Stilecht im „Dark Preacherman Outfit“ bewegt sich Adam Darski zwischen Gothic Rock, Blues und Folk. Erfrischend, dass der Vorgrunzer von Behemoth, auf dem Album auch ein gutes Gespür für die blusigen Tönen zeigt. Zwischen schleppenden Beats und düsteren Texten, entfaltet ME AND THAT MAN auf 11 Songs seine ganze okkulte Kraft Stück für Stück.

Düster, mythisch, cool.

Wie es sich gehört, kommt das Album in verschiedenen Varianten raus. Auf dem Heimat-Label „Napalm Records“ gibt es ein paar schöne Box-Set und Color Vinyl Editions.

Nine originals with one cover of excellent #soulful, sensuous, low-slow, and rib meat-rocking blues. First tune up for me is called “#QueenoftheNile,” which features a guest, namely #Texasnative #LanceLopez on lead guitar! Having worked with Lance a few years ago, I just knew this would be good. Some nice bluesy licks leading in, and it’s where you start diggin’ her voice. A little coarse, but so fine, and also soft but sultry, sweet and sassy… all of the above! It’s only the 2nd cut but Lance is already the coup de-tat. Dark and smokey, this one would be great to hear last in a set and then we can all head out for a much needed break... I really appreciated her serenades over the phone throughout our conversation!... Eliza is coming and it’s hard, hot and heavy. We can use a blues #songstress to carry us on, and she is it💣 Terrific release from a #terrificperformer. So there you have it. The fire rages on #BaddertotheBone hits #BMansBluesReport 🔥 "Badder To The Bone, from #ElizaNeals and its a power blues rocker. Opening with #UnitedWeStand with heavy tom tom's on a Bo Diddley beat by Jeffrey Fowlkes and slide guitar by Michel Puwal, Neals is on a roll. On slow blues, #QueenoftheNile, Neals shows real soul on vocals, playing piano and taking names. Backed by Jason Kott on bass and Tim Grogan on drums, and featuring Lance Lopez laying down some excellent blues riffs on guitar and Peter Keys on B3, this is an excellent track. With a tango rhythm and nicely blended vocals, the stylistic guitar work of Puwal makes #BucketofTears a real standout. Soulful, #Heathen, drips with #southernsoul under the vocal control of Neals and with the thick B3 and piano work of John Gavin. Steve Winwood's #CantFindMyWayHome is always great to hear and Neals puts her special touch on it with firm vocal lead and nice backing, topped with strong guitar lead work by Lopez. Wrapping the release is Queen of the Nile II, a foreshortened rip of the earlier track but still tasty and with excellent guitar riffs by Lopez. A tempestuous #French #SaturdayMusic #musicreview from #BluesAgain Oui! 🇫🇷 "It is always pleasant to find the slightly scratchy voice and the overflowing energy of this inspired woman, especially when she has a few handpicked guests to sublimate her compositions. Nine in total, plus a cover of 'Can't Find My Way Home' (by Steve Winwood) where you can hear Lance Lopez's guitar which can be found on several titles including 'King Kong' and 'Queen Of The Nile' slow blues on which he serves us a solo which if not of anthology is at least stratospheric. The other guitarist is Michael Puwal who has the equally sharp pick and which Eliza has taken on as co-producer on a few numbers. Eliza needs at least guys like that to accompany her tempestuous and sensual voice at the same time. Note that on the three aforementioned tracks, Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd) takes care of the keyboards. On two others, 'Heathen' and 'Got A Gun' it is John Galvin (Molly Hatchet) who provides the B3 and the piano. Just with these people, we understand that the matter is serious and solid. The blues is always present, sometimes in the background, even if the machine has hints of blues-rock and Southern rock thanks to the three drummers and as many bassists called in to support the point.
