Thoughts on/during Mochi Mayhem? I'm curious. Especially towards the... memetic dance scene(s).
I LOVED IT!!!!
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet really put me in the "I wanna be a kid doing stupid dumb goofy things with my friends" vibes and Mochi Mayhem really delivered! everyone coming over to the player's house and hanging out at the start and the whole finding the remote mini quest at the community center really got to me. We're just a couple of kids doing kid things!!
Also the fact that Arven says Clicker like an old man means so much to me. We really are siblings.
SPEAKING OF ARVEN
He knocked it out of the PARK during Mochi Mayhem being just??? So funny??? Like, he's so pushy about being the player's one and only Best Friend
And he's so agro at Kieran over it to the point of ending the epilogue apologizing for it... But Kieran didn't even notice because he's so use to his sister being agro at him like that???
Also the fact that he has just enough control while mind controlled by Pecharunt to be embarrassed by the stupid dance dskgjdfjgjdfh Hysterical
There's a lot of other really silly moments that got to me very personally, like how much everyone calls out Nemona for being entirely too much, or just the implication that the three of them were hanging out without me, implying they've all become friends as well really gets to me
I don't like the paid DLC direction Nintendo is going in, but this is the best Pokemon Game post DS Era in my opinion, even if with the DLC it's more than double the price of a DS era Pokemon game with about the same amount of content...
But yeah! I really liked the Epilogue! I had a great time, I loved seeing everyone getting to have a fun time and being silly, I ADORE Pecharunt to no end, and am super happy to have Kieran back in the club room finally!

Things Ain’t What They Seem [gen]
Short, silly-ish ficlet of Sadie being exhausted from caring for a litter of puppies. Inspired by her actor helping with a litter of rescues earlier this year.
Dedicated to my friends at the Sadie’s Saloon discord and RDO hangouts. <3
-
Survivor.
Vicious.
Souless bitch from whence there is no escape.
Ain't no shortage to the names folk've called Sadie Adler over the years and, the way she rides - all caustic and cunning - there ain't no end to them in the years that'll come. Most of them names come from reputation, sure, but for all that reputation spreads far and wide, it's rooted firm in the truth that ain't no one that's crossed Sadie Adler that's lived to tell the tale.
Well, none that've escaped without scars, mental or physical, that speak to how rare their survival is.
Come hell or high water, the woman gets the job done and sees to it that none say otherwise.
Intimidating's the word that comes to mind when he thinks on it and John's seen more than his share've things to know there ain't no smoke'n'mirrors behind the reputation. Seen how she'll gut a man to keep him quiet, hang another to serve him right, and truth is there've been nights he lost shut-eye thinking to what'd happen if he ever crossed her - really crossed her, not just made her cross by taking the last cup of coffee.
All them things he's seen, but here he stands, staring at something he ain't never thought the terrifying persona of Sadie Adler could ever be found doing.
The woman's asleep, deep in the claws of it by the soft snoring that's coming from her, and that ain't wrong or nothing. It's the fact she's laid out in one of the stalls in the stable of Beecher's Hope veers towards odd, but the plum-in-the-pudding is the pile of seven puppies that have stretched and flopped across her, each of them asleep with tiny paws kicking in dreams and small noses snuffling.
Unplanned puppies’d been a suprise to them all, but the work that went into them? That’d been something Sadie took on and it exhausted her plenty, led to the impromptu nap he stumbled on here.
All-in-all, the scene's downright sweet and adorable, two things that he ain't sure anyone's ever survived witnessing of Sadie Adler. Makes him question whether ought to make his peace with living, because if she wakes and decides the world a better place not knowing that she can be anything other than murderously hard and efficient? Then he'll be out a life that he's come to mostly think's worth living.
"Y'know, this's your fault," he tells Rufus. "You went and got a girlfriend, had some fun, and now the puppies are here'n'she left you high'n'dry, huh."
The ragtag retriever blinks his big, brown eyes at him as though that'll make him feel sorry for the dog. "Nu-uh. There's only one pair of eyes that can change my mind and they ain't brown."
Rufus wuffles at him and his tail beats against the packed earth floor. John hushes him, ducks down to keep the sound from creeping over the barrier and waking the lady or the puppies. "You crazy? You ain't been a dad before. When the kids are sleeping, ain't nothing worth waking them."
The attempt at companionable advice goes in one golden-furred ear and out the other; all Rufus does is lean forward and lick a stripe up his face that leaves him sputtering - and trying hard not to make a noise in doing it. The dog pushes his luck, presses into his space and knocks him back, licking his face again and again. And this is why he ain’t a dog person!
Hell if John ain't seen not more than thirty second later running right fast from the outbuilding when Sadie wakes with a bundle of puppies and decides he's the one what oughta suffer for Rufus waking them all.

(Epilogue) - Fatum Faciendum Est
See AO3 for the fic
Even from the doorway, he could hear Pandora’s inquisitive voice as she chattered to her mother. At the age of 5, his daughter was curious about everything. An endearing trait at times, and at other times, Coriolanus almost wished that she was still a baby, for Pandora’s questions could get rather much.
Coriolanus didn’t understand why they were allowing Pandora to entertain notions of Santa Claus’ existence and other imaginary figures, but Clemensia had insisted. So he’d conceded, if just for Clemensia’s sake. Also, he’d never admit that it made it easier to purchase presents.
`
Stepping into the greenhouse, he followed the voices until he saw Clemensia taking afternoon tea with Pandora. “How are my two favourite ladies today?”
“Daddy!” A wide grin appeared on Pandora’s face as she hopped off her chair to run towards him. Her hands were stretched up toward him. “Up!”
Had he mentioned how demanding their daughter had become lately too? But he acquiesced to her demand, spinning her around to her giggles.
`
“And what do we say?” says Clemensia once Pandora is back on the ground.
“Thank you, Daddy!” She flashed him the same charming smile that was all Clemensia and turned back to face her mother. “Mama, I don’t want a new bike. Or a new doll. I want something else!”
“Oh? And what do you want?”
“A brother!” she says enthusiastically. “I want him to be this tall, with eyes like you, Mama. So we can match!–”
Clemensia coughed in surprise. Meanwhile, Coriolanus stood there and wondered if he should be insulted or not that his daughter didn’t want her hypothetical future sibling to have his eyes.
“– a sister would be okay too. I guess. But only if her hair is white like Daddy’s.”
“Blonde,” he corrects absentmindedly.
`
“Darling, that’s not how–” starts Clemensia.
“She can't have the same hair like me,” Pandora explains, like it was something that they should understand was of great importance to her. “So, can I?”
“I don’t think they’d get here on time, dear,” he says, trying to hide his amusement as he ruffles Pandora’s hair. “Perhaps for your birthday?”
“Really?” Her eyes widened at the idea, it was all too adorable.
`
“Coryo–” splutters Clemensia. That was a rather adorable shade of red on her cheeks.
He made a hum of agreement, focusing on Pandora. “Will you give your mother and me a moment alone?”
“Okay!”
They watched as she went deeper into the greenhouse – her dark curls bouncing with every step.
`
“Don’t go too far,” Clemensia calls after her. Once Pandora had turned the corner, she turned her attention back to him. “Why did you say that? Now you know she’ll be insistent on it.”
“But I thought you said that I should encourage her interests.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
He feigned surprise. “It wasn’t?”
`
“Oh you…” She shook her head, exasperated.
“Would it truly be so awful to give her what she asked for?”
Clemensia raised an eyebrow. “You do realize the stringent criteria our daughter just gave us.”
`
“You’re avoiding the question, Clemmie.”
“And you’re not the one who has to carry the baby to term.”
Touché.
“But let’s say I humour you, how would you go about convincing me?”
He grinned, knowing that she wasn’t entirely against the idea. “I can be very persuasive when I want to.”
“Prove it.”
`
A demonstration? He could do that. Pulling their daughter’s previously occupied chair close to him, Coriolanus sat down and leaned in, his hand reaching to lift her chin to give him better access to her lips.
Alas, before he can do so, the moment is shattered with a cry of, “Mama! Come look!”
Expectedly, Clemensia’s head turns, causing the kiss to land on her cheek instead. Before he can try to get a proper kiss, she is up and following their daughter’s earlier footsteps. “Coming!”
After a second or two, when it was clear neither of them would be returning anytime soon, he sighed and got up, following after them.
`
Foiled by his own daughter…
Who’d have thought?
