first look at the monster high g3 animated series

alright rather than bombard u all with a series of posts im just gonna go in for a second watch and put a play by play of my impressions under the cut. reader beware: its going to be long and stupid as hell.

0:18 the new design for the school is kind of amazing. like part of me misses the more traditional spooky-gothic-castle but like i cant deny that the big lightning bolts look cool af and i do think it has more character than the g2 which imo just kind of looked like. a school.

0:33 new spectra is soo cute lol she wasnt anywhere near my fav in the old series but smth about the big flowy purple curls is rly charming me this time around

1:10 i rly like a lot of these background monster designs. this zombie girl in particular is very cute and also i think i spied a werewolf boy in the back who i liked.

1:19 still obsessed with this cleo design. hope future dolls get better at capturing her charm and in general they stop being so weird abt her race and skin color. also for all that ive seen folks worry that this gens cutesier design will mean taking out the more horror-adjacent elements for the sake of better fitting the typical Girl Toy brand, im so happy to see mh3 doesnt shy away from a bit of tasteful gore <3

2:08 i wasnt sure where to put this part but im still sort of struggling with this concept of monsters hating witches, especially considering in this version witches arent like a separate monster-adjacent species (rip casta fierce) rather witchcraft just seems to be something anyone can learn to do? i dont entirely hate it i just dont get it i guess. i do think itd be fun if later there was like a witch high rival school. possible opening for the long awaited ever after high crossover event? anyone?

2:45 i know its just a vampire joke but in before g1 purists get mad abt the idea of g3 draculaura actually biting ppl even though shes a vegan in g1. i mean i think theyll probably keep that trait since its a handy way to avoid blood in a kids show and its sorta quirky-endearing to boot but i think itd rule if they let draculaura bite some people this time around tbhhh.

5:11 ok i know i said this when the sneak peak came out but the idea that heath is an actual demon and son of the literal DEVIL this time around, confirming that hell is real in monster high lore, is making me insane. i genuinely love it. wish theyd given heath some cute lil horns or a tail.

5:15 THAT THING WITH THEIR EYES!!!! frankie is so damn cool.

5:37 dracula being this like celebrity in the monster world i think is an interesting take but i feel like im gonna get so annoyed if his character starts showing up a lot. idk i dont hate it its just a weird vibe.

6:05 it took a while to click since clawdeen doesnt talk a lot in this ep but it is kind of weird hearing her (and draculaura) without an accent. i kinda found g1 draculauras voice a little grating at times so i dont mind that and i do rly like how clawdeen sounds more like an actual kid but idk i miss the accent

6:28 theres not a whole lot to say on deuce since hes only here for side gags in this ep but just wanted to go on the record with: i think hes cute

6:42 weirdly super enamored with the food-creatures, especially the burger lol. reminds me of bugsnax. also this whole fight sequence rly displays how far mh animation has come from rigid flash animations of a handful of stock characters. its neat.

9:08 lol ok i know its probably just another reference to dracula being bad with technology (cute trait for him tbh) but when i first saw this i couldnt help over-analyzing with my Lore Brain and wondering if it was also a reference to vampires not showing up on camera. but then i realized the kid he takes a pic with also has fangs and bat wings and shows up fine so thats probably not it, especially since drac canonically shows up fine in video.

9:50 the "bat out" reoccurring line is so incredibly cheesy it makes sense hes quoting it from some 70s b-movie he was in. but that doesnt make it any less cringey to me. also i know i said he kinda annoys me and he does but i do desperately wanna know how this bitch got into show business. drac backstory please. dracstory, if you will.

10:45 im reeeeally excited to see how this plot develops. i honestly assumed this series would be more like the web shorts except longer and more developed. as in, episodic and largely unrelated to one another, but im soo hype to see them doing something more serialized with overarching conflict and stakes. also we <3 classic troublemaking cant mind her own damn business toralei. like girl you have no reason for acting like this. she is simply a messy bitch.

final thoughts: really really liked it. love the visuals and the ways the new characterization plays with old beloved traits. love that this series has more of a familiar cartoon hijinks vibe rather than leaning too hard into it being like a Teen Girl Show just because the toys are first and foremost a fashion doll line. i dont know if im articulating that well i just mean i like that the girls are allowed to have like a full range of motion and action and emotion, and that they can be like gross and funny in addition to pretty. i think g1 had a good start in this regard but was definitely limited both by the animation and the expectation to follow that niche established by like barbie/bratz animated works (no hate to any of those either tho)

there are changes that ill need to get used to obviously, but i feel like the franchise is heading in a strong new direction. i saw some folks complaining that the bits about draculauras witchcraft and clawdeens half monster/half human felt like they were introduced as a means to employ annoying Fantasy Racism tropes, and thats a really valid criticism, but its also kind of something monster high has always done (with regards to monster/human conflict, certain monsters being discriminated against for certain traits, jackson jekylls entire character, etc).

i get the concern, but i feel like in a series so centered on embracing differences its kind of impossible to not include issues of discrimination, and it being a kids fantasy series, that does sometimes translate in a way that feels wonky or oversimplified at best. tho tbh monster highs execution regarding the subject always kind of felt to me like one of the better ones. idk. im just feeling good about this first look and excited to see how the show and the monster high franchise as a whole develops further as we move forward.

anyway stan g3 lagoona she deserves better than the g1 purists have been giving her.

currently @mr-loverbee & i r doing uhh lets see werewolf au, magic au, and most recently angel/devil au magic school au is fun because its really great to think of better ways to handle this shit than jk rowling the possibilities r limitless so far i have a rly detailed idea of the magic system & vague plot 4 this so if u wanna see any of that i have a few spreadsheets worth of info & a good 4000 words of non rp writing

most of them have 1-3 character sheets but im 2 lazy 2 dig those up rn so ill give a brief summary of them all or whatever

uve met naivix & cody, they r the head honchos of this operation & the originals (i mean technically siuoll came first but nobody cares)

their main schtick is that nick is a wonderful amazing alien boy (in like 3 aus) and otherwise just a wonderful amazing boy. he does him some archery & shit, he is amazing in every way, he is hot, and he is @mr-loverbee's idea of a manwhore. cody is a human sack of shit. in p much every au he is a conspiracy theorist who lives in his basement, which his father set up for him after pulling him out of school in 7th grade. from there codys education consisted of 4chan browsing. since i wrote this character 4 the 1st time hes changed a little bit -- for one ive made his story a little more watertight and yk. just generally fixed it up. he was intended to be a joke character. he ended up being the reason i got a boyfriend. shit changes.

they are basically all relationship goals. thank you.

siuoll and yvonne? siuoll likes yvonne. yvonne really doesnt know how she feels. they are childhood friends with naivix, who loves them but continues to pursue a wider circle, leaving siuoll, the depressed homebody, and yvonne, the shy introvert, to fend for themselves. in most aus, siuoll considers cody, who joins their group very late, bad news. (basement dwelling alien? potential friend stealer??). yvonne and cody, though, become very close and reach a deep understanding. this group is cuddly. they are an outlet for cuddles. these four absolutely cuddle profusely.

maynrd and huntte? huntte is minding his own business. he is an upright prick who would never break a rule. he has a repressed desire to be a rock star and he keeps a guitar that he cant play hidden in his home. maynrd is annoying, flawed, and painfully charismatic. he is an actor, he wants to be seen, and he and huntte are matched mostly in their egomania. they are opposites and so they r vry funny to play and 1000% good corruption arc material. maynrd and huntte r go-to main characters for black-and-white morality plots -- superhero/supervillain, angel/devil, etc. these two are fun -- i love making huntte go absolutely batshit.

amorei is caught between the two. she starts pretty consistently as hunttes girlfriend, however, the two are similar in their strong wills and quick tempers. though maynrd, amorei, and huntte are three of a kind, they are just different enough that no matter how you slice it, it just doesnt pan out cleanly

most plots involve some sort of huntte corruption arc, or require maynrd to be hurt before the two realize how one truly cant exist without the other. a fantastic outlet for drama

to continue on amorei, after huntte turns his back on her, she pursues vaughn. though she still has feelings for huntte, she would prefer to ignore them and seek easy outlets for her bitterness as opposed to addressing the bigger problem. in some aus she is good friends with maynrd despite their love triangle -- they both need someone to gripe about huntte to, after all

vaughn tolerates amorei, though at the end of the day she isnt entirely invested in it. she cares, but in a distant way, and she isnt able to return amoreis angry passion. amorei deserves a lot better, in short

auriga & alexia r off 2 the side. auriga is often unexplored and alexia is mostly just the glue holding everyone together -- she spends a lot of time being the mom friend and putting others first. auriga is the one she goes home to -- in the sort of "main" au auriga is an empath who is troubled by the conflicts of the others (naivix ends up burning down the library where huntte works after a troubling event involving siuoll questioning their friendship in public (for additional context, in the frame of reference that troll romance gives, naivix is sort of kind of cheating on siuoll with cody in a friendship way). siuoll being jealous of cody leaves cody adrift in it all, he has no place to stay because he lives with naivix so he turns to auriga and alexia and eventually yvonne (who is roommates with maynrd). auriga is unable to stand his worry and grief surrounding where he stands with naivix. long story short, that was a long story and thats the very very short version)

continuing down the list, fedexx is troubled and tad is caught up in it. thats the only way im going to put it because thats an even bigger can of worms. fedexx is a sort of semi-friend to them all. tad is their latest conquest who gets a bit too mixed up in fedexxs shit, proving that tad is in fact the unluckiest bastard to ever exist by catching feelings for the guy. yikes. anyway.

falvyn and the green lady are assholes inspired by characters played by a batshit lady on a roleplaying server. falvyn hit on naivix and is, as such, portrayed as a creepy ex who preyed on naivix when he was too young to really understand what he was getting into. the green lady is either portrayed as his mother or as the omnipotent being she was originally cast as. yes. the lady who stands and watches cody for an extended period of time, calmly breaking down his worldview and providing incentive for codys once baseless paranoia. ah yes, exactly the way to handle an anxious, abused kid who learned everything he knows from his jackass dad. in one particularly spicy au, codys dad and the green lady are together, making flynn codys stepbrother. i could overexplain that one anytime -- the plot and character dynamics are amazing in my opinion. creme de la creme

i dont blame you if you didnt read this all the way through! ik its a lot & some of its dumb af but these characters hold a special place in my heart and they often feel like friends to me. several of them were the catalysts for some of my strongest relationships. i still act out these characters lives on a daily basis, they are growing with me as people. many of them started as two dimensional characters who gained a life of their own. they litter my sketchbooks, most of my writing is about them, they are the subject of so much of my conversations. they saw us in and out of some of the worst bits of our lives. hell, i even have a fucking naivix sticker on my computer that my boyfriend made for me.

ok. this will be my definitive thread on 4w3. that i will type on my phone. i think the first thing abt type 4s is that theyre characterized by a profound sense of longing / loss, that there is something always just out of reach that they will never have

I believe it starts from childhood, where a person begins to see or feel that they are separate / different from others? both uniquely gifted and uniquely flawed, that a special insight has been given to them but it also separates them from everyone else ... or sometimes it's a unique wound that gives them an understanding of suffering different from others, that others cannot understand, that you yourself are somehow broken or flawed. tho we tend to conceptualize it as uniqueness, sometimes even tow it around like we're special/elite like, am i not more beautiful for my pain? is this not something special?

we want to be understood but not TOO easily bc that would remove the unique status of our suffering. but rly its a defense mechanism for being unable to cope w the idea we're beyond saving like we were born w something missing and nothing in the world can fix it bc what we want either cannot be named or achieved in a mortal life. tho the Thing rly varies btwn individuals.

for me it was difficult to pin down, but i think i wanted to preserve feelings id cling to? ive always been attracted to the nostalgic sadness of childhood, and the idea of immortalizing feelings of peace/happiness, bc to me those things have beauty elevated above that of normalcy. i also love abandoned things bc they contain memories i will never truly know

and the thing that rly separates a 4 from the rest is this romanticism, a kind of need for authenticity and truth thru their entire being. we hate being fake, we hate lying about our identity, we hold onto our pain bc we believe it defines us and it gives shape to who we are. we relate to others thru our own pain and experiences, and bc we are so attuned to our own emotions ppl say 4s are gifted at putting feelings to words and expressing the nuances of emotion.

i think the wide range of what we feel also leads to us being drawn to unique things like, many things feel emotionally shallow to us and we cannot relate to it, but things that express emotions we dont see often being extremely exciting bc we feel seen, like someone can connect w us in a way we consider important

i think 4s can tend to come off as like, edgy and brooding bc of these traits but 4s can pick any number of things to reinforce their identity with. when we find something that connects to us, we SINK INTO IT with fuckin claws and dont let go. we claim that thing as ours and try to create an identity using all the things we've claimed. lots of 4s i know relate to demon imagery bc of this, bc it links to that intrinsic feeling of being broken/wrong and so its easy to be like "oh i must be a demon/monster bc im Wrong" plus it's also a separation from the traditional idea of "good" and it vibes with the whole "misunderstood/apart from others" feeling. we are looking for emotions people are uncomfortable with, claiming them, and desiring the brave to look at us and say they accept us

anyway what it REALLY is is that 4s are sensitive babies who want to be loved and accepted unconditionally despite how broken they feel. it isnt nearly as deep as they may think

but i personally dont think thats the path of actualization/integration, at least in my experience i think for me, i realized that sense of beauty/whatever tf i was looking for isnt to be found in grand sweeping statements abt life or love, or in some pinnacle of art i can never attain, but in every day simple interactions and regular ass people. may be different for others

NOW. To discuss the 3 wing. 3s are characterized by the worth they put out into the world, in the form of tangible accomplishments and experiences. im not a 3 so i cant speak with accuracy or length, but the 3 will base their worth on the judgement of social standards so you see them trying to gain monetary, academic, occupational success bc those are deemed worthy in the eyes of society. this can change depending on the society ofc but under ~late stage capitalism~ this is where we are.

so where does a 4 fall into this. i said before the 4 hates faking, so the methodology of some 3s to meld themselves to be the most successful in their environment just doest NOT fucking vibe w the 4. so the 4w3 is kind of a fucky walking contradiction bc we crave uniqueness but also admiration. we dont want to lie abt who we are but we also want people to KNOW and appreciate us. so this manifests in a desire to share our feelings and experiences with an audience, usually within a medium that allows creative expression but it can be anything.

point is, we want to share. for me, i do it thru creative stuff but moreso just... by talking to people and being emotionally honest and open about what makes me tick, what makes me passionate, trauma, etc, and people respond to that positively like, this is my pain, look at this beautiful thing that came out of it.

whereas i believe 4w5s are content with keeping things to themselves. 4w3s will shift their image to some degree to fit the context but 4w5s are v much, this is me, take it or leave it bitch. anyway the contrast btwn 4 and 3 wing fucks me up bc being a 4 is already a cosmic joke but its even more hilarious when u put in that wing this is all just conjecture based on my own experience of being 4w3 BUT I HOPE ITS INTERESTING

he likes to joke that his only skill is cooking pizza rolls to absolute perfection. everyone knows that is a LIE but its funny so.

nathaniel (16)

dancer, rapper, speaks basic spanish, ‘02 line

mischief twin with mattie (though nathaniel’s a little eviler, and less hyper) the other members can’t leave them alone for a minute (like that 1 scene in community where the guy goes to get the pizza and a minute later the apartment is on fire) -- yeah.

calls the CEO “mom” jokingly until he slips up and means it

dropped out of school but getting his GED slowly. takes online classes and jack +suhyun help him

the first to volunteer for brightly colored hair (he gets the bright blue that vav’s ace had in dance with me)

suhyun (18)

vocal, composer, can play piano and guitar, born in 2000

soft, sweet and polite boy. well liked by everyone

he gives off the impression of being shy and quiet but he’s really not. he just waits for the right moment to roast someone. its not that he’s shy he just. really doesnt have much to say. when he does, though, everyone listens to him. more often than not its a quip at another member

speaks english pretty well, almost fluent

literal aegyo king. he looks so soft and sweet he’s already cute, but when he does puppy eyes and asks jaeyong/the CEO for something they immediately give in to him. he uses it for bad & selfish reasons, and refuses to do it on command (like on shows)

self proclaimed fashionista, gets irritated with the members when they purposely dress bad

the second to volunteer for colored hair (gets a dark red/burgundy)

haeyoung (19)

power vocal, dancer, 2nd leader, born in 1999

helps jack with choreographing

drama queen (part 2) always tries to one up mattie

even despite the rivalry to be dramatic, he LOVES mattie. he loves all the younger members, which is why he’s elected as 2nd leader -- to be an advocate for the younger members who sometimes perhaps don’t have the courage to complain to the hyungs

he loves dogs but animals don’t seem to like him.

one day he gets fed up with being ignored by daisy and dramatically falls to the ground in the practice room floor and whines about daisy hating him. one of the members kick him to get up but he refuses. daisy slowly comes over, as if sensing his distress, and licks him on his face.

to this DAY he maintains that he did not cry, the members are all slandering him! from then on, though, daisy sleeps on haeyoung’s bottom bunk bed with him

he’s recently got his driver’s license but no one likes to be in the car with him. he’s literally a mess and no ones sure how he got the license

he followed the hair color trend: a light, cotton candy pink color

he LOVES SPARKLES!!!! always asks for sparkles in his makeup. his aegyo skill is second only to suhyun. haeyoung always just. GOES for it. he’s less pleading and more cutesy high voice pitch. half the members cringe, and half of them love it. the one who seems to enjoy it the most though is jaeyong, surprisingly.

minchan (20)

vocal, dancer, and visual, ‘98 line

dumb and dumber with wooyoung. (minchan is the dumber) literally never knows what’s going on. tends to get lost, and if wooyoung is there, wooyoung’s lost too. jaeyong finds them and drags them back by their collars

though he’s mainly a vocal, he’s a wonderful dancer, too. he’s got (some) background in ballet, which makes his dancing perfect for this group

an amazing artist and incredibly creative. he designs their album designs and helps with photography. he’s also incredible at makeup and loves to do members’ makeup. sometimes he teams up with suhyun to give a full makeover to one of the members -- makeup, hair, outfit, etc. their victim is usually haeyoung or jack.

a dog person, came up with daisy’s name

he’s got light brown hair, and he makes sure to make it fluffy every day

he prides himself on learning certain niche skills. he’s first aid and cpr certified. he can also knit! he’s also the best cook in the dorm (not the only one, but certainly the best)

wooyoung (20)

dancer, rapper, knows basic english, ‘98 line

loves dogs & is best friends with minchan. he’s the dumb portion of the dumb & dumber duo, even though both of them really aren’t idiots

HIMBO!!! like he is kind of dumb (in a good way at least) and he’s the one who posts the most selfies. he enjoys stripping and ripping off his shirt

he likes to edit videos, and learns how to compose from suhyun. he’s the one members go to if they’re having tech issues.

somehow, he is a technology nerd but also a gym rat?? he’s THAT GUY who takes gym selfies and meanwhile jaeyong’s in the background with his shirt off lmao

he’s the actor of the group. if there’s an offer to be in a drama or whatever he’d be the first to be picked

also has background in dance! more street style though, like pop/locking or bboying. when he and minchan work together their dancing is beautiful. almost like art in its own form

BJ -- aka: RBF (21)

stable vocal, dancer, face of the group, ‘97 line

doesn’t like to be touched

dramatic, but not drama queen type. more like draping himself over pieces of furniture in silk outfits while there’s candles barely lighting the old room

has black hair that needs a trim, always wearing black clothes, bracelets, etc. (like the cliche emo in middle school in 2009)

what a fucking MESS! he’s always cheating during games and refusing to move/work out more than strictly necessary.

his stage name is literally BJ (their CEO thought it was funny, and he was always like ??? until jack told him what that means in English LOL and he’s SO SCANDALZIED! he’s that member who does a solo interview while the rest are off fuckin’ around. he does an entire vlive for this one rant. hes like, hey guys. now i know why you all laughed when i was introduced. jack told me what bj means in english! so im gonna change my stage name. i like the idea of letters. what do you guys think of rbf?’

he seems aloof but he actually has a lot of emotions. he tends to rant about anything, and jack’s the only one who rly listens to him.

he’s closest with suhyun, bc hes the only member who seems to understand him more than at a surface level. basically they’re a yin/yang type of friends

is very happy with his appearance. he likes being that dancer with swaying hips and lifting his shirt up. sexy dance!

jack (21)

rapper, fluent in english, choreographer, ‘97 line

closest with jaeyong (they were together at a different company before)

quiet, responsible, and well liked

makes sure all members are heard and understood. he also teaches them english (especially mattie)

basically: hes the long suffering mother type and lives in the bedroom with mattie and nathaniel to watch over the mischief twins

probably the most intelligent but doesnt act like it. kind of a nerd and wears glasses, but he’s ... well built. looks good. hes basically the “hot nerd” with flannel and beanies cliche

he’s got experience in the industry and leads the rest of the group with that knowledge. he debuted briefly at the previous company but disbanded early. he left the company with jack and now they’re in the new one.

main driver!! he drives all the members everywhere and its an ongoing joke that hes a chauffeur. however he’s got... a little bit of road rage lmao

GYM RAT! he’s jacked!!! he rarely shows his abs though, preferring to tease fans lmao however wooyoung keeps taking pics of him when he’s shirtless in the gym (both on purpose and on accident)

he’s also a bit cliche. if jack was long suffering mom(TM) then he’s the slightly detached but well meaning father(TM) ! not afraid to call out his members, but listens with an open mind. he’s a great mediator if there’s any issues within the group

though jaeyong is the leader, jack tends to be the one herding all the kids and making sure they eat. jaeyong is more about pep talks and being strong, giving great speeches, etc.

even though he seems like he’d be rough around the edges, he’s incredibly loving. in multiple ways. he teases, he rough houses, LOVES hugging the members until they cant breathe. he’s... also very susceptible to aegyo. like he cant help but be swayed. he will never admit it but haeyoung and suhyun’s aeygo make his heart race

and you two are smiling at eachother until you ask him to have lunch with you so now you're both walking off while holding hands happily

Alright I said I was going to make another Giran post, and here it is!!! Again I’m still getting to know him so I don’t have cold hard facts or anything but I have what I’ve inferred and what I’ve came up for myself and just overall how I feel about this god damn evil bastard.

First off, I know I’ve addressed this already but I get he’s like,,,,, unnattractive and shit. I get he’s not the best looking and upon first being introduced some would say some coarse words about him. And that’s fine, he’s an acquired taste of asshole.

But for some reason that’s what draws me more to him?? Like he’s not my traditional pretty boi type, he’s a lot more like older and got a different vibe and I fucking dig that a lot (ash wtf)

I get that I’m a fucking magnet for what seems like characters that smoke, like I didn’t realize I had a lot of faves that smoke until I looked into it and remembered I fucking do. Today has been up and down

Up and down up and down. It hasn't stopped. Not since morning...all i wanted was for you to have the best birthday.for you to be happy on your birthday. I wished and I manifested. And I'm so so happy to hear have had the the happy birthday you deserve.

Aw you looked so cute today...your birthday sash that was completely adorable on you and odlysuited you really well...i thought you looked so so good in it...every day I look at you.

I take a moment (it many) to take in your beauty. I'm always shocked at how much of an immense amount of beauty you posses...its like every day your beauty gets more and more ethereal...

But yes the highlight of my day personally was that moment.when you came over to me excited and in a lil clumsy shy tizz, and I told you happy birthday and you said it back to me. That was one of the most cute things I've ever seen you do irl...i wanna hear you do it again....

The rest of that lesson, which was English went by.

I got the plesure of being able to look at my birthday boy being happy out of the corner of my eye while trying to write something down about lady macbeth or whatever.but ngl I was definitely more focused on you.

English is that lesson of the day where I can look at your side profile for 50 minutes streight. And I love your side profile just watching you talk to someone or look at the bird or my personal favourite thing to watch is you running your hands through your hair, and from the side I get the best veiw.

I swear most of what I do in English is watch you like your something very very interesting on the TV lol.

But your side profile...its like a ethereal painting of an angel...so beautiful...and also kinds hot at the same time...

I between these thoughts I was doing the actual work that needed doing, and turning round to cheak the clock despite having a watch on.

The main event in physics was when you walked to the front of the class, allowing my eyes to take in your whole immage. I basically held by breath and just focused on you till I started subconsciously fiddling with my stapler again and gazing at you, basically drooling under my mask and then...

I stapled my mf finger. Your mf beautiful self made me staple my finger. It diddnt really hurt, until it started pissing out blood. I put a plaster on it and it was fine, but it shows how much of a klutz I am, and also how much of a sucker for you I also am...

Then it was breaktime. I gave you your present, and told you not to open it in front of me. Ngl it was a selfish asf thing to say...i was really self conscious...beacuse I knew everyone had got you great presents, especially after you told me that naci had made such an effort for you...

It was probably down to the 3 hours of sleep I'd been getting for the last week each night, and the fact I'd been on the edge. But I feel really bad for saying that... I should have just lrt you open them...

Ngl I wish I'd have been able to see you put on a smile when you opened it. Put on the bracelet I made for you...too late now, but ig this will be a lesson to future me...

I mean im usually pretty sensitive about stuff like that. When your too close to someone when you know I'm around, watching or could see it. I try and egnore it with you and Sam. I don't like being angry and sensitive, especially not to you.

But sometimes it feels like I need to set some boundaries. Cuz you clearly dont see that there are boundaries of getting a lil too close to someone in the full view of your jelous asf possessive gf!!

Despite her not saying a word about it ever to you, trying to hint it to you, hoping you'd look back on these times and realise how they make me feel you haven't stopped. Ngl it doesn't bother me in the long term at all. I've got used to it. I got used to it with Sam pretty quick. But I always feel a lil uneasy when your too close for comfort or too flirty with someone else where I can see it even if it is just for a joke.

It makes me more uncomfortable becuase then it's like wtf are you like behind my back? If you think it's ok to do that in front of me? Everytime I think about I start crying ngl tears and all. I like to think I'm special to you and get special treatment I have no idea tho.

I sat by jake. We diddnt really talk there was no need neither us us wanted a conversation I just felt comfortable cuz I knew I wasn't comoleatly alone. Jake was there so I spent lunch manifesting you a happy birthday. Obsessing over you and getting jelous. Being pulled into short depressive random states

Thinking about you. Listening to a capella ariana grande until I felt selfish enough to crawl back into people territory, to get some attention. I wasn't quite on jakes level yet I still needed some degree of people. I pushed down all my negative emotions and watched you lie on the grass for a few minutes, before you went, left me and I cried, becuase my self worth had randomly dropped, and I was thinking about the whole thing I explained earlier. I put on a smile and no one noticed. It made me feel numb. But then I saw how much fun you were having and was happy for the rest of the day, had an emotional high during French cuz I knew you were happy and that's all that mattered.

It was end of the day and time to get on the bus. One of the busses had crashed into my grandads car, the embarrasment of the family (according to my mum) and everyone was talking abt it lol.

I talked to a year 9 who knew kally and ened up giving me a hot spot so I could text you. I heard you liked what I'd got you so I ended on a possitive note.

I did two hours studding with my mum and did an orp with you. I was a lil off then tho I'm so sorry. I'm selfish. So selfish. But I gotta tell you how I feel. I can't hold it in anymore. What I've explained here is the only thing I'll shit talk you for

I realized a while ago that I have a lot of nicknames for my biases / wreckers, and depending on situations I call them different things so I thought I’d list them all for fun. Read if you wanna or not, I just thought this would be funny to maybe later compare with people who bias the same idols.

BTS:

Hoseok (bias):

Hope / Hobi / Hoseok - To be honest, I can call Hobi three different things in the same sentence without blinking an eye. These three are the most I use. It also depends though on who I am talking too. If I’m talking to someone who knows his name, but isn’t into BTS / kpop, I’ll generally say jhope / hope and just use that so they know. If it someone who knows bts well though and is into kpop, i’ll use all three sporadically.

Jay - I dare you to find a hope stan who doesn’t use this nickname tbh. Generally when he’s being rude and kind of giving off that american vibe? used a lot / is the only name i use while he’s in the states but once he goes back to korea / somewhere else it’s back to hope / hobi.

Sunshine / The Sun - This is pretty self explanatory too. Can only really be used around my kpop friends who know bts well.

Jeong Hoseok - Used when he’s in trouble or is being disrespectful like in those bapsae fancams we were all blessed with. I see you, Hoseok.

Taehyung (wrecker):

Tae - To be honest, this is really the only nickname I have for Tae and it’s the nickname most army use. Sorry about that.

Kim Taehyung - Used when he’s being RUDE which is a LOT of the time to me tbh. He really wrecks me to the point where it’s unbearable sometimes.

EXO:

Minseok (bias):

Minnie - Generally only used if he’s doing something cute, or if I have time to say the whole word before whatever im watching switches to a different member.

Xiu - My most common nickname for him mostly because it’s quick to say and quick to type.

Kim Minseok - Only used when he’s in trouble (by either being really disrespectful or otherwise)

Chanyeol (bias):

Yeol - The easiest / fastest to say / type and so I generally use that when I’m talking about him. Sometimes used in verbal conversation.

Chan - Also very quick and easy to say / type but used less than Yeol.

Puppy - Generally used when he’s being cute or doing aegyo / acting like a big dumb Labrador or something.

Long Legs McGee - I honestly have no idea how this nickname started, but I think it came from just watching so many Chanyeol fancams and noticing how fucking long his legs are (plus I’m really short so I feel like it’s slight jealousy). Whenever I use this it’s generally accompanied by my friend saying, “You’re so mean to him” but like ... it’s true. Have you seen the man?

Park Chanyeol - Once again, only used when he’s in trouble or being disrespectful. Generally when he’s flexing / poking his tongue out / or being unnecessarily / unexpectedly sexy.

Kyungsoo (bias):

Soo - My most used nickname for him because it’s fast / quick to say / type. Used really no matter what he is doing, whether it’s him being cute or I’m just talking about him. He generally also gets this name when he’s being rude / disrespectful.

Do Kyungsoo - not used a lot at all, only when I’m feeling particularly attacked by something he’s doing. Fun fact, the most I’ve ever used his full name was while watching 100 Day Prince.

Baekyun (wrecker):

Baek / Byun - Most used because they’re quick / easy to type / say. Baek is used marginally more though.

Bunny - Used very rarely and only used when he’s being cute.

Byun Baekhyun - This is used when he’s being rude / disrespectful / sassy / joking around. Tbh I use this a lot because his existence pains me.

NCT127:

Mark (bias):

Mark - I generally just use his name when talking about him. I only have one other friend who is into nct so it’s not like he’d get mixed up with anyone.

Baby / Sweetie / Sweetheart - Because Mark is younger than me I often use these as long as (if I’m with someone) they already know who I’m talking about. I use this a lot when im by myself and cooing over him. However, as he’s getting older, they’re really only being used when he’s being baby.

Sun / The Sunshine - Because he makes me happy.

Lee Minhyung - Used when he’s being rude / acting above his age. He tests me.

Johnny (wrecker):

Johhny - Yeah, Johnny doesn’t really have any nicknames either. I think it’s because it’s already an american / english name that’s short enough that I don’t have to change anything. Plus I can’t call him john because that’s how i identify another idol from another group (who I don’t bias or stan actually).

Twin Tower - Used when he’s being a tall fuck.

Youngho - Once again used when he’s being rude, but only when he’s being REALLY rude. If it’s when he’s just teasing doyoung, it’s Johnny.

Lucas (bias):

Yukhei / Lucas - Used mostly when I’m talking about him to friends.

Lu / Xuxi - Also used when I’m talking about him, but oddly less than Yukhei / Lucas despite the fact that I love calling him xuxi a lot more than any of his other names.

Puppy - I use this when he’s being big and dumb just like a puppy, or when he’s being cute / using puppy dog eyes.

Twin Tower - Seeing as he’s pt.2 of the twin towers. Used when he’s being a tall fuck.

Wong Yukhei / Xuxi (!) - I use this when he’s being rude / disrespectful / or he’s doing something that causes so much second hand embarrassment I literally cannot handle it.

Win - Generally used because say ‘winwin’ takes way too long and i could just say it once and be understood.

Sweetheart - I really adore Winwin, so I honestly just call him sweetheart whenever it’s just me watching something. Or, I’ll use it when I’m around friends but only if they know who I’m talking about.

Sicheng (!): For when he’s being rude.

Jungwoo (wrecker):

Woo - Mostly because I’m lazy, but also because I think it’s a really fucking cute nickname too have because he often woo(s) me off my feet.

Renjun (bias):

Renjun - I really just call him by his name seeing as I never really got into dream as much as I did the others. But I adore him a lot, and I adore dream.

Haechan (fond):

Hae - Easier to say than Haechan sometimes. Quick and simple. He’s not even really technically a wrecker (as I said before I never really got into dream because I was uncomfortable with the age difference but I adore them all a lot) more like another member I am very fond of.

Sunshine - Pretty self explanatory. I think most people call him this anyway seeing as it’s true.

Wayv:

Ten (bias):

Ten - I don’t really call him another else than this. Apart from maybe ‘Hoe’ but that’s just a term of endearment.

Xiaojun (bias):

Xiao - Mainly just because it’s short and easy to say.

Seventeen:

Woozi (bias):

Jii - I refuse to use Woozi at all in verbal / text conversations and only rly use it when searching him because often ‘Jihoon’ doesn’t work as well. It’s cute / short (like him) and simple and easy to type / say.

Lee Jihoon - Generally used when he’s in trouble. However, it’s quite a mouthful ( ;) ) so i’ll generally just SHOUT ‘Jii !’ when he’s being rude / disrespectful too.

Vernon (bias):

Hansol - I also refuse to use Hansol’s real name at literally any point, even when I’m searching stuff but if it doesn’t work then i’ll use vernon (for like fancam and stuff).

Sol - Used rarely but generally used when i’m just trying to shorten his name. I like how it means sun though because he’s like that to me, the sun :)

Puppy - Because he really is, most of the time, just a dumb puppy. Love him though.

Chwe Hansol (!) - Used when he’s being rude, which is very often to me so if you go through my text / message conversations you’ll see his full name a lot.

S.Coups (bias):

Seungcheol - Not really a nick name, but like the other two I refuse to use his stage name at all costs unless searching for him. Long ( ;) ) so I generally only use it when I have time.

Cheol - A lot more common than using his full name, but I switch between the two a lot without really any reason.

Choi Seungcheol - A mouthful but I will honestly somehow get it out SO fast when he’s being dumb / rude. happens a lot whenever i watch one of their concerts and a rap stage comes on.

DK (wrecker):

Seokmin / Dokyeom- Once again, hate his stage name. Prefer to use his full name even though it’s longer.

Seok / Yeom - I’ll shorten his name to seok if it takes too long to say ‘Seokmin’, or yeom if it takes too long to say ‘Dokyeom’.

Minghao (fond): Minghao was my first second bias (jihoon was my first who stayed my first) but I’m forever fond of him and i adore him.

Hao - Generally just a lot easier to say than Minghao ‘cause it’s faster / easier to say / type. I’ll use it no matter the situation, whether he’s being normal / cute / rude it’s always just ‘Hao’.

Got7:

Jaebum (bias):

Jaebum - To be honest, sometimes I just prefer to use his name over nicknames. It’s not that long / hard to say and I can get it out reasonably fast.

JB / Bum - ‘JB’ used when I can’t be bothered saying his whole name. ‘Bum’ when he’s being a little shit.

Lim Jaebum - I use this when he’s in trouble / being rude / being disrespectful. tbh out of all of my biases I saw his full name a lot because he just riles me up in ways i can’t explain. one time i was watching stages of him with a friend and he did something and i went and yelled at him / about him for a good ten minutes.

Mark (wrecker):

Mark - Once again, I really just use Mark’s name when talking about him, no matter what he’s doing. sometimes it does get confusing for other though if i just start talking about him, seeing as I bias another mark.

Bumble Bee - When I’m feeling overly amorous and want to use a cute name for him. I don’t know when it started, or why, but I definitely feel like it has something to do with the fact that his name sounds like ‘honey’.

Jooheon - For when he’s being rude / disrespectful. Oddly happens a lot.

Changkyun (wrecker):

Kyun - This is the only nickname I have for him and it’s just because it’s quicker / easier to say / type.

IM Changkyun - For when he’s being rude / disrespectful. this is up there with the names I say a lot because he is often being rude.

Wons(h)ik - I really have a thing against using stage names. so, although it’s longer, this is what I will call him.

Bumper Bar - Started because of his ass. Only really used sometimes.

Jae / Whan - I’ll use either quite commonly. I really don’t like the name ‘ken’ because of reasons, so I’ll do most things to ignore it / call him otherwise.

Hello!!! Nice to meet you! I always love talking to other feedists omfg. I’m so glad you came to me to ask this question! I’m also so, so, so sorry because… I can’t do brevity. At all.

First of all thank you for that warning about Hoppe Ni Himawari because I was pumped to read it but if he loses all the weight like… not sure I want to haha

Anyway, there is VERY little media out there that explicitly involves feedism, unfortunately, and what is out there tends to be either have a vibe of “feedists are evil” or “feedists so weird haha im fascinated by these freaks.” Like Homestuck has an explicitly feeder character, but he’s also a villain, a huge misogynist, and his interest in feedism is the butt of a joke, re: “wow this guy is weird.”

But!!! There’s a movie called City Island that actually handles feedism in a somewhat sensitive way! It’s about a family who all keep secrets from each other, and the son’s secret is that he’s a feeder. It’s not the greatest movie in the world, but like ? there’s a canon feedee and a canon feeder in it? amazing???

My favorite example of fat representation/feedist representation is the reason for my URL. In the vide game Super Danganronpa 2, there’s a fat character who explicitly says he gained all of his weight on purpose, adores food, and is as close to a canon feedee as I’ve seen in most media. Some other characters occasionally make fun of his weight, but he’s a really well-rounded (pun not intended) character that has a super interesting backstory/story arc that has nothing to do with his size, especially in the follow-up anime Danganronpa 3. I love him so much because I feel like there’s sometimes a dichotomy these days where fat characters either get depicted as “lmao fat slob look how much he eats that’s all there is to him” or “this character is fat but they don’t care about food at all!!!! look, they’re a good fatty!!!!!” And ideally what I want are fat characters who are allowed to love food and also have a rich other life, because, dammit, there is nothing wrong with loving food. Twogami is a wonderful, perfect character and I recommend him so highly. The only problem is that to understand SDR2 you really do have to play the original Danganronpa game, so even though I really do recommend that game too, it’s… a big time commitment lmao.

As for things that have more… feedist subtext? I don’t know if you’ve seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but it’s difficult for me to imagine a reading of Jacob and Queenie that wasn’t feedist. There’s literally like one fat joke about Jacob in the whole movie, and he’s just a wonderful chaarcter in general. Also, Steven Universe, of course, has wonderful body diversity. On the topic of Cartoon Network shows, We Bare Bears is about… bears lmao but they’re very round and love food so much? It’s just such a fun, food-positive show? It makes me so happy. also, Bob’s Burgers has a ton of fat characters and is usually very food-positive. Most of the main characters are at least a little chubby, but even though I would never say it’s an overall fatphobic show, they do make a fair amount of fat jokes, so be warned.

sorry for this long as shit as list, but idk if you’ve seen any of the movies in the Cornetto Trilogy? but The World’s End is my favorite movie, and one of the two main characters is played by Nick Frost, who is…. such a beautiful, large man. He loves food and it comes up a fair amount, but his real storyline is something entirely different and he’s such a good character. also, for something completely different, the TV show Fargo (not the movie) stars a fat woman in season 1 and a fat man in season 2, and their weight is barely ever brought up? It’s last on this list because Fargo isn’t very feedist, but it’s a very well-done crime thriller show with some great chubby characters.

also, idk if you’ve seen Hairspray, but that’s sort of a fat positivity classic (although I prefer the musical to the movie). Nikki Blonsky from that movie starred in a show called Huge about a fat camp, which I would recommend watching if all you want is media with fat characters, because it like… blew my mind every single episode that there was a whole cast of fat actors, and they were all characters who were interesting and taken seriously, and the show wasn’t trying to make fat jokes but instead humanize fat people and show that we need to be treated with respect. The ending was SUPER disappointing though, like basically it demonizes the one body positive character and makes her end up unhappy and alone, and pushes this stupid idea that all fat people are fat bc they stress eat to deal with their shitty lives. It’s very much a “fat people are worthy of respect if they’re good fatties and trying to lose the weight” narrative bUT I put it here bc it’s just amazing to watch a show with a mostly fat cast (and im gonna be 100% honest it’s like……. such eye candy oh my god? like do normal people have this experience when they watch hollywood shows where everyone is hot? everyone is so hot in this show?????).

I want to recommend you some books, but I… don’t read I’m literally the worst writer ever. Taft 2012 is a fucking hilarious book about US president Taft just appearing in the president in the most random-ass way and it’s feedist as shit but there are a ton of fat jokes. Tbh most feedist books I know are really fatphobic….. The book/musical Matilda has a child who eats a whole cake and is a hero for it???? Good times.

I feel like there are def other books I know with fat characters but I cannot think of them at the moment and anyway you probably already died while reading this list bc it’s so long so… enjoy, friend. Run free and find feedist media, and tell me if you find anything good.
