I did not mean to flag anything?? I wonder if I accidentally flagged something while I was looking at my phone before falling asleep? Does anyone know how I can unflag whatever I flagged?

Also if it was your post I flagged I'm so sorry and please tell me how I can help or unflag it. (Though not sure if you would know it was me lol) I'm a mess. Sent a message to tumblr help and told them to unflag whatever I flagged.

Hmm. Today I searched my main blog for the word "gijinka" because I wanted to see all of the Pokemon gijinka drawings I did years ago (to decide whether I want to mention them to a pokemon fashion blog or not) and dutifully the app showed me my posts...

...except for one, which was flagged as inappropriate. And the android app didn't have any sort of button on it to appeal. So I went to my computer and to the "review flagged posts" thing on the correct blog...

...and that post was not there. It was not on a list of posts that I can appeal.

I copied the link on the mobile app and sent it to myself in a message, opened the link on the desktop and hello and hey presto, here is the post as a flagged post, with a button to press to appeal it!

If I had not happened to search my blog for gijinka posts, I would never have known that my post is flagged, since it didn't show up in the review flagged posts list.

And now I can't help but wonder what other posts of mine are flagged and hidden. What posts of yours are? I can't trawl through my entire goddamn blog on mobile to see whether there are hidden flagged posts :S

Oh and the cherry on top of this whole thing, is that the only post in my Review Flagged Posts list is a reblog of a political commentary photography project by Aria Watson, where she wrote direct quotes from Trump onto women's bodies. This post cannot be appealed, even though it does not violate any rules. :))))) I looked on the help pages on how to send a link to a post that needs to get reevaluated, and there is no way to do it.

I’ve never looked at my flagged posts before or even realized I had any, but as it turns out, I had about 10 posts flagged for sexual content. Only one could even remotely have been construed as sexual (it had a nude sculpture); the rest were completely innocuous, like this one.

Really irritating to have to set all of the community labels settings to "show" even though I really would like to not have to see actual violent content or sexual content because tumblr will flag the most arbitrary benign shit & double down on it even when it gets disputed which results in me not seeing completely sfw posts

Also, if content has already been reviewed by one of our trained experts, then it cannot be appealed, and will say so in the banner on the post.

I have to wonder just who are these experts, how have they been trained and who did the training.

Also are they in the US or in a non-US country getting paid like US$5 a day to screen flagged posts on tumblr.

Hi! I hope I’m not overstepping, but AO3 is a lot safer than Tumblr when it comes to mature content and censorship. Maybe you could post your stories there? Just so your content always stays online. I lost a lot of my content when Tumblr banned mature content in 2018.

Hi, nonnie! You are not overstepping at all. I'm admittedly terrible about updating my AO3 and need to be better about it. I do love the interaction of Tumblr and wish I could combine the good elements of Tumblr and AO3 into one place. 😂❤️

I get in theory why the labels are be a good thing. I, like many writers, do my best to put warnings on my fics accordingly. If I ever miss anything or forget to add the "read more" to a post, I welcome someone to point it out so I can correct it.

Flagging navigation posts on blogs though and fluff fics, those don't do anyone any good. Not to mention I could post something extremely filthy and there's a chance it may not get flagged at all, but the next blog gets flagged immediately with implied smut. Or certain blogs get EVERYTHING flagged no matter what they post. It's a flawed system that needs the bugs worked out.

Tumblr are still flagging my posts even though I'm using their new tagging system and properly tagging them as mature, sexual etc.

They didn't say anywhere that they would default my blog to explicit and hide my profile pictures and limit the search etc.

I was gonna make a(nother) sarcastic post about how this drawing of Roll was flagged as "NSFW" by Tumblr, but about thirty seconds after I appealed it, Tumblr determined that it is, indeed, not NSFW and they restored the post fully.

That was fast! Thanks, @support! 💚

And, to be fair, the post originally had a NSFW warning on it because the artist does occasionally draw risqué things. But, uh, The Website Formerly Known as Twitter doesn't show those things to logged-out viewers, now. So.
