I finally got to see Dear Evan Hansen this week after wanting to for 5 years, and I just had to make one of these little graphics for this quote which is the show’s tagline. I’ve loved it since I first heard it and now I love it even more after seeing the show. This story resonated with me so deeply on so many levels and I’m just so glad that it exists.

Thoughts on the new DEH UK Tour Poster:

Extremely pretty colors and interesting layout. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I like this so much more than the Broadway poster.

That said, uh...this is extremely not the vibe of the show. It looks much closer to a Be More Chill poster imo.

Ini post pertama aku ~

Salah satu teman dekatku did push me to make twitter account since i've got none in this legendary 2022, tapi aku malah bikin tumblr account ku untuk pertama kalinya, hehe.

I guess i just want a safe space for me to write as well as post anything i want to, hal hal yang mungkin random tapi gatau kayanya sayang aja kalau cuma kesimpen di memo handphone tanpa ada foto yg bisa dilengketin sebelahnya, karna aku; terlalu malas buat tulisan tangan dengan foto aesthetic yang ditempelin..kaya orang orang journaling gitu :" Jadilah tau tumblr ini bisa jadi tempat cerita cerita dari tika, my loveable co-worker yg literally satu angkatan juga tapi beda sekolah aja dulu. Kayanya ini safe space karena ga banyak orang yg aku kenal bakal baca, jadi ga malu atau ngerasa malu maluin :)

Orang orang commonly panggil aku Naura, mama adek dan relatives panggil lala, dan sekarang co-workers dan anak anak murid ku juga manggilnya lala, Ms. Lala.

Aku.. gampang ngantuk. Suka edit foto di vsco, suka denger lagu sambil nyapu & cuci piring, suka nonton drama, juga suka nulis ginian. Pengen nulis yg indah gitu loh guys dibaca gimana yaah tapi gapapa kita mulai dari yang random aja ya!

Aku juga lagi proses ngerti gimana sebenernya personalityku, tapi secara garis besar aku lumayan berpendirian. Kalau aku suka ini, ya ini aja. Kalau aku gamau, ya gamau. Bukan berpendirian juga.. kadang lebih ke stubborn WKAKA

Contoh kecilnya, dari dulu heboh hebohnya thread kkn desa penari, kayanya dalam satu kelas di sma aku sendiri yang gaada niatan baca ataupun mau tau. Kenapa? Ya gatau cuma gapengen tau aja. Sampai hari ini, kkn desa penari udah keluar di bioskop dan aku? Sampai sekarang gatau jalan ceritanya gimana karna ya gamau tau juga :")

Bisa dibilang, aku bukan orang yang mudah mengikuti/ter distract dengan apapun yang lagi trend/hype, karna itulah aku buat tumblr instead of twitter. Kalau difikir fikir, millenials mana yang gapunya twitter dimasa ini .-. Kayanya aku doang deh :") nanti deh ya bikin twitter kalau ada urgency lain mungkin ~~

Dan aku, lebih sering dealing dengan things yang aku suka 'aja'. Agak masih main aman.. karena yang aku suka itu dari dulu itu itu aja.. :")

Tapi juga menurut perspektifku, untuk hidup di comfort zone bagi seseorang tuh bukan sesuatu yang jadi barrier dari dalam/luar, tapi mungkin bisa form a kind of willpower to thrive dengan lebih nyaman, sebagai diri kita sendiri.

karena tadi ada yg bilang kegiatan curhatku di twitter bikin dia deg2an😤, yasudah mari kita nulis di tumblr aja🤗

this day i felt really empty, lost, and isolated, makanya tadi sore langsung keluar cari udara segar. pikiran semrawut banget😣 jadi tadi memutuskan untuk menumpahkan kepusingan dan kesemrawutan yg ada di pikiranku di atas kertas, sembari nulis2 kata2 di buku yg hari ini aku pilih untuk menemani aku krn ada beberapa pelajaran dri buku itu yg ingin aku ingat dan cocok dengan situasinya

salah satu hal yg tidak aku sangka: ternyata walaupun udah punya pasangan, ada beberapa hal di dunia ini yg tetep perlu kita dilalui sendiri, ngga melulu dilalui berdua, mungkin ini yg dimaksud kahlil gibran "stand together but not too close to each other"

hari ini banyak kebingungan, sebenernya yg paling penting di kehidupan ini apa ya? krn tadi aku scrolling2 kehidupan orang2 yg hidup di jakarta aku jdi iri krn aesthetic gitu wkwk, tp jangan2 itu bukan hal yg penting juga? jd ngapain iri?

Dear Tomorrow oleh Maudy Ayunda: Ulasan Buku

2022

Udah punya buku ini dari 2020, tapi nggak tau kenapa nggak tergerak untuk segera membacanya. Kemudian, tahun 2022 denger kabar pernikahan Maudy Ayunda aka penulis #DearTomorrow ini, baru deh tergerak untuk mengambil itu buku dari rak google play book punya gue alias yes i read the ebook version~

Jujur, gue sempat mengira buku ini, misalkan dilihat hanya dari cover, adalah memoarnya Maudy. Namun, #DearTomorrow ternyata lebih ke... semacam kumpulan esai personal yang membahas beberapa topik tertentu. Bagi gue, membaca buku ini kurang lebih mirip seperti membaca personal essay dari media-media luar.

Gue nggak bakal bahas secara detil isi buku ini, tapi simple-nya #DearTomorrow adalah catatan personal Maudy yang membicarakan seputar; apa arti jadi diri sendiri, apa makna mimpi atau impain, apa arti cinta, dan apa itu mindset. Kurang lebih empat masalah itu yang dibahas oleh Maudy.

Opini, pandangan, dan pengalaman Mbaknya yang dia tuliskan di buku ini, gue rasa cukup refreshing dan surprisngly lumayan nggak mainstream. Kayak... ternyata doi banyak kasih alternative point a view dari berbagai isu. Cara bercerita Maudy juga mudah banget dipahami. Selain itu, ada banyak quotes bijak dan foto-foto Mbaknya yang aesthetic. Serta, layout buku ini yang diatur lebih banyak foto daripada tulisan. Bagi gue, buku ini instagramable banget.

Ya udah, paling gitu aja kali ya. Akhir kata: menurut gue, #DearTomorrow ini cocok dibaca oleh para remaja, khususnya remaja perempuan. Bahkan ada satu bagian khusus di buku ini yang bahas seputar isu perempuan. Gue harap pembaca muda bisa sedikit banyak belajar dari cara pandang Kak Maudy yang mostly optimistic and realistic dalam melihat berbagai hal, dan bagi gue ini bagus buat anak muda.

Sure thing! In the first chapter of the novel, Evan complains to the reader that the first day of school "always feels like sensory overload," especially because of all the new information he has to absorb about everyone:

"New wardrobes, tech, vehicles. New hair styles, colors, lengths. New piercings and tattoos. New couples. Whole new sexual orientations and gender identities. New classes, students, teachers" (p. 11).

It's so jarring and out of left field after listing a ton of aesthetic, surface-level stuff...unless you think that other people's queerness is also aesthetic and surface level. My least favorite part is that genders and sexualities are the only ones that are whole new, implying that they're not just new to the individual students who just came out but instead, you know, recently invented. Over summer vacation.

It's not the most offensive part of the novel by any means. It's not even the most queerphobic part of the novel. It's just a moment that profoundly baffles me because it's so random and microaggresive, sandwiched in the middle of a dozen completely banal things.

Also, if you listen to the audiobook you get to hear that line read out loud by nonbinary gay Evan Hansen veteran Ben Levi Ross, who I imagine had some thoughts and feelings in the recording studio that day.

aesthetic

aku mau bahas soal Estetik dari sisi visual. ya betul kata estetik ga jauh2 dari sisi visual. entah itu foto, panorama, benda atau apapun itu yang bisa diliat oleh mata karena estetik adalah sesuatu hal yang enak di pandang. nah dari sisi design pun begitu adanya ternyata.

aku simpulin design yang bagus = design yang aesthetic sesimple itu? emang

yap. tapii, untuk menuju atau menghasilkan sebuah tampilan yang aesthetic itu diperlukan sebuah pemahaman dan taste design yang bagus pula. gimana caranya, tergantung jam terbang sih maksudnya gimana? gaada cara lain kah?

gimana sih caranya bikin design yang kalo diliat ga bosen, ga bikin sakit mata atau ga bikin orang awam pun jadi komen gituh, gregett liatnya.

karena dalam mendesign ada yang namanya prinsip design. nah aku baru bener2 paham dan sadar dengan aturan dalam mendesign ini setelah masuk ke dunia kerja, yang padahal udah belajar bertahun-tahun belajar soal Fundamental dan prinsip design. awalnya tuh bebal bangett pas belajar ini, seru sih iyaa seru, dan juga dulu tuh aku pakenya konsep belajar menghafal, bukan memahami, apalagi pas ada ujian ngafalin semua teori yang ada di buku. abis ujian kelar ilang deh semuanya. ga paham ga bisa bedain karena terlalu banyak istilah-istilah yang di pake, contohnya nih kek belajar warna, nah inipun di bagi-bagi nih perkategori, kaya warna tints, tones shades, hue dan istilah2 warna lainnya. konsep layout yang balance dan unity pun kadang ga bisa bedain. lanjut nanti lagii
