Reader who is suguru twin sister, who can't use Jujutsu but can still see curses, goes to a regular high.

An: got this idea when I was walk home from school. I bag was so fucking heavy it was almost 7kgs 😭

" suguru ~ where are you going?" The teenage boy with the sunglasses ask his best friend

" I'm picking up my sister from school "

" can I come along? " his face brighten having the idea seeing you again even though he just saw you yesterday.

Since they had nothing to do today because yaga-sensei was in a meeting with the the higher ups and other teachers, why not pick you up from school?

Every since you and Suguru came here in Tokyo you guys debate whether or not to rent a apartment . Since you go to a regular high school and Suguru to Jujutsu tech.

After a few months you decided to live with your brother in Jujutsu tech , because you barley go back to the apartment anyways and you guys can save up more money , even though you can't use cursed energy you can also do some side training with your brother and his friends

" where are you two going " shoko asked the duo

" we're off to pick up y/n from school " gojo answer with a beaming smile

" mind buying some refreshment on your way back? It's hot out here " shoko complained about the Suns heat

" sure "

You hear the crowd of girls say as you made your wat time the gate .

You sigh " why is it so damn hot today " you wipe the droplets of sweat of your face. Carrying your heavy bag you try to make your way out of the school. But the crowd of girls won't let you.

" excuse me coming through " you squeeze your way into the crowd but no avail.

" Suguru do you know which class y/n is?" Gojo looked at his best friends ignoring the girls behind them

" we are not allowed to enter satoru. Those are the rules of the school. No outsiders of other school are allowed " Suguru said looking at his best friend who lean back against the gate wall.

" what'a stupid rule. Honestl-"

" uhm hey! " their conversations where interrupted by two girls they both looked at her

" uhm we where wondering, if we could have both of your numbers " the girsl ask sheepishly

" sorry but I'm not interested " Suguru answered the girls then looked at gojo who still haven't answered yet

" welllll let me think " he taps his chin " hm I would like to give you my number....butttt I already have someone in my heart " the girls heart shattered and walked away feeling rejected.

" you could have straight up told them no " Suguru said to his friend

" what's the fun in that? "

" shattering a girls heart isn't fun satoru." Suguru said in a serious expression

" I'm sorry " satoru pouted earning pat on the back from Suguru

" excuse me , coming through " satoru ears purked up , hearing your voice from the crowd of of girls

" whoever it is must be totally super hottie, getting so many girls attention- "

" y/n ! " you turn around to see your brother and his best friend waving at you.

" oh I see why...." You deadpaned , so they where the who cause all the girls attention you thought.

" Suguru ~ " you wined calling out your brother which he just stopped walk and looked over at his shoulder

"Can you summon that flying stingray curse thingy, my bags heavy and I don't think can walk any further in this heat " you complained

" sorry y/n there's to many people " by people he ment the girls at your school, that's has been following the three of you.

" jeez can't they leave? " gojo said annoyed

" but my bag~" you wined slowly falling down dramatically until your on all fours

" stop acting like child will you y/n" your brother sigh help you get up by grabbing your school bag.

" come on hope on I'll carry you " gojo kneeled down

" really! Your the best! " you happily accept gojo giving you a piggy back ride.

" up we go." He lifted you , your arm around his neck as you sigh of relief

" what do you have in your bag anyways ? Stones ? "

" that damm professor said we had to bring those three big ass heavy books today and the audacity of him not showing up! "

chifuyu/kazutora/mitsuya/inui/wakasa he’s a cat person but he respects your pick in animals— he may try to acquaint them with cats and pray it goes well cause if it doesn’t it may be the end of your relationship. how can you guys live together if you can’t have both cat and dog!!? all jokes aside he eventually warms up to the dog and takes care of it like how he’d treat a cat.

takemitchi—/souya/hakkai/kokonoi literally scared of it like even if it’s not doing anything to him he’d just stay at a corner or stick to you his whole stay. the fear could take him to could drive him to a crying point. would probably end up having all home dates at his place.

your polaroid consists of a drunk, blurry selfie you took with your boyfriend when the two of you had one too many drinks.

he’s leaning against a brick wall on the street, struggling to light a cigarette. he’s got one leg propped up, the other fully out in the street, and his white hair is messy. he looks so grumpy too 🥹🥹

then, in the opposite corner, there’s you! your face is so zoomed in and blurry but your contagious smile ia still noticeable, through the crinkle of your eyes and very very stretched skin around the mouth from how hard you’re smiling (since the mouth can’t even be seen)

11/08 is considered Jikook day, esp in Korea & celebrated like a real holiday over there. Mainly because its Jikook who started it themselves. Jimin was posting selfies together with Jk on that day, even before Jk ever posted GCF Tokyo on that day. Both have made several references toward that date in particular, with Jk flat out writing 23:08 (11/08) in KST on his IG when Jimin was recovering from his surgery, as well as the cover of Hate Everything he posted when Jimin was recovering as well, where he cropped it at 1:18. Interesting he made two back to back posts references that date/time while Jimin was hurt/recovering. And he started his white day live at 8:11, where he spoiled Jimin's songs, talked about Jimin& randomly played There for you & brought up GCF Tokyo in that live and of course it worked & Jimin showed up, even tho he was overseas. Interesting coincidences. Regardless if you believe any theories, it is a date/time Jikook references & why its celebrated, but mainly celebrated due to GCF Tokyo being released on that day, which is NOT A MADE UP DAY. It's real & is still there for everyone to watch. Kinda sus how actual koreans go all out for Jikook on that day & funny that 85% of Jikookers are k-jkk. Businesses & civilians celebrating like its a real anniversary. Hmnn. Do they know something we don't?

At this point the cult is so desperate they've given Tk like 20 days & pray every year they come online on any one of them & reference it. They wanted Jk to say happy Taekook day, but instead he said, of course I went to Jimin's room and we hugged. Like him saying, I only remember this day because of what Jimin did. Too bad so sad. He really shit on both their days they celebrate. Their made up TK day & their fake private date. LMFAO. Savage.

Pairing: Keisuke Baji x reader (platonic)

A/n: Hello Ness, thanks for requesting, I enjoyed writing this even if it seems a little clunky. I gotta say writing on my phone on a long ass road trip is a little difficult but I hope you like it. Also in this everyone is alive and well. The kids in the story are modeled after my own niece and nephew, who I will hopefully see on this trip. Let me know if you like it or want more. My requests are still open. Anyway, remember to hydrate or diedrate, and have a good day.

It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend hanging out with my best friend Baji, but unfortunately my older sister decided she wanted an afternoon without her kids. Being the only one without 'important' plans, I was volunteered to take care of them for the afternoon. Being busy with a nine year old and a six year old I forgot to cancel my plans with Baji.

While trying to get my nephew to sit and watch a movie with his sister, I heard a knock at the door. I quickly ran to the door hoping it was nothing, only to be greeted by a slightly upset Baji.

"Oh shit, Keisuke I'm so sorry. I was in the middle of getting ready to meet up with you when my parents told me I had to stay home to watch my sister's kids and they haven't stopped running around since. I completely forgot to text you." I ramble out my explanation.

As he was about to speak my nephew ran up behind me grabbing my arm. "Y/n, Amara took the remote and won't put it back. She's trying to buy movies." The nine year old tattled on his younger sister.

"Sorry I have to deal with this, you can come in if you want." I said moving back to the living room and grabbing the remote from my niece's hand. "I will put on a movie and that's what we are gonna watch." I said turning on Frozen, knowing it'll keep the kids attention for at least a little while.

I then remembered Baji was here and turned back to him. "So, we can reschedule or you can chill here with this circus, it's up to you?" I asked.

He paused for a moment before responding. "I can help you watch them, it can't be much different than keeping Chifuyu and Kazutora out of trouble." Baji then sat on the couch next to my niece and started talking with her about the movie.

After finishing both Frozen movies, I got the kids a snack before they decided they wanted to play with some of the toys they keep here. My niece immediately grabbed a brush and butterfly hair clips from her little makeup kit.

She ran up to Baji with the cutest smile before asking her questions."Mister, could I do your hair? It's so pretty, like a princess." She was so sweet but knowing Keisuke isn't a fan of people messing with his hair I was about to tell her to find something else to do, when he spoke first.

"Sure why not. Just don't pull any out, get it." He said picking her up and placing her where she could get to his hair.

After about twenty minutes of My niece doing Baji's hair, she proudly announced she was done. Baji accepted the little hand mirror he was offering inspecting what had become of his hair. "I love it thank you, Amara, it looks wonderful. Don't you agree Y/n?" He asked, turning for me to see.

I held back a laugh as I took in what my niece had done to his hair. The longest part of his hair was in what looked like the best attempt at an Elsa braid my niece's little hands could manage, while there were also different colored butterfly hair clips throughout the braid and his bangs. "It really suits you Kei." I complimented.

At that moment my nephew then grabbed Baji's arm and pulled him to help him play a video game, saying something about it being 'his turn with Baji'. I smiled glad my friend was here to help me with these two.

Eventually the kids decided they wanted to sit at the table and color. Keisuke and I both seemed to space the fact that his hair was still in the messy style my niece had done. We also lost track of time because it was starting to get dark out and a sharp ringing blared through the dining room.

Realizing it was his phone, Keisuke excused himself saying he'd be right back. Only a moment later he walked in and explained he forgot there was a Toman meeting tonight and that the phone call was Chifuyu trying to figure out where he was. After saying goodbye to my niece and nephew he said a final good night and hopped on his bike to the meeting.

P.o.v change to the Toman meeting

As Baji arrived at the shrine he realized his hair was still in the messy braid and full of butterfly clips. He sighed as he decided the best way to prevent him tearing out his hair was to wait till he could take it down when he got home. With one last sigh, he made his way to the meeting ready to deal with the inevitable jokes to come.

"Nice butterflies dude, finally decided to spice up the look for once" Came the slightly teasing voice of Chifuyu as he noticed Baji had arrived.

The brunette just rolled his eyes and shoved the blonde's shoulder. Walking to his place towards the front of the meeting, ignoring all the comments being thrown his way.

When the meeting was dismissed it seemed all of the division captains decided to make their own jokes.

"I like the braid but the butterflies are too much. Maybe try a bow next time dude." Came Kazutora's jest at his best friend.

"Hook me up with your stylist, they did a great job" was shouted by Smiley as he laughed walking away with his twin.

Mikey even made a few comments about the look. But Baji just brushed the comments off, he had a fun afternoon sure it was what he had originally had planned but it was fun. The guys can make all the jokes they want.

skip to loafer chapter 55 general thoughts // spoilers

it's crazy to think that takamatsu-sensei would be able to condense all the points of what makes skip to loafer special in one chapter alone, but surprise: she did that, beautifully — as always.

like a hot summer night, everything about this chapter feels warm. I can also compare it to a hug. what I want to say in the end is that there's a lot of empathic points and moments on this chapters that brings out the best on sensei's writing and how she build her characters.

giving mika a chance to share her point of view right after so many chapters that focused so much on shima's struggles was a great move. the reason why I say this is because I can see mika as someone who's personality and character construction is very similar and linear to shima's. both of them have this scar of their past that keeps coming and going up to their adolescence and they are trying to find a way to surpass is — and both of their worries lie on loneliness, but a different kind for each one.

while shima fear loneliness as in disappointing everyone around him, mika feels it as in never finding a place she could really be who she wants to be. yes, she found a safe space with the girl group, but she still feels like she can't tell them everything, and I don't think she's wrong for that. even tho it's comforting and they make her happy, it's hard for her to really break this wall she took so long to build. it's not something you can change overnight.

and following this with nao connecting the dots from her past to present was amazing. that's because it was easily an introduction to nao's feelings about her hometown and all the pain she still feels in relation to it. even though she's living in tokyo with a new happy life, there will always be that teenage sitting on the beach, crying and feeling lonely in the back of her mind. by relating to mika's pain and loneliness, nao can finally find a way to put an end to what hurts her so much and make peace with her past. as i said before: she looks at mika and sees a second chance.

different from grumpy mukai, I don't think mika was in any way making that moment about herself. liking it or not, her crush on shima was the reason why her relationship with nao started, so it was the best way for her to make that bond stronger (and find a partner in crime).

now for the one!!! the one we never could imagine had thoughts: mukai! exploring a little more of mukai on this chapter elevates more the complexity of the scenes around them. and also, when he starts to think about mika's feelings and shima's complexity, we're transported to the beginning of the chapter, when mika is asking herself basically the same questions.

mukai realized how sharp and precise mika is, but something inside him still wants to deny. that's because she's "the type of girl" he thought he knew and didn't liked it, but now he's seeing a side from her that is challenging him on his own believes. it's a way for him to break a little out of his shell, to break from the stereotypes he once thought he knew.

there's a lot to come, specially because he's very curious about her — always had been. she's intriguing, beautiful and much braver than he thought she could be. for now, I'm happy that that's all that we have: a little "I notice this but I don't want to think about it" from him.

takamatsu-sensei relies herself on human connections, and here we are again, having the privilege to experience this. the whole chapter is a callback to relationships, bonds, the complexity of one another and our own. it's about connections, forgiveness, moving forward.

it might take time, but mika will find her peace sooner or later. I mean, if someone ever told teenage nao that she would be calling her boyfriend and inviting him to visit her hometown, do you think she would believe it? we're always moving on our own pace 💛

Long meandering ramble about isabeau under cut sorry idk what happened

Ok I wanted to expound actually I do think it’s really interesting how Isabeau isn’t like a “wishy washy” kind of neutral she is really serious and principled about it. Like when you fight her in law (and I assume things turn out the same in chaos, haven’t finished that playthru yet) if you extend your hand to her she takes offense to it + tells you to have conviction in the path you chose to the end despite her being so horrified and appalled by it that she would put down her life to fight you to prevent it from coming to pass.

And in neutral as well after you defeat Merkabah she expresses respect for him in seeing his principles through. I think it’s interesting that she has such high respect for this concept of commitment to a belief, even a destructive one + even when that the belief itself is so fundamentally morally repellant to her. So anyways this is where I get kind of headcanony right. But I was thinking more about this again

And yeah like she doubly has this thing of coming from a family that has always gone into the monastery as well as being a woman samurai (the level of rarity of this can be inferred by the fact that she’s like, the only female samurai npc iirc) that feeds into this right? Tho it’s conjecture on my part bc we don’t really hear her thoughts on any of this she’s already in this position of being like, an outlier, somewhere she “doesn’t belong” (as she apparently grew up expected to go into the monastery like the rest of her family- it’s a “loss” for the monastery) in terms of her place in the samurai. So I think that’s like .. where her position ultimately comes from. She grew up believing in the good of the kingdom like Jonathan but is in a position where she understands Walters feelings of being hemmed in by her society which I think just like is how I at least understand her character. But her neutrality isn’t just from a place of helpless desperation or an inability to choose its something she really believes in. So this is the part where I insist her love of shoujo manga is actually really important

so yeah. I thought this was a little funny but the more I think of it it is super interesting how manga is cited as what makes her soul unshakably set against you and the destruction of Tokyo. And I think it’s just that it’s representative of or partly responsible for her genuine love for Tokyo, its art and by extension its people. Like to everyone the “unclean ones” are basically like some ancient historical threat once faced by their kingdom but through finding used copies of Rose of Versailles on the ground throughout the game and it, a product of the culture and people who live/once lived there, it just gives her a level of empathy/respect for them beyond what the others achieve.

And she just cares about the people a lot yknow. When everyone splits off at shen duque her first worry is about skins and fujiwara. Walter and Jonathan’s motives both are concerned with the fate of Mikado, be it tearing it all down to start over or preserving it by destroying Tokyo (although that isn’t really /Jonathan/‘s motive but you know) but Isabeau is the one who actually wants to help the people of not just Mikado but Tokyo as well. So like “isabeau’s stance is that killing a bunch of people is bad” isn’t like groundbreaking literary analysis im aware. The game tells you that. But all the stuff I said is like In my cute little opinion Why she thinks like this. Anyways I wrote this for no particular reason other than I thought about isabeau and I like her. Sorry. Obligatory “but I’m probably wrong about everything” disclaimer

No one is changing fucking narratives. Think about it you dumb idiots. You're in the closet, in a homophobic country, trying to live your best queer life in a glass closet. You leave enough hints about your sexuality & the person you love. Hickeys, GCF Tokyo with a queer love song. People either believe it or don't. And one day you're enjoying a significant COUPLE HOLIDAY in korea, with said partner you did all the above things with & the next thing you know its spread all over the internet.

Now I understand why Jikook are doing what they are nowadays. They were caught together on a couple holiday without members, by locals & since then, Jikook's public outings have stopped. The way JM even tried to downplay White day, which might have worked had he not posted JK on White Day before they were caught out, but still, the fact that he even felt he needed to play down the holiday & even stopped going to that place, should throw up major flags. They've always been able to leave room for deniability, but it's hard to explain a couple day outing. Seems it scared them into becoming more private. That & we have JM's mail stolen & privacy breached around the same time. Jikook obviously felt they could go out & didn't worry cause for the most part their privacy is respected. And now that they were, they been cautious since. This wasn't some premiere outing with two friends & cameras on a random day. We are talking 2 people who have spelled it out they are queer, who are rumored to be dating, who were caught out on their private time together, on a COUPLE HOLIDAY with no other members of BTS & it spread all over the internet. The only duo of BTS rumored to be dating and they are the only two caught out together on a real couple holiday. Yeah, its a big damn deal.

I just know Hybe and The members said something to them day. If they police Jikook during random photoshoots like we've seen or interject, when they are just having fun together, oh you know they came down on Jikook that day & they probably got blamed for it, even tho its not their fault someone took a pic and posted it. The timing of WD & Jikook's public outings coming to stop, is too perfectly timed for it to be a coincidence.

Izana smiled softly as he continued to argue with his boyfriend.

God how he loved the other male.

If only they lived in the same country.

Izana may be a gang leader, and crave for absolute power, but this man? He wanted to be with this man more than anything.

Izana has known this man since he and {Reader} were 12, a short while after discord had come out, and fell in love with him at 17. He’s 18 now and totally and utterly head over heels in love with the other male, not that he’d admit it.

He would do anything and everything to see this man, just once.

But since {Reader}’s siblings can’t be left unattended, and are high risk for COVID because of medical issues, neither of the males can go and see the other.

That didn’t stop them from calling almost every night, and texting everyday tho.

Most people thought their relationship was fucked over from the very beginning. As Izana was a leader of a very troublesome gang in Tokyo, and {Reader} was an owner of a small business who makes pictures, signs, and pretty decorations of all shapes and sizes from home.

It was mainly {Reader}’s family who thought that, as Izana hadn’t really told anyone, but it was whatever. They’ve been together for almost a year now, both happy with where they are and it’s overall a healthy relationship. Sure they’re both mentally unstable, but they were working on it, together.

That’s all that mattered right?

Random conflicting Adachi details in the Golden anime

In the post about "Adachi was totally stalking Mayumi", I mentioned:

I’m aware that the Persona 4 Golden anime has its own version of this where Adachi is actually legitimately seriously assigned to go babysit Mayumi. But that’s just the anime adaptation’s take on Adachi, and in the commentary track for episode 7, the director emphasizes that this is their take and encourages you to think whatever you’d like.

So here are some other decisions that the Golden anime made that conflict with what else is known about the character.

Golden anime: Adachi is in Tokyo before coming to Inaba. They don't name Tokyo, but he's shown working at a rather distinct building when he receives his transfer order to Inaba, and the building is the real life Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department building.

Atlus: Adachi didn't live in Iwatodai, but he did used to work in the heart of the city (source: Persona Stalker Club episode 11).

I assume that the anime staff picked the Tokyo PD to make Adachi look successful before he gets booted all the way to Inaba.

I know some creators just come up with answers to fan questions, but I don't get that impression about this - Atlus had already thought about it if Adachi was talking about being sick of seeing the Moonlight Bridge. (Tho the Moonlight Bridge in Persona 3 is modeled after the real life Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo. I guess we have "Tokyo at home".) I think Iwatodai is a big enough city that Adachi would miss it when he's stuck in Inaba too. It's modeled on the very large port city of Kobe. Going from working there to working in the sticks would be a huge shift.

Golden anime: Adachi is wearing a red tie as he drives into Inaba with his transfer papers.

Atlus: Adachi's red tie was a hand-me-down from Dojima because Dojima couldn't stand seeing the shitty tie Adachi kept wearing (source: Persona Stalker Club episode 5).

The Persona Stalker Club stuff was after the anime aired, so it's not like they could have known. I also don't get the impression that this was a random answer. The person who asked this question on Stalker Club was totally on to something - why *do* these 2 dudes both wear red ties? Also, in Adachi's social link, Nanako points out that he has holes in his socks, so him wearing a threadbare tie that pissed off Dojima sounds about right lol.

Golden anime: Adachi's apartment is rather empty. Barren, even - there are no personalizations or decorations. It's also noticeably clean - part of the plot is him cleaning out his fridge, and the setting files only shows some folded clothes on the ground.

Atlus: Adachi is noted as being bad at tidying up his room (source: his P4U2 profile).

I don't think this is a "random" trivia thing that someone just wrote for his profile. In the notes accompanying his character design from the Persona 4 Design Works, Soejima talks about communicating that Adachi really was an elite in the police force through his bedhead and crooked tie. How elites have some part of them that's "off", and in Adachi's case, it's that he isn't mindful of his appearance.

Imo, what Soejima did with his character design helps give the player a visual about how his home looks without ever actually seeing it. Like the mental image I have of him is, "dude who sleeps on a futon surrounded by stacks of cup noodles and beer cans, uses a 10-in-1 product, owns 1 suit", and I thought that way before ever seeing his P4U2 profile.

Meanwhile, the Golden anime adaptation went in a different direction and used the appearance of his place as an extension of himself. His room's barren appearance and lack of personalizations reflects how Adachi doesn't have much going on in his life, and the kindness forced on him by others is something he keeps on a cold shelf before physically throwing into the trash. Hmm, it feels heavy handed when you type all of it out like that lol.

???: Btw, the anime might make you think Adachi has a classic yellow PVC raincoat, but it's actually a yellow mods coat (source: Soejima's character design for Adachi says "mods coat"). The m51 parka that was worn by mods is made of nylon, so it's also waterproof. That said, I have no idea if the anime was trying to draw him in a pvc raincoat or a yellow mods.

hello friends it is i, returning with an attempt at a second muse after i accidentally lost one kdjhfjkdhskhf. as always, please like this to plot as i ramble about him and add in some badly thought out wc LOL

ANYWAYS INTRODUCING ... ! yoon jiwon, born feb 3

(tw for parental + other death)

he was born in seoul but both of his parents died in a car accident on new year's while getting him a surprise

he was 6

he never learned what that surprise was

since his parents were both only children and he had no extended family that could be found/were willing to take him in, he was put into an orphanage with a ton of other children

contrary to popular belief, he didn't hate his time there. he still got to attend school and make friends with other kids

ofc there was the bullying that he had to deal with at school for being parentless but he had long accepted that as a fact of life and usually just ignored anything said like that

after being struck by tragedy so early on in his life, he sort of was a recluse and only stayed friends with kids who were his friends before the accident since he continued attending the same school after that

he was really close to a few boys at school who were good friends of his, and he had thought that they would finish elementary school and move onto middle school together

but one of his friends ended up passing away tragically, being in the wrong place at the wrong time

being subjected to so many losses in a row really took a toll on him and he became more closed off and only spoke when spoken to

during these times, he turned to music since it was something that couldn't be stolen from him. his christmas present that he had been given (before the fateful new year's day) was an ipod and he still has it despite it not really working well anymore but he can't bring himself to throw it out

when he was in middle school, he was (surprise!) adopted by a japanese/korean couple who had been scouting out a few different orphanages and had quote unquote 'thought he was perfect' etc etc he moves to japan before his first year of high school (in the spring so he has a few months to adjust and learn japanese)

he has a relatively good time in japan, though the language barrier was difficult and he literally has to learn as much japanese as possible before he goes to school in the fall

he ends up about a year behind (bc of language barrier issues) but still graduates high school (a year late) with good grades

it's then that he decides that maybe it's time to return to seoul so, instead of going to university right away, he gets a job and he works hard for a year and a half since his parents supported him in his return to korea and said they would match what he saved as long as he promised to call and visit often

so he moved back to seoul in the fall of 2023 (around chuseok) thinking that that would be a good time to come since everyone would be busy with festivities so he could settle in and wander around the neighbourhood

he gets a decent apartment to himself, his parents helping him with the deposit and he has a little veranda and even a living room despite living on his own

and he picks up guitar lessons now

his mother tongue feels a bit odd in his mouth nowadays, but his (adoptive) parents spoke both languages (his adoptive mother is korean) so he had enough practice though the last 5 years of his life was spent mostly speaking japanese but he's slowly getting used to it again

OKAY IF U READ ALL OF THAT I APPLAUD YOU (claps)

some wanted plots (even tho i'm bad at this and we should brainstorm if you want something Better Than This)

friends! ofc, he's mostly a loner but some general acquaintances would be nice

he works in a used bookstore in the sinchon area and can be found with his nose in a book most of the time though he Will chat with you if you ask him a question first

he doesn't seem like the type but he's somewhat up to date with kpop songs and will hum them under his breath sometimes while working if a song comes on shuffle

he has a youtube channel where he uploads covers but his face usually isn't in them, usually wearing a hat with a mask or the camera is fully angled away from him so maybe if you hear him singing one day and are Intrigued bc he sounds like a youtuber u know

also i like the idea of one of his audios accidentally going viral on tiktok but he has no idea bc he doesn't use tiktok LMAO

Chapter 14 Episode 6 Part 2:

We start more Barong backstory, Shangri-La's Transient Barong. A dancer who dedicates dances to "God" who is not of this world. When he exercises his "rule," the fur that covers his whole body changes to murmured gold. That is proof that Barong has entered what is called a "trance state". It is believed that it is a ritual to let go of one's ego and reach a state of offering oneself to a "god". There is no doubt about its role. There is only boundless joy. Only one thing, if it were to come true, Barong wanted to see it with his own eyes before that happened. He wanted to see the smiles of the audience enjoying his performance more than anyone else. We cut to Christine. The Entertainers has always been behind this Tokyo 'game'. A loop that has been repeated countless times. Among them, the spotlight never hits them. Still, we played behind the scenes. All along, the only one who could do it was us. Because there was someone who has been watching us behind the scenes of this "game" for a long time. We cut to Barong who has entered his traced state. He said It's hard to be on stage without an audience. We actors just can't stand it. But even if it's just one person. If there was someone who could see me, not anyone else. We entertainers can play any role. The joy of someone watching. If only I had it. That's all we can do.

We cut to Motosumi who noticed the exception’s presence but it’s not fully there. It somewhat similar to how Tianzun feels there but not at the same time. We cut to Tianzun who says there are several types of people who “can't stay in Tokyo long” like him and Quantum. The first is those like him , who are bigger than the finite world. then the second is “Those who cannot prove that they live in the world”. People like Quntum who don't even know if they're alive or not, cannot exist without being observed by someone else. If there’s someone who saw her for the first time, and she can finally go to Tokyo. Another type is those who are "omniscience and omnipotence". A person who knows everything in the world, or a person who makes it possible. If “omniscient and omnipotent = 1” as “the totality of the world = 1”, the existence of others who observe it contradicts itself. Therefore, even if someone who is "omniscient and omnipotent" can be summoned to a finite world, they will not be observed stably. if the observer were able to set their ego to “zero” or can stabilize its existence with "denial of omniscience and omnipotence", saying that, Tianzun made an expression that could not be described as sympathetic or sad. He made an expression as if he understood the feelings of both sides of the conflict.

We cut to Barong, who offered himself to the Zero Exception and allowed it to absorbed him. The Wanderers can sense something bad is coming. If it really is a dead end. If there is nowhere to escape, there is no escape. A helpless, suffocating impasse with no chance gaps. It feels like a bottomless terror is approaching them, like the bottom of a black hole from which not even light can escape. Barguest tells them they need to run away now. Nyarl and Boogeyman show up to stop them from leaving.

After the fight, Barguest tells Q’ursha and Gurangatch to run but he realized he’s stranded with no escape. Barguest thinks about Kenta and grasped the keychain on his waist as he slowly sink in a black hole. Boogeyman notice the keychain and ask him if it’s from his child. Boogeyman said children are cute. This baffles Barguest because it sounded it came straight from the heart. Boogeyman said a crying child alone in the distance shouldn't go anywhere. That's why I'm standing here. No matter what the role is. Barguest sinks into the black hole to the other dimension. Around the same time elsewhere, MC gets in between Yuma’s and Amduscias’ attack to stop them from fighting. And MC takes the hit from both of them. We cut to Ahura who tells Nobumichi he knows the words Nobumichi always say “Only those with power are allowed to make peace”. A powerless person cannot create peace. Ahura Mazda, the supreme judge, knows this better than anyone else. Back to MC, who was blow away by the attack. Yuma and Amduscias were both taken by a black hole. Maria sees a injured MC and tries to go help them but Nyarl stops her. She knows that Nyarl even if he wears a mask. Same actor different role. She knows that same look in his eyes. The eyes that are looking for someone who’s not in this world (Azathoth). Nyarl always do thing to make Azathoth laugh. Since Maria received past loop memories from Jacob she ask Nyarl a question. The actions of the Entertainers actions started when they got their hands on a reserve World Rep (Bigfoot). The Entertainer are a guild from behind the scene and doesn’t have a World Rep of their own but it was decided that Bigfoot would act as a World Rep for the Great Spirit. Gaining both front and back perspective of the game. Nyarl just laugh off her reasoning and tells her she’ll disappear too. No, Maria promise she’ll return to Tokyo. And Maria then gets absorbed by the black hole. Nyarl just calls Maria crazy and leaves without saying a word. Everyone including the Gurus are getting absorbed by the black hole one by one. MC wakes up to see that they’re all alone and standing in front of them is Ahura who tells MC to stand up, with darkness in his eyes.

Akiyama... I have complicated feelings about him, because on the one hand, he got betrayed by his closest people, lost all the standing in society and lived as a homeless person for a long time, and that's a big trauma to have. But on the other... He's got back up by a miracle, and now he's trying to recreate the miracle for others. He assumes the role of a judge for other people while himself being too young, too flawed, having black and white morals.

(In Y4 I downright despised Akiyama when he refused a loan to an abused woman on the basis that she didn't want to apply for sex work, but in the same substory gave some cringefail guy 4 chances to complete the test just because it was amusing.)

But I've just completed Y5, and it gave me lots of food for thought.

First of all, from what I see, Shun here was written (rewritten?) as a more sympathetic character. For example, now when it's implied that he's gonna make some woman "use her body" for the loan, it means he's sending her to work on the construction site. Well, alright. I'll take the bad taste joke over previous cases.

There's also an important quest when Akiyama meets his former boss, who not only initially fired him on false accusations, which started his downfall, but also married his ex-fiancée. And Akiyama finally admits that at first, he wanted to use his position as a loan shark to be selfish and to get revenge, but got disgusted with himself after seeing some humanity and principles in the former boss.

So, here finally comes self-awareness about his actions. Interesting tidbit.

Another big part of the character building we see now: when he is alone in Osaka, without Hana around, he's a complete mess. His new office is dirty, he barely eats some instant ramen and clearly just uses the place to escape Tokyo and the responsibilities he created himself. If in Y4 we saw him within his element, managing Elise and doing loan business (with a messy table because he's just soooo quirky and lazyyy \s), then in Y5 we get to see a bit of what's inside his head. And it's not pretty.

He's clearly distancing himself - from Hana and his new yakuza friends, because they have their own lives to care about. (Tanimura too mayhaps, but this is a separate friendship that I also like to talk about a lot)

Aaand he escapes to his ugly nook to have his ugly depressive thoughts. Can't let them witness it, can he? They'd lose all the respect for him.

At the same time, he throws himself into helping Haruka with passion, because that's the thing he actually cares about, for the first time in a couple years. (He also provides her with some much-needed parenting about the importance of being selfish, because, being raised by Kiryu, she's entirely too self-sacrificing.)

And suddenly - he's lively and energetic again, he's bouncing off other characters, he risks his life for what he deems right, he's helpful, organizing, charming. He's everywhere.

(But he's also afraid to acknowledge that he's got too close to people again. So he's ready to literally die for them and Haruka's dream, but avoids calling them friends, settling for "acquaintances")

Not much needed to imagine that, after everything settles down, he falls apart again. Because in his head he's never really needed or too important for the people around. They carry on with their life and plans. Such as Eri, Arai, Yasuko. Even Hana got fed up and left at some point, and has been keeping him at an arm's length since. (Good for her, that was unhealthy)

He's not only not that interesting, his trauma is "ugly" (by his self-admission). It's not heroic and it's very mundane. There's no clear villains to blame, like with Majima's torture in Y0.

It's just - waking up is hard. Akiyama can't see the point in much of what he's doing anymore. Money is just paper for him now, they might have bought him the freedom of choice, but somehow it didn't help. Even with all the financial help to struggling people he can't buy healing for himself. Most alive he felt actually was when he lost the money briefly in Y4 - it made him work to get them back again.

Now it gets a bit tricky, hence the TW.

I think that a lot of things about him actually make sense, if while living on the streets, he had it bad enough to the point of selling himself for food. Like, I don't want to make it into torture porn or downplay the traumatic experience of homelessness overall, but something for sure ruined him and his self-perception. That's why he's bouncing between playing a self-righteous entity and hating himself.

Aside from his crippling depression from all this being shunned deep inside and not addressed, there's the attitude about sex work I've mentioned he has in Y4. He is distancing himself from the situation yet again. A little bit of a trick to calm his mind: "If I treat it like every other job, it won't feel as dehumanizing applied to myself". And also: "Well, I was not above doing that! I was not too proud to do it! Why should anyone else be?"

Now, of course he doesn't want to subject his former boss (and, by extension, Eri) to the same hardships. Even though he is, actually, a bit of a cruel person.

So here's Akiyama in Y4-5. Not super pretty and kind of greasy, but nevertheless charming, gallant and crazy smart. Fighting and dancing and singing and networking equally well. VERY annoying, because he considers himself an expert in all things he read about even once (I also hc him eidetic memory, which makes it worse). And with every year getting more secluded and miserable.

That being said, fem ryuaki has slightly different tone even in all-fem AU because of gender expectations. Akiyama's upbringing for example.

I hc his parents seeing him as this very "proper" son, encouraging his risk-taking neurodivergent activity ONLY when it helped to build onto that image. They happily bragged about their son - with prestigious business degree, good banking job and pretty fiancée. But ofc, when it's all came crashing down, they didn't want to hear about him anymore. Nowadays they acknowledge his existance with some disdain, because they care about reputation more then about him or his wealth. And he has some "disgusting jobs, no respectable friends and no wife".

(It's all kinda complicated from both sides, mb I'll get deeper into it in fanfic that I'm writing)

(And forgive me for saying this, but fem Akiyama is more interesting for me to write in this narrative, because she needed to balance fitting "proper little quiet Japanese woman" with her loud banking career, and while she was always openly feminine, she was never proper or quiet "enough". And now she's "not enough" among actual living legends.)

What is your job?

oh this is a hard one because i both Love to talk about what i do and also live in fear of doxxing myself due to the sort of unique nature of it. i work in a lab that does agricultural genotyping and my role is maintenance/engineering/general problem solving for the automation we use.

If you could go back to school, would you?

oof. when i finished undergrad, further education was Not An Option for me for multiple reasons and i took that kind of hard. i've gone back and forth a lot because i know wanting higher degrees is mainly just for my ego, and i am already doing what i want career wise. i would love to study and do research projects on specific stuff, but at the same time undergrad really broke me and if it ended up anything like that it would be bad.

the only stuff i've done that wasn't labwork was a summer i spent interning at a botanical garden when i was debating switching to a horticulture degree. i got to make the little metal signs to label plants with. it's where i learned to id a lot of ornamental plants on sight.

sure, why not, but to me it's kind of a 'wouldnt even notice with the shit i've got going on' thing lol

i guess so, the randomest one is probably fear of like big spaces/machinery with water? it's not fear of water per se, i can swim, but things like big drain culverts that you could like walk into, or big water treatment holding ponds, or the inner workings of dams. the tokyo storm drain system is beautiful but viscerally terrifying to me. i think it's just about big spaces that could suddenly be filled with big volumes of water

i wasn't coordinated enough for anything but running and somehow tennis? i liked both tho

I just read you Tighnari x reader x Cyno! And read some sad fic's... and Tokyo Rev but that's besides the point— How about reader that's not YET on a relationship with both boys and they (Cyno and Tighnari are in a relationship) have feelings for reader! They want to include her as well but reader hides their emotion's really well, they know her because she's always "happy" and helps everyone around them but her eyes look dull (with no life) and just hangs out with both of them but—

Reader is tired? As in mentally exhausted and just wants to end it all because some dark past came to her? (It could be a trauma that's get her on that state)

This actually reminded me of the Tighnari series I've been following (also has unalive themes) and a Tighnari fic in my head that also has the same theme that I definitely won't write-

What if this was AFTER they broke up instead? Ohhh spicier and more heartbreaking, the guilt of it all and the fear on their end after realizing that they may have had a hand on why their ex is acting like this, while the reader couldn't be bothered to comfort them back

Tighnari finding them on the cliff near where their favorite spot when they were still poly, sadly smiling at seeing them still attached to the place, until they jumped - and he rushes in to grab their hand, but they were too heavy because of their adventuring bag they won't let go no matter how much Tighnari begged.

Tighnari is shouting for help, getting more frantic at this point as his strength is starting to slip and that's when Cyno heard his call and rushed over to help. Quickly pulling them up, one of them takes the bag (it's SUPER heavy) to look inside, seeing that it was actually all the mementos they had when they were all still together. Their ex planned to jump off with the items they loved.

While the other, most likely Tighnari, pins them down to stop them from trying again as he shouts at them for being so stupid, so reckless, what the fuck was that stunt you pulled?! Why didn't you listen to him?! He was crying without even realizing, eventually realizing the implications the more he calls them out.

They still love them, of course, it's not easy to move on from someone you loved for so long and so genuinely. But that doesn't mean they want you gone just because you're not together anymore. It's not gonna be a cake walk back to the relationship, be real, but it depends on why they even broke up in the first place.

With the Matra and the forest rangers tasked to look out for their ex, the two took their time to help them back to living healthily again. Back to normal, as normal as things could be. When the reader does commissions outside of Sumeru, they were always antsy and paranoid that you'd have done it, and the wait is always terrifying that they can barely function in their work.

It's always a relief to see their ex back and alive even if they promptly shove away their positive looks and go straight to Katheryne like nothing happened. I also can't think of the ending cuz I want to leave that for interpretation aaaaaa
