This is Chitragupt, an OC of mine based on a god by the same name, from my WIP Patal Inc Pvt Ltd.

Some design notes:

The premise of this story is what if the Hindu Hell had a front as a multinational corporation based in Kolkata, called Patal Inc Pvt Ltd. Chitragupt is the COO of Patal Inc.

The god Chitragupt, is the god of scribes and recordkeeping. While he isn't the one who passes the final judgement on souls, he is responsible for archival of all deeds every living being has committed ever. I imagine that must be tiring.

Chitragupt in my story is also a god but also extremely burnt out and exhausted at all times. And when I first listened to Ong Bong Chhong, it immediately made me think of him. The lyrics fit very well!!

The text reads 'Bolo Hari Hari Bol', which is something people say while carrying a dead body to cremation grounds. 'Hari' is a name for Vishnu and chanting Hari's name makes a soul go to Heaven. Well, for Chitragupt, that's just more paperwork.

There's a water buffalo behind his head cause that's the patron animal for the god of death, his boss

#shankarjaikishanfans pay their tributes to veteran film Music Director SHRI NATH TRIPATHI #sntripathi ( 14 th March 1913 - 28 th March 1988 ) on his 110 TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY TODAY. S.N.Tripathi was a versatile all-round Artiste who besides being a talented Music Composer was also an Actor , Director , Singer , Story & Screen Play Writer and Film Maker from the Thirties to the Eighties. Classical greats then ranked him along with Naushad sab, Vasant Desaiji & C.Ramchandraji as the best Classical Music Composers of those days.The great #Chitragupt ji was Assistant to him and also sang under his baton. His favourite Lyricist was Pandit Bharat Vyas and together they gave some Immortal Melodious songs in Historical & Mythological films.Some less heard but Melodious gems are appended. (1)" Thane Kaajaliyan banaloon " Rajasthani folk song by Lataji & Mukeshsab - Veer Durgadas ( 1960 ). (2) " O Pawan Vaeg se Udane wale ghode " . Lataji in Jai Chittod ( 1961). (3) " Un per Kaun Kare ji Vishwas " - Lataji - Rafisab dwand Geet from Kavi KALIDAS ( 1959 ). Tripathiji lived in an old building - Rasik Vila at M.G. Road , Vile-Parle East, Mumbai. Laxmikant Pyarelal who also lived nearby were then ( 1963 ) struggling for a break. They used to wait for Tripathiji in the passage landing outside his 1 st Floor home. A kindly lady Mrs. Sunanda Jaykar on the 2 nd Floor used to give them tea / coffee / snacks as they waited patiently for the Composer. Ultimately their perseverance paid off . Parasmani was offered to S N Tripathiji ,who being unwell at that time , recommended LP to the Producer.
