Hi I’m here to present you with another au but like, Shanks asks Buggy to keep an eye on Luffy and Foosha in general and Buggy acts like it’s a big deal but goes and he keeps at a distance at first. He befriends Makino first (She knows Shanks, and knowing Shanks asked him to show up sometimes as a favor to try check on them did a lot in terms of gaining her trust) and Luffy can’t help but run head first at dangerous individuals to try and pack bond with them. He starts dragging Ace and Sabo to meet up with his friend and it’s all great, Ace and Sabo think Buggys weird but tentatively trustworthy due to Makino liking him and Buggy fondly thinks Ace is feral and Sabo is a little too into arson.

They figure out Buggy and Shanks sailed with Rogers though, either through some drunk guys talking shit or Garp muttering about how he knew them when they were Rogers cabin brats and Luffy thinks it’s sick but Ace feels betrayed, as if the reason why Buggy has been around and cares about them and teaches them tricks has just been because of Rogers and Ace is just so mad about it until someone points out that Buggy didn’t even show up knowing who Ace was and he literally only knows him because of Luffy.

Idk if it be better if Garp like, came face to face with Buggy because Garps motivated by mysteries to me but I like to think they have some sort of agreement about it, Garp knows Buggy can handle himself and he’s not teaching his grandsons anything outright piratey, and Buggy is kinda afraid of Garp but he’s ride or die for the boys by then. They’re bonded by the mission of “what the fuck have the boys done now?”. Who knows maybe they somehow jointly acquire Koby too. (Buggy “kidnaps” him from Alvida, but it’s also a rescue. Garps involved because Buggy wants to make it abundantly clear that while he did steal a kid, it was for a good reason and hey, this one wants to be a marine. They’re coparenting with Dadan and Makino in the weirdest way)

I LOVE the AUs where Buggy is a parental figure to the ASL brothers (it's my headcanon that Buggy would be an actual good parent)

You know that favor had a lot of begging and pleading on Shanks's end, you have to know that. Bro, is pulling every card that makes Buggy feel sympathy... but it's more like 'Please stop, this is an embarrassing to witness' and Buggy does it.

Makino and Buggy friendship are something I really like when it happens, I wish there's more of this AUs. Luffy, Ace, Sabo, they are all feral and headcanon Buggy is too in some extent as well.

Don't worry Ace, it's not at all about you, it was Luffy that Shanks wanted Buggy to watch over. You were a lovely surprise for the clown, but Buggy doesn't think of you as just as the son of Roger. He knows that feeling of being in someone's shadow, so you are just Ace to him. Ace that likes to beat the shit of people with a metal pipe and your fists in the forefront. Don't worry, who you are matters more than who your parents are to Buggy and your siblings. (Rambling, sorry)

Red Haired Shanks - When he is in love with you

When he is in love with you, Shanks would be very devoted and attentive.

He would shower you with compliments, gifts, and be very supportive of your endeavors.

He would make sure to make time for you and would always be there for you when needed.

He would be very understanding and patient and would make sure that you felt loved and appreciated.

You had been living with Curly Dadan and the others for a while now and were content with the life you had created for yourself in the forest. You enjoyed the peace and quiet in the woods and the freedom to do what you wanted.

You were happy to have made friends with the other people living in the forest and were slowly getting to know everyone better.

It was during this time that you first met Red Haired Shanks. He was a mysterious figure who had recently come to the forest and he quickly caught your attention with his friendly and kind demeanor.

Every couple of evenings, Shanks would come into the forest to talk to you and you only. He would bring stories and news from the outside world, as well as gifts for you.

He would often stay until the sun set, and sometimes even longer, but he would always make sure to leave before it got too dark.

You found yourself looking forward to his visits and enjoying the conversations you had with him.

Though these days, Shanks had become more flirty, often teasing you and making suggestive comments.

He would always make sure to keep these comments light and fun, but you couldn't help but blush when he made them.

"What's wrong, love? Don't tell me you can't handle a little bit of teasing from me?" he would say with a smirk.

Just then, the infamous youngsters, Luffy, Ace and Sabo had come to your rescue and started telling Shanks off.

"Hey! Leave my older sister alone, Shanks!" Luffy would yell. "Don't you have any respect for women?" Ace would add. "You should be ashamed of yourself," Sabo would chime in.

Shanks would just smile and laugh, raising his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright, I was just kidding around," he would say.

Despite the scolding, Shanks would still be happy that the trio was looking out for you.

The trio quickly dragged you away from Shanks with worry in their eyes. "Are you okay, sis? You don't have to talk to him if you don't want to," Luffy said.

"We won't let him bother you again," Ace added.

"Yeah, you don't have to be afraid of him," Sabo reassured.

You tried to reassure the trio that you were okay and that Shanks wasn't bothering you, but they still lead you away from him. You couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed, but also grateful that they were looking out for you.

You looked back to see Shanks having a smirk on his face before bowing slowly and walking away.

He gave you a wink and said, "See you around, love."

You couldn't help but smile and blush a little bit as he left. The trio just watched in disbelief as Shanks walked away. . . .

Shanks raise ASL part 9

First - Previous

Luffy made his way to Makino’s bar. It’s was late enough in the morning that the villagers were milling around. When Luffy made it to Party Bar he was almost surprised to not see any members of the Red Hair Pirates in there drinking yet.

“Luffy! What are you doing here so early?” Makino greeted the little boy when she saw him walk in. She was surprised to see Luffy but it wasn’t a bad thing. She was more surprised that he was here without either of his brothers or Shanks with him.

“Morning Makino! Me, Ace, and Sabo went hunting this morning! We wanted to catch something for Shanks and the crew. Did you know we’re going with him!” Luffy told her all about his morning and his plan, full of excitement for the future. He did so without any thought to how Makino would react to him leaving with a group of violent pirates.

Makino to her credit wasn’t to surprised or concerned. While she wished Luffy would wait until he was older to leave, she always knew he and his brothers were too big for their sleepy island. And she knew Shanks would protect the boys with his life, no questions asked, the boys would be as safe on the sea as they could be. Garp won’t agree but he had lost this argument long ago, these three boys were made to be pirates, not marines.

Just then the door to the bar was violently thrown open. A group of rough men walking into the bar. Makino recognized their leader almost immediately.

It was Higuma. He led a rival mountain bandit crew to Dadan’s and he was not fond of Curly Dadan or her family. He also had a hatred for Shanks after the last time the red haired pirate was in town and drank the Party Bar dry. He hadn’t been back since and Makino had hopped it would stay that way.

“I heard those weak pirates are back in town.” Higuma stated as soon as he walked into the bar his men spreading out. “I thought we’d pay them a visit but it seems the weaklings aren’t here yet. All the better I’d hate to kill the red head in here and dirty your floors when he’s not alive to clean them up.”

Makino had moved to try and put herself between the man and Luffy as soon as he entered but she wasn’t quick enough.

“Shanks isn’t weak!” The little seven year old bellowed, drawling the bandit’s eyes right to him. “Don’t you dare mock him and his crew. He could kill you without even trying”

“Oh I remember you, you’re the little brat who hangs around with the pirates.” Higuma stated as he moved closer to the little boy.

“Hey boss, I think I’ve seen him running around with Dadan’s brat as well.” Called out one of the bandits. Makino cursed the man in her mind.

“Curly Dadan huh, well looks like we’ll kill two birds with one stone.” The man said before he back handed Luffy across the face.

“Luffy.” Makino cried out running to the little boy.

“Trash the place boys!” Higuma called out to his men. They cheered and started flipping the tables and breaking the stools.

Makino looked at the destruction occurring and quickly grabbed Luffy. “Luffy lets go.” There was no way they could stop these men.

“No Makino! They can’t do this!” Luffy struggled against her as she tried to get him out of the bar. Higuma saw them trying to escape and blocked their path.

“Now where do you think you’re going?” He asked as he reached for Makino. With a scream Luffy launched himself at the bandit.

“Go get help Makino.” He called as he knocked the bandit over. Makino hated this. Hated the idea of leaving Luffy with these men, but she couldn’t fight them. If she stayed then no one would come to help them. So she ran. Ran as fast as she could to Woop Slap.

Higuma quickly threw Luffy off of him. The little boy landed roughly, groaning as he bounced off the ground. Luffy started to push himself up but wasn’t quick enough to avoid the kick Higuma aimed at his stomach. Yet to Higuma and the bandits’ shock instead of the boy being sent flying by the kick, his body streched with the impact.

“What the?” Higuma cried as Luffy’s body snapped back to normal. He reached down and grabbed Luffy’s cheek stretching it out and letting it snap back into place. “Devil fruit.” He whispered in awe.

“Hey boss we could get a lot of money from selling this kid.” Called out one of the bandits.

“Ya I heard some Celestial Dragons were going to be visiting the island soon. Maybe they’d buy him. I heard they love exotic things.” Another tacked on.

Higuma smirked as he bent down and grabbed Luffy by the neck, picking the struggling boy up. “That’s not a bad idea.” He said as he started to lead the bandits out of the bar.

Luffy tried to struggle out of his grip but nothing was working, so he did the only thing he could think of. He spat at Higuma. The man paused wiping the spit from his face, huffing out a breath of a chuckle. Before he slammed Luffy into the ground. The little boy cried out at the impact. He started to push himself up when Higuma stepped in the boy’s head.

“I’m not going anywhere with you!” Luffy shouted at the bandit.

“You need to watch yourself kid, no one who’s made me mad has lived to tell the horrifying tale.” Higuma said as he reached for his sword.

“Wait stop!” Woop Slap yelled as he and Makino arrived on the scene. “I don’t know what he’s done and I don’t intended to fight you over it. If you accept I’ll even pay you for it but please just spare the poor boy’s life.”

“Mayor!” Luffy called out intent on telling the old man to stop.

“Sorry but this rotten boy’s already made me angry.” Higuma said as he drew his sword.

“You’re the rotten one!” Luffy yell back. Never standing down from a fight.

“And your a lost cause which you can regret in the next life.” Higuma said placing his sword at Luffy’s neck. Both Makino and Woop Slap begged him to stop. But everything stopped when they heard a voice behind them.

“I was wondering why the bar was empty on such a fine day.” While his tone was light and jovial his eyes were hard, trained on Higuma and Luffy. He learned a long time ago to act as though nothing bothered him so that his enemies couldn’t see his weak points, but with a sword at Luffy’s throat it was hard to remember that. “So it’s the mountain bandits again.”

Shanks had been tracking the boy’s haki all morning. He’d noticed when Luffy separated from his brothers, when he crossed paths with Mihawk, and when he ran into the bar. He had also noticed when the multiple dull presences entered the bar after his son had. He didn’t hesitate to get the crew together and head over there. Something was wrong. He knew it. If he was right, hopefully they would get to Luffy in time, and if he was wrong well, drinks on him.

But he wasn’t wrong. This lowlife was back, but this time he had attacked Luffy. He and his men wouldn’t live to see the sunset.

“Shanks.” He heard Luffy gasp out from around the man’s shoe. His fist tightened at the sound wanting to remove this man from his son as quickly as possible. But this was delicate as Luffy was too close to the man. They would have to be careful.

“Pirates, just now showing your heads? Have you spent all this time scrubbing the village?” Higuma taunted but Shanks ignored him. He wasn’t going to rise to a weak man’s bait, especially when said man had a sword tip so close to his son’s neck.

Instead he focused on Luffy. “Luffy didn’t you say earlier that your punches were stronger than pistols?” He made the question light. Luffy’s response would allow him to gauge how hurt his boy was. If Luffy didn’t respond or only grunted then his boy was desperately injured and they’d have to act fast.

“Shut your mouth.” Luffy responded with his regular fire. Good he wasn’t hurt to badly then. Shanks was still going to kill all of these bandits for even trying to hurt him.

Shanks start to calmly walk towards Higuma and Luffy. “Listen I don’t know what you’re doing here but you might want to leave.” Higuma obviously didn’t know who Luffy was to Shanks. Good that would make this far easier if he thought this was a stupid pirate butting in and not a father protecting his son. “You wouldn’t want something bad to happen.” The threat was empty. Shanks could tell, as Higuma’s sword hadn’t moved any closer to Luffy. “And I I have just the man to deliver the message.” Higuma finished his threat as one of his men swung his pistol to be level with Shanks’s head.

Oh. He was trying to threaten Shanks. He was dumber than he looked. But Shanks stopped moving forward with the gun pointed at his head. He wasn’t worried. He was making a point.

“I’ll blow your head off if I have to, but that’s up to you my friend.” The bandit taunted and the men around them laughed. Just as Shanks excepted, all talk. He wondered how many weaker souls had fallen for this bluff. He could see the confident smirk on Higuma’s face and the fear in Luffy’s. This was Luffy’s first time seeing Shanks and his crew in a fight. He understood the boy’s worry, but it was misplaced. After today Luffy would know not to worry in situations like this, would understand men like this were not a threat. Yet a part of Shanks mourned the innocence Luffy was about to lose.

“Would you risk your life?” Shanks asked not looking at the man, but hearing his noise of disbelief. “Now that you’ve drawn your pistol are you willing to use it?”

“What the hell are you talking about?” The man asked in shock. Shanks finally turned to look at the man, his face would be the last this man ever saw. He could see Lucky Roux starting to move.

“I’m saying guns aren’t for threats they’re for actions.” And with that statement, Lucky’s gun went off. The bandit dropping dead.

Shanks kept his head down, silently hoping Luffy could forgive him one day for introducing this violence to him. He knew Luffy had fought before, had rescued him and his brothers from the Bluejam pirates, but killing someone so coldly was different. It was a violence that would have touched his son eventually as they traveled out to sea, but to have it happen in Luffy’s home village felt wrong.

He could hear Makino and Woop Slap’s horrified gasps and Luffy’s shocked breath, but he couldn’t focus on them now.

“You! You’re a dead man!” Cried one of the bandits.

“These guys fight dirty.” Called another.

Shanks could feel his crew moving closer around him, offering strength, if you fought one Red Haired Pirate you fought them all.

“Dirty?” Yasopp asked almost sounding confused and affronted by the word.

“Who did you think you were dealing with?” Benn asked, picking up were Yasopp left off. “We didn’t claim to be saints or anything.” His statement meant for the shocked towns people as much as it was for the bandits.

“You fellows are staring down a crew of pirates.” Shanks said taking in the fear from the men in front of him.

“Shut up!” One called. “We just want the boy not you.” That was the stupidest thing he could have said to Shanks. As if Shanks would ever let them hurt his boy.

“Listen up bandits.” He somehow managed to keep his rage out of his voice, keeping it calm and collected the whole time. “Whether I’m sprayed with alcohol, doused with booze, hell even if I’m spit on, most of the time I’ll just laugh it off and forget about it.” His head snapped up to look Higuma dead in the eye. His voice finally darkening. “But if you hurt a friend of mine, you’ll pay for it regardless of your reason.” It was a true statement, Shanks would set an island a blaze for any of his friends, but for his sons, he’d burn the world.

And this man was still. Touching. His. Kid.

Higuma just laughed. “So we’re going to pay? Lousy pirates kill them all men!” He ordered as all the bandits screamed and rushed forward.

Shanks didn’t move as Benn step forward on his right, his hand already on his gun. “I’ll take care of this. Shouldn’t be a big deal.” Benn didn’t want his captain wasting his time on these lowlifes. Plus they had hurt his nephew, he wasn’t letting them leave here breathing. He drew his gun, his movements were faster than these men could track, lining up his shot and firing. The bandits hadn’t realized one of their own had dropped before his next shot was fired. He decimated the whole gang in under a minute, lining his gun up with Higuma’s head. “You shouldn’t get to cocky. If you really wanted to fight us, looks like a battleship or something bigger would have been more useful.”

The man stood there in fear and shock but Shanks ignored him, his eyes tracking to his son’s slack faces. He was ready for there to be fear in his son’s eyes but instead Luffy was looking at Benn in awe. A quiet “Wow.” Leaving his lips.

Higuma panicked, finally removing his foot from Luffy’s face. “Hold on it was the kid who attacked us.” He cried out.

Shanks wasn’t about to let an adult blame a child for their actions. “I thought you were a wanted man.” This man was dying today.

Higuma, realizing there was nothing he could say to save himself, let out a cry and threw something on the ground. The thing exploded and for a heart stopping second Shanks worried the man decided to blow himself and Luffy up rather than fight them. But then the smoke started billowing out at them at a rapid rate.

“A smoke screen.” He growled. What a coward. When then the smoke cleared Higuma was there, but that was expected. What wasn’t expected was that Luffy was gone to. “Luffy?” Skanks called shocked that his son wasn’t where he last saw him. For a second he hoped the boy would pop out, maybe he ran away from the smoke.

But when that didn’t happen ice filled Shanks veins again. His hand flew to the sides of this head as he yelled out, “Oh no I let that guy take him!” He quickly turned around to face his crew in his panic. One of them had to know what to do. “What are we going to do?!” He screamed looking at Lucky Roux.

“Boss calm down! Stop freaking out we’ll find him in no time.” Lucky Roux tried to reassure him. They all knew just how important Luffy was to Shanks. They also adored the little anchor themselves. They’d spread out and search the whole island for the boy if they had to. Higuma wasn’t getting away from them, and he certainly wasn’t going to take Luffy from them.

The Red Hair Pirates took off to search the town. All eager to be the one to find Higuma and put an end to the man who thought he could take Luffy from them.

Shanks was about to run off as well when Benn grabbed his arm. “Captain I know your worried but,”

“No Benn! I can’t wait I need to find Luffy now!” Shanks head was consumed by worry for his son. He couldn’t believe his first mate would be the one to slow him down.

“And is there anything you can do that might help you find him faster?” Benn said giving his captain a pointed look. It took Shanks a second to understand what his first mate was getting at. Oh, his observation Haki. In his panic he almost forgot. He sent out a wave looking for his boy.

There. He could feel Luffy being taken away from the village, but he wasn’t heading in land. No he was heading out to sea.

“I found them. Come on Benn.” Shanks called as he took off running.

“Right behind you Captain.” Been called as he chased after the younger man.

The Red Storm - Part II

Fandom - One Piece

Pair - Shanks x Reader

“Dadan!” you shout while opening the worn-down door of her house. “I got the kids!” Ace snorts and crosses his arms over his chest. “I’m not a kid. These two are. I’m their older brother.” You roll your eyes as Sabo kicks Ace in the back. Luffy ignores them both, runs to you again, and tugs at your shirt. You look down at him and see drool pooling at his mouth. “Where’s the food? You said if we’ll come back with you, Dadan will give us food.”

“Want food, do ya?” Dadan’s voice rings behind them. Sabo lets go of Ace’s hair at once and Ace puts Sabo’s hat back on his head. The two kids stand apart from each other and one can’t even tell that they were beating each other a moment ago. Luffy runs to Dadan and jumps onto her shoulder. “Oi Dadan! Where’s the food?”

The older woman grits her teeth and it takes all her strength to not fling Luffy across the room. Instead, she slowly puts him back down and lets out a loud sigh. “Fine, you’ll get your damn food! Wash the floors first!” All three boys complain aloud but one look from the curly-haired woman shuts them up and they begin mopping the floor. “And you,” she points towards you, “go fetch some booze from Makino. We’re out.” You nod and head to the bar. Ever since Shanks had left, you had stopped going to the bar. That place held too many memories of you two together. Usually, you would straight up refuse to go there but today Dadan was in a very bad mood. It’s better to not rile her up any further. And so you walk down the painfully familiar roads and finally reach the bar. Makino is at her usual place, cleaning some glasses. There are very few people in the bar than used to be. You walk over to the counter where Makino greets you with a wide grin.

“Hey! I haven’t seen you in so long!” she exclaims as she walks over to give you a hug. You smile and hug her back, already feeling nostalgia hit you. Oh, how much fun you would have with her and the Red-Haired Pirates!

Stupid Shanks! And his stupid crew!

“Makino, Dadan has asked for more booze. Do you have any for her?”

Makino put her hand under her chin and seemed to be in deep thought. “I don’t know actually. I think the new supply is arriving later. Will you wait till then?”

“I guess, I mean I don’t really have a choice. Dadan will kill me if I return without booze.”

“Good. Come have a seat. I’ll pour you something.” You nod and sit at your usual seat near the counter. Every now and then your eyes move to the adjacent seat, where he would be sitting with his arm around your waist, narrating his grand adventures. You close your eyes and try to get rid of those images but in vain. And so you resort to drinking the loneliness away.

Shanks enters the dimly lit bar, the familiar scent of alcohol and old wood greeting him, but it is soon overshadowed by the sight of you sitting at the counter, a glass of wine in your hand. The years have been kind to her, he thinks, as he makes his way over to where you are sitting, his heart pounding in his chest.

Before he can even say a word, you feel his presence behind you. I’m being stupid. He can’t be here, can he? Agonizingly slow, you turn around and gasp loudly, the wine glass in your hand falling on the table. His eyes meet yours and you feel your heart stop. Why is he here? How?

You stand up from your chair and take a step towards him. None of you say anything. Shanks stands there, waiting to see your reaction before doing anything. You take another step toward him but you lose your balance and fall forwards. He leaps forward and catches you quickly. "Hi," he breathes, his voice barely above a whisper.

Your hands ache to just wrap themselves around him but the disbelief makes them dangle uselessly by your sides as he holds you up. “You look so… so-“

“Old!” comes a voice from behind him. Your head whips around to see Lucky Roux laughing his ass off with a lamb leg in his hand. “Damn girl! You look like you’re a single mother of three!” he adds as he takes another bite of the meat. Shanks lets out a sound something between a laugh and a sigh and sets you back on your feet.

“And you look like you have drank the sea dry!” you retort back. “Did they kick you out of the Grand Line for causing drought?” He laughs again, clearly drunk, and Yasopp joins in this time. Shanks holds your wrist lightly and turns you to him. “Don’t pay him any mind. You look as beautiful as you were, if not more.” You smile at him and your eyes wander over his face, his handsome face you haven’t seen in years. Your hand automatically goes to his face and you run your fingers over his scars. “You’ve gotten more handsome if that’s even possible.” He smirks and runs his hand from your wrist to your shoulder.

“Get a room!” Roux shouts and then chokes on the lamb. You laugh at him and Shanks lets go of your shoulder.

Shanks takes your hand and leads you to your usual seats. The two of you sit down at the bar, talking and laughing as if no time has passed at all. After a lot of alcohol and catching up, you’re both sitting in silence, enjoying each other’s company.

"I've missed you," he says all of a sudden, his voice husky with emotion. You reach out and touch his face, tracing the lines and contours that you know so well. “I’ve missed you too, you dumbass,” you reply, running your thumb over his cheek.

“Why did you come back, Shanks?”

“I had to. We had left something valuable here. We couldn’t possibly go further without it.”

You raise your eyebrow at his response. “What exactly did you leave here?”

“You. I came back to take you with me.” You let out a gasp and shook your head.

“Don’t joke with me!” He intertwines his fingers with yours. “I’m not. I want you to go with us.”

“But…But you said that it’s not safe for me…”

“I know. And it isn’t. But I cannot function properly without you. I have grown so fond of your presence that I couldn’t even look after my crew properly. A feeling of emptiness kept nagging me. Just come with me, please.” His voice breaks at the end and you have to stop yourself from saying yes immediately.

“But Shanks, what about Luffy? He needs me, no?”

He nods and rests his head on your shoulder. “I heard his grandfather is looking after him. He’ll be safe with him.”

“I guess so but..”

“Do you want to come with me?”

“Well yes but how will I tell that to Luffy? Oh yes, you can come with me! He’ll be so happy to see you and he’ll understand you better!”

Shanks lifts his head and shakes his side to side. “I can’t see him. Not yet. We promised to only meet again when he has become a pirate captain. You’ll have to go say goodbye alone.”

“Meanie…” you mumble under your breath. He laughs and pulls you into his arms. “Sorry, it is what it is.” You huff at his reply and stand up to leave. “Fine you asshole. I’ll go say goodbye. I’ll meet you here tomorrow morning then, alright?” He stands up as well and nods. “Alright, love.”

And then, without another word, Shanks reaches out and gently cups your face in his hands, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. His eyes search yours, seeking permission and reassurance. Finding nothing but love and longing reflected back at him, he leans in slowly, giving you time to pull away if you want to. But you don't. As his lips met yours, it’s like a floodgate is opened. Years of pent-up longing and desire surge through you, and you respond eagerly, your hands finding their way around his neck, pulling him closer. His kiss is soft yet filled with passion, a gentle exploration that speaks volumes about the depth of his feelings. You could taste the sweetness of his lips, and feel the warmth of his breath mingling with yours. Every touch, every caress is like a promise of all the things that could be, all the moments you have missed out on. When you finally break apart, you are both breathless, your hearts pounding in sync. You look into his eyes, and in that moment, you know that this is where you belong, in his arms, forever.

What do you think of the Crocodad theory?

Personaly I dont belive it, but its because Oda seem more interested in found family than biological family so I think he rather tell a story how Curly hair Dadan is the mother of the ASL brothers more than a darth vader like reveal.

But it doesnt stop me from loving the theory, its a fun AU if anything. It would be hilarious if it did turn out to be true and all the haters having a breakdown because the very masculine man at one point was a pregnant woman.

Jhshshdh I think it's funny but there's just no possible way it can be true cause Crocodile knew his name was Monkey D Luffy, and the world knows of Monkey D Dragon - so why wouldn't the guy who shagged him and had a kid with him know like JDHDJD Crocodile would immediately pick up or question the fact if this is his kid if that were the case

One Piece Au: Dadan (Assaultron)

Curly Dadan (aka DA-34N) -> Hair and eyebrows are glued on, lights her cigarettes with her face laser. Rusted with a few bullet holes in her armor plates (uses a hole on her face to hold her cigarettes)

Dadan was previously enlisted within a NCR battalion before going rouge (gained sentience/ was sick of being treated poorly) and running away with a few other robots (they become the Dadan Family) They fled to the mountains in the Northwest of the Commonwealth (near Sanctuary). After spending a few years unintentionally acting as guard dogs for the settlers of Sanctuary (Sanctuary = Foosha village) when Garp arrives with baby Ace. Under the promise of taking care of Ace, none of the rouge bots would be decommissioned for desertion of the NCR.

One problem.....NONE of them know how to take care of humans, especially babies. The best they have is the logic of they know how to kill humans = avoid doing that. After a failed attempt of getting a Miss Nanny bot (the Scavenger they hired to find one, found one.....but destroyed it by accident) Dadan uploaded some of the child care subroutines from a broken program chip. (She isn't the only one to get a chip but her's was the most complete)

Ace is still a feral child but more tech savvy then in OP cannon (He glued on Dadan's hair and eyebrows, also likes to pull pranks on the bots by messing with their parts, but never their programing. After on instance where one nearly accidentally killed him due to a glitch) and meets Sabo in a scrap yard whilst looking for spare parts for the Family. They still steal from nearby settlements and raiders (Bluejam is a Raider Gang boss) Luffy joins them similar to cannon.

All three brothers are well acquainted with robotics, Ace knows most how to build/dismantle bots, Sabo knows most about programing/hacking, and Luffy knows how to trick or confuse their sensors and programing. However, due to their extended exposer to only robots, the brothers often forget to emote or misread facial expressions (Makino helps the brothers with more human things).

After the fall of Sanctuary (now called Merry) the Dadan Family becomes more involved in defending the settlement when the Strawhats are away. (They're still bandits though)

Im still trying to figure out a name for this AU, suggestions are appreciated

May do the ASL brothers soon.

This is random but I have a weird craving for dadan and luffy bonding or something along those lines

Sorry it took so long I was in a posting brain fart.

It had been a few months since Ace left to be a Pirate and Dadan was tasked to keep and eye on Luffy more often. She had no idea how Ace and Makino did it, he kept getting hurt all the time, she was tempted to lock him in the hut.

One day Luffy came back from hunting with a nasty gash on his arm and starting to look feverish. Them Luffy passed out.

"SHIT, LUFFY!" Dadan yelled "SOMEONE GRAB ME THE MED KIT AND COLD WATER AND A TOWEL!"

Luffy was asleep for the next two days, and Dadan was next to Luffy the whole time.

Luffy started stirring "hmm? Da-dan?" Luffy mumbled quietly. "Yea it's me kid, you scared the boys for a bit, how you doing?" Dadan asked. She will never admit that she was the one who worries the most.

"hungry, head hurts, miss brothers" Luffy grumbled wile scooching over to the curly haired woman.

"I got some food being made now and some pain meds for after you eat." Dadan lightly ruffled Luffy's hair. It had been a wile since Luffy brought up both of his brothers, he must of had a nightmare and she didn't notice.

Luffy leaned into her touch, and fell back asleep intill food was ready.

Having had a bounty of 300,000,000 before he arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy was one of eleven " Super Rookies", pirates who simultaneously reached the Red Line with bounties of over 100,000,000 shortly before the Summit War. After learning of this and his exploits against the Big Mom Pirates, the press has labeled him the "Fifth Emperor of the Sea", though many prominent figures consider this to be exaggerated. Luffy also has a penchant for attracting followers and has unwillingly been named the leader of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, consisting of seven pirate crews who swore to come to his aid whenever he wishes.

Luffy's accomplishments and heritage have caused him to be labeled as a "Dangerous Future Element" while in the process gaining a reputation for being "reckless" and, in some cases, "insane", earning the wrath of Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, the Marine Headquarters, and even the World Government. He either defeated or befriended seven of the eleven known past or present Warlords prior to the organization's dissolution, and has invaded the territory of two Emperors. Ace waves at the green haired kid who’s slicing through the air with one in each hand. It’s only when he turns that Ace sees he has a third in his mouth?

The swordsman spits it out into his hand, “You wanna duel?”

Ace’s eyes go wide. He’s only been out to sea for a week and he’s already being challenged?

“Hell yeah! Can I use my pipe?”

A smirk grows on the swordsman face, “You can use whatever you want, but you’re not gonna win.”

Ace matches his grin, life as a pirate was going to be great.

“You better have enough berries to pay for each tangerine you just shoved in your mouth.”

Ace turns at the sound of an angry voice behind him, kind of reminds him of Dadan when he and Luffy would steal sake when they thought she wasn’t looking.

“Can I pay you back later?”

The fire in her eyes rivals the color of her hair, “Later better be in the next ten seconds if you know what’s good for you.” And that’s when Ace notices the bat in her hands.

“Ah c’mon!” He whines, “That one didn’t even taste good!” He points to the odd red and orange fruit laying half eaten on the ground.

“That’s not a tangerine you dumbass!” She waves the bat around and Ace realizes she’s nothing like Dadan.

Dadan isn’t this scary.

“Alright! Alright!” Ace throws up his arms in defense, except is that fire coming from his hands?

“Get out of here!” She screeches, and Ace doesn’t need to be told twice.

“You kids are pirates?”

“What’s it to ya?” The leader of the three spits.

“Well I’m looking for a crew!” Ace says happily, “You tryin’ to join?”

“We already have a captain!”

“Yeah! And he’s way cooler than you!”

Ace frowns, cooler than him? Nobody in the East Blue is cooler than him!

“Oh yeah?” Ace taunts, “And just where is this captain of yours?”

For the first time since meeting the little punks they start to look nervous.

“Who dares try to steal away my crew!”

“Captain!” The three little squirts cheer as a long nosed one comes out from behind the bushes.

“Be gone pirate!” He pulls back a sling shot before launching a ball that explodes in his face.

And it smells like absolute shit.

“Ah c’mon!” Ace cries, quickly backing away only to fall onto his ass, “I just showered for the week!”

The sharpshooter loads up another ball, “Fear the power of my stink bomb!”

“Get him captain!”

“No one messes with our captain!”

“Alright, alright!” Ace cries, scrambling to his feet and running off. He knows better to engage in this kind of battle.

“Please.” Ace groans, stumbling into the restaurant boat way too late for it to be open, “So hungry.” But he can smell something delicious coming from the kitchen as he stumbles through the doors.

His mouth turns into a waterfall when he sees the various dishes lining the table. It’s like he’s in a trance as he reaches for the bowl of ramen. And he would have devoured it in less than a minute had it not been for the foot that sends him flying backwards.

“Who the hell are you?” The blonde man with a curly eyebrow looks down at him in disgust.

“Please.” Ace groans, rolling onto his back, “It just smelled so good and I’m so hungry.”

“Tch.” He pulls out a cigarette and pushes it past his lips, “Fine.” He all but drops the bowl on Ace.

“Oh wow!” Ace cries, the flavor filing his mouth and warming his belly, “This is really good!”

“Thanks.” The apparent chef says, already back to chopping vegetables.

“No really! What kind of miso did you make with this? It doesn’t taste like anything I’ve had before!”

“Oh.” He looks up in surprise, “It was a seaweed base, not too common here in the East- did you already finish that?”

Ace has the decency to duck his head, “Like I said, I was hungry.”

“Hell.” He mutters under his breath, “Here, you can have this one too.” He pushes forward a beef dish and Ace immediately digs in, “When the hell did you last eat?”

Ace smiles with chubby cheeks full of food, “This morning.”

“Well, aren’t you just the cutest thing.” Ace smiles at the little reindeer that standing beside a sleigh.

He glances left and right, double checking that no one is around.

“Now listen, buddy.” The reindeer cocks his head, “I heard this sleigh belongs to some kind of witch, and one of my crewmates is sick back on the ship.” Ace leans over, peeking into a bag of supplies, “I just need something to tide ‘em over.”

Bingo! Ace thinks, spotting a vial of liquid that he’s sure he’s seen in the infirmary.

But before he can reach for it the reindeer pops his head in, almost biting off Ace’s hand in the process.

“Hey! C’mon!” Is he really about to get into a fight with a reindeer?

But before he can think too much on it, the reindeer turns towards him and drops a bag on the ground.

“Is that, for me?” Ace glances down quickly and back to the reindeer who he swears gives a small nod. Picking it up he sees the bag is filled with pills that he recognizes as fever medicine.

“Wow.” Ace says, pulling off his sack to tuck the medicine away, “You sure a smart one, hell, you could even be a doctor one day!”

“Shut up you bastard! I don’t care what nice things you have to say!”

Ace pops his head up in shock, “Who- who said that?” He wildly turns his head in all directions, “That’s weird.” He mumbles, repositioning the bag over his shoulder, “I could of swore I heard something.”

None the less, he gives the reindeer a pat to the head and is off.

“Now that is a woman!”

Ace looks up in time to see the drunkard try to grab the ass of said woman, just to go flying from his stool and crashing into the floor.

His jaw drops. She didn’t even touch him!

And then her eyes cut to his and Ace feels his body go rigid and he swears he’s going to pass out too, because is she walking over to him?

“You look familiar.” She cocks her head.

“Uhh.” Ace clears his throat, sitting up straighter, “Portgas D. Ace, ma’am.”

Her lips quirk into a smile, “You’re the rookie from the East Blue?”

He nods his head up and down quickly, “Hey, uh. How’d you do that?” Ace nods at the man who’s still sprawled out on the ground.

“Quite the rookie if you think you’ll get answers on the Grand Line just by asking.”

Before Ace can retort she’s already turning on her heel but not before looking over her shoulder one last time, “I’m interested to see what you become, Portgas D. Ace.”

It isn’t until later that night that Ace realizes he’s missing almost a thousand berries.

“Woah! Nice tattoos!” Ace leans over the edge of the bar to examine the giant stars etched into his skin.

“Thanks bro!” The blue hair man (robot? Ace briefly wonders) says, “Did ‘em myself!”

“Really?” Ace’s eyes go wide, “Think you can give me one?”

“C’mon back to the house!” He pats Ace on the back, “And tell me what you had in mind!”

The house isn’t so much a house, as it is a workshop of sorts.

But Ace is pretty proud to say he hasn’t even cried yet and they’re already through the first letter!

“You sure you want it spelled like this, bro?” The robot man leans back with the machine buzzing in his hand, “It’s gonna look pretty funky with the S crossed out.”

Ace leans over to inspect his work with a small smile, “Nah, this is perfect.”

“Don’t see why we need this when they’ve got me.” Ace grumbles, stalking down the street of shops, “I’m the best singer there is!”

He had been forcefully pushed off the ship by his crew and told not to return without a few tone dials so they wouldn’t have to endure his so-called singing that was more akin to a whale’s cries.

Their words, not his.

“Bet they haven’t even heard a whale sing.” He mutters, poking at a few of the shells. One of them catches his eye and he plucks it from the back of the shelf.

It looks old but when he presses the button the sound of joyous singing comes to life.

Yo ho ho ho! Yo ho ho ho!

“See you found one of my antiques!”

Ace almost jumps out of his skin when the old shopkeeper appears behind him.

He carefully takes the tone dial from Ace’s hands, looking at it fondly, “Recorded this when I was just a boy. A group of pirates had come to the island and kept the whole town awake until mornin’ with their singing.”

“Pirates?” Ace asks, looking at the dial again as it continues to sing out.

Gather up all of the crew! It's time to ship out Bink's brew!

“Mhmm.” He clicks off the music, “You a pirate, boy?”

Ace’s eyes widen, “Uhh, you with the Navy?”

The shop keep lets out a deep laugh, “Just want to make sure this gets into the right hands. Here.” He pushes the dial towards Ace, “Make sure you and your crew do it justice.”

The bear blinks back.

Ace blinks again.

The bear blinks again.

“I bet you would taste good if you were fried in oil.”

“Oh.” The bear says, starring at the ground, “Please don’t.”

And Ace screams.

“Shit! You can talk!”

The bear looks up, “Sorry.”

Before Ace can scream some more, the bear is suddenly replaced with a heavily tattooed man.

But that just causes Ace to scream again.

“Shit! You are a person!”

“Were you threatening to eat my crew?” He scowls.

“Wait, are you not the bear?” Ace looks around confused, “Where did the bear go?”

“Tch.” He unsheathes his sword, “Give me one reason why I shouldn’t cut you up right now.”

Ace quickly erupts his fist into a flame with a smirk, “Think you’d quick enough?”

The tattooed man flicks his eyes between the fire and back to Ace’s face, assessing the situation. And Ace is pleased when he decides to lower his sword.

“Stay away from my crew.” He threatens before walking away.

“Hey wait!” Ace yells, following after the man, “I still want to meet the bear!”

“Don’t follow me.” He seethes.

But Ace just laughs, throwing an arm around his shoulder, “You got anymore animals on your crew?”
