being a white afab nonbinary can be difficult, occasionally.

not in the way that i am invalidating enbys who are also part of other minorities, but as in i'm now being labelled a "fake" enby because of the pushback against their terrible lack of representation. just because i'm white and afab.

i find it atrocious that such little human, nonwhite, non-androgynous or fem enby rep exist still.

however, whoever has decided that injustice is solved by redirecting the injustice towards the majority is so sorely mistaken.

i should not have to "prove" my gender just because i was born female and white. they are mutually exclusive. poc, amab enbies should be lifted, and that is the whole of it.

i might get hate but i am not looking for sympathy. i just find it ridiculous how people have decided to address this problem.

one thing that really gets under my skin is how allistics Love to pretend that if we just said things the Correct Way™ (whatever that means, since none of them are willing to explain it to me) then maybe our lives wouldnt be so hard & if we could just learn how to communicate Properly all our problems would be solved. so millions of autistic kids took to studying the dictionary, paying attention in english class, learning definitions and nuances, connotations, cultural contexts, implications, the ways the order of the words affects the meaning of the sentence, deciphering which adjective works Best in this context, figuring out which word should be emphasized over the others in the sentence (if any at all!), and doing that before every single sentence we say. and its still wrong. because it turns out, the "implications" they were talking about has nothing to do with the order i said my words or the exact definitions of the words, its a mysterious other problem that they wont tell me because i should just Know why whatever they think i said was mean.

and this is just what happens when we're actually able & willing to do these things, a lot of autistic people either dont care to put in all that effort or genuinely can't do it for one reason or another. but it doesnt matter, there's actually no way to be autistic without allistics misunderstanding you constantly and making it out to be our fault that they refuse to put any work into understanding us. its not fair the amount of effort i have to put in to Try and understand what the fuck allistics are on about half the time but they cant be bothered to do the same for us

i love autism and i would never choose to not be autistic given the chance but it's really fucking shitty sometimes

I hope you answer this. I have been part of the editing community on Instagram and twitter and I understand how it feels not getting credit for your work. You're right it requires effort to find clips, loop them and edit them with effects and texts. But the easier solution is to go for a watermark no one on that list ever claimed they were the one making the gifs and some private accounts and some people who do give credits are also added. It's just impossible to control the sharing of content if it's publicly uploaded once and sometimes people save it for later and don't remember the @ it doesn't mean they are intentionally stealing work.

Hi! I think that you are not getting what me and others are upset about. First things first, that list is old, it's like from mid 2023 or something, i dont know why it made a resurgence now and even if i dont quite agree with it, i dont think it was meant as a way of "look this are the criminals, death to them" and more of a "look your gifs may be in these twitter accounts, maybe u would like to reach out". I do think people can do better and learn.

I get that twitter as whole is difficult to find sources, specially if u find the gif in the automated search part, and even more if the OG poster of said gif didnt credit shit. And that's a problem that could be solved if u do give credit from the start. The excuse of "oh i don't remember where this is from" does not sit right with me bc then dont post it, look for it and if you dont find it dont post it. Bc we shouldn't have to watermark our gifs, and even then it would be really good if u could also link it. It is not difficult at all!

Ignoring all that I know it is difficult to control the sharing without credit specially when there are SO many social media apps! What bothers me (us) is that instead of saying "i will try to do better" or "oh i didn't realize people cared ab credit" f1twt goes and says "oh they are exaggerating" "oh this doesnt take any time" "oh no the tumblr hags" and it isn't kind, it isn't respectful, and isn't pretty. You are belittling work done by other people. Not to come off as rude sorry if this does just want to explain my understanding of the situation. I think the whole post is stating that hes not homophobic just that. Words and actions hurt regardless if he's gay or not and it's incredibly jarring to hear him make light of it and have no one seemingly push back on it. I mean, I understand that the long anon wants to trust Q and the QSMP, because I truly think that we ALL want it to get better.

But I think our vision for "making things right" is just different.

Anon seems mostly focused on the people who are still in the project and how they're changing it for the better (i assume, for future employees) , while we tend to focus on the people who were kicked out and were never contacted again.

Us pointing out that the ex admins have been ghosted for 2 months is not "detail chasing" or "talking about past mistreatment" It's literally ongoing. And it is still mistreatment.

Maybe not everyone sees it that way, I guess. I'm sure some people think they're being impatient, or they don't deserve to be talked to because they're not in the project anymore, or even consider the ex employees newfound "fame" to be at their advantage, somehow. But even so, it doesn't change the fact that none of the whistle-blowers have seen any steps taken to compensate them, or even hear them, for the months of free labor and abuse. At least, as of now.

After all, the only promise Quackity made is that he'll make things right for the people working in Qstudio in the future. So far, he said nothing about the ex employees except vagueposting about "people who want to destroy the project".

We're allowed to be skeptic and even critical about how this is all handled. And we're allowed to express said skepticism online, where we can interact with others about it. Just like anon is allowed to express their support and trust in QStudio.

The problem comes, as usual, from parasocials of all extremes sending hate to everyone involved. And I do agree that this whole thing being public is mostly to blame for that.

I do think it's too bad that it didn't happen privately, but now, it's out, and the silver lining is that it allowed other ex employees to make their mistreatment heard without feeling like they're insane for it. After all, it's been months, and only now do we hear anything. It shows that the mental pressure to "dont talk to any of your colleagues and lay low or else" really stopped people from facing their abuse with the gravity it deserved.

And honestly, seeing how they're handling it rn, I doubt that Qstudio would have taken the right steps if it had been done 100% privately.

Like, maybe we're missing some legal context here, but why did Qstudio not explicitly ask for the ex-employees' testimonies yet? Even now, with a literal union repeatedly advising them to do so, they're not doing it.

They could make a separate email adress, share it privately to all ex employees and let them send their testimonies there. They dont have to acknowledge everything immediately. They dont have to say "we will solve this in one week". But ghosting such a large chunk of the people who made your project work and only allowing them to either completely shut up or go public is... a choice. So yeah, maybe going public was necessary for them to be heard. Idk. I'm just hoping things will get better soon on that front.

truly the fic also raises the question 'how would you handle it when decades-old friendships that have become your only existing family are put in jeopardy' but one thing is... it's fic... there's the suspense of disbelief + the fact that regulus is from an entirely different world. like. you really don't have to take tt that seriously but if u rly want to know:

the point is that it's not really a 'what would you do' situation because comparing your upbringing to regulus' is (nearly) impossible. unless u grew up in his specific breed of insanity household and dealt with the complex family dynamics and harsh environments he faced, it's hard to truly understand his perspective. regulus experienced things and made decisions that most people never encounter, which shaped his moral compass and that of his close friends in unique, although 'regressive' ways. their expressions of love and affection are/were deeply intertwined with concerns about life and death, prioritizing survival and the well-being of one another at all costs. even though they eventually escaped their harsh life, the lingering effects still impact their lives profoundly.

it's almost impossible to apply our typical rational thinking or ethical solutions to a situation like regulus', especially when his upbringing often required drastic actions for damage control or as preventive measures. his (family's) + the slythering skittles' circumstances were so extreme that they demanded a different approach to decision-making and problem-solving than what we might consider normal.

regulus killed barty's dad. andromeda and narcissa arranged bella's journey to france and locked her up in the manor. the rosier twins orchestrated the deaths of their parents.

to reiterate: this issue is not merely about justifying the actions of everyone who deceived reg. it also involves recognizing that from childhood, an environment was fostered where resorting to drastic measures was normalized in a sense. such behaviors were not only condoned but encouraged in extreme circumstances, as evidenced by regulus' actions, like drinking poison and killing barty's dad without prior knowledge. this highlights the troubling notion that committing severe acts can be excusable if believed to protect each other's well-being. that's the entire problem. everything in this story has unfolded from this shared trait: elaborate acts of sacrifice and savior complexes and being so traumatized that your brain is wired to do the ultimate in order to prevent more loss.

what everyone did was shitty. it was. but it's important to see why it happened and how it can be remedied, especially considering that no one has ever done something to break regulus' trust before, but regulus has done tons to break theirs. and again, maybe they could have acted accordingly when regulus' suicidal tendencies resurfaced, but they have never known better or tried to.

As far as I can tell, Titles aren’t universally suited to their bearers - but neither are they universally unsuited. Kanaya’s having trouble settling into her role as the team’s Sylph - but Terezi’s a born Seer of Mind, and was acting as such, long before the session began. 

Kanaya calls the Titles challenging, but you can be challenged by a role you’re perfectly suited to. Rose’s inquisitive personality makes her a good fit for a Seer, but ‘seeing’ what went wrong with her session is still a huge, ongoing challenge for her.

Karkat isn’t performing anger, here. He’s genuinely angry at his situation, but he’s not making it Kanaya’s problem - which I think says a lot about the strength of their friendship. 

As a result, I think this is most authentic Karkat has ever been. He’s still grumpy in this conversation, because that’s just his nature, but he’s also thoughtful, introspective and empathetic. Alternia probably doesn’t value these traits, so he’s not really encouraged to display them, unless he’s giving quadrant advice - or unless the troll he’s talking to is as weird as he is. 

Kanaya isn’t above a little trolling - she can certainly return fire - but she doesn’t antagonize people just for kicks. Karkat, recognizing a kindred spirit, affords her the same rare courtesy.

I feel like some of the people posting these vents fail to realize that the moderation team is human too. They should be allowed to make mistakes here and there without people having a whole mental breakdown and swearing up and down they’re not doing anything. While I understand some frustrations, most of it just sounds like pettiness and throwing a pity party. Oh you’re not a guest artist? Boohoo.

Another thing, it makes sense that people who the mods promoted are their friends humans are full of bias !! Whether we choose to admit it or not, we all will always lean towards our companions. Not trying to be a “white knight” or whatever y’all call it, just saying!

i always thought the “mods are human” excuse to be exceptionally lazy because you know who else is human? literally everyone on the planet. i dont think that mods should get extra special good boy points just because they are mods and voluntarily manage this niche community. its also really dismissive of you to say “mistakes here and there” when these arent little tweedle dum “oh no i made the site glitch!” type errors. these are large glaring problems that have gone unaddressed for over 10 months, and when members of the community provide constructive criticism, people like you use the “mods are human” excuse to take away any responsibility from them. yeah, theres work to be done, but thats what you sign up for when you volunteer for your role. if you dont want to do the work purely out of motivation to make things better, then youre not fit to be a mod.

making a small mistake isnt the same as ignoring criticism, neglecting to work on things to actually solve problems, and constantly pumping out adopts despite the fact the species, again, does not have lore or trait sheets written anywhere after almost a year.

also yeah, i know it makes sense for them to pick their friends to be mods, but that also means that the people in charge arent getting any new outsider viewpoints on issues, and it creates an incredibly cliquey and unwelcoming community. i would be a little more forgiving if the new mods they take on would actually do work besides instantly posting their customs in their oh so elite staff commissions channel, but so far there is nothing that proves to me that they dont just use the role to exert some hierarchy over everyone else. “im a mod which means im friends with staff” but not “im a mod because i want to fix the big issues here.” have you seen any of the new mods do anything but make adopts and answer the questions that are too trivial for the other mods?

also, this is a vent blog. if people want to complain that only pop artists get to be GAs how is it hurting you.

its the hatred and lack of understanding of the art of theater from nerds everywhere why the special effects and production in older sci fi properties are devalued and not taken seriously as their own intentional art form... honestly sick of it even being labeled as camp u dont understand camp you dont understand theater your mind is small and u have no love and expect literal representations in all your visual media and probably cant even appreciate musicals... but anyways even people who enjoy like the look of classic doctor who make some types of excuses or are like well i like that it looks shitty booo take this spineless worm from my chamber at once guards i think sometimes implies the way it looks was not intentional and no thought was put behind it flattens the whole thing like there are episodes that look bad with little effort or passion put in behind it or simply being pushed too hard but god something like the brain of morbius that heavily embraces the theatrical style the sisterhood of karns feature emphasizing makeup and large gestural movements it feels straight out of a play we simply do not expect b movie sci fi and horror to be delivered like that.. the style of theater that can create entire worlds with a bare set and a few objects offers limitless possibilities of how to use your space and budget and is just as legitimate of an artform as the expensive sci fi and fantasy movies and the stylistic flexibility it allows you as well as the creative ways u must solve problems on tight budgets and how u can use a sense of something being off of a facsimile of the world to create an eerie setting and the show dabbles in like many styles going from a level of realism when they film on location in modern earth settings to the uncanny and bizarre insane to me also i think people are sometimes so ashamed of like when it starts to look bright and silly like childrens theater or tv like insane the happiness patrol was reviled for YEARS and even lovers of it were like oh well sad it was marred by the silly costumes despite the story intentionally engaging with the conflict between performance and authentic expression and the long tradition of insane camp send ups of truly terrible people to give them not an ounce of dignity or area to view the work as supportive vs the menacing theatricality of greatest show in the galaxy rendering the show as a live theatrical performance but in a creepy and horrible way that towards the end it begins to contemplate its theatrical roots the good and the bad and dissecting it.... so on and such forth alright guards release them

Ians personal phone was ringing... at work. Everyone that they knew from the outside, which was the subtotal of about four people collectively, all knew that ringing them at work was not an option, unless death was on the horizon.

The buzzing was set to only get all the more intense in their pocket the longer it rang for. "Give me.... Three seconds... I've just gotta....." They were typing that last piece of code into Ziggy furiously before hitting the enter key and grabbing for their phone and answering it without even looking

"Someone better be dying." Their dark humor was something only the person on the other end of the phone would get.

"SOS" The persons breathless, pre-hyperventilating voice on the other end said. Oh.

"Give me ten minutes.. Meet me at Give me coffee, kay?" ... The code word they'd both divised for a certain kind of awful day, and the name of the coffee shop just ten minutes from their appartment. Save our soul, and Give me coffee or Give me death.

Having fantastic work colleagues that were also 99% of your friends group as a whole meant that leaving their genius friend Jen in charge of their very own rebooted creation wasn't a worry at all... They also knew she would find a great way to explain to the others why they'd rushed out the door with their coat half on and their bag slung over their shoulder.

"Twelve minutes. Holy shit. Two minutes over the ETA. I'm getting better. It used to be an hour." They laughed as they sat down opposite their partner who already had their hands wrapped around their coffee mug, their eyes puffy and, fuck, yeah, there wasn't much left of that spark they had before leaving on the Friday before New Year.

"I missed spending the new year with someone I love, to spend time with family that don't even respect me enough to..." They trailed off as Ian reached over the table and pealed their hand from that cup to hold in theirs.

Nestling their arm between theirs, they headed in the general direction of.... Nowhere in particular. They took a breath. Their partners silence made them sad, talking was absolutely both their thing.

"All you can do is surround yourself with people that do understand, so those moments you go back and spend time with the ones that don't, you'll eventually have the confidence to polietly correct them. You should come to a quiz night with the team.. Watch us get every square inch of our ass kicked by some sassily named opposition..."

"I know how competeitve you get." They laughed, for the first time that whole week " - but wouldn't it be... Breaching some kinda govenment law for an outsider to be there?"

"You're my plus one. Everyone has one on the team now. It's fashionable to have a partner at home that gets you through the mental and physical torture of losing your best friend to what is, essentially, a time machine. Very en vogue." They smiled brightly over at them and shook their hand, slowing the walk to a stop to turn to face them.

"People like to ignore or judge what they don't understand... Some people come round to the understanding of a blindly new concept that not everyones the same" They rolled their eyes with a chuckle "Some never do. MY TOLKIEN BLACK HEADCANONS because I understand him

A lot of people just chalk him up to be "a smart kid" a la kyle or wendy but dont really define it which bothers me. I think Tolkien is only really smart in say mathematics and biology and is more so an athlete than bookish. Mfer can do advanced algebra just fine but dont ask him too many questions about the civil war he just doesnt care okay.

Speaking of Tolkien has not read or seen anything okay his pop culture consumption is bizarre. He doesn't know what a harry potter is he doesn't know what star wars is and everything he knows about lotr has been against his will. He has lived off of direct to dvd disney sequels and whatever esoteric foreign artsy movie his parents are obsessed with in that week to seem so smart and pretentious. He is frankly a little too scared to ask too so he just plays along for the most part and skates by on whatever he knows second hand.

HE LOVES SPIDERS why dont we talk about how he loves spiders. Which just makes me think he LOVES bugs in general he's that kid that has an illustrated encyclopedia on bugs he reads for fun and if given the chance would go on a tangent on any random species if hes sure you wont make fun of him for it. I just know he has a lil terrarium and he would NEVER squish a bug ever in his life and he would be very upset if you did maybe distrust you even. His friends know to send him a pic of a cool bug if they come across one in the wild he loves that.

I don't think Madea is some exception to Tolkien I think he is just a very easily amused boy okay literally anything and everything makes him laugh. Tyler Perry in a dress? Hilarious. Kick a guy in the balls? Hilarious. Whoopie cushions? Puns? Banana peel? HILARIOUS. Its why he and Jimmy get along so well Tolkien is never a dull audience.

AND ON THAT NOTE i think Tolkien watches bad movies on PURPOSE cuz theyre funny in an ironic way alright he loves watching people genuinely try to make a movie and fail at it so spectacularly. Madea is a guilty pleasure tho no doubt about it.

He had a very obnoxiois karate kid phase. Not the movie I mean like he took karate classes and everyone had to know about it. You know the kind I'm talking about.

To keep it sort of brief i believe Tolkien's more of the one who gets his heart broken than be the heartbreaker. Hes very popular and his relationships are wonderful and passionate but they fizzle out fast - and not even necessarily from his end. Everyone says hes a great boyfriend and he always tries so hard but he's never "the one" and I imagine it eventually makes him a little jaded ngl, learn to take everything more casual and expect it to never really last for long. Which of course then ironically makes it a self made issue. Point is is he's the cool guy you like who never seems to care and is so effortless but deep down he cares a lot actually.

I think after the Faith+1 and Wing incidents Tolkien actually keeps his interest in music on the down low. He only plays the bass in private and skips karaoke night. Its just that the embarrassing memories make him cringe way too hard but he does genuinely love it still. You're gonna have to coax it out of him very gently.

I think he's the type to use social media in like little bursts where he joins in on specific trends and posts daily and then just stops within a week or so and a few months later when he comes back online he's surprised at his decent clout and then repeat. Very basic basic tho like selfies and five month old memes and his random opinion on whatevers relevant that may or may not age very poorly.

I don't like to think of Tolkien as the "mom friend" or whatever but I can definitely see his friend group seeking advice from him cuz hes 1) got the most relationship experience and 2) his parents are the most functional of all the parents in their group so they raised him properly to like, yknow, communicate and problem solve and stuff. A wild concept. Him actively mothering everyone tho? Not so sure about that like hes a rich only child where does he learn to take up that kind of role.

He is not above violence, drugs or alcohol LET HIM HAVE FUN for God's sake. He doesn't really smoke tobacco and he drinks socially but he is a stoner and will experiment with anything if the company's right. And obviously he'll only throw a punch if driven to his limit or in defense but my boy likes to witness some mindless violence at the very least.

Idk how to finish this post so I'll just say that Tolkien did in fact not see Black Panther IN FACT i would go so far as to say he is a comics-only truther even. That is all for now.

yeah...thinking again about how we really dont see a single time mike actually opening up to el about his insecurities, or even el opening up to mike about her inner turmoils (atleast not onscreen or one that didnt turn into a massive fight). we dont see a single serious and consistent heart-to-heart conversation between them that couldve actually solved their issues faster. whether m*levens want to admit it or not, it’s evident in the show that mike hasn’t been feeling comfortable enough to be vulnerable with his feelings around his own girlfriend and he always stumbles around his words and struggles to express himself to her, which is odd if we’re supposed to believe they truly understand and connect with each other. i can’t imagine being that bad at communicating with my significant other who i’m supposed to be close with and feel like i can confide in the most.

but you know who mike does feel the most comfortable with when it comes to expressing himself and being openly vulnerable with? will. all will has to do is to sit beside him reassuringly, and mike has no problem baring his heart and soul to him. it was will who knew the exact words to say to ease his feelings of guilt and worry. it was will who actively reassured him about his insecurities and made him feel loved with his words and with a painting crafted with care and affection, something that had mike catching his breath, smiling widely and looking the happiest he’s ever been all season. never once do we see mike being reassured like this directly by his actual girlfriend. it was will. all will. quite literally the only person who he’s able to be this authentic with too, since he’s 10x more repressive around everyone else.

and people can argue that yeah, mike and el never had the opportunity to sit down and have a serious conversation with each other since they were separated all season and el was off on her own self discovery arc, but that should make you wonder, why did the writers never LET them? they made the active decision of purposefully making mike spend the entire season glued next to will and el far away from him. remember, these are fictional characters, not real people, so you can’t just reason out that “oh el would’ve definitely been the one to reassure mike about his insecurities even without will in the picture she was just preoccupied with the nina project blah blah” because they were purposefully WRITTEN in a way that this never happened, not once. they couldn’t even insert a short conversation between them after el lost against vecna? after mike finally said ily to her, the one thing she has been pleading to hear from him for so long after he denied her a single utterance of the L word? they have one conversation that happens off screen and its not even about their actual relationship, just with the whole deal about brenner and el’s powers (we did get another heart to heart with mike and will though...wonder why 🤨).

at the very least m*levens have to acknowledge the fact that the second love interest had to get involved just to keep their failing relationship from falling apart, and that everytime they have relationship problems that need to be resolved, they’ve never been able to do it by themselves alone, there’s always somebody else in the background prompting one person in the relationship (mostly mike) to talk or make a move. they’re quite literally the only couple written this way too, other couples in the show (but specifically s4 lumax) have had conflicts with each other but they’re able to do it by themselves with proper communication and actually opening up to each other in a serious heart-to-heart conversation. imagine if mike just continued wallowing in his insecurities and never talked to will about his fear of being unneeded by el? imagine if will wasn’t there for him to open up to and nobody was there to convince him that el “still needed him”, since he was already about to resign himself to the fact that actually, el didn’t need him anymore? then nothing would’ve happened. no ily monologue, no nothing.

when a character is strategically separated from his significant other, who he keeps showing a fake side of himself to (“i need to be more normal i cant be my real nerd loser self around her!”) and who he’s been having a major conflict with, and then spends the entire season pouring his heart and soul out to the second love interest, actively seeking comfort and confiding in him the most, and the second love interest simultaneously being able to offer him the exact words of comfort that he wants and needs, they’re building something up between them and trying to show you how compatible and good they are for each other. the sooner people (m*levens) are able to understand this glaringly obvious love triangle pattern, the sooner they’ll be able to accept that maybe mike and will were always meant to end up together 🤷‍♀️

The Yiga Clan read to me as a group of people who, at one point, had legitimate grievances against Hyrule, but over the century of them... Basically winning? Like age of calamity be damned they didn't actually canonically have much of a role in the Calamity, but. The guy they were rooting for won, so that's something. And in the century that passed since their guy won, they came under the control of an underqualified nepo baby and became the banana loving fools we know and love today.

Like everyone always talks about "addressing the problems with Hyrule" in botwtotk and I understand why some folks would prefer a dark and edgy completely serious Yiga Clan that addresses those things, but you know what character actually fucking does something about Hyrules government sucking ass? Zelda. Zelda and Link are our focal characters for addressing Hyrule's bullshit and for some reason that doesn't seem to... Count. Which is weird, because where else is this criticism supposed to come from? She's one of the only people left who fucking remembers it, the central government of Hyrule hasn't existed for a century, not even the Hylians really give a shit about it in game! The Sheikah are chilling in their village, the only other race that regularly interacts with Hylians at all are the Gerudo, and the Gerudo are very much in charge of that interaction since they still have their government. The Zora and the Gorons interact with Hylians so infrequently they often forget basic human anatomy and while the Rito are a bit better in that regard, Revali is our focal point for Rito opinions on Hylians so that's covered.

Like the Yiga Clan dont have a Hylian government to oppose in botw! Why would they stop and talk about how shitty it is? It's gone! It doesn't exist! It hasn't existed for a hundred years! They fucking won! They have their status quo in botw and are fighting to keep that status quo. And in totk they're... Building robots that Ganondorf doesn't want BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY they're specifically on a revenge quest to get Links ass and they're trying to get back into the swing of things with the whole "oh wait our guy might... Lose" thing and now that they're getting serious they're much more formidable opponents! But even then, whe one could argue that they have more of a Hylian government to oppose in totk, a) you'd have to argue that what Zelda is doing is establishing a central government at all and not just managing shipping logistics and supervising archaeological digs between sidequests, b) totk practically drills it into our heads that everyone loves Zelda to the point where Ganondorf has to disguise himself as her to get anything done because Zelda's whole thing is not subjecting anyone else to the bullshit she went through. Like six of the seven major people groups in Hyrule actively support Zelda's "y'all do whatever" style of monarchy, if it can even be called monarchy because let's face it, Zelda is only the princess because her pronouns are "the princess," Dr who style. And finally c) botw and totk both establish that Zelda is fucking chill with tech so aside from the "killing her" part the original fucking issue that caused the Yiga Clan to split off from the Sheikah is solved with Zelda in charge anyway.

I dunno, I think that, while fun and therefore the correct choice, Kohga's inclusion in Age of Calamity cheapened the Yiga in a lot of people's minds because they can't recognize a story choice to ignore basic logic that was made in service of including a fan favorite character in a game where the selling point is you get to play as your favorite characters. Like, like no we see people who were alive during the Calamity and barring Purah's laser induced lolita bullshit they're all old as fuck, I'm sorry but Kohga was not in charge of the Yiga Clan pre-calamity, the ruthless Yiga Clan assassins who almost took out Zelda in that one cutscene are not the same Yiga Clan that we encounter in the actual botw gameplay they are a century removed from the source of their sociopolitical motivations

The Yiga Clan aren't vessels through which to critique the Hylian government, Zelda does that just fine, and I think while it's fun to explore what that would've looked like it distracts from what they actually are.

The Yiga Clan are a death cult that got what they wanted, and I think that's way more interesting.
