Throwback Thursday to my “Skatetazauruz” installation from 2013 at @freshpaintgallery in Montréal! My friend @marc_tison_mtl_73 helped me build the main dragon face structure, made out of broken skateboards, which I later painted. I also built a gigantic 4-truck skateboard and a huge cardboard fingerboard vert ramp! It was so fun to do!! Once the exhibition was over I gifted the main part to @trh.mtl who incorporated it into their skate bar. I didn’t manage to give away the cardboard vert though, so I lit it on fire and ollied over it, haha! Anyways, now that I have your attention, I wanted to let ya know that Im part of a skate art exhibition at @mirusgallery in San Francisco, tomorrow Friday night. I always love to go back in time to this piece, this era at the fresh paint gallery in Montreal, those endless weeks, working around the clock making something monstrously beautiful, conceptual and moving. It is by far one of the hardest tasks I ordered myself to deliver. I owe and thank so many people back then that pushed me, introduced me to these scene and help me become who I am today. Throwback Thursday to this 2013 installation I did at a local Montréal gallery @freshpaintgallery . Called “Skatetasaurus” it was a big dragon face made out of broken skateboards. My friend @marc_tison_mtl_73 helped me build it and then I painted it up. I also made a giant skateboard for it, a huge cardboard vert ramp for finger boards (just like I used to make as a kid) and I plastered the background with my favourite skate mag pages (just like on my room’s walls as at teen). Once the exhibition was over and I had to get this stuff out of the gallery, I gave away the monster to my local skate bar @trhbar , but I couldn’t find someone to gift the ramp to. So to end the installation performance properly, I just lit it on fire and ollied it in my back alley.
