It’s only because I have been asked what my plans for the future were so many times in the past few weeks that I’m now easily irritated by the question. However, it would be a lie to say that I don’t know what I’m going to do in the short term (which incidentally are going to be the summer months). Essentially, life goes on.

Priority #1 is writing my thesis.

Priority #2 is the job search.

Priority #3 are the exams I still have to take  (two economics one, two language ones) and although they look insignificant compared to the amount of exams I already did, I still have to study for these.

And then……… many other things which I never mention (because people don’t actually care, or because they are trivial in comparison)

Go to two exhibitions: De Pisis + Pre-Raffaelites

Perhaps see a psychiatrist (albeit there are two problems concerning this:it is contingent on me staying in Milan and I will not be & I had to spend the money I saved for this on blood tests and a new phone)

I have to be home for the majority of July because my mom isgoing who knows where and someone needs to look after my brother – besides household stuff and driving him to his summer classes, I’d like to help him get his driver’s licence and work on a coding project of some kind

hey anon! that’s literally what every american exchange student that I met at uni and my american tumblr friends have said about australia’s driver’s licences when I’ve bitched about them 😅. yeah, my theory with it is that politicians and other lobby groups really just don’t want young people to drive at all. and don’t even get me started on the cost of me getting my licence, not counting all the tests and license fees lmao.

some of the Ps laws are pretty fair though, tbh. the curfew between 11pm-4am thing was brought in while I was still in primary school..... because there were SO MANY crashes involving P platers crashing and killing all of their passengers and not themselves, or themselves and their other passengers, bar one that survived... by hitting trees off curves and stuff during the 11pm-4am curfew hours.

like as much as I hate saying it, statistically P platers have more crashes/general accidents anyway bc they’re new drivers and are still really learning even though they’re off their Ls. but the perpetrators are more commonly male rather than female and a lot has to do with speeding. also people are typically 17/18 when they get their Ps, and are on their full licence by 21. i was just super fucking slow with it hahaha.

like the one main example I have of the speed thing and P platers are stupid etc is one of my old catholic school friends crashed/rolled his car straight after he got his Ps in 2012 or 2013 (i can’t remember now) and cost half the cars worth ($25,000.... the car was $50,000.... fucking rich kids I fucking swear) in damage to it. i was super happy to find out that his parents screamed at him for it lmao.

but yeah. I totally fucking agree with you anon. it’s so bloody ridiculously complex here in australia. it makes the process of learning to drive and getting your licence so fuckimg stressful. like if i’d’ve failed my Ps/driving test last week, i would’ve just given the fuck up and not bothered with getting my licence anymore tbh. like one of the fucking dumbest things with getting your licence is that the hazard perception test/HPT (ie one of those bullshit computer tests that costs $48) DOESNT EVEN LAST FOR TWO YEARS or however long you may need to re-try your driving test. the results for your HPT only last 18 MONTHS. yes you read that right. 18 MONTHS. I was so fucking demotivated in may this year, when I realised my first round of the HPT had ran out..... that I almost fucking gave up learning to drive all together. like what the actual fuck is the point of learning to fucking drive and finally be fucking independent, if you’re just gonna fucking overload me with test after test after motherfucking test???? where at each level I got anxious asf???? how the fuck can’t people understand that that shit is fucking demotivating as all hell???? fuck off with your bullshit administrative box ticking. that’s literally all the HPT actually was/is. a bunch of fucking paperwork and admin bullshit. and they honestly believe that a passing computer test makes learner drivers “safer drivers” when they pass it. lmao fuck. anyway yeah, I’m so fucking relieved that that absolute fucking BULLSHIT is FINALLY FUCKING OVER lmao.

OH. the last few super important things I forgot to mention on the first post about licences and this one are that the blood alcohol limit (BAC) from learner to green Ps is zero (0). basically to keep everyone safe. but on your full licence is about 0.05 or whatever. also your driving r your parents car insurance goes up when you’re a learner and a P plater. and finally, there’s also now a zero tolerance of using your phone for maps, calling and texting while driving on your Ls & Ps. to use your phone, you have to turn off the engine and remove the keys from the ignition to not be fined. it’s getting fucking ridiculous tbh.
