33. Who has the most nightmares and how do they deal with them?

I feel like with all the lifetimes he's lived and the nature of how he got those lifetimes, probably Luxu. But he's also the kind of guy who's probably gotten very used to it, and is very jaded about it all. It's all very routine at this point, and I think he's also never properly dealt with the kind of role he's had to fill. Once he starts bodyhopping, he's become a means to an end for some master plan, so he no longer has the luxury to process things.

So I him "dealing with them" would involve plenty of unproductive nights of staying awake and solving nothing, shrugging it off as just another night of "I'm just wide awake, I guess". And he can't really talk to anyone about nightmares anyways, can he?

Jasper was a monster. That was what Hendrik thought of him – what everyone thought of him. He was the monster who destroyed Cobblestone, terrorized the Gondolians, cursed a child, used the Luminary’s best friend as a bait, freed a witch to devastate a kingdom and lure and kill a Heliodorian general… And then his numerous attempts to kill the Luminary – the last one being almost decisive. His deplorable feats were too severe for him to ever be forgiven. He originally did not even want to, feeling contempt in being the evil man people depicted him to be. Slowly, though, it started upsetting him. He was only remembered as this unforgivable traitor who tried to kill the Luminary, and not the general who led his army to countless victories thanks to his wise strategies. Only the last (then) year of his life was taken in consideration, and not any of his achievements from the thirty-five years prior. The attack on the Emerald Coast, the blue dragon of the Hotto steps, his navy exploits, the times he stood by Hendrik’s sides on the front line… All of this came for naught. Jasper did not want to be the villain anymore, but Hendrik’s words were a painful reminder he would always be one.

Hi! I've recently come across Fire Walk With Me and and it's gotten me excited about reading again. So thank you! What stories inspire you to write/would you recommend reading?

Oh, wow, thank you so very much for the kind words! There are a few Stardew Valley fics that particularly made me get excited about the prospect of writing and that I absolutely recommend:

Through the Worst of the Winter by almostvirginia. The one I recommend everybody in the Stardew fandom read. It's a gorgeous, rich, lush look at a Harvey/Male Farmer romance, subsequent marriage, and adventures toward their own happily ever after. She's published additional works in the series (charmingly named The Adventures of Farm Boy & Dr. Boyfriend) and they are so very wonderful.

The entire Old Patterns, New Threads series by maxRebo, particularly the most recent installment, "Cross Stitch." It's one of the best series I've come across for switching between many, many different points of view, all of which together form a composite view of Pelican Town like a patchwork quilt. Comforting and beautiful and sad and wistful all at the same time.

The Withstanding the Tide series by @captainbobbin. An absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful slow burn between Elliott and a male farmer who just wants to take care of him and make sure he's treated right. The first part of the series, the title story, is complete, but basically acts to set things up for the ongoing story, "In the Grip of Redamancy." He's done such a great job of crafting a world that feels so vibrant and real; pluck an image in a scene and it vibrates with description and resonance.

time/too much/none by jeanjmo. Much like Old Patterns, New Threads, it goes back and forth between many, many different perspectives, but this is a very different take on Pelican Town about five years or so after the events of the game begin: everyone's a little older, and has moved on a bit, but that doesn't mean everything's okay. Hearts still hurt and people still long for things that transpired in the past and wish for everything to be better.

Thinking again on how Sylv's magic might be tied-in to his emotions, and how he channels his anger into his strength stat, and his happiness into his charm stat. The move Finger of Justice is described as “unleashing the power of righteousness”, and is tied into his Chivalry skill tree - it runs off his strength stat. Meanwhile, That’s Amore is described as “a barrage of unbridled affection” - and it runs off his charm stat. Sylv's (righteous) anger lies in his strength, yet his endgame strength stat is middle of the table (in terms of the party)... His battling lets him unleash his indignation on monsters, which is why he's usually so happy all the time.
