Femme & butch have been used by bi women for generations before people just decided it was lesbian only. Irl, especially in the past, there wasn't so much of a line between lesbian & bi as they is today. Pls stop pushing u can't be bi & use femme, bc u definitely can, & they have been for many many years before Tumblr was even a thought

exactly as you said, the line didn’t exist because sexuality as identifiers rather than being seen more as a performance i.e. an act of doing was how it was back then. people did not strictly identify as a sexuality like we do today. it’s incredibly obvious women using femme and butch were doing it exclusively for other women, it was not being done for men. knowing that context, in present time, someone genuinely attracted to and interested in men as partners should be able to see that it wouldn’t make sense for them to claim the identity in modern times given how sexuality and gender currently exist. if you are actually aware of what the butch&femme culture entails and you still believe that then idk what to tell ya 

also its not a tumblr thing, believe it or not people outside of tumblr have the correct opinions as well and I have fellow lesbian friends (fellow trans lesbians even, golly gee whilikers) who have critical thinking skills too
