For centuries now coffee has been getting exported from East Africa to the other side of the Red Sea (the Arabian Peninsula) by traders. Today coffee has become a thing you MUST offer to guests according to local customs and traditions, along with dates as a side snack.

The most basic way of making traditional coffee in the region is boiling it with water for 20-30 minutes and adding spices, most importantly (and sometimes only) cardamom.

There’s so many types of coffee made in the Arabian peninsula, such as: coffee with milk and nuts, coffee with rose water, boiled coffee husks (cascara), light-roast (yellow) coffee with spices, sesame coffee, fermented black coffee, ginger and lemon coffee, unroasted green coffee. And so on. ☕️🫘

Junior year is bound to be a stressful time in any students life. There’s prepping for the SATs, choosing a prom date and…uncovering who the murderer running around East Highland is. Hoping that by solving the mystery she will finally be recognized as someone other than ‘Cassie Howard’s little sister’, Lexi must enlist the help of her academic rival, Fezco, who has been a thorn in her side since his former school merged with East Highland Academy before their friends or themselves become the next victim.

Chapter 1: there has been a murder

With Halloween coming up, Lexi Howard, a A+ student at East Highland Academy, is forced to give up a night of studying in favor of the first Halloween party of the season. After a tense moment between her academic rival, Fezco, the students are shocked to find out a murder has happened on the school grounds.

Chapter 2: don't you watch scary movies?

With Rue unwilling to join her in solving the case of the East Highland Slasher, Lexi has no choice but to accept the help of her academic rival, Fez. The investigation starts off on a rocky, and rather traumatic foot.

Chapter 3: I see hot people

East Highland Academy returns to school, but tensions are rising between friends. Without much evidence to find the murderer, Fez puts together interviews with the other students to see if anyone has anything of value to the case. The slasher claims another victim.

Chapter 4: be afraid, be very afraid

Fez reluctantly goes with Lexi to check out Nate's dorm for any evidence related to the murders. And later in the library, Lexi and Fez realize that they might not hate each other like they thought.

Chapter 5: we've traced the call...it's coming from inside the house

Lexi has a movie night with Kat and Rue where they come to terms with the loss of their friends and she accidentally finds out one of Kat's extracurriculars.

Chapter 6: our love is god. let's go get a latte

After a note is left in her room, Lexi decides that she is going to come face to face with the murderer on her own. And the East Highland Slasher causes chaos on Halloween night when they take another victim.

something i always notice when watching the christmas invasion is that when david tennant first steps out of the tardis and says "did you miss me?" it sounds so Lothian. not to fault his accent abilities, everybody in the UK can do several perfect english accents (bbc mind control), i just think it's kinda funny

I will never get over the fact that thousands of Armenians were massacred in 2020. The grief that has been left behind in their passing. The lives they were meant to live. I shouldn’t be seeing graves marked with the dates “2001-2020”.

These people were not killed in a war, they were killed in a genocide. They were murdered defending their native land against colonizers. Those who seek to use and destroy our land for its natural resources. Those who wish to see Indigenous populations destroyed or Turkified.

Armenians have been resisting genocide and Turkification since the Turks entered our highlands in the 10th century.

I understand the complexities of many Azerbaijani’s and today’s Turks being mixed with the indigenous populations of our region— including Armenians. However, that acknowledgment can only go so far when they choose to identify with the colonizing group, and commit genocide against indigenous people that resisted assimilation. When you choose to identify with the colonizer, when you take on their identity, you become them. You are them.
