Hagios Stephanos church. Tirilye / Trigleia (2) (3) (4) by Caspar Tromp
Via Flickr:
The Hagios Stephanos is the oldest still existing domed cross-in-square church that was so typical of middle and late Byzantine architecture. It dates to the 8th century. The church was once covered with mosaics and frescoes but have mostly disappeared since its conversion to a mosque in the 17th century by the Ottomans. Marble plaques and columns are still visible.
Tirilye was until the population exchange between Greeks and Turks in 1923 a predominantly Greek village. It is located on the Asian side of the Sea of Marmara.

Saw this at the church where I went to vote earlier this year and it makes me think that they're putting Jesus in a hippie MRI or something.
