Chapter 12
UH OH
SEE HERE FOR GENERAL WARNINGS AND FIC SUMMARY
Some pre-chapter notes:
trying to move away from writing toko like chunsoft and adding more to her character (she's traumatized she wants to be loved but she's going about it in the worst way) but in the end none of her actions are condoned. she's fucked up still sorry but written in a more sympathetic light i hope?
syo WILL be in this fic but i do my best to make her hand-wavy explanation ambiguous (fuck whatever canon says about 'textbook split personality' btw)
@moonlighttogami and @tokiwigiwi :)
Content warning tags: implication of stalking/blackmail, Toko-expected creepiness, use of violence, character death

He’s not sure how much time passes when the door opens again.
“Finally,” He huffs, not bothering to turn. “Took you long enough. Honestly, how long does it take-”
He halts, as the intruder steps into the room, and quickly clicks his handbook shut. These weren’t Makoto’s footsteps. And - he surreptitiously covers his nose - that wasn’t Makoto’s smell. But he knows whose it was.
“...Toko. What do you want.” He turns and glares at the girl who has intruded on his space. She fidgets where she stands, a thin shadow of dark purple. The smell of her has grown stronger over the past few weeks, and hangs around her like a miasma.
“M-master Byakuya…”
He feels a full-bodied shiver of disgust run over his skin. “Don’t call me that.”
She ignores him, and carries on. “A-about last night…”
Right. To be completely honest, he was hoping that he had scared her enough the night before to make her leave him alone entirely. But he’s not surprised either; if she had the nerve to blatantly try and look at his secret, it wasn’t surprising that she had the boldness to try and confront him like this.
“What about last night.” He says stiffly, and she jumps as if shocked.
“I-I know about your eyes!” She blurts at last. “A-and, I know Ch-Chihiro knows it too…I, I heard you t-talking about it i-in the b-bathhouse last night…”
He feels his lip curling, revolted. Of course she had eavesdropped; she was quickly proving to be one of the more annoying stalkers he’d ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The number of people who were aware of his condition was also rapidly increasing against his will. At this point he might as well do the same as Fujisaki and announce it out loud.
Fukawa continues in her irritating stutter. “A-and…y-your envelope…” He freezes immediately, suddenly latching on to her every word.
“What did it say?” He demands, and she flinches - shivers? - arms crossing over her torso.
“I-if I t-tell you, y-you won’t w-want anything to d-do with m-me anymore…” She mutters, seemingly to herself, and he feels another wave of revulsion roll over him.
“Out with it. I already want nothing to do with you, but if you don’t speak up now-”
What will he do? He tries to come up with a threat that can hold actual weight, but they all sound pathetic, even to himself. If only Makoto were here, he could at least get him to chase her away…how long does it take to talk to three people, anyways?
Ironically, it’s Fukawa who saves him from having to think of something. “I-I know you’re r-really mad at m-me for r-reading your secret last night,” She continues, and she’s swaying slightly, as if drunk. “U-um, I-I promise n-not to t-tell anyone! About your eyes, o-or your envelope…a-and, I’ll t-tell you mine, t-too.”
“I’m not interested.” He says flatly. “Tell me what was written in my envelope. Now.”
She shakes her head instead. “I-I know th-there’s no way for you t-to have r-read yours yet, right? S-so only I know!” The light catches on her spectacles, and it gives the illusion of two, illuminated orbs on her face. “W-which makes me m-more special than M-Makoto, or Chihiro, right?”
She sounds deranged. Her voice is pitched with desperation, and she’s breathing heavily. She takes a step closer. “I-I know all your s-secrets, and once y-you know mine…s-so you can r-rely on me, m-more than Makoto, o-or Chihiro?” Another step, and the floorboard creaks. “I-I’ll do better than th-them! And, and I can accept you f-for all your secrets, s-so, you don’t n-need them, I promise!”
“Stay back.” He snaps, shifting backwards. The revulsion was curdling, mixing with fear, and crawling down his back like something physical, like the vile, unwanted sensation of fingernails, tickling over his skin. He hates this irrational panic - she was just a girl, and a pathetic one at that - but here he was, shying away anyways, unable to discern her next move, her intentions. “I’m warning you-”
She lurches forward, and he takes an inadvertent step back. His back meets the bookshelf; he was trapped. “S-so don’t get scared,” She says, though these words really only have the opposite effect on him. “D-do you remember the news, a few y-years back? A-about Genocider S-Syo?”
Genocider Syo? The name sounds familiar, but it takes him a moment to place where he’s heard it before. It was a few years before he enrolled at Hope’s Peak, while in transit to some social gathering or another; Pennyworth had left the car radio tuned to the local news.
“The serial killer?” He asks aloud, as he subtly searches the shelves behind him, trying to find something to use as a weapon. The tip of his index finger catches on the spine of a large, plastic-bound copy of some textbook or another, and he leverages it slowly out of the shelf, feeling sweat beginning to slicken its cover.
She nods eagerly, her braids bouncing. “I-I knew you’d kn-know about it,” She sounds relieved, somehow, voice breathless. “Y-you know, th-the first place Syo turned up was the town w-where I was b-born…i-it was my f-first crush that was the f-first victim, y’know?”
It clicks together quickly for him. The radio announcer had described bloody and ugly scenes of murder, the displayed corpses of young men and boys, all attributed to a mysterious killer with a penchant for stabbing their victims. And now standing before him was a clearly-deranged, unwell girl, well-known for her romance novels, and apparently obsessed with him.
“I-it’s okay!” She says hurriedly, as he presses himself closer to the shelf. “Sh-she only c-comes out when I-I’m really t-tired, o-or if I see b-blood…b-but, I c-can control her! I am controlling her, I promise!” She steps forward again, and this close, he can see the sickly flush on her face, the shine of sweat - tears? - down her cheeks. “I’ve b-been working s-so hard, s-so she won’t h-hurt anyone again…so it’s o-okay! I c-can be good! See?” She hiccups slightly, she must be crying. He can’t imagine why. “S-so now we can be equal, r-right?!”
She staggers towards him again, and he reacts before he can even think twice about it, yanking the book from its shelf and swinging blindly. The edge catches her across the face, whipping it sharply to the side with a sickly crack and a squeal - there’s a crest of blood, splattering up the length of the book, he can feel a few warm drops splash his hand, the skin crawling where it landed - and she crashes against the shelves with a shriek, stumbling.
“Why?!” She wails, hands shooting to her face. She sounds genuinely distraught, and she shakes as she scrubs at her nose with her palms. “I-I told you m-my biggest secret, a-and I kn-know yours…w-why won’t you tr-trust me?!”
“Trust you?!” He laughs, mirthless and a little frenzied, pitched wildly with his thudding heart. “You repulse me.” He steps forward now, book still clutched in his shaking hand. “Why would I ever trust a murderer in a killing game?”
She flinches as if his words were more physical blows, stumbling away from him and knocking against the shelf. A few books rain down, thudding open on the floor. “I-It’s not me,” She babbles, clutching at her head. “S-Syo - she’s j-just s-someone else, she’s in m-me, b-but I can c-control her, I p-promise - sh-she’s not me, she’s not me, she’s not!”
It sounds vaguely like some dramatized description of a split personality, though Byakuya had never heard of any such disorder that matched Fukawa’s apparently extreme case. Whatever the girl had going on would probably warrant its own DSM volume, but he wasn’t particularly interested in that. “I don’t care if she’s a ghost that’s possessing you or a secret twin taking your place. I want nothing to do with either of you.”
“B-but-”
“Get out.” He snarls, chest heaving. “If I hear anything - anything - on my condition, I will make you wish you were dead.” She doesn’t move, and he feels his teeth clench enough to creak. “I said, OUT.”
She darts, stumbling and stepping through one of the piles of boxes on the floor, completely breaking through the lid. Whatever was inside it stays looped around her ankle as she kicks the lid off, and clicks against the floor as she sprints away, her sobs fading as she goes.
___
For safety, he blocks off the door to the library with the chair, jamming it beneath the handles.
Then, he waits for Makoto, pacing, agitated. Really, how long could it take to accompany one person to talk to three people? His clock in his handbook stated that hardly an hour had passed since Makoto first left, and ten minutes since he sent Fukawa away. Surely, he had to be coming back eventually?
Not that there was anything keeping Byakuya in the library, other than his own uncertainty regarding his safety. Considering that he knew Fukawa’s alternate identity, and her apparent infatuation with him, it would be foolish to make the trek back to his room alone.
He stops pacing, frustration and restlessness boiling over. And returns to the files, shuffling through them, handbook held aloft to read the names printed on the edge of each folder, ignoring the ones that clatter to the ground after he shoves them haphazardly back. Finally, he comes across the one he's looking for, and slides it out of the shelf.
The front of it is stamped with the title in silver: ‘The Murder Cases of Genocider Syo: Top Secret’. He flips it open.
The text is interspersed with images of the victims before and after their unfortunate encounters with Fukawa. He can’t make much out about them, other than the fact that all the murder scenes seemed similar enough; photos of pale bodies, stretched out as if crucified, splattered with blood. Their faces, which must have been twisted with agony, are merely dark smudges.
“...As with the other cases, at the scene of the crime the word ‘BLOODLUST’ was written with the victim’s blood,” Alter Ego reads aloud. “The scissors used in the murder were apparently custom-made, with every pair left at each murder scene seeming to be of the same material and construction…”
How vile. He flips through the pages (one of which is annoyingly wrinkled, and furthermore, smudged with dirt), reading through the victim's descriptions. There was a sort of morbid curiosity that drew him to read further, even as his stomach turned with the knowledge that he could end up like one of these men; pinned like a butterfly for the killer to admire and laud over.
He snaps the file shut at last, feeling nauseous, and sinks down with his back against the shelf, suddenly exhausted - the adrenaline from Fukawa’s confrontation is gone, leaving behind a bone-deep fatigue. Sluggishly, he categorizes what he knows:
One: Fukawa was also Genocider Syo, a notorious serial killer who targeted young men.
Two: Fukawa both knew he was blind, and the contents of his envelope. He reaches into his pocket and feels for it, the paper now crinkled and warped. He still can’t bring himself to try and use Alter Ego to read its contents, but so long as Fukawa knew…there was little he could do about it.
That brought him to three: Fukawa was apparently obsessed with him. That was clear from the start, but he underestimated how dangerous her infatuation was. What she wanted from him was, apparently, some kind of romanticized relationship, if her mutterings about mutually sharing secrets and calling him ‘master’ was anything to go by, but nothing that could possibly be built on equal footing. Not if she was trying to leverage the envelope’s contents and his blindness against him.
He pauses at that. Did Fukawa know he was capable of using Alter Ego through his handbook to read? If she did, then there was no point in her trying to hold it over him. But then that meant she might try to manipulate him in other ways, the most simplest being blackmail. For that, he’d need to silence her…
And to do that, I would need to kill.
He drums his fingers against the hardwood floor. It’d be hard, but he could do it. She was already fixated on him, it should be easy enough to lure her somewhere and take care of her, either with a blunt-force weapon or strangulation - stabbing was too messy with the blood splatter - but the real difficulty then was how to conceal his tracks.
He thinks for a moment of Maizono, and how she had swapped rooms with Makoto solely for this intention. He thought her foolish then, but in hindsight, it really was an impressive display of quick thinking…though, it wasn’t one that he could copy.
What if he did it in a shared space? In one of the empty classrooms? People hardly went into these rooms, and it’d be harder to pin down the culprit. But he’d have to be fast about it, and careful; anyone who sees him or Fukawa entering that space, or leaving it, could easily identify him as the suspect. It’d have to happen at night.
But, she’s also smarter than she looks… He rubs at his temples now, frowning. She might see the similarities between this and Maizono’s attempt, and realize it’s a trap. I can’t risk that. It’d be easier if I could easily pin it on someone, but the amount of people who might be stupid or willing enough to let themselves be used…
The list was very short. Makoto, who was already a non-option. Yamada, who was too closely allied with Celeste to be trusted. Hagakure, who was too paranoid to be easily led into anything anyways...
And Chihiro.
He’s suddenly struck with the realization that if he succeeds, the others die. It would not be just one person’s blood on his hands, it would be multiple, including those he chooses not to directly involve. He hesitates, for an instant - and then lowers his hands slowly, a sense of defeat settling over him.
He’s already failed before he even started. This game could only have one winner, and if he could not fully commit himself to that role and accept the consequences of it, then he was never a real competitor to begin with. Circles within circles. He was back to the start.
Frustration isn’t something he’s unfamiliar with, but it’s been a long time since he’s felt so overwhelmed with it, as he tilts his head back, knocking it against the shelf as he stares blankly at the brown fog of the ceiling. And then slams a fist against the floor, hissing venomous, ugly curses under his breath. If only he had his eyes, again - he wouldn’t need to be so concerned with such things, wouldn’t need to waver - and yet.
Where the hell is Makoto? He thinks numbly, exhausted with it all. He was sick of being left with nothing but his nerves, and how long did it take to talk to just three people anyways?
Thump, thump, thump.
A rhythmic banging snaps him out of his thoughts. For a moment, he thinks it’s coming from the door, and clumsily pushes himself up, while fumbling for something, anything, to use as a weapon - his hands find the hard, stiff cover of a case file, still on the floor - and stares down the door, waiting for someone to break through it-
But nothing. The chair that’s stuck under the doorknob hasn’t even budged, from what he can tell. The banging continues, and he realizes it sounds more like hammering than knocking. It wasn’t even against the library door.
Construction? Hagakure did mention hearing construction sounds earlier. Was Monokuma building something again?
The sound ends, replaced by footsteps approaching his door. He tenses, taking a step back, but a moment later, the footsteps patter down the hall and away, fading out of earshot.
He stays where he is for a long moment, caught between terror and curiosity. Curiosity wins out, and he steps slowly to the door, hesitating once more with one hand on the chair.
But before he can even do anything, the air is pierced by a blood-curdling scream, and he throws the chair away, yanking the door open-
Only to be met with the sight of Chihiro Fujisaki’s corpse.

Random danganronpa boys when y/n is sad because they got hurt by someone(part 2)
TW: yandere themes, mild descriptive gore, swearing
Info: headcanons, yandere, comfort, fluff, gn reader, lowercase on purpose, reader is in a relationship with the yanderes, reader is smaller or same height as the yanderes, reader is aware/accepting of the yanderes, no killing game, just despair
Key: y/n, darling is reader
Note: did the girls, now doing the boys
Characters: byakuya togami, mondo owada, kiyotaka ishimaru, nagito komaeda, fuyuhiko kuzuryu, kaito momota, kokichi oma
♡ byakuya togami ♡
offended >:0 how dare someone hurt his darling?
thinks about hiring a hitman, or better, paying a gang to torture that person for days on end. he can get anything done with his money. would rather not get his own hands(too) dirty, it might cause him problems
people might suspect him at first. he'll just make something up. if they still suspect him, he gets some people(toko and makoto) to stand up for him to make his alibi believable. gets y/n to do it too(lol)
not very good at comfort. good at buying y/n things(he’s a rich boy). will buy them clothes, jewelry, chocolate. if y/n wants a hug, he’ll be hesitant, but will give in eventually(it’s not that he doesn’t want to, intimacy is strange to him). uses his free hand to cover the blush on his face ‘cause he’s flustered
“sigh… ok, calm down already. listen. they’re the foolish one, not you. they were dumb enough to think they could hurt you without a punishment. understand? good.”
♡ mondo owada ♡
mad. no. more than mad. he’s furious
hits that person in the face, making their nose bleed(in front of everybody). doesn’t want to kill them at that moment, would rather keep that impulse on hold(as much as he can) until he gets the person to a secluded area. kills them instantly, not(necessarily) the sadistic type to want to take long to see the person’s pain
knows at least enough on how to hide the murder. tries his best to play it cool to avoid any suspicion. if he’s confronted by others, he can get nervous, which can cause him to say some things he shouldn’t say. but his bro(taka) will defend him at all costs, not having a single clue of what he did
gives y/n a hug, brings them to places on his motorcycle, letting them wear his jacket. probably lets them sleep on top of him(he’ll be blushing like mad)
“it’s okay, y/n. fuck them. they’re just a fuckin’ asshole. making you feel that way and all. it ain’t your fault. they’re gonna regret ever doing that! they will.”
♡ kiyotaka ishimaru ♡
what? how could they do that? and to his darling y/n?
more of the type to scold the person if they did something else but this… this crosses the line for him. hurting y/n and not getting in trouble? not on his watch. kills the person even if it goes against what he stands for. someone hurts y/n, they get the worst coming to them
almost nobody would suspect him. he just seems like the type who wouldn’t kill. he just keeps on his day to day life doing his job(and his other job, which is taking care of y/n)
doesn’t let anyone near y/n(except mondo and chihiro), studies with y/n and teaches them about important topics to keep their mind off the pain, brings them food and water, doesn’t let them go anywhere without him. he just wants y/n to be safe and happy
“y/n, please, you have to understand. you’re better than them! they don’t understand! if they did, they wouldn’t have hurt you. and they really shouldn’t have.”
♡ nagito komaeda ♡
surprised. asks himself how someone could hurt his darling. disgust towards the person who hurt y/n
asks hajime to watch over y/n while he’s away, doing what he must do. he considers the person hopeless since they ended up dying at the ultimate hope’s hands. they’re just a talentess scum to him. he has always saw himself as trash, but that person is much more trash to him than he ever thought of himself to be
people have always seen him as quite a strange young man. suspicious, but maybe not enough to suspect him of murder. he’s just… strange to them. he can keep rambling on about how he loves hope and nobody would see anything different(not realizing the hope he talks about is his beloved y/n)
gives y/n anything they want(as long as he can do it). y/n wants a hug? has his arms open. y/n wants a kiss? he puckers up. y/n wants him to sleep with them? already laying on the bed. his darling is his only hope. he needs to protect them
“i know trash like me can’t tell you how much you matter, but, from the bottom of my heart, you’re the most beautiful, most precious thing in the world. and i would never change you for anyone else. never.”
♡ fuyuhiko kuzuryu ♡
angry. ready to kill the person. asks y/n for some details
brings peko along to murder the person. plans to make it agonizing for the person. no mercy. just despair. they will feel the wrath of the ultimate yakuza. that’s what they get for messing with y/n
people are afraid to interrogate him and his ‘tool’. they know it’ll get nasty if they try to fight against the ultimate yakuza and the ultimate swordswoman. they know he won’t hesitate to plan a murder or ambush against them
buys y/n sweets, holds y/n’s hand, doesn’t let them leave to go anywhere. if they want something, they can just ask him. he doesn’t want them to get hurt again
“that motherfucker… they don’t deserve any shit. they don’t deserve any fuckin’ breath of life. i’m gonna fuck them up real bad!”
♡ kaito momota ♡
shocked and full of rage. how could they hurt his shining star y/n?
walks up to that person and hits them with his fist. hits them even more. ends up with the person bleeding and having a broken bone. they might end up dying. if they don’t, he’ll use something else to end them. he doesn’t want them around y/n anymore for what they did
nobody considers him to be suspicious. just an eccentric, hyperactive, space loving guy who has a big heart. but his classmates don’t even realize his big heart is only for y/n. he would do anything for them. anything. as the luminary of the stars, it’s his duty to protect his darling
cuddles with y/n, gives them forehead kisses, brings y/n outside to watch the night sky as he teaches them about constellations
“damn y/n, i just can’t believe they would do that! and to my shining star! but don’t worry! from now on, i won’t let it happen again. i promise! nobody should ever hurt you… nobody.”
♡ kokichi oma ♡
oh he’s really mad. but he won’t show it, he’ll play it off like it’s nothing
very sneaky when it comes to killing the person. he may make somebody else do it for him if he feels that would be the best course of action. but he might want to do it himself. he wants to see the pain in that person’s eyes as he tortures them
people will suspect him. after all, he’s known for lying. but he knows what to say, how to play with people’s minds, how to make them believe him. he can also blame it on somebody else and make it seem like it was them, not him. there may be people who still suspect him but are kind of afraid to accuse him. they don’t know what else he’s capable of other than lying
tries to make y/n laugh, brings them their favorite snacks, trash talks the person, lets them hug him if they need it(but also because he wants to be held by y/n)
“hey, cheer up! they’re soooo stupid to think they could get away with making you feel upset. they must be the dumbest person on the planet to even think of doing that. they must be…since they died so easily.”

Maka vs Crona episode 20-21
When writing fiction, there are many points that can end up becoming the defining moment where a story peaks as a tale.
The final climax is ideally when this happens, and the amount of times when that is the case aren't exactly rare.
However it is just as common for stories to peak early.
Goku versus Freeza on Namek is generally considered far, far better than Goku's many, many following bouts, Tolkiens battles of Helm's Deep and the Pellenor fields, climaxing with Aragon's sudden appearance with the rest of the Southern Gondor Forces is generally remembered far more than the battle at the black gate or the scouring of the shire, while One Piece has tried, and failed consistently to recapture the glory that was Water 7 and Enies Lobby that together formed the absolute best story in Shonen.
As for Soul Eater, wheter looking at the Anime, or the Manga, it is not exactly a controversial statement that neither qualifies as it's absolute best. The manga ended on a terrible note, while the Anime while sticking true to it's themes, didnt quite hit the landing as good as it could have.
What both have in common though, is the moment where their tales peaked.
Tumblr media
The Rematch between Crona Gorgon and Maka Albarn beneath the halls of the school leading up to the ressurection of Kishin Asura.
Rematches are always a fun thing in fiction, for a variety of reasons.
The most obvious is simply seeing how characters have grown or regressed since last time they brawled, but the simple fact is that rematches are baked into stories where there is conflict.
The Hero suffering an early loss, then facing their earlier foe only to emerge thriumphant is baked into the Storytelling DNA of the Human race. It's one of the most important parts of the Hero's journey for a reason, and you will find COUNTLESS examples of it, especially in shonen, which thrives on conflict and battles between individuals.
Ichigo vs Byakuya, Luffy vs Crocodile/Lucci/Katakuri/Kizaru/etc, team 7 vs Zabuza, and so on.
In the case of Soul Eater's rematch, on paper, and how it's set upon it's start, this battle is very much set up as a classic revenge rematch. Crona and Ragnarok obliterated Maka and Soul the last time they met, and now it's time to turn the tables.
Tumblr media
It starts off with a kickass action scene where Maka has learned from her mistakes in the earlier fight, and so uses Crona as a punching bag rather than something to cut...
It event has both combatants trash talking the other... Everything is set up for a good grudge match.
The funny thing is though, that this could not be further from what this fight is actually about.
Tumblr media
Because after that exciting action opening, that is meant to contrast with the first one sided fight, it almost immediatly switch gears to what it is actually about.
Maka and Crona as people, their flaws, their strenght, how both of them act as foils and mirrors, and brings out sides from the other that the story has not shown us before.
The first such moment is a follow-up to something Crona said in their first match.
"I don't know how to handle pretty girls"
That was a compliment, though obviously not meant as direct flirting, and this new line isnt either.
"S-stop. I can't look directly at people with big, strong eyes."
Crona looks at Maka as, in her own way someone to be admired... Because Maka has something Crona does not, and wants. Confidence, strenght, beauty.
Crona is both terrified of Maka... But also admires her at the same time.
The trash talk has nothing to do with bravery, or even looking down on Maka... Instead it's an attempt at putting up a brave front so the problem at hand will go away... But the moment Maka refuses to do so, and instead stares Crona down, Crona immediatly begins to crumble and instictively back down in front of Maka's cool and confident gaze.
Tumblr media
Also while the fight goes on, a lot things happens concurrently. Not much of it is important for the Fight, but the other big battle taking place, is. Medusa vs Stein and Spirit.
This fight has two purposes, in regards to Maka vs Crona. The first is to give us Medusa's opinion and testimony regarding how she raised Crona, and thus we, the audience does not need Crona to make a long monologue about their past while talking to Maka.
Tumblr media
The Second is contrast.
Spirit is absolutely certain that his little girl will win this fight. He has the bravery to trust in her, and her capacities, even after what happened the last time she fought Crona.
Tumblr media
By contrast Medusa believes Crona will win because of logic, and calls spirit's faith in Maka "Blind Parental Love."
The funny thing is, they are both right.
Crona IS stronger than Maka... Yet Maka will ulimately win.
Their conversation also serves to contrast both of their children, and how they grew up. Medusa raised Crona as a weapon that is desperate for her approval and love. This will in turn be hammered in by Crona's own rather depressing flashback.
Meanwhile Maka was raised with love and care. It was not a perfect home by any stretch, brought down by adultery, abandonment and the blame game as everyone blames someone else, rather than accept the bigger picture(Maka blames her dad for everything rather than fully accept that her mother abandoned her, Spirit blames himself for his weakness rather than lay any blame at his exwife for abandoning his daughter and running off rather than take the parental responsibility she took claim too by fighting for Maka's custody, while mrs Albarn used her husband's infidelity as an excuse/justification to in turn abandon her own child).
Ultimately what this fight is all about, is both of these children finally beginning their journey to healing from the wounds left behind by their childhoods.
It also shows the values both Medusa and Spirit passed on to their children. Medusa twisted her child by instilling values like not killing... Then deliberatly forced her child to either break those values, or lose her affection, speciffically to emotionally break Crona down into an obedient weapon.
By contrast, Spirit, upon hearing Crona's backstory reacts with compassion, empathy, and understanding. And as the fight between Maka and Crona rages on, Maka will make it clear, that despite all of her protestantions to the contrary, she is her father's child.
The fight that follows between the next generation is a nice spectacle, but the next important development comes as both of the two meisters soul ressonance with their weapons, with Maka betting it all on her Witch Hunter, her strongest move...
Tumblr media
And Crona completely blocks it with no problems, with a simple armguard, breaking the technique.
This moment is important for two reasons.
The first is the way it hammers in the point and themes that will later be repeated beat for beat during the climax of the series where Asura does this exact same thing to Maka's strongest technique in terms of raw power in either the manga or the anime, the Kishin Hunter, the same move that Shinigami used to beat and batter Asura around with ease.
Strength and Power will NOT beat madness and fear.
You cannot defeat fear, lonliness and depression by strength of arms, no matter how strong you are.
That is why ultimately Black Star and Kid will all ultimately fail to defeat Asura, and why Shinigami at his prime ultimately could not do it either, being forced to simply seal Asura away instead. Because every one of them faced this problem of trying to conquer their fears by using overwhelming force.
And they failed. Just like Maka fails here.
To defeat it you need something more, something completely different than might and power.
The second thing, and why this specific moment is what prompts Crona into going into a flashback right now, is that upon blocking Maka's best attack with ease, Crona suddenly has a spike of confidence, and lashes out, and brings Maka to her knees.
Tumblr media
And it brings us into the next section of the fight, as we explore another aspect of fear, madness, and bravery.
"Weakness can imitate strength if bound properly, just as cowardice can imitate heroism if given nowhere to flee."
This is not a quote from Soul Eater, instead being from the Stormlight Archives, but it encapsulates the Theme of the next section of the fight perfectly.
Crona is not brave. The sudden burst of confidence did not lead to a turn around where Crona confidently and bravely defeated Maka in combat.
It was the lashing out of a scared child with nowhere to run, who HAS to win this fight, even if Crona does not want to be here at all. That one moment simply gave Crona the push to unleash an overwhelming assault of power that Maka could not match.
Weakness can masquarade as strength, and Cowardice can pretend to be bravery if it has nowhere to flee.
Which is why this in turn leads Crona compares Maka to the first creature Medusa forced Crona to kill.
The Fact is Crona has no idea how to interact with Maka, either as an enemy, a rival, someone who Crona finds Attractive and cool, or just a human being in general... So it sorta just jumbles together into a mess.
But Crona has not had the option of running away from either of their two fights, and so has been forced to actually interact with Maka, and so is completely all over the map in how to deal with her. Sometimes it sounds like Crona is hitting on her, cause she's an attractive girl as far as Crona is concerned, sometimes Crona puts up a brave face, sometimes tries to decisively kill her, and so on.
Which is why this in turn leads Crona compares Maka to the first creature Medusa forced Crona to kill.
Tumblr media
We don't really know exactly how Medusa raised Crona before this point, but there are several important points to note here.
Crona understands at some level here that killing is, fundamentally wrong. When Medusa tells Crona to murder this thing, Crona does not want to do it, nor how to actually muster the will to actually kill.
That tells us 2. things.
1. is that Medusa deliberately raised Crona to be unprepared for this task. As Crona's mother, it would have been incredibly easy for her to raise her child with a far, far more viscious and brutal attitude against killing other living things.
But that is not what Medusa wanted. She wanted a broken and obedient weapon, an experiment she wanted to test and prod to see the reactions out of.
She WANTS Crona to not go through with it, and to be reluctant to do it at all, in order for the subsequent "Lesson" regarding obeying her speciffically no matter what, would hit as hard as it possibly could.
Tumblr media
Upon little Crona's refusal to go through with it, she then locks Crona in a dark room with no food or water for days, alone with Ragnarok that bullies and beats Crona up for failing at the "task".
And when Crona still doesnt immidiatly go through with it, she throws Crona right back in, and blames it on her own kid again, hammering in the "lesson" that this Crona's own fault for being a "Bad kid".
this is all brutal, but it leads us into the second point to take from the way she raised Crona before this.
Crona WANTS affection from other people... But Medusa only gives it on a conditional basis, but also very deliberatly isolates Crona from ANYONE ELSE to the point where Crona doesnt even have contact with animals.
In the end, this does lead to Crona finally going through with it.
There is a very deliberate difference at this point between Manga and Anime though.
In the Manga, the animal that Medusa wanted Crona to kill was a defenseless, cute bunny, to further hammer in just how defenceless it is. The anime though, probably for censorship reasons was forced to drop this imagery... So they did something better instead, that connects it to what Maka and Soul are about to do.
Tumblr media
in the anime, the animal is a small, dragon, unicorn thing that breathes fire, and upon first meeting it, Crona is for obvious reasons terrified of this thing, flinching away as it unleashes a jet of flame.
But after being starved, denied water, and physically abused by Ragnarok, Crona is let out from the room a third time. And this time, the reality that if Crona does not murder this thing, it will be right back to the room has set in... So when the dragon thing breathes fire right at Crona's face again, Crona doesnt even Flinch.
The fear is not gone though. it's just that with nowhere to flee, Crona mimics bravery, by embraces madness in order to not have to deal with the very real fear at facing the fire.
Tumblr media
Crona is able to pretend to be both strong, and brave, by giving all in to madness.
The funny thing is though... Maka and Soul do the EXACT same thing.
Tumblr media
Upon their tactic of just throw themselves in to the fight and hope to crush Crona with overwhelming force and power doesnt work, they instead decide to try to beat Crona and Ragnarok at their own game, by giving all in to the power of the black blood that makes Crona so powerful, with no heed of the dangers of embracing madness.
Tumblr media
This moment, and the subsequent beatdown that Maka delivers is probably the single most iconic moment in the soul eater franchise.
Maka going completely nuts, completely unheeding of danger or any sense of tactics or morality, as she kicks Crona's ass, is Soul Eater's best action scene as it not only is visually stunning and entertaining to watch... but PERFECTLY encapsulates the stories Themes.
Maka wants to win this fight, and so she throws herself into a course of action that at first glance might seem to be brave... Giving up your sanity for power to win.
If Soul Eater was a story about people sacrificing themselves for the greater good, this might work, but it's not.
Soul Eater is ultimately a story about bravery, and bonds. About how it's people coming together despite all their differences, that makes life so worth living.
Sacrificing yourself... or others, is the cowards way out. It solves nothing.
Maka is not brave as she faces Crona withouth a hint of fear. Just like Crona prentended to be brave in order to have the capacity to kill that dragon thing, so Maka pretends to be brave by throwing away all her fears and sanity for power.
Tumblr media
And in the end, embracing Madness only leads to Maka munching and gnawing on Crona's skull, having completely lost her marbles.
It's a different kind of defeat, but it still harkens back to her previous failure.
You cannot defeat fear by removing it, and pretending it isn't there... no more than you can do it with power.
Tumblr media
Having completely lost herself to madness at this point, the only possibility left for Maka at this point, is to reassess her surroundings, and pull herself back from the edge.
And so, pulling on her speciality as a meister, her ability to sense and read souls, she begins that journey by reconnecting to her own soul, noting how it's such a small and fragile thing... surrounded by madness, it's so easy to fall in... And that's withouth jumping head first like she and Soul did.
And of course, being directly connected to her through the black blood currently steeping her very being, she also feels the soul of her best friend and partner Soul Eater Evans, a twisted, yet great guy who is always willing to listen to her, even when she's being selfish.
Tumblr media
It is then though that Maka is drawn to another soul, one that fascinates her far more than either her own, or Soul Eater's soul.
Tumblr media
Now the anime doesnt fully make it clear why Maka is immediatly so facinated by this soul... Crona's soul, but it's very clear that she is immediatly drawn to seek it out.
Tumblr media
The manga however, makes the reasoning abundantly clear. She finds the soul beautiful for reasons she probably doesnt fully understand herself.
Regardless, she bonds with it, embracing it, and what it holds inside just like she did with her own soul, craddling it to her heart as she delves into it's mysteries.
Tumblr media
It's mysteries is a beach with no water, an unatural thing, where there should be beauty and life, and yet is as as devoid of both as the desert it so resembles.
This is Crona's soulscape, the defining mental landscape of the young Demon swordmaster's psyche, as defining for Crona as Soul's jazz and piano room is for him.
Tumblr media
It is here that we meet Crona's inner self, a young child, who deliberately draws a circle to be separate from the world... And yet so, so badly wants there to be someone, ANYONE else there.
And yet, when a companion appears, Crona's own shadow, Crona rejects it in a sad, yet resigned way, refusing to answer questions, passing on every one of them, until finally driving the shadow away as it becomes frustrated.
Now the questions are important in how Crona feels, but the actual takeaway isnt the answers, but how Crona refuses to respond to any of them, even completely obvious ones.
Tumblr media
Crona does not know how to do so. Medusa's parenting and deliberate isolating her own child from any form of interactions besides her has completely and totally stunted Crona's growth, hence why here, inside Crona's own head it's back to the childhood self, not the teenage years Crona has entered into.
Which brings us to Crona's relationship with Maka. As bizarre as it might seem, Crona's interactions with Maka is the closest thing to actual socialization with another human being besides Medusa that Crona has ever had.
Because Maka by virtue of opposing Crona and refusing to back down has forced Crona out of that figurative sand circle, and actually had to interact with someone else. It was all over the place, but it was real, genuine, human interaction.
Hence why Crona thinks back to Maka in this moment as the shadow leaves, yet another lost opportunity that Crona let slip for interaction.
Tumblr media
it's at this point that Maka, having now fully connected to Crona's soul, makes her appearance, in the form of her younger self with an adorable, lion's roar, scaring Crona, who protests that nobody else can be here, that this is where Crona is supposed to be alone from anyone else.
Maka does not care, and instead, upon being told of the circle's supposed purpose, destroys it by literarily stamping it out.
This completely destabilzes Crona's entire soul.
And upon returning to the physical plane, having left behind the Black blood and it's madness, Maka is face to face to a Crona who is having a form of seizure. All the methaphysical and psycological barriers that Crona has put up against the world have now been broken by Maka's actions, and is currently taking the form of the black blood inside of Crona's body shooting out everywhere in the form of spikes.
Tumblr media
From a tactical perspective, this is a great development. Crona is wide open and immobilized, so now is either the perfect time to take another shot with Witch Hunter, or to just leave Crona behind to go join Kid and Black Star.
However, things have changed.
Tumblr media
instead of doing either of those, Maka leaves Soul behind(much to his suprise and confusion), and withouth a weapon, completely calmly, walks up towards Crona, while talking in a kind, calm tone... The kind one does to someone who is freaking out and needs help.
And she keeps going forwards, despite the spikes that keep shooting forward almost impaling her every time.
Tumblr media
In many ways, it resembles the kind of just abandoning fear to try to overcome it that she just tried to use to win this fight... But it's not.
Maka UNDERSTANDS Crona now. She knows what drives Crona to the core... And so she believes that Crona does not want to hurt her.
She doesnt know this. She fully understands that Crona might just kill her on accident... But she does it anyway.
She takes the risk that comes with this march forward, because she WANTS to connect further with Crona. Crona needs help, and maka wants to give that help.
That is bravery. True bravery, not the kind of bravado that drove her to take Crona on to begin with because she wanted to avenge her previous loss.
It is also insane. Pure madness... And yet it works.
Tumblr media
Once more, she connects her soul to Crona, but this time, it's the opposite way, instead of delving into Crona's soul, she instead opens her own heart to Crona, to show that she understands.
Crona in response completely calms down, and after Maka lays out that she finally understands how Crona has never had anyone reach out and offer human contact before, Crona is... suprisingly at peace.
Crona still thinks that Medusa will now move and and that the time has come for mom to make good on her promises that Crona is expendable... And yet it somehow doesnt matter anymore.
Crona long ago gave up hope for physical, and emotional human contact with anyone, and now that someone finally has given Crona just that... That's enough.
It's time for Crona to just dissapear into the ether... To which Maka, very softly, but firmly delivers one of her book chops to get Crona's attention and out of the ending it all mindset.
Tumblr media
Rather than let Crona continue on in this suicidal mindset, Maka instead takes the next step, and offers Crona the one thing that surpasses even the low, low bar of basic human contact and compassion. Her hand in friendship.
An offer that brings Crona to total tears of happiness and joy, and as the two of them grabs the others hands, they once more bare their souls to the other, while Soul Eater Evans looks on, and addmits to himself that Crona's great fear, of contact with other people is a fear that he too shares.
Just like Crona... And just like Maka, he too ran away from that very thing... But as the Manga shows in his thoughts, despite running away from his brother, he managed to find the very thing he ran away here at this school, in the form of Maka, blair, black star, tsubaki, death the kid, liz and patty... just like Crona now found Maka.
It's an astonishingly strong and powerful fight that encapsulates absolutely every theme and idea about bravery, madness, human companionship that the story had, while utilizing it's cast to the fullest, while also making use of it's power system to forge one of the strongest bonds in Manga.
However, we still have one final thing to discuss before we're done.
Tumblr media
as we get as shot of Maka and Crona in Crona's soul scape once again, this time happy and smiling, hand in hand, the ocean finally begins, turning the desolate sands into beauty, washing over and then pulling back again, leaving the landscape actually alive, rather than the desolate, and lifeless void it was, and we end the episode on a special animation for the ending credit song.
That song is Soul Eater's second ending Theme, Style, and as we do a deep dive over Maka and Crona's development, we need to also go over it, and what it means, while also answering another question.
Why did Maka appear in the form of her kid self when she dove into Crona's soul scape?
the answer ties into why Maka and Crona made such incredible good foils and parallels for each other in this episode, and why both of them ultimately forged such a powerfull bond from these events.
Style you see, is a story told from the point of view of a child who is just making a new best friend by taking a risk and opening their door. It's about adults desperate to forge a "perfect future" like cogs in a machine, rather living in the moment, embracing everything as it comes, and asking god to make sure to record every one of the memories so they would be able to look back at these moments forever.
It is very much a soul eater styled song, but more importantly, it's a song that was very much chosen speciffically for Maka and Crona.
in a meta sense their relationship is DEFINED by this song, given how the episode ends with a special ending just for the two of them.
Maka and Crona's growth as people, are both defined by going forward... By going back and embracing their childhoods. More speciffically, what they both lost during it.
Crona lost both Childhood innocence, kindness and seemingly any chance to ever have friends and make normal, healthy human bond ever again.
Maka lost her ability to trust easily, became spiteful, hyperagressive, and lost her natural childhood kindness to others.
And both of them lost all of it, because of their parents. Crona lost it because of abuse, victim blaming, grooming and being treated as a weapon, rather than a child to be loved and nurtured.
Maka meanwhile lost all of the kinder, gentler, and trusting aspects of herself because of having to grow up and constantly see the dad she loved and looked up to cheat on her mother, and then subsequently being abandoned by that same mother, rather than have her serve as a source of strenght in her hour of need.
And through this newfound bond, both of them are able to regain all of it. That is the true beauty of Maka and Crona's relationship.
It's not as if all their problems go away, or their personalities go back to from before... the past, and how it has affected both of them is not ignored, or backtracked. but the path forward is a blend of what came before, and what they have become... while hopefully leaving behind the worst aspects of what they became at their worst.
Maka thinks Crona's soul is beautiful because deep down Crona is someone who wants to be kind and who thinks of others before themselves. all encapsulated by Crona's cute smile. That in turn brings out all of those feelings and emotions that Maka has tried so, so hard to bury to never be hurt again.
Crona thinks Maka is beautiful because she is a confident, brave, kind girl, who was willing to give even someone like Crona love, friendship, support and help even while being enemies. And in turn that makes Crona somehow reawaken the hopes, dreams and Values that Medusa cultivated just to deliberately murder for her own ends.
They both help the other to eventually get over their trauma in their own way and embrace their best selves... Despite the insane chance that Maka took to forge this relationship with someone she had no reason to even like, they were both so much stronger for it.
because they had the bravery, and madness to try.
Bravery and Madness, two sides to one coin.
And it all began here, over the course of two episodes.

Parties. These were something you knew well, even before you met Mr. Moneybags. (Pfff sorry-) you and your friends would go out clubbing all the time on your days off, sweating on the dance floor, throwing drinks back left and right until you were seeing cuadruple, not just double. This was something that became more of a habit, instead of a hobby. And lucky, no one is more disciplined and aristocratic than Byakuya. He could be the one to help break your habits. But, if you're not careful, it might turn from breaking your habits, to breaking you.
And here you are, at a party to celebrate the anniversary of Byakuya’s becoming CEO of his corporation. It was going perfect at first, starting off as one of Byakuya’s favorite parties he has had to partake in. But… it quickly started to escalate. More like… you quickly started to escalate.
“Come ooon~ please? Just let me have one! I’m not even that drunk yet!”
You begged Byakuya, already beginning to slur your words.
“No, I never wanted you to drink here in the first place.”
The bartender looked at the two of you with a questionable look, but thought nothing of it.
“Aww, pleaaasee?~ you should have some drinks as well, Maybe you’ll loosen up a bit! Hahaha!”
Even though you haven’t had anything to drink, you still acted like you were intoxicated. He groaned, his blood beginning to boil. There is only so much brattiness he can take, and he was slowly getting to his limit. But, all of it toppled over as you asked the bartender for some champagne. He grabbed your chin to force you to look at him.
“And what do you think you are doing?! Do I have to teach you a lesson?”
“Hehehe~ be careful!~ I might enjoy it.”
You smirked at him with a shit eating grin, causing him to snap.
He grabbed your wrist and pulled you into the nearest bathroom, throwing you onto the counter. You yelped as your ass hit the hard material. You were surprised how fast he could go from his normal attitude to enraged and filled with anger. He locked the door and violently pulled down your dress, not even bothering to unzip.
“Ahhh! Hey, that hur- AGK!”
You cried out in pain as he roughly lifted up your legs and smacked your ass, making sure to not touch your pussy.
“Just shut your mouth, you slut. You open it way too much.”
You held your hands over your mouth, biting your lip from the sharp pain. Even though he was trying his best to make this actually feel like a punishment, anything that involves him punishing you made you grow wetter by the second. He looked at your dripping cunt with disgust, his eyes fixed on how your panties dampened just from slapping you.
“Tch… you truly are the most disgusting whore, aren’t you. I guess I’ll have to treat you like one, hm?”
He ripped off your dress, bra, and panties, leaving you absolutely exposed to the chill mess of the air. Just as you thought he would slam his massive cock inside of you, your half-lidded eyes widened as you felt a cool, metallic object enter you instead. Just as you craned my neck up to look at him with confusion, the object started vibrating strong enough to make your pussy red and irritated. You let out a loud, pornographic moan as your body tensed, slamming back into the mirror, luckily not breaking it.
“Only good girls get my cock. Dirty whores like you get nothing but toys. But I bet you like it like this, huh? This small little vibe pushing into you, leaving you to pathetically cry out. Such a slut….”
You couldn’t help the mouths that spilled out of your mouth as it contorted into an masochistic smile, soaking in every push and prod of the vibe on your aching walls. He knew every place to rub against to make you curl your toes, and you absolutely loved it. He leaned over your twitching body to whisper in your ear.
“I bet I can make you cum way fast if I do… this…”
He shoved the vibe deep into you so it would stay put, moving his hands to your stomach to dig his fingers into you. Your back uncontrollably arched as he ticked the life out of you, rapidly moving and tracing his fingers on your vulnerable skin.
And just as he thought, you came as you let out one final moan.
“Just as I thought… “

Personal Bleach HCs
AN: Bleach is my comfort anime and I WILL die ok this hill. Also, no beta we die like Chojiro if there's spelling mistakes do NOT come after me
Featuring: As many as I can fit.
Contains: NSFW, Crack, fluff, a lil angst
MINORS DNI I WILL CONTACT YOUR PARENTS.
So, we all know that Kenpachi and Chojiro have cannonically bathed together. I honestly think that they tried to date at some point. It didn't go well, as Chojiro is very refined (and a little old) and Kenpachi is neither of those things. Kenny darling was very into rough sex and battles while Chojiro was,,,,, decidedly not into either of those things. They parted on good terms and still bath together and share self-care tips. Until Chojiro got his ass wiped by the Quincies.
Asane walked in on Soi Fon cuddling with a doll of Yoruichi once, when she was in the Squad Four healing stations. Mysteriously, when Soi Fon woke up, it was clean. Asane denies all accusations.
Kenpachi has and will continue to ignore whenever Yumichika is getting his ass pluughed. He doesn't care. He has shit to do and everyone else is sleeping or eating.
Yamamoto listens to records. Sometimes, he'll secretly send put Shinigami to the mortal realm to get him some. He likes Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Queen, Elton John, and Paul McCarneys solo albums the most. He pays said Shinigami extra.
Komamura made his gigai look as much like his human form as possible. Some nights he'll sit and stare at it, wishing he could just look like that all the time. That is, until his Leiutenant comes in and starts yammering away about whatever er boring thing he's done that day. Then he gently puts it away to listen. His Squad doesn't judge him, and that's enough.
Byakuya once challenged Kira to a fight over who has the best hair. Shuhei has to physical restrain Kira and haul his ass to Unohana personally when Senbonzakura was released. Yamamoto is still pissed about it.
On that note, far too many Shinigami have called Shuhei "Dad" or some variation thereof for it to be a coincidence.
No matter how hard he tries not to, Urahara will cry himself to sleep. He misses the Soul Society more often than not. He makes sure to not make a noise.
Yoruichi lies awake, hoping Soi Fon is okay.
Shinji only pierced his tongue on a dare. He has his nipples done too and has little swords in them. He thinks he looks cool but Hiyori called him a whore when she found out.
Rose once hit his head so hard he only spoke in Spanish. But the only Spanish he knows is from whatever songs he listens to. Just imagine your friend desperately quoting 'Despacito' to you while in tears. Essentially, that's was Rose's life for a week and a half.
Chad has never once masturbated nor will he. He's beginning to think he's asexual. Oh, and far too many girls have confessed to him. He gets embarrassed every time and ends up rejecting them. He likes his girls with bite but he only seems to get the good girls. He's never once thought about Tatsuki that way though. He though she was a cross-dresser for months.
Orihime punched someone in the face once, and only once. They called Chad a homo and she said immediately after she'd do it again if they were ever homophobic near her.
Ichigo doesn't know what the fuck Rainbow Mafia means and thinks it's and actual mafia.
Uryu has seen porn and he threw up right after. Ryuken thought he had the flu.
Hiyori tried going to school once in the mortal realm. It took her all of three hours to put eight people in hospital, create three news rules and then get expelled. No she will not talk about it.
Tatsuki had a breakdown when she saw a fluffy cat once. It was so chonky and had a squished in face. She cried for three hours and blamed it on dust. Orihime just went with it.
Grimmjow, for me personally, is a virgin. He doesn't even know what sex is. He's not a sex God he's a little shit with sharp teeth.
On the flip side, Ulquiorria once had sex with Tôsen. Did not go well.
Tôsen was the one who suggested they bring in Orihime. He liked how she is an LGBTQ+ ally. As a gay man he appreciated her violence towards homophobic assholes.
Gin doesn't know people can be gay. He thinks it's a myth. He missed every single time when Shuhei tried to chat him up.
Aizen eats mints more than he drinks water. He likes the spicy ones. They make him feel powerful. He also eats lemons like apples. Szayelaporro is terrified of this.
Isshin Kurosaki was PEAK chaotic Bisexual for his future wife and Urahara at the same time. He still has no idea that Urahara would 110% hit that DILF ass.

heya! i’ve been following ur blog for a little while now, and i just wanna first say how pretty it is!! <333 (i especially love the way u draw kazuichi and sonia but that’s because i’m biased lol-)
anyway, i wanted to ask u, what r ur thoughts on the dr1 survivors?? i personally really love them, it seems kinda like how much u seem to really like the dr2 survivors :)
double anyway, i hope you have a great day!!! :D
Hi sorry this is super old but thank you!
It's been a while since I revisited ca on DR1 stuff but:
(Warning! Some disproving opinions)
Makoto: precious, reminds me of Sora, cant help but love him, very much would not survive without a little help from his friends (this is a compliment think it's a huge part of his character). Like him more after the anime. Hajimes little-big brother.
Kyoko: never been a huge fan of Reserved Fancy Clever girl type, but I think she won me over a bit more in the anime? Like, im glad she lived.... but I think her death would have been very in-character and character building at the same time.
Aoi: my fuckingfhfh GIRL I love her I'm biased as fuck. Did she ever use her talent much? No. Did she like, do a whole lot? I dont think so. But do I adore her?? Yeah I do. Wlw girl and also her "oooh!!" offended soundbyte is so cute also she was ready to take everyone down for the girl she loved that is so peak wlw shes Got It. Didnt she hit Byakuya?? Go girl.
Yasuhiro: stupid idiot man that I nonetheless enjoy. His design is the best of the survivors (not from any standpoint but my own as I simply really like the way he looks, clothes n all), fun shapes, gives good idea of character) . Most fun/gimmicky talent that was underutilised. Someone give him the connection he craves and like a hamburger
Toko: Not a huge fan tbh. Voice acting was rly good but she makes me uncomfortable (this is a me thing, I'm just super not comfy with any master-servant sexy thing).
Syo: More fun but most of what I remember from watching the playthrough is 'that's not how DID works.....' I think Syo and Toko both get way more development in that other game tho this is just what I remember. Also never been a fan of the whole, serial killer thing, it's not cool to me I dont like it.
Byakuya: apparently he got redeemed a little but I only remember fuckinggggg hating his character lmao. Again this was a few years ago and I was much less invested than I am now! But, rich tall asshole boy who just kinda snidely says things?? noooooo taste my blade.

protagonists for the character questionnaire!
Oh goodness I hope you’re ready for another essay
Makoto my dear boy
Favourite thing? He’s the most some guy ever. Just a little creature. He’s so relatable because who among us hasn’t been in a situation where we feel wildly outclassed and surrounded by people who are cooler and more talented than us? Despite everything he just keeps going, what a legend
Least favourite is people who are wrong about him. How does anyone play that game and say he’s a nothing character? I just don’t get it, stop disrespecting my son
Honestly he’s got way more excellent lines than people give him credit for, but my favourite has to be “I always choose meat over veggies because I’m still in my teens… my meat teens.” Like WHAT are you talking about king I love it
Brotp probably him and Aoi. It’s the positivity besties
Otp is Naegiri. There’s just so much mutual respect between them and the story does a great job of writing them together that I can’t help but love him
Notp is probably just him with anyone that’s not kirigiri, or togami really. Whilst I personally hc Byakuya as aroace I do get why people ship naegami and I do think it’s kinda hilarious
I hc that him and Komaru are besties. Absolutely attached at the hip. They hang out all the time and he loves doing stuff with her, and is so so excited to introduce her to his new friends
The song I associate with him most is Fireflies by Owl City
Favourite art of him is the one where he’s tripping and his shoe just flies the fuck off. What a silly little man I love him
Hajime my beloved (I’m gonna be normal I swear)
To put it as succinctly as possible, he is just my favourite type of guy. He’s such a bitch, he’s so snarky about everything, he’s simultaneously the smartest and dumbest person in any given room, and he actually cares very deeply for things but he won’t readily admit to it. He’s got one of the more interesting arcs to me and in general I find him very relatable. He’s the best, my favourite protagonist probably
Least favourite is maybe less about him and more about Izuru Kamukura, and that is how underused he was. Obviously this is an opinion many people know about me, but it bears repeating because the concept of Kamukura was SO COOL and they barely even touched it and I’m mad about it every single day
Another guy that has so many good lines, but I think my favourite is “I thought I’d finally become someone I could be proud of, not some fucking backup student.” It just hits me so hard every time
Brotp probably him and Fuyuhiko or him and Impostor. I just think those three are the ones in the group with the highest sense of responsibility and they are the tired parents of this silly goofy pack of weirdos
Otp. It’s Komahina. Everyone knows this about me and I will refrain from writing an entire essay about why but suffice it to say. They are prefect
Notp is really anyone who’s not Komaeda, but specifically Nanami and Tsumiki are big on the No list for me
I have so many headcanons that my adhd brain can’t even begin to process them in a cohesive way, so I’ll just say that emo-punk autistic Hinata is my absolute beloved. Also man’s definitely has an anxiety disorder. And nooooo I’m definitely not projecting why do you ask
Unpopular opinion (so far the only character I’ve had one for) is that he’s not bi, he’s just gay. And look I love headcanoning every character ever as bi (again tooooootally not projecting) but whenever I replay/rewatch the game I see him being so gay about the men and being so uninterested in the girls (excepted for the super-forced hinanami stuff that I ignore)
I have sooooo many songs so I had to think about this a lot but I think I’m gonna say the best Hinata song is Life Less Frightening by Rise Against
Every image is the best image of him but specifically this one is so good
Tumblr media
He’s fucking tired of this shit and he wants to be done with this despair nonsense and I love him for it
Shuichi Saihara, whom I am also normal about
It’s so hard to pinpoint why I love Saihara so much, but I think part of it is the fact that underneath his anxious exterior, he is actually very snarky. I’m always a slut for the sarcastic characters and I like the he is that as well as being generally polite to his classmates. He cares deeply and has a tendency to overthink things (totally not relatable) and I just need to give this poor man a HUG
Least favourite thing is how he interacts with Ouma in the canon outside of ftes. A good example of this being when he finds Ouma bleeding from the head on the floor and doesn’t seem to show any actual concern for him, which seems very out of character to me. I just think there was a lot more they could’ve done to build a connection between protag and antag that would’ve served to make the story more interesting, much the way the relationship between Hinata and Komaeda does
Short and sweet, my favourite Saihara line is simply “I refuse.” I am a big supporter of the idea that Shuichi should’ve been allowed to go a little crazy in chapter 6, and his whole telling off hope and despair speech was very fun. He really went “fuck you and your stupid game” and I just love it
Brotp has gotta be Kaito and Maki. I love the training trio and I think they have a great dynamic
Otp is saiouma. And yes I know I just raised a complaint about their lacklustre interactions in the game, but hey, canon can’t hurt me if I don’t look. There is a lot of potential for excellent character dynamics and that’s what I’m gonna focus on
Notp is saimatsu. Sorry anyone who likes them but it’s so comphet to me. Again, that is a gay boy and a lesbian, not a romantic couple
I hc that he really likes singing. Not to a professional degree or anything, but he does it while he works and it serves as a calming vocal stim for him. His voice is definitely very soft and sweet, which doesn’t lend itself well to his preferred genre of music (my sweet sweet emo boy) but that doesn’t stop him from trying
Again, so many songs I could choose from, but I will go with Swing Life Away by Rise Against because he’s just my sweet guy, my love, my boy
And once more, every image of Shuichi is my favourite, but I very specifically love his Serious Face sprite
Tumblr media
I guess the takeaway is I like it when the protags get serious and start to shut shit down

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So... what did you want to ask me...?
Tumblr media
Oh right, well it is about your class but... it's just...
Tumblr media
Your whole class, like... these guys are so damn weird and out there, I have no idea how you manage to deal with them and I try to search for any of the girls in your class and your the only one I could ask right now!
Tumblr media
I see and how weird are we talking about...?
Tumblr media
Well let's see... that Byakuya guy, the fat one I thought he was wealthy but I met the actual Byakuya and realize he was a fake, then there's that weird pervert Teruteru which I learn his siblings have money so I try to hit on his younger brother but then his younger sister told me off.
Tumblr media
Also that Nekomaru and Gundham are way too loud, Kazuichi yell at me after I approach him because he looked cool but instead I get screamed at... Like wow, all I just say was hi!
Tumblr media
So meaning the only guys I was curious about is Fuyuhiko, Nagito and Yukio; who should I go for?

oH and mentions of murder and death but this is danganronpa so im going to assume u expected as much
a/n: so we kickin this blog off with a bang, writing for LITERALLY THE ENTIRE TRIGGER HAPPY HAVOC CAST LMFAOAOAOAO (excluding hifumi, yasuhiro, and the two despairs doe bc i’ve already made that clear)
also some character’s sections are shorter than others im sorry i just couldnt think of as many bullet points for them *tiktok cry emoji*
edit: I FORGOT CELSESTE FU K SORRY
spoilers under the cut!!
★ 彡 ★ ミ ★ 彡 ★ ミ ★
makoto naegi
when he realizes he likes you, he doesn’t necessarily panic or anything, but he does get nervous
nervous around you, that is
y’all saw how he was with sayaka
if he says anything that might sound intimate then he’ll immediately rephrase it or reassure he didn’t mean anything by it
he really only does have good intentions but his wording just kinda flops sometimes
he appreciates how you listen to him and value what he says
you don't make him feel dumb or inferior compared to a bunch of ultimates with actual talents
he’ll muster up the courage to tell you eventually
let’s hope his luck comes through 😁
byakuya togami
now when THIS man realizes he likes you, he a bitch nigga bout it 😐
he can't believe he fell for a common plebeian such as you
but it was hard not to
the way you preferred to get to the point
the way you were aware of your situation and didn't sugarcoat how you felt about it, although you certainly were nicer with it than him
he's ruthless
anyways
you knew your priorities and spent no time trying to use your resources
he noticed how much you had in common; in you, he saw himself
and we all know how this mf feels about himself 😐
he’ll be quick to defend you in class trials
he won’t realize he’s doing it but he just subconsciously protects you
but just because he doesn't notice it, don't mean the rest of the class brushes past it as well
yeah they on his ass LMFAOO
kyoko kirigiri
kyoko is very good at keeping her composure so she won’t be very obvious
she’ll probably just hang around you more
she’ll also defend you in class trials, calmly
“oh, it couldn’t have been [name]. i remember seeing them in their dorm around the time the murder took place.”
hifumi probably finna say some dumb shit like “aye what was you doin in their dorm doe” but anyways
she finds you respectable
if you have anything to contribute, she’ll let you take the floor
when she tells you, she’s very composed, but also very indirect LMFAO
she’s not too sure on how to express her interest in you but maybe she’ll go about it like “well, [name], now we’ve made it here, would you like to step back into the world with me?” or somethin else along those lines idk
take her hand
pls
toko fukawa
y’all know her whole “master togami” shtick
yeah so 😁😁😁😁
no but fr, toko ofc still has her borderline stalkerish 🧍🏾‍♀️ tendencies
she’ll often find herself staring at you, either in the library or in the morning meetings everyday at breakfast
but she isn’t as straight forward as she is with byakuya
i actually think she’d be mad shy and non confrontational
the whole thing she kept up with him ? yeah, never again
if you approach her first then she’ll be able to get a few words out but for most of the conversation, she’ll just nervously play with her braids
you’ll most likely put two and two together
unless ur a makoto kinnie bc then you’ll have to wait till someone else puts it in place for u but anyways
if you decide to approach her about it, you’ll kinda be backing her into a corner bc she’s just bad at deflecting things lmao
she’ll eventually confess (begrudgingly but hey i mean its better than nothing)
expect much stuttering and a gesture like giving you a small gift
and not to be that writer that uses japanese terms in english writing but toko seems like a tsundere but not really if that makes sense?? so she’d probably shove it in your hands and if you try to say something then she’ll just try to play it off as not a big deal lol
calls u a baka 😍😍
aoi asahina
i know y’all all see how she is with sakura
yeah.
aoi is the kind of person who’d like to spend time with their crush rather than shy away from them
she values you and your friendship very much
bring her donuts
just trust me bring her donuts
she doesn’t really realize she’s into you like that for a while but believe me, she is, the whole time
and yeah i think she’d be nervous to tell you bc that’s just natural but ultimately she’d be cool about it
uh oh looks like we goin for a swim
sakura ogami
similar to kyoko, she’s very calm
despite her big and bad appearance, she really is a sweet girl
she cares for you and your well-being very much
will indeed go on x games mode for you
the way she tells you is very sincere and well spoken
kith her
naow
im sorry this is like the shortest one i couldn’t think of much for her 😔😔
leon kuwata
flirtatious ass mf
and he’s lightskin
so this just cannot go well
y’all know that bit where it’s like the guy yawns and stretches his arms up and then wraps one around your shoulder
yeah that’s literally him LMFAOO
he’s very confident
he was fairly well known with the ladies at his old school so you know he’s rhockin wit it ‼️
but
you feel.. different than usual ??
those girls were just lil flings n dates bc he was nice enough to accept their confessions and it boosted his ego anyway so it was a win win
but you
he was genuinely interested in you since he had saw you the first time
he didn’t just acknowledge your appearance
he learnt about your personality and your hobbies and what you liked and such, and he really cared and wanted to hear you talk about it all
he felt the need to really make an effort to show you how much he respected and had affections for you
he doesn't tell you in a grand way
probably just asks you out to a movie or somethin
he's chillin
mondo owada
you know
for being the biggest, baddest, most respected biker gang leader
or just for being in a biker gang period
mondo’s a huge softie lol
yeah he gets violent but he’s a sweet guy who cares about and is loyal to his friends
so mfs need to be nice to you
or they gettin whooped
when he decides it’s time to tell you how he feels, he thinks over his words and he’s all confident there’s no way you’d reject him but then he sees you in the halls and goes 🧍🏾 LMFAOOO
he’ll push through but it’s like he’ll walk up to you and look away from you because he refuses eye contact and just go
“so y/n, would you wanna.. tch.. come to a drive-in movie with me or somethin’?... dumbass.”
real smooth mondo i think you got em good job
please tease him LMFAOO it’d be so funny
he’d probably yell but you can tell he’s not mad so you just keep going with it
but once you’re done tormenting him, you do agree to the movie, don’t worry 🙏🏾
also mondo would call his s/o doll
that is all
chihiro fujisaki
my fav dude in a dress <3
chihiro would be quite shy, but that’s just how he is tbh so no surprise there
he’s very kind so he’d check up on you often just to see how you are
he cares about you v much
the way he confesses is one that consists of a red face as he offers you a box of candy or something similar
and he’d feel honored that you reciprocate his feelings
he’d be very scared to tell you his secret but once he does, he’s delighted to hear it doesn’t make any difference to you
he doesn’t know how he got so lucky with you
not only because woooo they like me back but also because you like him despite,, well everything about him LMFAOO
sweet lil boy
i’d feel like he’d talk about you to alter ego a lot
and when u meet the program for the first time, he’s like “oh! you must be [name]! master’s told me all about you :)”
sobbing i miss him
kiyotaka ishimaru
okay here’s the thing
if taka were to like someone
i can’t tell whether he’d be more strict because he doesn’t want them to get in trouble (and also so it would hopefully divert any suspicion that he DOES like you since he treats you the same as everyone else, only more)
or if he’d hold back more because he favors them LMFAOO
so imma write a lil bit for both
in the case that he was even stricter:
he’d prefer to be around you because he believes the best way he can make sure you stay out of trouble is to make sure you don’t get into any in the first place
of course it’s impossible to monitor you every second of every day but he does his best to make sure you’re doing well
if he sees you do anything out of line, he’s shutting that shit down IMMEDIATELY
but in the case he let up:
he’d still lecture you but noticeably less than the other students
if your feet were resting on top of a desk, he’d ask you to move them and then leave you alone rather than yell at you and forcibly move them himself
if you notice his behavior towards you in comparison to the other students do not tease him about it he will go as red as his eyes /hj
either way he’s confessing to you with a polite but exaggerated bow while holding out a well thought out letter with both hands
sayaka maizono
she will tell you
idk why but i feel like she’d be straight up lol
she’d make sure she’s sincere
she is the ultimate pop idol and all so she wants to make sure you know that she really does like you and isn’t playing a sick joke on you or anything
ok bc
while i do think she’d tell you
i’d feel like she’d be a little indirect just to see how you feel
like she’d give you a free ticket to one of her upcoming concerts with a kind smile
and naturally, you're like :o
and of course you come to support her
and seeing you smile at her from the crowd and cheer her on was the encouragement she needed to push her to ask you out
for real this time
she asks if you wanna come to a concert with her and ur like “oh yeah i love ur shows!!” bc ur dumb and then she’s like “no i mean.. for another artist” and eventually it hits you that she’s asking you out and ur like “oH YEAH YEAH SURE THAT SOUNDS GREAT YEAH OK” LMFAOO
———
i really hope that this is good LMFAOO this is my first time writing for dr so 😃👍🏾
fun fact i finished toko’s section first and taka’s last 😁😁
and i’d like to thank @mius-imagination @bloodygir n the rest of the discord for helping me figure some of these characters out *simultaneously whips and nae naes*
bye ive been working on this for like weeks this took forever

The ride down to the courtroom is tense as usual, but with a new, palpable level of hostility in the air. He feels gazes, laden with suspicion and wariness, but there’s no whispers, at the very least. Aside from the rumble of the elevator (and the occasional grunt and insult from Syo, who was picking a fight with anyone who ‘looked at her funny’), the air is dead silent.
He ignores them, arms crossed and staring resolutely ahead. The animosity isn’t unfamiliar to him; he’s experienced such things countless times already, from his siblings who wanted him gone, to adults who thought him young and impertinent and an obstacle. And he’s not one to care for the opinions of the lower class either, but it irks him that he needs to take them into consideration for this trial.
If he lets them decide based on their naive pathos alone, they’ll all be doomed. No matter how much he disliked having to cooperate with the rest of them, as foolish as they were, it would be necessary to ensure his own survival. As a child, Pennyworth once reprimanded him for criticizing the democratic structure of the various national governments, saying ‘the greatest asset is people.’ Byakuya had grown to understand the truth of those words, but that didn’t mean that he had to like it.
There’s a quiet shuffling sound at his side, that startles him out of his thoughts. He glances over, and sees Makoto, surreptitiously edging near.
“Are you okay?” He whispers, and when Byakuya raises an eyebrow at him, he taps the side of his face. “You know…”
Ah, right. “Yes. I’m fine.” He reaches to touch the side of his face - the swelling has reduced noticeably already, though it still feels soft and tender under his fingers. Like an overripe fruit. “Don’t worry about pointless things.”
“It’s not-” He starts, before sighing. “Okay.” Makoto’s head twists, glancing around them for any onlookers. “About my investigation-”
“Save it.” There were bound to be eyes and ears on them, most noticeably, Kirigiri’s. He can see the girl standing out of the corner of his periphery, a pillar of pale violet. He’d prefer not to draw unnecessary suspicion now. “I’ll hear about it during the trial anyways.”
Makoto falls silent. For a few moments, the only sound is the rumble of the elevator, the occasional shifting of restless bodies. Then Makoto leans closer until their arms graze, a sudden, shifting press of warmth.
“I promise, I’m going to prove you’re innocent.” There’s an unexpected fierceness to his tone, a determination that Byakuya only heard once before, during the last trial. “No matter what.”
He blinks, taken aback somewhat. He hadn’t expected this display of loyalty, but - well - maybe it was to make up for their previous falling-out. Whatever the case, Byakuya finds himself strangely reassured.
“Hmph. You better.” He crosses his arms and surveys their surroundings. “If you don’t, we’re all dead.”
So Makoto was certain of his innocence. That was some comfort, though Byakuya couldn’t put his entire faith in the other boy alone. At the end of the day, he could only rely on his own strength to get him through this.
It will be fine. The elevator shudders to a stop, and the metal grate of the doors rattle as they slide open. Everyone files silently to their stands, at this point already familiar with what being in this room meant. No matter what the outcome was, at least one of them would die.
From his stand, he looks around. Everyone seems somber, and even Syo is quieted down for once, currently consumed with picking at her nails. Ogami has her arms crossed, face turned downwards. Hagakure keeps fidgeting, head nervously turning this way and that. Kiyotaka seems as stiff as ever, posed as rigidly as a statue and staring silently ahead. Something white  is wrapped around his head, stark against his dark hair; a bandage, most likely, and Byakuya wonders for a moment if he’s concussed.
“Welcome, welcome!!” Monokuma springs up, twirling on its chair like a clown. “What do you guys think of my redecorating? Pretty nice, right?”
Byakuya has no idea what the bear is talking about, until he looks around again and notices that there were more plaques, standing in each of the unoccupied podiums. Even with his vision, he can identify what the dark-framed rectangles are supposed to be, and why each of them had red paint splattered across it in an ‘x’.
Last time, it had been Maizono and Enoshima. This time, it was Kuwata, and Chihiro.
How tasteless. No one bothers to say a thing in response.
“Gosh, what’s with the silent treatment? Cats got your tongues?” Monokuma hums, apparently put off by the lack of reaction. “What a bunch of downers! Where’s your youth?”
“Enough with this.” Owada growls darkly. His hands are fisted tightly on the railing. “Let’s get this over with.”
“Well, aren’t you rip-raring to go! Didn’t expect that from you, Mister Owada!” Monokuma cackles excitedly. “But I don’t hate it! Alright, let’s get this show on the road!!”
So it begins. Byakuya readjusts his stance, lifting his head to stand tall and straight. He cannot afford to show weakness here. He cannot afford himself any more leniency, any reason for failure.
It was time to start the trial.
___
“Because we have a newcomer, let’s go over the rules one more time.” Monokuma says, as it climbs onto its chair. “At the conclusion of this trial, you will all vote for who you think committed the crime, and your vote will determine the results. If you can figure out ‘whodunnit’ then only they will receive punishment. But if you pick the wrong one…” It grunts slightly as it finally clambers into its seat, settling in with a bounce. “Then, I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and the one that deceived everyone else will graduate!...Does that make sense, Miss Syo?”
“A death game, huh?” Syo hums, tilting her head. “No wonder y’all are so tense. It’s a real battle royale in here!”
“How dare you? My game is way more sophisticated than that government-organized waste of tax dollars!” Monokuma sounds genuinely affronted, somehow. “But- well, I could talk forever about that, but I don’t wanna cut into everyone’s time. To start, why don’t we go over some details from the case? I’m dying to know what you guys are thinking~!”
The response is more quiet, some awkward shuffles. Considering the events of the last trial, everyone was treating this one like a minefield, and each person was afraid to venture out first.
Finally, someone speaks up. “Let’s start with the scene itself.”
Kyoko’s voice is calm and steady, and cuts through the tense air. Silently, Byakuya appreciates her initiative, the careful drawing of the reins, the call for a preamble. If he came out and began throwing accusations outright, it would only damage his credibility; he needs a base to stand on.
“R-right.” Makoto follows up quickly. “Um, so. At around…one-fifteen today, Chihiro’s body was discovered by Byakuya, Hina, and Kyoko in the hallway outside the library. The body announcement went off shortly after.
“The body…was leaning against the wall, and apparently crucified,” His voice wavers slightly, but he presses on. “The presumed cause of death was…was a blow to the head. The Monokuma file says the death was instant.”
A blow to the head? He almost asks aloud, surprised. Though it hadn’t exactly been clear with the amount of blood on Chihiro’s body, he thought the cause of death would have been stab wounds, given Syo’s modus operandi.
If it was someone with the same cleverness as Kyoko, they wouldn’t have missed such an obvious detail, and if it were Syo herself I doubt she would have strayed from her pattern… He casts a glance at Syo, now picking at her teeth. Though, it is difficult to kill someone cleanly with sharp objects alone.
Somewhere to the side, Asahina shudders. “How horrible…”
Makoto only nods once, jerkily, in agreement. “The word ‘bloodlust’ was written on the wall besides the corpse, presumably with blood from- from the crime itself.” There’s the quiet sound of him swallowing drily. “The scene also mimics the signature of a serial killer that was pretty prolific a short while ago-”
“That’s ri-ight~!”
He’s interrupted by a giggle. All heads turned towards the source.
Syo is twirling in her stand, pointing at herself with the same glee as an audience member who was picked out of a game show. “It’s yo-ours truly! Call and I shall appear!!” She strikes some kind of ridiculous pose, hip cocked out and arms raised. “Genocider Syo is here!”
Even though they had all been present for her initial self-introduction, the declaration still draws some disbelief. “Wait, so…you’re serious?” Hagakure asks, with an air of incredulousness. “Lil’ Toko, the bookworm, a serial killer? You sure this isn’t, like, a late-case of middle-schooler syndrome?”
“Bah! Don’t compare me to those posers, Grasshead!” She snaps, pointing at him, and he yelps, flinging his arms up as if she was threatening him with an actual weapon. “I’m the real deal!! Ask me about any of the victims, and I can tell you everything ‘bout ‘em, from their favorite foods to their shitty tastes in girls!”
“...Anyways, Toko - in this case, known as Syo - was also carrying these.” Kirigiri withdraws a brown pouch from her jacket, the contents of it jingling. “Inside are scissors matching the unique make and model of the murder weapons found at Syo’s crime scenes. Between these and  the…dramatic change in personality, I think we can confidently assume that Toko is Syo, and vice versa.”
“Hmph. Gloomy wishes she could be me.” Syo harrumphs. “But yeah, sure, you got me detective! Me n’ Gloomy are like twins in one body, but only one person can drive at a time, yakkno? And she always hogs the wheel.”
There’s a murmur, as people take in this new revelation. “So…like a split personality?” Yamada asks.
“Not quite.” Kirigiri replies immediately. “It’s not clear how her affliction might be classified, but it does explain how she was able to avoid detection for so long.”
I see…” Celeste’s fingernails tap lightly against the railing. “But with this, does it not appear as if this case is already solved?”
“No…it’s not that simple.” Makoto says, a frown in his voice. “All of Syo’s previous victims died by stab wounds, but this time around, Chihiro’s cause of death was from blunt force to the skull…plus, nothing sharp was used in the crime at all.”
This time, Byakuya can’t hide his surprise. “Really?”
He immediately shuts his mouth, at once disgusted with himself for losing his control like that, but it’s too late. Attention turns to him. “What is it, Byakuya?”
He grits his teeth, now with no choice but to move forward. “I didn’t get a close look at the body earlier,” He explains, which is something like the truth. “But - given the blood and the nature of Syo’s crimes - I assumed that there would have been use of stabbing to at least mimic the scene, if only just to suspend the corpse?”
It’s a plausible enough explanation. He can only hope no one noticed the hesitancy in his voice. Kirigiri is the one that responds. “It is strange,” She nods. “I noticed that as well. But no, there are no stab wounds whatsoever on the body, and Syo’s scissors are completely clean. The body itself is suspended with an extension cord looped around the wrists, and hammered into the wall.”
This was more unexpected information, but useful information nonetheless. But it was frustrating that he couldn’t have seen it for himself to confirm, and all he could do now was rely on Kirigiri’s claim. But no one else was speaking up to disprove her, and so he had no choice.
“Couldn’t she have chosen a different weapon and method of crucifixion to keep suspicion off of herself?” Celeste asks again, curiously. “Given the enclosed nature of our surroundings, would it not make sense for her to try and create a scene where we could not ascertain her role in it?”
“Right! Couldn’t it be that Syo - er, Miss Syo -” Yamada corrects himself quickly. “- was trying to cover her tracks? I mean, I’ve seen it all the time in mystery mangas, where the killer changes up their style to throw the dogs off their tail…”
“No way!” Syo confirms aloud, sounding genuinely affronted by the suggestion. “I take pride in my works, yakkno? Any shmuck can make sushi, but it takes a real master to make the real thing. And what happened with Chihiro is some cheap convenience-store trash you can buy for a kid’s allowance!”
Ugly metaphor aside, it made sense. After reading so many case files, he had an understanding of how hedonistic killers operate, and it seemed that Syo was certainly not out of the norm in this case. She and the mastermind were similar in this regard. No matter how irrational, they always adhered to their own twisted sense of pride, and by extension, followed their own set of guidelines strictly.
But, then that meant it was unlikely for Syo to have committed the deed. Out of three possible suspects in his mind, he knew it was not himself, and if it wasn’t her, then the last one left was…
“That’s a possibility, but it’s not likely here,” Kirigiri speaks as if Syo had never said anything in the first place. “Syo was far too eager to reveal her identity, so it’s unlikely that she had intentions of hiding herself...and furthermore, with someone with as extensive a streak as her, it strikes me as odd that she would break her habits now.” She voices out the exact thoughts he was having himself, and that both reassures and irritates him at the same time. “Rather, the obvious way the body was displayed, plus the small differences with the actual killing method and the mounting, makes me think that this is a red herring.”
“Quite right,” Byakuya says now, and he can feel eyes turning onto him. “But many details on Syo’s killing methods and habits were concealed from the public, including the fact that the victims were crucified. Which means there is only a limited number of people here who could have copied her M.O to this extent. Am I correct?”
There’s a moment’s pause. He’s taken them by surprise, by pointing out the very thing that would otherwise suggest his involvement. Everyone had seen Owada confront him on the second floor hallway, had heard his messy accusation, though given how Kirigiri was quick to have the suspects isolated and Owada occupied by the menial task of overseeing the scene, they likely weren’t aware of any real explanation for his suspect status beyond Owada’s initial, hasty claims.
That was what he needed to take advantage of now, if he was going to keep suspicion off of him and survive.
Kirigiri nods slowly, likely also taken aback by his sudden interjection. “That’s true…the details of the Syo’s victims were kept confidential to only high-level police and investigators-”
“But that doesn’t mean jack here,” Owada cuts in sharply. He had been quiet this entire time, but now he leans forward, hands clutched against the wooden rail. The tip of his pompadour is facing Byakuya, as if staring him down. “There was that folder thing, right? The one that had all the details on Toko or Syo or whatever, I don’t give a shit.” He drawls out his cusses with a snarl, trembling with rage. “And the only guy who’s spent enough time in the library to be reading about that kinda stuff is right in front of me.”
Byakuya suppresses a sigh. Of course, Owada would jump to such conclusions, easily thrown into a blind fury by mere provocation. The bruise still throbbing on his face is evidence of that. “As I was beginning to explain, yes, I did have access to this knowledge. However, I alone can’t be classified as the killer-.”
Owada cuts him off again. “But there’s more evidence, ain’t there? You were the only one closest to the body when it was found. You were the only one with blood on you-”
“Oh, please. Everything you’re describing is circumstantial at best.” He scoffs. “It’s not like I’m locking the library doors or living in there, anyone could have read that file. I don’t have access to anything that could’ve been used to stage such a crime. And the blood on me isn’t enough to justify a murder.”
“You could’ve cleaned it off then!” Owada spits, and Byakuya simply rolls his eyes.
“And what’s your proof? Beyond your own, half-baked opinions based on some coincidences?” He snarks. He can’t waste too much time on this. He needs to move on, and quickly. If too much attention lingers on him, he’ll lose credibility. “Tell him, Makoto.”
Gazes turn towards Makoto. Byakuya waits, expecting him to say something, to point out the blatant lack of proof, or offer some counterargument to break down Owada’s logic. But Makoto is silent, his face cast downwards. After a pause that feels entirely too long, Byakuya finally understands why.
The realization completely derails him, and his fragile, haphazard plan of attack shatters. “Don’t tell me…” he says incredulously under his breath, mostly to himself.
“There is proof.” Kirigiri confirms his suspicions. She holds something up - rectangular and maybe the size of a small book, and maybe white once, but stained so thoroughly with blood it was hard to tell - “There was a mess in the library suggesting a struggle had occurred, and there was a textbook that had some bloodstains along the spine found near the far shelf. There were also two of these gauze pads found behind the door.” There’s a dry crackle as she sets the bloodied gauze down against the railing. “Furthermore, the cord that was used to crucify Chihiro was also confirmed to have come from the library. We found an empty box with a broken lid, with a dust imprint that suggests that it was used to hold the cord.” She pauses for a moment, as if gauging reactions. “There was also a white sheet found in the boy’s bathroom on the second floor, with a large spot of blood near the middle of it.”
It feels like the floor is tilting under his feet, and he leans his weight forward into his arms, his hands still clutching the rail. The cord, the bloodied gauze? The sheet?
I’m being framed. That much was clear, but - he has no idea by who. It couldn’t have been Toko, or Syo. Had someone snuck into the library after Chihiro’s body was found, during all the confusion? Planted evidence to doom him?
“That’s impossible,” He hears himself saying, voice strangely distant. It takes an effort to drag himself back, out of his racing thoughts. He can still salvage this; I just need to stay calm.
“I’ve never touched that cord, and I have no idea where that gauze came from.” His own words sound pathetic and baseless, floundering attempts with no substance. “And- there’s not enough blood on the book to justify that kind of killing blow-”
“So it was used to hit someone?” Celeste asks, an amused note in her voice. Immediately, he snaps his mouth shut, cursing at himself silently. “Won’t you please elaborate for us?”
“That was-” It’s hard to explain the real reason. That he had struck Fukawa, in a moment of panic; no matter how much he hated that girl, to admit such a thing was humiliating, the act of someone lesser than him. “-from something else.”
His eyes dart towards Syo, half-expecting her to come forward and call him out on his avoidance of the topic. But all she does is…wiggle, her hands clutching her face.
“Gosh, I’m jealous of whoever got to feel those hands on ‘em!” She swoons, and he realizes that she didn’t remember. Either that, or she had no intention of bringing it up, and the latter seemed unlikely.
Kirigiri leans forward a bit, pale face turned towards him. “The gauze pad I held up was soaked through, but it’s strange how clumsily it was hidden. Additionally, just the two of them wouldn’t have been nearly enough to justify the cleanup of an entire scene, especially given the tendency of head wounds to bleed.” She pauses, apparently waiting for any protest, before continuing. “And the book, too. To match the shape and dimensions of the wound, you would have had to use the corner of the book and apply a heavy amount of force, and there aren’t any deep stains or large splatters against the edges that would suggest such a thing.”
The relief he feels is nearly palpable, Kirigiri’s methodical words like a balm. He’d be almost grateful for it, if it hadn’t been for the fact that he was suspecting her as well. Was she trying to get his guard down? To ensure his support if she were accused? He can see others nodding, following her logic.
“And what about the sheet?” Ogami asks.
“The stain on it doesn’t suggest it was used to wipe anything up. And there are no clear splatter marks to suggest that it was laid down prior to doing the deed, to reduce cleanup time.” An inadvertent breath of relief leaves him, a quiet sigh, and he swears for a moment that he feels her gaze flick towards him, a near-imperceptible turn of her head. “The boy’s bathroom is also not as strictly regulated as the locker rooms, so to claim that Byakuya was the only one on the second floor who could have put that there is untrue.”
He refuses to let himself show gratitude for her aid. He looks away as she turns to him fully, pretends like he doesn’t see it. “So…does that mean it wasn’t Byakuya?” Asahina asks, bewildered. Byakuya opens his mouth to confirm-
“The hell it isn’t.”
Owada’s voice is a low rumble. Byakuya has heard him yell and rage before, but there’s something different now. An unidentifiable emotion beneath the anger. But it creates the same sensation as the thunder before a storm.
“That fucker was in the library the entire fucking time. Chihiro got strung up right across from him.” The room is silent, everyone terrified to interrupt. Byakuya can hear the creak of wood as Owada fists tighten on the rail. “There’s too many things that make him suspicious, don’t fucking tell me that all of you are just gonna write it off as fucking coincidental? Chihiro’s DEAD!”
“That’s-” Makoto speaks up, but his voice is drowned out almost immediately.
“The gauze. The case file. The sheet, the fucking extension cord.” Owada continues, turning slowly to cast his gaze at every person in the courtroom. “There’s no one else in this room who could’ve known about how Syo does her murders. There’s no one else with access to all the pieces to set this shit up. There’s no one else who would’ve had a motive-”
“What the hell are you talking about?” He manages to keep his voice halfway steady, unshaken despite the sudden onslaught, but the beds of his fingernails are beginning to ache from where he digs his nails into the grains of the wood. The inside of his mouth tastes of metal and salt, accompanied by a raw, bleeding pain in his cheek.
“A motive. You, during breakfast - didn’t you say all that shit about ‘waiting for someone to die’?” Owada sounds just as hysterical as himself. “And then, Chihiro said you were the one who told him to tell everyone his secret - were you trying to get his guard down? To make him vulnerable, like you said?!”
“You’re insane. Do you even hear yourself?” Byakuya spits back. His head spins, and he feels sick. “I would never kill Chihiro, I-”
I owe him a debt.
He can’t say that. The words freeze on his tongue before he even comprehends what he’s about to say, as if pure instinct has held it back. But his mind feels unfamiliarly, frustratingly blank, filled with the static of rushing thoughts and a haze of panic.
If he tries to explain, he reveals his blindness, and makes himself vulnerable. If he doesn’t, he risks letting himself be identified as the culprit. His options were torn between his honor and his life, and either choice would ruin him.
He hasn’t felt this cornered in years. Not since the competition for heir.
“See? See?!” Owada is still screaming, but he sounds so far away. It sounds almost frenzied, as if with triumph. “He can’t even explain himself! He tricked Chihiro, and then murdered him!”
“No, that’s wrong!”

How did you get into renruki ? Like what drew you to the ship when you started bleach ?
I would to have a cool and sophisticated answer to this that shows me to be a woman of culture and taste, but my actual answer is pretty dumb.
Rukia is one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. If you take a look at female characters I have simped for over the years (Susan Sto Helit from Discworld, Sabriel from the Abhorsen series, Cass "Batgirl" Cain, Padme Amidala from Star Wars, honorable mention of Angua von Ubervald, also from Discworld) there is are some clear patterns, and Rukia hits all the high points for me-- she's serious and good at her job, smart, practical, lonely, weirdly dramatic, not traditionally beautiful, but when she turns up, she turns up.
The first time I watched Bleach (and did not finish it, because it was not finished at the time), I didn’t ship her with anyone, I don’t think I shipped anyone, period. I also don’t particularly recall having particularly strong feelings about Renji at that time, which is weird because, he is the guy that's always my favorite guy in an anime-- the main character's rival, who is usually very strong and nigh indestructible and is kinda grumpy but not-so-secretly has a big soft heart. Ryouga from Ranma, Kuwabara from YYH, Sano from Kenshin, does Sailor Jupiter count?, I can't help it. He’s built like a fridge, but he’s still kinda wet and pathetic. Also, he has a bandana and fangs, these things are very precious to me. So, in other words, they're my favorite girl archetype and one of my favorite dude archetypes (I also like neurotic nerds but that's a different story).
The second time I watched Bleach, I was really just overcome with how much Renji cares about Rukia. He pined for her for  f o r t y  y e a r s. He works for Byakuya for her. The palpable despair he feels during the Soul Society when he doesn’t know how to keep her from being executed, the way he gets all his blood smashed out of his body, and then gets up and does it again is just Extremely My Shit.
So here’s your answer: Rukia is my all-time favorite girl and Renji is a big heap of hot garbage for her.
I’ve been brainrotting over these two goons for about 5 years now and I’ve read the manga, which is so much better than the anime, and I am constantly discovering new things that I like about them individually and together, but mostly it’s just that Renji makes this face when Rukia shotguns a beer in front of him.
Tumblr media
Runner-up stupid reason: I really, really like it when they do shit in sync.

I love the series you did on Renji and Orihime and their silliness!! Could I ask for a prompt where we can see more of them but also Ichigo and Rukia shenanigans too? I love the IH/RR foursome and love your writing too!
Title. Knot In Love (Read on AO3)
Pairing(s): RenHime Brotp, IchiRuki brotp, Renruki, IchiHime
Summary: Newly-married Kuchiki Rukia and Abarai Renji have never been shy about expressing gratitude to Kurosaki Ichigo for all he's done for them in their long journey of getting back together again. But when the ever-turbulent substitute shinigami approaches them with a favor to ask, chances are they'll find themselves roped in for more than they bargained for.
“I need your help.”
Rukia peered up from the shoujo she was reading, narrowing her eyebrows at Ichigo suspiciously. She was on paid vacation and the vampire was about to confess to the human girl so whatever this was about better have been serious enough to rouse her from her afternoon lazing or there would be prices to pay. “What did you do?”
Ichigo frowned. “I didn’t do anything,” he insisted, a little offended. Behind the veneer of his typical Ichigo-isms however, she did notice his ears were slightly pink.
She sat up immediately. Uh-oh. “What are you about to do?”
Ichigo coughed behind one hand, then stared Rukia dead in the eyes. “I need you to, uh, help get Orihime’s ring size for me.” He turned to face the wall, hands determinedly shoved in his pocket.
Rukia’s eyes widened, a range of mercurial emotions crossing her at an intense speed, too fleeting for her to catalogue any of them permanently. She chucked the book at him, hitting him square in the head.
“Ow!” He ducked under his hands in pain, blinking away a few tears as the hard-edge of the book rammed into his noise. “What’s your problem, Rukia?”
“What’s my problem?” Rukia demanded, standing up so she could tug his collar. “You’re supposed to be my best friend, you jerk, why the hell didn’t you tell me you were proposing to Orihime?!” She paused, then turned on her heel with a devious grin that Ichigo really didn’t like. “When? Where? How? Can I be there?”
“No,” he replied automatically, crossing his arms. She blew her tongue out at him rather crassly in response. “Listen, can you help me or not? I’m kinda freaking out here.”
She cooled down, shoulders slumping. “What have you got so far?” she asked gently.
He fished his hand in his pocket and brought out a little plastic ring with a ruler attached to its curve. “Bought a ring-sizer to do it when she was asleep,” he said. “But she’s been busy at the bakery so I haven’t had the opportunity to take a lot of naps with her.”
Rukia nodded grimly. “What about asking Arisawa? Or that other girl...what was her name? Chizuru?”
Ichigo made an impatient face and clicked his teeth, like he’d already gone over this. “Tatsuki doesn’t know and Chizuru doesn’t want to tell me.” He towered over Rukia, rattling her back and forth with both hands on her shoulders. “This is why I need you to do it for me.” He froze. “Hey, how did Renji do it?”
“He asked Orihime,” Rukia replied simply, with a shrug.
“So you...should know her size,” Ichigo said slowly, eyebrow twitching. “Right?”
“Nope,” Rukia said, much to his annoyance. “Don’t look at me like that, Ichigo, we went jewellery shopping a long time ago, how the hell was I supposed to remember?”
"She clearly remembered yours!" Ichigo yelled, throwing his hands up dramatically.
Rukia rolled her eyes. "It's Orihime. She remembers everything," she excused. "Look, just relax. I'll find a way to get the information, just...just stop looking like you're gonna burst, it's scaring me."
"Okay," Ichigo replied, visibly relaxing.
Rukia bit her lip. She had a few Ideas formulating already, some of which she would need some assistance with. But until then...
"Can I come ring-shopping once we're done?"
Ichigo shook his head, already picking up his phone so he could start making other arrangements. "Sorry, Ishida called dibs on that one. He’s more excited than my dad is, if you can believe it."
He began leaving his room, shrugging on his jacket with one hand, holding his phone with the other.
Rukia stared after his figure, fuming. Then,
"Ishida?! You picked Ishida over me?!" she called after him, shaking one fist in puny rage.
"We'll take you cake-tasting!" he called out dismissively, from the bottom of the stairs.
Rukia opened her mouth, then closed it. She...could live with that. She fished into her pocket-dress, fingers already rapidly skirting across the pad of the phone to dial a familiar number.
"Renji," she snapped immediately, once she heard the ringing on the other end stop. "Where are you and how soon can you get to Ichigo and Orihime's apartment?"
x.x.x.x.x.x
"It's always nice when you two stop by," Orihime cheered amicably, licking ice cream from her spoon with enthusiasm. "How are things going at Soul Society?"
"Uh, great," Renji replied, taking over the conversation from Rukia, who seemed to be peering rather obviously at Orihime's ring finger. "We got a new vending machine over at Squad Six since the last time you visited. The Captain hates it."
Orihime nodded seriously. Kuchiki Byakuya did not seem like the type to enjoy the many benefits of a vending machine. Perhaps he had gotten his hand stuck? Orihime wouldn't judge him, that had happened to her too. It was understandable.
Suddenly, she felt a hand lifting hers. "Um, Rukia," she asked, a little curiously, "What's wrong?"
Rukia jerked back suddenly, feeling her bangs slap her forehead at the movement. She quickly concealed the ring-sizer, the plastic disappearing in the folds of her dress. "Nothing!" she shouted formally, "I was simply holding your hand, as good friends do!"
"Oh that's so cute," Orihime cooed, with an appreciative nod. "I'd love to hold hands with you!" She reached out for Rukia's fingers and twined it with hers, going back to eating her ice cream with gusto, single-handed.
Renji shook his head, hiding a poorly concealed grin as he regarded the table tops. Rukia narrowed her eyes at him, and he suddenly felt a jolt of nervousness shoot up his spine. She was getting the Bad Idea look in her eyes again: a look he was overly familiar with in Rukon, when she got excitable and wanted to chase feral hogs in the fields—something that never ended well but had Renji chasing after her anyway. Rukia's eyes flashed, a dangerous grin spreading on her lips.
"You know," she said, at a conspirator's distance. "Renji is really good at palmistry." She elbowed him not-so-subtly, making him frown.
"I've never—" he started, but closed his mouth when he realized what Rukia was up to. He then quickly amended himself, shrugging with an air of nonchalance as he regarded Orihime. "Eh, I used to dabble a bit."
"He's very good at dabbling," Rukia insisted, yanking Orihime's hand and thrusting it into Renji's. She used her other hand to slyly slip the ring-sizer into Renji's broad palm under the table.
It was only years of experience that helped him catch it without a glance, not letting it clatter to the floor.
"Oh, I don't know, you guys," Orihime started, staring down at her hands. Ichigo hated these things with a passion and the last thing she wanted was another tirade from him about it but it seemed to her to be a bit of harmless fun. She shrugged, flipping the light side of her palm up. “Let’s do it!”
“Yes, let’s,” Rukia agreed enthusiastically, giving Renji a pointed look.
Renji felt a pool of sweat start to form on his forehead as Rukia and Orihime stared at him. Sure, he had agreed to help Rukia help Ichigo out, agreed to palmistry as well, but he hadn’t thought this far. He gulped.
“So,” he said, taking a breath as he regarded the thin, light lines running across Orihime’s very soft, very pink palms. “You have uh, a lot of lines.”
Orihime’s brows creased. “Is that a bad thing?”
“Renji,” Rukia hissed.
Right. He had to get his shit together or Ichigo would not be able to propose, and as someone who had struggled to propose himself, he stood deeply in solidarity with the kid.
“No, no,” he said quickly, bending so he could get a better look. “I see one of these lines,” he brushed a large thumb over the expanse of her palm, “curves outwards. That means you’re, uh...a very outgoing, adventurous person. You like trying new things.”
He peered up to gauge her reaction. Most of what he just said were things he already knew, and he suspected Orihime knew that as well, but since she didn’t factor in too much importance over this, she didn’t seem to mind. Beside her, Rukia was holding in a laugh behind her palm.
Orihime, however, just smiled encouragingly and nodded. “I do like exploring a lot.”
“Alright,” he said, steadying her wrist under one hand. “There’s three lines here. Good fortune, lotsa kids,” he suddenly bit his tongue, wondering if Ichigo was going to kill him for suggesting that. But Orihime seemed to be listening with keen interest, so he twisted the ring-sizer in his finger and inched it closer. “Maybe...four kids?”
“That’s a lot,” Rukia pointed out with a frown, eyes suddenly catching his movement. She decided to pitch in. “They aren’t even out of college yet. Anything in there about marriage?”
Orihime squeaked, turning a bright scarlet. She and Ichigo had talked about it, but they hadn’t talked about it, so the jitter in her belly made her swivel her head bashfully.
Renji used this opportunity to lift her ring finger. Almost there, his brain urged. “Your, um, marriage line,” he said, proud of himself for making up legitimate-sounding palm-reading terminology, “looks fruitful. You will marry someone who is a bit of an idiot—” Orihime giggled, “—but he cares, and he’s going to be good to you and, uh, fight to the brink of death to keep you happy...” He almost slipped the ring on, when Orihime sniffled loudly.
He suddenly looked up in mild panic. Large tears had begun to gather at her eyes, and she retrieved her hand from his grip to wipe them away from her wet cheeks. “He is really good to me,” she agreed, feeling a sudden, overwhelming bout of emotions take over her chest. “Ichigo’s the best.”
“Oh, Orihime,” Rukia exclaimed, rubbing her back with one hand. She had a weird, watery grin on her face, like she was trying to decide whether to feel upset that their mission was botched or laugh at how Orihime was going on about how much she liked Ichigo—as if everyone didn’t already know.
Renji huffed. Just when he was getting really in character! he grumbled inwardly, slipping the ring-sizer back in his pocket. He had to come up with a new plan.
x.x.x.x.x.x
Every new plan was a bust.
Renji had thought of everything, but grabbing a girl's hand was rather tough to do when she was conscious.
"We are not knocking Orihime out," Rukia mumbled under her breath, shooting down Plan #42. Ahead of them, Orihime seemed to be deep in thought as they walked back to the apartment she shared with Ichigo. Beside him, Rukia was biting her lip, furiously tapping back and forth in an all out text-war with—probably—Ichigo. Renji cleared his throat. "Say, does she look alright to you?" Orihime had seemed rather quiet post-ice cream, which—in Renji's admittedly brief experience with her—was uncharacteristic.
"Hmm?" Rukia mumbled, fingers dancing with uncertainty as she tried to find the best emoji to pair off with her expletives. Ichigo's potty mouth had gotten worse in the months they hadn't seen each other and she wouldn't stand for half-assing something as important as cussing him out. She was trying, wasn't she? She couldn't carry out her tasks if he was going to ask for updates every damn minute!
"Nevermind, I'm gonna go up to her, see what's up," Renji said, jerking his head straight ahead. "You reconfigure our ring strategy."
He left Rukia to go fall in line with Orihime. She acknowledged him with a small smile, but seemed otherwise a little inert. Elbowing her slightly, he nodded. "Y'alright?"
Orihime smiled, fidgeting with the hem of her sweater as she replied, "Yes, I'm fine." She took a breath, clearly hesitating to say something. "It's just..."
"Just what?" Renji asked, eyes widening slightly.
"Nothing!" Orihime said brightly, and her act lasted for a solid second before her shoulders slumped again. "It's just...We were talking about marriage earlier, right?"
"Uh-huh," Renji replied, feeling a sense of foreboding crawl up his spine.
Orihime sighed. "I don't know," she said, throwing her hands up in the air.
"You don't know...if you wanna marry him?" Renji prompted, looking over his shoulder to see if Rukia was listening to this because all the panic alarm bells were going off in his head. Cheesy and cliche as it was, he knew a thing or two about wanting to marry the one you loved since you were young enough to identify the feeling. He'd always thought Orihime was pretty much the same when it came to Ichigo. Was she having second thoughts? What had that idiot done to fuck up this badly?
Renji suddenly felt a mild string of panic for Ichigo.
"I do, I really do," Orihime insisted, however, cheeks pink as she gnawed her lip. "Sometimes I want it so much I go crazy just thinking about it. But..." Her tone faltered. "Sometimes I feel like a fraud. It's been so amazing so far, but I don't know if—if it's always going to be like this or if the charm will wear off and we'll both turn into people we don't like, like that couple in the show Rukia made us watch.” Knot in Love Tonight, Renji thought, but did not interrupt her. “Ichigo's always so confident because his parents were really in love and really happy together and he doesn't seem to get that not all marriages end up that way and...I don't want us to go into this because it’s what’s expected and then regret it." She took a breath, shooting Renji an apologetic wince. "Sorry."
"Nah, you're good," Renji said slowly, with a sigh. "Your folks weren't too great, huh?"
Orihime shook her head.
He blew out air through his cheeks, weighing his words with deliberation as he spoke, "Y'know I didn't have any parents either." In Rukon, you generally banded together with the first people you came across, but Renji never had that and it had never really occurred to him that he was an outlier in the general spirit world population until he met other people at the Academy. "I didn't have a good point of reference too, but I don't think that's necessarily something you need to have a good marriage."
Orihime's eyes widened. "You think so?"
Renji nodded. "Yeah. I mean, you and Ichigo really love each other, right?"
She beamed. "We do.”
"Then you'll make it work. There's no secrets to a successful marriage, you just gotta keep stumbling along until you figure things out." He paused. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to gift 'em stuffed bunnies when they're mad at you, every now and then, though I don't think that would work with Ichigo."
Orihime giggled. "No," she agreed. "Thank you, Renji-kun."
Renji flashed her a grin. "You should talk to Ichigo about it, either way," he said, holding his fist out halfway. "Never know what's gonna be around the corner, right?"
Or how soon, he thought.
Orihime smiled, feeling her tummy turn into goo as she raised her hand to bump his.
"Oi, you two!" Rukia called out suddenly, distracting Orihime in her footsteps. "What are you guys talking about over there? When did you get so far ahead?"
Renji quickly used this as a scapegoat to twist Orihime's ring finger, circling the sizer in and out as Orihime mouthed off a cheerful response back at Rukia. With a satisfied sigh, he tossed it into his pocket quickly before anyone cottoned on.
By the time Rukia caught up with them, her eyes scanned Renji's curiously. "Everything okay?"
"Perfect!" Orihime replied, clapping her hands delightedly as she continued skipping forward.
"Just perfect," Renji added, smirking as he held up the sizer behind Orihime's back.
Rukia's jaw fell open, but she raised her hand as they high-fived.
"What did you do?" Rukia demanded, appalled and intrigued. "How did you do it?"
Renji shrugged. "We just talked. Turns out I'm really good with my hands after all."
Rukia made a face at his subsequent smirk. "You're so gross," she said fondly, "but at least Ichigo owes us now."
"Us?" Renji asked, raising an eyebrow. "Last I checked, I did all the work."
"Whatever. Orihime's probably going to ask me to be her bridesmaid, so jokes on you," she bragged.
"Dunno, I think I'd make a pretty bridesmaid," Renji said thoughtfully, scratching his chin as he ducked Rukia's jabs to his kidney. "Don't reckon Ichigo would make me best man?"
Rukia scoffed. "Unless Chad drops dead, no."
"She is going to say yes, though, isn't she?" Renji asked after a while, biting his lip.
"Duh."
They both stared after Orihime's silhouette for a while, a silence falling between them. Then, Renji's face split into a grin. "Y'know I'm kinda proud of those kids," he said, jerking his head forward.
Rukia's eyes softened. "Me too."

Bursts through the wall
WASSUP BITCH! I REQUEST A LOT OF STUFF SO WHY NOT ADD THIS. DANGANRONPA X CHILD WARRIOR OF HOPE READER. LIKE THE READER IS EITHER NAGISA, MONACA, KOTOKO OR JATARO. DO THIS IF YOU WANT, of course platonic. Also sorry for the wall. I really like how you write and I have no motivation.
Does the Junko wave meanwhile fading away.
SUCKA THAT MY WALL!!! 😭 jk
WARRIORS OF HOPE READER X DANGANRONPA
Hina and Sakura
“AWHHH YOU’RE SO CUTE!” She squished your cheeks a lot, “HEY STOP! I’m the ultimate leader! Quit it! STOP! I NEED TO WORK IN THE GYM AAAGHHHH!”
She gives the best hugs (Y/N) why are you tripping! Plus Sakura and Hina are your new moms now.
Sakura usually carries you around whenever you’re worn out. Or Hina let’s you relax on her back while she does push ups.
Sometimes whenever you feel a bit left out though the best mom’s in the world give you gentle hugs and kisses.
“Hey mom-“ Hina cried when you called her mom. “Um…Ma-“ Sakura is officially your ma now: oh and she had to have a quiet moment because you called them mom!
“MY MOMS ARE LIT!” You’ll yell every time someone asks about your mom’s, “AND I’M NOT MAKING A SCENE! YOU ASKED AND STARTED JUDGING! AGHH!” Now you’re vigorously running laps around the gym room. Your mother’s watched in silence. “…..I worry for them.”
Chiaki and Ibuki
“So you two are my new older aunts?” Ibuki grins, “YEP! How does it feel to have two cool aunts.” You poker face, “Welp…couldn’t be worse.” Chiaki gently punched your head that day.
You’re smart so they expected some smart remarks, but you didn’t. You just kept to yourself and worked until Chiaki told you to relax: she then let you sit on her lap.
Nap time? Okay so why did Ibuki have to sing a lullaby just so you could name? And the lullaby wasn’t even gentle it was loud: so Chiaki came around the corner and played a calm game for you.
So you enjoy relaxing now: sorta, you’re very rigid around them. They always checked on your health, cared for you and you just think about how you’ve tried so hard to have them killed. The thought of the time you were being the warrior of hope sorta made you feel bad, “Hey you okay?” You nod then lean on Ibuki’s arm.
Toko and Komaru
“Weeee!” You ran with your arms spread out around your new mom’s. “(Y/N) watch where you’re going-Ooh!” Toko yelped as Komaru scooped her up immediately, “Sorry. She was going to ram into you.”
You’re the wild actress and well they love that about you. It’s just you try so hard to protect so many cute things: other girls, boys, animals even bugs. So they called Gonta and Gundham to get them, other kids would have clubs with you so they felt better about not having any friends.
“Whatcha makin.” You smile and continue crafting gently telling your moms to avoid peeking. “Here you go mom!” Toko held the paper, “A poem…” you then gave your other mom a crafted snowflake. “I love you guys!”
Your uncle Byakuya babysits you and you like to bombard him with gifts too. Does he keep them? Heck yes, he just won’t admit it. Just don’t ask about the paper frown on his head, he’ll personally berate anyone who asks. Kyoko however is your favorite rich aunt, but you always bother Makoto your other uncle about her. “Why won’t auntie Kyoko let me do her hair!?” Makoto snickers. “Sweetie last time you did she cried.” Kyoko had the same hairstyle you gave her for quite awhile.
Best family in the world. But your favorite mom is neither, because she lets you avoid nap time sometimes…or they both sleep with you or Komaru sneaks off to steal candy.
Mondo and Taka
“Blaaaahhh.” You paw at Taka with your mask then climb in his arms. “Yes?” You stare, then bite his arm and cling to him. “Mondo he’s biting again.” Mondo picks you up. “Kid we told ya! Quit the hitting or Imma ground Ya, Taka is not a giant chocolate bar.” You huff, “But he looks like one.”
You’re a quirky child, they love you but wow do you have no filter. “Papa Mondo, do you and dad always hold hands? Because you guys seem to have aggressive thumb rubbing moments too.” Taka stops rubbing his husband’s knuckles. “What that got to do with drawing us?” “I CANT DRAW DAD!” Mondo made you sleep in his arms after that. Nap time sucks!
You occasionally wait for uncle Hiro to walk in with Leon so you could jump them. But Hiro keeps predicting it and Mondo just carries you like a football. “Cranky boy five o’clock.” Taka chuckles before taking your mask off. You look around, “I feel naked.”
“Well you need to take this off sometime.” He then kissed your cheek. Kisses are now your favorite, you try to give it to everyone. Sometimes when you see Mondo you kiss him on the head and point at Taka. “Now smooch my dad!” They blush. “PUCKER UP PA! PUCKER UP!!”
Makoto and Kyoko
You have a strange smile, Kyoko took a liking because you knew how to keep a straight face during the scary times of adoption. But you were still an evil little gremlin and had the remnants of Junko’s plan in your head.
So they carefully taught you how to do better. You keep a Monokuma bot around to hug when you feel upset, “I wanna cuddle…” Makoto sweats. “Um-“ “(Y/N) wants cuddles!” You cuddle into him.
Kyoko doesn’t do cuddles but she does acknowledge your small achievements and efforts. Sometimes pats on the head is all you get until you one day sleep beside the woman. Makoto takes pictures of you both.
“When is aunt Komaru coming?” Makoto chuckles, “Soon.” And soon she did, with Toko and Kotoko. You drag Kotoko away and spend time with her since she’s the “love of your life” she gives the best hugs and nuzzles. Sometimes you both are found asleep on the floor in the middle of drawing.
Makoto is the pushover dad when it comes to physical affection. Kyoko just lays you on her chest and relaxes beside you, “I love my adoptive parents. They’re better than those demon parents and my demon brother!” They love you too, and still working on your mental state.

A few notes before I start: Sorry about the white backgrounds, that’s how they showed up and I didn’t know how to fix them. Also, these summaries are going to be a lot shorter than they have in my last few posts just since there are so many characters. Anyway, let’s begin.
Literally godly, this should be your regular outfit -
Rantaro Amami - I shouldn’t have to be the first person to point out to you that he’s hot. Not to mention that the pink bottoms work wonders with his hair.
Nagito Komaeda - Hhhhhhhh
Byakuya Togami - I will admit, I’m basing this position more off of his appearance in the promo art. I don’t know how much I like this look on his regular sprite, but he’s so hot in that promo art, you don’t even know.
Show me who picked this out for you so I can thank them -
Sayaka Maizono - SHE LOOKS SO CUTE OML. I’d go through each detail, but in short: everything.
Gundham Tanaka - Shirtless Gundham, what more can I say?
Ibuki Mioda - I absolutely adore how her swimsuit doesn’t just go with her hair, but matches it. Perfection.
Korekiyo Shinguji - When the trailer first dropped and I saw the screen with all of the released swimsuits, I immediately started scanning to see if they put Korekiyo in a wetsuit and by God, they did.
Shuichi Saihara - He looks more tired than usual, but I just have a gut feeling his other sprites will look better.
Mondo Owada - I probably should’ve put him in standard, but he looks so good without a shirt on, I couldn’t possibly.
Kaito Momota - Space shorts.
Sakura Ogami - She was actually going to be somewhere in the first tier originally, but I just can’t put her there because of the color. I probably should’ve put her down with the other people with this problem (Uhhh... okay... I guess) but I couldn’t bear to.
Cute!/Cool! -
Chihiro Fujisaki - a;lskdfh;adskfijshdkjc He’s so cute, someone help. I’m drowning in cute. He looks so excited to be wearing it, too. I think this was the best choice they could’ve gone with to not give him something too masculine or feminine, fantastic choice.
Leon Kuwata - This category was originally just going to be “Cute!” but his bottoms looked so cool, I had to put him up here.
Toko Fukawa - Not only does her swimsuit look good on her, but I love the way that they designed her and Genocide Jack to be wearing the same swimsuit in different styles. Super cool.
Tenko Chabashira - I think this was one of the only palette swaps that I actually liked. There are probably a few other swaps that I didn’t even notice, but I like this one specifically because of the color swap. She looks great in pink.
Kyoko Kirigiri - I think I would’ve normally put her in standard, but her gloves are just too cool.
Mukuro Ikusaba - Love the colors and love the pattern. Simple, yet great.
Mahiru Koizumi - Mahiru, your camera. You can’t take that in the water. Mahiru- MAHIRU
Akane Owari - This is actually the swimsuit she wore during chapter 2 in the original game and I thought she looked great both times.
Chiaki Nanami - Same as Akane, so there’s not really any reason for either one to be higher or lower than the other. Peko would be up here too, but it’s really basic.
Gonta Gokuhara - I just really like the pattern and also that he’s still carrying the thing over his shoulder. It’s really weird who got to keep accessories and who didn’t, but we’ll get there.
Masaru Daimon - He just looks so cool in his shorts, I’m sure he’s excited to have them.
Shirokuma - Despite how I may feel about Shirokuma, this is a very cute outfit for them.
Standard -
Kaede Akamatsu - Definitely the best-looking of the protagonists, even if Shuichi’s higher. He’s only higher because I have faith that his faults are because of the sprite choice. If I’m wrong, sue me.
Kirumi Tojo - This is another instance of getting to keep the accessories. She still has her headband on. Why?? It wasn’t crucial to her character or anything. I get that Kyoko has backstory reasons and Gonta and Mahiru’s personalities revolve around their items, but why Kirumi? She had other things that defined her better.
Peko Pekoyama - Like I said before, basic and kinda bland. She still looks good, though.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu - He actually gained an accessory. Why does he have a necklace now? His shorts are nice, though.
Hajime Hinata - O r a n g. Or maybe red.
Maki Harukawa - Basic swimsuit, no color change whatsoever. A nice swimsuit, but nothing special.
Genocide Jack - Everything I said before about Toko’s swimsuit still applies, Genocide Jack’s is just way more boring.
Aoi Asahina - A good color swap, but not good enough to make up for her basic swimsuit.
Monomi - I like that they put her in a one-piece. Very cute. Wish they would do that all the time...
Monaca Towa - I just noticed that she is the only character other than Monomi to wear a one-piece. Why??
Makoto Naegi - The most basic swimsuit imaginable combined with his regular color scheme and pattern.
Hiroko Hagakure - I think I like that she kept her jacket? Maybe? It’s a different jacket, but it still counts.
Nagisa Shingetsu - Black and white bottoms. Okay. You do you, buddy.
Imposter - It’s fine. It’s just fine.
Izuru - I like that they gave him a separate swimsuit from Hajime, but why is it so bland and boring?
I love you, so I’ll forgive it -
Sonia Nevermind - She actually looks great and is so cute. So cute that she’d be in the top tier if not for one crucial fact. If you’ll notice, I mentioned earlier that Peko, Chiaki, and Akane are all wearing the same swimsuit here that they had worn in the original second game. However, there’s another character that appears in the scene I’m talking about that is wearing a different outfit than they are here. That charcter is Sonia, who was seen in a wetsuit in the original game. It was thrown off as a joke, but I still can’t stop thinking about how pretty she looked in that wetsuit. It’s literally my profile picture for my main blog, that’s how pretty she is wearing it. I’m mad because they’re basically agreeing that she didn’t look pretty/sexy in the wetsuit when that couldn’t be more wrong.
Celestia Ludenberg - I literally just wish she was wearing a one-piece, it can be the same style and everything. Honestly a missed opportunity.
Kotoko Utsugi - It’s just a weird pattern. Love the colors, though.
K1-B0 - I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love the floaty, but he still deserves more respect.
Miu Iruma - The pattern is... fitting... but still bad.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Taka... sweetie... why...?
Uhhh... okay... I guess -
Angie Yonaga - I like the look, but it’s exactly what she usually wears just without the jacket. Does that mean that she’s always wearing a swimsuit? Why? Even Asahina didn’t wear a swimsuit as her regular outfit.
Kazuichi Soda - I definitely like this color better than the piss yellow he used to have, but it’s still not great. I like that he got to keep his little logo thing, but I’m confused as to why he gets to keep his hat. It’s just like Kirumi keeping her headpiece. I’m fine with it in this case, but why him and not...? Well, we’ll get there.
Komaru Naegi - A lot of the outfits in this tier are just because I like the look and not the color scheme, including Komaru. Yellow’s just an odd fit for the shade of green that her hair is.
Tsumugi Shirogane - The same as Komaru. Nice style, but the yellow and blue clash for me.
Hiyoko Saionji - Surprise surprise, it’s the same thing. I think the style really fits her, but I hate the yellow and green. Not into it.
Junko Enoshima - Ok, we’re out of the color scheme repetition. I don’t know why she’s wearing a tanktop. It just looks a little off, but I can’t place why. I don’t know why she isn’t just wearing the regular swimsuit like she was in the promo art. If she was, I’d probably put her in Standard.
Yasuhiro Hagakure - I’ll be honest, I didn’t notice the alien pattern on his shorts until after I had already downloaded the picture and closed out of the tier list tab. If I had noticed before, I’d probably put him in Cute!/Cool! but I still don’t really like the color scheme. Fitting, but not pleasing.
Kurokuma - The only reason he’s above Kokichi is because he has a water gun and I think that’s cute.
Kokichi Oma - Literally just gut instinct. I like that he kept his checkered pattern and purple color scheme. Something just told me he should be down here.
Monokuma - It just feels wrong, but I can’t place why, same as Kokichi.
Teruteru Hanamura - I probably would’ve liked his outfit better if his shirt was buttoned up at least a little bit. Now that I think about it, Mondo should’ve had one of these, too.
Who signed off on this? -
Usami - WHY IS SHE IN A BIKINI??? SHE’S A STUFFED RABBIT.
Nekomaru Nidai - I can absolutely see him picking this swimsuit to wear, but that doesn’t mean I like it.
Mikan Tsumiki - You know why she’s here.
God no. I hate it -
Ryoma Hoshi - So Mahiru gets to keep her camera, Kirumi gets to keep her headpiece, and Kazuichi gets to keep his hat.. but Ryoma doesn’t get anything? I genuinely had to take a second to figure out who this was the first time I saw him. He can’t even have a sunhat or anything? That would’ve been cute.
Himiko Yumeno - I can’t imagine a world in which she would choose this swimsuit for herself. The color is off, the style is off, I could much more easily see her wearing something similar to Monaca’s swimsuit. Basically, just let some of the girls wear one-pieces. They don’t all have to be in bikinis.
Jataro Kemuri - The pattern. I can’t even stand to look at it long enough to figure out what it is.
Hifumi Yamada - It did take me a second to figure out what his swimsuit was, but as soon as I did, he hit the bottom of the list. Again, it’s definitely fitting, but I still hate it.

Platonic Toko and Byakuya Things!
Oops so now I have Toko and Byakuya on the brain. I know people have said almost anything and everything about this, but I wanted to add some stuff and ramble a bit! Toko and Byakuya both mean sooo much to me as characters and the idea of them some day actually getting along has my entire heart and soul.
Spoilers for Trigger Happy Havoc and Ultra Despair Girls!
So obviously we need some time here, right. Listen I love them both but they need time apart and such; this doesn't happen overnight
I need some of that sweet, sweet Toko development first. Y'know once she stops idolizing them and sees them as an actual human being. Also how badly they treated her and vice versa. Basically, we need to throw out the entire dynamic and start fresh
Mutual apologies should probably happen and to be quite honest, I've wanted to write that out for months, but I can't decide exactly when or how it would happen, so I haven't. But I love the idea to bits.
Anyways AFTER all of that gets squared away, I genuinely think they'd make amazing friends in a weird way
They're both sarcastic, sharp, and cocky depending on the circumstance.
Like yes, Toko is e x t r e m e l y insecure, but never once does she put down her skills, and on some level, she has moments where she displays pride and confidence, too.
And to be honest, isn't Byakuya insecure, too? They just don't express it in the same ways as Toko. Chapter 4 tings, ya know?
The sheer levels of sass between the two of them is iconic, and if they ever were aiming that sass at the same target, they wouldn't survive.
Gay best friends
I'm one of those people that headcanons Toko as a lesbian with a whole lotta comphet, and tbh I imagine something similar for Byakuya. Less comphet and more not understanding what attraction is even supposed to feel like until catching feelings for a guy for the first time. Absolutely primed and ready to force themselves into relationships with women for the sake of their family's tradition before realizing it's definitely not supposed to feel that uncomfortable.
Weirdly enough they have a lot in common. I don't know if they'd ever get super close, but in the event that they did, they'd be able to relate to each other on a lot of levels.
Also the discussions of literature mmMMM good shit.
Not that they ever have a ton of free time but in the event that they do, they could probably pass a lot of time just getting into healthy debates over interpretations of things
From the outside, it looks like they're about ready to murder each other, but they can go back to being civil on a dime
Also Byakuya giving some of Toko's stuff a chance just? Hits different?
Bro especially once Byakuya ends up in a relationship because I feel like then you can get a new appreciation for that type of thing. The cheesy shit feels a bit less stupid
Listen they hate that they like it but they do like it
speaking of dating y’ALL THE DOUBLE DATES??
Komaru would get super excited about it which would make Makoto super excited about it and both Toko and Byakuya don’t know how to say no.
In laws in laws in laws
Hello Naegami Tokomaru nation how are you doing
Damn honestly it’d just be cool if they got along. It’d be really, really neat if what remains of their class could all get along as a group. Mutual healing type beat
Gosh now I’m imagining Toko, Byakuya, Makoto, Kyoko, and Komaru watching a movie together while Toko and Byakuya just rip the entire story to shreds
(Kyoko tries to stay quiet, but she does eventually join in. Albeit with a bit more composure and grace than the other two)
Komaru and Makoto are just glad to see them getting along
This is very very specific, and who knows, maybe I’ll actually write this as a fic at one point, but I have an oddly specific headcanon regarding the events of UDG and Genocide Jack and such
With the events of the first killing game being broadcast, Genocide Jack’s identity obviously becomes public, and that would cause a lot of extreme consequences for the system as a whole.
After she actually heals (ACTUALLY as an individual, not just Toko trying to control her switches) and genuinely decides to turn over a new leaf, I think Byakuya is the one who gets her, and by extension Toko, out of hot water.
They’re way too prideful to ever outright thank Toko and Jill for saving them, but in their own special, standoffish way, that’s how they return the favor- giving them that sort of Togami stamp of approval and speaking to their credibility overall
It all has a very professional air to it; however, it's the start of a rocky but good friendship
Overall that’s just how their friendship works in my head: they start spending more time together through other obligations or their significant others, and they come to the realization that they actually enjoy each other’s company when they aren’t verbally abusing and sexually harassing each other :'D
I think once they both do some serious healing, they could be really good for each other as friends. They'd get along better than both initially would think.
Thanks for reading my little rambles! I hope you enjoyed them! Hopefully I’ll write more about their dynamic someday soon. Like I said, I love them both dearly, so it’s fun to imagine!

What other Danganronpa character(s) would the Warriors of Hope be friends with?
Requested by: No One
I apologize now, I can't find gifs individually for most of them, and when I do they contain spoilers to Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls. I try to keep this blog spoiler free if possible. Thank you for understanding ☺️
Tumblr media
Masaru Daimon
Masaru would most likely be friends with Leon Kuwata and Mondo Owada
Masaru would meet Leon at one of his baseball practices
He acutally would start yelling at Leon to acutally practice and to not just sit there flirting with girls
Leon would look at this kid, shocked 😲
Leon would go over and bring Masaru down to the field and have Masaru hit some balls to put the kid in his place when he would show him up
This kid
This
Kid
Masaru would hit all of these balls, while not all home runs, he would hit them all to the back of the field.
Leon now eating his words, takes this kid under his wing.
💎
With meeting Mondo, Masaru would see all the bikes going by and he would just sit and watch
Mondo would notice and pull over to show Masaru
Masaru finds it stupidly cool.
Mondo invited him to ride with him, while handing him a helmet
They would ride around a bit together and Mondo was even cracking a smile with how happy Masaru was sounding
Mondo will give him rides to school if asked
Kotoko Utsugi
Kotoko would most likely be friends with Mahiru Koizumi and Hiyoko Saionji.
📷
Kotoko would meet Mahiru when Mahiru was taking pictures.
Kotoko would be trying to look over Mahiru's shoulder to see what she's doing
In a quick act, Mahiru would spin around and take a photo of Kotoko while smiling
Kotoko shocked would start ranting about taking pictures and how people take to many as well as ...
This went on for a while. Mahiru listened to the while thing though, and didn't interrupt Kotoko at all
Kotoko then asks to see Mahiru's pictures
Another long while later
The sky had gotten dark and both had a fun time talking to each other
Mahiru would then offer to walk Kotoko home
🐜
When Kotoko met Hiyoko something about each other clicked with the other
Like a shared trait or past
At first they didn't get along, Hiyoko squishing ants and Kotoko yelling at her to stop
Kotoko was shocked to find out Hiyoko was older than here she was convinced they were the same age
When they hang out people are convinced they are sibblings
They are both a bit annoyed by this fact.
However they hang out at least twice a week.
Jataro Kemuri
Jataro would most likely be friends with Angie Yonaga and Yasuhiro Hagakure.
🖌️
Angie would meet Jataro at an art fair.
Angie was a bit put off by the mask but her eyes would follow where he was looking at
Jataro would be zoned out looking at a lot of the art
Angie would walk over and start talking about some of the art here
Jataro shocked anyone is talking to him
Angie invites him to walk around with her and during this period together she tells him about Atua
Jataro dosent really listen to Angie after a while and just starts talking to himself about whatever
They however for whatever reason will meet up in the future and make art projects or go to art galleries together
🔮
Yasuhiro would be walking home late at night when he would see Jataro sitting on a park bench in the dark
Hiro would have a heart attack, before just trying to talk to the kid
Hiro is convinced he is a ghost
Swallowing his fear for a minute, he will sit down next to the kid and try talking to him
Jataro however just keeps muttering to himself about fairly innocent things
Hiro trying to understand him only heard the word "hungry"
He would get up and disappear for minute before returning with a paper bag in hand
Jataro looked up at Hiro, who was handing Jataro a wrapped hamburger
The two would often have dinner together after this which they both looked forward to
Yasuhiro is still convinced Jataro is a ghost
Nagisa Shingetsu
Nagisa would most likely be friends with Ryota Mitarai and Byakuya Twogami
✍️
Ryota would meet Nagisa it honestly was completely by chance
Ryota needed to buy new drawing tablet tips as his were all worn down
Nagisa needed to buy study materials and he was able to go out for once
They walked into each other and spilled all their supplies and other belongings everywhere
They both quickly went to pick their things up and Ryota began apologizing profusely
Nagisa would pick up an open sketch book and be taken aback at the level of skill and talent
Ryota being shy and embarrassed would begin to stutter, Nagisa however handed the book back saying he enjoyed the sketches
Nagisa would proceed to ask if Ryota could show him how to draw
Taken aback Ryota paused then agrees to teach Nagisa
They will meet whenever Nagisa can get away from his studies
🍗
Nagisa met Twogami when Nagisa went over to Ryota's place.
When Twogami had a look at Nagisa he handed him some chicken he had in Ryota's room saying something about how he looks "just as bad as Ryota"
Twogami mentioned Ryota wasn't home but that he would be soon and he could wait
Nagisa went in and chatted with Twogami for a bit over some food
Nagisa would talk about his studies and school
Twogami would just listen to him talk briefly about how he met Ryota. His concern for Nagisa he kept to himself however.
Nagisa honestly was shocked after talking about his studies made him feel better.
Twogami then would offer to listen to Nagisa whenever he wanted to talk
Monaca
Monca would most likely be friends with Mikan Tsumiki and Kokichi Ouma.
🩹
Mikan would meet Monaca when she volunteered at a hospital
Monaca needed help getting around and Mikan offered to push her around
They talked quite a bit and got along well
They talked about mostly things around them as they didn't have a ton of the same interests
They would play games often together
They would usually play the card game War
Mikan never really won but it wasn't the point
Mikan enjoyed their time spent together
🍇
Honestly both Kokichi and Monaca forget how they met
They both would pull tricks on each other often
It became sort of a competition and got competitive very quickly
They kept trying to prove which one of them was better than the other
This would go on for weeks
They still butt heads
They're the type of friends that yell at each other then go "I'll see you tomorrow"
They often will play competitive games against each other as well, such as Battleship and Othello.
They often will tie
They have game nights every Tuesday
Both secretly look forward for it.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
I hope you enjoy this. This took a long while. 😊
