A Second Chance: The Steve/Tony Endgame Prompt Fest

Whether you took part in the exchange and miss SteveTony already or missed out last time and wish you joined in, this prompt fest is a second chance <3

The prompt fest will run from July 7 to December 31, 2023. There are no minimum work requirements, and sign-ups are not required: you can submit prompts and fill prompts as you please! 😊

Here’s how it works:

To submit a prompt, send it through our prompt form and it’ll appear in the Prompt Collection sheet for others to see (the form and sheet will be opened on July 7). You can only submit one prompt each time, but you can submit as many forms as your heart desires. If you aren’t sure what your prompt should look like, take a look at the sheet for examples or ask us for help!

To fill a prompt, just post it to the AO3 collection when it’s complete! There is no formal claiming process; just make sure to include the prompt number and/or quote the prompt you filled in your author’s note or summary.

Both the prompt form and the AO3 collection will be open for the entire duration of the event (July 7 to December 31). During this time, you can send in prompts, view prompts in the Prompt Collection, and post fills to the AO3 collection.

Rules & Guidelines

There is no minimum work requirement, and any work type goes!

When you post your work, please include the prompt number and/or quote the prompt you filled in your author’s note or summary.

All prompts and fills must be Endgame-adjacent. Canon divergence and post-canon are welcome!

All prompts and fills must center on Steve and Tony's relationship, whether romantic or platonic. Since this is a Steve/Tony event, we ask that you do not prompt or fill poly relationships involving them and others, and Steve/Tony cannot be a side ship.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate, as some prompts may contain mature themes.

The foremost rule of our exchange applies to the prompt fest as well: This is a Steve and Tony friendly event! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ We will not accept any character bashing or painting either character in a negative light. Any prompts or fills that do not respect this rule will be removed from the collection. Remember this is supposed to be a fun event celebrating their love!

FAQ

Multiple people can collaborate on one fill.

Gifting your fill to the prompter is encouraged but not required.

Combining multiple prompts into one fill is allowed, just remember to specify which ones.

You can submit and fill as many prompts as you want—there is no limit.

You do not need to fill a prompt in order to submit one, and vice versa.

Crossposts with other events are allowed as long as the rules of that event permit it too.

The collection will be unmoderated, so mods cannot guarantee real-time fill status updates in the Prompt Collection, but we’ll do our best!!

Steve and Tony are only gone for five seconds, but when they reappear on the quantum portal in a swirling pinprick of light, their hair is a bit longer, their clothes are rumpled, they’re gripping onto each other’s hands so hard their knuckles are white, and both of them, for the first time in as long as anyone has known them, look like they might be truly, wholly, blindingly happy.

Tony tears open his front door and stumbling towards him is the same face he still dreams about. He isn’t even wearing a jacket in this freezing cold and there’s blood dripping from somewhere on his body into the snow, and Tony can’t think. All their complicated history disappears somewhere and all he sees is Steve, hurt and afraid.

Nomad looks a lot like somebody Tony used to know, and if Tony were anything less than piss drunk, he would have known way before Tony even left Nomad’s mouth. He would have known as soon as those lips fell open and those shoulders tensed because the man in front of him might be able to fool everybody else with that mask tied around his eyes, but not Tony.

This will be the timeline for the Remadora Fest:

Prompting: opens 25 September and closes 25 October

Fics must be a minimum of 1000 words. All ratings permitted. If/when there are more mature topics, content warnings are a must.

All visual art is accepted, with the exception of AI generated images. No AI artwork or writing is permitted.

All works for the fest must be new and must be able to stand alone. You can add sequels or prequels as you see fit, but the work itself must be able to stand as its own entity.

But Rosmerta, how do you write canon-compliant fics about LBGTQ+ characters when there’s no explicit representation of that community in the books?

I’m glad you asked! TTB is a canon-compliant Discord server and therefore hosts canon-compliant fests; however, that’s not meant to be restrictive. Just because a character is not stated to be gay or asexual or nonbinary doesn’t mean they’re not! All that canon-compliance means at TTB is that the fic doesn’t alter canon events, including endgame pairings mentioned in the epilogue.

Here are some examples of LGBTQ+ characterisations and ships that would be considered canon-compliant by TTB definition (these aren’t prompts or an exhaustive list by any means, just some examples):

Harry, Ginny, Hermione, or Ron discovering bisexuality later in life (men and women being married isn’t inherently heterosexual, afterall)

A next gen character being trans or nonbinary

Asexual Charlie Weasley

Same-sex ships that don’t alter endgame couples; there are too many to list, but here’s a few: Dean/Seamus, Minerva/Poppy, Sirius/Remus, Lavender/Parvati, Katie/Alicia, Albus/Scorpius

Harry and Hermione having a conversation/realisation about Grindeldore

Everyone has their own slightly different definitions of canon-compliancy, so if you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to send us an ask or reach out to any mod. We also encourage you to join our Discord server (click here to join), which is active during and between fests with mini-events, writing chats, an HP book club, and general shenanigans.

Fest submissions will be due in late May and posting will begin on June 1st (see important dates below for more details).

What counts as canon-compliant?

Canon-compliancy has a broad scope and we’re not here to gatekeep! For the purposes of this fest, we consider the Harry Potter books 1-7 as canon and the “end game” pairings. The rest is up to you - for example, if you wish to write a post-Hogwarts story, you do not have to take Cursed Child or post-Potter interview information as canon if you don’t want to, but you should follow the pairings established in the epilogue.

Can I submit a multi-chapter?

You can absolutely submit the start of a new multi-chapter; however, you cannot submit a new chapter from an already published WIP.

Notes: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to each of my friends who let me go on and on about this fic while I was writing it. Especially to A, who acted as alpha and beta for every step of the way. Thank you to the mods at Lights Camera Drarry, I am thrilled to have participated and hope to do it next year too! This has been such a great writing experience for me, as well has having a community around for support and cheerleading. I had so much fun writing this fic, between all the research and the amount of times I watched Scott Pilgrim throughout the process. My biggest concern was maintaining the tone, so I hope I did it justice. Enjoy!!!

Summary: A year after the worst breakup of his life, some could argue that Harry is still struggling—dating his best friend's ex-girlfriend's sister. But when Draco Malfoy appears in a dream and then corporeally in front of him, Harry's life is turned upside down. All participants in this fest must be over the age of 18. No exceptions.

You can only claim one prompt at a time. If you finish and submit your work before the claiming close date, you're more than welcome to claim another prompt. Prompts are available on a first come, first served basis..

Guidelines

can we suggest making a prompt an ot3 as long it includes drarry? also any advice for a first time fic writer entering?

Hello hello! Thanks for the query. We had a little discussion about this in our Wireless board room and decided that we would prefer if the fest works centred on the pairing of Draco and Harry.

However if you'd like as part of the story for there to have been a past triad relationship you could specify that in the prompt. Or if you are writing for the fest, then you can reference past poly relationships no problem, or even have them as a temporary feature in the fic. But Draco and Harry as a pair should be the central ship. It doesn't need to be endgame Drarry (and if it's not, be sure to tag that), but the main THRUST (*sniggers*) of the story should be Drarry.

There are fests out there for those who love their OT3s! For example @hptriadfest and @dronarryfest. And possibly others, feel free to comment anyone who knows of any! I even heard whispers of a possible Drarry Plus fest being set up 👀

As far as advice for first time festing, we say read the fest rules carefully, reach out if you're not sure about anything, and most importantly have fun!!!

Kinda a Sense8 IronStrange Idea/Concept

Prompts: Sweets, Baths, Laughs

I guess sense8 au like it’s a thing around the whole universe. All the avengers and some other heroes are in a cluster. Also a canon divergence au after CW and like Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff lives cuz booo so basically a Not Endgame compliant au.

Avengers Cluster:

Clint

Natasha

Steve

Bruce

Wanda

Tony

And whoever the 8th is, you decide

Stephen is in a cluster with Wong and Mordo and whoever but like let’s make it so that the three of them are only ones left in their 8 person cluster.

Just imagine still MCU/Marvel but with the Sense8 lore mixed in. Also, let’s make the avengers around the same age, early 30s. Anyways, they all get “reborn” after that fight in CW, and so what I’m going for, is all of them experiencing what they all went through. All they know through the haziness of being reborn is that one of them needs help to survive. 

(I had this idea in the back of my mind that in this version of the MCU/sense8 world, since they can basically visit each other and use their skills to help each other, why not use their powers, so like Thor being able to use his lightning skills when he’s visiting the other’s body. So they can access Steve’s healing powers to heal Tony.)

Like again it’s not automatic instant forgiveness just cuz they’re connected. Like Tony and Wanda are still learning about each other. In the show, there’s certain people who understand what the other is feeling or who has an idea/view that might look out of place but the other somehow understands, they get pulled into their space and they share their view. Like I know that Marvel had Steve connect with Wanda, but like there’s this potential of Tony and Wanda just learning about each other and the truth, and this is me lowkey wanting a bit of Wanda learning to truly redeem herself instead of just pushing it away in the back of her mind. 

Thanos is still on his snap half of the population of the universe thing and stuff, of course, they still stop him, but on a shorter timeline. Anyways there’s another bad guy like Whispers, so maybe Hydra or Hydra adjacent,  who’s after sensates, but ones who are enhanced or control a suit of armor to deal damage and stuff. He hunts after the clusters who have powers and (TW: death) sometimes people in the clusters who have powers or stuff once they happen to make eye contact with the Whispers in this verse, kill themselves in a way that causes great damage to their head so they aren’t taken advantage of in death by Hydra adjacent Whispers.

Stephen, whose cluster is down to 3, Mordo, Wong, and himself, makes direct eye contact with Hydra-adjacent Whispers. He and Tony fall in love and both clusters work together to stop Whispers from getting to Stephen and Tony’s cluster and any other clusters with enhanced people. 

Anyways what ideas I have for this au is that one scene in the Christmas episode of Sense8 where Riley and Will are in the bathtub just enjoying the vibes that Riley tried to create so that Will isn’t stuck in whatever vibe he’s in cuz of Whispers. 

Once the clusters stop Whispers, every sensate breathes a sigh of relief cuz they’re not being hunted down anymore for their sensate and powers. Stephen and Tony cuz the clusters also need time alone with their SOs, go do their thing of reconnecting with each other physically, emotionally, and sexually.  Stephen and Tony do their own thing with the bathtub scene, but this time more relaxed since there’s no more Whispers. They’re having fun sitting in the water and just basically kissing each other all over their faces. They’re having fun feeding each other sweets making up for the fact they haven’t had time to enjoy because the stress from Whispers was so strong. What they’re feeling is also amplified since the clusters are also reconnecting with their SOs and just a huge feels fest and also going all NSFW.

Anyways after the experience with Whispers, Tony and Stephen finally learn to take some time for themselves and just relax and have fun. Their “self-care” days end with the two of them in the bathtub just feeding each other sweets and giving each other bubble hairdos and beards. If they end up having bathtub sex then that’s no one’s business but theirs.

Canon Divergence before S3: during the summer (while Blaine is performing in amusement park) Kurt and Brittana sing in Scandals (I don't know if it's legal in reality, but this is fiction so yes, it is). When Kurt and Blaine meet with Sebastian there, the trio have a performance. Klaine break up (Blaine didn't know about Kurt's job - because he wasn't listening when Kurt tried to tell him about it - so he gets mad, or "the parking lot" scene happens and Kurt breaks up with him, or something else), Kurtbastian is an endgame (they can go from Barely Enemies to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends to Friends with Benefits to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends with Benefits to Lovers - whatever you prefer). *** I came up with this idea while listening to Ke$ha's "Take it off". The picture I had in mind: girls start singing by themselves. The drag queens get some random guys - including Kurt - on the stage to take off their shirts and pose; during the bridge all of the girls are surrounding Kurt and by the end of it they tear off his clothes and he ends up in a costume that matches Brittana's attires. They finish the song as a trio. I would love to see what others will come up with and what songs they will use :D

Coming up, Marvel Cinematic Universe Month!

Oh, what a time it was in 2012 when the first Avengers movie came out! People discovered what the comics Stevetony fans had long known — Steve and Tony go together like peanut butter and jelly, coffee and donuts, marmite on toast. The movie launched thousands of fanworks, and we all remember the Tower fanwork days, where Steve and Tony bickered and fell for each other as the team threw movie nights and hoped that Steve and Tony would finally admit their love.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe covers the whole range of possible tropes like found family, pining, enemies to lovers, angst, and the ever popular fix-it works! So many great moments to explore and expand on — Steve and Tony coming together at the Battle of New York, the night at Clint's farm, the devastation of Civil War, Steve reuniting with Tony after he was rescued from space, and fixing the ending of Endgame (or not). And that's without mentioning all the opportunity to drop Steve and Tony into other settings and worlds; soulbonds, sports AUs, "and they were roomates" modern AUs, omegaverse, fusion works, and so many more!

There's plenty of material to work with, some great chances to imagine fork-in-the-road scenarios, and lots to love about Steve and Tony in the MCU — what inspires you?

But that didn't mean he wasn't into it.

“Early Onset” - Albuss  It's Halloween. Tony doesn't know that. It's not his fault.

“Mirror Mirror” - ralie  Tony and Steve stumble upon a cursed mirror that pulls Tony into its dark interior. Things might be simpler if Steve knew that Tony was Iron Man or if the key to getting Tony out wasn't something Tony wants to avoid at all costs, even if it means he stays inside the mirror forever.

“Puppet Master” - @nostalgicatsea​ Time flies when you're having fun or so the saying goes, but Tony can't say that he's enjoying himself if he can't remember any of it, even if the way that Steve looks at him now is everything he's dreamed of for years.

Mix an ancient artifact, incompetent cultists, and a way too curious playboy-billionaire-genius, and the Avengers are left with a problem that is weird even by their own standards. In which things go surprisingly well...till they really really don't.
