Sebastian Sallow - Beef bourguignon (French beef stew) with scalloped potatoes

(because that boy probably eats like a hobbit and I’m all for it.) (And an Onion soup for starters and a warm caramel apple pie with vanilla ice for dessert. He’s my favourite he gets the full course.)

Ominis Gaunt - Fraisier (French strawberry cake)

(because don’t tell me that boy doesn’t love sweets and especially fancy desserts. He’d try to hide his love for cute desserts tho.)

Garreth Weasley - Fancy Grilled cheese with cheddar and onion jam

(he is the kind of guy to always enthusiastically compliment the food but never remember what it was. Just that it was good.)

Leander Prewett - Bento cake with words of affirmation

(because he needs some reassurance. Like « you’re doing great », or « good boy » to fit in the small space ?)

Amit Thakkar - Dakgalbi (Spicy stir-fried chicken)

(I’m sure that poor boy suffers from being forced to eat British food everyday but I don’t want to insult his palate with my poor knowledge of Indian cooking. So Korean spicy chicken it will be, I bet he’d be eager to discover a new cuisine.)

Poppy Sweetings - Onion tart and a muffin

(all vegan because that girl would be vegan, and she needs food easy to eat while out while she cares for beasts.)

Natsai Onai - Cinnamon rolls with a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream

(because I’m sure her mother doesn’t let her eat too much sugar but she loves it.)

Imelda Reyes - Cacio e Pepe pasta

(because she needs her carbs as a quidditch player and she must like simple things. And she’d tell me I did it wrong, like Italians when you cook Italian food. Same attitude.)

Anne Sallow - Juk (Korean rice porridge) and brownies

(rice porridges in many Asian cultures are popular when sick, to give strength. And a yummy comforting dessert for that strong girl.)

Summary: My Headcanons for sharing a bed with the boys!

Sebastian:

When you first asked him if he wanted to share a bed, he practically jumped straight in it. He was so excited. 

But that was just the first time. 

He stays up reading almost every night so good luck getting him into that bed in the first place after that. 

And by late I mean genuinely unholy hours of the night kinda staying up and he wonders why he looks so tired. 

If you do eventually get him in bed, it doesn’t take him long to actually fall asleep. Aside from the constant lack of sleep he usually gets, he’s always been one to fall asleep quickly. 

He is a human body heater. 

Some nights you may not even need a blanket because he’s just that warm. 

I feel like Seb would be the kind of guy to practically sleep on top of you. Like not enough to crush you but instead it feels like a really nice weighted (and warm) blanket. 

Except for this blanket snores. 

Loud 

I’m sorry I don’t make the rules. 

Sometimes it's really annoying to share a bed with him and other times it's really nice. 

If he ever comes to bed early, it’s how you know he’s had a rough day and just needs to be in your arms for comfort. ..

Ominis:

Unlike Sebastian who would totally be up to sharing a bed, he would be more hesitant. 

It’s not like he doesn’t want to, per se, but he’s used to having his own space and he’s not necessarily the most touchy person. But eventually, he says he’s ready. 

Kinda awkward the first few nights. He slept with his back towards you and didn't make any physical touch at all. 

But after a couple of nights, he slowly starts making the shift to get closer to you and he comes to enjoy it. 

After that, he finds it hard to sleep without you. 

Due to not having the best childhood, he often has nightmares. And for him his nightmares are extremely unnerving due to the fact that he can’t see anything, only hear things. 

But one of the best parts about sharing a bed with you is the fact that whenever his nightmares wake him up, you’re right there next to him. 

He often finds himself reaching out for you in the middle of the night, just to make sure you’re still there. 

 He’s definitely a side sleeper so sometimes you’ll sleep in the spooning position together. This also reassures him a lot that you’re still next to him. ..

Garreth: 

Didn’t take long for you two to start sharing a bed at all. 

Since he has so many siblings he probably had to share a bed with one of his brothers at some point in his childhood anyway. 

But just because he might be used to it does not mean he’s easy to share a bed with. 

This boy is a BED HOGGER. 

If you are quite literally not right up against him, you’re falling off the bed. 

You thought Seb gets hot when he sleeps? 

Well, Garreth has him beat by a LONG shot. 

You could probably fry an egg on this man's back just saying. 

But we all know Garreth has that soft tummy action going on so he’s super comfortable and when he’s not hogging the bed, it’s really nice to cuddle up to him. 

When you too are cuddling, he wants to be as close to you as possible. 

So, really, just the sweetest boy to ever exist. ..

Leander: (because he deserves his place on this list) 

He’s similar to Ominis and opposite of Garreth. 

Had very few siblings growing up, probably only one or two so he was used to having his own space. So it took him a while before he was all good with it. 

This boy is lanky af. 

It’s obviously okay. He’s tall, long, lanky, whatever you wanna call it. 

So he probably sleeps with his legs up somehow to keep his feet from hanging off the bed/smacking into the headboard. 

It probably took him a while to get used to cuddling with someone in bed but now that he’s used to it, he loves it. 

He loves it when you sleep on his chest so he can wrap his arms around you and hold you close. 

He’s definitely not a morning person so have fun getting him out of that bed.

Also has really bad bed-head. How do I know this? No man would style his hair the way he does unless he has bed-head so take my word for it. 

100% a cuddler now. ...

I want to ramble about Homelander in bed. 

Blah blah "Homelander is a sub!", "NO, he's a Daddy Dom!", "No, he's!" He's whatever you want to fap to, who the fuck cares

He's none of the above. I don't think any D/s dynamic roles encapsule Homelander, not even Switching. (It's not his scene, bondage is a waste of time, this collar look stupid, don't call me that, that's weird...)

He's simply not into sticking to any set kink dynamics. (The vibes are off, fam. He'd be the vanilla boy within the BDSM dungeon. Confused and bemused.)

He doesn't have some innate desire to give up control to someone constantly, or to lead someone with a firm or gentle hand. Switching, yeah but he doesn't care enough to begin with. He's too insecure and uncertain of what he is as a person to even understand slipping into a role in the bedroom. Too volatile and what he wants and needs switches depending on his mood and/or partner.

What he is, is a starving man and his partner is the feast.

Poor idiot doesn't even know how to do intimacy properly and has gotten all of his sexual education from someone grooming him, someone paired with him for publicity, and porn.

The dude is lost. What he in bed I feel like boils down to three specific things:

Sadistic - He's a bully, he's mean, he likes watching others suffer in some form or another. (Giving pain play, orgasm denial, edging, forced orgasm, overstimulation)

GGG - Good, game, giving. He'll try anything and be up for whatever as long as his partner is into it. The dude can't be harmed in conventional ways, what's he got to fear?

Attention whore - Craves positive attention in any form (wanting to please his partner, praise kink to the MAX, receiving worship play, demanding attention, bratting, pestering and teasing, topping from the bottom)

-and then how those three things manifest depends wholly on his partner.

With Madelyn Stillwell, he wanted to be her good boy. He craved her praise and affection and he was restrained because she wanted him to be. He's a brat, he's petulent. He's needy. He's picking a fight with a toddler. She's his Mommy Dommy. I suspect she denied and teased Homelander endlessly and he took whatever scraps she gave him because he was starving for it.

With Maeve, they would have been two equals that he was horrifically territorial of. She was his and he had no issues broadcasting that to the world while emotionally intimidating her, but never getting physical. No, she's a god just like him. You can't hurt gods so why would he try?

With Stormfront, she encouraged all of his bad behavior, so Homelander was reckless and hungry. Break shit and fuck like animals, push and pull and playing with their combined strength. They're primal and at war and it's fun.

Soyeah, Homelander is going to fill whatever role suits his partner best. He's going to pay attention to what gets his partner off because he wants that positive response from them. It can be a good thing, or it can lead to the most toxic relationship possible. The man is fucked so it can go sideways fast. You're gonna need a strong constitution, a steel spine, and willpower to survive Homelander at the start else you'll get steamrolled and dropped by the plot like Becca AUGH.

Is it the fear mingled with arousal that gets them all hot and bothered like I imagine poor Hughie would feel with Homelander? Fuck, he's going to exploit that. He's gonna make that twink jump in fright every chance he gets.

What about little Starlight getting a spine and trying to play his game? Yeah, he's going to push those buttons and show her how good he can actually be for her. The gnawing need for the praise from the girl next door would eat him alive.

With Butcher? Scorched earth, baby. They're going to destroy each other in the most toxic, hate-fuck filled fest. Just tearing chunks out of each other to show the other that they can still feel. Raw and painful.

Until Homelander actually figures out who he is without his powers, status, or fame? He's going to play whatever role his partner needs, be that god, perfect gentleman, monster, or sweet boy. Then again, he's all of that and then some at once. He'll want to devour his partner in one moment, consume them wholly and just taketakeTAKE and the next he wants the intimacy that comes with being inside them/them inside him and he's so so so soft and gentle and reverent when he strokes them, and then he's a bastard who wants to twist the knife and make them beg and cry and scream and just tell him what to do, he'd do anything just to know he's loved.

-and anyway, this man is broken and the perfect putty for anyone to mold sexually consciously or subconsciously.

Not a Dom, not a sub, or a switch, but a chameleon.

Ominis seeking comfort

where ever you may be Ominis finds you. When you see him walking towards you you immidiatly notices in his walk that something is wrong. It‘s a bit slower than usual, his face looks sad and in his shoulders are slumped though despite that he isn‘t admitting to it. Acting like everythibgs normal until you two alone.

He likes to just talk what is making him sad or maybe angry and he appreciates when xou listen to him and talk to him. Sometimes he tends to get a bit…louder. When he is angry though he will apologize for venting to you. He always does and then thanks you for being there for him

Wouldn‘t initate it himself but give him a good hug. Hold his hands, rub his back, his arms, a good tight hug which he will gladly take and hug back.

And if you ever need someone to vent to than he will be there for you in return.

Falling asleep together headcanons (+ reactions)

Was in the mood for some fluffy headcanons so I decided to treat myself. Here's how I picture the main cast falling asleep together with MC plus other characters reacting to it 🖤

Poppy Sweeting 🦡

Snuggling together in the crook of Highwing’s wing is just perfect. It’s warm, safe, and it comes with the additional benefit of Hippogriff protection. Also, she totally has a pet Niffler to keep away bad dreams.

Natty’s reaction: Finds it adorable. She’s glad Poppy has finally found a human friend she dares to be this intimate with. Also, she likes how they resemble a mother keeping watch over her young ones; it reminds her to go give her own amai a hug.

Anne’s reaction: She sees a parallel as well, but with her brother. She’s reminded of the comfort of his arms, where she always feels like everything will be all right and nothing can hurt her. Kinda wants a therapeutic sleep Hippogriff now too.

Natsai Onai 🦁

They fall asleep in front of a fireplace in the Room of Requirement, MCs head on her lap. She lovingly strokes their hair until she feels her own eyelids getting heavier. Might as well close them for a quick nap of her own.

Poppy’s reaction: She passes them on her way to the vivariums. Merlin, that’s lovely. She would absolutely join them if she weren’t so terribly busy. But here, they can have a Puffskein to keep them warm and comfortable.

Sebastian’s reaction: It’s a moment of bittersweet deja vu for him. Anne used to sleep on his lap like that all the time when they were little. Hopefully Natty is able to offer MC the same comfort as he was back then.

Imelda Reyes 🐍

A high castle tower or a nice tall mountain spire; as long as it’s hard to reach so no one can bother them when they finally have a moment to their own. The temperatures might not be ideal, but they have each other’s body warmth to keep them warm.

Poppy’s reaction: She spots them while taking Highwing out for a flight around the highlands. She chuckles to herself as she watches them cuddle just a few feet away from a head-dizzying drop. That looks nice; she must try that out with Highwing sometime.

Amit’s reaction: He’s out stargazing when he spots something curious on the top of a high mountain. As he adjusts his telescope, his mouth falls open… is that?

Well, to each their own, he supposes. Personally, he prefers the relative comfort of the Astronomy Tower.

Ominis Gaunt 🐍

He introduces MC to the amazing concept of floors. There are lots of them and they’re so comfortable too! He’s glad to point them to all his favourite spots so they can nap together between classes… or after.

Natty’s reaction: She think’s a bit impractical, but it actually looks quite wholesome. Next time she’ll have to remember to offer MC her flank to sleep on if they ever feel tired. Gazelle fur probably makes for a better pillow than cold stone.

Amit’s reaction: He’s so engrossed in his Astronomy manual that he doesn’t see the two bodies on the floor until he trips over them. Will hastily apologise to the two groggy faces turning up to him and take his leave. Who in Merlin’s name sleeps on the ground?

Sebastian Sallow 🐍

Can’t go wrong with a certified classic. History of Magic is the perfect time to catch up on the sleep they lose running around the Restricted Section at night. He will offer MC his shoulder to lean on and they quietly doze off together… until woken up by the cold shower of a certain mind-numbing spectral Professor passing through them.

Ominis’ reaction: He’d recognise that snoring anywhere. Might come up with a sarcastic quip, but most of the time he will probably just join them. His friend has two shoulders, doesn’t he?

Imelda’s reaction: Would probably be more inclined to call the gesture romantic if they weren’t drooling all over each other. Merlin’s sake, go find a broom closet already.

Amit Thakkar 🦅

Stargazing is one of their favourite nightly pastimes. He’s so prudent, always bringing snacks and a big blanket to keep them comfortable as they take turns peering through the telescope. More often than not, they’ll end up cuddling together underneath it, MC softly falling asleep on his shoulder.

Anne’s reaction: Finds the whole display utterly romantic. If she’ll ever get another chance at a life free of pain, this is how she wants to spend it with her potential lover; falling asleep together under the beautiful night sky.

Imelda’s reaction: Hah. Nerds.

Anne Sallow 🐍

MC’s relaxing baths are just heavenly. They always take such good care of her, delicately washing her hair and shoulders until she feels herself drifting away from the physical pain and torment. MC will settle down next to the bath and hold her hand to make sure she doesn’t accidentally dip under water. Will probably close their own eyes for a minute too.

Ominis’ reaction: He didn’t mean to walk in on them, but he realises what’s going on when he hears the soft snoring coming from the bath. He smiles to himself. Good for them; it’s been so long since Anne had a decent rest. He’ll quietly take his leave to let them sleep.

Sebastian’s reaction: They are doing WHAT now?

No surprise, he’s not that happy about it

~Modern AU~ Early morning sunbathing in Southern France

I like to think that Ominis hates cold and humid weather and took the first opportunity to escape his family by flying away to Southern France.

As a member of a posh family, he’d have learnt French, so it would have not been too hard to blend in.

He would live a simple life, close to Muggles. No children of his own, but he’d gladly take a fatherly role if his partner is a single parent.

💚 Sebastian Sallow headcanons 💚

Sebastian has a habit of rambling. Asking him any personal question about his feelings is a surefire way to get him to ramble about whatever he is researching at that current moment with nervous energy instead of answering. It's not only when he's nervous, to be fair, he just has a tendency to ramble in general. The boy is a Nerd. You will always find him around the castle with his nose in a book, so any opportunity to talk about the thing he is currently interested in, he's taking it.

High key ADHD. Boy cannot be still to save his life. He's always moving in some way, be it tapping his foot, twirling his wand, playing with your fingers-- he's moving some body part. It can definitely be annoying at times, but you can't help but let him continue, especially when he has that cute consentrated face.

He's a lightweight. It doesn't take much for him to get absolutely plastered, and when he's that sloshed he has endless amounts of energy. It's like taking his normal golden retriever-ness and ramping it up to 100. I'm talking climbing on tables and singing Scottish Gaelic folk songs (he's fluent in the language) with a full conjured folk band (fiddle and all) until Ominis drags him to his bedroom. He always gets invited to parties.

Can speak, read, and write many languages, but his favorite is latin. Again, he's a huge nerd, so he learns as many languages as he can so he can read any book he encounters. He teaches his friends latin and sometimes likes to leave them little notes that no one else can read. You can bet he made up a secret language that only he and Anne knows; not even Ominis can crack it. 100% tried to learn Parseltongue out of spite because Ominis said it was impossible to master if you weren't born with it. Sebastian knows a few words after making his friend repeat phrases tediously over and over until he got at least some of it, and it drives him insane that Ominis was technically right (Ominis is very smug about this).

Sebastian is super affectionate with his friends. He grew up in a house that valued physical touch and comfort, so random hugs and little touches are second nature. He'll guide your hand when learning new spells because he used to do the same to Ominis in first and second year, ruffle yours and Ominis' hair when he's feeling playful, bump his shoulder against yours in the hallway when he's feeling mischievous, and sometimes fully lay across the both of you, feet in one persons lap and head in the other, and make you play with his hair when he's tired, sad, or stressed.

A big softy around animals. He's not much of a cat person and won't really go out of his way to pet them or play with them (unless they initiate first) but he will never turn down playing with a dog. He has always wanted one of his own, but his parents died before they could get one and Solomon hated house pets. He likes to hang out with the nifflers the most in beasts class-- he finds them adorable and their energy hilarious. Sebastian sometimes carries little shiny things he finds around the highlands for them.

The Mom Friend™️. Always has what you need in his pockets. Have to sneeze? Here's a tissue. Need a vial for some potion ingredient? Say no more. Have a headache? He has a potion just for that. He has everything. Honestly, you wouldn't be surprised if he put an extension charm on his robe pocket for that exact purpose. The boy always has to be prepared for anything, even the absolute worst case scenario.

So clumsy. He'd trip over air if he wasn't careful. When he's dueling he's perfectly fine, but just walking around or talking with his friends? He's accidentally running into walls or knocking things over. It's never on purpose or because he's incompetent, it's just that he gets so wrapped up in what he's talking about that he doesn't notice his hand gestures getting too close to the potion he's brewing or see the turn just up ahead. Ominis makes a lot of jokes that Seb needs his echolocation charm more than he does, but it's all in good fun.

Summary: My HC's for how Sebastian and Ominis react to their partner crying over something silly. (We've all done it)

Sebastian:

He’s wondering why you’re crying at first. He’s really concerned and obviously wants to know what’s going on. 

I mean, you’re absolutely hysterical. How is he not supposed to be concerned? 

When he finally calms you down enough for you to speak, he definitely wasn’t expecting to hear what he did. 

You proceeded, through tears, to tell him the silliest reason why you were sad and beyond just crying at this point. 

He lets out a laugh at first, not a mean one but one purely of disbelief. 

But his attitude changes immediately once he realizes you are being absolutely one-hundred percent serious right now and that you are truly upset.

He quickly apologizes for laughing, telling you that the reason why you’re crying is completely valid–even if he doesn’t understand it. 

He tries his best to comfort you but what do you say to someone who’s crying over something so silly? He has no idea. 

But he just wants you to know he cares a lot. 

Pulls you into his arms and tries to validate how you feel. 

And after a while he gets you to calm down about it and later you two have a laugh about it. 

But overall you’re just glad he cares so much, even if it's over something silly. ..

Ominis:

Immediately, he’s a bit concerned. 

I mean certainly, if you’re this hysterical, something terrible must’ve happened. 

But he also hates prying and isn’t sure if he should talk to you until you calm down, just to make sure he doesn’t upset you more than you seemingly already are. 

Eventually, he gets himself to get up and ask you what’s wrong, expecting it to be pretty serious. 

Then you recount the silly story to him about why you’re upset and he doesn’t expect it at all. 

He’s a little surprised, that’s for sure, but he knows what it’s like to not have your feelings validated about situations or other things. 

So although it’s a little silly, he hugs you and tells you that it’s okay and that you’ll be okay. 

He just wants you to know he’s there for you. 

When you’re also upset about yourself crying over something so silly, he tells you that it’s okay to cry and be upset about things, even if they are silly.  

He really is just the sweetest. ..

I have a question. This is inspired by the recent discourse, but it's not about the recent discourse. I'm genuinely interested to learn: How common is it for people to participate in fandoms where they haven't read/watched/played the source material? I don't mean, like, before you've finished the source material, or before you've consumed every single installment/season/interpretation of it, but when you have not engaged with it at all.

I ask because this is practically unfathomable to me, and I always figured I was in the majority on that. I've found that I can't engage with fanworks if I haven't interacted with the canon, and the thought of producing fanworks for something I've never read/watched/played is horrifying to me, both because of the potential for embarrassment and because it just... doesn't seem like it'd be fun.

Have any of y'all gotten involved with fandoms where you have virtually zero knowledge of the source material? What was that like? And why?
