Po Yun characters rated by swag

Yan Xie: 0/10 He thinks he's a natural 20, but actually has none. As one of the characters said, "Don't listen to him. He's a dumbass." This is magnified after cohabitation with Jiang Ting, because he becomes a domesticated dumbass who is completely whipped. The narrative goes on about how he's a stereotypical alpha male, but this man can't survive a blind date to save his life. The author very correctly decided criminal investigators have no swag at all and wrote a novel about it. He grows on you like a fungus, but still has zero swag. That said, do not get in a fight with him. He will win.

Jiang Ting: Could have swag. He's intelligent, able to analyze details in moments, and elegant. Then he starts to eat and any swag he might have had evaporates. He was married to his work and highly stressed and traumatized from being a triple agent and it shows. 3/10, though I'm tempted to bump it to four for the way he straight up murders both Yan Xie and Bu Chonghua via text message. Professor Jiang is growing into swag by virtue of finally having free time and accepting his moronsexuality in the second book. That might be generous though considering he's still terrorized by his mother-in-law. I adore him, but his swag will always be low.

Jin Jie: He's a professional assassin and it shows. That said, he's also a professional lackey. 6/10, defeated by the protag plot halo, and it was honestly hilarious how Jiang Ting was constantly throwing him under the bus.

Qin Chuan: *extremely grudgingly* He has swag. That said, I'm 100% with Jiang Ting on this. Do not listen to Yan Xie. He has swag, but he's also a little bitch (no sexual connotation on this phrase btw, that's entirely directed at his personality). 7/10, someone please punch him in the face.

Wen Shao: Now here we have a man with swag. He oozes swag that Yan Xie wishes he had. He has opinions on ballet, plays Lana Del Ray songs on the violin like an emo child, and murders teenagers to recreate an important childhood memory with Jiang Ting. He grew up a drug lord with money and poker card code names, and kisses the bloody knuckles of his Red Queen reverently. 12/10, probably would be 14 if the manhua had been able to continue and we got more of him with long hair.

Han Xiaomei: Our favorite baby intern has absolutely no swag. She's an intern at the criminal investigation unit. She's the lowest on the totem pole, barely showers and sleeps when there's a case just like the rest of the team, and cowers when superiors yell at her. I watched her grow up to a young police woman who could sass back at Yan Xie in the final arc with tears in my eyes. The character growth was incredibly moving. 1/10, because she still has no swag.

Yang Mei: In front of Jiang Ting, she is a meek and breedable. When Jiang Ting isn't looking at her, she's a police informant who runs her own ktv, is perfectly put together and her wardrobe costs more than a cop could make in their career. She has swag. She can and will bitch Yan Xie out, fight like a hell cat, save her love rival's life (only because it was Jiang Ting asking though, otherwise she'd still probably save Yan Xie, but she'd never let him forget it), and turn the love rival into the greatest brotp of the novel. 9/10, because Jiang Ting canonly swears to never take both her and Yan Xie on errands together again. Unfortunately for her, no amount of swag will make the man she's in love with less gay or moronosexual.

Ma Xiang: Good at his job, comfortable in his masculinity. Is willing to be gay for 10 minutes if Yan Xie shares his dinner. No real swag on his own, but he's a fun comedic aside most times. 1/10, because he throws up at gruesome murder scenes and thought a curling iron was a sex toy.

Bu Chonghua: Now here we finally have a main protagonist with swag. Someone had to have swag in the novel, and he pulls it off. As Yan Xie's straight-laced little cousin, he's got a temper and authority to match. He may be a trauma kitten, but he is very good at his job and earned his position. He will literally walk through fire and water to show his devotion to Wu Yu. 6/10, because he's also a menace (absolutely related to Yan Xie, no doubt) and a bit bitchy at times. I love him, your honor.

Wu Yu: here's where the swag gets complicated. As Wu Yu, he is meek and mild mannered, no ambition, and very little confidence. This trauma kitten has no swag. He throws up at the mere taste of meat. He just wants to earn enough money to run away from life and never be bothered again. He loves reading and just wants books. People want to feed him, he looks that pathetic. 0/10 but he gets a point or two when he enters the illegal boxing ring for extra money.

As Painter, his swag jumps to 7/10. He's in prison, he's inflitrating various drug rings, he's the pretty boy, and if you try to take advantage he will cut your arm off with a machete. He has no nickname, just a number. Do not cross him. Jin Jie even calls him ge.

As REDACTED, this trauma kitten will end you. He will fight you with his bare hands and tear you apart. He can only be calmed and turned back into Wu Yu by a person he has marked as 'safe'. If you see him jump from any story higher than one, you're not the one who will survive the encounter. When not in murder form, he pretends to be slow and meek. He's a lackey, and he just wants to live someplace poppies don't grow. Yes, I'm Normal about that. 4/10, please just wrap this trauma kitten up in a blanket and feed him fish and chocolates.

Shark: After my glowing review of the first book's main villain, you would think Shark has swag. He has negative swag, however. He's a crypto bro who wants to drag Painter into life and death situations but won't commit to the homoerotism of it. The fact his web handle is shark and his dark web site is the Mariana trench is an insult to both. He acts cool and edgy but nothing can change the fact he'd be all over nfts if the book was written today. -5/10, he's got absolutely nothing on the King of Spades.

Liao Gang: like, he tries. He's decent at his job, but he's not amazing. Will need Wu Yu to back him up to solve major cases, which stresses Wu Yu out because that means he has to speak up. 1/10

Meng Zheng: This is a woman with brass balls. She's the only female police officer in the unit, is late 30s, early 40s, and is called their police beauty because she's the only one. Also, because she would totally win if you say she looks over thirty and she decides to take you out. 7/10, very valid for wanting to be a honey pot because the police would fund her looking sexy, even if she twists her ankle because she hasn't worn heels since before she was pregnant. She's a milf and will forcibly drag poor interns to her level.

Song Hui: No swag. She's interning because of her crush and is a terrified kitten. She just wants to marry rich and be cute. Meng-jie forces feminism on her. After REDACTED, she grows to 1/10 because she doesn't want to let Meng-jie down. Saves the protags, the entire operation, and sees at the blood on her hands that has already been washed away. Great character development, but currently still no swag. She might get some eventually, because she has potential, which, honestly, is more than Han Xiaomei can say.

Song Ping: He's the older gen cop who you still don't want to mess with. Not related to Bu Chonghua by blood, but you can tell exactly who raised the trauma kitten after his parents were killed. 8/10, though you won't know why until the very end.

Lin Zheng: So weirdly, he probably has swag in his usual work. Considering 90% of the time we see him is with Wu Yu, however, he has none. He thinks Painter killed his friend and all he did was complain to the higher ups about it. 2/10, if he'd been a bit more proactive half of his plot line could have been avoided. Also, Jiang Ting says he has Chuan vibes, which makes me want to punch him in the face on principle. I trust Jiang Ting's judgment.

Cai Lin: Fills the same comedic relief in Tun Hai as Ma Xiang did in Po Yun. We love him, but 1/10, he's terrified of maggots and eats ice cream that's from the forensic department freezer.

And finally, the old and beautiful Zeng Cui Cui: If you couldn't tell by her title, Mother Yan has swag. When she feels threatened by Wu Yu's swag, her response is to bling like no one has blinged before and terrifies him with how much money she spent. Jiang Ting knows better than to argue with her. She bought "A Study of the Legal Aspects of Gay Marriage" after her son turned 30 and still couldn't find a girl willing to marry him. She also locked Bu Chonghua out and essentially kidnapped Wu Yu in the back of her trunk when she thought Wu Yu was being forced into the relationship. 10/10, because she sends her sons-in-laws long underwear and they better wear it in the winter or they will regret it.

yijung was a character with misplaced potential imo. he probably is more interesting just BECAUSE he’s played by beom but there were moments that i felt his and gaeul’s story should have been the main one, with or without the pottery teacher. like…yeah junpyo’s problems never compelled me in any way and gaeul was similar enough to jandi that the same arc could have been made with her instead. idk. maybe the other versions of bof do it all better 🤷🏻‍♀️

i love how there’s this split between the headcanon of aroace 2020!rang because he doesn’t reciprocate to yuri’s kiss and then the headcanon of playboy rang who had one night stands to fill the void. i don’t really know what version i prefer (at least in 2020—in 1938 i’m very happy about his romance) but i’ll read your fic, that might help!

One thing I definitely agree with you on - Yi-jung/Ga-eul deserved more screen time. They looked so perfect together. Whenever they weren’t on screen I hit the fast-forward button because I quickly grew tired of Jun-pyo and Jan-di and her ji-hoo is my soulmate but I love jun-pyo. But then, like I said, I’m not the target age group for BOF.

And yeah, another actor doing this role wouldn’t have interested me this much. Beom’s dimples did 90% of the trick ❤️❤️

In my view, playboy!Rang would suit 2020!Rang, assuming season 2 didn’t happen and season 1 ended at episode 15 - I would’ve been fine with that - never cared about season 1 Yeon and the lesser I talk about Ji-ah, the better (everyone who has interacted with me knows how ardently I hate that character). Getting a man like Rang with a wounded past to warm up to a woman he considers just a night’s playmate would be interesting…

BTW, I felt 2020!Rang’s non-reaction to Yu-ri’s kiss on his cheek was not because he’s aroace, but because he just doesn’t think of her like that. She is his ward, someone he rescued just like Soo-oh, someone he wants to protect. Yeah, a man and a woman can just be friends and that’s what they are (though Id have loved it if they were developed into a couple)

And… I simply refuse to believe 2020!Rang to be a virgin. 1938, yes, but not this charmer with a devilish smirk 😏

Also, a little off topic - have you watched The woman who still wants to marry? Beom is absolutely swoon-worthy in that!

Avatar Anakin AU

More Anakin posts but Anakin is my fav SW character so sue me. And I have had a renewed interest in ATLA.

I got this idea after wondering if Anakin would have been happier as the avatar instead of the Jedi's Chosen One. I think he would btw.

AU Context

First Avatar - Inspired by the Avatar Wan story. Back in the old times, the wall between the spirit and physical world was thinner. I imagine that an ancient, all powerful spirit conceived a child which resulted in the first avatar named Anakin. This avatar ended the war between spirits and sentients. Also, continued to keep balance among the nations.

Characteristics of the Avatar - Each avatar is male with blue eyes and/or blonde hair like the original avatar. Their names begin with the prefix "An" as well.

Teachers of the Avatar - Similar to Zuko and Aang, I imagine the teachers of the avatar being related to a former past life.

Parents of the Avatar - The parents of the avatar are descendants of a former past life. So if an avatar had 3 waterbending kids, the next waterbending avatar could come from one of those lines or the lineage of another avatar. If one does not exist (rare), then a new family is created.

It seems a bit nepotistic but that is the background of my idea. I wanted the avatars to look similar to each other. I had some ideas for counterparts for Aang and Korra.

Aang == Anakin Skywalker

In this scenario, Shmi could still be a slave or maybe just a downtrodden woman. To give her son a better life, she leaves him at one of the air temples when he is young. Maybe she could be dying from illness or starvation. Kenobi could be the Gyatso in this AU but he has a healthier relationship with Anakin (no attachment issues for my baby here!).

Like Aang, Anakin is a prodigy among his peers and runs away when the council threatens to send him to another temple.

Anakin could be 15 and Padme 17. Padme would be Katara, and maybe Sola could be Sokka. I like the idea that maybe Sola would feel insecure over Padme's successes.

As for the fire nation, the Sozin of the story could be the descendant of one the fire nation avatars who married into royalty. And we would have a Zuko type character who needs to redeem his/her lineage. He/she would be the firebending teacher. No idea about the earthbending teacher.

In the end, Anakin and Padme get married (with less noncon kissing and Padme having more agency unlike **cough*Kataang*cough***). They have the twins, but they have a daughter who looks like Anakin and then a son who looks like Padme. Happy family :)

Korra == Anikov

Not much here besides him having dark hair like Korra and blue eyes. His father is the avatar descendent. Kind of based the father after Tonraq since the dude is a good father and fighter. Not a big fan of LOK so lack of inspiration from there.

I come up with so many detailed ideas but I just don't have it in me to write them. I literally have multichapter fics floating in my head but it's too much. Anyway, I think Anakin would be a good avatar and he would be able to have a family without criticism which is a bonus.

I've seen Voyage of the Damned twice in the last few weeks (once with Ari and once alone) and funnily enough I feel I'm kind of two minds on it and wanted to further blabber about Doctor Who things so

on one hand I think the special is probably the weakest of the era. it has this almost dour feeling throughout given that basically all of the side characters - most of whom are entertaining but really one note and bland otherwise - get fucking killed throughout the episode lmao. the plot feels really thin in that the entire story is "a CEO guy is so mad that his company failed and shareholders bailed that he's sabotaging them by killing thousands on the ship and potentially 6+ million on the planet below which is the earth btw". it's a really simple story that's kinda written as simple as it sounds and the entire hour feels more flash than substance

Astrid in particular is maybe the worst companion - as temporary as she is - in the era thanks to how aggressively one note and boring she is. she wants to see the stars and is just another blonde woman the Doctor ends up kissing twice for no real reason, especially given their chemistry did not really exist (tho Tennant sells that shit as hard as he can all the same - a true pro). like going from the end of series 3 where the Doctor may finally have overcome his romantic grief in relation to Rose thanks to Martha's wakeup call into an hour where the Doctor makes out with another random girl who has no screen presence or connection with him is a huge misstep imo and whatever attempt at romance they tried here actively takes away from the episode. it felt mandatory and not like some natural thing that came about throughout the course of the episode. really forced and very annoying

and on the whole it just isn't very strong. it doesn't really leave much of an impression bc the setting of a ship's interior is largely bland, the plot is fairly barebones and even the "alien" designs are. basically just humans? I really didn't get this, like makeup can be tough and I understand not wanting to do it for a huge cast like is featured early on but. why are they all just humans. there's nothing really said or done to make them stand out from humanity but they're not meant to be humans but they're just. humans. except for Bannakaffalatta

but on the other I actually think it carries a somewhat darker depth similar to the depth found in runaway bride and christmas invasion even - there's an underlying current that ties into the ongoing themes around the 10th Doctor and it becomes really apparent at the end where he's outright told that it's not up to him who lives and who dies and I really loved that exchange between him and the uh faux Earth expert guy it's probably the highlight of the special and really sets the stage for what comes in series 4 and the specials that follow

I also think it's the best the show has looked to this point where it still has that visual charm but isn't too blurry or unfocused. the effects are largely solid and the music has reached that masterpiece level it'll stay at through at least the rest of the era with bombastic themes well mixed with those softer melodies. the writing is also largely fine as is sort of typical of RTD by this stage - the dialogue is snappy and fun even if it lacks in some areas and is a bit too simple in others. they've been good at this for a while now but this is where they're firing greatness on all cylinders

there's some other odds and ends that I both love and hate. I think the TARDIS once again being rendered useless is annoying if only because I think having it could have made the story more interesting - ala Runaway Bride - while I really enjoyed the married couple every time they were on screen. Alonzo is a fun character and his side of the story is probably the best but I also find it really funny how he just stands around with a bullet (from a fucking revolver btw. a HUMAN GUN. hello.) inside of him the entire time and that he survives all of this and presumably goes on to bang Captain Jack at least once

anyway it's a really mixed bag and ultimately really middling I feel even if that just makes it fine at worst really (the power of RTD tbh). weakest holiday special for sure - it doesn't feel like a christmas special at all btw lmao - and going from Last of the Time Lords into this could almost make it seem as if the quality of the writing is decaying and I could see myself being concerned of just such a situation if this were my first time seeing all of this, or if I'd watched these come out in real time way back when

but thankfully as we all know that's not true - for, next episode, Donna's back and we hit the peak of the mountain

You woke up to your phone ringing. You recognized the ring tone and picked up your phone immediately.

“Hello,” you said, voice still quiet and weak from sleep. Leon threw his arm around your waist, pulling you closer in the cold of the bed. You let him, finding warmth in his body heat.

“Glad you picked up. I need your help,” Chris said on the other line.

“Just me?” “When have I ever needed just you. Of course I mean both of you. I sent you the address.” He hung up the phone. You rolled your eyes and put your head back down on the pillow for a moment.

“Did he say what he wanted?” Leon asked. You shook your head.

“I guess we’re going to have to find out,” you muttered sleepily.

“If only Chris was concise and straightforward like he used to be.” ===

You and Leon walked into the base that Chris had sent you the address too. You had taken the liberty to bring your own handguns, along with your signature weapon as well. Leon brushed his hair out of his face as he yawned. You saw Chris in all black, looking like he had just gotten out of a big fight.

“Thank you both for coming so fast.” You nodded sleepily.

“Who do we need to fight?”

“Oh. No one.” Leon scoffed.

“What?” Chris pursed his lips and thought about how to tell you what had just happened. You and Leon had been working apart from him and the BSAA for a while now but you kept in touch for the broad strokes. You knew about the Mother Miranda problem but not anything detailed about it.

“Mother Miranda and her village have been blown to shit,” Chris said.

“Without us?” you joked weakly, too tired to land a perfect comical hit. Chris looked a little heavier than usual. You weren’t sure what had gone on but clearly it had taken an emotional toll on him.

“Ethan Winters was killed.” Your eyes went wide. You had only met Ethan once but he had been a tough son of a bitch. The Baker house was a whole different problem then what you were used to. You were surprised anything could take him out. “He was protecting his wife Mia and their daughter Rosemary. He made me promise to take care of them.” He gave you and Leon a look.

“You called us in at 4 in the morning because you need parenting advice from people who aren’t parents?” you asked. Chris blew a sharp breath through his nose.

“I need help navigating this situation. You two are my most trusted advisors.”

“You called us in to parent the kid,” Leon said.

“I called you in to help me parent the kid.” You nodded, rolling your eyes.

“Well we’re already here. We may as well meet little Rose.”

Chris nodded once.

“Thank you.” He led you and Leon through the base to a small room. You could see a woman and baby through the small door window. The woman, Mia you guessed, looked exhausted. She held onto the baby for dear life. She stood up as Chris walked through, her eyes still stained with tears. She had just lost her husband. You weren’t sure what you would do if you lost yours.

“Mia this is Leon and Y/N Kennedy. I’ve known them for years and would trust them with my life. I want them to help with Rose.” Mia swallowed hard, looking down at her baby.

“Are you parents?”

“No,” you said gently. “But we want to help.”

You and Leon visited Rose every month, sometimes twice a month. You made sure she was doing alright and made sure Chris wasn’t putting her through too much. He wasn’t made to be a parent. Maybe once upon a time, before Umbrella put their mark on him, he could have been a wonderful dad. But right now he was more focused on the mission and what Rose could bring to the table.

You and Leon helped Mia where you could.

You took a sip of water and kept writing out the report on your computer. Leon was sitting beside you on the couch, flipping through a book he wasn’t actually reading.

“You know we could watch a movie,” he suggested.

“I have to work Kennedy.”

“You’ve been working enough for the both of us,” he commented. You gave him a look and he gave you one back. You were about to say something else when there was a knock on the door. He hoisted himself up and walked over.

Rose stood on the other side, baseball cap over her head, leaning against the doors.

“Why do I need to protect myself when I have you, Leon and Chris? Plus, my mom tried to kill my dad and she pretty much succeeded. Pure rage is in my blood.” You and Leon met each other's eyes.

“Why don’t we teach you some stuff?” he asked.

“Can we get Taco Bell afterwards?”

“It wouldn’t be a fight without Taco Bell afterwards,” Leon promised. She stood up.

“This is why you guys are better than Chris.”

“Give Chris a break, he’s got a lot on his plate. Leon, do you still have the flame thrower Ada gave you?”

“Flame thrower? Nah, you two are the best.”

Princess Weiyoung: Episode 1

notes: Spoilers! A collaborative effort- I watch the first ep and give my predictions and the incomparable @tomorrowsdrama will rate my accuracy. Thanks for the idea, @andoqin

Before I get to the characters I have to say it: What is up with the costumes in this? They are some of the worst I have ever seen in a drama and that's coming from me. I am seeing a lot of shiny polyester in here, a lot of glued-on decoration and a lot of, uh, leeway with the time period by which I assume there was an intended time period and this is not just a made up fantasy world.

Characters in order of their appearance onscreen:

Count von Dad: Dad is awaiting the birth of his baby as he paces in the snowy courtyard. Btw, what about mom? Did she die? Anyway, dad is banished (perhaps to the Carpathian mountains from whence he came), but he comes back to town for Nana's birthday and then all hell breaks loose. predicted fate: will be seen as a hazy fond memory in numerous teary-eyed flashbacks status: ded

Nana: Only here to give Princess Weiyoung a jade token that will probably prove her identity 20 episodes or so down the line. predicted fate: never to be seen again after this episode status: ded (I was right, lol)

Princess Weiyoung (I presume): Ugh. A lovable scamp of a lass, cavorting around with Zhou Zishu's moustache. Insufferable. She must be the female lead. predicted fate: given her near complete inability to escape danger without ample hands to cover her shriek hole (despite the fact that numerous relatives implore her with their dying breaths to just run away), I think it's safe to say she will be her own worst enemy for the entire run of this drama. But- she will suddenly exhibit skills without warning (or discernable education) such as advanced military tactics, or ambassador-level statecraft. All men within range will fall in love with her but she will only have eyes for Male Lead. They will both survive the drama. See Male Lead below for further predictions.

Stepmom? Mom? Auntie?: Who hot-glued a doily to this woman's chest? I think she's the one who wants the jade token- and tbh it matches her outfit. predicted fate: schemin' and dreamin' until episode 45ish when she will kill herself in service to said schemes

Evil or Just Handy Stepsister: Are we setting her up to be a nemesis or just a flat stanley so stepmom has someone to spout exposition to? predicted fate: Covets the Male Lead but marries whomever mom picks out for her. Survives all 54 episodes.

Male Lead: I did not catch his name, sorry. He carries his own silver chopsticks, has excellent martial arts, and clocks the female lead immediately. He makes sure to flirt a little and then leaves. We see him later in the episode when he gets into a shouting match with Prince Braids whom he appears to be related to. predicted fate: love is fated, but first we have to have a bunch of misunderstandings, mistaken identities and someone should definitely fall off a cliff and disappear for a few episodes somewhere along the way. We should also side trip to at least one exotic locale so we can have a romantic montage. Also we should must have at least one "I thought you were dead" moment. Both the ML and FL have good martial arts so maybe we'll be spared the "falling off a wall and into your arms" cliché. Of course Princess Weiyoung and ML will end up together. But will we get a kiss? I say yes. A wedding? I say also yes. A kid? I say no.

JIN HAN!!!: OH HELL YES! I had no idea he was in this!!! I am a 1000% on board for this hammy ott evil general thing he has going on. He's been onscreen for all of ten seconds and he's already flicked his cape, jumped on his horse, soliloquized to his sword and inspired his army of at least 30 guys to yell "KILL!" predicted fate: out in a blaze of glory, episode 52

Lord Li: Generically evil, what a snooze predicted fate: We're stuck with this guy, I can feel it. Very unappealing. I think he’s Stepmom’s son; strong Oedipus complex vibes. Probably falls in love with Princess Weiyoung. Dead in the last episode

Prince Braids: Oh my goodness. oh, wow. just.... huh. This guy's hair makes me so uncomfortable. It looks uncomfortable for him too. predicted fate: we need him for constant conflict with Male Lead. Also falls in love with Princess Weiyoung. Killed by Male Lead in episode 45

Not-Seen-But-Implied Emperor: Probably will not listen to honest officials and gets himself deposed. New emperor will become the new enemy. predicted fate: old emperor killed in episode 20; new emperor killed in second to last episode after being stabbed, but still has enough life in him for three minute speech wherein he recognizes that Princess Weiyoung is the architect of his downfall.

"Don't do anything stupid until I get back."

This was Steve's goodbye, a goodbye he knew he needed. The smile on his best friend's lips, as sad as it was reassured him that he will be alright here. He has Sam, he has the rest of the people still here for him if the need ever arises.

"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you."

All of his life, this was the man that had been with him. Until the end of the line. Yet, this was the moment that he knew he couldn't be with him anymore. Steve had known far too late now that his time here in the future wasn't really meant to be. As he had hugged his best friend one last time, he had hoped and prayed that everything will be alright for him and for everyone he was now to leave behind.

"I'm gonna miss you, Buddy."

"It's gonna be okay, Buck." With the final reassurance towards his best friend, he had made his way to the time machine.

With the stone and Thor's hammer in his possession, he had put on the suit and waited for the time to be right. Facing the friends he had made here, to Bucky that he will know would fight for a better future for himself and for the world they were not bound to live in.

"Ready, Cap?" Bruce inquired and with a subtle nod, he took one last look at his friends before the countdown pulled him into the Quantum and towards the present he knew he had always wanted for himself.

Bucky had known this was a goodbye to his best friend. He had come to accept it. Five seconds was long enough for him to come to terms with his best friend's choice of staying. Five second of realizing that the panic in the voices of Bruce and Sam were unnecessary.

Turning his gaze towards the dock, a familiar yet unfamiliar form waited. Before he had come to acknowledge his presence, the sound of the time machine came into full force and instead of Steve, someone else far too familiar came, suited in Steve's Quantum suit.

"Bucky?"

And his world comes caving in on him as he turned back to the owner of the voice. The familiar melody of her voice was one of the few reasons that kept him sane in this maddening world. The memories he would often remember when nightmares come knocking on his door.

"Bucky, who is she?" Sam inquired, confusion lingered on his tone.

"My girl." Bucky answered catching her she throws herself at him. "My only girl."

Y/N. The woman he had promised a family with when the war was over. The woman that he never got to keep his promised from.

She was perfect, she was still perfect even when the years were not kind to him. In his favorite dress of hers, she was a ray of sunshine in the polka dot yellow sundress. A common staple during their dates. The dress she had worn when he had promised to marry her as soon as the war was over.

"I thought you were dead." The first line of tears broke from her eyes and he could only wipe away the tears. "I never forgot about you Bucky. I always knew you were alive."

He knew. He had been at her funeral decades ago. With no husband and no children, to have known even in her death that she had waited for him. Finally she was back, in his arms again, like it was always meant to be.

"I'm home." he whispered turning his attention back to the man by the docks. Ironic that Steve was now the wingman between the two of them. "My girl, I'm home now." he whispered finally pulling her into a kiss.

All the bad things he was certain would come in this new life, he was now prepared, accepted it even. For as long as he had her. The world wasn't as bleak and unforgiving for someone like him anymore.

"I love you, Bucky." she pulled away hands resting on his shoulders. Never once did he said the confusion or fear the feeling of the metal arm.

"I love you too, Y/N."

Btw, I find it interesting how it’s implied that M*lina sleeping together is meant to be seen as a “wedding”night by LB since they’re fading the Darkling the next day.You also have M*l talking about wanting to give her a wedding she deserves which tire into the very patriarchal puritanical views of sex and marriage. There’s also the servants ok Keramzin dissaproving of Alina wearing her hair down because she’s meant to be a married woman now.In contrast Aleksander always talks about them ruling together and being equals and Alina is also afraid that he’ll turn her into a monster(which in Western media for female villains means transgressing the boundaries set by the patriarchal society) and the fact that they’re pretty much the only couple that sleep together when you take into account the way it’s framed is really something.I usually don’t speculate over authors and why they wrote certain things this or that they ay unless I’m doing critical analysis but I feel like LB really has some issues with power especially female one.

See I haven't gotten to that part in the books so I can't comment on it too much but I did see an extract of that scene with M*lina and the thing that I found... worrying I guess would be the word for it was that LB writes Alina as being very insecure about the way she looks right before. This is the extract:

But when he slid the fabric of my blouse from my arms, I stiffened, feeling suddenly, painfully aware of every wrong thing about me. Jutting bones, too-small breasts, skin pale and dry as an onion. Then he cupped my cheek, his thumb tracing my lip. “You are all I’ve ever wanted,” he said. “You are the whole of my heart.”

I can understand that sometimes a person might be insecure for their first time but the fact that she is so worried about her looks is a problem for me especially because it is something that she worries about alot in the books when it comes to M*l and I am sorry but if she feels that insecure then its because M*l hasn’t done enough to prove to her that he does think she is beautiful and wanted by him. Also the line 'you are all I have ever wanted' really irked me because its just a straight up lie. By his own admission he only noticed her when she was taken away from him. When they were in the First Army together he wanted ever other girl but her so that line just didn't seem that genuine to me and more like something someone just says in the moment.

Now compare that scene with darklina's winter fete kiss:

A giddy laugh escaped me as we slipped inside an empty room lit only by the moonlight pouring in through the windows. I barely had time to register that it was the sitting room where I had once been brought to meet the Queen, because as soon as the door closed, he was kissing me and I could think of nothing else. I’d been kissed before, drunken mistakes, awkward fumblings. This was nothing like that. It was sure and powerful and like my whole body had just come awake. I could feel my pounding heart, the press of silk against my skin, the strength of his arms around me, one hand buried deep in my hair, the other at my back, pulling me closer. The moment his lips met mine, the connection between us opened and I felt his power flood through me. I could feel how much he wanted me – but behind that desire, I could feel something else, something that felt like anger.

Here she doesn't have any insecurities about her looks at all she is giddy and happy and seems pretty comfortable. There is a moment where she feels a trill of panic when she feels his hand on her bare thigh but she pulls him closer, so to be honest I think that was your normal first time nerves. With Aleks she feels wanted and desirable and yet despite the difference between these two scenes I am suppose to ship M*lina? Also I'd like to point out that after she feel his anger along with his want and she questions him about it he takes the time to reassure her that he does want her and he is angry that wanting her so much has lead to him not being in the war room organises for the trip to get the stag. He makes it clear that its not her he's angry with.

I have always thought that darklina treat each other more as equals than M*lina does I just will never get behind that ship and to be honest I think sadly a small part of me will always be bitter about the ending Alina got. I do think you are right and that a lot of female characters in the books are denied real positions of power and there's this narrative that if they do seek power then they are bad or greedy or selfish.

Why do I ship SNS?

It is a known fact that when people experience a good media, they like to discuss various things they liked, hated, interpret what the creator trying to say and get something from what they have consumed. Eventually people end up in a shipping war if there are multiple possibilities.

I started watching Naruto on a whim, hoping to see some ninjas in action with some revenge as a background (after all when you have power, there will always be a revenge). Am a sucker for revenge, btw. I am a person who hates romance in media. Because, every movie, book, novel, series has this same recycled romance plastered into every story even though the story don’t need at all. So, I am very tired of it. Every media portrays romance as something inevitable, necessary and something we can’t live without. That’s wrong.

Usually, romance goes like this... Person A sees Person B... they hate each other and add some possessiveness, jealousy... they magically gets attracted through some shared experiences eventually... they kiss and make babies. There’s nothing wrong with this. It’s just very tiring as I’ve seen million forms of this same repeated trope. I always cringe and yell “Can you give us something different? Grrr.....”.

And also, my motto is that love can happen with any person. It can’t be restrained into certain boundaries. So, I don’t like to put some relationship under an umbrella called Gay, Lesbian, Straight or whatever. Of course, illicit relationships and incest are not normal and am not okay with it.

With all that being said...

My experience after watching the Shippuden series until episode 478 was “Wait, do they love each other?”. I know am very late to realize this, but I have never even viewed them with any romantic lens throughout.

On my first watch, I was always under the impression that “They are friends”... But there are certain moments I felt “Wait, why are they doing like this which could’ve been handled in a different way!!” I will get to this later in this post. But those moments were overlooked by me because of my curiosity of “What happens next ??”.

And on my rewatch, it only confirmed my view.

The other popular ships like SS and NH put forth many points to invalidate what SNS represents. The most common being “They are reincarnated brothers” or “They are best friends”. Am just going to debunk them from my point of view.

Naruto and Sasuke are like brothers.....

Nope.

The best brotherhood title, in this series, should officially go to Itachi and Sasuke.

You can argue as much as you want that Itachi mindfucked Sasuke and killed his parents....yaada yaada....

It is repeatedly shown why Itachi put a curtain on his own clan. The reason is, Uchiha clan decided to forcefully take over the village. No matter how much innocent you are, you cannot take over something with force. Dot. I will write about this in a separate post.

In short, Sasuke realised how his clan members were wrong after hearing the story from the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. That’s why he openly proclaimed “I am going to protect Konoha and become Hokage”.

Back to the topic, Itachi and Sasuke are blood brothers. If I ship them both, then what you claim is very valid.

The above gif says, “Sasuke, I know, I made a mistake by filling you with hatred. But whatever you decide to do from now on, I will love you always”. Meaning, He stopped treating Sasuke as a kid and accepts that Sasuke has his own path to walk.

This is exactly how brothers behave. I would do the same to my kid sister. You can see a fraternal instinct from Itachi’s eyes realizing that this is their last time together.

Another thing, Brothers trope always has this hierarchy.... Protect the younger sibling no matter what. It is evident from Madara/Izuna and Hashirama/Tobirama.

Not convinced?

If you pull the Indra and Ashura bullshit, let me tell you one thing. Indra and Ashura were separated and formed their own clan long ago. They eventually branched off into Uchiha and Senju clans. No way you can relate a century old blood relation as brothers. It’s just their chakra got reincarnated over and over.

Don’t pull up an incest angle between Naruto and Sasuke. Because they never shared a womb. Dot.

Naruto and Sasuke are Best Friends only.

You know what, you are almost right. I thought that for a very long time. Remember I never wore any shipping goggles ON.

There are two types of best friend categories. Best Friends without a reason and Best Friends through rivalry.

Best Friends without a reason in Narutoverse are: Shikamaru/Choji.

They just became friends and became BFF. They won’t fight or hurt each other. But when you have something to share...you would go to that person and share everything honestly.

Best Friends through Rivalry: Kakashi/Obito, Hashirama/Madara, Naruto/Sasuke

I really cannot provide more proof for the first two pairings as Best Friends as it is not the scope of this post. Although the latter two also qualifies for shipping category. Why?

Because, the common thing among them is that all the three Uchihas awakened/reawakened their Sharingan for their best friend. But Hashirama/Madara and Naruto/Sasuke are the only pairings to awaken or evolve Sharingan when trying to break their bonds with each other.

Special Brownie points for Madara. He had 4 brothers and lost 3 but still couldn’t awaken his Sharingan but when trying to break up with Hashirama, his eyes were brimming red.

Sasuke’s Sharingan matures in the first Valley of The End.

That’s why I excluded Hashirama/Madara and Naruto/Sasuke from this Best Friends list.

Because to the both Uchihas, the other person meant something special which cannot be comprehended into a mere term called ‘Best Friends’.

Which is exactly why Kakashi/Obito would perfectly fall into this category.

The way they quarrel, fight with each other, protect each other are perfect scores for a friendship. What makes them best friends is when Obito decided to give his Sharingan despite Kakashi was always putting a cold air around him and most importantly asked him to protect his love ‘Rin’. Also Kakashi carried his friend’s will to his heart and passed on to Team 7.

It all falls under ‘In the memory of my Best Friend’ trope.

Obito may be a trash but he is a good friend. Because after Rin was killed, he massacred everyone around him except for Kakashi. He could have killed him. Understandable. Or he could have plucked his Sharingan back (because he literally plucked most of the Sharingans from the Uchiha clan massacre and kept those eyes as a reserve). This could have enabled him to use Susanoo. I believe Susanoo can only be used with Mangekyo Sharingan in both eyes. But for some reason, he didn’t.

So what makes me think Naruto and Sasuke love each other, not as a brother and not as a friend but something beyond which I can’t term?

My way of shipping is not about marriage, sex and rearing babies. Because literally everyone does this as an obligation.

So, I don’t ship them in terms of living together in my headcanon and having sex daily. Nope. But it is not wrong though if you ship in that sense.

In this Narutoverse, Women are just some stow away pieces whose sole existence is to fawn over their dreamboy and cry for them. (Usually literally nothing useful comes out of them). Me being a girl, as much as I hate this setup but I have come to terms with whatever it is and have accepted it. If you are a girl looking for a strong female character...... this is not the place. Watch something else.

But I draw inspiration from male characters who are characterized deeply for which I have to applaud the creator. Reason being, the very first character which I connected with was Itachi. It was when Sasuke thinks about his past with his family in the flashback before the first VotE battle in part I. I will be writing a separate post about Itachi in this week.

In short, If you are a person who wants inspiration, draw it from male characters. Not in a single moment, you stoop so low for characters like Hinata and Sakura. That’s not how I envision myself or any woman. Dot.

With all this being said, I ship them as a couple who necessarily don’t have to get married or have sex... But they each other has some special allowance towards each other in their hearts which no one can touch, not even their wives or children.

This doesn’t mean I accept what came after episode 478 as they are literally something they made for $$$$$.

There are some basic traits which are absolutely necessary for a ship to sail successfully. They are Acknowledgement, Reason, No Hierarchy, Influence, Owning each others rights and Privilege. (All these reasons should come from both the sides for the ship to be worthy)

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Acknowledgement, I mean here, is to accept and acknowledge what they are to each other.

They both agree that they are Bonded/Friends verbally as well as emotionally.

To me, this is essential in any relationship especially for the ones you are trying to ship. I didn’t see this in any other ships like SS or NH where it is always one sided. Sakura confessed before the village entrance to which Sasuke said “You really are annoying!!”. Hinata proposed in Pain arc. Naruto didn’t even acknowledge her confession. He went on to beg for pardon for Sasuke. Again she proposed in the War at the expense of Love Cupid “Neji”. Naruto went on to joke with Minato that Sakura is his Girl Friend.

If I were in both of these girls place, I would literally be mad and drop this shit right away.

Wheras in SNS, I saw both the people I am trying to ship were asking “What am I to you?”, to which they reply “You are my friend”. To me this is very important.

Reason

To those who are saying “Love is blind”, “Love is Madness”, “Love needs no reason”, you all need self-evaluation. This is not some K Drama situation where you don’t need any reason. You should know why you love someone and why you need the other’s presence.

Naruto’s reason is very simple.

I could provide many reasons. But here, Sasuke, without any reservations... knowing full well of the consequence if he feed Naruto but still extended the helping hand to someone who was always hostile. It is just like what Iruka did. And many incidents which happened during Land of the Waves arc are evident.

He wanted to be friends with this lonely Uchiha boy way back when he was around 7 or 8 for a simple reason that he understands his pain more than anyone. But he really became friends when they were grouped together for Team 7.

Sasuke’s reason goes even way beyond when Naruto series started.

“Because he felt relief”.

Imagine a young boy who witnessed a massacre before his eyes and lost everyone he loved. But somehow another young boy of his age made him feel relieved. This explains why Sasuke went all out of his way to make friendship with Naruto despite being aloof.

Isn’t this what we want from someone we love?

Rather than being completely insensitive about an orphan life or just stalking from the distance and never offered any support, I would prefer someone who understands my pain from their heart and try to reach me. Sasuke reached out to him by offering the lunch and Naruto reached out to him by making him his rival and bug him.

NO HIERARCHY

This is pretty self-explanatory. Unlike blood brothers, there should be no hierarchy in a relationship I want to ship.

We saw Naruto yells at Sasuke many times absolutely for no reason, despite Sasuke bearing this cold attitude. Probably he is the only person who can call him by such variety of names.

Sasuke always calls him by his trademark ‘Usuratonkachi’. Sometimes he calls him fool just like everyone. But was never insulting or mean towards Naruto. Except for that time in the final battle, he made fun of his Shadow Clone jutsu citing his loneliness.

In short, be it a physical fight or verbal offense.... neither of them wilts like a flower. They equally give back.

The only other person who can verbally assault Sasuke is Karin and probably the only girl who never addresses him as “Sasuke-Kun”.

U-SU-RA-TON-KA-CHI..... Why do Sasuke spend such an effort to call someone with a 6 syllabic word, instead NA-RU-TO, a 3 syllabic word which is way more convenient to call?? I always wonder.

POSITIVE INFLUENCE

I don’t have to spell out anything here. There are many obvious examples but will try to keep it short.

Naruto became strong because of Sasuke. He trained hard for 3 years with Jiraiya , a month with Kakashi developing Rasen Shuriken and controlled Kurama’s power with Killer Bee. Except for Sage Mode jutsu everything he learnt was all for bringing Sasuke back.

In short, Sasuke is Naruto’s predominant strength.

Though Naruto was not the source of strength for Sasuke, but he brings out many vibrant emotions in Sasuke which he really needed for his traumatic mind otherwise he would always be that cold angry brooding doll without any emotions and I am sure Sasuke enjoys to banter with Naruto.

LOL!!! I don’t know why Sasuke feels competitve here. It’s pretty childish even for Sasuke.

Friendly tease :-) I think he also protected Sakura in this scene. He can also ask her the same, isn’t it? I mean as a friend.

The best one is yet to come

It’s incredibly hilarious to see how Sasuke pouts when he was with Naruto. Sakura!!!! You third wheeling joker :-D :-D

Throughout Shippuden, Sasuke never shows his emotions with anyone. He either looks very cold or angry.

Reminiscing his Team 7 days, for a split second.

Probably the only positive emotion is this, in all of the Shippuden. I mean not counting Episode 478.

I don’t think Sakura brought any kind emotions in Sasuke except annoyance when they were together in Team 7. Or Hinata too. These girls just moan “Sasuke-Kun”, “Naruto-Kun” but brings nothing to the table. Total wastrels!!!!!

OWNING EACH OTHER’S RIGHTS

This section is exactly where SNS moves on to a whole different level.

Sasuke wanted to inflict his pain over everyone who lives in peaceful Konoha for what it did to Itachi. (though I don’t really accept with Sasuke here since he never even bothered to question about his clan’s history, but what he was doing is understandable. Just like Naruto tells him).

But the context here is Sasuke is on a murder rampage. Starting from the Kage Summit, killing Danzo, unnecessarily hurting Karin and almost reached a point where he could not be stopped anymore. Then Ms.Annoying appears. She literally have no fucking clue what Sasuke is going through. So started to spout nonsense that she wanted to go with Sasuke-Kun with an ulterior motive to kill him without a strong resolve.

The interesting SS dynamics here is Sasuke asks Sakura “Do you know what I want?” and to which she gives a carefree-shitty-pathetic answer “I don’t care. I will do whatever you want”. Geez!!!

If I were Sasuke, I would think, “This person standing before me don’t even care about what I want but coming with an intent to kill me and not only that... she is a kunoichi from Konoha where I planned to inflict my pain by slaughtering them.. I better ram my Chidori and be done with it”... He doesn’t see her as his former Teammate. He just want to kill that person.

However, Kakashi deflects the attack and saves Ms.Useless.

( Me : I am a Sasuke fan through and through. But, Sakura..... You always says you will do this, do that.... But you never succeed at anything... Why is that? Why are you even continue being a ninja? No one asked you to kill Sasuke, you decided to. But why don’t you kill him. Probably you would’ve earned my begrudging respect... Pffft” ****sighs with a heavy second hand embarassment)

Anyways, Sasuke becomes an unstoppable maniac at this point because he was very irritated on seeing Kakashi and Sakura spouting some unreachable nonsense. So he started to attack Kakashi as he is even more irritated on seeing his Sharingan.

Again, Ms.Idiot wants to kill Sasuke when he is at his weakest point due to chakra exhaustion and that too from behind his back. (You!!! Gutless wrench). Sasuke sensed this and attempted to kill her again... (Naruto!!! You idiot. Why did you save her...)

However, Naruto appears and saves her. Naruto and Sasuke’s eyes meet each other.

But somehow Sasuke calmed down and hears out Naruto for what he has to say. He says, “Whatever you are doing until now, it’s understandable”.

Kakashi wanted to kill him and Sasuke got riled up and prepare his Chidori. Anyways, Naruto intervenes and they go to some meta physical plane and talks privately. And Naruto comes up with his idea and announces as below:

Me: Naruto!!!! Sweety..... Do you realize that you have a big dream of becoming a Hokage which you have been shouting from Day 1? But still you want to overthrow everything for that one person who is in unbearable pain. It’s alright. But you don’t want to go alone or send him alone. No Best friend would go this far. And to those Sakura shippers.... Why didn’t Sakura try to bear the burden? Why didn’t she come up with this Idea? Afterall, you spout nonsense like ‘Sakura saved Sasuke from Darkness, isn’t it?’ And, Naruto.... Who gave you the right to take his hatred and shoulder the burden? And what makes you think you are that only person to do it??? Sasuke, might have other special person in those 3 years. How can you decide on Sasuke’s behalf??? Aren’t you going overboard ?

The answer to all the above is simple, Naruto can risk anything for Sasuke. And he clearly knew that Sasuke’s only living bond is him.

And what happened next was almost unbelievable and for the first time I thought ‘What is it with these two guys?’.

Sasuke agrees with Naruto’s proposition to not destroy Konoha before fighting with Naruto.

Me: Sasuke!!!! You have every right to reject his proposition. Since, he was not in your life for the past 3 years, your side of bond with Naruto should have been cut-off long back, right? Sasuke??? Well, at this point he was just your former Team 7 member. You don’t need to honor your proposition. You can attack Konoha anytime. Why did you accept?

Also Me: Sweety!!! Why do you always question Naruto ‘Who am I to you’? Why do you need his opinion always? There is an annoying princess standing behind Naruto vying for your attention. And yet you didn’t even ask her this question at any time. But before Naruto, you completely calmed down from your rampage and willing to wait for what he has to say plus asking for his validation. After all you don’t care about anything, why just Naruto???

And the reason being, Naruto is still his closest bond which he couldn’t cut off despite trying very hard. After all, Many years ago, Sasuke was the one, who readily jumped in to protect Naruto knowing full well that it’s a trap. He was ready to throw away his revenge for this boy back then. Sasuke is afraid that he will give in to this bond once more and Naruto is his weakness which he wants to eliminate so badly.

This is definitely not any Best Friend would do..... Fix that in your mind.

The purpose of these GIFs is not show how protective Sasuke is..... Well, I can talk about it all day. Let’s save it.

Me: Yo!!!! Sasuke..... You wanted to kill Naruto.... You said so yourself under the bridge. Meaning, He is the only person standing between your goal and your resolve and Naruto is always known to weaken your resolve. And yet why are you protecting him here? There is absolutely no need. Because, if there is a situation like Kaguya where both of you are must needed to save this world , then there is a reason to save him. But why now? Plus do you know, if Naruto dies, then Madara’s plan may not succeed because if a Jinchuriki dies, tailed beast also dies. It is perfect for your Revolution, isn’t it? Who gave you the right to own his life? Obito has his reason to kill Naruto, why not let him?Why is it that you want to personally remove him from your life? If he is dead by an external factor, you can carry on your path without any interference and pain. Why go so far to protect him ?

The answer is Sasuke values Naruto’s life more than his own even during his Team 7 days. He has this high esteem for Naruto and almost consider it to be a shame if some worthless fool takes his life. And Sasuke never hated Naruto. He once hated Itachi and his resolve to kill was real and intense. But when Orochimaru asked him to kill 1000 people for practice, Sasuke never killed anyone. He even implemented no kill policy for his team “Hebi”. So, someone like Sasuke who never liked to kill random innocent people, how could he let some trash take away a life, he considers dearly to the same level of Itachi? That’s why in this situation, his body moved on his own to protect something special for him. He may not agree it, but he always shows it.

But some other ship wankers try to say Sasuke may have said “You are annoying” but inside he deeply loved her which is why he was smiling. If so, Why didn’t Sasuke never showed his care not even once? He not only tried to kill her twice when she was defenseless but also let her die twice or didn’t bother at all during the war. Or show me where these soul level connection happened between SS or NH

In short, Sasuke and Naruto own each other’s rights unconsciously. Because they are the only ones who can understand each other’s soul which nobody can reach.

Me: Oh, by the way Sasuke, I think Susanoo should be used like this. You really don’t need your hand to protect Naruto. Susanoo can do it’s work for you. Minato would be proud though!!!!

PRIVILEGE

Most of the points I written above are in and of itself is a privilege they give for each other and not for anyone else. Privilege is essential in a ship. Because it shows how different a loved one is from normal people.

For Naruto,

I originally want to put how he begs for forgiveness on Sasuke’s behalf before Raikage and weeps immeasurably before hyperventilating. But this one trumps the other. Naruto literally broadcasted everyone how important Sasuke is to him and how he regretted not offering his friendship at that time and how he couldn’t stop Sasuke from reaching Orochimaru.

If you want to inspire Alliance shinobi forces, you should have shown how you worked so hard from the bottom to top. Projecting Sasuke as your regret and inspiring people shows how deeply you prioritize this person which affects you after so many years and hence, you don’t want any more regrets.

It’s very unconventionally romantic which passes the shipping category in flying colours.

For Sasuke,

The following is the Land of the waves arc which was novelized in the name of Innocent Heart, Demonic Blood released in 2006. 99.9% of the material is exactly as it happens in Manga/Anime.

This is the privilege Sasuke provides for Naruto. “ But coming from Sasuke, It almost counted as a hug”...

BROWNIE POINTS:

Now, the following are the scenes which add a mysterious flavour to this ship. I sincerely don’t understand why Kishimoto put this. I mean I am absolutely happy with it, but why? What was he thinking while drawing these scenes?

It’s also strange that, whenever they clash a Chidori with Rasengan..... They always gets repelled to their own sides and fall with a loud thump. But Naruto’s posture looks very perfect, I mean it looks like someone carried him and laid him down. Anyways, What’s Sasuke doing on Naruto’s side?? He should have fell on the opposite side. Why didn’t he walk away? There is absolutely no reason for Sasuke to come over to Naruto’s side and have an intense meaningful gaze.

This is another mysterious plus intense scene. I am still wondering, Is this really Sasuke? He is a person who avoids casual touches with anyone other than his brother. I’ve seen so many times Sasuke rejecting hugs from Sakura. I can’t even imagine what Kishimoto was thinking.

If you people pass these scenes off as Brotherhood or Best Friend chemistry... Then you lack basic human emotions. That’s all.

Me: Well, Sasuke, If you really want to kill him, you should have shovelled your sword right through Naruto’s vital point when you made that exuberant landing. There is literally no need for you to draw a long sword in close quarters. And what about the Personal Space??? With your speed, you can land without leaning on Naruto’s shoulders...

Also Me: Yo, Naruto... You were panicking when Sai does the same....but you don’t even flinch when Sasuke invades your personal space????

Anyways, it’s funny that both the intense scenes I have mentioned here were initiated by Sasuke. Quite strange and thrilling.

So, to conclude.... All these scenes I have mentioned made me unconsciously ship them as a pair. With all these being said, I believe all the ingredients for a good romance were laid perfectly. A moment of impulsive tension or affection, say a hug, between them after a difficult battle could mess with both and make a romance happen. And I don’t think either of them will deny especially Sasuke.

I don’t see any of this aspect in other popular ships such as SS and NH. If I am Sakura or Hinata in this universe, I will not be okay with my pair doing all these things with other person. I intentionally left scenes from Episode 478 as it is so intense and require a separate post. I am happy that even without Episode 478, SNS ship sails high. So, I believe both Sakura and Hinata are still fourth wheeling their respective pairs in Boruto universe also, I guess.

DAO: Alistair

No matter how hard DA2 and DAI tries I DO NOT CARE!! This two are not separating no matter what -> they have so little time left together, I'm not going to send her away while he stays on Ferelden

They won't have an heir, the crown will go back to Anora once he dies

The oficial LI in my universe is Sebastian, but this game is the only Bioware game where there isn't a romance that really catches my attention to obsession level.

Things they like to do together: read, take long walks, cook, play chess (of course), take care of the garden... you just have to think of things a cute married old couple would do XD

It was love at first sight for both of them (and I never do this... I prefer feelings developing little by little...)

Mage situation in my universe:

Cassandra as divine

Reform of the circles

Control over the mages but not imprisoned

Some sort of merit system -> the longer you work for the circle, if you don't have incident, if you do extra work, etc -> you earn more freedom

Sybil spends a few years only being able to see Cullen at weekends, until she finally gets to go home after work every day

Fics: Way too many, I love this man with all my heart since I set eyes on him in the Ferelden circle with my first warden mage (yeah... this obsession has been here for A WHILE lol)

My inquisitor origin story -> Never got much attention from her family (because she was a woman and they wanted a man to inherit the title) only close to his uncle. Her parents cut ties with her when her powers showed for the first time, they only wrote her once to the circle to tell her the uncle died and that she should stop bothering them with letters for him.

DAI (filling voids and that kind of stuff) -> Sybil developing a lovely friendship with Dorian and Varric / She falling hard for Cullen and terrified he'll never feel something for her because she's a mage / Dorian convincing her to confess her feelings, even though he doesn't know who are they talking about / her family trying to reconnect now that she's important and she sending them to hell / a lot of additional fluff to complement the canon / and a lot of additional angst in trespasser (I mean, they are 100% sure she isn't gonna make it) / a more elaborated wedding scene / her family disowning her for marrying Cullen (and she's like: I'm not even bothered by it)

Fave fic: Dorian, Varric and Vivienne finding out she's in love with Cullen -> omg I love this one lol, the 3 of them are at Vivienne's balcony and they get to see Sybil fight with herself and hesitating (going back and forwards until she finally enters into his tower) and they see the whole declaration, Jim's interruption and their first kiss from there (and of course, they bet about the possible outcome while they are it ehehehe)

They adapting to their new life together in Ferelden

She getting along with his siblings (Not a problem except for the younger sister, but they end up being good friends at the end)

Cullen getting in touch with Dorian and Varric to give her a surprise in a time she's feeling down

Cullen works just to fill the time he's alone (they're like super rich after everything my inquisitor stole in DAI lol)... so he works in construction for almost nothing, helping rebuild what the war destroyed

They end up presenting an initiative in Ferelden to build villages near the circle for mages and their families (I'm still working in this one)

The two of them building their forever house together (aw my heart)

Sybil finding out her uncle isn't dead and meeting him again after almost 20 years

She meeting my warden and (without even telling she's the herald of Andraste) fully going into "thank you for saving the love of my life during the blight" mode.

My warden finding out who she is and fully going into "thank you for saving the grey wardens" mode.
