprisingly well to being a theater kid. has complicated feelings about there now being no evelton mcblase around for anyone to compare her to. she got her wish: she's just eve, and there's no other her. and that's...good, right?

-final and most important thing: during her time on the mills eve regularly goes down to wall street and does this. with the voice and everything

Thank you for asking so I can reiterate it as it’s gotten buried!

The way I’ve designed this event is hopefully to make it as minimally stressful on applicants as possible! People can sign up at any point during the creation period, so you don’t have to worry about being late to it until after people have posted art on showcase day. On the flip side, people are also free to drop out if they’ve become too busy, no questions asked! Creation period was just the best name I could come up with as people do be creating!

So no, you’re not too late! Come join us! :D
