Elementary, My Dear ~ *Kim Seungmin*
Tumblr media
Summary: There’s a reason you’re so good at murder mysteries. Besides, it also helps to have a Watson on your side; a position your boyfriend is more than happy to fill.
Pairing: Kim Seungmin X Fem!Reader
Genre: Angstyish Oneshot
Word Count: 1580
Warning: Mentions of murder, death, blood, knives, nooses, and a revolver. It’s inspired by Clue and so it’s a murder mystery. Also there are a couple hidden innuendos if you know where to look.
Masterlist
Taglist: @foxwinter @maeleelee @mxnsxngie @kpop-will-kill-me
The doors to the study flung open, causing all of the bickering inside to hush. Standing there was Seungmin and you, a triumphant smile on your face. Seungmin looked less enthusiastic, but still had a satisfied smirk on his face.
Minho crossed his arms over his chest. “And what are you two doing here?”
“They’re probably here to kill us.” Jisung mumbled, clutching onto Minho from behind.
You frowned. “No, we’re not the murderers. But I do know who did it.”
“Is that why you two were out scampering around the mansion while the rest of us were trying not to get killed?” Hyunjin snapped.
“We were trying to save you all, thank you very much.” Seungmin shot back.
As you nodded, you stalked towards the table everyone was crowded around before throwing down a bloody knife and noose. Felix and Jeongin scooched their chairs away from you. Changbin folded his hands, placed them in his lap, and looked away. Chan raised his eyebrow before nodding his head for you to explain what you were going on about.
“Before I reveal who the murderer is, I would like to present my evidence.” You explained.
“You mean besides the knife and noose?” Chan questioned.
Nodding, you continued. “My little Watson, also known as Seungmin, and I have been all around this mansion while the rest of you have been fighting like cats and dogs, gathering clues. In the end we have figured out who did it.”
“Who did it and how?” Felix inquired.
“And how did you solve it so fast?” Jeongin added.
Seungmin’s smile grew. “First and foremost, we examined the first body of the butler. As you all know there was one entrance wound and one exit wound. Obviously it wasn’t the knife or the noose, so it had to be the .38 snub nose revolver. The one to receive that from the blackmailer was you, Jisung.”
“Me?” Jisung cried out. “But I didn’t do it!”
“Of course you didn’t.” You assured him as you took off your gloves. “You have a weak stomach, which is why I’m surprised you haven’t thrown up by now.”
He sniffed. “I’ve been trying not to look at the “evidence” on the table, I’ll have you know.”
“Understandable.” You nodded. “So that’s why it wasn’t you. Not only did we rule out you, but we ruled out Felix as well. He was with you the whole time. The two of you were practically inseparable the whole time you’ve been here. Until now. This is the most space you two have had between each other this whole night.”
Felix and Jisung glanced at each other, before Jisung latched onto his shoulders, keeping away from the weapons on the table. Changbin scoffed and Jeongin snickered. Nevertheless, Jisung squeaked out, “So? That doesn’t prove anything.”
“You’re right again.” Seungmin piped up. “So Y/n and I went to check on the second body, the cook. Knowing she was killed by the noose, that was given to Changbin, we had our suspicions. However when we checked the strangulation marks, Y/n deduced that it was done by someone who didn’t prefer the left or the right hand, as strangulation marks tend to show. This person was ambidextrous.”
Felix gasped. “So that means, it was-”
“Yes, it was Minho who killed the cook.” You stared him dead straight in the eyes, but he didn’t flinch.
“But dinner wasn’t that bad.” Chan muttered.
Minho scoffed. “So? Yes, I killed the cook. But I did it under orders. Like Chan said, dinner wasn’t that bad. Besides, she was a good friend back when she still worked for me. Then she had to walk out on me like I was nothing. Who wouldn’t be mad about that?”
You nodded though you were still frowning. “After deducing Minho as our first killer, we knew he wouldn’t have killed her willingly. As part of your blackmail, you two were caught in flagrante delicto while he was dating his future fiance. The reason she walked out on you was to protect her marriage and his relationship. However, what she didn’t know was that he was willing to give up his now fiance for her if she would have just given up on her husband.”
Sighing, Minho nodded. “Yes, I would have. It pained me to have to kill her, but as one always says, it’s best to bury the past.”
“Not literally.” Changbin muttered.
“He has a point.” Seungmin stated. “Finally, Y/n and I visited the third body, the maid. There isn’t a person here, save for myself and Jeongin, who hasn’t been at least acquainted with her. Everyone knows the most famous call girl on this side of the country. She had three entrance wounds to the chest and no exit wounds. So it was the knife that killed her. That weapon was given to Jeongin, but as previously stated, he had no idea who she was. So it wasn’t him.”
“Of course not.” Jeongin mumbled, as if still trying to clear his name.
“It had to be Hyunjin.”
Hyunjin balked at your accusation. “And why, pray tell, was it me? As your little Watson as you call him said, everyone besides him and Jeongin knew her. Why, you yourself knew her as well.”
You nodded. “Yes, I knew her. But I knew her a lot better than everyone here, even you. And she told me all the stories about you. About how much she loved you and told you every time she saw you. Yet all you did was lead her on before saying you were involved with someone else and you didn’t want to see her anymore. She was heartbroken. She was inconsolable for weeks. So when she saw you tonight, she was all but frozen.”
“I noticed that too.” Felix concurred.
“When you had left to go to the bathroom, Changbin made a comment about how long you were taking and went to find you. Afterwards there was a sound of a struggle and the next thing you know, she was dead. If my hypothesis is correct, she told you she loved you yet again and, under orders like Minho, you killed her, even though you were hoping to see her again to tell her you broke off your fling to be with her.”
Hyunjin paused, as if recalling the memory, before nodding slowly, still in a haze. “Yes, I did. I didn’t realize how much I loved her and wanted to take care of her until after I lost her. So I broke up with my girlfriend to be with her, but by the time I tried looking for her, everyone said she moved away. Seeing her tonight, I thought I had a chance. But no one can know about my relations with her and if I didn’t kill her, I was going to be exposed for what I did. I had to go through with it, even though it broke my heart.”
You sighed, before nodding. “Both Minho and Hyunjin killed under orders and I believe the rest of you had orders to kill as well. Anyone wish to share who?”
“I’ll go first.” Seungmin announced, turning to face you. “I was told to kill you.”
“I was told to kill Jisung.” Felix mumbled, making Jisung gasp and let go of him.
Clearing his throat, he mumbled, “I was told to kill the housekeeper. But I wasn’t going to do it!”
“My target was the cop.” Chan added.
“The blackmailer told me to kill the groundskeeper.” Jeongin mumbled.
Changbin sighed. “I was to kill the delivery girl.”
All eyes were on you. Changbin spoke again, “And you?”
You smiled. “I wasn’t told to kill anyone. I was just told to find the murderer.”
“And you did.” Minho huffed. “Besides Hyunjin and I, who was the blackmailer who orchestrated these killings? You said you figured it out! Who’s responsible?”
Chuckling darkly, you smirked. “Isn’t it obvious?”
“It’s you?” Jisung mumbled, practically trembling.
You scoffed, flabbergasted. “Wha-NO! I’m not the murder you imbecile! The murderer is whoever still has the .38 snub nose revolver. So, everyone turn out your pockets and reveal your true identity. Whoever has it killed the butler in the billiard room with the revolver.”
With a low, evil chuckle, the man at the head of the table stood up. Whipping out the revolver, Chan aimed it straight at you. “Very clever, little Sherlock.”
“BOO!” Jisung groaned, throwing his cards onto the game board.
“Yeah.” Jeongin whined. “Remind me why we decided to play Clue with the murder mystery writer again?”
Changbin shrugged. “I don’t mind the plot line she comes up with everytime, but she wins every time! It’s not fair!”
“And I would never kill anyone!” Chan cried out. “I’m not that kind of a guy!”
You pouted. “Aw, c’mon guys! I thought we were having fun!”
Minhoo scoffed before muttering under his breath, “It’s like Dungeons and Dragons night all over again. You take the story way too far.”
Your bottom lip jutted out further until Seungmin wrapped his arm over your shoulder. Kissing your cheek, he whispered in your ear, “I thought it was a wonderful story and a fun game, babe.”
A small smile wormed its way onto your face. “Thank you, baby.”
“Ew, get a room.” Hyunjin teased, wrinkling his nose.
With a laugh, you gathered up all the cards. “So, anyone want to play again? The game is afoot!”

Stucky Clue AU. Steve as Mr. Green — except the punchline isn’t that he’s actually straight, it’s that he’s bisexual. And Bucky as Miss (Mr.) Scarlet. Some rude assumptions are made about his line of work so everyone’s expecting a woman when Bucky walks in and introduces himself. Either Jarvis or Coulson as the butler. Various Avengers and other assorted characters as the rest of the guests. Wacky murder hijinks.
Please someone write this?

Clue inspired Max Phillips/Tim Rockford/The Thief Crossover Prompt! Pls tag me if you’re inspired by any of these ideas and I’d love to read it! 🕵️‍♂️🩸💎
When you were a child, your mother or father died under strange and unusual circumstances. The exact cause of death is still unknown. At the crime scene all they found was scissors and a glass of wine with lipstick on it. But no blood was found around the crime scene or in your mother’s/father’s body. She/He was completely drained. An anonymous individual tipped off police about the body.
Now an adult, you enlist the help of Detective Tim Rockford to solve the cold case. His investigation leads him to The Nowhere House - a centuries old yet opulent mansion rumored to be haunted. It’s said to be as mesmerizingly beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside, if not more so. It’s rumored to have a labyrinthine interior similar to the Winchester Mystery House that disorients anyone who dares to enter so that they can never find the front door ever again. It won't let you out but inexplicably offers whatever you need. There’s endless hallways lined with doors, each leading to different rooms such as bedrooms, ballrooms, libraries, etc.
There’s conflicting stories of the mansion’s history: Some say it was built by a wealthy man as a wedding gift for his new bride but she died under mysterious circumstances before it was finished. When the house was finally completed, her widower held her corpse in his arms as he entombed himself alive within the walls so they’d always be together in the house meant for them. Some speculate she was murdered, etc., etc. The stories are always contradictory and told differently. Nobody knows what’s truth or what’s legend.
You’re conflicted because you want your mother/father’s death solved, but you don’t want Tim to go anywhere near that dreadful place. “Detective, not to disrespect your job or anything, but I’d highly recommend against going near that mansion. The people who live there can…do things. Unnatural things. We’ve learned to leave it be; I suggest you do the same.” But a lead is a lead, and Tim must follow it, no matter how dangerous. It’s his job. He goes undercover to infiltrate a masquerade ball being held there. You’re stubborn and refuse to let him go alone, so you force him to take you with as his “date.” You and Tim mingle with the other guests and blend in. You play your roles and engage in eating and drinking, chatting, or even dancing if you must. You and Tim eventually split up to cover more ground.
While you’re snooping around and searching for clues, you open a door only to find the room empty. You suddenly get the feeling that you’re not alone as your hair stands up on your neck. You turn around and run into Max Phillips, one of the hosts for this evening. Even underneath his mask, you can tell he’s devilishly handsome. He’s charismatic and seductive when he smiles at you, his pearly white teeth glinting in the candlelight. He plays the part of a gentleman as he chats you up while drinking a glass of red wine. He corners you and won’t let you get away so easily despite your excuses to leave, so you indulge him in his flirtations.
Maybe if you keep him talking and distract him long enough, you’ll buy Tim enough time to find evidence. And It wouldn’t be such a terrible fate if you ended up in a closet or bedroom with this handsome man for a few hours either. You’ll do what you gotta do. He shows you around and eventually leads you to a special door. He tells you that this room has been locked up tight ever since the original owner’s funeral - the key has since gone missing. Over the centuries, subsequent owners and inhabitants of the mansion have always been warned that they’re not, under any circumstances, allowed inside this very room. Many have tried to break in, but all have failed. Some even went so far as to commit grave robbery. They dug up the original owner’s corpse and searched for the key, but contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t buried with him.
Tumblr media
You’re attached to Max’s hip and all is well at the party - until the lights go out and there’s a murder. Problem is, the one murdered is Detective Tim Rockford. Once Tim’s body is discovered, the mansion’s sophisticated security system activates. All the doors and windows are locked and shuttered, all escape routes are cut off. No party guests are allowed to leave until the culprit is found. You scream in horror as you find yourself in the middle of another murder mystery, but this time the detective is the victim. Now what’re you gonna do?
Unbeknownst to everyone, A thief broke in just before the commotion caused the luxurious mansion to go into lockdown. He was hiding himself amongst the guests and stealing their valuables right from under their noses, but now he’s trapped inside with all of you. Dammit. This heist is suddenly not going so well for him. The Thief’s plan quickly switches from "steal" to "survive". Unbeknownst to any of you, your host, Max Phillips, is a vampire. He may or may not have murdered your mother/father. He may or may not be Tim’s murderer. He could be guilty of one crime but not the other. He could be guilty of both crimes. There may be no crime at all. Later in the evening, you notice the key sitting in the lock of the forbidden room. What happens next? It’s all up to you.
(Maybe not everything is as it seems. Maybe there’s a much bigger, more convoluted scheme at play here. What if Tim isn’t actually dead and it’s all just an elaborate hoax? What if you, Max, and/or The Thief are all in on it as well and co-conspirators? If it’s all a hoax, why are any of you doing this? What’s your true motive? It’s all up to you to decide.)
