I know of an American Christian (since that's it's own thing) who says the world was created 6,000 years ago, but God did everything up to make it look like the world was actually 14.5 billion years old, so fossils, fossil fuels, everything can still exist, and the everyone in the Bible up until the Tower of Bable spoke Jacobean English before God changed all the languages. Why the latter? Because he believes the King James 1611 Bible is THE definitive Bible.
Just to give an example of how even more messed up Christianity can be when left to its own devices.
The Creation Myth isn't something uncommon in conversative churches, in fact, it's one of the most frequently discussed topics in US politics. Conservatives have a traditionalist interpretation of the Bible, which is why they brazenly embrace the creation myth, while condemning any science-based studies. According to Gallup, about 4/10 of USAmericans believe in the Creationist myth. It says a lot about how religion is incorporated in the every day life of an ordinary citizen, whether they be irreligious or religious, and how christofacism becomes more popular.

I'm not the type to brag about being funny or whatever, but my friend sent me a TikTok about the tower of Bable (he's Christian) and I don't understand it because I've never read the Bible, so I replied "Sorry, I don't understand bible references, I'm not in that fandom." And I died laughing for like five minutes afterwards. He hasn't even replied.

Hiya! This chapter definitely intrigued me with the design and purpose of the city. Idk how exactly this fits in with current events, but I’m definitely interested in how we went from a well-populated angel civilization with ice cream to just The First doing his mad scientist experiments all alone. Especially since it seems like he’s at the top of the angel hierarchy. I really wish we could get his pov that way he could just tell the audience straight up lmao.
The introduction of the Tower of Babel is really catching my attention. God knows I have extremely limited knowledge on Christian theology, but if the name is not just for shits and giggles, I wonder why it seems like the angels were successful in returning to the heavens. If Irc, the tower being struck down leads to different languages amongst humans. So maybe in this case, it’ll lead to different species of the present??
Idk but I’m really curious to hear what you think about all of this.
Okay! I finally got around to the chapter! Thank you so much for your patience.
So... I'm not entirely sure how to feel about this chapter. We got a little progress so I'm happy about that, but again it felt like a lot of the chapter space was taken up with rehashing the same interactions we've been seeing. Character interactions are nice, and with being a monthly manga, you have the luxury of panel space for them, but it just feels like the last... 5? chapters have had an abundance of them. Still though... we got progress so I'm not really upset with the chapter or anything.
Anywho, yeah! The city was interesting. I actually wish that if we weren't going to get a ton of progress this chapter that we would have at least gotten a better feel for the city. We kinda just got "it's a city, it has ice cream, and there's a building called the Tower of Babel. That's nice, but none of that really gives me much of an impression of the city itself. ...That being said, I'm glad it wasn't just a chapter of exploring the city with no payoff so. You know, maybe I'm just being difficult LOL Quick side note, but sometimes I've wondered how OnS would be as a novel instead and this is one of those moments. In a novel, you can put a few lines of description of the city and let the reader fill in the details, but with a manga, what you see is kinda what you get? Not trying to bash Kagami or Yamamoto at all. It's just a feeling of 'we probably would have gotten a bit more about the city had this been a novel instead of a manga'. Word space in a novel is way less than panel space in a manga after all.
Given that the First is also seemingly revisiting his past memories, maybe we will get some of his perspective on things! I lean towards doubt on that, but I don't think it's impossible. Either way, I'm sure we'll get to see at least a little of what the First was up to back then soon... right? Right?? Lmao please don't make me wrong on this.
I'm in the same boat as you anon and know virtually nothing about Christian theology. When they said Tower of Babel, I just thought "that sure is a Christan thing I recognize the name of" and knew nothing else. Now that you say all that though, that does sound super familiar, so I probably knew that at some point? You bring up a good question though. Thinking back on the other imagery we've gotten, I think nods to Christian theology have been relatively loose, like the trumpets of the apocalypse, so maybe there will be a little bit of that involved? Like maybe the tower will end up falling in this memory and it will lead to humanity coming to exist? They don't seem to exist yet and that makes sense. Just had the thought of what if the Tower of Bable falling is what wiped out the dinosaurs? I think I'd cry laugh. Regardless, I am just as curious as you to see how the name will play into things if it does at all.
At the end of the day, I'd say the chapter was fine. Progress is slow but there's some progress, and the setting is interesting so far, so it's not like I'm not engaged. I just hope for more in the near future. The potential for some really interesting stuff is right there! I want the series to deliver.

Confessionaria Meryam, Oil on Cotton Paper, 10x20cm
Confessionaria to those who wish to speak their blame, the blessed Meryam listens.
Another lifted one turns their back on her, redeemed only in their mind. Her eyes close, fighting the fatigue of endless confessions. In search of wakefulness she inhales the heavy incense that burns throughout the cathedral. Awareness floods her senses once more, dust motes stab at her perceptiveness. Feeling the world's secrets a thought away, she wonders at the muteness of their bable.
Embarrassed by her own weakness she displaces her mind from the evil she can't help carrying, focusing instead on the complex halo behind her, before engulfing thoughts in silent contemplation. She readies her hand and with a gentle bow signals for the next sinner to approach; the burdened penitent lays their hand on her monstrous-delicate fingers, breaking their secrets into sand.
Listening with all senses, she notes the scent and palpitations that accompany what is said by those in need. Their dancing veins tell stories of nervousness and shame. But truth is in the river flow.
Meryam's centre of thought shifts inwardly, erasing reality. The mournful sobs of this poor soul reverberate within, causing a tight sadness. Her hand closes around the gentle digits of the sinner before releasing them. Their maldoings are now hers to carry. They’re free from burden so they can err again.
She blesses them in Mother’s name and lets them leave the nave.
As they turn their back on Meryam, tears flow. The wet lines dampen her black gown, but in the shaded enclosure of the Confessionaria, none notice. The area around her eyes darkens from coalesced stigma.
Inhaling the incense she focuses on the halo behind her, she readies her hand and signals for the next penitent to approach.
Gaius Helen Mohiam was on my mind throughout this painting. But needing a purpose in my world, the Enclave that exists in order to alleviate the burden of reality came into existence. Their members, attuned to the suffering of others. Empathy is a good word to describe them. They listen and forgive. Without shaming or judging. True christianity in a way.
Thank you for reading,
Sanctvs Daniil Abrëv

What is the essence of a real man?
This fundamental question serves as the driving force behind the movie's narrative, following the journey of Dali, a hairstylist and fashion designer, who struggles with the complexities of his identity as an effeminate and flamboyant straight man. His frustrations to the assumptions that is repeatedly implemented on him are clearly portrayed in the movie, as the actor Christian Bables did a great job in conveying his feelings on screen.
The film also briefly discusses the effects of generational trauma. Evident in Dali's father Jamie, who vehemently denies his son's straightness believing that he is only afraid of being judged for being gay just like he once was when he was younger. All of this stresses ultimately comes a head when Dali began to change himself, to prove to others that his a manly man.
As an audience member, I found this film quite relatable as I have firsthand experience with what it's like to have people constantly trying to put you inside a box. Although I am not a queer person, I still resonate with the movie's overall message of loving yourself for being yourself. I highly recommend watching this film, and hopes that other will have a great experience as I was.

Pagan parallels to Jesus with Dr. Robert M. Price (Christian Apologetics...
COMMENTARY”
The thing about Robert M Price is that, unlike James Taber, he was too young to be a draft dodger He was only 14 when the Selective Service began to shut down, so he never had to consider Military service
All the soldiers of the Roman legions were God Fearers more or less like Cornelius. The answered to the same higher authority as Cornelius that was defined by the Manlian discipline of of Titus_Manlius_Imperiosus_Torquatus who beheaded his own son for disobeying  standing order not to leave their post to engage in single combat for personal glory. They all knew Yaweh, Queen of Battle, the God of Duty.
In Matthew 8:10, Jesus discovered He was trying to re-invert the wheel.. He was trying to create a community of Servant Leaders as Priest in the redemption of Jerusalem from the blood sacrifice and Tower of Bable of Temple Judaism . In Cornelius, Jesus discover the military guild of repblican servatn leaders at the core of the Roman Praetorian Guards in the centurion. The centurions of the Italian Cohort in the Praetorian Guard became the new wine skin into which God poured the New Wine of Christianity with a unilateral covenant cutting ceremony in the Gospel of Peter that is, functionally, identical to the unilateral covenant cutting ceremony of Gensis 15 between God and Abram.
What is the probability that Pilate DID NOT send an urgent  intelligence report to Rome that compelled Tiberius to propose to enroll Jesus in the Roman Parthenon to the Senate, who rejected the proposal probably because of the execution of Sejanus. Word of the Resurrection went through the Roman legions like grass through a goose: by the time Pilate's intelligence report to Rome, the story of Jesus had reached all 30 legions  throughout the Empire.
The cult of Mithra was a front organization for the Roman Jesus cult of the Italian Cohort. Theophilus was the functional Bishop of the Roman Jesus cult and composed Hebrews as a finding of his analysis of the contents of what we call Quelle, the intelligence archive that was begun as a routine surveillance file on Jesus when He appeared above the Roman military horizon at His baptism and took over John the Baptist's congregation
As revealed by the Parable of the Sower, aproximattely 30% of the Hebrews responded to Jesus, spiritually, 60% of the Gentiles in the Galilee who are part of the 4000 he feeds and 100% of the  God Fearing soldiers of the Roman legions throughout the Empire.
If Robert M Price understood Hegel the way William F. Buckley understood Hegel, this would be apparent to him. The moral priorities of the US Army officer are Mission, Men, Self, which are the same priorities of the centurions  and the priorities Jesus was trying to instill in his Disciples., the values of the servant leader.
This is what Jesus means in 10 42Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
This defines the MOS of the republican servant leader: Mission, Men, Self.
Of course Pilate sent an  intelligence report to Rome regarding Resurrection. That report is basically Mark 15, the beginning of the written history of Jesus and the Roman God Fearers.
