Finally I got to answer this question!!! It took me months because I really couldn't decide how it would be. I'm so sorry! First of all thank you so much for saying this, it means a lot to me!!! Hope you like this post as well!

Here goes my thoughts about it... Warning for a VERY LONG post! (Almost a fanfic lol)

Sanji always wanted to marry Nami. Ever since he first saw her! Even more after they shared their feelings for each other, their first kiss...

They weren't even together yet when he bought the ring he would use to propose to her. They had stopped by an island famous for their diamonds, and when he was going to buy supplies, he saw that ring on a jewelry shop.

He just knew Nami-san would love it (he was actually lucky he found it before her, otherwise she would have already stolen it lmao), just didn't know when to give it to her. It had to be on a very special ocasion.

Time passes, the special ocasion never seemed special enough. Deep down he knew it was a engagement ring and it would only suit for a proposal... and then, they got together. Like, all his dreams became true. He could finally ask her to marry him, right?

Could he? Should he? Was he actually enough to give Nami all the wonders she deserved?

It's been some time since he last doubted his value that much. He learned his lesson in WCI, but... would Nami want to spend the rest of her life with him? Because that's what marriage means to him. Could he actually make her happy for that long?

On the other side, Nami always new, deep down, that a relationship with Sanji would last as long as she wanted. She had that kind of power over him, but more importantly, she was completely in love with him. Being with Sanji just gave her that comfort of knowing she would never be alone again, a feeling that she would be happy forever. Yes, forever. If it depended on her, their relationship would be for the rest of their lives.

She just didn't say these things out loud all the time. Nami just assumed, after such long time as nakamas, and then as lovers, Sanji knew this already.

Nami knew Sanji wanted to marry her. He always talked about growing old together, kids and family. But as time passes, she tought it was actually weird he never proposed.

She even started to doubt herself. What if Sanji didn't want to marry her afterall?! What if he didn't love her?

Yeah, no. That's silly.

There's got to be a reason. Nami swore to herself, after rescuing Sanji from WCI that she would not misread his feelings ever again. So she started to provoke him, once in a while showing him pictures of wedding dresses, talking about the married couples they met at islands and how it would be sweet to be like them... sometimes she would even say she always wanted to rob a engagement ring, but didn't have the opportunity.

And then.. she would observe his reaction.

Sanji got nervous a little everytime. However, she could see a spark in his eyes when he said no other woman would look as beautiful as she wearing those dresses... or that any life they chose would be the best, as long as they are together...

But then.. He would sometimes ask her if that's what she wanted. If she could she them together for that long when they saw old couples passing by... How perfect she was and how she deserved the best of the best forever.

And then it clicked her. Yeah, this time she read him well.

That damn traumatized man. How big of a idiot he was. How many times did she have to tell him she loved him? Nami even got a little angry when she realized he was actually insecure.

How can a man like him fight the worst enemies in the world without any fear of death, and at the same time be afraid of being rejected by a woman who openly said the loves him?!?!

Oh well. Guess she did had to give him a little push.

Sanji already planned a thousand times his proposal, but he would never think any of the possibilities were good enough. He was thinking so much about it, trying to get the courage to actually do it, that he would always carry the ring with him anywhere they go.

He never new when or if he would do it. He wanted so, so bad to ask her. He needed to.

One day the crew stopped by an isolated island. There were only a few small villages around, but the place was beautiful. One of the most amazing beaches they ever saw.

Before Sanji could think of anything, Nami asked him to take her on a walk at the beach on sunset. Of course he said yes with big heart eyes.

The crew were all exploring the island while they went the other side, walking by the sand till they were distant enough not to be seen.

Sanji was not prepared by how beautiful Nami looked (he never was). She was wearing a simple, yet gorgeous, green dress. He could see she even put on a little make up. This was an actual date, he thought.

Nami hold his hand really tight, she knew this was her chance to tell him what he needed to hear. This time she was the one who felt nervous.

Nami stopped walking and stared deep into Sanji's eyes for a while, without saying anything. She had planned telling him how she valued him and how she wanted to be with him till her final days. However, when she was about to say anything, she notice Sanji's hands trembling while holding hers.

He started to caress both her hands and looked down at them, avoiding her eyes for a few seconds.

What a big idiot he was.

He knew Nami better than any man ever could.. He connected the dots... Sanji glared back at her, he sensed her uneasiness. How could he doubt himself so much he let her realize that and want to reassure him?

He always admire how smart and determined Nami was. Why would he doubt her decision to be with him?

Suddenly a wave of courage overflowed him, and Sanji got on one knee right in front of her.

He never been so scared in his life, but if he was to be rejected, it better be after actually having the guts to ask her, right?

Nami froze for a second. She was planning on giving him a little push, but she never thought he would actually... propose?! Not that she didn't want it. She never got so many butterflies in her stomach like in that moment. How did he know what she was going to say? Was that observation haki?

Before she could think anything further, he slowly let go one of her hands and got something on his pocket.

Wait, did he actually had a ring all this time?! How didn't she notice? She wasn't the catbuglar she once was... erm, not that it mattered now. She quickly paid attention to him again.. and damn. He opened that little box and showed the most beautiful ring she ever saw in her life (and no one knew about jewelry like she did).

Sanji slowly started to speak, his voice trembling a little.

"N-Nami-san... I'm sorry I took so long to finally do this...

I love you more than anyone or anything in this world. I don't know if I'll ever be enough for you, or if I'll be able to give everything you deserve in this life... But I swear making you happy is and will always be my priority. Even though I'm a big fool...

Will you marry me?"

Damn right you're a fool. She already forgot about the ring while looking into his eyes while he spoke. She couldn't contain her smile.

Finally, she thought.

"Yes, I will."

She said, very affirmative, so he wouldn't misheard it.

His eyes widened, like he wouldn't believe what she just said. In seconds, he couldn't even see her straight for how many full of tears his eyes were.

"R-really? Am I really worth of... of spending the rest of my life with you?"

She sighed. Eyes also tearful.

"Of course, you idiot."

I don't even have to say they hugged and kissed right after!

That day the Thousand Sunny had one of it's biggest parties.

About the wedding itself, let's talk about it some other day!

where the brothers find out that teen!mc, who they practically see as a little sister now has a crush on somebody, how would they react? — gn!mc thats around 16-17 years old

small note_ im gonna say the demon that MC has a crush on is somehow the same age.. dont ask how just go along with it!

MC could not stop getting distracted while they were on cooking duty with Satan. They obviously had something on their mind that was distracting them but everytime that he asked they just brushed it off and tried— key word tried to focus on the task at hand. He also noticed before that they would get distracted or seemed to be lost in their mind during other ocasions. Now that just got him curious, what could be distracting MC so much? He wantsd to figure it out himself but he decided to consile his brothers about it, even if he didnt exactly like that the idea.

"Satan what did you call all of us in here for?" Lucifer asked while crossing his arms, it was after dinner and he decided to call all of his brothers to the living rook while MC was in their room. "Yeah.. I was just getting ready to have an anime marathon with MC!" Levi said sulking— not very excited to be out of his room espcially since Satan interupted him while he was setting up his room so him and MC could watch one of his favorites together.

Before any of his other brothers could complain sbout how he interupted them and whatever they were doing Satan sighed and said, "Well haven't you all noticed that MC has seemed lost in their thoughts recently?"

"I haven't noticed anything about that idiot lately." Belphegor says looking half asleep, but truthfully he had noticed that they seemed to be more distracted recently. Asmo chimes in, "Well.. whenever im hanging out with MC they seem to barely be listening anymore!" He pouts thinking about whenever hes been painting his nails with MC, or going out to shop with them that they haven't really been paying attention.

"They've been ignoring me too!" Mammon says before Beel responds, "Maybe they're just thinking about food." I mean thats what he's almost always thinking about... "Thats what you always think about.." Levi says

"Back to what I was saying.." Satan says— with an annoyed expression, "I've been trying to think of what could be distracting them so much." He continues and now all of them are trying to guess what could MC possibly be thinking about that causes them to lose focus or start ignoring them?

Mammon laughs, "Definitely money!"

Belphegor rolls his eyes before saying, "Probably 'bout sleep."

"Ohh!!! Maybe they're thinking about their favorite anime or.. characters, maybe even games!" Levi says excitedly about the idea of MC having the same thoughts as him

"Cats? Or maybe they read a book that they enjoyed and can't seem to get their mind off it." Satan suggests

Lucifer sighs shaking his head, annoyed at his younger brothers, "Isn't this supposed to be what MC is thinking about?"

Asmo seemed to have an idea and gasped dramatically, "Wait.. what if our little human has a crush..?" He says whike smiling, happy to be a your wingman if you do! Oh and he can dress you up for your dates, aslong as whoever your crushing on is good for you though!

All the brothers fall silebt for a second before Mammon says, "Hah, No way!" He brushed off the idea before Satan cuts in, "No.. that could be it."

That Troll Accusing P/T fics and Trek Fic Writers Blogs (Including me) of Racism could be a Right-Wing Bot.

Edit (4/16): I would like to emphasize that i really hope this theory is not true. It stemmed from having had multiple friends and acquaintances in the voyager fandom (white and not) be suicide baited and otherwise harassed with vague accusations of racism over the past year, (for P/T primarily, but other ships and characters on occasion too) yah we did cycle through a lot of explanations. Ultimately our anon(s) being someone with either a malicious motive or an extremely ill thought out and unproductive approach, were the explanations that wound up making the most sense. the content of the anon asks and comments i am refering too has been both vague and painful, and further, never came from a real ao3 or tumblr account. these also came with no evidence based points for the fic writers to work on.

I do not believe this theory below to be anywhere near the most plausible. but it is the only conclusion we could make sense of for a slew of similar anon messages that, at the end of the day, did a lot of hurt without making any concrete points that writers could take action on. By making this analysis, my hope is not to convince you all that a right wing troll is out to get voyager fic writers. Instead, i hope it comforts writers who have gotten similar attacks and helps them to dismiss messages that come with harassment and suicide baiting, rather than evidence based points. And i hope if there are real people behind those anons that seeing this analysis helps them to reconsider the effect their approach is having.

At first I thought I was paranoid post-2016 and 2020, but now I've been hit a couple times and seen comments on more of the affected fics. And I'm seeing concerning themes.

I make a couple of assumptions here: 1. My anon (whom I will refer to throughout as "The Anon") is the same each time. 2. The Anon is the same actor or belongs to the same group as The Anon troll commenting on P/T and some J/C fics.

The Anon as a Bot Evidence:

1. The Anon accusations are sweeping, but generic. They do not use in-fic textual evidence to justify their comments. You write P/T: You're a Tom apologist. You think Belanna is his exotic wife. You justify your blatant anti-latina racism by casting her anger as an inherent a Klingon trait. You write J/C: You think Chakotay is a noble savage and fetishize him. You write Harry Kim: You're infantilizing him.

These tropes and stereotypes are legitimate concerns that fic writers should care about and should be mindful of. These accusations on the other hand are not legitimate. They are left as guest comments or anonymous asks on fics heedless of the fic content or writer's background or track record. The AO3 comments do not reference fic content. They are repeated across all impacted writers. They target new and veteran writers alike. They target fics regardless of rating.

2. Comments that appear to reference fic specifics go no farther fic tags.

This was harder to catch. But a P/T fic tipped me off last month. It was tagged "Tom & Belanna & Miral". The Anon's first comment on that fic dove in accusing the fic of incest. This showed both that the anon had not read the fic content - they also didn't understand the difference between a / tag and an & tag. (Which also means the programmer of the tag-reading bot or human actor creating tag-based comments is not literate in how fandom ship tags are structured - they may not be a fan at all!)

3. The Anon never replies. Not on AO3 or on Tumblr. (All AO3 comments from "The Anon" seem to stick to the automatically assigned Anon name or use a generic, short first name like "Sam").

Exceptions to this - the rare ocasions where someone sympathetic to the anon replies break from the distinctive patterns of The Anon. Replies come from either burner accounts or guests with more unique names. And these replies are both A - fewer and far between - suggesting they are a different actor - and B - by and large quite serious and thoughtful. I take them to be real people, legitimate fans concerned about racism, caught up in the crossfire.

4. The Anon uses language intended to engender right-wing sympathies and white-moderate anger.

The Anon sent this in their message to me the other day. I will bold the relevant passages.

"You’re the perfect example of the kind of white person who ruins fandom for everyone else, a nasty racist bitch who cares more about their shitty fanfiction than the feelings of actual people of color. Keep using your precious freedom of speech to fetishize brown men I guess

"The kind of white person": This anon has no proof of my race and proof doesn't matter to them. (They have targeted writers of color and white writers alike) They are indiscriminant because they are hoping some of their targets are white women. They are also attempting to out-group white women from the rest of fandom - trying to engender in me feelings of being alienated from my community.

"Nasty racist bitch" "Nasty woman" incidentally is what Trump famously called Hilary Clinton during a 2016 debate. Calling me a racist is there to put me on the defensive (and to alienate me from my coalition) Im meant to feel shocked and disheartened by this accusation. And in a way, keeping this generic serves a purpose. A lack of specificity makes it harder for me to defend myself. "Bitch" is there to trigger my fear/anger response. It is also assuming my gender - again. The anon doesnt care if they accidentally sent this hate to a man or nonbinary person or a person of color. they are betting that at least a plurality of targets will be their key white woman demographic.

"people of color" - while it is correct terminology - is also terminology of the US left/democratic wing. By using this term the Anon is in-grouping themselves with the left - trying again to make me feel like an outsider.

Finally, the kicker is the Freedom of Speech part of this ask.

The Anon is using the concept of free speech here in the same way that the MAGA crowd does, to mean that I ought to be able to say whatever I want regardless of how it hurts others, rather than the legal term's actual definition - the right to critique one's government without being jailed or killed.

By accusing me of caring about Freedom of Speech this way they're not trying to make me feel guilt - theyre trying to hurt me, make me angry, and guide me to sympathize with Republicans. They are using the term this way to push me to think of my fanfic in terms of free speech and thus to agree with Republican freedom of speech talking points. Or if I reject the accusation - to feel torn between Left and Right.

The Anon is trying to sow discord. Theyre employing the same tactics that broke the Womens March movement in 2021, and that pervaded so many Facebook groups and twitter in the last two US election cycles. They are using tactics honed to cleave apart progressives and moderates.

My only question after all those realizations was: why the fuck are they doing this to such a niche group as star trek fanfiction writers.

And then it hit me.

The Anon's Motive: Trek Fic Writers are a Target Election Demographic.

By and large, US fan writers of ships from 90s star trek are women, often millenial and gen x women, many likely to be suburban. And yes - more likely to be white. In short we are part of the same demographic Trump lost in 2020 and needs to either win back this year, or try keep from going to the polls.

You can tell me I sound ridiculous - I think this whole stinking situation is ridiculous. I'm not unaware of how fringe a theory this is. I've been taught to always assume incompetence before malice. And for a while I considered that maybe The Anon was genuine. Maybe they had good intentions and poor execution. I'm sure I could write characters of color better (I am not afraid to admit that I'm still learning. Being wrong isnt something to be afraid of). I wanted this to be the case actually, but I have too much evidence and motive in favor of malicious bot tactics to ignore.

I have tried so hard to think of a reason I'm wrong. Except that all the pieces make sense. No fic / writer specific grievances have been aired by The Anon. They hit the same points every time, again, without textual evidence. They never reply. They chose words that wound and inflame but that never say anything specific about the fic or writer.

And wouldn't it be damn convenient for the Trump camp if a bunch of progressive and moderate US star trek fans decided not to vote because they were disheartened by being accused of racism and felt alienated from the democratic coalition.

This is a niche community. But we likely arent the only targets. And as a friend reminded me tonight, it doesnt take much to move the needle.

• Boyle first encountered you when he fell over trying to eat a cake. I mean, first the cake fell, then he hit his head, and only then did Boyle fall. Being specific only makes it even more embarrassing. As he got to his feet, a pair of heels appeared in his field of vision. When he looked up, he saw you holding his cupcake with your free hand extended to help him.

• You had an embarrassed smile, but didn't laugh at him. You helped him to his feet, commenting that this always happens to you. When Boyle thanked you, you said you had enough cod fritters for two people. It was love at first sight.

• Within an hour of conversation, Boyle was sure he was going to marry you. He could even hear the wedding bells. You had just been promoted to detective, you were passionate about food and so confident. Boyle started making a mental list of which names were the cutest for kids. How many children would you like to have?

• Jake and Amy were enjoying their honeymoon, so there was no one to control him and stop him from daydreaming. Terry even tried, but Boyle didn't hear anything he said. Full Boyle? He's just madly in love as anyone who look at you should be.

• You have so much passion for your work, always trying to help everyone. You're more innocent than him. When he sees you fighting for everyone even when the odds are against you... Boyle remember of himself when he was new on NYPD. He loves to work on the same case as you, even tho Holt had make clear that he shouldn't be working with you. Charles can get distract and things may went south really fast.

• After 10 days of dating, Charles planned a special dinner. How much would take for him to rent the Statue of Liberty? Green is your color. It's something special, he can spend on it.

• Charles loves to join his favorite things in the world: you and food. When things got serious, after three weeks of dating, he decided to be responsible for your lunch. Everyday he makes something different for you, and enjoys to see your reactions. If you say it tastes divine, Boyle will feel so proud.

• Food play is a thing. Charles made sure that you know he loves when you stay at his house, and he have a special thing about cooking and baking for you. He loves when you sit on his lap, your arms around his neck, and he serves you. After every bite, he kisses you until you can't even breath. It gets to this point really fast.

• No one can make him believe you are wrong. People can say the saw you beating a old person, took a picture, and he would say: but didn't he had it coming? Charles will always defend you. Always.

• The only thing that stopped him from proposing to you was that Charles wanted to make it the most special ocasion of your life. He's planing every detail, every little thing, to make sure you will be the happiest woman ever. And because his bank thought someone had cloned his card.

I’m genuinely curious what the other critters roles are in the holders au (especially who the Chloe or Lila might be).

alr this ones simple, imma list all of the (rest of the) critters and give them a role based in both in the og MLB series and the Holders AU

just to make it clear, all of the relatioships im talking about here take place before catnap joins the same hs as dogday, eventually they all (Except bubba) become friends between them

Craftycorn: Along with dogday shes an exchange student as well, but attends to a different HS, she's dogdays roomate and both get along very well, eventually from living together they become good friends. Crafty's role on this au would be Alya's on MLB, but without the ladyblog lol, on this universe crafty like alya is interested in the heroes that suddenly popped out of nowhere, and starts investigating about them out of curiosity, eventually she gets very invested in them and starts taking part of a magazine to talk about them both. She's gonna be the first to find out their identities too, she eventually connects the dots and guesses, but doesn't tell anyone

Kickin: He's childhood friends with dogday, but here they met online before dogday decided to move and study on the same country as him, They don't belong to the same HS neither, he goes to the same one as crafty and they become friends there. His role here would be Nino's on MLB, as he would become very close to catnap eventually (catnap got his second best friend yippeee), and also would end up dating crafty lol (kickincorn enthusiast)

Bobby: Bobby is childhood friends with hoppy, and she takes on luka's role on MLB as the good listener and good advice giver to dogday (no romance between them here) Her and Dogday don't exactly have a band, but them both enjoy playing music together (dd plays guitar, bobby plays bass and guitar too + she likes to sing) which made them close. They met bc of Kickin as him, bobby and hoppy were in the same elementary school and kept being good friends ever since.

Hoppy: Childhood friends with Bobby, doesnt take on any particular character's role, she was on a volleyball club with kickin on elementary school and they met there, she also works at the same bakery as dogday mostly to help piggy's family out and get paid for hanging out with friends LOL

(as a psa, theres feelings between the bear and the rabbit, they are GAY, but their relationship develops later on)

Piggy: You could say she in some way takes marinette's role here? but this marinette would not be ladybug here LOL, i stated before that dogday works part-time on a bakery, well piggy is the daughter of said bakery's owner, and she also attends the same hs as dogday and catnap, she became friends with dogday from him working there and going to the same hs as him, shes also best friends with bobby and hoppy and hang out tgt often as a trio

Bubba: This man takes on both lila and kagami's role here, but both would be against caatnap here. As i said before, prototypes an engeneer who owns a company, said company has a partnership with another one, and this company ceo's has a son, Bubba is that ceo's son, so he and catnap had met on multiple ocasions but dont get along that well (they hate each other's guts), as bubba's mindset is like prototype's and catnap is not that fond of his father lmao. When catnap gets sent to socialize, prototype asks his ceo pal to send his son and watch him so he doesn't slip away from his duties. His job is basically to keep catnap from getting away from his father lol, and so he makes his life difficult to achieve that.

the closest thing to a chloe here would be bubba? but they behave very differently so he reminds me more of lila, so i could say theres no chloe here at all, personally chloe's character is very non important to the series, her only role is to be the mean girl and maybe help akumatize some ppl, but overall the only good part about her was her redemption lol, but then they threw that away soo, nothing much to say abt her, i don't find having a Chloe here necessary at all

Something that got me curious about the whole deal Zuko and Iroh have with the concept of destiny is how ingrained in their minds it is concerning stuff that they believe must be theirs at any cost or it is theirs from the start because they feel it or say so despite the evidence against such sentiment or how questionable it is. And that got me wondering: what if it was a family thing? And well, I rewatched a fragment of The Avatar and the Firelord episode because I wanted to know if this destiny stuff had started during the several years before Sozin and Roku met each other again. Guess what? It did happen during that time or that is what Sozin’s dialogue implied: “I've been thinking hard about the state of the world lately.” Lately as in the several years before Roku’s return? Or lately as in the time it took Roku to ask Ta Min to marry him until the talk they had during the wedding party? Anyway, Sozin had been thinking and that’s where “destiny” comes into play: “Right from the start, I was destined to be Fire Lord. And although we didn't always know it, you were destined to be the Avatar. It's an amazing stroke of fate we know each other so well, isn't it?”

With that mentality, Sozin believed it was also destiny to expand the Fire Nation, to “share their prosperity with the world” and that both best friends had this great future handed to them until Roku refused to be part on his delusions of power.

Other thing that is interesting is that even when Sozin had been thinking lately about such destiny, maybe there was an external influence that pushed him toward it, like his father’s teachings or words, or the greatness of former Fire Lords and what they had accomplished to make him believe world domination was his “destiny call” to make history.

Still, this context is super intriguing because it puts more weight into this mindset that we’ve seen on Zuko and Iroh. It’s not just reaching the top and make your mark on the world, it’s also like a family tradition. Though, while it was both of them for Iroh, for Zuko, destiny was tied to his self-worth too. Beyond the typical entitlement of a prince, there was also this high value his father had put on concepts like power, strength, dominance that were deeply connected to being a ruler, to be on the throne, and concerning the throne, that was also on a high pedestal. Heck, Ozai even created a new throne by naming himself the Phoenix King because he believed that was his destiny. So, when Zuko was stripped from his title and banished, his destiny AKA the throne, was taken away from him. No destiny means you were worthless or you screwed up so big you didn’t deserve to be close to what you have been told should be yours as long as you showed your power.

The same happens with the concept of honor, Zuko thought he was trying to restore it but in the end chasing Aang was just to please Ozai and get his love and approval. Honor and destiny are tied to his self-worth and this imaginary path he had paved in his head: getting his honor back means he finally did something right and he’s not a failure anymore, fulfilling his destiny means he has reached his true potential and is not a worthless excuse of a prince but someone worthy of the throne that is the embodiment of that potential.

The problem is that this attachment is not only unhealthy but also dangerous. Nor the show or the comics push Zuko to understand and come terms to with the fact that the throne is his not because of destiny but because of how the family inheritance structure works: if you are the firstborn, you will rule, if you aren’t, you won’t. And in very rare ocasions, if there were in ancient times, if the firstborn died on birth or childhood, another baby would have to take their place. Oh, but let’s not forget that he wasn’t even on the list, it was Lu Ten until he died on the Siege of Ba Sing Se and then Ozai schemed against Iroh and killed his own father to steal Iroh’s birthright, so Zuko’s case can be categorized as a special one of brother’s treachery and power usurpation.

Besides, by putting so much focus on destiny as this grand treasure that “he oh-so-rightfully deserves” it takes away the real struggles he had to endure to make sure the country is ruled appropriately. Sure, he was shown determined to restore the world with Aang after the war as a Fire Lord, but the comics have made him regressed a lot on character development making him incredibly entitled, abrasive, harsh, making poor decisions in politics, and arrogant by talking about how the throne is his and that’s law, blah, blah, blah. Though, to be a bit positive about how the comics portrayed Zuko, I have to say that they make him look like an ATLA version of Democles.

Have you ever heard of Sword of Democles story? He and the king, Dyonisius, swapped places and Democles starts enjoying the luxury and glamour of a king’s life, thinking that royalty is only that. He couldn’t have been more wrong because above the throne was a sword hanging by a single hair of a horse’s tail to depict the crude reality of being a king: facing multiple enemies and dangers that could eliminate him to take his throne.

Did Zuko have a sword hanging over his throne by a single hair? Technically, no. And symbolically, the comics made sure he was untouchable or that he got out of any trouble without confronting him with hard questions and realities in regards of always thinking the throne is his destiny instead of a duty based on loyalty to his people or how warped his sense of worth is by tying it to power. And honestly, with all the backlash I’ve read toward the comics, I doubt Zuko will be faced with such challenges.

Sitri is seven years old and she's only now learned what a birthday is, which means she's gone seven whole years without celebrating her mother's birthday. It doesn't matter that Rhea didn't know birthdays are a special occasion either, nor that she doesn't seem to mind. Sitri has got to make up for all the years they've wasted. When she makes her way to Rhea's chambers it is with a silver tray in hand, atop which rest a bowl of sliced fruits and a glass of juice, along with toast in a basket and strawberry jam. Lastly, there's a package with a large ribbon. It weighs rather a lot for a little girl, but she's determined to see this through. Her mother's attendants have obligingly not roused her yet, and one of them opens the door for Sitri as well so she can enter with the tray. Afterwards she asks the lady to leave, and she does. This makes her giggle. Mama's attendants are much more tolerant of her being the Archbishop’s darling than those silly nuns. Oh, she's not thinking about that this morning, though. “Good morning, Mama!” She calls cheerfully, leaving the tray on a side table and gripping the package tightly before she bounds to Rhea's side. “And Happy Birthday! Oh, no no no, don't get up yet! You have to stay in bed or it won't be breakfast in bed! Oh, silly Mama, you almost ruined my gift! Alright, just a moment now…” Leaving the package behind, she hurries to fetch the tray and brings it over, though Rhea has to help her get it up there. Well, as long as her feet stay off the ground while she does, Sitri supposes it's fine. She wastes no time kicking off her shoes and taking her place beside her mother afterwards — though she is mindful of the tray —, tucked right against her. “I know you don't care much about your birthday,” she says, “but I do. I wish we'd had a party every year, but well… We didn't know, so — I just have to make your day super duper extra special!” She beams up at Rhea, offering her the package. Inside rests a dark blue scarf embroidered with misshapen stars, and a drawing of Rhea herself with Sitri. Above the drawing are written the words, “For Lady Rhea on the ocasion of her birtday with all my love, from Sitri”. “I'm not very good at knitting,” she prattles on, far too pleased with herself to stop, “and I just started emboi—embroidery, but I did my best. I wanted to write ‘For Mama’ but then I thought someone might see it…” For a brief moment she wilts, though perks right back up as a thought comes over her. “Oh, I cut all the fruit myself! Don't worry, there was always a grown-up watching. I helped make the jam and toast, oh and I made the juice all by myself too!” She giggles, shining with pride, before her head comes to rest against Rhea's forearm, gently and playfully nudging her. “Sooo, what do you think, Mama? I wanted to give you the best day I could, because — well, you're the best.” As giddy as she is, her next chuckle is soft. “I love you lots and lots. I love you like… Oh! I love you more than there are stars in the sky. Did you know that, Mama?”

Rhea sleeps rarely; the bed, like most things in her chambers more for appearances rather than anything substantial.

(The archbishops chambers have changed little since their inception in the Adrestrian style of decor, and Rhea sees little reason for them to do so now.)

But occasionally, she rests; knowing well enough her body needs if even if her mind still roils, it is then she looks up at the hanging ornamentation above her and imagines the galaxies its mandalas are said to invoke; it too, is written to be an artwork of the Empires long past but it is much older. It comes from the time of her Mother.

She tries not to look at it too often, for the memories pile up when she does but it had at least been useful for teaching Sitri the stars (and before that as a mobile).

Alessia, a long time attendant of hers, bids her a blessed morning and Rhea rises into a sitting position to do the same; opting to comb her own hair as she thinks on the day ahead. Saint Seiros Day requires the Archbishop for prayers and blessings and so the archbishop she must become, but something today makes her hesitate.

Sitri barreling into her room (That Alessia, she thinks, fond in a subdued way) takes away her puzzling thoughts and replaces them with warmth. It is rare to see Sitri so early in her day and at first she is worried but even before the child’s words sink in Rhea is comforted by her confident demeanor and dimpled, beaming smile.

She is carrying so much though! Rhea tries to rise to help her with her last package but is chastened by that small voice in tones she know to be remarkably similar to her own. She can only smile, be sued, as Sitri continues to prepare things for her at her bedside.

“Sitri, my love, I bid you good morning - but how long since you slipped out… ah, there is nothing for it thank you.” She says, meaning it, even as *birthday* echos on her head as if an unfamiliar word. She wonders how Sitri learned it? 

Even more mysterious was this breakfast-in-bed but as Sitri seems quite intent on the ritual Rhea can only do her part, making room for both the tray and Sitri herself once the child is ready to take her spot on the bed. 

Sitris explanation is full to bursting as are her emotions and Rhea does her best to accept each one in turn as gently as she accepts each gift. Her hand strokes the scarf still in its package as Sitri tells her about the dedication on it and for a moment as Sitri wilts her hand freezes.

For Mama, to think there is a part of the that wants that.

Again, there is little to dwell on but Rhea does bring Sitri into her arms, seating her up on her lap as they had often done when she was younger. “It's delicious,” she tells her, taking a bite of the dust and then offering some to Sitri, “will you not eat it with me? There is nothing I could desire more on my day of birth.”

They eat and they talk, and for a moment Rhea can indeed imagine a world where once a year waking up like this becomes routine. That this love, growing in Sitri, planted without Rheas knowledge but to her greatest awe, continues to bloom.

(And it does. And it will. Taking over so much, but nothing Rhea would not already give.)

“It has only begun and yet… it is indeed one of the best days I have ever had,” Rhea replies, hoping her smile is a fraction as beautiful as Sitri’s, “and no!” She grins wider. “Every star? Even more than that one, do you remember its name?”

Pushing the tray aside and pulling Sitri close Rhea looks up at the ornamentation above her and points to the mandala of the Blue Sea Star; this time the memories that like up are of Sitri and rather than feeling buried by them Rhea feels bouyed. She thinks she could fly among those stars herself, again.

Geography in 1500-introduction

It is no surprise people don’t get political situation in Europe at beginning 16th century. We are not taught how geography affected the political situation, and course of history. Yeah on ocasion you get some map, but doesn’t really give you good picture. Often the very important towns or geographical features are missing! Or you don’t know certain places had same ruler.

So I’ve decided to change that and show you how actually things were. I will be doing series of post about Geography/Political situation in 1500, focused mainly on Europe and Northern Africa, 

For these posts I will often use map by reddit user Yetkinler:

Looks like complicated mess? Because it was! Actually it was even more complicated that this. It is closest to the actual political-geographical state of Europe that I could find and Yetkinler did truly great job.

However it is literally impossible to depict HRE 100% correct on map of this scale. It was even more complicated than this!

Also bit of note here about geographical maps in general. Earth is 3D sphere. Trying to recreate continental shapes, and sizes of countries in 2D is never 100% correct. Further from equator, the more distorted things are. I recommend you check the link bellow, where you can move around the countries and see how big they are in comparison to each other!

 But back to historical geography, and political situation in Europe. There were several types of goverments. Main ones:

Monarchies, Republics, Confederacies and Teocracies

Hereditary monarchies

Elective monarchies-Holy Roman Empire’s Emperor was elected, but you’d be surprised how many countries technically(in priciple but not in practise) speaking had elective monarchy or nobles had right to chose ruler if ‘need be’.

Republics-Venice for example

Confederacies-for example Swizerland and Livonia

(A confederate government is a group of states, nations or territories that are joined together by a central government that has limited powers of authority.)

Theocratic elective monarchy-Papacy

But teocratic goverment was not exclusive for Papacy. There were also independed archbishopric and bishopric titles, sometimes they were vassals of other rulers or part of confederation. 

Holy Orders(military orders) also sometimes had level of idenpendence. Teutonic Knights were vassals of Polish Crown, but other orders were independent. 

Same as with republics, some were idependent and others were vassals and only semi-independent.

Another term you should know is primogeniture and partition.

Primogeniture is when eldest legitimate child(usually son) inherites everything, leaving his siblings with nothing. Partition means that highest titles of the monarch gets divided between sons. So each gains their own indipendent land.

It used to be very prominent in Europe’s history but by 1500 it was no longer in fashion. However in 15th century one such partion was very important and imo changed course of Europe forever.

But then there are things which don’t make much sense. Why is Poland a Kingdom, and Lithuania is Grand Duchy, despite being much larger?

Mostly the answer is tradition, country’s history and nobody bothered to change it.

Historically, there was something called ‘petty kingdom’. Good example were Anglo-saxon Kingdoms in England:

Those were petty Kingdoms-which later got replaced by larger Kingdom of England. Problem is, not all larger kingdom lasted. Irish didn’t, and around 1500, still (Petty) Kingdom of Desmond still existed. It wasn’t that much larger than its neighbours, who didn’t style themselves as Kings.

In Iberia, when Navarre was established(first as Pamplona), it was still high times of petty kingdoms, and independent Castile nor Aragon didn’t exist as independent kingdoms.

When they later did, they stopped Navarre from expanding and themselves grew much larger. But at beginning they weren’t that different in size.

That is why Navarre was Kingdom despite being smaller than many duchies, princedoms etc. 

Less comprehesible is de jure part of kingdom, and how it affected whetever or not you should call the realm Crown or Kingdom. Because many kindgoms technically speaking should be officially called Crowns instead. 

However nowadays people don’t know there was difference and call both kingdoms. Personally I don’t mind either, but I’d like you to know what the difference was.

The issue mostly is whetever or not all their parts were officially de jure part of kingdom. Oficial part.

Idk if you’ve ever played Crusader Kings(game), but in it you can play as any ruler in Europe and conquer land. Your newly gained land, doesn’t become de jure part of your kingdom instantly, but in the game it takes 100 years, to make it official part of your kingdom-

In real life, there were territories owned by kingdoms for over 900 years-which still weren’t officially de jure part of the kingdom, just part of/under the Crown. Even though they had same language, same culture, and literally nothing which would explain why the shift wouldn’t officially happen. No reason at all for Moravia to not be official part of Bohemia. I live here, I don’t get it!

(But it might explain why twice in our history we were shortly not part of Bohemia and rest of the country was not up in arms about it, screaming-this is our land! Give it back!)

Crown instead of Kingdom was also used if the monarch had multiple kingdom titles, usually with first or main one being used. So Ferdinand’s realm was under Crown of Aragon, yet made of several kindgoms. So if you wanted to nitpick or be precise you could refer to one or the other.

‘Crown of Aragon was large and consisted of several kingdoms, but of course Kingdom of Aragon was closest to its rulers heart’. Here you can tell the difference. 

But even with this there were exceptions, times when for some reason the term Crown was not used, even though countries were part of personal union(had same ruler). We don’t use Crown of Denmark-but instead Kalmar union.

Union of two crowns could be complicated. Some never got shared name.  However instead of Castile-Aragon, they started to call it Spain, refering to it dozens of years of before officially it became Spain. Probably because it was easier in speech. 

Usually ducal unions-such as Ferrara-Modena only have - in between. Some people nowadays use  &, but I don’t like it(for no reason other than personal preference).

Favorite Thing About Them: He is a Muppet with jewish cultural heritage who can play classical music, jazz and rock and roll, jams with the gang of the Electric Mayhem, Rowlf the Dog and the Muppet Theater Orchestra, is ditzy and constantly falling aesleep while still showing a sensitive and empathetic personality to the other characters and is overall very chill despite all the surrounding chaos when the Muppets have to work and put it on a show.

Least Favorite Thing About Them: The version of his character design that makes him a weird tone of brown rather than blue in some scenes and the ending credits of the original Muppet Show was just ugly to look at, it seemed like it was a puppet whose fabric was getting consumed by mold.

In the muppets. first episode there is a moment where it seens he comfused a work day reunion with an AA meeting, wich I must repeat: "Alcoholism is a serious discussion, if a writer doesn't intend to develop it, maybe it shouldn’t be mentioned in a quick gag in the first place".

Plz, game, stop with these damn Daniel parallels

The worst of all is, in "Friend Hank" path Connor may have tried to befriend him as manipulation method in the beginning but he cared bout him in the end - unfortunately, man. I say unfortunately cuz it's a fact Connor gets attached to him no matter what (obviously in different levels), i hate admitting this. He "respects", it's something programmed deeply into Connor's program and it's weaponized in multiple ocasions, the same way they weaponized his deviancy. Even if he's pissed at Hank, the fact he's a human he had contact (probably the first one he had to work with as temporary partner) makes him bow down the entire game until HPR, where he can finally kill him - even there he kills Hank ain't cuz he wanna kill Hank 100% as revenge, it's cuz Hank is in his way. 2 birds 1 stone, i guess.

And it's even worse if u consider Connor in a non-deviant "machine" android state; deviant androids doesn't obey humans and stand up to 'em, but "machine" androids? Must never put on a finger against humans - haha, not here, not now. Connor got some military shit in him, bro. He can be hostile and kill humans if he needs. I guess deep down Hank knows that, that's why he's armed - Connor "never did what he was told" anyways.

RKs don't have peace in this shit. Being a semi-autonomous droid in a system like this sucks. I mean, we all know how the human system is - androids becoming free are just going out of a system and fallin' into another, cuz even humans are conditioned to some stuff and they ain't got a "red wall" programmed into 'em.

"Why so negative?" I'm always negative. I just can't see anything positive coming from this game's "best ending".

Xey Also stay to protect the kids and other counselors from harm at night. Nobody touches the camp while xey patroll the outskirts.

OKAY SO after I've scrolled down the ofmd music tag I need to talk about something I've haven't seen discussed yet. Now, it's been already established that all the music in the show has been VERY carefully chosen. An example is the use of Satie's gnossiène 5 in various episodes.

I haven't had time to do a review of all the music that is used, but when it comes to classical/instrumental music, we can divide it in various categories

Ambiental music composed for the ocasion: mostly strings music, I think, maybe some guitars

Piano music: Satie's gnossiène, Debussy's Reverie and Schumann's Träumerei. Used in the emotional/romantic scenes between Ed and Stede

Baroque pieces: I think most of them are pieces by J.S.Bach and then some of Vivaldi. Usually string instruments and a harpsicord, and appear on lighter moments and/or scenes with people from a higher class (i.e. the party at the boat in chapter five)

Of the three, I think the third is the most used, and it awes me because is also the mos historically accurate. For those who don't now, the Baroque period goes from the 17th century to mid 18th. It's Johann Sebastian Bach's death in 1750 (aprox) what marks the end of the period. So. Music of the same period the action it's set. Nice, isn't it?

But we've left some things out. Specifically, the diegetic music, which is basically the tunes Frenchie sings AND the singing that the Swede does in episode 6. I don't know enough about popular music and shanties to tell if Frenchie's songs are accurate to what could be sung in a pirate ship at the time, but for me it works quite well. The Swede's singing, on the other hand, surprised me a bit, because it's different. For one, it's not from the Baroque era. The Swede is singing an aria by Mozart called "Voi che sapete", from the opera "The marriage of Figaro" (Le nozze di Figaro). So is the only truly classical (from the classical period) piece used in the show. The rest are either baroque or from the 19th or 20th (I think?) centuries.

At first I was like "oh, okay, the joke is that the swede is singing like he is a soprano diva and of course they have him sing one of the most known arias in the history of music"

(side note: I really, REALLY need to know if the actor is truly singing or if it's edited)

However, after seeing how much care was put into every decision, I started to wonder why had they chose that aria. And then I looked into the lyrics.

Guys.

GUYS.

The song is literally about asking other people "Hey, I need you to tell me if all these things that I've started to feel are what people call love"

AND IT FITS SO WELL. Because we've already had the "you wear fine things well" moment, Ed has a lot of feelings on his plate and also it's the episode where we learn that he grew up in a household where his dad didn't love his mum, so he doesn'te know what love is, either.

So. A lot of feelings and thoughts that I'm not sure I've explained so well, but I needed to rant about this somewhere. I'll leave here the lyrics translation into English so you can have a look :)
