The plane left the tarmac almost 7 hours ago, just a few short hours left until it landed in Singapore. The plane’s shifty Wi-Fi allowing you to watch the current race going on in the Singapore streets, your boyfriend maintaining a good speed, and a good position throughout most of the race.

Your stomach dropped immediately when the commentator’s voices picked up, George’s name dropping from their lips as the cameramen panned to his car.

The inner turmoil started the moment you watched the replay of the Mercedes hit the wall during the final lap. You, alongside every other person watching the race, were not expecting such a dramatic end to an even more dramatic race.

It had been an incredible day before this, your own P2 finish still pushing high levels of joy through your body. It had been an exhilarating race, after qualifying in P6 just the day before, you were able to jump up 4 positions, holding everyone off behind you as you maintained your speed and composure to finish the race in your highest finish this season.

You were almost immediately carted off to the airport once all your media responsibilities were completed. You had booked a flight to Singapore that would get you there just a few hours after George’s own race was over, allowing you to surprise him after weeks of being apart.

What you didn’t expect was the internal dread that was currently encompassing your body, unsure of how George would react when you arrived at his hotel door after how his race just ended. He would be happy to see you, regardless, but would he be upset at you for coming after the end of your own successful race? Would he want to be alone? Would you end up having to spend the night in Pierre’s room, leaving George to wallow in his own self-pity?

It was all you could think of as the map showed the flight radar on the screen in front of you, the estimated time of arrival dwindling down the closer you got.

You had texted George the moment you saw his crash.

Are you okay???

That looked bad

I saw the video of you walking away, you looked like you were in pain… I’m so sorry mon amour :(

You drove an amazing race… I’m so proud of you

If you want to talk you know you can call me, I love you :(

He had let you know he was a little sore and would probably be back to the hotel late so he likely wouldn’t be calling you tonight. It’s what prompted you to call Pierre the moment you were off the plane, the phone ringing a few times before he picked up.

“Incredible race! I watched a bit of it before we had to get in our cars, you kicked ass. Jumped up 4 places and everything, let’s goooo,” he trailed off the end with a small ‘woot’ of celebration, his gigantic smile prevalent even through the phone.

“Thanks Pear, but I wasn’t calling about the race. My flight just got into Singapore; do you think someone from your team could come pick me up? Or like anyone? George doesn’t know I’m here… it was supposed to be a nice surprise.”

The sigh was loud through the phone, Pierre agreeing to have someone from Alpine come to the airport.

“You should know… George is devastated. Charles says he was crying his eyes out when he saw him walk by, said it looked like he was super distraught. I don’t know how happy or excited he is going to be about your race today.”

The tears sprouted to your eyes immediately, you had already seen on social media that George may have been seen crying, but to hear it directly from someone who had seen him… the sadness wreaked through your body.

“I don’t care about my own race, right now. I’m happy enough for myself, he needs someone to be there for him.”

It didn’t take long for someone from Alpine to pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. You had bothered one of the men from George’s PR team earlier in the day to text you what room number and hotel he was staying at, promising him it was all for a surprise that wouldn’t cause any issues for George or the team.

Your knuckles rapped against the door in front of you, sounds from inside the room halting the noise encompassed the air. You couldn’t tell if he was coming to the door or not, no noise now coming from the room. Just as you were about to knock again, the door swung open to reveal your boyfriend.

His red-rimmed and puffy eyes were the first thing you noticed, a clear indicator that he had been crying. The small smile that grew on his face was real, a tiny bit of happiness shining in his eyes as he took in who was in front of him.

“Oh, Georgie…”

You dropped your bag to the floor, pushing your body into his. His arms wrapped around your frame, his head pressing into the junction where your neck and shoulder met, your own arms wrapping around his taller frame. You played with the hair at the nape of his neck, holding him as tight as you could, allowing him to push any emotions he was currently feeling into the hug.

“What are you doing here?” He murmured into your ear, his arms tightening around your body as if he was trying to fuse the both of you together.

Shrugging in his arms, you continued to hold his frame tightly in your own. “Thought it would be a nice surprise, was going to fly with you to Japan after and spend some time with you. Haven’t seen you in a while, I guess.”

George pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head before pulling away, a sad smile falling on his lips. “You drove an incredible race today, my love. I’m so proud of you.”

You couldn’t help the pull at your heartstrings as he praised you for your own race, even after the devastating end to his own. It was obvious he was trying to keep the sadness at bay, to not ruin your own accomplishments.

“Thank you, mon amour. I don’t want to talk about my race, though.”

George grabbed your bag as he gestured for you to walk into the room, allowing the hotel door to slam behind you as he placed the luggage next to his own. “I don’t really want to talk about my own race, either. I’d much rather talk about yours.”

He pulled you onto the king-sized bed, immediately wrapping his body around your own as you snuggled into his chest. You could feel his heartbeat against your ear, his fingers rubbing soothing circles on the indent of your spine through your shirt.

“I feel like such an idiot. I’m not a rookie, I shouldn’t be making those kinds of mistakes, I lost complete control of my car at the worst possible time and cost myself one of the best finishes this season. It’s not fair,” he choked the words out, his nose pressing into your hair as he took a deep breath, trying to keep the inevitable tears at bay.

“Georgie… it happens, mistakes happen. It sucks, don’t get me wrong, but we all make mistakes. Do you know how many fuckups I’ve had this season? Don’t get me started on how many Pierre’s had, it doesn’t make you rookie-caliber to mess up one race. You’ll come back stronger from this; I swear.”

You could feel the small shrug of his shoulders as he pulled your body closer to his own, a light press of his lips to the crown of your head the only indication that he heard you.

“I can’t believe you got P2. I was trying to watch it while we were getting ready, someone said you jumped up 4 places huh?”

You nodded your head, a bashful smile pulling onto your lips, “It wasn’t that impressive, I’ve done it before.”

George nudged your side, prompting you to look up at him, a small smile edging onto the Brit’s lips, “That was your highest finish of the season though, darling. I’d say that’s pretty impressive, no?”

“I don’t want to overshadow how you’re feeling to be happy about my own race, mon amour. That’s not fair to you.”

Nudging you again, you felt his fingers dig into your ribs lightly, an indication he was telling you to stop talking. “You’re not overshadowing how I feel, I’m devastated, and I’m pissed at myself for how my race finished. It doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to be happy for you, to feel some type of joy over the fact my best friend just finished P2.”

Leaning up, you pressed your lips to his gently, a ‘thank you’ imbedded in the way your lips moulded together. George pulled you closer, pulling back to rest his head against your own once again.

“At least my crash damage numbers aren’t as high as your brothers. Did you see he finally hit the millions a few days ago? Knew he’d beat me there.”

“Oh my god, George. Not everything has to be a competition between you and my brother.”

But anyway, I loved this concept and also hated the way they solved JJ and Kie's fight in Season 4 so I tried to recreate it here with a better ending. Sorry, this took so long lol, much love!

"I mean, it would all blow up anyway. You know? Like... Look at you. You got your new threads on!" JJ exclaimed. "Look at me. What do I got? This? This piece of shit?" He threw something out of frustration, panting. You looked back at his run-down house, the eviction notice nailed to the front door with bright yellow police tape crossing over it.

"Getting kicked out of this place in three weeks anyway. shit, I don't even got parents right now. Why would you care? Why would you care? I'm just some loser that..."

"JJ..."

"You don't care. No, you don't!"

"I do care!" you shouted, getting frustrated with his attitude.

"No, you got parents that live in Figure Eight, you know?"

"That's not my fault."

"That's your future." he countered walking towards the water, hand running through his hair in frustration.

"Look, if you need us, we're gonna help you. I'm... I'll help."

"No- It's that right there! Okay? Like... It's so easy for you to say that." he whirled around to face you, yelling, "You know why? Because you're a Kook. You're a Kook, Y/n!"

"Yeah... I'm a Kook. I was such a Kook when I was living in a cave with you for a month! Soaking in the Kook life!"

"That's not what I'm talking about. GOD!" he exclaimed, reaching for his bike, he swung his leg over the seat.

"Jayj, don't leave." you pleaded, the engine of his bike revved and he started to drive away,

"JJ, WHAT THE HELL?" You screamed after him, tears rolling down your face, "MAYBANK!"

You were pissed the fuck off.

The first day after your fight you hadn't seen JJ, you cried for a couple hours, indulging in your favorite ice cream watching a sad rom-com, really getting in your feels.

Kie texted you to ask you what was up, the pogues had gone fishing that day but you never showed, to angry and sad to show your face to the world.

'Ask the blond kid,' was all you responded. you watched as her three typing bubbles flashed beneath your text.

'shit head's not here either,' she responded. 'wtf is going on,'

'fight. he called me a kook.'

'oh shit,' was all she said.

A few days later you walked around the chateau and dug through John B's fridge, you were fully aware of JJ's presence on the couch but still continued to ignore him. It was closing in on a week since you had last uttered a word to him.

Grabbing a chilled beer you walked past JJ and to the front door.

"Y/n," he said, voice cracking.

It wasn't the first time JJ had tried to talk to you this week and once again you ignored him. You slipped your shoes on and walked out onto the porch, slamming the door behind you. You flinched at how harsh it was but brushed the feeling away as you took a sip of your drink.

You sat at the edge of JJ's hot tub, the disco lights twinkled in the water, and the beer started to make you feel nauseous. You set it down and let out a shaky breath, blinking away tears that made the colorful lights spur in all different directions.

'Oh stop it Y/n' you told yourself, you would not cry anymore over this boy, if he didn't want to date a 'kook' that was his problem.

A long time must have passed, you had slid down fully into the hot tub finishing off your drink and basking in your own thoughts. The sun had set and the tides changed across the water.

"Go!" You heard someone on the deck grunt, you looked up to see John B pushing JJ out the door towards you locking him outside. JJ made his way down the stairs awkwardly and stood at the edge of the hot tub across from you, not getting in like he was looking for your permission.

"What do you want Maybank?" you asked quietly.

"I-uh," he sniffled and you focused closer in the dim light to see tears streaming down his face. "I made you a bracelet,"

He mumbled in the softest voice that made your heart clench and reached out to hand it to you. You looked at it closely, intricate little hearts knotted into the design, made with your favorite colors. And of course, the sea blue strings that you had told him reminded you of his eyes countless times. You didn't know what to say. Until you heard the soft sobbing coming from his lips, he thought you didn't like it.

"No, JJ..." you cooed, wrapping the bracelet around your wrist and tieing it in a crisp knot. You slid yourself through the water and stood in front of him taking in his state. He looked at you with pleading eyes and you wrapped your arms around him. He collapsed into you, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face in your shoulder. You felt butterflies in your stomach at his touch and lifted a hand to stroke his hair. God you loved this boy so much.

"I-i'm sorry," he cried, "I called you a kook, I'm such a dick, It's all my fault..."

"No, Jayj-" you whispered.

"Yes,"

"No, I am in the wrong too, shouldn't have ignored you like that," you whispered.

"But I called you a kook," he said again.

"And then I was acting like one, it was wrong,"

You stood there in silence hugging each other, you you feel his breathing slow and he recovered to look up at you.

"Please forgive me," he said.

"Always, as long as you forgive me," he nodded frantically at you causing you to giggle.

"Thank god that's over," you heard Pope say in the distance.

"Yeah, pass me one of those?" Kie said, taking a beer out of the cooler, the rest of the pogues walking toward the hot tub.

You all settle down in the warm water, JJ snuggling into your side, looking at your bracelet sweetly for the rest of the night. You kissed the top of his head, knowing what ever happed in the future you could always get through it with him.

house md hilson fic rec - medium to long fics (10k+)

Other house rec lists: short fics | episode tags | postcanon | infidelity trope (all of these are mutually exclusive apart from the infidelity one) // Edit: I added the longer postcanon fics to this reclist as well because this one got the most traction!

These are all House/Wilson unless otherwise stated. Before we get into the fics, here are some of my fave authors that have written several house fics.

fourteencandles: im literally in love with them . 10/10 writing no notes. also long fics?? hello???

ictus: this author has the range! from emotional to fluff to funny. very smooth writing. all of their fics have different vibes which was fun to read. they’re all very good.

Transformatron: fics that are transcendent and porny, all featuring a d/s undertone or theme (wilson as the dom)

Namaste (livejournal / ff.net): Some short fics, some much longer ones. Mostly gen focussing on H&W friendship, with some fics on canon pairings. Interesting character studies and discerning prose.

In order of length. *faves, ***underrated faves

*Brain Damage by fourteencandles (8k) (Ok I know this isn’t over 10k but I wanted all of their fics on one post and it’s close enough so.) This was brilliant. Like a real episode of House, with Wilson as the unfortunate patient-of-the-week, with bonus House/Wilson. Characterisation was bang on, and the plot was original and engaging and had a satisfying conclusion. Love to see House taking care of Wilson.

Down to the Water + Bound for Home by blackmare (~10k) Aftermath of season 4. House and Wilson go on a road trip. Quiet and sad and fragile, with excellent writing. This fic appears to have been fairly well known in lj days but I don't think a lot of newer people know about it.

*A Smaller World by fourteencandles (10k) The thing between them works, if Wilson doesn't push for more. God I’m so soft. I have so many feelings!!! In love with this established relationship hilson, still a little precarious, but with Wilson adapting, and House willing to put in effort.

*What's Past by fourteencandles (10k) The guy who used to have Wilson's job comes back for a visit, and it turns out they have more in common than Wilson ever knew.

*Touch Therapy by nomad (10k) It's not that House needs the human contact. It's just that when you're sharing an apartment, these things happen sometimes. Light hearted and funny, canon divergence from when Wilson’s staying on House's couch in s2. This is pretty much the homosexual waters have started flowing in House's direction post. Excellent dialogue.

***not another medical drama series (10k) by captainharkness Retelling of season 1 with House and Wilson as an established relationship. Great slice of life stories! Ongoing. The first is H/W POV, the second is Cameron, and the third is Chase. My favourite is definitely the second one (someone else’s story). I adore seeing H/W through the ducklings’ eyes.

Synchronicity by copperbadge (10k) Dead patients, car wrecks, drug overdoses, journalists, Comatose Charlie, and orange chicken. Must be love.

systemic by ictus (10k) Ever since Wilson moved in, House has presented with some inexplicable symptoms. Fortunately, he has a team of talented doctors to aid him with his diagnosis. Season 2 fic! This one is funny and sweet and overall a great read.

Rush Down Darkness by Starlingthefool (10k) House MD/World War Z crossover. Told mainly through interview dialogue from house’s pov. Engaging story. House/Wilson definitely takes a backseat to the plot — there’s no grand getting together or anything. That's not to say it's not about them though, because there were still lots of good moments (good in the sense that my heart hurts). More succinctly, it has the vibes of an established relationship fic., although it isn't technically one.

Defensive Strategies by Milkshake Butterfly (~10k) (lj) In which Wilson is tired of being asked out by women when he's not ready to date again, and naturally House proposes a simple solution: pretend to be together. An enjoyable read.

******Commonplace and True by celestialskiff (11k) It would be a simple story--House and Wilson meet at a medical conference, have sex, and enjoy each other's company--but nothing is ever easy, or simple. Explores Wilson's relationship with House, with women, and with himself. House and Wilson throughout the years — with the version of canon where Wilson has cheated on every wife and girlfriend with House. When I tell you I am FROTHING!!! Pining while fucking?? The way it’s never the right time?? The greed of wanting to have your cake and eat it too? (That one’s specifically for Wilson, our beloved three-wives guy.) The vibes are immaculate. The prose is elegant verging on poetic. I’m eating this fic whole and it will be on my mind always. It is THE hilson fic for me. It is criminal that this fic has been up since 2012 and it only has 200 kudos. Go read it immediately & give the author some love.

***Declarations of Independence by Namaste (ff.net, also on livejournal) (11k) House and winter, throughout the years. I really enjoyed this. Excellent writing. Copy pasting a part of a comment by bedawyn which articulates why this fic is unique better than I can: “So far, I've seen a lot of focus in the fanfic (and the eps) on the pain and the Vicodin, but very little awareness of the practical aspects of limited mobility and the emotional impact of those even apart from the pain. So this was a very nice change.”

***Rule of Three by Transformatron (11k) (House/Wilson/Foreman) Foreman sees something he shouldn't have. And, maybe, wants something he shouldn't have, too. This was well written and super hot, with fun dialogue and descriptions that do justice to the excellent writing of the show itself. Foreman is faithfully characterised in a way that made me sympathetic. Also H/W outsider perspective as a third is such a treat to read. Lower me into my grave!!!!

*Warning Signs by out_there (12k) Excerpt: House looked to the left, staring down at the open box. Wilson knew that expression on his face: House was torn between denying it all and gleefully acknowledging his schemes. Normally, his ego won out and, like a comic super villain, he'd explain all. Wilson just needed to stay quiet and wait. This fic was fantastic. I am disgustingly fond. Superb characterisation. Light hearted and funny.

The Oncologist Trap by zulu (13k) (2007) House subtly seduces Wilson. Somehow.

The Line of Thought by tevinterimperium (13k) House and Wilson pretend to be together to play a prank on the ducklings, which is an extremely plausible scenario. From the perspective of the ducklings. Set sometime after 3x15: Half-Wit.

hail mary by ictus (13k) A post-canon fix it! In the weeks since finishing the show and reading this fic there are times I forgot that this wasn’t canon. It’s such a believable (and well-researched) alternate ending that feels like an actual episode.

Son of Mine by simoneallen (14k) Sherlock is House’s long-lost kid. Usually I’m not a fan of cross-over fics but I enjoyed this one. Established relationship on the johnlock side, getting together on the hilson side.

***hearts turn red by ictus (14k) In my head this is the counterpoint to Commonplace and True. When I found it after reading that one it really was a holy shit two fucking cakes?? moment. The delicious infidelity vibes are similar, but the vibes of the writing are pretty different -- whereas the above fic has a more quiet, subdued atmosphere, this one has more snappy prose and it’s more light-hearted with funny moments as well as emotional ones. It’s not just the infidelity theme that makes me crazy about both of them though; it’s how they play on the great tragedy of House and Wilson. In the author’s own words: In a way they do feel a little bit doomed to never quite be on the same page with each other until the very end of the series and by then it's too late. Of course, in these fics, they’re rescued earlier than the end, but the wretched vibes remain. Also, I’m obsessed with this line: By Wilson’s read, House is somehow simultaneously joking and sincere: Schrödinger’s sexual advance. That is the entire fucking show.

An Inconvenient Truth by annathaema (15k) Wilson helps out Cuddy and reveals something about himself in the process. House freaks out accordingly. Also features banana-colored babies, the men's room, and Skee-Ball.

*at the rind by ShanaStoryteller (19k) An AU where Wilson experiences all the near death moments House has in the show as a series of nightmares. Set between 1.19 and 2.05, but spoilers for the whole show. Protective Wilson!! We love to see it. I also like Wilson’s characterisation here - you can very much see how not-normal he is. We love unhealthy co-dependency.

***Esopus Creek by shaycat (24k) An eighty-year-old widower by the name of Eugene Skinner ventures out one September day in upstate New York for his usual morning activity - fly fishing. His leisurely hobby is interrupted by a bickering pair nearby in the river. That chance encounter with Greg House and James Wilson changes the course of his life. Told from the perspective of the last friend the boys make on their final road trip. This was the perfect post season 8, Wilson-still-dies fic. A sad fic but not a depressing one. It’s quiet and heartwarming, in a bittersweet way. Highly recommend. It has great use of outsider POV — I’m always a sucker for it but it worked particularly well in this case to have the angst but not be drowning in it. Also I just really liked the OC.

***Howler Tone by baffledbear (25k) The calls always happen late at night, and they're extremely sporadic, with weeks, sometimes months bridging between them. They talk on the phone otherwise, of course; about patients, or dinner plans, or carpooling. Typical stuff. But the calls that always end a certain way always start a certain way. Wilson is so repressed but so attracted to House. House is taking as much as he can get while still remaining in relative safety. Together they push a platonic relationship to the absolute limits of plausible deniability. Overall totally realistic within the canon of the show — the natural step up from the gay chicken already depicted. It’s just such a perfect scenario for them! That combined with silky smooth prose, faithful characterisation and accurate dialogue makes this fic is a definite hilson favourite and also a hilson-thesis fic.

no need to worry (making up your mind) by scribespirare (25k) House makes the mistake of telling his mother he can't join her for Christmas because of his new boyfriend. Somehow, this becomes Wilson's problem. Cute and fun. I put off reading fake-dating fics because I was worried about them being OOC but this one definitely wasn’t!

***Sticks and Stones by Transformatron (25k) (WIP) House has an innovative new idea for managing his chronic pain. Wilson’s not sure he approves - but when has House ever asked for permission? This is such a great concept I am climbing the walls!!! D/s with House as the sub. The story is currently still at pre-relationship stage, with House experimenting with BDSM and Wilson being unhappy with the proceedings (for some unknown reason /s). Also the writing is nice and snappy with some great figurative language that manages to incorporate medical themes impressively well.

Fresh Feeling by justkeeptrekkin (30k) House is tricked into going on a team-building trip with his colleagues. He does far more bonding with Wilson than anyone else. Funny and well written. The team interactions are very cute.

***Tracking Time by Namaste (37k) (ff.net) A look at House and Wilson's friendship over the years and how it has changed from their meeting through the end of the first season. I don’t usually read long genfics but this one was exceptional. I like Namaste’s take on House and Wilson’s characters. And they are a very good storyteller — one thing that you don’t tend to see as much of in fanfiction is the old adage of ‘show not tell’. The writing in this fic is careful and subtle, and lets you read between the lines, making it so that no part of the 37k words is a drag to read.

*The Body Found by fourteencandles (46k) Wilson's missing. When I tell you I cried... Premium angst & hurt/comfort. Excellent dialogue with some alternating POV (House mainly, but you also get the three ducklings & Cuddy).

You Already Know How This Will End by fourteencandles (46k) What if House had gone to rehab right after/around "Merry Little Christmas"? (3.10) This fic was interesting. It’s told in a series of short vignettes with a variety of different perspectives. It’s not really a hilson fic (or a fic for any ship). It just explores the characters. I did wish for more hilson but it’s a good read (I mean, it’s fourteencandles). The one hilson scene near the end where they hire a hooker in Atlantic City lives in my head rent free. Warning that the ending is rather abrupt and I didn’t find it satisfying, but I think it works for this kind of story, in a way. Messy people and their complicated relationships, with a lot of loose ends left untied, because that’s just what life is.

***For Every Closed Door by starlingthefool (around 50k?) (lj) Overview of the chapters (14 with 4 interludes and an epilogue) is on the author’s lj (scroll down). House MD/Dead Like Me crossover. I love this fic a lot! It’s canon divergence from Season 3. House gets killed in a freak accident and becomes a reaper, remaining in the mortal world to harvest souls, able to interact with people but not be recognisable to those that know him. As the author says, this is an Afterlife!Fic and therefore a deathfic. They also said it’s not depressing — which is true, because it’s more plotty than an angstfest, and there are lots of light-hearted parts, but it is definitely heartbreaking at points. I literally cried all the way through the last chapter. Happy ending though!!! Don’t worry about the cross-over aspects. I haven’t seen Dead Like Me, and as far as I can tell, it just takes the premise of the show. I’m glad I found this fic whilst trawling 2000s livejournal because it’s really a hidden gem. Great plot, dialogue, compelling OCs — the whole package! I got so emotionally invested in the story. I think there were maybe a few parts that were a little unpolished but just keep reading. It’s really worth it.

*A Modest Proposal and Involuntary Commitment series by ignaz (98k) The one where House and Wilson get married so Wilson can’t testify against House in the Tritter arc. I have an unfortunate habit of downloading fics and then forgetting to bookmark & comment once I’m done, so I don’t have anything detailed to say about this one, but it’s a classic and a favourite of mine.

Twenty Years of Stealing My Food by hwshipper (100k) A backstory taking place over twenty years, from how House and Wilson met all the way to canon. A reimagining of their fucked up, magnetic relationship, with a straightforward writing style. They get together nearly as soon as they meet and maintain a steady open relationship whilst cheating on their various girlfriends and wives throughout the years.

Why the Newer Villians in Lego Monkie are more scarier

So we all know that in the start of Season 4 MK said:

MK: "What if this is the part in our hero's journeys where things get a little bit darker."

And yea, im pretty sure we can all agree witht that-

But then, while i was writing an analysis/theory video on the villians of lmk, i reailzed something.

The newer villians are more "scarier and darker" because of two things:

How they interact with our heroes

Their colour symbolism and its influence on feel of the show

How they intereact with our heros

Now when im talking about "newer villians" im specifically talking about:

LBD and the mayor

The ink demons

The Brotherhood

The hooded guy from the underworld

First of all theese villians are much more smarter with how they plan things out.

While past villians like DBK and Spider Queen are hurrying to do anything to defeat our main characthers, our newer threaths plan things out more.

They are built up more slowly, but that also means that they can suddenly come out of the shadows and attack our heroes where they thought they were safe, and end up terryifing both for the characthers and us watching.

Hell, we havent even truly met the hooded guy yet, but he has already managed to give MK and idenity chrisis, kill Wukong for a period of time and introduce us to the ink demons, who are scary enough of themselves.

And in that scene where LBD was tormenting MK for the first time, she was moving slower, but she still scared the living shit out of everyone. This is probaly because she put herself so much apart from the normally high paste show we are used to, which just felt so wrong.

That they also have time to grow in the shadows, means they can also learn a lot about our main characthers, which leads to one of their best but scairest skills, manipulation.

For an example, LBD may be dead, but she still haunts the show because of her genius but terrifying manipulation she planted like a diseasce in MK and the rest of the show.

Their colour symbolism and its influence on the feel of the show

Villians like DBK, Spider Queen and even Macaque, though meant to be evil, they still match very well with the feel of the show.

This is because, like the rest of the show, they still are shown in bright colours.

But again with our newer villians, they have more blue, grey and/ or a more monotone look, again putting them apart from the rest.

The colour symbolism, both positive and negative, and influence speaks enough for itself

Blue: Melancholy, sad, visdom, truth, effectiv

Grey: Mysteries, lonlieness, death, deressing

Conlusion

Im really scared for season 5

3. I have more way more things to say about these antagonists, more specifically LBD and that hooded guy. So i am currently, as i mentioned earlier, writing an analysis/ theory video about them. Its acutally about a quiestion thats been bugging me for a while:

If LBD's goal is destiny, while the guy from the underworlds goal is chaos, two very the most opposite goals, why are they both evil?

I plan to have this video uploaded on Youtube at some point in the next week, since its sunday today, so look out for that if you are interested. I will make a post about it, when i upload it.

THIS IS QUITE LITERALLY THE MOST INSANE THING SOMEONE HAS EVER SAID TO ME LITERALLY WTF 😭

first and foremost, totally understandable. this feels evil to admit but I watched the entire first season and four episodes of season two before I stopped. then it was 2020 and instead of studying for my ap exams I decided to watch the entire show (at that time season 4) was coming out and basically fell in love.

IM GLAD THAT IT GOT YOU TO WATCH TO THE END because god really I am never going to forget this though. this is still though quite literally the most insane thing someone has ever said to me and the highest praise bc wdym YOU READ THE ENTIRE FIC NOT HAVING WATCHED THE SHOW AND THEN WENT AND WATCHED THE SHOW AFTER I AM SO NOT NORMAL ABOUT THIS WHAT

I do think a lot about engagements/numbers on tumblr when it comes to my writing and I do think that part of that is natural just because the fact that numbers are there makes it so easy to compare to other people. this is one of the least popular things ive ever written but the interactions and conversations and love I do get from people who have read this makes it so worth it for me that it makes my heart swell. like sincerely, this is the only reason that it has gone on for so long and why I try to make chapters long and put in things that I know people want to see UGH im so not normal about this thank you so much

because i love these freaks. ok lets get into it (this is gonna be long)

love the dome this season !! the backgrounds are beautiful. the steps up in production across FH is amazing

ADAINE !! JAWBONE !! BOGGY !! i think her splash art is my have from the six. i have no clue what ESF stands for so anyone lmk

her mini is also i think my favorite, the pins on her leather jacket really sell it. minus points for boggy's HUMAN ARMS though, theres a clearer shot later on

fabian time ! love the blanket. bill seacaster art as well ! god hes terrifying. the doodles on the owlbear stickers are cute too

apples bee ! plus some art of cassandra. kristen is in her strong arc, which the world is all the better for. i think its also important to remember that from the start of the series kristen has always had a higher strength score than fabian (ignoring her 4 dex)

ignore the phantom riz mini, the trailer hardly stayed on his intro art for long. which is a shame cause LOOK AT IT !! the kalina picture, fuckin baron, the corn cuties, so much night yorb, bizz in the corner, captain whitclaw, coach daybreak - the man riz shot through the head in cold blood, the bardy boys !! its perfect.

fig !! sad theres no ayda art in here but theres gotta be in the series. "-and a wizards paramore, YES its part of my identity, thank you" iconic. glad her mini has a custom bass. also gilear <3<3

gorgug my boy. with his giant fuckoff axe. so happy his mini is including his artificer level, PLUS that probably means he takes another level in it, and unlocks infusions >:)

this two headed dragon guy. red dragon can always mean some Kalvaxis callback, but we never know. i DO know that there's a statblock for two headed dragons in Monster Manual Expanded III, so maybe brennan uses that ? or just gives a regular dragon two breath weapons. we will see

this was one of the clearest frames i could get for this art, but what we can see is still cool. love kristen in her kill bill jumpsuit. as an aside im still a riz-has-a-tail believer

now THIS is a battlemap. im like 99% sure that that's the Thistlespring Tree in the background, and the Sig Figs are having some kind of concert here. HOWEVER, if we zoom in, it doesn't look like any of their minis are on the stage. intrigue.

the internet mall ! or something. i have no idea who the minis could be, BUT the IDK-wearing purple one in the middle could be some Guardian of Faith representing cassandra. also adaine and boggy have matching berets in the wide shot

this set i think is a gladiatorial arena of some kind? because we see a bunch of monstrosities and aberrations with this in the background later. also the big gates and monster-keeping pens are a clue.

BOGGY ARMS. BOGGY ARMS. adaine is covered in blood. but fig looks to have some kind of ghost opossum familiar. BUT, my friend pointed out that it could be edgar, zayn's ghost rat ! so maybe we have him return for an episode. this house looks spooky enough. maybe mordred manor gets infested by demons or something

this roper-looking thing. it overlays when brennan says "an eldritch beast that threatens all of the denizens of this world," so im really thinking there's gonna be an overarching Aberration theme in these combats

also this guy. i have no clue what he is honestly. the rectangle in the background could maybe be a mirror or painting, so this might take place in the mordred manor-looking set from before

some sort of ghost ship? doubtful that its bill seacaster's ship again, and the mist could mean the ethereal plane

the bad kids !! just noticing that fabian's eye patch is either missing or on the wrong side

im pretty sure this is an umber hulk, also in the gladiator set

skateboard fig mini. also, this could be the hang van (?) but it also could be too long and be some kind of ghost limo. idk

graveyard ! maybe they team up with zayn here

a blue dragon, which makes me think the red dragon from earlier isnt kalvaxis related and is just a dragon

abbott elementary season 3 ep 1 & 2 REVEIWWWWW

idk why but I thought y'all might wanna hear what I thought about the season premierrrrrr!!!! it was so good and so chaotic. so many things going on at once.

when Janine walked out and revealed as district, I HAD A HEART ATTACK. but then the context helped. im just a little confused because didn't the Manny the district guy say Janine could go back into her class 1-2 days out of the week to teach?? or was it just to go around about hearing feedback?? it was so sad to see Janine's kids not caring about her presence and the super mean substitute. But, that one little boy, Alex, made my heart just warm!!!! It just reminded Janine why she's doing what she's doing!!!

omg and Janine and Gregory?? the way Janine HAD THE CONFIDENCE to go talk to Gregory about her feelings at the beginning of the school year??? like where did that bravery come out of, and she handled the rejection so well. like honey. I would have DIED. but also.... the way Gregory just... moved on???? well, I get why. bro has to protect himself, but like come on greggy boy, don't tell me YOU DONT just feel a little of love for Janine???? but I love the way writers handled it at the end. they didn't leave the awkwardness for the season and that is something I APPRECIATE. and at least we know that Gregory and Janine still want to be friends and still miss each other platonically.

am I being paranoid for being scared of Manny the district guy???? Like my boy Jacob had a point. Manny WAS giving me some crush vibes and it doesn't help how nice and genuine he is. LIKE IM LITERALLY FALLING FOR HIM. and his mom was a teacher??? I would love to see him more, but just not as another pawn in Janine and Gregory's relationship. but, I knowwwww better. and my girl QUINTAAAA will make us wait.

I think Janine is getting really confortable and friendly with the district crew and it's kind of scary me because if she gets TOO comfortable, she won't want to leave. I think when the fellowship ends, they'll offer her a permanent spot on the team and she'll want to take it but still teach at abbott.

Barbara was so cute this episode, with her makeup. and with how honest she was to the district. as some who works at a high school and has been dealing with a particularly horrible district and administration, Barbaras words hit too close to home. but she realized that the whole district team is essentially just 4 Janines with the power and position to make things happen. and I think she's really opening up to relying on the district more.

omg my girl Melissa. honey., I was so scared every time Gary made a marriage joke. and when he proposed I HAD A HEART ATTACK AND FOR A SPLIT SECOND I THOUGHT MELISSA WAS GONNA SAY YES and the rest of the season would be wedding planning. but as embarrassing and heartbreaking as it was for Melissa, she stayed true to herself and was mature to end the relationship. and my girl just crying made me cryyyyy omg. she looks so sad even though she was the one to break up with Gary, AND I KNOWWWWWW SHE'LL STILL BE HEALING. I don't think this is the last well see of Gary since he goes to the school every Thursday, but I think it'll be the end of their relationship permanently. but now that Melissa knows fs was wants to date and knows she doesn't wanna get married, I think she's gonna be in her exploration phase. HOEEEEE PHASSEEEE. god please send Melissa a gay awakening PLEASEEEEE. she needs a rebound and no better rebound than a woman. that would be so fun and so true to her.

but yeah thats all I think so far. and it was a great epsidose and a great start to an already unpredictable season!!!

1x03 - won’t get fooled again

pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader (2nd POV)

summary: in which a young woman visiting her brother in prison gets help from two agents, one being a very handsome Dr. Spencer Reid

warnings: mentions of prison, embezzlement, cancer, criminals, death, bombs, palliative care, terminal illness, estrangement (?), and no-contact with family

word count: 3132 (HOW???)

a/n: i’ve been writing so frequently that i actually am almost behind with watching the criminal minds episodes. as of writing for the third episode, i am halfway through ep 4 and really need to start watching to get ideas and all much more than i have been. im so happy to see all the love on the first two one shots and welcome engagement!

for those who might have missed the first two, here’s the masterlist for season one!

and here’s the premise of what i’m doing

“Are you kidding me?” You ask, exasperated, looking at the prison guard standing behind the window. He looked at you, no expression on his face and sighed.

“Sorry, miss,” He replied. You scoff on the inside, there was no tone that indicated this guy, Jacob from his name tag, was sympathetic at all. Especially after the 10 minute speech you just gave this man. You’re sure that he’s heard plenty of those working for a prison system, but it really was unfair in your opinion.

“I called ahead this entire month to make sure I could come today. I even called this morning and no one told me that visitors wouldn’t be allowed today.” You reiterated.

“Sorry, miss, there’s nothing I can do.” He echoed again.

You feel a presence walking up behind you, but you ignore for now and carry on, “Just, is there someone I can talk to? Can you give me a reason?”

“You need to come back next week, miss,”

You sigh and resist the urge to rub your fingers at your temple to prevent the quickly oncoming headache, “I can’t come back next week, I don’t live here. I just need five minutes tops with my brother. That’s it. I don’t care if there’s a thousand guards in the room or if we’re both wearing straight jackets, I just need to talk to my brother.”

“Whatever you need to tell your brother can wait.”

You close your eyes in frustration and run your fingers through your hair, “Our mother has cancer! It’s stage four and it’s terminal and I wanted to give him the privilege of telling him in person!”

“I can’t do anything, miss, now you need to leave.”

You can feel tears brimming, not in sadness, just in frustration. Your flight and trip that you had carefully planned over the past month in order to inform your brother about your mom had gone chaotic. First, your flight had been canceled and you instead took a red-eye flight in order to still make it here to tell your brother. In the past month in which you had planned to make your way down here, your mother’s condition had worsened and you desperately needed to get back to care for her. Plus, your job was expecting you back and you already took off the maximum amount of time you could, using sick days and vacation to still get paid.

“Excuse you,” you hear a voice behind you. You turn your head to see two men standing behind you, your cheeks redden a bit when you realize they just heard your entire sob story.

The first man was an older gentleman, slightly reminded you of your father with his greenish-blue shirt slouched on his body and his gray pants with deep pockets. His eyes noted some sort of twinkle in them, a youthful playfulness almost.

The second man was standing right off to the side of the first and he was more around your age. Standing tall with brown hair that curled around his ears wearing a neutral brown striped shirt tucked into his brown pants that were being held up by a belt. His eyes portrayed a more nervous demeanor, although he did meet your eyes when you glanced at him.

“Surely you can allow this young lady a few minutes with her brother,” The first man continued to say.

The prison guard seemed much more receptive to the older man than he was to you, figures. “I am sorry, but we have some police coming to question a very volatile prisoner.”

You swallow a scoff and force your eyes not to roll as the prison guard very easily these two men with an answer you were trying to get for the past 15 minutes.

Both men stand up a little straighter at the guard’s response and the second man, the one you noted with more nervousness which has now dissipated, reached into his pocket to retrieve something.

You very much didn’t expect a badge to be flashed to the prison guard. “We understand, sir, I’m Dr. Spencer Reid with my colleague here, Supervisory Special Agent Jason Gideon. We’re both with the FBI here to question Mr. Bale, but nowhere did we mention that the prison had to be on lockdown for visitors while we conduct our short interview.”

Your eyes widen and sweep the ground as the both authoritative and informative voice of the taller agent rang out.

The prison guard man seemed bristled by the words, “Just prison protocol, sir. I’m sure you can understand, agents.”

You fake cough and correct the asshole guard, “Doctor!”

This earned small smiles and grins from the two FBI agents that are still behind you and the guard narrowed his eyes at you, a sneer forming on his face.

Before he, or anyone, could say anything, another man walked up behind the prison guard on the other side of the cement separator of the entrance into the prison. He smiles at the two agents and glances at you, not dropping his smile, but his eyes read a hint of confusion.

“SSA Gideon, Dr. Reid, it’s great to meet you both!” He says enthusiastically, “If you’ll follow me, I show you where we’ve set up Mr. Bale,”

Both men give the man in a suit a nod in acknowledgement, but the lanky man, Dr. Reid, holds up his hand first, “Would it be possible for this young woman to be able to pay a short visit to her brother, Warden?” He questions.

The warden of the prison turns to you, still with a happy-go-lucky smile, “And you are, miss?”

“Hi,” You introduce yourself, “I called ahead a week ago, two days ago, yesterday, and this morning hoping to see my brother.” You can sense the man’s hesitance, “It doesn’t have to be a long visit at all! I would have never come if the woman on the phone this morning didn’t say you weren’t accepting visitors today. It’s just, I’m from out of town and traveled down here to specifically talk to my brother. Our mom has terminal cancer and I wanted to tell him in person.”

“I am very sorry to hear that,” The warden pauses and looks over to the more senior Agent Gideon to gauge his reaction.

Agent Gideon gives you a small grin and glance and then turns back to address the warden, “I assure you it would be no bother at all if the young woman were to talk to her brother.”

“I would agree if it weren’t for the volatile nature of Adrian Bale, Agent Gideon,” The warden responds. At least this man seems a little bit more sympathetic to your situation. Much more than the guard who has remained in the room who has taken to just staring ahead past all three of you still waiting to enter the prison at the wall.

This time Dr. Reid pipes up, “I assume Mr. Bale will be restrained when we conduct our interview in a secure room with multiple guards posted in and outside the room. I also doubt that her brother is housed in the same maximum security wing that Mr. Bale is in.”

He looks to you towards the tail end of his last sentence and you take action, “No, he isn’t. He’s in general population and I would really only need 10 minutes, sir.”

The warden ponders for a bit before looking between you, Dr. Reid, and Agent Gideon and then again back to you. A small slightly defeated smile creeps up on his face.

“I am sure I can spare a few guards and arrange for a short visit with your brother.” The warden motions to the prison guard who sighs and grabs the walkie-talkie off his belt and arranges for some guards to handle the visit.

You can’t help but have a wide smile appear on your face and you verbally thank the warden and the prison guard, although that one is much more forced. Then you turn back to Dr. Reid and Agent Gideon.

“Thank you so much,” You say, formally introducing yourself and then holding out your hand.

Both men shake your hand and wave it off, although Dr. Reid seems much more hesitant to extend out his hand and shake it in yours. Even as he does it, you can tell his hand is a little bit clammy.

“Please,” Agent Gideon responds, “It was no big deal.”

You hear a buzzing noise come from the gated entrance and realize they are letting you through. You put your purse and phone in the plastic tray provided to you by a guard and wave at both men as you are led down the cement and stone hallway. The last thing you see when you turn the corner is Dr. Reid smiling, glancing his gaze between you and his shoes.

Both of you involuntarily blush when your eyes make contact and you, almost regretfully, watch his figure disappear as you move after the guards.

As you moved through the gated doors, a buzzing noise sounding out your arrival, you had a lot of thoughts on your mind. One of them, however, was not seeing the Dr. Reid again in the same room as before.

“Dr. Reid?” You questioned as you came through, you thanked the new prison guard who handed you the plastic tray with your belongings in it. Gathering your purse and phone.

“Oh,” Dr. Reid responded, “Hi, uh, please, just call me Spencer.”

There was a standing silence for a few moments, both of you not sure what to say to the other.

“How did it go?” You both say in unison. Your faces turn a nice flush and you share a nice chuckle on how you spoke together.

“Um, how did your interview go?” You ask. There’s a small look of confusion on his face and you go to elaborate, “Your interview with Adrian Bale? I heard you and your colleague mention it earlier. He’s the Boston Shrapnel Bomber, right?”

Spencer nods, “Yeah, it, uh, went okay.”

You cringe at yourself, “It’s probably official FBI business right? You can’t really talk about it, can you?” You ask.

“It really wasn’t that eventful, actually,” He responds with a hint of something you can’t quite put your finger on written on his face. You’re not sure you believe the entire statement, there seems to be another few thoughts running in his mind.

“So, where’s your colleague?” You ask. You hadn’t seen Agent Gideon since you walked back into the main entrance.

Spencer picks out his phone from his pocket and shows it to you, “I was just calling him. He left to take care of something else,” He explains vaguely.

You don’t pay much attention to the poor explanation, you know its probably something not meant for your eyes and ears.

“What about you?” Spencer asked, “Your, uh, visit with your brother. How did it go?”

You shrugged, “As good as something like telling your brother your mom has cancer can go. That she’s terminal and in palliative care. That she’s not gonna get better and will die.”

“I’m sorry that your mom is sick.” He replied.

You nodded. It was something that you had heard from dozens of people in the past couple months.

“My mom,” Spencer starts saying, by his tone it almost seems like its difficult to say, “She, uh, has paranoid schizophrenia.”

That was not something you had heard from others. Definitely not.

When you don’t answer at first, Spencer backtracks, “I, uh, don’t know why I said that. It’s not like its a competition, I’m so so-”

“Don’t worry about it,” You interrupt and wave his concerns off, “I’m really sorry about your mom too.”

Spencer gives you a small awkward smile, “Thanks. I really don’t know why I told you that. I haven’t really told anyone about my mom before.”

You return the smile, “I find that people are much more open to talk about their tragedies with people who are currently going through one.” You respond.

“God,” You scoff at yourself, “That was kinda sappy and poetic.” You state.

You walk over towards Spencer and go to sit at one of the plastic folding chairs set against the wall. They weren’t built for maximum comfort, this was a prison after all.

“Do you wanna sit?” You offer to Spencer, “You can keep me company until you have to leave or until my bus comes.” You say, checking outside for any sign of said bus.

Spencer nods, wipes his hands on his pants and walks over, sitting in the seat next to you. He places his satchel bag that was over his shoulder and sitting on his hip to the ground below you, joining where you sat your own purse.

“Is it just you and your brother?” Spencer asks, trying to make small talk.

You shake your head, “No, we have an older brother. He’s four years older than me. I’m the middle child and only daughter.”

“Could he not visit?” Spencer prys.

If it were anyone else asking this question, you would probaby give some half-assed answer, but to be honest, you were awfully bottled up emotionally from today’s visit and perhaps you did find truth in sharing tragedies.

“They’re not on talking terms, my brothers. Jeremiah, the one I’m visiting, is in prison for embezzling money and he’s loaned a lot more money from family too. He has a gambling addiction.” You explain.

“David, my older brother, got him a job at his workplace and when Jeremiah stole money from work, David got fired. David doesn’t want anything to do with Jeremiah and certainly wasn’t gonna come down to tell him about mom. And Dad refuses to leaves mom’s side ever since she’s gone into palliative care. He’s afraid that if he leaves, she’ll die.”

“So, you came out here to tell your brother?”

You nod, “Yeah. He didn’t deserve to find out in a letter and even though Dad and David are pissed at him right now, he still deserves the time that each of us got. To ask questions about mom’s condition and get some information.”

Spencer gives you a smile, “That’s really thoughtful of you.”

“Thanks,” You reply, then your expression turns more somber, “Is it weird that I’m not mad at him? I mean, he borrowed ten thousand dollars I know I’ll never get back and got my brother fired and stole from my parents and the family business, but I just can’t stay mad at him.”

“I don’t think that’s weird.” Spencer assured you with a small smile on his face. The more you looked at him, you couldn’t believe how a guy so nice and caring and comforting was just interviewing one of the most dangerous criminals in the area.

“So, uh,” You go to change the subject, “Do you have any good food recommendations while I’m in town?” You inquire. You were hoping that whatever he suggested could be turned around in an excuse to maybe get dinner. Sure, it wasn’t practical since you were just visiting and you had only just met the guy, but then again, it’s not like you went and told all your family drama to everyone you just met.

There was something about this guy in particular, with his sweet hair and awkward posture that caught your eye and warmed your heart.

He chuckled and fiddled with the strap of his satchel bag on the edge of his chair, “I, uh, actually don’t live here. My team and I traveled down for a case from Quantico, Virginia.”

Your eyes widened a bit, “Oh,” It was your turn to chuckle now, “I live in D.C.” You respond.

“Wait,” He asks of you, “Really?”

You confirm with a nod and laugh out loud, “Yeah, I’m a political analyst on Capital Hill! It’s kind of crazy to meet here of all places, right? An unusual coincidence.”

“Actually, coincidences often seem more remarkable when they happen than they actually are. From a statistical perspective, coincidences are just events that happen with unlikely probability. Famed psychologist, Carl Jung, has said that there are no such things as coincidences, just synchronities.”

You stared at him in part awe and part adoration. You had previously scanned his hands for a wedding ring and didn’t find anything so you really hoped that he wasn’t dating or engaged to anyone because you’d really like to get to know this man more.

You guess he took your staring and silence in embarrassment because even though his cheeks flushed, he backtracked heavily.

“But, um, yeah!” He said, his voice cracking a little bit, “It’s pretty, uh, cool? To meet here, in a prison of all places.” His hand seems to instinctively go to brush his hair back behind his ear, even though it was already there.

You bite your lip and decide to make the first move, your heart starting to race, “Well, maybe when we’re both back in D.C, we can meet up and get some dinner.” You state slowly, trying to gauge his reaction.

The flush of his cheeks seem to travel across his face and to the tips of his ears, “That would be really nice.” He nods and glances up at your face instead of down at the floor.

You both turn your heads to the glass entrance doors to see the approaching visitors bus, the engines loud humming being able to be heard from all the way across the parking lot to inside the building.

“Oh,” You say and start getting up and getting your purse together. You rifle around in your bag and finally get a hold of a business card that just so happens to include your email and phone number on it.

You look at Spencer and give him a kind smile, “Here, when you’re back in the DMV area, call me and we can set up that dinner.”

Spencer gently takes the card from your hand and looks at it and then back at you, “Thank you, I will be sure to do so.” He says, a contagious grin on his face. An expression like he almost couldn’t believe what was happening.

“It was really nice to meet you, Spencer.” You say and then turn to go and leave, before pushing the glass door open, you turn your head over your shoulder and see Spencer staring back at you, giving you a small wave.

You wave your hand back and silently wish that he puts the number on your card to good use, but only time will really tell. As you make your way to the bus to leave, you realize your heart hasn’t stopped racing and you smile.

HI! IM PUTTING MY CASTLEVANIA SEASON 3 EPISODE 9 (and a little of episode 10) THOUGHTS INTO THE WORLD! HERES YOUR SPOILER WARNING NOW!!

oh my god, ok, so. The absolute MADNESS of this episode starts LESS THAN 4 MINUTES IN TO A 28 MINUTE LONG EPISODE. That’s 24 whole minutes of death defining battles and really controlling s3x.

I mean like, the fights were really cool, they were interesting to watch, ISAAC? Bro that’s insane, I really liked the whole mind control concept that town had, I also don’t think the wizard spoke a word the whole time which was an interesting dynamic for a fight. Isaac breaking out of the mind control is like WOO GO ISAAC. But by far, (and yes im aware this was SUPPOSED to be serious) I found all the people slo-mo falling from the building quite funny for some reason?? I guess it was just unexpected.

Then there’s the whole alucard situation, SUMI AND TAKA? WHAT THE FUCK GUYS? YOU WERE GOOD CHARACTERS HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? WHEN DID THINGS CHANGE?? they were genuinely enjoyable, alucard seemed SAD he genuinely seemed like he wanted them to stay as long as possible! THEY COULD SEE HE WAS LONELY 😭 AND THEY USED IT AGAINST HIM! They basically seduced him, tied him up, TRIED TO KILL HIM. And died. They deserved to die hurting the poor dude like that. Alucard has scars everywhere now and I feel so bad for himmm

Trevor and sypha, good lord. POINT 1: SYPHA WAS RIGHT. SHE SAID, “do you think we can wait?” AND JUDGE BEING DUMBBB went “this is my town. You will do as I say >:(“ AND IT MAKES ME SO MAD! SHE CANT DO ANYTHING AND SHE KNOWSSS. “I just didn’t see it” GRAH POINT 2: that WHOLE fight, oh my god, the FIRE the MONSTERS PRIOR “DRUGLORD” SALA. The whole thing was constructed really well, AND SEEING DRACULA AND LISA. AFTER THE END OF EPISODE 9 IT ALMOST MADE ME THINK IT WAS ALUCARD THEY WERE SEEING. JEEZ IT WAS CONSTRUCTED WELL.

And lastly, my dear wife Lenore, I love her with all my heart BUT WHAT A TWISTED WOMAN?? OH MY GOD POOR HECTOR. IN THE BEGINNING I THOUGHT “oh this has to be more consensual than what’s going on with alucard, she’s probably just Seducing him 🤷‍♀️” WRONG. THE SLAVE RING? THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HURT. AND ALL THEIR SCENES I FEEL LIKE ARE WILDLY MORE REVEALING THAN ANYTHING WITH ALUCARD. BUT SERIOUSLY, That whole plan was really pulled off SO WELL she did a very good job of keeping her own face while KNOWING exactly what she was doing every step of the way. All in all this whole episode pulls together really well into a shamble of absolute terror. And I love it.

what are ur feelings on the execution of the magic reveal??

ok so i have manymanyMANY feelings on in which ill try to wrap up as cleanly as possible so lets just get into it

the way they like speedran the magic reveal??

to paint you a picture: i was super impatient when i first started the series lmao, and so i had watched maybe 4-5 episodes of the first season when i googled "when does arthur find out about merlin's magic"💀💀 i ended up getting the wrong answer because im stupid as shit so i was just surprised as everyone else when it ACTUALLY happened, but thats besides the point.

the point? this was a SUPER important plot point. everyone was waiting on the edge of their seat, every single episode, for merlin to finally pop arthur's bubble and reveal his magic. but five seasons passed, and we didn't get it until the last episode?? are you kidding me?? and because we only got it on the last episode, where arthur was dying, arthur was robbed of any true explanations or declarations or apologies like he—we—deserved. instead, arthur's reaction to it was brief and just not enough. he was disbelieving, then shocked, then angry, then sad, then accepting, all within what, like a day and a half? forty minutes of screen time? im sorry, after spending around 46 hours watching this series and waiting for the magic reveal, that just doesn't cut it.

2. we have to admit, the magic reveal in the last episode felt so NATURAL

sometimes i really struggle to hate the magic reveal, because no one can deny how perfectly everything fell into place. he got trapped in the cave, his father spoke to him, he escaped the cave and transformed himself into that old guy, he single-handedly wiped out the Saxons, arthur was struck, merlin found him and carried him away from the battlefield, merlin turns back into merlin, and then the fucking "I defeated the Saxons. The dragon, and yet— and yet I knew it was Mordred that I must stop." / "The person who defeated them was the sorcerer." / "It was me." / "Don't be ridiculous, Merlin. This is stupid. Wh—why would you say that?" / "I'm—I'm a sorcerer. I have magic. And I use it for you, Arthur. Only for you." (Your welcome for that, day after Christmas<3)

like, you CANNOT TELL ME that doesn't flow perfectly!! that everything that happened in that episode didn't flow perfectly!! the magic reveal was always going to be impossibly difficult to get right, but they got it right in the finale!! that is one thing i will always give the writers—I may have not liked the circumstances of the magic reveal, but the magic reveal itself was beautifully executed.

3. too little, too late

i read an article recently that really pointed this out, and while i disagree with most of what they said in the article, i agree with one thing: the ending was so, so unsatisfying. the magic reveal was so, so unsatisfying. what was the point of him even revealing his magic? the magic reveal was great, sure, but nothing actually came out of it. oh, for the next 24-48 hours of life, arthur can accept him!! but that's it.

there's the implication that gwen will legalize magic after the series, but merlin and gwen don't even get a final scene together! all in all, the magic reveal just wasn't enough. we ended so much more time for arthur to sort out his feelings, for there to be good days and bad days, to watch them relearn trust and love again. we deserved that kind of ending. we deserved the magic reveal to be in, imo, The Death Song of Uther Pendragon, or s5e3. give them an entire season to get through everything. you can still kill arthur!! but let them have that animosity. if anything, have them start out those last two battles on bad terms. let the travel to the lake be them relearning trust and love. let that be the emotional baggage they have to unpack in the finale.

just overall, do anything except what you actually did lmao.

alright!! i think those are the main three points? i think that wrapped everything up pretty nicely, so ty sm for the ask!! these are always the highlight of my month lol.
