Elim Garak-Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Qualifications:

He has PTSD due to child abuse, as well as a painkiller addiction due to a brain implant. He is also extremely gay. Like literally everybody who watches DS9 immediately understands this about him. He was explicitly played by his actor, Andy Robinson, as attracted to Julian Bashir, and his only heterosexual romance is truly painful to witness. Andrew Robinson has also said that he has had a one-night stand with Dukat, one of the main villains of DS9 and noted lizard nazi. Do with that what you will. His closest relationship onscreen by far is with Julian.

Propaganda:

This man. There is a reason so many people are obsessed with him. Former spy, current tailor, forever an incurable bitch. Guilty of many war crimes, including onscreen attempted genocide. Once intentionally blew up his own tailor shop (with him in it) because he didn't want to ask for help with something. In his very first scene on the show, he wears an shirt that strongly resembles a watermelon, propositions Julian Bashir, and leaves while canonically high on painkillers. He has PTSD due to child abuse at the hands of the head of the space lizard KGB, who is also his dad, and a painkiller addiction due to a brain implant he has to help him withstand torture. He tortures a main character in one episode, and then a few episodes later they start having regular breakfasts together. Once got high on Space Weed and started systematically murdering people while making ominous announcements about chess over the PA system. The Most Character Ever.

Anything Else?:

He once told Julian to eat his rod. It was about a futuristic USB stick (datarod) but he still very much said it.

Garashir Wedding Registry

Announcing the Garashir Wedding Registry, an ao3 prompt challenge collection for marriage- and wedding-related Garashir fanfics!

I got married a few weeks ago, and my wonderful friend @wanderingwriter87 wrote me a Garashir fic, a slight complication, as a wedding gift! My spouse saw how happy I was after receiving this gift fic and joked that we should have made a wedding registry that just asked for various fanfics, and I was like "...okay, hold on a second, that’s actually genius" lmao!

So! I’ve decided to use the occasion to humbly request/encourage some Garashir (well, mostly Garashir*) marriage fics from the fandom! (*My two most cherished cursed rarepairs, Sloanshir and Siskarak, will also appear briefly in the prompt list as well, so just scroll on by those prompts if you only are interested in Garashir lol. But, because of who I am as a person, my cursed rarepairs are actually always secretly Garashir anyway, so I've made that a stipulation in the collection too haha!) There is absolutely no pressure to write anything for this, I just thought it was a very funny concept to have fanfic wedding registry haha, so please only join in if it seems like fun to you! And despite the shameless self-indulgence of it all, I truly do hope this prompt challenge brings joy to not only me but to the rest of the Garashir community too! Garak Propaganda

Garak is just a plain, simple tailor and definitely not a spy, you get such fanciful notions in your head! The secret is that, well, he's not a spy...he just *used* to be, and is now kind of hiding from the government. The reason why is never fully explained, and while it may have been a crisis of conscience, he definitely was employed specifically for torture. And was specifically known as being  He's charming. He's a liar. He's witty. He's a firm believer the best way to shoot someone is in the back. He tortures one of the main characters and then they end up having regular breakfast dates. He gets infected by a disease that makes him a serial killer and he spends the entire time making chess metaphors. He blows up his own shop to spark an investigation. In the novels, he ends up dating a man who he once tortured and broke using nothing but eye contact, and becomes the president of his planet, and at one point while vetting his replacement, convinces her he's trying to have her assassinated because he cannot be anything but a sneaky bastard 100% of the time. 

Sinestro Propaganda

he's evil (wants order over the universe and uses evil to do so. recruits literal baby-stealing murderers for it.) and a gentleman because he's also like, kind of obsessed with order and still thinks he's above it all. talks about honour. has a shitty little moustache. acts like he's a sensible politician who enjoys his luxuries while also being a bastard extraordinaire.

If they weren’t gonna follow through with Garak/Bashir and were so hell-bent on giving Garak another love interest, it should’ve been KEIKO O’BRIEN. Bonding over plants and gardening!
