If your response to a show with healthy BIPOC representation is transplanting the BIPOC lead's personality onto the white antagonist to have meta and fanon discussion, allowing fanon that has the BIPOC lead turning to the slave trade and serial killing and constant irrational anger (while the white antagonist is turned much reasonable) to replace canon, not seeing any issue with in canon the white antagonist setting up the white romcom lead for execution and taking custody of the BIPOC romcom lead as reward, declaring that the white antagonist was just being "mean" when he said the BIPOC romcom lead was too openly gay and soft and needs to be more performatively violent to justify their continued existence, frantically agreeing with between-season-speculation that the white antagonist is going to have to "protect" all the characters from the BIPOC romcom lead's "rage", nodding along to takes that declare the BIPOC lead to be abusive instead of discussing what the show is actually trying to tell us, pushing takes that the BIPOC lead is definitely going to abuse (or worse) their white partner (and call them "the next victim") just after the season closes on the canon main couple's happy end scene, thinking that it just made sense for canon to break up the BIPOC lead's romance by handing their white partner to the white antagonist as a reward or to add the white antagonist to it, declaring that your ships with the white antagonist and the lead(s) are just as valid as the canon main couple in the romcom centered on the canon main couple and discussions on the ship don't need CWs in general chats, refusing to criticize this behavior in fandom (and thus tacitly enabling it) because the people saying it are on your "side", etc. is "Stop calling us/me racist! That makes us feel bad!" or "Ship and let ship" or "The showrunner/creator should've changed their story to accommodate our fanon because it means so much to so many!".... is the majority of the fandom "bullies" and making you feel "unsafe/uncomfortable/unwelcome" for getting tired of that and wanting distance from you?

AND ANOTHER THING. Say Ed did ACTUALLY leave and never come back (which he wouldn’t, because that’s his guy). First, Stede would be wildly depressed for months. Second, when he did reach a point where he could talk to someone about it, he would not open up to the guy whose name he struggles to remember and who sold them out to the English. He’d talk to Lucius. He’d talk to Olu. He’d talk to EVERYONE. It would be everyone’s problem. He’d have group therapy sessions.
The only plausible scenario where Izzy works his way into being Stede’s confidant is the whole grooming thing that has been discussed and that is indeed something that could happen, but even then it takes a major fucking leap for that to turn into a sexual/romantic relationship, given who STEDE is. More likely he would get further isolated and we all know what happens when Izzy tries to isolate and manipulates people.
Anyway, now I’ve grossed myself out.

Talking about Barbara Gordon
All the hate this character gets is just so stupid. A while ago (a long while) I was reading a Dick Grayson fanfic and the author decided to portray Barbara as an antagonist (almost a villain), I have no intention of limiting any author's creative freedom (do what you want with your writing, I guess), but SHE decided to explain herself immediately, she said she hated Barbara because of the comic where she cheats on Dick Grayson with Bruce and gets pregnant by Bruce, ok, did that really happen? Yes. Is that a good reason to hate Barbara? Nah, this is DC, do you remember how many stories have been written with these 100-year-old characters? I won't mention how many times DC has written the craziest things possible and then backtracker. And you can get all delusional and tell me "But she can hate the character for that, it's no big deal", ok, so let's pretend we don't know where this hatred comes from, shouldn't she hate Bruce too? Like the man who impregnated his own son's fiancée or girlfriend (I can't remember)? Why was this hatred reserved only for Barbara? This character has suffered many injustices, even from the writers themselves, do you really need to hate her for nothing?

its always transmasc or nb in fandom. you notice that right? never transfem unless they wanna use it for smut fanfic. thats why it’s disheartening for me.
a character could be amab and not feel right in their gender and then theyre hc as transmasc. then theyre afab and not feel right in their gender, then theyre still transmasc
ive seen so many blatantly transfem characters be called transmasc instead or nb. do you guys ever stop and wonder if us transfem people might want representation in fandom as well? sometimes it feels like other queerpeople feel the need to take that from us and i don’t want to feel like that but its what it feels like :(
ive seen plenty of characters with top surgery scars which is great but not a single one with e shot bruises
and if anyone wants to awknowledge the femininity then its to call them a femboy, which is derogatory and would be negating the femininity and sexualizing them as a fetish
then when characters like jason todd have characteristics that could be more on the feminine side we only call them “female coded” disregarding actual female characters but i never see “transfem coded” which would actually hold up very well if you turned that pain to power. but we never do because we weirdly see binary transfemininity as weak. we can never just let a character be a girl.
if you agree i urge you to reblog this with character(s) you think are transfem and why. rant on please. id love to read it. theres a lot of debate on if a character even needs a reason to be hc as trans but honestly it would compel me if there were actual things in canon that contributed to this idea. and to add to that people will be like “we don’t need reasons to hc a character as trans” and the second you say a character is transfem theyre like “theyre not transfem to me thooo” it’s crazy how the energy is different…

saw a post praising azula for conquering ba sing se when her initial orders were to capture iroh and zuko and at no point did ozai tell her to do that, but she accomplished it anyways…
like, we get this isn’t a #girlboss moment, right? azula successfully taking political control of and conquering a city isn’t feminist, it’s an act of imperialism, and it’s horrific. sure, she’s competent, but the things she’s being competent at are immoral and wrong, so.
it’s also a little funny that some of the same stans who praise her for this also try to justify her actions as a villain by claiming she’s just following ozai’s orders. which is it, then? is she a badass feminist icon because she successfully committed an act of imperalism without anyone telling her to, or is she someone who can’t be blamed for anything ever because she was “just following orders”?

I saw a person bugging you earlier that the Fallout TV show is bad because it “retcons new Vegas” well the showrunners and Todd Howard came out and said that’s not the case and everyone read a timeline wrong. So you were right that Shady Sands fell after FNV happened. Bunch of people fell for online false ragebait.
I'm glad they came out and outright said it and that I was right! Even if they hadnt said it until the release of season 2 or if they never said it, i wouldve still died on that hill, though.
I do not think that this info will change anything for the people who want to hate the show for whatever reason. If I've learned anything from this its that everyone stays lacking critical thinking skills when it comes to media and people are willing to be mad over every little thing.

So, just curious how many writers and creators will have to be forcibly outed by relentless harassment before we acknowledge that "This queer characters was written by a cishet person and that's why they're bad" is not good criticism.

Why is it that brainrotted fandom idiots will go "fandom is a space for FREAKS and WEIRDOS it's not your safe space 😡😡😡 if you don't like it you can LEAVE 😤😤😤" but then when someone asks them to stop treating black people in fandom spaces like shit they're all suddenly like "but ummmmm it's my safe space 🥺 the real world is mean and scary this is the only place I can go 🥺 racist harassment is my coping mechanism why won't you let people enjoy things 🥺"

okay there is a post going round about how izzy’s death means the writers are saying that only ‘socially acceptable’ queers get to have a happy ending
and first. what is socially acceptable about an entire ship full of pirates with diverse genders and sexualities and ethnicities and body types sailing off into the sunset while their two co-captains open an inn
and second. none of us are socially acceptable. ‘socially acceptable queers’ is an oxymoron. we see this every single day in the homophobia and transphobia that happens around us, that’s all over the press, that’s perpetuated by governments
you could be the most squeaky clean, socially acceptable, cishet passing, white male ordinary normal queer in the world and bigots are still going to call you a slur and try to deny you your basic human rights
if you think the show has stopped being groundbreaking because it killed off one of its entire cast of beautiful diverse queer characters then you never appreciated how transformative it is in the first place

Aight, bro. Why do people keep making merch of Angel chained up and such? Why? It's practically fetishizing his abuse at this point. I would love a concrete reason for WHY this is something they decide to do. If there is a good reason that isn't tied to it being "sexy" I'd looove to hear it.
And there go Viv eating this shit up and encouraging it. Ofc she would.
