What if Mobius was a villain/anti-hero in his past life?

Here’s why I think there’s a good possibility for this:

While it’s probably easier for Marvel to go the boring route (Mobius was simply a normal dude with a normal job and a normal family, etc), I think there’s more to Mobius than we think. Owen Wilson himself teased Mobius has a deeper story arc this season:

In the latest episode, X-5 (or Brad) strikes a nerve when asking Mobius why he’s not interested in his past. Mobius tells Loki that he likes his life at the TVA- that’s his purpose and he’s good at it (My Lokius heart also tells me that it’s because he likes being with Loki and doesn’t want to lose him if he goes back to his past life- yeah yeah, I’m delusional, I know…)

I may be looking to hard into this (I’m a writer and reader, over-analyzing is what I do) but what if there’s a reason Mobius prefers his life at the TVA? Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that his memories have been wiped, but what if there’s something deep within him (part of his subconscious perhaps) that’s telling him to avoid his past?

I looked into Mobius’ comic counterpart to see what I could learn about the character. There’s not much. He’s had interactions with the Fantastic Four and She-Hulk, but there aren’t any details on his past. However, there are a few things I found interesting:

We all know that Kang created the TVA, but could this imply that Mobius may have known Kang personally and chose to work with him? Let’s dive deeper:

Mobius is also known as Mr. Tesseract. Why? I have no idea. He doesn’t seem to have any relation with the Tesseract. (There are some VERY cool fanarts though, so check them out if you have time). However, there’s more:

There’s a Mr. Orobourous and a Mr. Paradox as well. We just met Orobourous (spelt as Ouroboros) in the first episode of season two. Also, connect the dots: Mr Paradox = General Dox? I may be looking too deep into this, but I feel like these three may be connected in some way.

While this still isn’t a lot of information, there’s still a chance that this alias has something to do with Mobius’ backstory in the show. So, here’s my theory:

What if Mobius, once known as Mr. Tesseract, worked closely with Kang? What if he helped build the TVA? There’s a possibility that he has powers he doesn’t know about (as well as O.B. and Dox) that helped structure the TVA. Mr. Tesseract may have powers similar to his namesake. Mobius balances the TVA’s power over space, Ouroboros (which, in definition, is a snake that represents infinity) balances the power over time, and Dox balances the power over reality.

So, why don’t they have their memories? I theorize that Mobius (and maybe the others) eventually realized that Kang was wrong. Maybe he attempted to overthrow him. In the end, Kang defeated him and took away his memories as punishment, making him forget about his powers. We also know that Mobius’ memories have been wiped more than once, so there’s a chance that Mobius’ powers (in theory) eventually resurface, causing Kang to repeat the process.

This may be just some wacko theory that I overanalyzed and spent too much time on (probably) but the idea excites me. If this is in anyway true, how will Mobius react? How will Loki react? How will this impact the course of the show?

I can’t wait to find out more. Again, Mobius may have just been some random jet ski enthusiast on the time line. But that’s the boring option. Marvel, please don’t be boring. (Marvel’s probably going to make it boring).

Mission Impossible Rant ? Part 1

had a breakdown and watched all 7 (seven) Mission Impossible movies over the course of *checks watch* three days? Read more for an unhinged rant. Or scroll away. Don't care either way cause life is pointless etc etc

MI:1 - The beginning. The oldest of the bunch. And just like all elder siblings, this one's stoic as hell. Ethan Hunt is introduced to us as this charismatic, cocky agent, out for chaos. Movie looks like it's going to be yet another generic action thriller. Except- his entire team dies (Well, not all of them- more like most of them). Thus begins a noir drama of sorts and honestly? It still holds up. It is paced perfectly, has those late 90s over-the-top action sequences and is a good time all around.

2. MI:2- So, this is where it gets interesting. For some background trivia, let me tell you why this movie's existence is interesting as hell. Up until MI:2, Tom Cruise has never participated in a sequel. People were wondering if he ever would, and sure enough we soon got MI:2 . MI:2 can be best described as a Woo- fever dream of sorts. The only things I can remember now are Thandiwe Newton, pigeons (and doves?) and a cliff climbing. It is the weakest of the bunch in my opinion.

3. MI:3- Lack of critical reception to MI:2 led to a change in directors. Tom Cruise ends up watching Alias and falls deeply in love with JJ Abrahms. JJ has a whole new aesthetic for the franchise. And action!

The entire ending of MI:2 is forgotten. No, seriously, this one begins with Ethan's engagement party to a random girl. He has taken a step back from spying, and is just chilling about- mostly teaching the craft to other agents. Keri Russel is one such agent, and when she gets kidnapped, Hunt springs into action. Russel is killed (wasted Keri Russel imo- go watch The Americans) , Hunt gets married, his wife gets kidnapped and nearly killed- this one's a doozy. Philip Seymour Hoffmann (RIP) is exemplary as a villain though.

Another highlight is Benjamin "Benji" Dunn. More on this later.

4. MI- Ghost Protocol- Keeping in with the let's- get- a- new-director- tradition, this one has Brad Bird at its helm. Bird hasn't directed any live action movies at this point, but he does have more than a decade's experience with animated material (The Incredibles, Ratatouille).

Honestly, this is my absolute favourite of the bunch. This film has everything- the iconic Burg Khalifa sequence, great dialogue, AMAZING pacing. The supporting cast have this incredible chemistry with each other. And this one has humour too! (most of the credit due to Benji, played by Simon Pegg).

Absolutely everything goes wrong in this movie and that's why it slaps. The tension is palpable in almost all scene. This movie is the one that revitalizes the franchise. It only gets better from here.

Dune (1984)

This is my father's favorite movie. Every time I walk into my parents' house, I see the Baron floating around laughing maniacally. I have never watched it in its entirety, and with the new ones out, I wanted to watch this before I moved on to Dune: Part One. I spent an hour of the film being SO confused about what was happening and why. But about an hour in (I know, that's a long time), I realized how super into it I was, and the more I started to understand what was up, the more I enjoyed it. Ultimately, a really good film, and I hope I enjoy the new one as much as I liked this one! And I can't express enough how much I love the pug that made it through the whole damn film. Loki Season 2: Who Plays X-5?

"Loki" Season 2 brings everyone's favorite god of mischief back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — but he's not alone. Marvel Studios' first foray into a multi-season show introduces plenty of new characters, like O.B. (Ke Huy Quan), General Dox (Kate Dickie), and X-5 (Rafael Casal), a Time Variance Authority (TVA) agent with quite the disdain for Mobius (Owen Wilson) and his love of Jet Skis. Although "Loki" Season 2 is Casal's most mainstream project to date, the actor has had enough appearances in his relatively young career to leave viewers wondering where they've seen him before. In 2018, he starred in the critically acclaimed movie "Blindspotting," writing and acting alongside longtime friend Daveed Diggs to bring the culture and reality of Oakland, California, to life on-screen. Casal also starred in, produced, and served as showrunner for Starz's spin-off sequel series of the same name. Additionally, the actor was part of the ensemble cast of "Bad Education," playing Kyle Contreras alongside Hugh Jackman, Ray Romano, and Allison Janney in HBO's award-winning television movie on America's largest public school embezzlement case. He also appeared on the 2019 revival of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" as the main villain, Mr. Tophat, and played John Cook on Showtime's "The Good Lord Bird" miniseries. "Loki" Season 2, Episode 1 introduces X-5 as a seemingly strict TVA agent who delivers Mobius and B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) to the TVA's judges' council. Based on the Season 2 trailer, fans can expect to see more of Rafael Casal, who seems to be going by the alias Brad Wolfe outside of the TVA. However, you won't catch the actor revealing much about his character anytime soon. "I cannot even confirm or deny this," Casal joked in April in response to Screen Rant Plus interviewer Tatiana Hullender's comment that he's "Loki" Season 2. "But that's a cool show, and if I was on it, it would be so awesome. I'll bet Tom Hiddleston is the best, I think Owen Wilson seems like a really awesome guy, and that all that cast and crew, I'll bet, are fantastic to work with. And so I'm really excited to see what Season 2 has because I'm a fan." While Casal found a fun way to adhere to any NDAs he may or may not have with Marvel Studios, "Loki" Season 2, Episode 1 officially confirms his MCU debut as X-5, and based on his scenes, it's evident he had a great time filming alongside Hiddleston and Wilson.

You wanna know what headcanon I would die for and fight everyone? Jake has a talent for cooking. Like, imagine.... Him discovering cooking, finding out it's soothing, and his heart squeezing when he sees the people he cares about happy with the meal he made. IMAGINE! Ah I fucking love it.

I LOVE IT

Jake learned a new form of love language and he loves it.

He loves to prepare meals for Jerry and Lineman when they go to school.

Makes sure Brad and Jason eat well, they sometimes make him company while cooking, watching with pride how their boss and friend is having a good time preparing a good meal.

He prepares nutritunial meals for Sinu so he can recover quickly and fine, and makes sure Sinu feels loved.

Jake cooks little snacks for the boys, they love so much his boss

Oh and the girls, they share each other's dishes and receipts, and Jake learned to make some chocolates for them.

I honestly don't know enough about the character to hazard a guess. But it's a comic book. People rarely stay dead. ● Ah, "Absonus" is Latin for Strange. That was the alias Strange used at Arkham Asylum. ● ooo, Batman almost let slip to Gordon that "the alley" has significance to him. Heh, and Gordon actually saw Batman leave this time. ● love that car

● yes, yes, solemn vow. we know. move on. ● huh. interesting that in his talk at his parents' grave, Bruce admits that even now he feels lost. he's usually a paragon of confidence, so it's nice when a little vulnerability creeps in like this ● Alfred 💜 ● cut to a woman waking up on a wooden floor (probably at the old mansion). there's a man near her, unconscious. ● woman's name is Charlene Connors, and the guy is Brad Simmons. they're surprised to see each other, but they know each other because they went to high school together ● yikes!

● that's fear toxin spewing from the eyes of a portrait hanging in the mansion ● ah, Jonathan Crane went to high school with them, too. they bullied him. ● (don't be a bully, kids, or the Scarecrow might get you!) ● cut to GCPD. Gordon is in his office with Batman. Beheading victim in the alley was Jason Bludhorn, also one of Crane's bullies ● on the roof, they alter the Bat Signal so that it summons Catwoman

● Catwoman gives info to Batman to help him try to find Scarecrow ● what she tells him doesn't actually help him… at least until she reveals she left a tracking device at the mansion

● back to Brad and Charlene, who are not having a swell time ● Batman arrives to the mansion… and Scarecrow knew about Catwoman's tracking device all along ● Batman enters, and bars drop down to cover the windows and doors ● Scarecrow doesn't use gas because he knows about Batman's nose filters, so he uses a dart… that gets Batman right in the face 😂 ● 👏👏👏

Synopsis: In the alley where his parents got killed, Batman lies on his back after Catwoman nearly knocked him out. Lasciviously, Catwoman sits on top of Batman and tells him that she had no choice to help Scarecrow but she is not Batman's enemy. Before she swings away, Catwoman also briefly mentions that Hugo Strange is dead.

Batman immediately meets with Captain Gordon who confirms that it was Hugo Strange who got Scarecrow out of Arkham Asylum. Batman wants to Gordon to contact him when he knows the identity of the young man whom Scarecrow decapitated.

After visiting the grave of his parents, Bruce Wayne orders Alfred to use more of his money to fund the Wayne Foundation which is helping crime victims.

Meanwhile, Charlene Connors and Brad Simmons both find themselves trapped in the house Scarecrow is using as a hideout. Both have been classmates of Jonathan Crane and have taunted him during his years in high-school. Now Scarecrow uses his fear toxin against them to finally get revenge.

Gordon tells Batman that Scarecrow's victim was connected to Crane's past and two other persons fitting this criteria have been abducted last night. To prevent another murder, Batman needs the help of Catwoman. Reluctantly, Gordon uses the Bat-Signal to contact her. Catwoman confesses that Scarecrow blackmailed her after discovering her secret identity. Batman offers a truce between them and because Catwoman left a tracer she is able to tell him where to find Scarecrow. But Crane did find the tracer and is already waiting for Batman to arrive. As soon as Batman enters the house, Scarecrow seals all exits and then he pierces Batman with a dart which probably is poisoned …

You know, while I think the recent Super Mario Bros movie is an excellent representation of the franchise despite the complaints I have. It’s a nice film. Yet before seeing it...and a month ago I think I thought of this or two months ago...it sounds strange. I feel like wanting to make my own strange “Darker” or interpretation of Mario which sounds strange. Mainly concerning the original Donkey Kong arcade game because I love that game. Again, just for the fun of it and...it’s amusing to think about.

But alias...this video gave me I guess what I kind of wanted.

Also, yes, I am aware of the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie. I have seen it years ago; I didn’t hate it. But I want to rewatch it sometime. It’s weird I’m talking about this. travis  was  born  to  a  third  generation  farm  rancher  and  a  hair  stylist  ,  in  hinesville  ,  georgia  .  the  buckley  house  was  one  full  of  music  and  laughter  .  a  family  that  genuinely  loved  the  company  of  one  another  .  from  a  young  age  travis  took  a  particular  liking  to  the  record  player  in  the  family  room  ,  playing  music  whenever  he  could  get  away  with  it  .  before  his  little  sister  could  so  much  as  walk  he  was  teaching  her  the  words  to  all  the  best  country  songs  from  the  80s  ,  even  as  a  child  he  thought  music  was  the  best  form  of  bonding  .  it  wasn’t  long  before  he  started  singing  in  the  church  choir  ,  his  own  little  escape  from  the  mundane  work  that  came  with  going  to  school  or  helping  out  around  the  ranch  whenever  his  father  needed  an  extra  hand  .      

most  people  like  him  never  even  so  much  as  left  their  small  town  but  at  a  young  age  his  parents  knew  travis’  life  called  for  so  much  more  than  taking  over  the  ranch  ,  he  wasn’t  meant  to  be  hidden  away  in  some  small  town  in  georgia  .  he  was  a  dreamer  with  enough  talent  to  actually  do  something  more  with  his  life  .  over  the  radio  one  morning  the  family  learned  of  auditions  for  young  actors  that  were  going  on  in  savannah  ,  georgia  .  the  way  his  eyes  lit  up  ,  said  it  all  to  his  parents  .  that  weekend  they  packed  up  their  pick  up  truck  and  headed  to  the  city  .  he  didn’t  get  the  part  he  went  for  ,  his  parents  ready  to  give  him  words  of  encouragement  but  travis  didn’t  need  them  claiming  on  his  own  “  i’ll  get  the  next  one  “  .  something  of  a  promise  to  himself  .  now  back  home  in  hineville  ,  he  had  something  new  to  be  passionate  about  and  it  didn’t  take  long  for  him  to  start  trying  out  for  local  plays  (  most  of  which  were  done  through  the  church  they  attended  )  .  he  was  getting  lead  parts  within  a  couple  years  of  doing  it  ,  the  next  time  an  audition  came  around  he  knew  he’d  be  ready  for  it  .  his  confidence  and  hard  work  was  rewarded  at  thirteen  when  he  booked  his  first  gig  .  a  recurring  character  on  a  tv  show  shooting  in  atlanta  .  his  mom  ,  being  his  biggest  supporter  played  taxi  driver  regularly  for  him  .  three  hour  drives  filled  with  the  two  of  them  going  over  his  lines  and  when  he  finally  felt  comfortable  with  them  the  two  turned  up  the  radio  and  revisited  his  first  love  ,  music  .

the  door  was  now  open  for  him  and  he  started  booking  more  and  more  roles  .  during  dry  spells  he  would  spend  his  nights  at  karaoke  spots  ,  never  really  losing  his  love  for  music  .  everything  changed  when  he  got  the  role  of  j.d  in  thelma  and  louise  ,  it  was  his  big  breakout  role  and  it  seemed  everything  he’d  worked  for  had  finally  come  to  a  head  .  all  eyes  were  on  him  .  a  few  more  movies  later  and  reality  struck  he  couldn’t  continue  on  this  career  path  and  live  in  hineville  so  he  made  the  big  leap  and  moved  to  hollywood  .  admittedly  he  was  like  a  fish  out  of  water  and  without  his  family  around  he  began  to  slip  into  the  uglier  parts  of  the  industry  .  a  once  sheltered  country  boy  had  turned  into  a  man  controlled  solely  by  his  vices  .  it  was  after  the  premiere  for  inglorious  bastards  that  travis  seemingly  disappeared  .  neither  his  friends  nor  his  agents  knew  were  he’d  gone  .  hollywood’s  heart  throb  had  gone  missing  ,  without  a  word  .  

he’d  decided  at  the  night  of  the  premiere  that  with  the  help  of  his  family  he  would  check  into  a  rehab  facility  in  georgia  .  at  the  time  he  was  ready  to  wipe  his  hands  clean  of  acting  and  hollywood  as  a  whole  .  he  just  wanted  to  feel  like  himself  again  ,  truthfully  .  after  a  little  over  a  month  he  was  released  from  the  inpatient  facility  and  bought  a  house  as  close  to  his  father’s  ranch  as  he  could  .  it  was  ironic  ,  growing  up  he  never  wanted  to  be  hidden  away  in  the  state  he  grew  up  in  and  now  here  he  was  doing  just  that  .  it  was  a  couple  years  of  playing  the  part  of  a  rancher  when  some  of  his  childhood  friends  came  up  with  a  plan  to  get  him  out  of  his  hiding  .  what  was  only  meant  to  be  a  boys  trip  to  nashville  turned  into  travis  meeting  country  singer  luke  bryan  ,  who  he  would  later  write  a  catalog  of  songs  for  .

once  again  ,  travis  decided  to  take  a  leap  and  moved  to  nashville  in  late  2012  .  he  performed  at  local  bars  for  a  few  months  before  he  was  approached  by  a  music  executive  ,  it  wasn’t  much  longer  before  he  was  signed  a  record  label  and  working  on  what  would  be  his  debut  album  .  the  media  fell  into  a  frenzie  ,  naturally  .  magazines  all  over  the  country  talking  about  how  the  heartthrob  had  thrown  away  his  scripts  for  a  guitar  .  he  didn’t  pay  the  media  much  mind  though  ,  deciding  to  leave  that  to  his  team  .  if  he  had  made  anything  clear  it  was  that  he  didn’t  care  about  the  fame  that  came  knocking  at  his  door  at  such  a  young  age  ,  he  just  wanted  to  do  something  meaningful  .

in  2014  ,  he  released  his  self  -  titled  debut  album  and  a year  later  won  the  acm  new  artist  of  the  year  award  .  he  was  steam  rolling  forward  with  music  ,  with  no  intentions  to  ever  look  back  on  his  acting  days  .  that  was  until  he  met  his  current  girlfriend  ,  an  actress  shooting  a  film  in  nashville  at  the  time  .  he  fell  for  her  fast  and  hard  and  before  he  knew  it  the  distance  was  something  of  a  swear  word  .  it  was  just  a  year  in  and  she  approached  him  with  an  opportunity  to  get  back  into  acting  .  he’d  convinced  himself  for  years  he  wanted  nothing  to  do  with  acting  ever  again  ,  it  had  turned  him  into  a  shell  of  himself  but  she  was  quick  to  remind  him  that  he  was  a  different  person  now  and  far  to  talented  to  never  pick  up  a  script  ever  again  .  with  her  support  he  returned  to  the  big  screen  as  tyler  durden  in  fight  club  .  throughout  filming  he  refound  his  love  for  being  in  front  the  camera  and  with  every  award  or  accolade  that  came  afterwards  he  was  quick  to  fit  the  one  person  he  owed  the  resurgence  of  his  acting  career  to  into  his  speech  ,  his  girlfriend  .

in  the  last  few  years  he’d  made  the  permanent  decision  to  move  back  to  california  .  at  first  a  test  for  himself  ,  but  it  quickly  just  became  clear  living  in  los  angles  made  his  busy  schedule  much  easier  .
