So I watched the movie damsel or damsel in distress and omg I guess i have finally found one of the best movies that netflix have ever made. What a great story, what a great concept and omg what great characters.

I loved the character development of our protagonist and holy I got goosebumps in so many scenes. AND HELLO???? the dragon was talking?

Oh and I really really liked the design of the dragon. It was something new to me? Like it has it´s own style in my opinion. And how they built up the whole thing to show the dragon to us or how the story was built up in general. Like the plottwists were really cool. Two hours felt so short and i really could have watched three more hours. <3

So 10/10 i would say and a movie i would recommend.

Renfield is the best!

So finally got round to watching this film.

A film about renfield overcoming a narcissistic, controlling, emotional manipulative and selfish Dracula. But I gotta say...Nicolas Cage is living his BEST life in this film. You can just FEEL it.

Its bloody, the fight scenese are great and there's always a sprinkle of humour in just the right amounts!

Its actually FUNNY where it wants to be, there's a corrupt justice system, a kickass cop women who takes NO shit and she hold her own and she's never the damsel in distress.

And then we've got this asshole who, funny enough, I really enjoyed throughout the film.

The incompetent criminal and comedy relief alot of the time but just unstable enough to keep you on your tongues, cos you just dont know what he'll end up doing. (he's so erratic- and yes, that is a bunch of cocaine in his arms he's running away with)

Its great. Would NOT recommend as a family film due to all the exploding body bits/gore but its not GORE like bright red, its slightly off and takes off the feeling of overdoing it with gore. Its a great touch.

Renfields character has SO much development in this film, emotionally as as a person and I love that for him.

Its got so many messages in this film.

We're all human and mess up alot of the time. But to be better, to get past our trauma's we have to accept that about ourselves and slowly move past them.

What a film. I would 10/10 recommend you watch it. Its not gonna change your life, but I think it will certainly improve your day.

TBI is an album by the band the mechanisms which you can find wherever you listen to music (youtube here) its a norse mythology inspired rock/steampunk-esque album and it is SO GOOD- it takes place on a train in SPACE in the format of an incident investigation. its a story so you have to listen to the tracks in order :)

next up! this is how you lose the time war- our lesbians in this are called red + blue because we have deconstructed this trope to its most basic format at this point :') its a short book, and you may be familiar with it as it went viral from a trigun fan tweet a few months back. tihylttw is a story told through the exchange of letters between two agents on opposite sides of a war- it usually gets described as enemies to lovers but id personally use rivals as i think it describes them better. the book is known for being incredibly poetic and sometimes pretentious in its writing and i just think its the most beautiful thing ever. lesbians do it better

honestly theres nothing i could say for tihylttw better than it could say for itself, i just adore the universe theyve built and i want to KNOW MORE. i love you and i love you and i want to find out what that means together

saving the best for last is my girls angela + sera. the most of all time. nobody compares to them for me. they consume me

angela + sera are from marvel comics and you can find my complete reading list here, but if im talking about them positively, im usually talking about one of the titular Angela comics, and more often than not queen of hel.

honestly i love the angela comics so much that im making myself speechless trying to figure out where to start. Angela falls into the asgard side of marvel comics, though she is a lot more fluid in her affiliations, her whole thing being that she deals in deals- nothing for nothing everything has its price. she is at times described as emotionless and is generally quite a stoic character, especially around strangers. the major exception to this is her wife, sera. seras one of marvels few canon trans characters and i think she is just so wonderfully written. shes witty and cheeky and doesnt take shit from anyone, even when it gets her into trouble- and oh boy does sera find herself in some predicaments! the angela comics are often just as poetic as tihylttw for me, theyll drop an 'as long as you are with me, i am not afraid' and ill need to go smother myself in a pillow for a sec. in QOH they adopt a daughter who is Also a lesbian, shes an alternate version of leah of hel and i ALSO adore her.

im desperately trying to avoid plot points but god. the main arc is 21 issues of smooching Shakespearean space angels what more could you want?

(through sera & angela we get a lot of heven lore and honestly that could be its whole own thing for me im SO fascinated.)

I've decided that Montgomery and Cadfael met when they were young due to a longstanding tradition. Basically instead of just having a guard detail, the royal children would also be assigned a child guard. Partially to ensure the royal kid grew up with peers of their own age who weren't all idle nobility. and to ensure they had someone deeply bonded with them as adults to manage their guard and keep the royal safe.

But more so bc no assassin or kidnapper of a royal brat expects the Other brat in the room to have a knife and extensive training on how to use it.
