Working for Saw Gerrera was tough, there was no doubt. But, the sacrifices were worth it to keep the Empire at bay. Things got better though when a cute, red-headed jedi joined up. He was as powerful as the stories said, and you and Cal Kestis became quick friends among the chaos of the world around you.
It started by accident; you and Cal would come to each other for comfort and to offer support after missions, and things blossomed before you each realized it. The two of you would lay together for hours in the evenings, just embracing each other, and sometimes more. Neither of you knew what to call what you had, so you left it unspoken.
One particular night, you were in your quarters when Cal knocked on your door. When you opened it, he looked defeated, and bruises littered his face.
“Cal,” you breathed, “Come in,” you ushered in inside and closed the door, “What happened?”
Cal grunted as he settled himself in a chair and exhaled deeply, “Got ambushed,” he sighed as he closed his eyes, feeling safe for the first time that night, “We lost too many today.”
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, not knowing what else to say as you grabbed your med pack and dabbed some bacta patches on his face. When Cal winced in pain you furrowed your brows, “Sorry,” you repeated.
“Thanks,” he breathed your name as he gave you a soft look. It was always a relief to Cal to come back to you, even if neither of you expressed your true feelings in words. What started as something physical quickly grew to more for him, but he kept his mouth shut.
“I’m glad you’re here, Cal,” you said, “I don’t know where we would be if it weren’t for you.”
Cal looked at you with a pleading look in his eyes and a hint of a smile on his face, “Always happy to help,” his voice was low as he knew exactly what you meant. Having a jedi on your side sometimes made the difference between life and death, and he was a powerful ally to have.
But sometimes you worried that Cal did too much for everyone else, neglecting himself in the process. You let out a sigh as you placed the med kit to the side, “Let me take care of you, Cal,” your tone was hushed as you brushed a lock of hair off his brow, “You carry too much with you. Let me help you tonight.”
He groaned your name softly as you straddled his waist and ran your fingers along the tight muscles of his neck. You always had a way about your touch, and it made Cal melt under your hands every time. You made him feel safe, and he hoped you felt the same way about him.
You hummed softly as you watched Cal’s eyes flutter shut. You ran your fingers down the sides of his neck and squeezed the tense muscles in his shoulders. As you did so, you leaned forward and placed soft, light kisses on his forehead and temples. Cal’s hands rested on your hips as you slowly rocked them on his lap.
Cal moaned your name as he felt himself starting to harden underneath you.
“Shh,” you cooed as you continued to place feather-light kisses all over his face. Your hand stopped kneading his muscles as instead gently held onto his shoulders as you kissed your way to his lips. Once there, you took them with your own in a soft yet passionate kiss. He immediately parted his lips for you to deepen it, and in response you rocked your hips just a little bit faster.
As your tongue danced with Cal’s, you grazed your hands down his torso and slipped them underneath his shirt. He shuttered into you and you felt goosebumps erupt on his skin as you tickled him. Cal’s grip on you tightened as he felt your hands run back up his body and land on his chest. You gave his pecs a soft squeeze and savored the low moan that Cal let out.
Breaking away, you tugged his shirt up and off his shoulders, and Cal took the opportunity to do the same to you. But, before he could move, you crashed your lips into his once more. This kiss was still slow and soft, but the desperation was there still. You felt Cal’s hands slide up and down your sides as you rubbed his nipples with your thumbs. Your hips continued to rock and back and forth, teasing him as he hardened more and more underneath you.
“Babe,” he breathed as you broke the kiss and started to nibble your way down his neck, following the same path with your mouth that your fingers did before.
“I’ve got you, Cal,” you murmured against his skin as you gently sucked at a sensitive spot at the base of his neck, “Let me take care of you today,” you repeated your words from earlier, but this time in a lower tone.
“You always take care of me,” Cal whispered as he cradled the back of your head with one hand and wrapped his other arm around your waist.
“And I always will,” you moaned as you kissed your way back up and took his lips with yours once more.
His moan was stifled by your lips, but the way his cock twitched underneath you told you what he wanted to say. Breaking away once more, you lifted yourself up just enough to tug at his pants. Cal immediately got the hint and helped you yank them down before removing your own pants. When you settled back down, it was skin to skin, and it made both of you gasp.
Every time it felt like the first time with him. Every touch always felt electrical, like it jolted your heart awake from its slumber. Cal’s warm skin lit a fire under your own and when you bucked your hips against his length, it sent a wave of pleasure up your spine. Your mouth dropped open, but before you could let out any sound, it was his turn to capture your lips in a heated kiss.
As your lips locked, you lifted your hips just enough to position yourself over his cock. Cal fumbled around blindly as he helped you, teasing your entrance with his fingers for a moment as he did so. He laughed into you as you let out a little yelp of surprise at the feeling of his fingers against you.
“I’ve got you,” Call mirrored your words as he guided you back down on his cock.
Both of you gasped loudly as he slowly pushed into you. Inch by inch, you lowered yourself onto Cal’s lap, taking him in as you did so. There was no rush, you had all the time in the galaxy tonight. And you liked taking it slow with him, savoring every little feeling every inch of him. You grabbed onto his shoulder to steady yourself as your hips met his once more, only this time, Cal was deep inside you.
“You’re amazing,” he murmured as he kissed your eyebrow softly.
Your eyes fluttered open, and you hadn’t even realized you closed them. But the way Cal looked at you made your heart skip a beat. Without another word, you kissed him deeply, tangling your tongue with his as you lifted your hips just an inch or so and lowered back down again. Both of you groaned into each other as you repeated your action. Again and again, you rocked yourself against Cal, feeling the jolt of pleasure that shot up your spine as you took his entire length in.
Cal moaned your name as he wrapped his arms around you, running his hands along your back in a comforting motion. You leaned forward and rested your forehead against his and mirrored his actions. It was slow, yet full of emotions. Cal gently thrust his hips up to meet yours and soon you both found a rhythm together as you rode him.
“Cal…” you moaned as you felt the familiar tingle build up from deep within you.
“I know,” he grunted softly, “Me too.”
You sighed as your moans started to get louder from your approaching climax. And Cal’s matched yours as he sped up just slightly. The two of you clung to each other, only needing a few more thrusts for your peaks to hit one right after the after. You crashed your lips together as you came together, spilling yourselves against each other.
With one final exhale, you fell forward, but Cal caught you, wrapping you securely in his arms as you nestled yourself in the crook of his neck. His softening cock stayed inside you, but neither of you cared to move. You both were too comfortable, too content to even think about moving. Tomorrow would bring a new challenge- it always did- but for now, you and Cal could stay in comfortable quietness.

You carefully looked where you stepped. Everywhere nothing but green. Kashyyyk was the planet you were on to find a Wookiee chieftain named Tarfful. – “Keep up Y/n!” – Cal called out, turning briefly to you. – “Scared I’ll fall behind?” – you responded with mischief in your eyes. Cal shook his head childishly, mocking your ways. He puffed loud, turning back to the front. His eyes widened when his foot took a step forwards. In a split second wrapped a rope around his ankle, shooting him up in the air. BD-1 having jumped off his back. Cal was hanging upside down, waving his arms around.
You came closer, laughing your ass off. – “How’s it hanging?” – you asked lowering yourself with a tilt of your head to smile at him. Cal slowly swinging from side to side. – “Can you cut me down?” – he said irritated. You gave him a gentle poke in the chest, letting him swing a bit more, thinking. – “If you say pretty, please.” – you responded. – “Y/n!” – Cal groaned trying to pull his chest up with little success. – “I didn’t hear you say please.” – you made clear, holding your hand behind your ear. – “Can you for one second not be irritating?” – he already felt his blood lower to his head, making him dizzy.
Shrugging your shoulders, you straightened your posture again. – “Bye Cal.” – you waved him goodbye, taking your leave. Cal pressed his palms against his eyes, groaning. – “Okay, wait!” – he forced out, hand stretched out to you. Curling up a smile, you returned to him. – “Yes Cal.” – you asked keeping him still as you let yourself bend down to meet eyes with him.
“Can you please cut me down…” – he asked. BD deliberately not interfering with your bickering. – “Sure.” – you answered. Pulling out a knife, you cut down Cal. He dropped with a loud thud, groaning at the sudden pain in his back. He came sitting down, untying the rope from around his ankle. – “See that wasn’t that hard, was it?” – you said out loud. Cal’s face stood sour, BD approaching. The droid hopped onto his back before he got up. You took a few steps, pausing to look at Cal behind you.
“You might want to be careful; I hear there are boobytraps here.” – you teasingly exclaimed. Cal walked up to you, giving you a hard nudge. Making you nearly lose your balance. – “Very funny.” – you called out waiting to see his response, but there never came one. Following close by, you kept your eye out. You had been lucky to have not encountered any stormtroopers on your way. The war on Kashyyyk not being a pleasant one. Stepping up your pace, you took the lead. Taking a halt at a cliff. Cal coming to stand beside you.
Hands on his hip he took a deep breath. He spotted a vine not that far, pulling it closer with the use of the force. – “So you want to go first or would you rather have us swing cozy together?” – he wiggled with his eyebrows making you roll your eyes. Cal shrugged his shoulders, taking a few steps back. – “BD, hold on.” – he said over his shoulder, gripping on tight to the vine. He started running, setting himself off at the cliff to jump across. You watched as he swinged in perfect balance across, landing steady on his feet.
He turned around waiting for an applause. You clapped briefly for his ego with a sarcastic smile. He gestured to you to be ready to catch the vine. Pulling his arm back, he let it swing hard back. You caught it, grabbing around with your hands to be certain you’d have it. Cal motioned for you to come. Taking a deep breath, you took some uncertain steps back. Running up to the cliff, you squealed loud at the drop off. The vine swung halfway across the cliff when a blaster shot fired your way. It missed you, hitting the rocky wall.
Cal’s eyes widened, turning to where it came from. Up on another cliffy part, he noticed three stormtroopers. The sudden attack had startled you that much, you’d forgot to jump. Swinging above the deeps, slowing down with each swing. – “Cal!” – you called out in a panic, clamping onto the vine. He gasped loud, eyes wide with fear as you were a clear target now. You screamed, ducking a bit when blasters fired your way, missing you by a few hairs each time. Cal tensed his jaw, stretching his hand out upwards.
He felt the strong push of the force, but the stormtroopers were too far for him to do any good damage. His eyes stood grant when a shot went your way. He forced his hand forwards, hitting you with the force. The vine got swung hard back to avoid being hit. You called it out, swinging hard back. There wasn’t much he could do. He needed to think quickly to avoid any concerning troubles. – “Y/n!” – he shouted. – “Hang on and when I tell you to, you let go and leap forwards.”
“What?” – you panicked at how ridiculous dangerous that sounded. – “Just trust me.” – he said in return. You nodded shakily as Cal used his way to make the vine move. You got blasted back, making you swing back. Blasts firing above your head. You went one more back, till you swung strongly back. – “Now!” – Cal shouted running up to the edge. You let go, jumping as you blind fully trusted Cal. Cal held his arm out for you to catch. Your fingers brushing over his lower arm down to his hand in the hopes he’d catch you.
A blast fired Cal’s way making him flinch. You gasped loud, feeling your fingers brush against his, nothing afterwards. – “No!” – Cal screamed out; hand reached out down when he saw you fall. Your screams dying out down the pit you were falling. Cal got up, taking no second to dive headfirst after you. Hand stretched, wanting to reach for you. You had no idea what was below, eyes fixated on Cal who desperately tried to reach you. Light as a feather, you closed your eyes waiting for the worst. Then your back crashed against something hard, followed by wetness.
Cal fell down into the waters, reaching for your body under water. You felt an arm go around your body, being pulled to the surface. Cal and you gasped above water. – “You okay Y/n?” – he asked worriedly, one hand pressed against your wet cheek. You splashed water in his face, confusing him for a second. – “What were you thinking!” – you called out furious. – “What?” – Cal replied confused. – “Why’d you jump so recklessly after me!” – splashing more water at him, you were angry that he would do something that stupid.
“I don’t know! I just did!” – he shouted back, getting as equally worked up as you. – “You could’ve been killed!” – you called out, arms trembling from the raw emotion. – “So could you!” – Cal responded loudly, staring intensely at you. Both holding that fierce gaze even when BD beeped loud on Cal’s back. Cal and you puffed, looking away. The two of you swimming to a little green island. Cal shook his leg in an attempt to dry it faster. You squeezed the water out of your clothing. A deep sound came from the caves not far from the little island you were on.
It made you stumbled back against Cal. Cal holding you by the shoulders. – “Don’t tell me you are scared Y/n?” – he smirked, looking over your shoulder down to you. – “I am. Not.” – you confidently replied. Another sound made you shriek, clamping onto Cal. – “What was that Y/n?” – he laughed, all smug looking. You looked frightened around. – “It’s probably one of those spider creatures.” – he teased. Your eyes widened frantically, making you almost jump into his arms. Not wanting to be on the ground if it was. Cal laughing louder than ever at how needy you were. – “This isn’t funny Cal!” – you said rudely. – “You know I am deadly afraid of those things.”
“I know.” – he whispered in your ear, unable to hide the power it gave him. You pushed yourself off Cal, having a shudder go down your spine. – “It is probably nothing, Y/n.” – he reassured you. You weren’t so sure. Cal pointed at the caves as it was the only way away from this place. Swallowing nervously, you followed quietly. Darkness embraced you like a cloak when you entered the cave. BD turning his head lights on to light the way.
Cal extracting his saber as it gave a faint light, reflecting against his face. Looking over his shoulder, he made sure you were close by. BD bleeped curiously, his lights beaming off the walls. Venturing deeper into the gaping cave’s mouth. You reached out to Cal, startling him. – “It’s just me.” – you said nervously. He took a deep breath, taking your hand. Guiding it to his belt where he insisted on you taking a hold off. This way he’d know you were close. Cal lowered his lightsaber when he came at an open space. Light from above falling into the pit. BD’s light dimming.
The sunlight making you close your eyes for a second to adjust to it. Cal took a moment to observe. – “We can climb up right there.” – he pointed out. Not hearing you response, made him look down to his belt. Your hand wasn’t on it anymore, making him lift his head back up. – “Y/n?” – he said concerned, looking around. He found you standing not far from him, standing stiff. He walked up to you, tugging on your arm.
When you wouldn’t move, he knew something was wrong. BD bleeping warningly, making him look up. From a hole lighted up a few eyes. Cal gasped watching one of those spider creatures crawl out of it. His eyes widening, knowing how much you feared them. He pulled you behind him. – “BD! Stay with her!” – he ordered. The little droid jumping off his back. Cal readied his lightsaber with a twirl. He was about to launch forwards when he spotted another one coming. Soon three or four more came crawling out, making him back up.
BD jumping warningly in front of you to move. You backed away, falling over a rock. – “Get back!” – Cal called out, waving his lightsaber around. BD moving frantically in front of you daring one to even come near you, for he would protect you till his last bleep. Cal launched forwards, striking his lightsaber at one of the spider creatures. Needing to keep his eyes on the others as well. From the corner of his eye, he saw one make his way over to you. Cal spun around, pulling the creature back by the way of the force. Gritting his teeth, he let it drop near him, sticking his lightsaber through it. With three at a time where they hissing and tapping their front legs forwards to Cal. Your heart beating out of your chest, too scared to move. Cal rolled back to block one’s path to you.
He fought them fiercely knowing how much it meant to you. Ready to fight them off for you. He struck another one down as two more appeared through the crawling space. One running rapidly over to BD and you. Your eyes wide with fear. BD electrocuted it as it only stung a bit. Cal shot his hand out, forcing it to be dragged back. He gasped when something sticky wrapped around his hand.
The spider creatures fighting back. Moving his hand down, he started tearing it off. Two more spiders hissed their web his way. Making him drop his saber, hands bound together. Inhaling sharply was he now defenseless. They started surrounding him as he struggled to get free. Your eyes fixated on Cal, hearing him struggle. The urge to help him screaming louder inside of you. But what of those creatures you feared for so long. BD hopped on one foot, the other sticking to his body with a web.
Slowly your friends were endangering themselves. Taking frantic breaths, you needed to act now. Something snapped inside of you, seeing them tackle Cal to the ground. Jumping up, you screamed it out, blasting at them. Cal turning his head in surprise at you. You kept firing, screaming out your rage. The spider creatures got several hits. One lost it’s leg as another one had pus trailing down it’s body. You got closer to them, acting on adrenaline to save your friends then to give in to your fear.
One exploded making Cal roll away. They started backing away to the hole they came from. You wouldn’t let them escape, taking your revenge on them. One by one shooting them till they died or exploded. Out of breath, you lowered your blaster. Cal frantically freeing himself to get to you. Knees buckling, they gave in, letting you drop down. Cal rushed in front of you, taking you by the shoulder. – “Are you okay Y/n?” – he asked worriedly.
You let your hand rest against his cheek, catching your breath. Cal’s gaze moved rapidly over yours, taking a deep breath. – “You… you fought them Y/n… you actually fought them…” – he said half smiling. Touching your cheek he was very proud of you. – “Why? What made you overcome your fear?” – he asked. – “You…” – you responded. – “I couldn’t… I couldn’t watch losing you.” – you added, pulling yourself a bit up by his uniform.
Cal let his finger brush against your cheek, sucking in a deep breath. Leaning in as he pressed his lips onto yours. Moving his hands to your lower back, pressing you closer to him. You kissed him passionately back. BD bleeping made you pull away. Cal got up to retrieve his lightsaber. You smiling admiring at him. He noticed it, chuckling. – “Are you going to continue drooling over me Y/n? or are you actually going to be helpful?”
You gave him a roll of your eyes. You walked up to him, standing near him to look upwards. – “It’s a pretty high climb.” – you stated. Cal moved his hand around your back, pulling you towards him. – “I know.” – he whispered before stealing a kiss from you. You gave him a playful slap for being so silly. – “Lucky for you, I can get us up in no time.” – he answered walking up to the wall. You followed, pushing him back with your bottom against his front.
“I go first.” – you insisted. Cal smirking. – “Of course you are.” – he chuckled. You started the climb as Cal was right behind you. – “Eyes up Cal!” – you called out. – “Oh they are up.” – he replied mischievous. You looked down seeing him look up to you smiling. Rolling your eyes, you knew he was just enjoying the view. In no time were you back up to continue your search for Tarfful.

“Do you ever think this is wrong?”
You rolled over, cheek resting against his shoulder as you questioned, “This?”
His adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed, his head just barely moving into a nod before his eyes finally landed on you.
“Us,” he clarified, his eyes straying once again as he couldn’t bare to look you in the eye as he questioned everything you had.
It was silent for a moment as you allowed him to collect his thoughts. Then, he spoke again, “I mean- We’re both Jedi and the code… the code says this is wrong. ‘There is no emotion. There is peace. There is no passion, there is serenity.’”
With a sigh, you sat up. This was far too heavy a conversation for pillow talk. “The code said a lot of things, it doesn’t mean it was always right.”
“But what if we’re just playing into the hands of the dark side?”
You looked at Cal as he too sat up beside you, his brows tense as his thoughts ran rampant.
“What if the code was wrong? Nothing good can ever come from suppressing your feelings, trust me. What if it’s part of the reason the order fell? An absence of emotion only gives rise to the darkness, Cal.”
Your explanation was sound but he still wasn’t convinced. More than anything, he was still afraid of the darkness consuming him.
“I’m still having those dreams… The nightmares…”
You placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and admitted, “I know. You talk in your sleep sometimes but that’s not you, Cal. You’re stronger than that, you won’t become an inquisitor.”
He nodded as he let your words sink in but the code still rang through his mind, echoing through every corner.
“Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force.”
He hummed in question, brows furrowing once again as his eyes landed on you. Those were the words of the code but they were different, not as he’d ever heard them before.
“After the fall, I fled. I was in hiding for years but I never gave up on the Jedi, on everything I had been taught. I travelled in search of knowledge. That is how the code used to be, years ago. We were never supposed to ignore or suppress our feelings. To find true balance with the force you have to feel your emotions and learn how to navigate through them, both the good and the bad.”
He hummed again, finally allowing your words to break through. “Control. Balance is about finding control.”
“Yes. Us… We’re not wrong, Cal. As long as we are in control of our emotions, we won’t fall into darkness. Besides, how can this be bad? What we have is good. Love is always a good thing.”
With a smile, his head hit the pillow again and he welcomed you into his arms as you lay back down beside him. “I love you too, you know?”
You closed your eyes, thanking yourself for the moment of quiet before Cal would inevitably drag you back into trouble again. “I know.”
The order had fallen but, by learning from the past, the two of you would build it up again. You’d make it better, reembrace the old teachings but move forward. There was a long road ahead and an empire to topple, but together you’d see it through.

Chapter One: A new hope.
Summary: You grew up on Mandalore with your adoptive parent, you accepted the creed and lived the way as a Mandalorian as your buir taught you. Until the Great Purged happened that night you witnessed your entire home being destroyed, your buir laid down their life to save yours. You managed to get away from Mandalore and you wandered alone for a few years until you met Cere and Greez, Cere told you her plan about rebuilding the jedi order and taking down the empire. You wanted to avenge your family, your home so you agreed to help them. The last thing you expected was to fall for a jedi and follow him wherever he went.
Pairing: Cal Kestis X Mandalorian fem!reader. (I won’t be using Y/N as I will be mostly using you or she/her pronouns.)
Word count: 4.7k
Author notes: I’ve played through Jedi: The Fallen Order and wanted to write a series for it, hope you guys enjoy it! This series will follow the gameplay (with a few different dialogues so the whole reader fits in)
Warnings: violence, language, mentions of injuries.

You took the rag that was on the table and began to clean your blaster, you looked over at Greez who was currently cooking dinner for you and Cere. Greez would always cook whenever a big job was coming up, you assumed it was to calm his nerves about going headfirst into a fight with the empire. You couldn’t blame him though the empire has destroyed everything they deemed a threat to their empire, you still remember those di’kut coming to Mandalore and murdering anyone in their sight.
“Buir! We must go!” you shout as you go to grab their arm, even while you were never allowed to remove your helmet. Your Buir knew you were afraid; they couldn’t blame you though you were still only a foundling. “You have to be brave now adiik, you must run and get away from Mandalore.” “What about you?” Your buir didn’t answer you instead they gently bumped their forehead against yours, “This is the way.”
“Hey kid!” Greez’s voice was quick to snap you out of your memory “Yes Greez?” You said as you went back to cleaning your blaster, “I’ll leave your plate here so you can eat later.” You nodded; you never took off your helmet even after Mandalore. Even when you met Cere and Greez you told them it was part of your creed and it was the one thing that you were still able to hold onto, Cere understood and thankfully so did Greez. “We’re approaching Bracca.” You heard Cere’s voice from the cockpit, you place your blaster in your holster and move over to where Cere was.
“Remember we’re here to find a Jedi named Cal Kestis” She said informing Greez and you, “and what makes you so sure he’s special?” You asked Cere she gives you a small smile “You do believe in hope, right?” She asked, you were glad for your helmet because she would’ve seen the doubt on your face when she asked you that. You haven’t believed in hope ever since the Great Purge on Mandalore, you didn’t want to get your hopes up only to lose it again like you did when you were alone. As you were lost in your thoughts you heard a loud sound erupt from outside.
You quickly look out the window and noticed a few empire starfighters “Shit! Cere they must’ve found him!” You shout, “Look there!” Cere shouts, you look and see a starfighter getting ready to blast at someone, Greez was quick to shoot at the starfighter you rush to the opening of the ship and press the door open “Hey what are you doing?!” Greez shouts, you decide to ignore him. As the ship door opens you saw him quickly look over at you, “keep moving!” You shout at him.
“And who are you?” You roll your eyes, was this really the time to be asking that? “Just keep moving forward! We’ll find a place to get you on the ship!” He only nodded and Greez pulled away quickly, “another starfighter is after us!” He shouts as he flies the Mantis away quickly, you place your hand on the wall to keep you from falling.
“Shit! They shot the train! Get ready to help Cal!” Cere shouts, you nod. Greez positions the Mantis and you watch as Cal comes sliding down the train, you hold your hand out “You have to jump!” You shout and Cal did what you said, but he was barely able to grab onto the edge of the platform. “Hold on!” You shout as you try sliding towards Cal as he’s about to reach for your hand a sudden blast hits the mantis, “Fuck!” You shout as Cal’s hand slips making him fall. “Cere he’s falling!” You shout “Greez try following him!” Greez nodded and tried following Cal, shit you didn’t think he would survive a fall like that. You’d be surprised if he did “He’ll be fine, relax.” You heard Cere say from the cockpit, even with your helmet on Cere often could read your emotions.
“I see him, get the door ready.” Greez says, when you look out the window you see Cal fighting against an inquisitor. You knew it was the second sister you rushed towards the door and open it; you see Cal on the ground rubbing his head “Get on!” You shout getting his attention, Cal was quick to get on his feet and limp his way over to the Mantis. That’s when you saw her the second sister with her red lightsaber glowing, she tilts her head to the side as she stares at you. “Funny I thought Mandalorians were extinct, I guess the empire didn’t wipe all of you out.” You didn’t say anything, instead you pushed Cal inside and pulled out your blaster and began to shoot at her.
She managed to dodge it and even use her lightsaber to deflect them back to you, you weren’t worried about it hitting you. Your armor protected you well enough, but when you saw her running towards the Mantis you knew she wanted to strike you down with her lightsaber. You press a button to get the door to close “Cere, Greez! We have to leave now!” You shout, as she gets close the door finally closes protecting you from her lightsaber. You and Cal rush to the front and see the second sister jump on the ship, she tried getting control of the ship. The mantis starts to spin around you hold onto anything, so you didn’t end up falling. Cere was quick to help Greez get control back on the ship making the second sister fall off from the mantis, Greez quickly sent the four of you into hyperspace and away from Bracca.
You let out a sigh of relief as you go sit down, “okay, shut that thing off and grab a seat.” You hear Greez say from the cockpit, Cal shut off his lightsaber “thanks for the help, but who are you people?” Cal asked as he and Cere joined you, “My name is Cere Junda, and this is my captain Greez Dritus.” Cal looked over at you waiting for you to introduce yourself, you crossed your arms and only stared at him back. Cere cleared her throat “She’s a close friend of mine, she’s a Mandalorian.” Cere said and Cal only managed a small nod “Who was that back there?” he asked Cere, “An imperial inquisitor she’s a force user hunting down Jedi survivors and now that she knows who you are, she will not stop until she destroys you.”
“How do you know so much?” Cal asked, “And why’d you help me?” Cere stared at Greez and you “We track imperial communications; we heard the inquisitors were heading to Bracca so we made our move.”
“Oh, yeah? What’s the bounty on Jedi these days anyway?” Cal said as he crossed his arms, “Hey di’kut you’re allowed to leave anytime nobody is stopping you.” You said to him, Cere and Greez risked their lives to save him and that’s the thanks he has for them? You didn’t want to listen to their conversation anymore, you decided to get up and leave to your room. As you close the door you finally take off your helmet Maker you were exhausted from today, you lay in your bed and slowly began to close your eyes.
“Adiik?” You open your eyes and see your buir near the door “Buir? You’re home late.” You said rubbing your eyes, they nod “I was in a meeting with the others, we were discussing the ceremony for you to accept the creed.” Your buir saw the way your eyes light up in excitement, they chuckled “are you excited?” “Yup! That way I can finally go with you to different planets! I want to see different parts of the galaxy.” You didn’t know that the incoming days would be the last with your buir, you wished that the both of you weren’t on Mandalore when the Great Purge happened.
You suddenly woke up when you heard a soft knock at your door, you quickly put on your helmet and walked over to your door to open it. When you did you saw Cal standing there, he awkwardly rubbed the back on his neck “Cere is calling for us.” “I’ll be there.” Cal continues to stand there, before you could ask him what’s wrong, he quickly apologizes to you “Listen, I’m sorry about before… I was just being caution.” You sighed “Cal don’t worry about it I understand, trust me Mandalorian beskar goes for a high price too.” He smiles “we should get going before Cere becomes inpatient.”
You follow Cal out and see Cere standing near the hologram “You two are finally up.” She said looking at Cal and you, you already knew she smiling at the sight of seeing you and Cal getting along. “We’ll be landing in Bogano, I’m sure you remember it right?” she asked you “Oh how could I forget the adorable bonglings.” You say to Cere, “You thought those things were cute?” Greez asked, “Hey don’t be jealous just because one of them let me touch it while they kept running away from you.” You teased Greez grumbles and Cere just chuckles, as Greez lands the ship you follow Cere and Cal outside.
“A Jedi I knew discovered this place before the Purge, you won’t find it on any maps.” Cere explained. “The empire doesn’t know this place exist?” “No.” “So what’s the plan...We hide out here?” Cal asked. “We’re done hiding Cal. See that structure over there?” She pointed towards a direction where it seemed to be a tall tower, “I believe that vault holds the key to rebuilding the Jedi order, but it requires someone strong in the force to pass its test.” Cere said to Cal, “and since you’re not a Jedi anymore that’s why you need me.” “I know you don’t trust me and I’m not really sure I trust you, but we have a common enemy and a common cause I’ll share more of plan after you reach the Vault, but until then there’s someone here, I think you should meet.” Cere begins to walk towards the Mantis “May the force be with you both.” When Cere said that you quickly looked over at her, she wanted you to go with Cal? Before you could even ask her, she was already inside the Mantis, “Guess we’re looking for a Jedi then?” he asked you.
You could only tilt your head “I’m assuming so, but I can’t entire the vault with you.” Cal only nods “Then I hope you can keep up.” He teases. You rolled your eyes as you start following him, you noticed a few bonglings jumping from one hole to another. “Have you been here before?” he asked, “Yeah, but I’ve never ventured far it was only Cere.” You hear Cal hum in response, as you follow Cal he comes to a stop “This looks like a safe space to meditate.” You didn’t respond you watched as he sits down on the ground and closes his eyes, you made sure to remain quite as you didn’t want to disturb him.
Suddenly though you heard a small noise coming from somewhere, you placed your hand on your blaster getting ready to protect Cal until a small droid jumped down in front of you almost startling you a bit. “Maker you scared me little guy.” You said taking your hand away from your blaster and placing it on your hip, the small droid beeped again and looked at Cal. He was still meditating “he’s a little busy just give him a few minutes.” You say to the little droid he places himself in front of Cal patiently waiting for him, you hear Cal suddenly let out a sigh before looking down at the droid in front of him “Hey, BD-1 I’m Cal.” BD-1 responses back to him, “uhm yeah I’m okay, we’re just looking for someone.” BD-1 beeps again “No, not you. We’re searching for a Jedi or something like that.” Suddenly BD-1 jumps in excitement almost like BD-1 is telling you both to follow.
“Hold on, you know the Jedi? What do you know?” BD-1 doesn’t explain instead telling you both to follow again “wait! Hold on.” You watch as BD-1 slices a platform allowing a small bridge to pull out making it easier for Cal and you to climb the vines “maybe BD-1 could lead us to the vault?” You asked as you follow Cal “Hopefully it would make it easier to get there.” You hummed in agreement, as the both of you follow BD you noticed BD going into a cave-like home. You suddenly saw a creature attacking one of the bonglings BD quickly rushed to save it, but the creature only ended up attacking BD in the process. “Hold on BD-1, I’m coming.” Cal says as he lets go out the pole and rushing the creature with his lightsaber.
As Cal took care of the creatures you picked up BD-1 and examined him “Shit Cal?” “What’s up?” you showed Cal the damage that happened to BD-1, “That was pretty brave of you to protect the bongling.” Cal said to BD-1, BD sadly beeped back at Cal “wait I think I can fix him.” You tilt your head as you follow Cal, he uses the force to slow down a giant fan-like object. As you follow Cal inside you see a workbench, “Here give me BD.” You gently pass BD to Cal and that’s when Cal gets to work on fixing BD’s leg, “okay how’s that?” BD jumps on one leg to the other to test it out, he beeps happily at Cal before beeping at you.
“Nice job.” You said nudging gently at Cal’s shoulder. “Hm, I didn’t expect to get a compliment from a Mandalorian.” Cal said smirking at you. “Don’t get used to it.” As you and Cal start to find your way out of the cave you saw an area that looked like it leads outside, “Oh hey you found a way out.” Cal took out his lightsaber and was getting ready to cut the wires away, you barely noticed that it was electrocuted “Wait Cal!” it was too late to warn him, Cal flies backwards as his lightsaber connects with the wires. “Dank farrik!” you rush to Cal and gently help him sit up “I’m alright.” Cal said letting out a painful groan “No you’re not, Cal that could’ve killed you.” You’re not sure what you could give Cal for his pain, you forgot to bring your bacta.
You heard BD-1 let out a beep as he rushed to your side and Cal’s suddenly BD-1 popped something out “a healing stim?’ BD beeped happily “Nice BD.” You gently patted his head, Cal used the stim “that’s better, thanks little droid.” Cal said as he starts getting up “Okay, let’s try this again.” Cal goes to cut the wires again until he felt a tug on his leg, “Cal it looks like someone’s attached to you.” You said gently nudging his side “okay then, hop on board.” Cal said placing BD on his shoulders, “so how’d you get here?” Cal asked BD, BD responded “Don’t remember? I’ve never known a forgetful droid.” BD responded back “Well I can’t argue with that.”
As you followed Cal out you noticed at times, he would spot an area and hold out his hand, it confused you was there something that you didn’t, “Cal?” “Yeah?” “Do you see something I don’t?” You asked, Cal came to stop. “I can feel the force, it’s almost like an echo if that makes sense. It’s almost like I can read someone’s stories and emotions through it.” You titled your head “Can every Jedi do that?” You asked, “I’m not sure, I think it’s rare I was just born with it I guess.” You hum.
“That’s neat.” “Is it?” “You can connect to someone’s story; I think that’s neat.” You said to him, “I thought you told me not to get used to getting compliments from you.” You were about to make a remark at him back, until you saw how close you two were getting to the vault. “Here I think we just have to zipline down.” Cal said, you nodded in agreement “I’ll go first.” You waited your turn as Cal zipped line down to a cliff, you followed after. As you got to the cliff BD let out a few chirps, “I don’t think we can go that way BD.” Cal said to him, “I think I can get to that cliff using my jetpack, but I’m not sure if I would be able to carry you.” You told Cal.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll find my way up there. I’ll meet you there?” You were hesitating about it, Cere told you both to stick together, but Cal did have a lightsaber and BD with him. “Okay be careful.” You told him “Are you starting to warm up to me? I feel safer now being on good terms with a Mandalorian.” Cal teased again “CAL!” You got ready to punch his shoulder, but Cal quickly jumped down dodging your attack. You sighed as you flew onto the edge of the cliff, as you slowly walked towards the vault you realized it didn’t have an opening.
“How the heck is Cal going to get inside?” You mumbled. You decided to take off your helmet, Cal wasn’t here, and you were positive nobody was here besides you guys. The wind felt nice and so did the sun against your skin, as you looked out you started to realize how peaceful Bogano was besides the creatures who resided on Bogano. Maybe that’s why cordova decided to live here? You wondered what you would’ve been doing now if the empire didn’t take over, would you have traveled the universe to different planets or stayed on Mandalore? You heard a sudden noise and quickly you put on your helmet, that’s when you saw Cal and BD. “Hey! How’d it go?’ you asked as BD and Cal jogged up to you, “I… actually reconnected with the force.”
“Cal, what do you mean?” You three made your way to the vault as Cal started to explain to you what he meant, “after the purge and… the death of my master I lost my connection with the force, so I forgot a few of my training. Somehow, I was able to reconnect to the force and I picked up a trick.” Before you could ask what, he remembered the three of you were finally at the top of the vault. Cal placed his hand on what seemed to be a gold-like wall, you watched as he closed his eyes almost like he was focusing on it. Suddenly you saw the wall slide up, both you and Cal looked at each other.
“I should probably stay out here.” You told him, he only nodded “Be careful in there.” “You too.” You watched as Cal disappear inside the vault, as you patiently wait for Cal you noticed something moving in the water in front of the vault. You decided to go see what it was, you knew there were creatures on Bogano. Yet you haven’t encountered much of them or had to shoot at one, as you got closer a large creature emerged from the water and it did not look friendly at all. “Shit!” you shouted as you dodged out of the way as the creature tried attacking you, what in the maker was it?! You said to yourself as you focused on not getting crushed by that thing.
You took out your blaster and began to shoot at it, you’re not sure how many times you would have to continue to attack it before it finally left you alone. As you tried dodging its attack again it was able to graze your leg, you let out a painful grunt. You heard someone running behind you, it was Cal he quickly turned on his lightsaber and attacked the creature. “Are you alright?” he asked as he stood in front of you guarding you in case the creature tried attacking you again, “I’m fine, it was just able to graze my leg a bit.” You said as you stood up, “I can still fight if that’s what you’re asking.” You pointed your blaster at the creature and that’s when you two began to attack it, thankfully with Cal at your side the fight didn’t last too long.
“Do you need a stim?” Cal asked as he turned off his lightsaber, you notice his eyes scan down to your leg. “I have bacta back at my room, I’ll be fine. What did you find out?” You asked as you place your blaster away, “There’s a holocron that contains the future for force-sensitive children.” When Cal told you that you could see the way his eyes light up in happiness “Cal, that’s great.” You said as you both made the journey back to the Mantis, once arriving back you saw Cere outside waiting.
“You passed the test.” “So, you knew about BD-1?” “C’mon board, we’ll take inside.”
You and Cal made your way inside the Mantis, once inside BD-1 jumped off Cal’s shoulder “Oh, BD-1 this is Greez. Hey, Greez.” Cal said, BD-1 quickly jumped on the sofa “what is that?” BD-1 chirped “Get off my sofa! Get… Get off my sofa! Go! Get outta there, Get out!” Greez said as he chased BD-1. BD-1 quickly took cover on your shoulder instead of Cal’s, almost like he was telling Greez that he has a Mandalorian to protect him. “That’s BD-1.” Cal said look over at you both, “He’s with us.”
“I don’t care who’s he with. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get oil stains out of potolli-weave fabric?” “Not really.” Cal said as he walked away from Greez and stood near you and BD-1, “Oh, I hope you found something better out there than this droid.” Greez complained, “Oh calm down greez he did.” Cere said.
“Tell us Cal.” “The vault was built by an ancient civilization called the Zeffo, A Jedi named Eno Cordova hide something inside of it.” “What did he hide inside?” Cere asked. “A holocron from the archives, it contains a list of force-sensitive children.” “The next generation of Jedi. I knew it! Ah Cordova you old fool.”
“You knew him?” Cal asked, “Yes, a long time ago. I was his apprentice. Cordova was a loner, that little droid and I are probably the only ones that know about Bogona.” Cere said. “Hold on, wait a minute, wait a minute. A holo-what?” Greez asked. “A holocron, it stores information, but only accessible to Jedi. Hang on I think I have one around here.” Cere said as she left to go grab it, the four you follow behind. Cere holds what seems to be a small box, she hands it to Cal “Use the force.” As Cal focuses on it, the box begins to open.
“This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen…”
The box closes ending the message, “with that list of force-sensitives, we could rebuild the Jedi Order and defeat the empire.” “Okay no problem. Let’s get it.” Greez says as he starts walking towards the cockpit, “Expect the holocron is hidden deep inside the Vault and to get it we have to follow Cordova’s path, he mentioned something about the planet Dathomir and a Zeffo homeworld.” Cal explained “Alright, well where are we going? I’m just asking, ‘cause I was thinking of maybe making some food.” Greez said.
“Look, before we do anything. I need to know something.” Cal sat as he looked over at Cere “How come you’re no longer a Jedi?” You watched as Cere casted her eyes down “I had an experience that… changed my perspective, So I cut myself off from the force.”
“But you still want to rebuild the order?”
“I believe that rebuilding the order is the best chance we have against the Empire, what do you believe?” Cere asked Cal, you saw he hesitated to answer before saying “I believe I can’t keep hiding from the Empire. So, I really don’t have a choice.” “Cal as long as you’re alive you will always have a choice, are you with us?” Cere asked, Cal looked over at you then to BD-1 who was still perched on your shoulder. “We’re in.” he said as BD-1 chirped happily “Dathomir or Zeffo? It’s your choice.” Cal walked over to the Holotable and picked Zeffo for the next destination “Hey kid, what happened to your leg?” Greez asked, shit you forgot all about that “some creature, I’m going to go clean it up.” You say as you leave to your room, you placed BD-1 down on your bed. You go to take off your helmet until you realize BD was with you, but… it wouldn’t count right? He’s not a living thing technically. BD-1 beeped curiously, you slowly take off your helmet and place it down on your bed, you watch as BD-1 starts scanning it.
“Do you have a thing for studying things?” you asked, and BD-1 chirped, “I’ll take that as a yes.” You say as you find the bacta and start cleaning your leg, “Maker I didn’t realize that it got me that badly.” You say to BD, you heard a knock on your door “Busy come again later.” “It’s Cal is BD with you?” he asked from the other side of the door, you picked up your helmet and put it back on before opening the door for Cal.
“Sorry I couldn’t find BD anywhere.” “No worries he was just watching me try to clean up my leg, apparently he likes scanning things.” “I’ve noticed.” Cal said as he walked inside your room, “Hey I can help put the bacta on your leg.” He said as he starts kneeling to where your leg was “Don’t worry I can do it.” For some reason though Cal didn’t get up instead he held his hand out waiting for you to hand him the bacta, “Cal… you’re so stubborn.” You said as you handed him the bacta, Cal is careful to extend your leg a bit towards him. He starts to gently clean at the wound, as Cal was focused on your leg, he didn’t notice you staring at him.
Usually whenever you got an injury you never really allowed someone to help you, but why did you allow Cal to help you? Maybe it was because he insisted on helping you while others would allow you to do it yourself? Who knows you decided to look over at BD who was staring at Cal, “done.” You heard Cal say, “nice work on the bandages.” You said as you lifted your leg onto your bed “I think I did a pretty good job.” “You did, thanks for helping me.” You say to him, “you’re going to rest for a bit?” he asked.
“Yeah, the trip to Bogona tired me a bit.” Cal nodded “I’ll let you know when we get to Zeffo.” “Thanks Cal.” You heard your door open and the close, you made sure to lock it before removing your helmet and placing it on your workbench. Your eyes start to slowly close and you start to dream of your childhood on Mandalore.

Lost & Found - Cal Kestis - Part 1
A/N: I am having to repost on this blog as Tumblr has terminated Profound-Wonderland. There is no trigger warnings to this part that I can think of.
Tumblr media
You had known Cal since his arrival on Bracca, you had been there nearly all your life, a nobody, until Cal arrived terrified and traumatised after quite literally crash landing into your life. You took the young boy under your wing being the same age as he was and showed him the ropes of his new life under the watchful eye of Paruf who tried his best to keep the two of you out of trouble.
It wasn't long until Cal's skills massively outshone your own with reflexes and agility that you swore wasn't humanly possible, he was haunted though, always held back by something and you'd sworn after the first time you'd looked into his eyes and saw how much pain they held that you would never let anything hurt him again, he was your best friend, your only friend and he was yours to protect. If only you knew what was coming, if only you knew how much you'd fail in that task you would've taken Cal and left Bracca for the furthest reaches of the galaxies.
Everything changed when he saved Paruf, when the Second Sister arrived, when Paruf sacrificed himself for Cal, when Cal ignited a lightsaber, grabbed your arm and ran, making your way through the train while he cut down Storm Troopers, everything changed when you met Cere and Greeze and Cal started down his path, the path of a Jedi, one that you, as a human, was no help whatsoever in, one that for the first time in 5 years, couldn't follow him down, still he took you with him, you explored every planet that you needed to go to for his mission with him, you learned how to shoot a blaster and even saved his life a couple of times, yes, he was still your Cal and he still took you everywhere no matter how much Cere complained you were slowing down the mission and she was right, you did slow down the mission, infact, it's because of you the mission failed and came to an end.
"Let her go Trilla, I'll surrender, you can take me" your heart shattered at those words, this was your fault and you were prepared to die after you had gotten yourself cornered by the Second Sister, your eyes closed tightly as you waited to feel the burn of Trilla's lightsaber but it never came, instead you heard your best friends voice, Cal had always known when you were in trouble and came running, he said it was a gift, that the two of you were connected and swore up and down it was nothing to do with the force but you never quiet believed him. Trilla's grip on you loosend slightly as she considered Cal's words of surrender, taking a moment to look at your friend you saw an expression on his face that you hadn't seen since you'd first met, fear, Cal was scared and it unnerved you, Cal was never scared.
"Lay down your wepon, Jedi and I'll consider your surrender" came Trilla's reply while you were desperately thrashing in her grip. "Cal! No! Run, you're more important than I am, you need to go on, you need to complete mission" he didn't reply, he simply removed BD-1 from his shoulder and placed him on the ground with his saber and started walking towards Trilla, who quickly realised she had won and threw you like you weighed nothing across the ground, skidding to a holt behind BD and the saber, within seconds Cal was in her grip and Storm Troopers were surrounding them both. With the last ounce of energy you had you grabbed Cal's saber which felt heavy in your hand and for a moment you were surprised at how Cal weilded it like it weighed nothing and ran towards them, letting a battle cry escape your throat, you didn't get very far as Cal flicked his wrist and used the force to throw you away into the nearest wall where you hit your head and everything went dark.
You awoke to the anxious beeping of your friends little droid and opened your eyes to find him sat on your chest, you were no longer on the planet but back on the Mantis you realised. Merrin had done a good job of patching you up but BD offered you a stim just to be sure, you got up and found the rest of the crew looking at you with sorrow, they knew, they knew Cal was gone, probably dead and that it was your fault but you told them what had happened anyway and asked Greeze to take you to any planet, you couldn't stay with them, the guilt was too much, Merrin and Greeze begged you to say, both confident that Cal was still alive and there was still hope, when your eyes met Cere's you could tell that she wasn't so sure, her eyes seemed to say if he is alive, he won't be the Cal you knew for much longer.
That was a year ago and you'd found yourself living on a little back planet with BD who refused to let you go alone. You'd managed to find a room and kept yourself to yourself, mourning Cal everyday, you hadn't realised how much the Jedi had meant to you until he was gone, you hadn't realised that you loved the boy more than you should love your best friend and you had began to wish the two of you had never left Bracca. It had been a long day of pouring drinks in the local cantina and you couldn't wait to get into bed as you walked into your room at your lodgings listening to BD beep and boop about all the people he'd seen that day from your shoulder, once you got in you placed him down on your bedside cabinet and checked the draw for Cal's lightsaber out of habit, you wanted to believe he was alive and someday you would be able to give him his saber back but as the days went on your hope started to dwindle, BD beeped next you "he's still out there" the little droid told you confidently and you gave him a tired smile "it's been a year BD, nothing ever kept Cal away for this long, if he could've come back to us, he would've by now" with that and an almighty ache in your chest crawled into bed without bothering to change and soon drifted off to sleep ready to forget the pain and forget Cal, just for a little while.
You awoke a few hours later to explosions and screams, thanking the maker that you hadn't gotten changed or even taken your boots off you shot up, grabbed BD who was hopping from foot to foot asking you what was going on "I don't know BD, I'm in here with you" you snapped at the little droid as you holstered your blaster and clipped Cal's lightsaber to your belt and carefully ventured out the door, once you had made it out of the building you saw smoke and chaos, locals running for their lives in pure panic, stopping a passerby you asked them what was going on "it's the Empire, they're here, a new Inquisitor and some Storm Troopers!" They told you before running for any safety they could find, you decided to head to where they had landed as there must still be those who needed help and were pinned down by the Empire, you were going to do what Cal would've done. BD was booping at you that this was a terrible idea and you agreed with him but you were going to do it anyway.

A Shadow of What You Used to Be (19)

Chapter 19: Voice of Treason | Cal Kestis x Irele Skywalker
Requested by Anon
Summary: There is another! Years after young Anakin Skywalker departed Tatooine, his mother Shmi delivers a second child—this time, a daughter. Whilst the circumstance of the girl’s birth remains unexplained, Irele Skywalker has yet to choose the true path between those laid out for her.
A/N: Hello guys, I’m sorry if I’ve become so inactive last year. The slump was one thing, but more and more things kept piling on my shoulders that it’s becoming more difficult to bear. I lost my grandmother a few months after I announced that she was sick. We lost her to cancer. My only comfort was that I was able to take care of her and spend time with her. For a while, I lost my energy to write again; and now that it’s the new year, I’m picking up my old habits again. I hope you guys have had a great Christmas and I wish you guys a wonderful 2022. ❤ As for me, I’m okay and I will be.

Trilla’s heart leapt, but not in the wholesome way most would think.
The sight of the red-haired Jedi roaming free like a dog and Irele—of all people—behind him without any form of restraint on him launched a thousand ideas into Trilla’s mind.
It was a risk to frame Irele, but if ever the universe would favor her, perhaps she would topple Vader’s own ward out of her own pedestal.
“Don’t you have another target in mind, Trilla?”
“It was never implied that we stick to whom we choose to hunt,”
Irele squinted in reply. The Second Sister’s knack of not answering Yes-or-No questions slightly vexxed the young ward.
Trilla raised her lightsaber, its end pointed at the boy with a head of hair as crimson as her blade. The gesture suggested as if she’s taking the Jedi for herself.
“I see that he is not bound, Irele,”
“Smart observation,”
The Inquisitor’s lip snarled, “Are you conspiring with this Jedi?”
“Do you have proof that I am?”
There is a silence. Irele was not to be underestimated, especially her wit—borne from the harsh desert life in Tatooine and sharpened by her exclusive Imperial training to serve Vader—it was more of an ally to her than an asset, as some people would have remarked. She made sure that the Inquisitor was aware of the repercussions if she were to accuse the Vader’s Ward, heavier is the punishment when the treason is proven baseless and for lack of evidence.
“Then why isn’t he bound if you’ve captured him!?”
“Cal here proved to be quite cooperative that I felt that there is no need for it,”
The Jedi boy could not react—as a matter of fact, he does not know how or what. Thoughts chased each other around his head, the exchange of the two women was nearly white noise to him. Although, one coherent question could be heard in his mind, What is she planning to do with me in this?
When the white noise dissolved and his attention returned to the Inquisitor and his apparent captor, just when he thought they were coming to a close in the conversation, a trooper in black armor with red stripes—one that Cal is very familiar with—butts into the scene.
He politely does so, beginning with an “Excuse me” and when all three turn to him, the soldier fixes his faceless gaze on the young ward.
“Lord Vader has requested for you, milady,”
“Tell him it’ll take me a few minutes, I left my fighter in the other side of the island,” the fact slightly exasperated the girl.
Irele detected a croak in the soldier’s voice, as if he cut himself from what he was about to say; he gathers himself in the next second.
“He requests that you come now, we will have a shuttle arranged for you.”
with the Second Sister and the Purge Trooper standing beside each other, Irele half-shifted her eyes to her left, then quickly steeled them at the latter, perfectly masking her growing distrust. It appears she was more concerned of her favorite ship being blown to bits or thrown off to the black ocean rather than the credit of her capture being grabbed by someone else.
“Have a porter fetch my fight and dock it where I’m headed,” she commanded as she strode ahead of the trooper. She signalled for another trooper standing around to put Cal in handcuffs. The air of authority lingered upon her.
Before disappearing with the trooper, she stopped at her heels to face the Second Sister.
“You’ll take it from here, won’t you, Trilla?”
the woman did not speak. Irele took it as a yes when she hung her head and did not meet her gaze again. Irele let her thoughts run once she was alone with the trooper in the large elevator heading to the surface. The moment she left Cal alone with the Second Sister, he was open for the taking and the next competent person was there with him. Later on, her thoughts branched out to Trilla’s next possible move, which she has always anticipated from the start. Turning him in formally before Vader obviously meant that the acknowledgment is hers, and hypothetically, the favor. She can almost feel the Second Sister’s glee.
Vader’s sister was confident that she cannot be toppled that easily. Her cunning was something that her own big brother lacked and secretly envied, for he was the perfect opposite: he is sheer, brute force, imposing and terrifying just as his mere silence. Her mind wandered on the idea that while there are moments where she saw Trilla’s determination—albeit reckless and sometimes miscalculated—but she confessed to herself that she had been blind to Trilla’s desperation for favor. Being in the second highest rank among the Inquisitors meant that she would do anything to preserve that status, or evolve it—but Irele had the feeling that she Second Sister would’ve preferred the latter.
Through the maze of rock and ice, Irele and trooper find themselves in the base—the one pasr the abandoned village—and marched through the aisle of computers on either side. Her appearance caused every Stormtrooper to drop everything and greet her.
“Carry on.” she simply dismissed.
The large door disappeared into its frame, Irele makes her way to the center of the landing platform that’s jutting out of the mountain face. A gray shuttle awaits her at the end of the runway.
The humid ocean breeze was such a relief for Irele, the air in the caves felt too stale and heavy—it reminded her of the days where she was first captured then conditioned. The scent of wet grass was welcome in her lungs and for the first time, her exhale sounded satisfied, and a smile snuck in as she pushed out the last of the air before boarding the ship.
Once off-planet, she recognized her ship. Behind it—with a considerable distance—was another, and she didn’t need to know whose it is.
When the shuttle landed in the hangar of the second command ship, she gracefully strode out of the entrance, barely missing a beat in her stride; the trooper following her tails was replaced by a uniformed officer, obligated to escort the young lady to the dark lord’s chamber. Irele gestured at the man with her, essentially dismissing him and so he left as she entered.
After her first few steps through the door, she bent a knee and bowed with great reverence.
“You called for her, Brother?”
In the center of the room was a large, black shell. Parted vertically to reveal an ice-white space inside, sitting in it was Darth Vader with his back turned to Irele while looking at a screen. He later swivels his seat to face her.
“The report states that you’ve caught a Jedi,”
“As I should, yes,”
“Perhaps you’re aware that he and his companions have something far more important than the bounty on their heads,”
Irele squints her eyes in puzzlement. Vader senses that she is not hiding anything behind that expression.
“It wasn’t stated in the profile though,”
Indeed, when the profile were presented before the Inquisitors and Irele, there was no indication that Cal is in possession of whatever important thing Vader mentioned.
Irele continued, “What is it?”
“A Holocron,”
“What does it contain?”
“A list of children, Force-sensitive ones. They will be a great asset to the Emperor. I trust that you make him talk about where he’s hiding it,”
“Even if it kills him?”
Darth Vader only stared facelessly.
-
Meanwhile, Trilla did exactly what Irele had anticipated. She thought that there is the slim chance that either Irele will declare her responsibility of the capture or Vader will acknowledge it based from the reports submitted. The Inquisitor decided to gamble her luck.
“We’ll take him to the ship,” Trilla commanded another trooper.
The Second Sister takes the lead, two troopers block Cal from a back exit.
Still bound, Cal had not noticed that from the moment he and Irele met Trilla, BD-1 was missing the whole time. He was smart enough not to make his concern obvious, he trusted the tiny droid had something up in its circuits. He asked BD-1—in his thoughts—where could he be.
Alas, the tiny droid, practically invisible to the enemy, skittered rock to rock as he attempted to get closer to the troopers. Whatever the droid is planning—it will end up to be a mess. The pitter-pat of its feet was muted by the dull squeaking of the cogs in the middle of the caves. In a spider-like grace, BD jumped onto the shoulder of one trooper, the tip of his splicer sends a jolt of electricity and BD didn’t wait for him to fall to the floor before hopping to the other.
The Second Sister spun to witness the commotion unravelling before her. Not wasting a split second longer, the tiny droid immediately hopped onto Cal’s wrist and picks the lock of the cuffs. Cal’s first instinct was to ignite his saber, Trilla follows, and they exchange hits. The were too preoccupied with their skirmish that they didn’t notice a small band of bounty hunters—one of them was a droid—had been camping above the rocks and finally got the golden opportunity to jump on them.
In the middle of their interlocked saber, the hulking droid descended from its perch, the ground shook as it landed and split the two warriors apart. Then it was time for the bounty hunters to spring into the action.
“Oy, you take on the woman, get the boy!” cried the hunter, thick with accent.
Trilla and Cal each had to deal with two hunters. It would seem that Cal had gotten the shorter end of the stick since he had both the droid and the hunter’s attention. The Inquisitor was pushed to the edge, landing a lower rock outcrop with her two enemies.
Once separated, the humanoid bounty hunter fished out something from under his cape. A small metal canister explodes into a fog upon hitting the ground, partially blinding Cal; it caught Trilla’s attention and gave the enemy an opening to strike her—and strike her he did. This disoriented her long enough to make their escape with a knocked-out Cal on the droid’s shoulder.
They fled.
The Second Sister felt her stomach sink to her feet.

Cal may have started off shy, but Obi-wan was pretty sure that was purely based on walking in to find his thesis advisor face down on his desk.
short panel strip for @shortcuts-make-long-delays's cwrb fic 'sourdough: flour, water, and starting over' which, as well as being a hilariously clever and super adorable codywan piece, has this mentorship scene between Cal & Obi-Wan that made me positively melt.

Hanging on tight (Reader x Cal Kestis)

Summary: You are Cal's girfriend and have social anxiety. When you go to a social gathering, Cal is there to help out.
Tumblr media
Taking a deep breath it wasn’t enough to calm your nerves. Gripping on tight to the seat you sat on. Knees trembling anxiously the more you thought about. Biting your lip, a million disastrous thoughts crossed your mind. You barely noticed BD entering the room you were in. He bleeped loud, startling you. He tilted his head a bit to the side, tripling on his stands. You sighed deep. – “No I’m not that excited BD.” – you told him.
“I’m not sure about this… maybe… maybe I should just sit this one out?” – you suggested, pleading with the droid as if it was his call. There was a knock on the wall outside the room. Cal entering all smiley. He came leaning against the doorway, admiring you for a moment. His lovey dovey eyes making way for worriedness.
He noticed how uncomfortable you were. – “Y/n.” – he said stepping up to you. BD jumped aside when Cal came kneeling in front of you. – “Everything alright?” – he asked placing a caring hand on your trembling knee. With gentle pressure, he stopped it from shaking nervously. There was no lying to him, so you told him the truth.
“I…I…I shouldn’t come… I’m a walking disaster.” – you confessed, looking ashamed away. Cal curled up a warm smile, moving his hand over your knee to you hand, taking it. – “I don’t want you to worry.” – he told you.
“If you don’t feel like coming. I understand. I am not fond of those meetings too, but it is nice to know you are by my side. Yet!” – he concluded holding his finger up. – “That does not mean I am pressuring you. If you want to sit this one out, I am all for it if it makes you feel better.” – you smiled faintly at how caring he was. Always considering your feelings over his own.
You squeezed his hand to reassure him. – “I…I want to be there for you.” – you said, shoulders slouching. – “It is just… I’m afraid I’ll make it worse with my presence alone. I am not the best in conversating with people I don’t know.” – you reminded him even though he didn’t need reminding. – “I know, my star.” – he replied, tugging some hair behind your ear. It made you smile bashfully down. – “If you feel like falling, I’ll be there to hold you. I promise you I’m not letting go.” – he reassured you.
“You won’t be lonely as I’ll hold on tight to you, If you want to go to the restroom, too bad as I am clutched onto you.” – he said making you laugh loud. He always found a way to cheer you up and it worked. – “You’ll get bored of me.” – you teased. Cal looked dramatically shocked. – “Me? Bored of you? How could I when my love for you is so big.” – he opened his arms, making you quirk your brows. He fell forwards, strapping his arms around you.
You laughed loud feeling him tickle your side. Squirming under his grip. – “Cal…Cal stop!” – you called out laughing. He chuckled moving his hands up. He then pressed a deep kiss on your cheek. He helped you up, BD bleeping loud on the ground. – “Right about that BD!” – Cal called out proudly. You furrowed your brows. – “We aren’t letting you deal with this alone!” – he explained making you smile.
Moving your hand to his cheek, you left a kiss on his other cheek. Cal grinned from ear to ear. He took your hand, squeezing it tight. – “I’ll never let go.” – he whispered to you. BD hopped onto his back as he guided you further down the Mantis. Some of your anxiety had left your body which was good. Cere asked silently how things were. Cal winked at her, saying enough. Cere nodded following you to the entrance way of the Mantis.
The three of you got off, greeted by the fresh air. You swallowed nervously, squeezing his hand a bit more. – “I’m right here.” – he whispered to you, kissing you teasingly. Cere took the lead, Cal and you followed. You focused on the exterior to not be confronted with the brooding anxiety in you.
To calm your mind, you started to silently count the trees you spotted. Cal smiled hearing you softly mutter out the numbers. You were alright and that was what mattered. If you were not, he promised himself he’d get you out of there as soon as possible. Not caring what people would think of him or how rude he’d be. You were his priority now and always.
You came to a sudden stop at the entrance. The shadow of the building casted down on you. Slowly feeling the building stretch out while you grew smaller and smaller. Heart thumping louder against your chest. Cal brought your entangled hand up, whispering close to you. – “We can still run away if you like? I’ve heard there are many places to sneak off to.” – You slowly shook your head, knowing how important this was for Jedi’s all around the galaxy.
This was bigger than you. – “I follow you everywhere.” – you told him. Cal moved his shoulder up, a signal for BD to hop on your back. The reassurance of the droid close by made you ease a bit up. – “Don’t worry, BD will sting everyone who comes too close for your standards.” – he chuckled out. You nudged him for his glamorous humor.
Taking a deep breath, the two of you walked inside. Cere was waiting in the main hall, smiling at your presence. The moment you entered the room, your body stiffened. There were a lot more people then you anticipated. Cal noticed it, turning you away from them. Tilting your chin up by his thumb. – “Focus on me, only on me. We’ll stay right here and let those who want to come to us. No need to wander around and chat. We’ll stay right here.”
Flashed with love, you kissed him deeply on the lips. Arms wrapped around him. It surprised him for a moment as you practically jumped at him. He smiled against your lips before kissing you back. – “I love you Cal.” – you told him. – “I love you more Y/n.” – he replied, pressing your hand against his chest.
Cal distracted you by telling you vigorous wild stories, using his whole body to showcase it. It made you laugh, slowly easing up and forgetting about the people in the room with you. When someone would come to meet you because Cere brought them to Cal and you, he held your hand close.
Making sure you didn’t need to talk if you didn’t feel like it. Drawing the attention deliberately to him so they wouldn’t make you nervous. It made you feel so loved, you let your head lean against his shoulder, blessed to have such a caring Jedi boyfriend.

Fallen Order AU where Cere is killed and Cal is taken by Darth Vader with the intention of making him an Inquisitor. But when Cal’s psychometric abilities are revealed, Vader has a different plan in mind, one that causes certain truths and revelations to come to light. Cal didn’t know what he was getting into when he showed Vader what he saw through those echoes, but he really didn’t sign up to accompany said Sith Lord while he went through a midlife crisis.
Essentially, Vader finds out the truth about how Palpatine lied to him and how Padmé really died and also the fact that he has twins out there somewhere and decides “fuck palpatine” and drags a bewildered Cal - who becomes his unofficial apprentice of sorts - with him as he plots a way to take the emperor down and also, find his kids.
Also a Darth Vader redemption of sorts. He’s still a pretty shitty guy at the start and his whole reason for wanting to kill the Emperor is solely to avenge Padmé. He also has some murderous intent towards Obi-Wan for hiding his children from him and also, leaving him to burn. He’s in the mindset of believing that he wasn’t at fault and blames others for everything that happened, including his actions. But gets a hard wakeup call from Cal when he shows him just how shitty things are and what the Empire, what he has done and finally thinks “oh, I’m the problem” and from then on his slow redemption starts as he sets out on attempting to repair the damage done as he starts back on the rocky path towards the light. He also trains Cal, who at first goes “fuck that and fuck you” but eventually the two become a duo. Like Vader and Starkiller if Vader was going through a crisis, stumbling through a path of redemption and Starkiller was his tired, annoyed, unofficial apprentice who was unwillingly dragged along for the ride.

Lost & Found - Cal Kestis - Part 9
A/N: I don't think there are any trigger warnings for this part - enjoy ❤️
Tumblr media
Smoke was billowing from the wreckage as you approached, you could hear Cere and the others not too far behind you. Your breath caught in your throat as you took in Cal crawling out of the wreck, you'd never seen him look so beaten and broken, you grabbed his arm and dragged him away from the fallen ship, your fallen ship, before it blew, he took one look at you and fell into unconsciousness.
"Cere, help me!" You screamed at the older Jedi as she approached, she took in the damage of the ship and then the state that Cal was in and started barking orders at the three of you, instantly, you all sprung into action, Merrin doing the most by using her magick to levitate him to head back towards the Mantis where you could properly treat his injuries, you all stopped dead when a beaten up old droid came out of the wreckage and played you a hologram, it was Trilla. "You can have him back, little witch, for a time, but will he be him when he wakes?" She laughed and the message ended. You looked at Cere, who looked at you and then at Cal. "Get him into the Mantis."
No more was said on Trilla's message until you had treated all the physical wounds you could see on Cal but those weren't the ones you were worried about, the Second Sisters message playing over and over in your head. "Will he be him when he wakes?" It'd been nearly 5 days before he crash landed on Bonago and you had no idea what she'd done to him in that time, what he'd been through. Cere was nervous, you could tell, she'd been picking at her nail beds and glancing at Cal in intervals since you'd patched him up, watching from the doorway of his quarters on the Mantis. You knew one thing, if Trilla knew where to send him, they had broken him enough to get that information out of him, there was nowhere else to run too so you'd have to nurse Cal back to health and hope he was still him when the fight arrived on Bogano.
"Cere?" You all but whispered her name "What do we do?" She looked at you, it was the first time you'd seen this look on her face, uncertainty. She shook her head at you "I don't know, we won't know if Cal is still Cal until he wakes up" you nodded. "What if he's not, what do we do if he's the Eleventh Brother when he wakes up?" You croaked trying to hold back the tears "We deal with it" was all she replied, you looked up at her to see Greez and Merrin stood behind her "We can't stay here" the nightsister all but whispered as Greez nodded along in agreement with her "Where else is there to go?" Cere shot back at the pair, Merrin paused for a moment, a warm smile on her face as she took in BD who had taken his rightful place next to Cal. "Dathomir." Greez tensed, he really hated that planet "We can use the Nightbrother village to contain him if he isn't himself and if he is we could hide there for a while" she looked at you "It might also help your connection, help your Magick" you nodded and looked at Cere for the final word on Merrin's plan "Captain, set a course for Dathomir" Greez nodded and he and Merrin headed towards the cockpit, Cere looked at you "Get some rest, I don't think Merrin will go easy on you once we land" and she to, left for the cockpit.
Rubbing your hands down your face you slid down the side of Cal's bed so you were sat with your back leaning against it, BD crawled over his chest to sit between you and booped at you "I know he's back buddy, but don't get your hopes up okay? He might not be Cal when we wakes up" BD beeped at you sadly at the thought of this and then went quiet, you dozed off a little while later and you were greeted with the familiar nothingness of Cal coming to you in your dreams and it didn't take you long to spot him, on his knees looking utterly hopeless. "Cal?" You dropped to your knees In front of him "Tell me you weren't there?" He asked you "On Bonago? We all were" he sighed "I'm with you?" He asked looking up at you "Yes, your currently unconscious in your quarters, BD hasn't left your side and I'm asleep on the floor leaning against your bed" you told him "You shouldn't have bought me on board, I don't know who I'll be when I wake up" you shook your head at him "You'll be you when you wake up, you'll be Cal" you assured the broken boy in front of you "If you aren't, we'll fix it, I promise" his eyes met yours and they were void of all emotions, his thumb came up to brush your cheek and you flinched, his hand recoiled instantly as he took in the wound from the blaster, you grinned at him "Why are you grinning like that?" He questioned "We match" you giggled as your fingers ghosted along his scar, he let out a soft chuckle "Your ridiculous" you nodded "Maybe, but you wouldn't have me any other way" it was his turn to nod.
"Hey Cal, do you remember your parents?" You questioned quietly, he shook his head "Not really, I was young when I was taken and started my training, I guess our masters sort of become our parents" he shrugged "Why do you ask?" "I was just curious" he was staring at you now, as if debating what he should say next, he settled on "So, your a nightsister huh?" You nodded "Apparently so, a rubbish one though, I haven't been able to do anything since I threw Trilla into the forest" he nodded "That bought us time though, I got you safely on the Mantis" your eyes widened "And you left me again, I'm getting really sick of it" he looked away from you and down to his hands "Actually that time I was coming with you, I figured after Trilla saw us together and you did what you did, the offer to come with us would be gone and she'd hunt you wether I was with you or not and I wasn't going to let you face that alone" your heart melted and you smiled at him "I think you'll be you when you wake up" he didn't look so convinced, in the distance the pair of you could hear a knocking and Cal looked back into your eyes "It's time for you to wake up, Little Witch" you had hated it when Trilla called you that but it sounded so different coming from Cal, there was no hatred or disgust in his voice, just affection and pride "I don't want too, I want to stay here with you" he shook his head "You can't, they need you" he took your face in his hands and placed a gentle kiss on your lips and then pulled away slightly "Wake up" he whispered onto your lips and your eyes shot open, you were greeted with a giggling Merrin "Good dream?" She teased.
There was nothing particularly special about your home planet, it was all dust and heat and reanimated sisters but you loved it already, you could feel the power under your feet. The four of you had no trouble moving Cal into one of the little huts, it was like the planet knew who Merrin was and had a respect for her, it was like the planet knew who you were and that you'd come home. After settling Cal and BD in their makeshift abode, Cere and Greez set up in one next door and Merrin on the other side, you'd dragged a cot for yourself into Cal's, the four of you sat outside, taking in the sunset and trying to come up with a plan of action for both scenarios of Cal waking up, you got nowhere and none of you could agree, you'd absentmindedly been conjuring little green flames and Merrin was practically bursting with pride, a comfortable silence settled over the four of you which was broken shortly after by a panciked "Beeeeeeeep" as BD came flying out of the hut followed by the unmistakable sound of a Lightsaber igniting "You didn't think to take his Lightsaber?" Greez yelled at you as Cere shook her head in disbelief "It's not mine to take?" You offered back, you couldn't believe your own stupidity.
