✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

my very initial idea for him was 'guy pretending to be cooler than he is/secretly a loser, bad at lying but carefully omits things all the time' so before a lot of other things w his character, I decided he goes by his surname instead of introducing himself with his first. a lot of his mannerisms when I play him are based on mid-century radio and film acting so I named him after the actor & comedian Germán Valdés !

as for his first name my dm and i compiled a list of dorkiest things his first name could be & my dnd character names are all nouns so we went with Cariño (dear/darling/sweetheart etc).

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

i think the only fear of his that is on the level of a full phobia is he is pretty claustrophobic. especially now that he's become a storm genasi, i think he's a lot more sensitive to being contained or restrained in any way. needs to be in open air, etc... his fear of open water has come up ingame but I think that's an extension of his claustrophobia haha, feeling trapped in one place even a very open one. loss of control and feeling trapped, in both a literal and abstract sense, bothers him a lot.

that's the only thing that'll like give him a total shut-down panic attack but he can be pretty jumpy in general when he's out of his element. which has been... the entire campaign he's in. he got so scared he fainted last session <3

📻 for Ken'eq, Malachi, and Yun'ani!

Ken'eq: I Burn by Toadies. I absolutely love this song, it's literally just about a guy worshipping fire, and the lyrics are so raw it's just so good, esp the line "efficient and divine" the way he describes his worship feels so heavy and convincing of fire's simplistic raw power.

Malachi: キラメキの中で・・・ by Buck-Tick. This is literally my favorite Buck-Tick song and I feel like my followers by now are familiar that's my current fave band. But the instrumentals on this song are by far my favourite, and the lyrics create an image of insecurity and love that feels very compelling and real 11/10 that fits perfectly for Malachi who Sakurai is the face claim for.

Yun'ani: Werkin' Girls by Angel Haze. I've heard this song since I was like a kid, I started listening to Angel Haze when I was like in 6th grade and their music has always been so close to me. This song has an element of struggle to it, a look into Haze's own life and I feel I modelled some of that in Yun'ani in fact Haze is her voice claim. And the instrumental beat sounds very good, idk how to describe instrumentals very well but trust me.

all your yellowjackets posts are so intriguing so I gotta ask: what is yellow jackets about???

okay. so synopsis is a high schools girls soccer team is flying to play a game, then the plane crashes and those who survive are stranded in the wilderness. essentially, it covers what they did to survive, since they do end up having to deal with the snow and the cold!

it’s also told in the future, with some of the girls as adults, so it’s a fascinating look at the relationships and how they are forced to reunite and then you have the flashbacks of the times in the wilderness

and ultimately it’s about the relationships of teenage girls, at its core. how consuming they can be (first season is p gory just fyi)

my mom's bf's daughter is showing me monster high movies and I'm entranced by how much the outfit quality differs between characters bc I'll see really cute outfits then see another character done sooo dirty

jnhbgvbh yeah and that really goes for the doll line itself, like we'll get a lot of very good releases esp back in the day then like some real stinkers. The main ghouls tend to have the most detailed fits but quite a few of the secondary characters get really screwed over, I hope the new generation tries to do better with it, but I've also seen generation 3 Heath and his middle school boy fit so hopes are low.

tagged by @mellaithwen 🥰 i am forever idly working on a derek POV companion fic for taste your beating heart. right now it's only about 6k long and i've made it to...oh, the end of chapter 1 from the original fic? but i envision this as a shorter fic, maybe 30k tops. so have a scene from near the start when derek and stiles first speak:

“No?” Stiles sneered. “Is this a pattern of the Hales, big guy? Tell me something, Derek—is Cora going to come after you only to find your body in pieces? Why are you here?” 

Derek lunged at him, a little wild, his fangs dropping fast as he shoved Stiles up against the wall. He did his best not to press as hard as he wanted, not to dig his claws into the tender give of Stiles’ flesh. He wanted to though—God, he wanted to so badly. His shift itched at the back of his eyes.

It would be easy to hurt Stiles. Derek wouldn’t have to try hard, he’d simply have to let himself press a little harder. Here was the boy who had desecrated Laura’s grave, who’d mocked Derek’s grief, and was best friends with the wolf who forced him to bite an Argent. 

But that wasn’t all Stiles was, wasn’t all he’d done over the course of the years they’d known each other. Distantly, he recalled the comforting weight of Stiles’ hand on his shoulder as he kneeled in two inches of water and cradled Boyd’s lifeless body in his arms. It hadn’t been much—couldn’t turn back time or save Boyd’s life—but it had been more kindness than Derek had come to expect from life. Certainly more than he’d come to expect from anyone in Beacon Hills. 

He forced himself to breathe evenly. 

“I don’t think you have any right to talk about my family and bodies in pieces,” he said, his throat tight around the grief that choked him. “Or did you conveniently forget how you dug up my sister and had me arrested for her murder?” 

A person with a stronger sense of self-preservation might cow in the face of a pissed off werewolf. Not Stiles though. Never Stiles. His lips curled back to expose his own snarl as he said, “I think I can say whatever the fuck I want when you’re staying in my house and endangering me and my dad.” 

The anger drained from Derek then. 

Stiles pushed off the wall and slipped out of Derek’s hold easily. His lips were still moving but Derek couldn’t hear him above the roar in his head. He didn’t want to be here—in this God forsaken town or this home—didn’t want to be a threat to whatever delicate balance of safety Stiles had carved out for himself and his father. 

He was only planning on staying as long as was polite before he begged off in a few days. Derek was here for the sole reason that Scott had insisted and he was the Alpha. And he couldn’t say no to him. Not really. 

But there was no reason to force more intimacy than was necessary. He didn’t need to make friends with Stiles or burden him with his presence. Didn’t even really need to make conversation with him, either. And so he swiped his duffel bag off the floor where he’d dropped it and made his way upstairs. It didn’t matter what Stiles thought of him. He was here for one purpose: to figure out what had called him back to Beacon Hills. 

Once he sorted it out he could leave again. For good, this time.

49 (Are any of your characters certified Bird Nerds ™) - I'm guessing this means knows a lot of birds and that's probably Imona, she obsesses esp over wing structures of different kinds of birds

74- (Are any of your characters associated with flowers) While I have a government assigned flower for every character, Yaz'ri def had significant symbolism with flowers, loves to grow them and put them in his clothes and such.

79- (What is a humanizing thing about a villain/antagonist/generally horrible person character that you have) I'll choose Bone for this one since he's the most fleshed out antagonist I have. Hes deeply insecure and only wants to do what his higher ups (who he sees as family) will be proud of him for just for a bit of approval even if those things are very bad in reality.

132- (Who is the precious Cinnamon roll) Yaz'ri once again but I'll also say Ania who's a more chaotic kind of cinnamon roll

164- (Are any of your characters tinkers or inventors) Imona back again, she's a very gifted mechanic and likes to create new gadgets and such, in fact her fascination with bird wings is in part from her curiosity of the mechanics of flight.

Margarita ~ does your oc have any disorders or disabilities?

Due to recent story developments, Bo is now completely blind! He uses a cane to navigate, which can also transform into his scythe.

He can cast a spell that magically forms braille under his fingers for texts that aren't already converted to braille.

And his cat/familiar, Merlin, is trained to assist with minor tasks, such as fetching small objects, conveying "yes or no" when Bo asks if something is a certain color, alerting Bo when he's about to leave the room without extinguishing his candles first, etc.

Grasshopper ~ describe your oc’s personality

Bo can come across as edgy, bitter, and even a bit petty, but... Well, he actually is those things, but there's more to it. He's someone that lets his pride and his fear control him much more often than he should. He's used to being treated like a freak due to his demon heritage and necrotic magic, so he has a tendency to implicitly assume the worst of people who try to get to know him at first.

He's desperate for approval from people he looks up to, such as his father and grandfather, and this often turns into him being jealous of others who do receive said approval or surpass him in certain abilities.

But deep down, he has a good heart. Most of his desire for recognition and being the best of the best is out of a need to protect his loved ones. Out of a fear that he can't save them all when their time comes.

The only person that truly sees Bo's complete soft, unguarded side is Ollie, though a handful of his closest friends and loved ones see some of that side too.

Mojito ~ does your oc have any tattoos and/or piercings? if so, what are they? if not, do they want any?

Bo has standard earlobe piercings, and no tattoos. I don't think he'd have any interest in tattoos unless they served some sort of magical function, like a rune of some kind.

The only other time he's had "tattoos" is when he becomes a warlock and receives the mark of his patron.
