Thank you! Yeah he's been on my list to appear for several chapters now but it wasn't right yet -- had to get all the feelings and stuff out in the open first.

I love writing about him, he's so fun to play with. Poor Bruce was being teased a lot but Clark would be mortified to know what they were thinking about him.

I also think it's super interesting that this bond is so undetectable to him, when usually his powers sniff out any new thing or development. So he might be figuring out that something is wrong, but he can't sense it, or see it, or feel it at all -- that's limited to a very small number of people, like Zatanna, J'onn, etc.

Hello, have you thought about writing or have you already written something about your ocs? I'm referring mainly to those from mte198x and those from ubetella, if you wrote it, did you post it somewhere?

Truth be told, I used to write pages upon pages of roleplay (and solos - hi TiH!!! :D) back before college... and then after college I stopped finding any joy in it. It takes a part of my brain that I'd rather invest in drawing instead so I usually draw out what I'd write. Plus also I need an editor to fix my cringe flowery prose 🤪 but god I wish I could manifest my own fics about them cause Im really particular about it. Ive only really got a series of blurbs about mte198x on a masterpost somewhere around here (no focus on exneo- just the whole AU) and Ubetella would take so much courage to share lmfao

6. what's the hardest part of the writing process for you?

There's a lot of things really. I have trouble connecting scenes sometimes because I have ideas for Things I Want to Happen but they cannot happen unless I bridge the gap to make it make sense. You'd be surprised how many scenes I've written and was never able to expand into full fics that now languish in my drafts. Other than that the true bitch of writing is titling my fics. Feel like collapsing and wailing every time I finish something and have to christen it. Nothing I hate more.

7. how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?

Like just about every fanwork creator I thrive on attention. I treasure every comment I get and I remember a lot of people who leave kudos on my fics as well. Engagement is sort of the point of sharing fics to begin with after all. I write to indulge myself but I post to hopefully lure people with the same tastes as me so I can inflict images upon them. Fandom is at its best when it's a communal experience so I do hope to get at least 1 kudos on any given fic. Though if I was primarily occupied with feedback I would probably write very different things. I have bigger fandoms and ships I could easily put time into if I really wanted to see more interaction.

I would give lines from the first fic I thought of, Chain Guy, some crack fic, since I can barely get through it without laughing anymore (and it's much better written) - but I can't pick a scene without copy and pasting the whole thing. It is from an outsider pov from a made up character that questions why stiles is buying so many chains. I love how it just exists.

god I'm so fucking furious at the removal of Te Reo Māori names from organisations around Aotearoa. it's a complete non-issue, every organisation has the English name directly underneath the Māori name. I have never once as an English speaker been unable to understand what an organisation is for. Winston Peters, the Deputy Prime Minister, who is literally Māori himself, said “Te Papa is a historic name but tell me this waka kotahi, how many boats have you seen going down the road?”. Waka does not just mean canoe. it means vessel, and waka kotahi (the transport agency of Aotearoa) explains this VERY SIMPLY on their official website. waka kotahi means to travel together as one. Can you see how fucking upsetting this is. A Māori person in power who is in agreement about banning his own language, being so cocky about something that he does not even understand due to the suppression of the language of his people. It makes me sick. I've seen reports from Māori people all over Aotearoa speaking out about how upset and furious they are, how decades of progress have been undone in the fight to restore the rights of their people who have for so long been oppressed and have suffered the effects of colonisation. Please share this if you can, I hate knowing how few people will hear about this, I know there is so much injustice in the world right now and it is so exhausting, I know. I love you all, keep it up.

what is the Malice canon divergent timeline?

“Memories of Malice” was originally the name for a specific animatic project (that is still in the works) of a specific scene I have for this canon divergent timeline but I’ve decided recently to use it as the umbrella term for the entire thing

“Memories of Malice” is a - primarily spicynoodles focused - timeline that diverges from canon by having different lore of the Samadhi Fire in the series.

In this timeline, ‘Red Boy’ had recently returned home from being a disciple of Guan Yin when he was challenged by the Lady Bone Demon. LBD had known that the Samadhi Fire Red Boy created was the one thing strong enough to stop her and so she used her abilities to manipulate the memories of the world to attempt to not only kill Red Boy, but erase any trace of him from history.

Red Boy was just a tad too powerful for that, though, especially thanks to his recent time spent with Guan Yin. So the process was not completed. However, the world’s memory of him was still SEVERELY torn apart and that included ripping any trace of the Samadhi Fire away from him.

History was altered.

There were no records of Red Boy existing anymore and anytime it seemed as though someone may remember, the detail of who he was was lost and treated as unimportant. (Think: Tang couldn’t remember who Wukong got Guan Yin’s help and vase to defeat in Dumpling Destruction)

His parents had a vague understanding and feeling that he was their son, so they had accepted as much, but the nature of the magic LBD used meant they never thought too hard about the lack of memories. And a lack of memories means any type of bonding over the years was missing for them. Which is why DBK and PIF are so cold to him.

Red Boy is immune to this amnesia, but he found out real quick that there was no point in fighting it. What LBD had done was done and he was not in a position to fix it. (This timeline also explains how he knows how to travel to the Celestial Realm while claiming to have never been there before)

There’s a moment where Red Boy accepts what happened to him and changes his name to Red Son as some symbolic move. And this is also why he is loud and dramatic and refers to himself with his full name from time to time.

He’s terrified of it being forgotten, of LBD’s magic coming back and finishing what she started. So he yells out “I, RED SON” as a sort of preemptive answer to that problem.

MK’s history is also altered in this timeline. Here he is a trans male who has not felt a need to physically transition. He ran away from his biological family and was latter adopted by Tang and Pigsy as a young teenager. He was born a human and was gifted all these demon powers and attributes by Monkey King. (My fic “Somewhere Only We Know” goes a bit more into exploring the insanity of the changes MK went through with becoming a Celestial Monkey via Monkey King giving him his power and “Obligation”/“Sorry For Not Being Enough” both reference MK’s shitty home life)

“Memories of Malice” is the timeline that leads to Peter and Xiaobo (the hybrid twins who are enigma’s because of MK’s complicated situation of being born a human but no longer being one) and later Randall Barrilleaux (my Cajun OC that I made on a wild whim to be tongue-in-cheek and shipped him with Peter because I miss Vine and now I’m obsessed and he’s a serious part of the timeline now) and there’s a lot with them involved as well as a lot of specific things that happened that have to do with how spicynoodles got together and original ideas for world-building demon culture and other scattered things.

But there’s no need to stuff every single significant scene and world building info dump into one singular post lol
