We just met these 2 feline friends at Catilandi. They're Derek and Candela. They were both felines that make good friends to each other, and they were bonding to be bound together.

Derek is a bobcat who is loyal and slightly independent. He likes to catch prey during wintertime, having fun in the tundra continent, becoming a most famous predator and being partners with Candela. He is voiced by Antonio Banderas.

Candela is a Tsushima leopard cat who is lovely and caring at being alone in the Japanese continent. She likes to echo her own voice that says, "hu-hu-hu" while getting lost, touching her tail, "paw" the water with her paws while touching it gently, speaking in Japan with her greetings, playing in the snow with her friends and lives in Japan. She is voiced by Michelle Ruff.

Sometime when my older siblings were little, my dad discovered that they found stories about his childhood more entertaining if he told them as "One time my friend Frederick..." instead of "One time when I was a kid...", and thus Frederick Stories were born.

I loved hearing Frederick Stories growing up, and so did all of my siblings. At some point, Dad decided to write (some of) them down, and a year or two ago I asked him for the file.

And now, currently in the mail to arrive late for Christmas, is a hand-bound copy of his book.

Two copies, actually, because I'm also sending one to his parents. He mentioned in the introduction that when he had first written these stories down, he had given them a copy for Christmas, and I thought they would like to have another, probably more nicely bound, one.

There's a third copy for me, but it took me long enough to finish these two before Christmas, and my copy isn't finished yet. Mostly, but not quite.

It is bound in a nice brown cloth I have, and titled with gold paint, because I thought it would lend it a sort of Old Book vibe that I thought would go well with the title.

Hence also the gothic font for the title.

I also did a few experiments with ways of turning cloth into bookcloth, which is why the two books are a bit different in color. The one on the right in the above picture is the original cloth color.

The edges are gilded with the same gold paint as the title is done in, which also helps with the Old Fancy Book vibe I wanted.

Almost all of the stories opened with "One day, Frederick..." or "One time, Frederick...", and I picked a nice ornamental font for the dropcaps there.

literally cannot stop thinking about the foxes growing up to be helpful adults especially the monsters because like with the upperclassmen and even with nicky its slightly more expected as compared to the twinyards, kevin and neil

not by my own definition but by the perception people have of them in canon - the selfish, hotheaded or largely indifferent to everyone except their own affairs type of people

but aaron chose to become a doctor and i think of him seeing mothers give up their kids at birth and of people constantly loving and losing and how possible it is for him to be known as a kind doctor - someone who would sit with a man who lost his wife or a mother who's lost her child, someone who would do coffee runs for his colleagues and give flowers to recovering patients (and maybe katelyn bought them the first time but he could repeat the gesture, yknow? he's got a good learning curve)

im thinking of kevin making sure that a portion of his hefty income goes to actual genuine charities and for work against human trafficking and child abuse because what's he going to do with this much money? particularly after amalia is born he would be so much more careful if he ever sees kids or teenagers in parking lots and senses some imminent danger

not just that but kevin keeping an eye out for his fans or any signing events he has where he sees something unfair happen and steps in or asks security to step in immediately i feel like for him its still difficult to put himself on the forefront of a threatening situation unlike andreil but he does his best to try and to listen to the kids that come and rant to him about exy to entertain them with his genuine smiles

idk just the idea of the monsters being so very human and recognizing humanity in others is something that can be so personal

#the more i see the 'andreil moved in and got two cats they're living the life' type of posts its making me think #about how the monsters all did eventually settle down #life did not end when they were teenagers they made it out of that hellish period to a timeline where they #have responsibility over themselves their actions can make an impact and in small subtle ways they can see that #they know how much it would have mattered if someone had been there with them during their tough times #they know better than anyone how insane it is to have someone help u it feels smthn like how neil does whenever the foxes are kind to him #and why would he reserve that to himself? they didn't know him and their kindness knew no bounds how could he not pay it forward?#they would make wymack proud #aftg #tfc #kevin day #aaron minyard #neil josten #andrew minyard #andreil #kevaaron

All day, when Cayla and Acacia met these 3 lovable characters too. They're just "Family is Friendships"!

Katie is a domesticated cat who is caring but lovable. She does making best friends with Cayla, being "purr-fectly caring", playing with yarn, sleeping and chasing lights. She is voiced by Allegra Clark.

Ava is a domesticated dog who is active at playing sports. She does playing fetch with Acacia, training, chewing on toys and chasing her tail. She is voiced by Addison Holley.

Shara is a white domesticated rabbit who is optimistic at hopscotch. She does hopscotch, hidden in the burrows, being nice at Cayla and Acacia, and eating carrots for the first time. She is voiced by Kristyn Mass.

Trying To Communicate by @copperbadge for @saltyteethbooks for the @renegadepublishing mini book bang!

@saltyteethbooks did the typeset, and I bound it, and sent it over to them.

I'm supposed to make myself a copy too, but stuff happened and I wasn't able to bookbind for like half a month, after procrastinating the first half of the month, and I finished this copy on the last day before we were supposed to get them in the mail.

So.

I'll make my copy later.

It was fun making a sextodecimal book! It's a cute little size, and I'll probably make some more after this. This one might be a little bit of an odd size, because it's typeset for A4 paper, but I shrank it a little to print on Letter instead, and then the printer shrank it a little more because it likes to add margins.

So it's got A proportions, but is a little bit smaller.

The title is done with a new gold paint I got recently! Nice and shiny, and I only had to use one coat plus a few small touchups in spots.
