My uncle says the architects got rid of the front porches because they didn't look well. But my uncle says that was merely rationalizing it; the real reason, hidden underneath, might be they didn't want people sitting like that, doing nothing, rocking, talking; that was the wrong kind of social life. People talked too much. And they had time to think. So they ran off with the porches. And the gardens, too. Not many gardens anymore to sit around in. And look at the furniture. No rocking chairs anymore. They're too comfortable. Get people up and running around. ~Ray Bradbury

This is the kind of strip where, if the comic was more than just one day a week, I could have run with a bunch of fun variations on this theme. Alas, there are only so many hours in the day and I have a LOT of pots in a lot of fires. lol
That said, the desire to make this gag more than it is was tempting, but I felt that its core idea was best served with simplicity.

Nowadays, people are so stressed out. If they took some hot coffee ☕ and spent more time rocking on the porch in the evening listening to the sound of the birds song and the peace and tranquility of nature, they might enjoy life more.
