What is your favorite jikook moment/bts song?😄

You saw my whiny little post from last night, eh? Lol. I was in a bit of a mood for a moment but thank you for indulging me ☺️🤣

But clearly I was talking out of my ass, huh, cause now I have to pick one favorite?! ONE?! Painted myself into a bratty little corner there, didn’t I.

Song: I am an indecisive person & I also tend to cycle through songs and have different faves at different times (like everyone probably) but one of my ultimate all time faves is We are Bulletproof: the Eternal. I’m a sap at heart, so that one can straight up make me emotional if I hear it at the right time. The guys have such clear emotion ringing in their voices, it feels so pure and raw and like it’s something they sing from the bottom of their hearts. It’s just a very epic feeling song, too, and musically gorgeous. I have so many other faves but I’ll say that one today 😁 lol

Fave Jikook moment?!? Seriously what was I thinking acting like I could pick one?! Feels like every time I see another moment or rewatch an old one, I see it from a different angle, pull something else out of it.

One that I find very tender that I think is a bit underrated is that 2019 fansign where JK ranked Jimin as first in looks.

Let me preface this: I detest those looks ranking questions. I get it, it’s showbiz, and maybe a bit of a cultural diff too, but it just grosses me out. Takes me back to junior high when the boys in my grade passed around a piece of paper with all of the girls in our grade ranked by looks 🤢 so, yeah, not praising the scenario here, BUT:

1. JK handled this so cutely

2. JM’s reactions and whole demeanor was everything.

And when I tell you my man Jimin goes through a JOURNEY during this question. It’s kinda sad— getting ranked last previously, especially by JK, was probably hard on him (would have been hard on anyone, it’s just a fucking uncomfortable situation ugh) — and you can kind of see this moment where he hears that they’re doing a looks ranking, and that JK is doing it, and he kind of pretends to ignore it? Meanwhile everyone but Tae the ethereal blue-haired beauty who is shuffling through questions is watching JK.

Focusing on Jungkook for a sec — he prefaces the whole thing with this adorable caveat that this is HIS ranking according to HIS taste. Okay, we hear you. Continue.

They shuffle around while he says this, get situated and Jimin looks over, so clearly he’s aware of what’s going on after all.

But while JK works the crowd and builds up to saying who’s in first place, Jimin looks back down to read the same question he’s read like 6 times now. Cause he definitely for sure isn’t paying attention (again it’s actually fucking sad and I wanna hug him but luckily he has ppl in his life for that lmao). But boy does he read the heck out of that little slip of paper.

And then, surprising literally no one BUT Jimin, JK says first place goes to the one who USED to be ranked last, Jimin-ssi, cause he can’t not call him that.

And Jimin’s face. Y’all. He lights up. His shoulders lose this tension, he looks genuinely surprised and delighted and it’s fucking adorable. I think this meant something to him beyond on-stage antics of a fansign, I really do. And maybe I’m reading into it, but I think it felt good to Jimin for JK to do that, for whatever reason that may be.

AND THEN

yeah you thought I was done I’m not

AND THEN, Jungkook decides to screw the rest of the rankings and skip to the last place, which he was gonna name himself, but Joon cuts in and says just name second place because that man is an excellent leader and diplomatic as hell, and JK goes “okay I’m last” and names Joon second place in a cute little interaction (just go watch it). But what I find so telling about that is that JK basically threw the rest of the question. He didn’t want it, probably partly because looks ranking is cringey but also because I think he really just wanted to right the wrong of ranking Jimin last, put him at the TOP of the list according to HIS taste, for the record, and then be done with that shit. And I feel him.

Whew. If you got to the end of this thanks, I’m long-winded. Thanks for taking the time to ask and if you feel like coming off anon, I’d love to hear your faves in a reply 💜

j-hope really is the only one that put effort in birthday wishes. I also understand where Jin is coming from that just because members don’t post doesn’t mean they’re not on good terms- but i also wondering why he had to say that today of all days lol. Then again members shouldn’t post for the sake of posting to appease their fans if they’re not genuine I guess. Idk it’s just weird.

Yeah, and I was just talking about it the other day on a post; that only Hoseok seems to take a lot of photos and keep them, and post them. Since the pandemic Jimin seems to only take photos with JK and the rest of the members only for their bdays, usually he takes them and posts them the same day. Jungkook doesn't even do that, I think atp even Namjoon has more photos of Jimin than JK. I don't think they're taking photos of each other at all. When Hoseok posted that video of Jimin dancing for some reason 2018 came to mind when Jimin posted ten tweets saying happy birthday for JK, and I teared up a little. Then that got me thinking about 2019 when he posted a video saying happy birthday and then a photo celebrating with JK, and I teared up some more.

Jikookers who were comparing Jungkook's troll video yesterday with the tweet he made in 2019 for Jimin's birthday deserve to be BEHEADED. Literally no similarities at all and I felt personally offended.

Jin was panicking 😂 saw someone saying that he was posting that while being held at gun point by Jimin lmao. I wonder too why did he say that today, he could've posted a message on a piece of toilet paper like he did a couple of years ago. Nobody's going to wonder if Jin and Jimin of all people are in good terms... I'm sorry Jin but nobody's thinking of you like that 😭 maybe tell that to jinkookers if you ever don't post for JK, they'll appreciate it more than us.

It was obvious, tho.. that's why I try to not worry about those things, even if at times it can trigger my petty side like when nobody posted for with you, but logically, I know that they're rooting for each other. And I've always had the same position when it came to bday posts, it's just something that's nice for us, for the fandom; but ultimately it means absolutely nothing to them. Since it is for us, I am going to judge their posts idc.

And I think it's better to not care about insignificant stuff. I'll celebrate it if I really think it's something "special" and that they put extra effort in (and the bar is in hell for that because none of them is doing that much), like Hoseok did this year.

I am sorry for this ask but I am rather concerned with Jungkook’s choice of songs lately. The “Hate Everything” I can relate it to Jimin being away recovering from his surgery and Covisld and Jungkook not being able to see him. But now that Jimin is home, why does Jungkook continue to play angsty songs? I miss the OT7 but especially Jikook. I want to know Jikook is OKAY, if you know what I mean. 😩

No. I don't. I can understand missing them, but we aren't entitled to public social media interactions from them, especially since Jimin hasn't really been active at all anywhere except for Weverse very briefly.

Jungkook has been recommending and covering all kinds of music since 2015. From angsty break up songs to emotional ballads to poppy love songs. Here is a list of his Twitter song recommendations and covers up until 2020. Seriously, go check some of those songs out. Some of them are sad or angsty as heck. THIS IS NOT NEW FOR HIM. THIS IS HIS TASTE IN MUSIC

If yall want me to do an updated post over his Spotify and Instagram recommendations at some point, let me know.

You don't have to relate everything he does back to Jimin simply because you are missing them. People only tend to analyze the hell out of JKs music recs. Why is that? Namjoon has been recommending songs like CRAZY over on Instagram too. No one is losing their minds over what it could mean, other than maybe perhaps, he likes the songs? For instance, he recommended this song on Instagram and it's got some fairly angsty lyrics

No one is saying Joon has a drinking problem or a love life problem. People are just adding it to their Playlists and enjoying the music and enjoying the artists reactions when they notice they are getting hyped by BTS. For example this morning, Finn Askew was over the moon seeing the recognition JK brought to his music by sharing it on his insta stories and then also promptly followed JK on Instagram afterwards.

Thr majority of his covers also are either love songs or break up songs. This doesn't mean that he has been on the world's craziest Rollercoaster of emotions in either a million different relationships or a crazy on again off again one either? Unless there is more of an implication given, the only thing that's fair to assume is that he posts these songs because he likes them. Lol

Let's not mention also the fact that I PROMISE you that I'm so head over heels for my husband it's ridiculous, yet I'm currently listening to Bleeding Out, and this does not reflect my mood or my relationship, but it doesn't stop it from being an amazing song that I enjoy. It's literally just the type of music I've been in the mood for as I'm answering asks and/or reading my book right now. (Look up the song/lyrics if you don't know them I guess. Lol)

Or how I've definitely cleaned my house while belting out angsty break up songs while they play super loud and dramatically danced around my husband singing the lyrics to them as well. You won't find photos or videos or us joking about it on social media though. Lol in fact, in this post I even went and counted how many times I posted about my relationship of over a decade long on my Instagram account. Spoilers, it's not that much. Doesn't change the fact that when I do, we are cute as hell and when I don't, we are STILL cute as hell and I'm STILL in love with him and divorce is not even a consideration.

So... again. This type of music recommendations is not new for JK. Every song he posts doesn't mean someone broke his heart nor does it mean he is just feeling overwhelmingly in love that he has to go listen and recommend a song about it. Relax. Don't feel the need to over analyze everything to the point where you stress over it. Enjoy the music!

Okay, so I am gonna rant and I want you to add your two cents, if you don't mind. Correct me if I am wrong in any way.

Recently, I saw something on the flaming pile of shit that is Twitter and it made me think for a bit. It was about skinship in Kpop, in general. And how BTS aren't really that big in it. And because that is what fans use to determine how close members are that is why JK and JM are considered to not be close or that JK is uncomfortable with JM. Because they use skinship to determine how close the members are. Nothing else. And because other companies are big in showing off skinship/fanservice of their members, that KM aren't that special because they don't show a lot of skinship. Apparently, closeness is determined by skinship. And skinship does matter because the fans use it to determine who is closest. Sorry, hope that summary made sense. Now begins the rant.

I just really can't anymore. People blow my mind. If ALL you can see of KM is their apparent lack of skinship compared to other groups and the other ships in BTS, then why are you here? You say skinship matters, then why and how does it matter when all the boys do it? We say skinship doesn't matter for that EXACT reason. Yes, it may matter to the other companies because it sells, but I don't think BH as a company focuses on that skinship/fanservice to provide a lot of profit. It's a nice side thing to see when watching the boys accomplish their dreams. And these boys have a LOT more freedom when doing things at BH compared to these other groups. Their companies profit off of/depend on the skinship moments between their members. Do we need skinship to determine how close the boys all are and how KM have grown closer over time? HELL NO!

I didn't say it before, but the Twitter post went further to state that ARMYs think that another ship is closer because the amount of skinship moments. Great for them! But did they ever think to wonder how suspicious it is that JK is ever so cautious when interacting with JM? He does not EVER do that with the other members, in my opinion. He looks like he is controlling what he is doing and for what reason?! Furthermore, when we do take a skinship moment into consideration, we take context, tension, and consistency into consideration, as well. Not everything means something, but I can list one that stood out to me. Rosebowl. I have never seen JK suck another members ear into his mouth to do whatever he wanted to do to JM. I don't think we will ever see him do it with another member in that context with that tension. If that doesn't scream closeness, then I don't know what does. I wouldn't put another member's sweaty ear in my mouth, especially if I was a very clean person. Unless, I was extremely close to them and I needed to prove/do something.

So, yeah, we don't use skinship that much or consider it a big deal because other people use it to determine closeness.

However, what we do use is other moments that are not related in any way to skinship.

How about spending so much time together that staff rarely saw them apart when passing by? Oh, I guess that doesn't shout closeness to you. It depends on skinship, doesn't it?

How about taking time to fly from Paris to Korea to spend a birthday and give gifts to someone? Taking time to get a cake and making a video telling them they would get drinks later, just to show up? Only one other member showed up and the other members were doing other things. Oh, but I guess that doesn't count again. Darn it!

Oh! How about being together at 4 AM on another birthday? And how big of a deal it was to them to share it with us? When it literally was not needed information at the time? JK grinning at JM when he finally spilled the beans was very sweet. But, oh gosh darn it! That won't work either, will it?

Ah! What about how consistent JK is with dropping honorifics with JM and speaking informally with JM (I can't really remember, but I think it is a mix between informal and formal speech? Correct me if I am wrong.)? He did a lot of this before he did it with the others. Of course, since they are all close, he does it now. But I do remember him saying that he wasn't comfortable with doing that before somewhere? So, why did he feel and why does he feel comfortable enough to do it with JM? And why did and why does JM let him get away with it? But I guess that was another flop since skinship was not a part of it. Sigh.

How about the GCFs? Tokyo was basically a love letter if you were willing to listen. JM seems to be his main muse if you look at all of them. But, ah! I guess everyone goes on trips with one person they aren't that close with or uncomfortable with. So, that's another bust, huh!

How about having inside jokes that the other members aren't privy to? The volleyball RUN episode and that recent behind the scene where KM were signing a song some online gamer sung (I think it was PUBG, but I don't know. I do know the person was streaming during it though.). That shows that they have there own jokes and that should show some closeness, right? Still, it doesn't have skinship, so I guess that is another one down the drain.

Ooo! How about JK's tattoo? This one is kinda obvious if you are just looking at it from an unbiased point of view! That one does it right? Ah, but I am wrong again, aren't I?

I could go on and on about the things that KM have done and will do that aren't related at all to skinship. Skinship doesn't show closeness. Never will. So, why shouldn't we make these moments bigger in our community and not consider a lot of skinship moments or the apparent lack of them? Why should we take into consideration that others think that another duo is closer due to skinship and that skinship matters more than anything? Why do these moments never get taken into consideration?

Maybe they are blind or just plain willfully ignorant of BTS, KM, and the relationships in it (and to be frank. I really don't take other kpop groups into consideration. I feel as if BTS are another level in how they show themselves, how they interact, and how much freedom they have. No other group I have seen has that much freedom. Tell me if I am wrong please.) I am not and never will be. I will not let others try to stomp on my opinions and these moments because they feel as if it doesn't show closeness due to their apparent lack of skinship. Sure. See it that way. I don't.

Skinship not big in BTS? Are they f**king blind?

I think they are a bit muddled up between skinship and fanservice. Two totally different though intertwined subjects.

Here is where I don't agree with something you said anon, because Skinship is about showing affection. BTS practice skinship showing their affection to each other. With Jikook, being as close as they are (time spent together, them literally telling us in not so many words what they mean to each other) the sus part is how careful they are when it comes to skinship. I, like you, feel it's more about JK's fear to lose control of the situation. Skinship when there is friendship and affection is not the same when there is sexual tension in the mix (re BV4 and JK's need to cover up after just a little of footsies with JM). Not every touch causes a reaction. But when you are in love with someone, when you are attracted to someone, their touch can reek havoc.

That was skinship - an acceptable way to show affection within SK culture.

Fanservice is about selling a product to the fans.

Is skinship utilized by other companies to sell their products? Oh yes it is. Does BH utilize skinship to sell BTS? Not as such, in my opinion. It’s not that BH hasn’t used fanservice over the years (JM or JK lifting their shirts during songs, kissing games – in the past) but they never had the members touch each other or pretend to show affection towards each other to sell the band. When members do skinship, it’s them doing their own thing, them showing affection and closeness with each other.

BTS are the epitome of skinship. They take it even farther than other k-pop bands. What BTS are not big at is fanservice. Yes, they do it at times, but it’s not on the level we see in other K-pop bands. Just lately I have started to see a bit of other K-pop bands, the things they go through on stage or in gameshows, the things they do as fanservice. BTS are not there at all.

Yes, they do engage in fanservice, but it’s usually them at a heightened state of excitement doing their thing but knowing just how much the fans love it. Jikook interactions on stage, Taejin interactions, at times could be considered fanservice although it’s not fake interaction. It’s them enjoying themselves and each other in front of their fans.

As for your description what makes Jikook, you are 100% right anon. Take the skinship out of the equation all together. We don't need skinship to see just how close Jikook are.

Anywho, soft hour is open. I want to know your top 3 “uWu snatching/just hits you in the feels” jikook moments. The ones off the top of my head that never fails to make me ☺️🥺😭 (and not in that order but a disgusting mix of all those emotions at the same time) are (also, in no particular order):

1) gimbap Vlive, that moment where jimin nudges his head against jungkook’s, asking again “how do you want your eggs?” and jungkook’s SOFT giggle (gosh, I love when they are being such dorks messing with eachother 🥺)

2) that one concert where jungkook turns around only to cry harder and jimin wiping his tears for him (ughh. What more do I have to say? 🤧)

3) that one bday message to jimin. the one with ‘sorry’ after every line (yeah idk that one just gets me. Just undeniable sweetness overload)

So…looking forward to your list of ONLY 3! Okay? Just. Three. :P

And p.s. I am loving all the positive engagements and discussions happening here. I’m impressed by all the different kinds of asks you are getting, with some being much more thought provoking (well, thought provoking for a nincompoop like me). 1. Same as you, when Jimin gets all up in Jungkook's face for not being more specific. 💔 Literally a what the hell, not while I'm eating! moment. This moment and D3 Jikook are on the same level of suspicious for me.

2. In the Japanese interview where Jungkook speaks for Jimin in a question addressed to Jimin, and he says that Jungkook is the one that makes him happy? I AM SO SOFT. He doesn't often do stuff like this (and this is pretty relevant to an upcoming ask that I'd received), which explains why I LOST MY MIND when it happened.

3. My last moment is kind of the odd one out because I think it was a fan cam that caught it, but it's when they're done with the choreography, and before moving off-stage, Jungkook clearly waits for Jimin to take his hand before taking off. I don't know if there was any context behind it (e.g., was it too dark for Jimin? Though this seems unlikely), but it looked like an extremely tender gesture for an environment that they would be comfortable in and know how to navigate well enough. Admittedly, I project a lot when I watch this because it reminds me of my partner who will do this when we're in a crowd, for example, and when I tell you THE WAY my heart flips when he does this. It's so alpha energy (and I don't mean in an ABO way, please keep that away from me lmfao), and I die every time it happens.

He definitely did not expect to fall in love with his resident advisor’s little brother—and then proceed to sneak into said resident advisor’s room and hack his computer just to have one more Skype date with the little brother. Without getting caught by said resident advisor. Yeah—he’s a little stressed, to say the least.

He didn’t sign up for this. He thought college would be a great idea—who would pass up the opportunity for ultimate freedom and youthful stupidity? No, he was ecstatic for college—but he definitely hadn’t signed up to be the fucking victim for his resident advisor’s boyfriend’s experiments.

“Hoseok-ssi, please stay still or otherwise this will hurt. A lot,” Namjoon begged as his friend Yoongi tried to hold him down on the fragile coffee table.

“That’s not what your needle’s saying! You said it was a harmless experiment! You said I’d be fine!”

“You will be! I just need practice drawing blood once—”

“You’ve never even done this before?” Hoseok shrieked, writhing some more. Yoongi growled in frustration and flung his entire weight onto Hoseok’s body—and thus effectively snapping the legs of the coffee table and sending them down towards the floor.

His advisor ran into the room then, eyes wide in alarm while holding a skillet filled with half-cooked meat, his creased white apron reading World’s Best Dad! in pretty cursive pink. “What the hell is going on here?”

SUMMARY

The last thing Jungkook expected after running away to Seoul is to score a private live viewing of Naked_Neighbour_Dancing_In_His_Bedroom.mov—and then proceed to bump into him when he’s not-so-naked. And then also manage to greet him with a slap. It also probably doesn’t help that Nude Neighbour is his new boss. All in all, Jungkook just maybe kinda wants to die. (But of course Seokjin isn’t gonna allow him, so he’s just going to suffer—for now.)

PREVIEW

He sighs, turning his head to gaze out of the window, only to freeze when he realises his view isn’t exactly the most… decent.

Because across from his small studio apartment window is a perfect view of a larger apartment in the building across, and currently, the tenant (he hopes the boy’s the tenant) is enthusiastically dancing through his room completely naked, dinglehopper fully on display. He’s mouthing the words to some song, throwing a finger up in the air as he shuts his eyes and nods his head as though the music (Jungkook thinks there’s music) blasting in his room is speaking to him on a spiritual level.

Jungkook’s face is bright red when he finally breaks out of his trance, and he wishes he wasn’t so bad at reacting appropriately to inappropriate situations so he could at least have saved himself from adding a thirty-second clip of Nude Neighbour to his collection of non-digital memories. He rushes to the window and pulls the curtains close, fingers stiff as he tries to rid his brain of such scandalous images.

three pounds. that’s how much he’s gained since he last stepped on the scale, the dictator that rules over his life. he stares at the numbers again, frowning at the digits glaring up at him. perhaps there was a mistake; maybe the scale is rigged or jammed or simply broken. he couldn’t have possibly gained three pounds in a span of two days. hasn’t he been walking around his neighbourhood enough?

he sighs, stepping off the scale and turning around to flush the toilet before washing his hands. even the cold water burns his skin, and he wishes he could melt through the cracks on the floor. would he slim down then? would he finally be skinny enough?

“jimin!” he hears his mother call, and he forces his way from the sink, sneaking out his parent’s bathroom and into the living room outside. their apartment is small but cozy. jimin hates it.

Kim Taehyung has no regrets. Sure, he probably should’ve thought twice before he spent all of his money on BIGBANG merch just to show Jungkook that yes, he’s the bigger fanboy, and sure, he definitely should’ve listened to Jimin when he warned Taehyung that no, he shouldn’t eat three whole pizza pies by himself, but that doesn’t mean he regrets any of his decisions. Even though blowing all his earnings on people he’ll never meet did cause him to starve for a good or so month.

So, no, Jimin, he doesn’t regret running out of the shower butt naked when he heard her singing on her way to the second floor of their co-ed dorm, doesn’t regret shouting, “I love your voice!” before she screamed, “Oh my god, you’re naked!” And he definitely doesn’t regret yelling, “Oh, shit!” into Oblivion before sprinting back into the bathroom to resume the hot shower he abandoned.

“For fuck’s sake, Taehyung,” Jimin says to him once Taehyung’s finished recounting the story, the two of them lying side by side on Jimin’s bed. “You’re going to get us kicked out.”

“I should probably say hi,” Taehyung muses, blinking at the ceiling. “Do you think she remembers me?”

Jimin glances down, and snickers. “With how small your dick is, she probably does.”

SUMMARY

He is an angel; and she doesn’t need to see to believe. She fathoms his widespread wings as he gently picks her up, worriedly and urgently asking for her health, voice so soft it touches her skin like silk on smooth glass. His eyes must be crinkled in the corners, a smile stuttering through apologies, heart too warm for the human hand to touch. She imagines what he looks like, faintly deciding through his rapid Korean that he must be chesnut if not vanilla, not in skin but in connotation because he sounds and smells and feels like home.

Her pause is a millennia long, and she hears him repeat himself again, the sound of melting marshmallow oozing out of beautiful lips: “Are you alright?”

She produces a smile, feathery and light, eyes glassy and the world continues to remain black. “I’m fine,” she replies, and her voice is cracked from its lack of use; she hasn’t met anyone worth talking to in what feels like a century. Another smile reappears, much strained than what she’s used to, and she picks herself up from where the concrete lay, the dust falling from her voile skirt. “No damage done.”

SUMMARY/PREVIEW

There is a moment when time stands still. It’s fleeting, escaping the moment your fingers curl around it and pull. But it is during this moment happiness enraptures you with its warm hug as your heart thunders against your chest—the steady thump, thump, thump of a snare drum awakening. It is during this moment pain ceases to exist.

But after, everything will come rushing back.
