When I read about relationship with Rise!Donnie, I often see three types of his physical affection. In short, it's weak, comfortable and wild. I'm good with all kinds, but I also just love the wild one. I know Donnie doesn't like sudden touches and it'll definitely be "weak" at the first time of the relationship, but if you've been together for 2-3 years? Wild Donnie. Look, he's fanatical about everything he's into. He plays the game up to the first rank, he can't resist dancing when he hears the rhythms of boogie, he builds an airtight aquarium for a comic, he builds a bunch of fantastic stuff out of GARBAGE. And now he's into with you, his love. Add to this low self-esteem and a thirst for approval. He craves praise, craves recognition, and you (the most wonderful person in his life) give it to him regularly. The boy is dizzy. You are ready to admire him, ready to listen to him, even if you do not understand what he's saying, you are with him simply because it's him. He's - turtle mutant - the one you want to kiss and he will give it to you, he craves it. PDA? Better not. Let me remind you, he's fanatical, he'll only be stopped by external interference and if these are his brothers. Therefore, it would be better if he could hug you, bury himself in your smell and warmth, when you are somewhere in the laboratory, you'll not be interrupted here. And it's better not to know what will happen if one of the brothers breaks in during an attachment session. Not only are they not allowed to enter his laboratory without asking, they also interrupted him when he was enjoying the presence of his dove! Aggressive sigh. The clang of techno bō. Please stop him on this threshold of fratricide. In general, yes, you are the whole world to him. Your laughter is precious, your appearance is amazing, your presence is soothing and I will not talk about the smell again. I have a lot of thoughts about wild Donnie, this is the tip of the iceberg, and we'll get to that later, but that's it for now.

Notes: Dude Mutant Mayhem was so fucking good, so in order to honour the release of it here is some dumb thoughts I've been thinking of ever since I saw it. A second part may potentially be out soon but looking from a more angst perspective

⛥ Leo is 100% a fanfic reader and most likely writes stories about him and April. I think that it's all started because he found Donnie reading some about his favourite anime characters and got curious and asked him about it, to which Donnie went on for ages about fanfiction in general, to different tropes, clichés etc!

⛥Donnie and Mikey definitely seem like the type of kids who ended up on the wrong side of the internet as very young kids and found the most goriest shit ever

⛥When Raph was a little kid he found a plushie when him and his brothers were exploring the sewer. He deemed it cute but because his brothers were all teasing him over it he left it and then went out on his own to find it and brought it back to the lair. He tried to hide it and then cuddle it when he was feeling sad but one day Splinter found it and brought it up to him in front of the others, making him embarrassed. However, to this day it is still hidden somewhere underneath the covers.

⛥The guys secretly watched some super gory horrors one time after splinter said not to and they all freaked themselves out over it but they tried to hide it from splinter. When Splinter eventually did find out, he did things to specifically scare each turtle in order to teach them a lesson (which he heavily enjoyed doing). They'd always discuss the scenarios the final girl was put through and what they would do in that situation at night and then the whole thing about "freaky" stuff happening to them would be brought up...it took them a very long time to realise that it was just Splinter fucking with them.

⛥They all watched vines and quote them from day to day

⛥Leo loves to collect plant and flowers but when he brings them down to the lair they die within a week and he has definitely cried over at least half of them.

⛥Mikey is definitely the type of person to eat the world's nastiest food combos and enjoy it

⛥Mikey and Raph have constant bets over who can do the dumbest shit

⛥Leo always felt quite isolated from the group at times and it always made him feel self conscious and more different from the others.

⛥I think that Mikey constantly worries about his brothers and Splinter - especially Leo.

⛥Mikey, Donnie and Raph are the type of kid to lick the backs of magic stars and then stick two together in order to eat them

⛥ Leo is terrible with directions

⛥ Donnie and Mikey believe in the 'if you don't repost this video in (however long) you will die/get bad luck

⛥ They are all heavily invested in the yellow car game and Leo is always the one to get punched the most (Mikey and Raph are very competitive)

Donnie x Villian/Antihero!Reader Whos good with tech 

Warnings(?): Donnie being the “wabadubadubaduba” audio, mention of the situation with Leo and Karai (no, I don’t ship it), and I have seen the character but not Inside Job, itself. So if you meant personality-wise I’m so sorry 😭😭 I did my best.

Donnie didn’t have many flaws, the thought. 

One was hiding his feelings, and the other was handling stress. 

You, my dear, just happen to push at every button he has.

With how tech-savvy you are, he didn’t even try not to nerd out over you.

That was until his brothers scolded asked him to stop

If you take an interest in him/target him with your tech, he starts freaking out, begging for backup from his brothers 

He can’t stop overanalyzing the situation because of the stress

Blabbers about you nonstop once they defeat/escape you, talking about how he has to figure you out because you “won’t give up.”

Someone mentions him acting like how Leo acted with Karai.

BOY DID THAT GET HIM CRANKY

Hes yelling at them and won’t stop denying it until he’s like “here I’ll prove  you wrong!” And he draws a ven diagram of the differences.

As he’s writing it out, he realizes— 

There isn’t a lot of differences. 

There are big ones, like Karai literally being their sister, but not a lot of them. 

Leo suggests that since Karai realized her error, maybe Donnie should try to convince you!

Donnie mouths off to him about how the only reason Karai was good was because she was living a lie. 

Don storms off and Leo just watches him leave like o_o ( he turns to Mikey like “what did I say?” 

Donnie leaves the lair in a huff, and unfortunately for him, runs into you. 

After a thrilling battle, (him evading your tech while trying not to freak out about it) he starts off some banter, indirectly getting to know you— the brain he so desperately wants to pick.

Without thinking, he slips in a comment asking about why you would want to be corrupt with a brain like yours.

His reaction is different based on what you say.

If you ignore him with a sort of falter and try to change the topic, his interest is immediately piqued, he’s full of curiosity, now. There’s nothing stopping him from evading attacks when he knows you have something he wants. He shoves away the idea of his brothers teasing him over doing what Leo did, and just focuses on getting you to talk. 

If you give a chaotic neutral response, (“why not?” Etc.) He’s barely evading your attacks, trying to yell at you the millions of reasons he just came up with on the spot. Any way you evade his argument just makes him angrier, and eventually, he smoke bombs away, entering the lair even angrier than when he left it. 

Later when they fight you, he’s just trying to get it over with. He will deny the fascination he has with you and your tech, but inside he knows he wants to know more. Your banter throws him off, making some attacks hit him a lot easier, and eventually, he starts feeling a little warm in the face when he hears you talk

“I’m telling you, sensei. Everytime I think the shock factor will wear off, It just keeps giving me more symptoms!” He rants to Splinter, who knew exactly what had happened. “It seems to me, Donatello,” he muses, a hand to his beard, “It is a fracture in your mind. You should meditate on it.”

Splinter knows damn well what is going on, but doesn’t want to encourage “fraternizing with the enemy,” espECIALLY if that enemy shows little to no remorse for what they do. 

Donatello doesn’t know what else to do, so he listens. 

He sits, and he takes deep breaths, and he thinks about you and can’t seem to calm that fluttering ‘anger’ in his chest. 

You twisted him up inside, and it pissed. him. off. 

“Focus.. I just gotta focus!”

💋 - Kinky! DISCLAIMER: Ive always seen the rottmnt boys (and April) in the age group from 17 to 19 and thats what I headcanon them as (as it is my own age group!). Ive seen the show and was fucking sure theyre my age and then a month or two later I was slapped in the face with thier actual age lol. The 'Tism

• 💜 I think Its pretty fucking obvious that this boy is autistic, pretty much everything in the show supports this.

• ❤ Donny's headgear also works as noise cancelling headphones! He's often overwhelmed by background sounds and his gear makes it easier for him to live his life (either on missions or just spending time with his brothers and/or April). He still loves blasting his music on the highest volume tho. It's different when you consent to hearing your jams then when several people are talking at once and youre going crazy.

Tagging as kind of canon because he might have audio sensory issues because of his autism and you can reraly see him without the damn googles.

• 💜 He knows ASL! Though It's never said in the show why he learned it, I believe that because he goes nonverbal often. Everyone in the lair can sign a bit because of that, but not everybody is too good at it. Donatello can communicate in ASL fluently.

Gender

• 🧡 Donatello never really felt connected to being "a men" and categorising things as "for boys" and "for girls" always seemed dumb to him. Shortly after Leo's coming out as a trans men (SURPRISE LEO HEADCANON) he went to talk to him about his gender experience. After some thinking and digging, Don came to the conclusion that he is in fact nonbinary. He still uses mostly male pronounces but always appreciates gender neutral pronounces coming his way.

Sexuality

• 🧡 While realising his own gender he also figured out that he doesn't really sees gender that seriously in others either. Men or women, its pretty much whatever to him. He doesn't like to label himself much when it comes to his sexuality, he accepts reffering to him as a pansexual or bisexual.

• 🧡 When it comes to dating Donatello doesn't imagine himself with anyone, really. He finds himself attractive, but doesn't think anyone would fancy him in a romantic way. He's not interessted much in dating either way. But he doesn't exclude dating someone in the future. It's just he won't go out of his way to look for love.

• ❤/🧡 Its obvious Don is a men of science, he's a genius when it comes to coding, math, engineering, I would say chemistry as well. Thats the field he feels the most comfortable in, but he loves learning new things in general. As long as there is interesting knowledge he can obtain, he will be there, soaking it like a sponge. He likes listening to info dumps, and probably listens to long ass video essays and/or podcasts.

• 🧡 Don likes to learn about others people hobbys and takes interest in learning about it. He likes showing others that he cares about something, even though Its something totally indifferent to him. For example, he knows lot about art making process from Mikey (Angelo even made him paint with him a couple of times!) even tho he doesn't really likes drawing and/or famous artists. No many people appreciate his work so he wants to show his appreciation to others.

• 💜 He is pretty low empathy most of the time. It's hard for him to relate to others, and can often feel like someone is overreacting. It's also challenging for him to put his feelings "out there". Which often makes him look unloving or unfriendly. And it couldn't be farther from the truth. He loves his brothers even though they bother him most of the time. And he loves April as well (though she never really troubled him much). He never really thinks that his low empathy is a flaw (more often he thinks about it as a blessing) but there rare are moment when he feels helpless because of it. He is glad that his family knows that he truly cares about them (and accepts any effort he puts in to express his feelings, even if it seems small).

• 🧡⭐ I've seen people headcanoning Donny as a baker and honestly I like it a lot. Cooking is Mikeys domain, and it suits him well, as it allows a lot of freestyling and just overall feeling. Baking and pastry making is very calculated and one miatake can ruin the whole thing. It reminds Don of engineering in a sense. Also baking is an easy way to get love and appreciation from his family because, cmon, he just made the most angelic fruit tarts in the whole universe, of course they're going to praise him. It also works as a stress relief. When feeling stumped and/or overwhelmed over a project or a situation he'll make something easy like brownies to get his mind of it.

• 🧡 He's very sentimental. He loves receiving gifts and will cherish and use them (even if he doesn't like it). He still has every "gamers dont die they respawn" Tshirt and every "dont fuck with my brother he was born in october and has autism" mug. Sometimes he REALLY wants to throw something away but god damn it this is painting Mikey did when he was ten and is just five splats of paint and thinking about him somehow finding out and crying about it might destroy him forever.

• 🧡⭐ This bitch reads fanfics, thats it. It started when he was around 13 or smth with Atomic Lass x Reader and now he knows all the fanfic lingo. He still might read something from time to time and writes very long and well written comments (with constructive criticism).

• 🧡 Speaking of which, Don writes perfect sentences while texting. All the correct spelling and punctuation. He also communicates with emojis and gifs like a millenial.

Food, TW: drinking!

• 🧡 He has a rather strong head, you cant make him drunk that easily. But when it finally happens, youre in for a ride. Shutting him up is near impossible, he will talk non-stop but with much less eloquence then while sober. Its extremely easy to make him laugh, so Leo absolutely loves it. He often looses track of what hes saying and starts completely different rant. Overall a chaotic mess. Really fun to witness it at least once. His beverage of choice is either fun cocktails or beer (tho rarely and/or only with some kind of juice because he doesn't like the fizziness on his tongue).

• 🧡 And that takes us to Donatello that hates fizzy drinks. He hates carbonated beverages, no matter if its cola or champagne. The feeling on his tongue and in his mouth makes him really uncomfortable. When there is no other choice but to drink up some bubbless, he leaves it open for as long as he can to get rid of them. His brothers despise him for that.

• 🧡 He doesn't like weird food combos either and is rather picky. When ordering food Don sticks to what he knows not to risk an uncomfortable texture touching his mouth. Texture is the most often reason for him not liking a specific food. Donnys pretty strict to preparing food as well (the way he does a thing is The Correct Way and no other exception is acceptable). Also he puts milk first so his cereal doesn't get soggy.

• 🧡 I feel like he likes fruit juices in boxes and fruit mousses but this is pretty random 🤷

• ❤/🧡 He wears contacts! We've seen little Donny with glassess, so I assumed he wears contacts now. When he knows he will be spending all day in the lair (for example because of an injury) he still has a pair of glassess he uses. And yes, he tapes them to the head. Because he rarely ever wears them, he never came up with a solution for not having ears and needing glassess.

• 🧡 ABSOLUTELY hates smoking. Will go on a rant if he sees someone he knows smoking. He absolutely despises the smell and WILL take it out of someones mouth/hand and throw it away. Appreciates the fun smells of vapes but still hates them. Will call vapers losers (maybe not exacly in these words but he will for sure).

• 🧡 Really good at makeup, but not as good as Leo is (ANOTHER SURPRISE LEO HEADCANON). He spend years perfecting his eyebrows of course. He also wears eyeliner because serving cunt is important even on the battlefield. From time to time you can see his nails painted as well.

• 🧡⭐ While being flustered or simply distracted he stutters a lot, mostly in a way of repeating whole words or parts of a sentence ("Its good because- Its good- Its good because I um- Its good-")

• 🧡 Enjoys taking very long baths, and actually prefers them much more then showers. Can stay underwater for a rather long time as well!! Being fully submerged calms him down a lot and its overall very relaxing for him.

• 🧡⭐ Ive seen a lot of takes that without his battle shell, he is really flexible (due to having a soft shell). And I like the idea. I think, that before sitting infront of a screen (or a desk in general) to do his work for several hours he stretches deeply so his back won't be so sore later. Also a reason to draw Donny in yoga poses and thats always cool.

• ❤ Makes up shit to fuck with his brothers. Like just spreading misinformation and gaslighting them for shit and giggles. Or to get them to leave him alone for a while. Also will gaslight them if they somehow find out that he was lying ("what? you must have heard me wrong then 🙄💅")

• 💜/❤ Loves singing and dancing!!! Aint the best singer (tho I love his songs in the show Im kissing him as we speak) but is a gorgeous dancer! He finds it incredibly fun and feels fabulous while doing it. Also Im pretty sure dancing counts as stimming so add it to the list. Dances solo like 90% of the time but really enjoys dancing in pairs (dances with April a whole lot when they get the chance!).

• ❤ He rarely laughs out loud, but when he does it is loud and messy. A good joke can make him think about it all day and continue laughing for a long time. Not my og take, Ive seen this headcanon before and I love it so so much :3

• 🧡 From all his brothers, he kind of wishes to be human the most of them all. Its not a big big wish, he does think of himself as very unique individual and takes pride of being a mutant. But sometimes while hanging out with April he can get lost in his thoughts of "what ifs". Maybe in the process of making a cloaking accessory.

• 🧡 His handwriting is god-awful. All scribly and fucked up like Doctors writing. Unfamiliar eye would not decipher a word out of it, but Don knows exactly what everything means. But he mostly writes digitally.

• ❤ Dons dislike of hugging is canon, but I do believe he likes being touched on his head and face (head pats, cheek rubs, scratches). He enjoys hand holding when it's appropriate as well.

• 💋 Im headcanoning the boys to go through mating season once a year (except mikey cuz he small) everyone at a different time. It would be similiar to an ovulation but much more horny (with also fever symptoms). Don would be the second after Raph to get it. While in heat he doesn't go feral or anything, but after a few days stops working because he cant focus on his craft. Waves of sudden temperature changes (mostly high heat) with really horny thoughts and hypersensitivity to pretty much everything...yeah not the best work environment. He spends his  most intensive days closed off in his lab or room because he really doesn't want his family to see him like this (the rest of the turtles are in thier rooms during thier mating time as well for the same reason). Also add being possessive while having a SO, and also veeery easy to irritate.

• 💋 Donny takes on a more submissive role while being intimate, even though he loves to be in charge all the time. But he isn't a bottom either, I would put him perfectly in the middle as a switch (more leaning on that sub part tho).

• 💋 His biggest turn on is smell. Like someones natural smell, no perfumes and all. He likes to snuggle in the crook of the neck and take it all in. This becomes cranked up to eleven during mating season, as he absolutely cannot stop sniffing. Would love his significant other to leave him clothes with thier smell on it and sleep and/or snuggle with it.

Talked as soon as he had motor control of his tongue. Never stopped.

Would translate everyone's chirps to Splinter, but sometimes went nonverbal and felt guilty for not being of use. Insecurity born.

Learned to walk as a form of retaliation after Splinter put him in time out in his crib for hitting Leo on the face (homeboi was trying to eat a bug, Donnie was preventing it).

Taught Mikey how to walk in theory, explaining in great detail how he should bend his knees and what angle his toes should be to best balance his weight.

Attention-starved, cuddlebug with Raph because Splinter was depressed.

Couldn't talk when overwhelmed or upset, so never voiced his discomforts. Raph had to show dad what he could and couldn't eat, and how he liked to have his shell scrubbed.

Would babble at all times, most likely to Leo. Leo just giggled probably not understanding a single word. Donnie valued the support nonetheless.

His inside a box when touch aversion hit because he couldn't hide in his shell, which reminds me:

Had a whole meltdown when he found out he couldn't go into his shell like Mikey and Leo. Was only consoled when Raph said it was because big brothers didn't need to hide in their shells (Raph can't either). Brags about it since then.

Became Raph's biggest rival in pranks. Raph had Mikey, and Donnie standed alone because Leo fell for any prank ever, the dumb-dumb.

Was the one to convince Leo to speak for the first time.

Taught Mikey and Leo to read after dad taught him and Raph (Mikey wouldn't pay attention and Leo couldn't stand still with dad).

High pain sensitivity, feels every little thing with too much intensity. Is aware of everything going on with his body at all times.

His habit of verbalizing actions stems from that, actually. He is always mentally registering what his body is doing, so at times, especially with expressions, he verbalizes it because he isn't sure which functions are visible or not for people (had a phase where he would narrate every tiny action because he didn't know what was and wasn't noticeable).

Insecure about his place because no one seemed to take interest in what he had to say (it was too complicated for his bros. And even for Splinter sometimes).

Not good at predicting people's actions, but notices insecurities very easily.

Tried to write fanfiction exactly once. He was so horrible at it people thought it had been written by AI. That's when he had the idea for Shelldon.

It was to prove that he could make an AI that could write good fanfiction, and he succeeded. Shelldon's fics rock. But only Shelldon's, Donnie doesn't like other ai generated fics.

Befriended April before the others, was very possessive and jealous at first.

Splinter made him a makeshift lab that Donnie would come to upgrade to become what we see. Has the day memorized and quietly celebrated its anniversary (stopped after Shredder...)

(Splinter made it a point to organize his new lab in the new lair in the same exact day, and they celebrate it together ever since).

Had a LOT of crushes growing up. On fictional characters, of course.

Fast learner/early developed flavor of autism. Very impatient with his bros at the beginning.

Rise HC Raph, Donnie, Leo all have physical nervous responses.

Raph rubs his hands and arms raw, part of why he wears bandages. He peels his callouses and often makes small cuts he gets bleed from rubbing and picking at them. He wears bandages mostly for his punching and easier combat but also to ward himself away from picking at his raw skin

Donnie rubs and claws at his shoulders when it's really bad. But just with overall stress he chews the inside of his cheeks till they bleed. Half the time he doesn't even notice he does it till he tastes blood or he chews a tender spot and it hurts. He sometimes gets raw cloves to put on the spot to help, and Mikey immediately knows why he gets them.

Leo is the softest of the three. He scratches the back of his neck and his upper shell a lot when he's nervous. Also cracks as much of his body as he can. Mostly cracking his neck and hands though. Shaking them after popping them for the 40th time to the point they kinda hurt to do.

Synopsis: Random thoughts/headcanons I have about Donnie and how they'd be in relationship

Extras: 2016 version. I also headcanon him using he/they pronouns so that is why it’ll be switching from the 2 in this piece.

𖤐 Donnie can be such a sweetheart.

𖤐 They try their best to spend as much time with you as possible however he can get busy quite a lot of the time whether it be in his lab working on something which could potentially help whenever him or his brothers come across trouble, something for himself or something for you.

𖤐 Majority of the time when you guys haven’t spent that much time together, Donnie will let you sit on his lap and cuddle into him whilst he’s working on something.

𖤐 But if you’re both available for a date night, the evening would consist of either a movie night and cuddles, playing on video games and pulling off an all nighter or going up to the rooftops.

𖤐 They tend to overwork their self and pull off a lot of all nighters and you’d most likely be the only person who could convince him to take a break, get something to eat, actually drink water, sleep etc.

𖤐 On nights where he isn’t so busy he loves to go up to the surface with you and stargaze on top of some of the tallest buildings in the city.

𖤐 If your short (like me) be prepared for this 6 foot 8 mother fucker to throw a lot of jokes and teasing your way.

𖤐 However despite how tall (and noticeable) they can be, he sometimes accidentally scares you because of how silent he can be. For example if your in the kitchen by yourself and trying to get something out of the cupboard but can’t quite reach it (it doesn’t help that everything in the turtles lair is put higher than a usual person would put stuff in order to accommodate their height) he’ll just silent walk up to you and tower over you the ask, ‘Need a hand there?’ Can honestly scare you shitless so maybe give ‘em a lil punch as a warning.

𖤐 Donnie usually faces many insecurities like their appearance and how they ever managed to land someone like you…after all they’re a mutant turtle whose lived down in the sewers their entire life. Therefore he needs

𖤐 Although he prides himself upon it, his intelligence can also be a bit of an insecurity too. He knows his brothers value it greatly and it is a great attribute but he sometimes feels under appreciated in terms of his fighting skills and his way on the battle field and thinks that he is only needed because he knows his brothers can’t hack into cameras and security systems and deactivate bombs and such. He always thinks about whether his brothers would even need him if his intelligence wasn’t his best asset.

𖤐 They are 100% that type of person who would criticise every simple mistake made in a movie! Horror movies would probably be the worst because he’d go in for hours and hours about how they did the makeup/gore effects on top of whether they did the fake blood correctly and shit. God help you if you watch final destination with him…he’d go on and on about how some of the deaths would not be probable in real life.

𖤐 He is the 2nd worst out of his brothers for swearing (after Raph). Every time he messes up in an experiment or something along those lines he swears like a mother-fucking sailor.

𖤐 Is the 2nd most clumsy brother (After Mikey). He may ask you to help him tend to his wounds and patch himself up after he accidentally cut himself in his lab or after he’s been on patrol. This may not happen every time however as he’s been taking care of his wounds and others’ for a very long time.

𖤐 Likes having their coffee black - milk and sugar should be illegal in his eyes.

𖤐 Speaking of which, he'll drink enough caffeine to kill a fucking horse.

𖤐 Is a major drama queen when they want to be.
