Cheung uses a sorting algorithm to re-order the pixels of high resolution photographs of Rijksmuseum paintings to create distinctive new artworks that blend the real and the artificial, the past and the contemporary. The resulting "glitched" images create the illusion that the still life paintings are, as one art critic put it, "steadily dissolving into the digital sands of time".
