Chibi Fanart: Yuki Onna of Nurarihyon no Mago

Anything that has something to do with folklore always entertains me, the main reason I got hooked up with this anime "Nurarihyon no Mago" (Grandchild of Nura Rihyon). Yuki Onna (Snow Girl) is one of the main characters, I like her hair so much + her powers too, and I've been itching to draw her since the very first time I saw her. :P

If you are into this kind of stories, I recommend these mangas: Hyakki Yakoushou, Natsume Yuujinchou, Kamisama Hajimemashita and Black Bird. These are the mangas I have read so far with this kind of genre, and my most favorite one is Hyakki Yakoushou by Ima Ichiko. Though I'm not a fan of the drawing style, but the story is really awesome.

So like in Wreck-It-Ralph there’s a support group for all video game villains and it doesn’t have like all games in it, but the idea is interesting.

I was just reminded of this as now that I’ve finished reading SVSSS and I’m caught up on the donghua and everything, I’m watching Inuyasha and finishing it off from where I left off so that I can catch up and watch Hanyou no Yashahime. They kind of relate-ish in that both series feature characters that are half-human and half something else as a result of a love between spirit or demon parents and a human. So then I got to thinking that like Binghe is like all alone and there isn’t anyone else like him he can talk to which is part of his struggle, so wouldn’t it be nice if he could talk to the other characters I know of that are also half? Like part of his struggle is psychological and it’s a very unique problem that people in his world can’t really relate to or help him with, so what if he could meet people who could? Inuyasha, his daughter Moroha, and Sesshoumaru’s daughters are youkai and human where as technically Binghe is mazoku, so slightly different, but still. I recall that Urameshi Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho is descended from mazoku as well through Raizen but just the same Raizen calls him “son” even though he’s like a many greats grandchild rather. Not a half experience exactly, but even Kurama’s experience with becoming Minamino Shuuichi would be helpful advice at trying to balance life with different powers. Even Rikuo from Nurarihyon who’s like only 1/4th youkai, but still has to go to school and try to live a normal human life. It’d make for a bad fic to try to make this story, but I was just thinking it’d be a nice if some of the characters in the shows we watch or books we read can be friends with each other and give each other support whereas they’d otherwise be completely alone in their world.

I really like Nurarihyon no Mago. Tsurara reminds me of my favorite character from my favorite book series, so more or less seeing her animated and drawn brings me joy. However! Something I really, really, really, hate about her is how she was raised by her mother to groom Rikuo. So while I have mixed feelings about them changing his main love interest to the human girl in the anime as she's so boring compared to Tsurara... Am I kind of glad too? It's a really weird feeling... Tsurara is so cool (literally) when not fawning over Rikuo it's ridiculous!

I feel the exactly the same as you. When I was younger I loved the hell out of Tsurara (and still kinda do tbh cause she's actually a cool yokai character, disregarding that background detail).

I was pissed off when they decided to make it/reveal that she's actually way older than she looks and whatnot because I just don't like Kana Iega (the regular human girl of the 3 potential interests). Like nothing in the story that I remember made feel like giving a sh¡t about her. She's just like extremely plain? She's no Kagome Higurashi I tell you what.

So, while they sorta rushed the ending due to losing readers back then bummed me out (I think because people were disappointed in how the anime was adapted). I did appreciate the author leaving it open ended.

Specifically, who was gonna get him with part. They left it up to interpretation. Unless, they change that in Nurarihyon no Mago: Kage. Which will be a limited series that is gonna show including some things they weren't in the original series.

While Tsurara was like the closest to "canon" because the moments they shared including a kiss, i think? It's been awhile sorry. I'm going to reread soon.

But if we get more content later... If he has to have a waifu— I just hope it's not Kana. Especially, when you got a badass like Yura Keikain (the onmyouji Miko girl) who was the other love interest of his. He made that girl get "Tsun-Tsun" over him like they say in Japan hehe. And their interactions were great.

Anime About Demon Kings/Lords

Most of the anime series that I liked were about Demon Lords!

I don't know why I like them so much!

Lead characters who are bound to have demon powers and rule or destroy humanity! Like:

Kyo Kara Maoh!(God Save Our King)

This anime is about an average high school student(AVERAGE?) that was sent to the another world to become the Maoh(Demon king)

Ichiban Ushiro No Daimaou (The Great Demon King in the Back Row)

  This anime is about a student who is destined to be a Demon Lord 

Nurarihyon no Mago (Grandchild of Nurarihyon)

This anime is about a successor of a clan of yokais(demons)

Beelzebub

This anime is about a highschool delinquent who picked up a baby demon lord named Beelzebub
