Y/AU/N - Your Among Us Name

I settle in my gaming chair, adjusting my webcam one last time before joining the Among Us lobby with my friends. 

“Hi everyone!“ I say into the mic, a smile plastering itself on my face. Discord is a magical thing, man. It’s so easy to forget that the people you are talking to aren’t around you or within arm’s reach. You could be separated by miles and miles of land or - in our case - oceans as well. Distance becomes negligible when you hear your friends’ voices, their laughter; when you have a good time together despite being each behind a screen, often times alone.

Well, I’m one of those lucky ones that isn’t alone. No one knows that, though. Everyone thinks I’m a single, self-employed girl that’s straight out of college. And they are 90% right. Only thing is - I’m not single. That would be a shocker in and of itself, but revealing who’s changed my relationship status would be a bomb with a whole new intensity.

Speaking of my significant other who shall remain unnamed - just kidding, it’s Corpse - his form materializes in the doorway of my recording room. I give him a hand signal the camera isn’t able to capture, alerting him of the fact that my mic is on. He replies by blowing me a kiss and walking off down the hall to his recording room where he’ll be stationed for the next three or so hours.

I owe this relationship to my best friend Sykkuno. I’m a pretty new and not very well known on the platform, however, thanks to him I haven’t only obtained a boyfriend, but a following of a little over million subscribers as well. 

It all started with an invitation to fill a spot in the Among Us lobby him and his friends had created. It took him quite a bit to convince me to join, but I eventually caved and agreed. Suddenly, there I was. In a Discord call, in an Among Us lobby with some of the most well-known names on this platform. I’m talking YouTube legends. I was that puppy playing with the big dogs. The newbie tagging along with the big leagues. Or at least that’s how I felt until we all started vibing - talking and teasing each other as though we’ve known each other for years and not minutes.

When I joined the call, Corpse wasn’t present. After everyone else introduced themselves, Sykkuno informed me that we were waiting for Corpse to return. The name sounded really cool to me and I was genuinely very excited to meet this Corpse guy.

And then, out of the blue - no prep, no warning...

“Did you get someone to fill the spot? Oh- Hello, Y/AU/N.“ 

…he started talking and he had me star-struck. Apparently, he also had me a blabbering mess cause I remember blurting out: “Whoa, who’s this guy speaking in bold and underlined at the same time?”

The entire lobby, including Corpse, laughed. Sean, or Jack like they called him most often, answered my question, “That is the voice of God, Y/N. Its source is named Corpse, though.”

Heat spread from the bottom of my neck to the tips of my ears. I was mortified by my own stupidity. I was well aware they couldn’t see me and I was incredibly thankful for that, but I simply could not get myself to open my eyes. “I’m so sorry.” I said through nervous laughter.

“No, no, I like that description. Bold and underlined at the same time, huh?“ His voice sounded even more pleasant when it had that teasing, mischievous note to it. That thought popping up in my head only made things worse for my self-esteem and only made me more embarrassed, causing me to hide my face in my hands. “You sure it’s not in Italics as well?“ 

His question got a weak laugh out of me. “Nope, definitely not. Nothing Italic about it.“

Yes, I don’t even know how some terrible jokes about MS Word fonts got me as far as a romantic relationship, but they did! We’ve been living together for quite some time now, dating for even longer - hiding it just as long. It’s not that we have been actively trying to hide it or something, we just wanted to see how long it would take someone to become sus of us. When we realized no one would notice, we decided that if any rumors about us started, or even fans shipping us, we’d come clean. That hasn’t happened either, so we haven’t had the proper chance to address our relationship and neither of us minds.

At this point, I’m honestly afraid of revealing it to the gaming squad. Sykkuno especially. He’s my best friend, after all. I can see him being hurt by the fact that I kept a secret so big even from him. The last thing I wanna do is hurt my best friend but it’s already too late for that, it’s inevitable.

“Y/N have you looked at Twitter today?“ Rae, another streamer I’ve become close with over the months, says urgently.

Overlooking the tension in her words, I answer: “Nope, haven’t had the time. Why? What’s up?“

Before Rae can say anything else, Sykkuno joins the conversation, his voice somehow even more urgent than Rae’s. “It’s nothing, Y/N. If you see it, just don’t let it bother you, ok?”

Hearing such a tone from Rae isn’t unusual, but hearing it from Sykkuno is completely different and a lot more worrisome. “Well if it has the potential of bothering me it can’t be nothing. What’s going on?”

Just then, my phone dings with two notifications. I check to see they are messages from Rae.

“I sent you screenshots. Sorry, Sykkuno. She has to know in order to address it and defuse it as well. I know better than anyone how fast these rumors can spread, especially if no one reacts to them.“ She says, her tone barely apologetic at all.

I open the screenshots she has sent me and I find myself frozen in shock. Some old pictures of Sykkuno and I have been posted on Twitter by some random user. These pictures have started an entire thread of suspicions surrounding our relationship.

The pictures in question are from a New Year’s Eve party a mutual friend of ours held two years ago. Sure, in the pictures we are a lot closer than what would be considered a platonic proximity. And yes one of the pictures is of me kissing his cheek. Yes we were both a bit tipsy. I acknowledge all those things and yet none of them are concrete reasons for these rumors to have started piling. 

“This is silly.“ I finally say after maybe five minutes of silence on my end. ”This is absolutely ridiculous! And why are people so serious about it as well? Actual, important matters get discussed more nonchalantly than the potential relationship between two online personalities! What is this world we live in?“ I know I shouldn’t let these rumors get to me like this, especially not on camera. Still, I can’t help it. I feel it’s so unfair to Corpse. He has to put up with this as well and it’s by no means easy for him. I’ve been shipped with people from our group in the past and he always took those rumors to heart despite acting like he didn’t care. Neither of us should get worked up, but him getting upset about them creates a domino effect with my emotions - causing me to be hit just as hard as him, in some cases harder.

Rumors of the past aside, this one is the worst by far. Mostly cause even Corpse himself suspected something between Sykkuno and I at the very beginning, when we were still acquaintances, barely crossing into the realm of friends.

I pull up Twitter to look for the whole thread, barely sparing my stream chat a glance in the process. It seems pretty split - those who agree with me and those who think Sykkuno and I make ‘such an adorable couple’. The thread is ridiculously long, and if we take into account that it was only started approximately five hours ago, you can either view it as impressive, amusing or sad. Why sad? Because someone has dedicated so much time and effort into fueling the fire of a weakly supported theory.

I love Sykkuno with all my heart. Everyone knows that - fandom, streamer squad, Corpse and Sykkuno included. I love too much and too platonically to ever even dream of having a romantic connection with him. I thought that was more than obvious, but people are either blind here, or just grasping at straws. One thing’s for certain - they’re stepping on a nerve.

“Hey where’s Corpse? Did he disconnect?” Felix asks, gaining my full attention. My eyes dart to the monitor, searching through the little avatars in a desperate search for the one of my boyfriend. It’s nowhere to be found.

“He just messaged me saying his connection is unstable but he might join us later.“ Rae says, “You guys can invite someone to fill...“

“Bathroom break.“ I interrupt, not waiting for a response before shutting my mic off, putting the ‘BRB‘ graphic on my stream and yanking the headset off. I basically run down the hall to Corpse’s recording room, my heart pounding like a bass drum.

“Corpse?!“ I call out to him, one hand already on the doorknob. When five seconds pass by without a response, I barge in. 

Inside, I find his usual spot on the gaming chair empty and his slumped figure seated on his bed.

“Corpse?“ I try again, watching for even the tiniest change of body language. He remains still as a statue, not bothering to look up at me either. 

His hands are gripping the edge of the mattress, his head hanging low. His eyes are covered by the short curtain of his dark messy curls. I can’t gauge much. Is he angry? Is he sad? Both? How should I approach the situation?

Before I find the answer to any of those questions, I am kneeling in front of him, our height difference eliminated. I gently pry his hands off the mattress and take them in mine, holding them firmly but tenderly. With one hand I reach up to tilt his head so his eyes can meet mine. He complies, his tear-filled brown orbs meeting mine. Those tears have the same effect on me as fifty sharp knives stabbing into my chest. These tears focus their attack straight on my heart, tearing it to pieces.

“Baby....“

He cuts me off, “Why is it always someone else, huh? Do they deem me not worthy of being with you? Do they think you deserve better?” His voice wavers, “Well, they might be right. They are correct and there’s little I can do to prove them wrong. They mean you well, Y/N - pairing you with guys better than me. Those are some loyal fans you’ve got. They only want what’s best for you. And so do I. If ‘best’ is being with someone else then...”

It’s my turn to cut him off. I put an end to his nonsense ramble that’s slowly killing me by pressing my finger against his lips. The sternness of my gaze is beyond me as I get up and walk over to his computer setup. I put on his headset and hop into the call as well as the lobby with his avatar.

“Hey Corpse’s back!” Toast says, “Good to have you back buddy.”

“No, not Corpse.” I say in a casual, nonchalant voice.

“Wait, wha-“ Sean’s voice shows just how confused he is, representing the confusion of the entire lobby actually.

“I know all of you are streaming so this message will be heard by several different audiences so I’m gonna make myself perfectly clear.“ I take a deep breath, “Sykkuno and I aren’t dating. He’s a lovely guy and he deserves to find a girl who will treat him right. That girl isn’t and won’t be me though. I am already treating someone right. Someone who treats me more than right as well. An amazing person. A man-child with a heart of gold. You know him, to a certain extent. He goes by the name of Corpse Husband, but I prefer to call him ‘Love of my life’. Thank you for your time and attention, goodbye.“

I exit the call and turn around to find a stunned Copse looking at me.

“That was meant for you just as much.“ I say with a fake strict attitude, one hand on my hip the other rested on his desk behind me, “Were you listening?“

Within milliseconds, he’s on his feet standing directly in front of me, his lips inches away from mine. “I heard and memorized every word. But...” he pauses for a moment, “I think you have no idea how big of a chaos you just created.”

I smile mischievously, “We’ll worry about that later. For now...” I close the gap between us, connecting our lips in a sweet and passionate kiss.

August Roundup

August felt like a lot of doldrums, as usual, which is nuts because I actually got out of the city for the first time in 0.75 years, and got to flee a hurricane in doing so. some actually decent-looking job opportunities helped with this at the end, but generally was feeling in a rut until literally last week. 

I’ve set aside Beckett’s trilogy for now, having been completely incapable of focusing on Molloy. I get that the formatting and structural choices are what makes that book interesting, but they’re also what makes it impossible for me to read at length. If there were line breaks, if the margins were even slightly uneven, I might have a chance, but alas. Was worried for a bit (as usual) that twitter use has caused harm to my attention span (and to be fair it almost definitely has), but then I started in on the Master and Margarita, which has been completely compelling so far! Wonderful book that I’m looking forward to reading more of! Top-tier The Devil depiction.

I’ll figure out Beckett later, in general the capacity to focus on things that are boring me is something I’d like to train back up.

I beat Sekiro after 65 hours, which probably means I’m going to be adrift for a bit wrt games while I recalibrate around not having this particular use of my time for a bit. Overall compared to Souls stuff, the highs were higher and the lows were lower. Dark Souls 1  made me angry only once, whereas Sekiro had me pretty routinely cursing at the screen. When the fights were good, though, they were all-time; enormously satisfying to learn and beat.

S.O. and I are in the middle of two tv/film-watching projects: 1.) Watching the entirety of the X-files, old and new, bad & good episodes, in order, no skipping; 2.) Chronological rewatch of comic book movies (specifically marvel), starting from howard the duck.

The superhero thing has been interesting, mostly in how fuckin much marvel’s audience allows them to get away with these days. You can really feel the intended audience for these shift over time. Earlier stuff was like comic properties adapted into action movies, alongside Sam Raimi being allowed to go nuts with the spiderman movies, with, like, x-men series then trying to ham-fistedly inject comic lore fanservice, because... that was the audience at that point. These were always popular, but they’re really properly mainstream now in a way they never used to be. The pandering’s all different now. Rewatching that Fantastic 4 movie and xmen 3, it’s like... I remember these being widely derided at the time, mostly by comics nerd people, but in hindsight, they’re just fucking mediocre. xmen3 in particular compares kind of favorably to later avengers, which is fucking hilarious. Other notworthiness: Ang Lee Hulk actually pretty good, Ghost Rider not nearly as funny as I remember it being, Blade 3 for some reason decided to not be a wesley snipes action movie in favor of being a ryan reynolds quip vehicle, Elektra is impressively bad and boring, Punisher is impossible to watch without thinking about that fucking logo and its connection with right-wing radicalism nowadays.

Speaking of, goddamn x-files, man. Slogged through the end of the old series, started in on the reboot, and the reboot mostly just throws into relief how much this show always sucked. it’s always been bad! The new seasons are structured and paced pretty much exactly like the old ones, and without the 90s-00s quaintness to offset things, the thing just doesn’t function. Critics writing retrospectives on the old seasons or writeups of the new ones mostly sound fucking ridiculous because they keep approaching with this reverence like it was ever a good show! The “myth arc” was consistently worse-written than the monster episodes, which at least were sometimes fun and compelling. No Payoffs! Right, the “Speaking of”, though. Much like Punisher can’t be witnessed without just thinking of militia goons, the first season of x-files reboot goes full-tilt antivax agitprop in the finale. They released that in 2016! Joel McHale plays a fucking Alex Jones type and they’re like “let’s have him be right, he is the truth-speaker against the government!”. On a more fundamental level, though, it’s a show that ended it’s original run with an honest-to-god mayan calendar 2012 hook, ended the first reboot season with a craAaAaAzy cliffhanger, then opened the next season with an “it was all a dream”. Bush-league work, start-to-finish.

I also rewatched The Lighthouse this month, which still absolutely rules.

Gale’s had a very good life so far. His father is a doctor and married one of his university friends young. Gale’s mother, a self-declared lazy person, decided to become a housewife who didn’t actually do any chores and played mahjong all day. Well loved by his family and constantly surrounded by friends, Gale grew up friendly, trusting and optimistic. Right now, he’s studying to become a vet so he can take care of sick/injured animals.

Personality:

Ever so slightly spoiled because he’s used to getting his way in everything. When he was a kid, he wanted a dog and when his parents said no, he went out and got himself one anyway. His parents were angry, but eventually caved into his begging. He is very kind and cares deeply for the well being of others. Likes to take care of people/things and has endless amount of energy and love to give. Quite insistent with his kindness, though, and sometimes pushes too hard for people to accept it. For example, if you don’t need someone walking you across the street but you are a 90-years-old lady, he might not take no for an answer! Naturally gravitates towards people who appear helpless, broke, hungry, angry, sad, or unlucky.

Some connections I am looking for are below the cut:

** Keep in mind, this is how my character sees you in his head, it doesn’t have to be true. For example, if he labels you as his angry friend, you might not be all that angry, just a lover of confrontation etc.

The happy-go-lucky friend: you two are very similar in terms of energy level and optimistic outlook on the world. Therefore, you naturally get along and spend a lot of time hanging out. You are probably Gale’s best friend, though he claims he loves everyone equally.

The grumpy friend: you scowl lots and was a bit prickly when you met Gale for the first time. He insisted on becoming your friend and you agreed...after he’d followed you around like a puppy for two weeks. You two had a really deep bond, and then he met the happy-go-lucky friend and started hanging out with that one more. You feel slightly replaced, but remain one of his closest buddies.

The lucky friend: When you two are separated, you have regular luck. Combined, however, you guys are unstoppable. For example, if you two buy sodas together, the chance of winning another is greatly increased. Whenever you go out as a duo, you get free samples and treats. Fate seem to support the friendship between you two and it is amazing!

The angry friend: You have a tendency to charge into battle and since Gale can never successfully stop you, he end up getting dragged in with you. Childhood friends. Your personalities are different, but you love each other lots.

The poor friend: No money in your pockets and down when it comes to luck, Gale is your comfort buddy and will always be there for you.

The crush: You are not really friends with Gale, but sees him in class. He seem to want to get to know you, but also keeps his distance when you actually attempt to give him attention. Lately, there’s a rumour going around that he is interested in dating your sibling, but unfortunately that really is just a myth - he’s actually into you.

Time to matchmaker: Gale greatly admires you and believe you’ll make an excellent match with his precious older brother figure.

Deathmatch: For a future universe, I really want someone he is friends with to engage in a life-or-death battle with him. I am okay with either party winning.

Unknowing rival: You two are rivals, only he is not aware of it. You see him as competition, but he sees you as a friend. You are trying to get him to focus on winning, but he wants to go play volley ball on the beach instead. Ugh, the frustration is real.

oh that's a huge improvement! I got rid of mine thru pure luck, and I've only had a handful since. last two had aura which freaked me tf out.

the city where I live has just under 100,000 students (not all at one uni) and when they arrived in September.. omg it was a disaster on so many levels. the way on-campus students were treated made national headlines lmao, there is an ongoing rent strike (which is spreading to at least 45 unis), off-campus / private accomodation students are not allowed to return but can't get out of contracts, teachers and TAs got next to no support to convert their courses to online and they feel awful about it too. I can't speak for other disabled students but I feel like I've had no support whatsoever, despite having somewhat complex needs. I live at home, so I haven't even had a chance to make friends either.

I don't think the regional government has done a bad job, but we've been under severe restrictions of one kind or another since March and everybody is angry and fatigued. the south (of england) has been screwing over the north for centuries tbh so this is nothing new :/

sorry for the rant I have a lot of feelings. how have your uni bungled things?

there was mostly just never any real obvious priority for students. there was no real checks or screenings when everyone first moved in and cases were out of control with several hundred new cases a week. they didn’t have enough space for quarantined students who lived on campus so they had to start outsourcing to two different hotels. too many in person classes no limits on people (I was supposed to have 90 people in one last semester, but my professor had to break us up into groups) there wasn’t good methods for transitioning to online learning for a lot of classes (anatomy is HARD to learn online only) and the professors had to learn a lot of new things. because of my health status I was able to get a private dorm but that also meant I could go days without leaving my room or seeing another person and my mental health was probably at its worst. we were allowed to come home for thanksgiving but forced to come back to campus for a week of in-person classes and finals which was dumb as hell. this semester we were required to have a negative test before moving back in but that doesn’t do anything to keep students from getting exposed elsewhere...

also this was the last straw for a lot of people and our school president: he’s always been well liked and uses his twitter a lot but he’s opened himself up to a lot of criticism when the best he can say is “mask up springfield” while our campus cases were out of control. (there was also the incident where there was potentially an active shooter on campus and his only tweet that night was a picture of him hanging out with friends on vacation in Florida... he never did address the situation.)

Reasons Why I’m Extra Pissed at JK Rowling

I am queer.

I am nonbinary.

“Nobody Should Have To Live In A Closet” was a huge part of that entire process of coming out and the mantra that drove part of that early advocacy.

The Harry Potter Alliance was a massive part of my entry into social justice activism.  The “Not In Harry’s Name” campaign was the first I participated in.  Accio Books was a driving force behind what eventually made me want to make sure our Really Really Free Market always had books and could always give books.  I sent books to Detroit and I was on a Slytherin House call with HOLLY FREAKIN’ BLACK and I was SO excited by that.  I remember when the broader Imagine Better group branched off from it and our various activism actions from that- being like Neville and learning to stand up to our friends, watching those who could bank calls for Marriage Equality.  Wands up for social justice.

The very first thing I ever wrote of any substance is a very long, very bad HP fanfic.  Some of my best learning as a writer has happened thanks to fic and it started with HP.  There was one I never finished that I REALLY wanted to get back to and now I can’t because fuck JKR.  It was an AMAZING concept.  Now I have to figure out if I can strip it of HP and recycle it into something else...but I am currently working on something like 4 other original works, so that’s getting shelved.  But I also don’t want to pull my old works down.  They meant a LOT to me, those first few fanfics I posted to fanfiction.net and later to AO3.  Seeing those things in print...they would propel me into other fandoms and to a million words posted and upwards.

And then there’s Sami.  She was a child with brain cancer who lost that fight.  She was the daughter of a friend of mine.  Driving to her funeral, the entire culmination of the community who had come together around her was on my heart and there was one big thought that kept resonating with me- there are so many more Samis and we have to let her death move us forward in our work...”I open at the close.”  I was going to get those words alongside a line drawing of the snitch on one arm and a line from Sami (in her handwriting with her little smiley face on it) on my other.  They were going to be a twin reminder to keep the work going and to stay the course with hope.  And fucking TERF JK Rowling has fucked that up because of her disgusting views and her terrible goddamned privileged condescending bullshit.

This goes well beyond hating on her because TERFs are gross.

This is anger because something that got me through some REALLY HARD SHIT in my life has been soiled.  A book series that brought me to writing, that brought me closer in some really incredible friendships, that allowed me to feel like I could dress up and still play, even as an adult, a book series that was there when I was coming out, that was there as I became an activist, and that I had hoped to share with my kids...all stained because of her shitshow.  Books I picked up in London during my study abroad semester, a set I had hoped to complete.  A movie I saw on a full-moon night...dun dun, dun dun, werewolves of London.....

A book series that had one line, one illustration, that stuck with me when a friend’s child DIED after a long struggle with a rare cancer, a line that tied into what the Reverend said at her funeral- that at the children’s hospital just down the street, there were so many more Samis- let her life be a message and her caring, her, “never give up, keep on smiling” move us to give those other Samis the fighting chance, too...and I feel like that line that I said to myself as I was driving to see her send-off has been just...cancelled.  (I’m still getting Sami’s words on my arm- guess the decision has been made for me as to which of the two to get done first after covid lets us leave the house safely again...so bonus, no more waffling on the “first ink” decision?)

I am hurt.

I am angry.

I am queer and pissed and I can’t just throw away the books or burn the DVDs or shed it because it is tied to so many things that I don’t want to let go of because of the power of the memories.

This is why some of us can’t just easily cut her off.

This is why some of us who are parts of the groups she wants to eradicate and erase are so deeply struggling and why it isn’t helpful to say that all trans and nonbinary and queer folks should just dump her like a hot sack of shit.

Maybe we should.

But that doesn’t mean we easily can and I think it’s worth recognizing that there are some really deep things here that people are going to struggle with and we’re not evil or wrong for struggling.

We may just be livid grappling with even more shit than we already had been with regards to her TERF bullshit and while we were working on how to approach it before, now we’re being told we have to move a lot faster and more decisively.

I don’t know the answer to this one.  I want her to have her Twitter banned and I want to see every charity she’s ever given to shun her.  I want to see her lonely on a pile of money no one wants to take and I want to see her screaming into a void where no one is willing to listen.  Remember that ending scene from “Merlin”- not the recent one, but the one from the 90s with Sam Neil?  When they all just walk away from Queen Mab while she’s hollering and going on and it just shrinks her power until bye bye Mab?  That’s what I want for JK Rowling.

And somehow, I want all the hurt and rage of the LGBTQIA+ folks who are struggling so hard right now with this to come crashing down on her so she can sit on her pile of cash in silence and in despair.

Too much love has been tied to these stories and now just look at where that’s brought us.

I rarely hate people, but...JK Rowling disgusts me in a way I rarely feel is justified.

The Same - Chapter 6 - Malcolm (3/8)

"Thank you. Ooh."

"You can stay for one more case." JT says, and Edrisa laughs at his comment. The mortician exhales slowly, and he knows that it feels like taking her first breath again.

Later on, the team sits in the debriefing room, a whiteboard with their evidence so far behind Malcolm. He sits at the head of the table, his mind immediately making a comparison to Adrisos.

Gil re-enters the room, a tan folder in his hand. Malcolm turns his chair towards him.

"Edrisa?"

"Is fine. Don't worry. She's already back to work. Got her tox screen." His mentor tells him, handing the folder over.

Malcolm opens it, looking over the information.

"The Boutsikaris were poisoned with metoprolol, a beta blocker." He winces.

"Nasty stuff. Killer used it to shut down their hearts."

"Well, they certainly had enemies. The family made their money in the shipping trade. You know how many shifty people they dealt with?" Dani gives them more information, leaning foward in her chair with her own folder.

"They have been involved in hundreds of lawsuits over the years. Government fines. They were even investigated by Interpol." Malcolm goes through more papers, absentmindedly nodding.

JT speaks up, making his own deduction. "Oh, family of snakes. Maybe that's the message. A business associate after revenge."

Malcolm shakes his head firmly, disagreeing. "No, this crime scene didn't feel like business. It felt personal, like it was directed at Aristos."

"Don't all murders seem personal to you?" The other investigator asks, and Malcolm sighs quietly. He knew this was going to come up eventually.

"JT, shut up." Gil tells him.

"You're a dick." Dani agrees with him, shaking her head at her partner.

Bright stands up fromm his seat, trying not to let the others see how his hands were shaking uncontrollably. "No. JT's right. We're-we're not gonna get anywhere until we move through this, so let's do it."

"Hi. My name's Malcolm Bright, but I was morn Malcolm Whitly. My father is Dr. Martin Whitly, one of the most notorious serial killers since Jack the Ripper. Killed 23 people, at least. All while raising me as the perfect dad." He gives a sardonic smile, pain evident in his eyes.

"Yes, he's a psychopath, but I'm not. I'm just me. What else can I tell you?" He asks, scanning each person's expression in the room.

"Was it, um like...Was it weird? Having a serial killer for a father?" Malcom stares at JT with a blank expression. Did he seriously just ask that?

Dani's head is in her hands, completely exasperated.

"....Yeah. It was super weird." He answers shortly, and JT doesn't respond. He doesn't seem to have any other questions.

Sighing, Malcolm turns to the board.

"Okay. Good talk."

"Now, back to those snakes. In mythology, snakes represent fertility, guardianship and vengeance." He holds up a finger for each reason.

"I'm-a take a wild guess and say it was vengeance." Dani takes her head out of her hand to asnwer. "At Aristos."

"Yes. Right. Our killer was so angry, he destroyed an entire family. We may be dealing with a family annihilator." Malcolm speaks like he would to children, mildly irritated at how long it was taking for everyone else to catch up with him.

"What's the MO?" He grins at Gil's police slang.

"Well, there are several classifications. The self-righteous blame their mother, the anomic fear financial ruin, the paranoid kill to protect their family from a perceived threat, the disappointed want love..." He had dealt with several profiles like this previously, and had studied them extensively.

"They're usually male, struggle with depression - and often kill themselves afterward." He brings his fingers to his lips. Pressing them there so they would stop shaking.

"..But not this one. Are we sure there aren't any more family members?" Malcolm looks up, an eyebrow raised.

"I'll circle back with the DMV, Social Security office." JT leaves, going to make calls and check records.

Malcolm's phone buzzes angrily in his pocket.

"You gonna answer that?" Gil questions.

"No." Malcolm swallows, staring straight forward.

"So, Aristos had another son?" Gil asks JT as the team walks into the gate leading to a strange warehouse.

"Yes, sir. Liam Hauser." JT tells him, as he had been the one to discover the information.

"He changed his name five years ago back in Greece after he and his dad had a falling out." The special agent processed this information. Hm. It seemed likely.

"He could be our family annihilator. Or the next victim." He tells the group, stopping and staring at the building.

"What is this place?"

"No idea, but the building's deed's in Liam's name." Dani answers him.

"….There he is." Liam was in the parking lot, putting a large container into the back of a car.

"Liam? NYPD." Gil introduced them with his badge.

Liam ooked up from what he was doing, closing the back quickly. Malcolm quietly noticed this, and the heavy duty gloves on his hands.

"You have a minute to answer a few questions?" JT asked, crossing his arms.

"Uh, yeah. Sure, what can I do for you?" Liam was displaying outwards signs of nervousness, which made Malcolm study him much more closely than before.

"Have you spoken to your family recently?" Gil took over the questioning.

Liam chuckled, the sound forced and high pitched. Definitely nervous. "No. Not in, like, five years. We're-we're not close. Why? What's up?"

"Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this.." Gil began.

Malcolm interrupted him, just wanting to get to the point. If Liam was their suspect (90% chance at this point), he already knew.

"They were murdered."

Liam falters. "Well, uh, like-like I said, I don't, uh.. Wait, do you not know who did it?" He asked, looking at each of them.

"Not yet. We were hoping that you could help us figure that out." Gil tells him, now all of them looking at his reactions closely.

"I-I got no clue. Like I said, I haven't seen them in years. What happened?"

"They were poisoned. And snakes were left behind at the scene. That mean anything to you?" Malcolm asks, looking into his eyes and searching for hesitance.

"No." His eyes drag down Liam's body, focusing on his gloves.

"Those are some pretty serious gloves you have there. Double Kevlar? Custom-made?"

Liam chuckles again, perspiration gathering at his brow. "Sorry, uh, do you mind if I just take a breather? This is just, it's all so…"

He took off running into the building, and JT and Dani went after him. Gil began to go as well, but stopped and considered Bright.

"Wait here." He tells him, and Malcolm rolls his eyes as the older man ran after the other two.

"Wait, wait. Hold up." Gil told them as he entered the building. There were incredibly strange sounds inside, and his brow furrowed. "What the hell is that sound?"

JT covered his nose with his sleeve. "What's that smell?"

Growling and twittering sounds filled the warehouse

"He's a black market animal dealer." Malcolm said, standing behind the group at the entrance.

"Damn it, Bright, I told you to wait." Gil hissed at him, but wasn't able to say much more when Malcolm took off running, looking for Liam.

The special agent ended up separated from the others, stopping briefly to gawk at a leopard.

A inkling of sympathy trickles through him. Malcolm had always liked animals more than people.

Shaking his head, he continues on to find their suspect.

He finds Liam fairly quickly, the man looking apprehensive and panicked.

Malcolm holds his hands up.

"Liam. We just want to talk."

Liam grabs a snake out of a nearby basket, and throws it at Malcolm. He tries to jump out of the way as Liam runs, but the snake latches onto him and bites.

He grunts loudly.

Not far from Malcolm, Dani stops. "Bright?" She asks.

Malcolm points left. "That way." He tells her, and she goes to tend to the newest team member as her partner went after the suspect.

"Uh.." She says as she points to the snake hanging off of his wrist. Malcolm pulls it off, laughing nervously.

"Bright." She exclaims, dropping next to him and hovering her hands over his wrist..

Malcolm hisses. "Ah.." He grunts as fire runs through his veins, managing a small laugh. "It's fine. Fine. It was just a small one. Probably not e.."

Dani wants to retort, tell him that the small ones are the deadliest, but as she opens her mouth Malcolm's eyes get hazy and he collapses back.

The female detective pulls out her phone, calling dispatch. "This is Detective Powell with the 1-6. I got a 10-13, I need an ambulance." She sets her phone down after, grabbing Malcolm.

Supporting his head and trying to keep him awake as his face turns bright red.

Malcolm can hardly see Dani, her words echoing through his ears. The pain is excruciating.

"Hey, Bright? Bright. I need you to look at me, okay? You're gonna be fine. You're gonna be fine."

He's hyperventilating, Malcolm realizes. His chest is rising and falling fast, too fast.

Dani tries to calm him down, but he knows he won't be conscious for too much longer.

"Breathe. Breathe. Bright." His eyes begin rolling back, body slowly shutting down. "No, no, no, no. Bright."

He's cold. So cold. Dani's hand behind his neck is his only sense of warmth. "Help is coming."

Malcolm's eyes close.

I met Him in a coffee Shop

Concert tickets hadn't been cheap and granted you and your best friend both worked full time jobs getting time and money to go to a concert was like getting a little slice of heaven for a few hours. The last concert you had went to you’d taken two days off so you could get up at 3am to stand in line so you could get a good spot in line because it was standing room only. This time you had balcony seating so showing up early wasn’t as crucial. Your best friend had insisted on showing up at 3am though. She wanted the full opportunity to watch all the members of Day6 walking into the venue and as she so carefully put it “ A chance to throw a punch at Jae.” 

She was absolutely convinced that Jae needed to be punched because of how mean he was to Wonpil. Of course You were there to stand guard at 3am and keep her rational and sane and keep her hands to herself. That was realitivly easy for you. No one really wanted to fuck with you. You were seated on the cement by the doors your eyeliner was two inches thicker than anyone else and your purple hair was intimidating to many. You were dressed cutely but your body language just screamed,” Fuck with me and I will fucking slaughter you.”  You had already chased off one crack cocaine dealer and you weren't afraid to do it again. You looked down at your huge t-shirt and mom shorts and converse yawning. Your best friend had fallen asleep her blond hair was pressed into your lap you poked her cheek and she swatted your hand away. 

“Nooder you gotta get up.” You sang her nickname softly you were watching the sun slowly rising and looking at the sun it was 6:02 Caribou was open now and just around the corner. 

“Not without coffee I’m not.” Nooder replied. You had to laugh because that was Nooder to a t. She was beautiful with curves and blond hair that could kill and makeup skill you wish you had but heaven forbid you woke her and she didn’t have coffee then she was a demon. 

“ Do I need to go get you coffee?” 

“Is that even a fucking question?” 

“Alright alright don’t bite my head off. Jesus. When I get back though you have to let me braid your hair because you aren’t going to meet Br-”

“YOUNG K.”

“YOUNG K. With a bedhead that would put a birds nest to shame.” You stood taking your phone and your wallet. You slid the pair of beaten down beats in your ears and Turned on your concert playlist. It was a mixture of old 90′s music Day6 and some of your favorite punk stuff.  The walk to Caribou was simple enough down two sidewalks and around a corner and your there. Opening the door was heavenly and you pulled your headphones out and stuck them in your wallet. There was a line of Men in suits. 

Men in suits didn’t make you uncomfortable but being the only one your age was a little unnerving. You nervously check your twitter hoping to see post from your favorite bands or even Jae. Things were realitvly quiet though and the line was slow moving as there were two men who seemed to be ordering for what looked to be like two whole offices worth of people.  They kept referring to their phones and then a piece of paper and then the dessert case. You almost felt bad for the poor Barista who looked like he just wanted to lay himself out on the counter and die despite having just two customers at the helm. 

You were watching the antics so you almost missed the tinkle of the door opening and the body slipping in behind you. There wasn’t a lot of room and you felt someone brush up against you. You turned around and you were face to face with none other than the Lovely Jae from Day6. 

Every nerve in your body was screaming and bursting with excitement. You thought about squealing and hugging him or telling him how much you loved him but then you caught the panic in his eyes. He looked genuinely afraid and you had to think about why. 

What would cause him to be afraid and then you realized, FANS. Fans go absolutely ballistic when they meet their idols. So you took a deep breath and took one step back and closed your eyes,” Sorry it’s a little crowded in here. They are a little busy at the moment. Don’t mind me.” 

His eyes grew wide and he looked you up and down. You knew you weren't exactly much to look at. The purple hair was growing back slowly and the t-shirt was large to hide your love handles and you wore mom-shorts which made you seem curvy instead of fat and you had converse that looked a little beat. Your makeup was more natural goth than it was cute and clique. You smiled warmly letting him asses you. “Wait your not going to scream or jump up and down? Ask me for a picture?” He asked his voice was different live than it was when you watched the youtube videos. It was warmer more pleasant. 

“Your here to get your morning coffee not to be harassed.” You reasoned your hand going to the coffee shop around you as if to explain where you are,” Unless of course do you want me to because I totally can make this awkward.”

“NO. NO. Getting coffee for me and the boys and not getting harassed is nice. Please.” He practically shouted and several pairs of eyes turned to glare at him and he cleared his throat. 

“ So what did those losers send you on a solo mission?” You teased trying to get him to relax. 

“ They are my losers thank you very much. And they are lucky I love them otherwise they would suffer. “ Jae does this thing where he pulls at the hood of his hoodie hoping to hide himself because a large group of girls saunters in dressed in Day6 gear and talking about Young K. behind him. 

“ Here switch spots with me but don’t turn around. Keep talking but don’t look at me just look at the Salmon suit that man in front of you is wearing.”  You whisper and his eyes grow wide. and he does exactly as you say. Once you switch your standing in front of the girls and they give you a puzzled look. 

“His mom’s sick, I’m letting him go ahead of me.” You reason and they roll their eyes bored and you snort annoyed. Then return your attention to Jae who is trying to get your attention with this cute little wave of his fingers at his hip. 

“What’s up?” you ask gently stepping closer so you can resume your conversation. 

“ I still don’t get why your helping me.” He reasons. and you can almost feel the questioning look,” I mean you know who I am and all do you want concert tickets or like wh-”

“ I don’t want anything Jae... My friend and I already have tickets to the show. We camped out at 3am so we can be one of the first few in...” You felt a little angry because Jae didn’t really know you and he didn’t know how hard you had worked to get those tickets with your best friend. “ I am perfectly comfortable enjoying it in the seats I’m in. I don’t need a picture, I brought my camera I can take plenty tonight. I simply want you to feel like a normal  human being who doesn’t have to hide for once. Your out buying coffee for your friends enjoy the experience.” 

You look at your hands and Jae is silent probably looking at the menu because the line has moved. You let him take his time as you step unto the barista who waves you forward. 

“How can I help you?” She asks she is pretty in the very exotic way, but you don’t realtivly care your minds made up. 

“I need one Campfire Mocha Cooler and One Carmel Macchiato Hot both large. And you see the gentleman in the hoodie whatever he orders put on my Bill and I will pay for it. Don’t tell him but make sure this twitter handle makes it on to one of the cups.” You set down your twitter handle that you have for some dumb reason written out on a corner of a piece of paper. 

“Are you sure Miss?” 

“Posestive.” 

The barista smiles and she pulls the person who is taking Jae’s order aside and tells him to write it all out and then clear the screen and add it to the register with my order. I watch as Jae orders all the coffee and a couple more sweet treats. He makes sure that the coffees all have names and the bags all have names on them and the barista keeps him busy with that while I pay. 

“Which cup does the twitter handle go on?” she asks as she hands me the change from the hundred I gave her and Jae steps up to the counter to pay. 

I whisper quietly to her “JAE” and go to stand where they are supposed to pick up orders. 

I can see the confused look on Jae’s face as he hears that his order has been paid for already. You had been planning on buying a t-shirt but those can be bought at anytime. Today you had done a good deed.

Jae came to stand in front of you confused,” Someone paid for my coffee. Is that a normal thing that people do around here?” 

You laughed a hearty laugh and the group of girls was starting to pay more attention to Jae,” It’s not but some people do it out of the kindness of their heart. It looks like your peaceful morning might be ending soon...” Jae looked panicked and your heart ached for him.” I have an idea play along okay?” 

Jae nodded fearcly and you gently snaked an arm forward to fix his hood again so it was hiding most of his face and then you wrapped an arm around his neck and he wrapped his arms around your waist gently and you were hugging. “ I hope your mom gets better honey. I know it’s hard but it will be okay.” You said loudly and all the girls stopped staring so you continued only loud enough for them to hear,” Im sure your family will appreciate the coffee and sweet treats. Now if you will excuse me I have my own demon to feed” and your plan worked the girls backed off. Your order came out right as you let go and you waved a small smile appearing on your face. Jae’s order came out and he gathered it all in his arms but you were to far gone for him to chase you and you had never even told him your name.

JAE

She was gone and I was left looking at the order sitting on the counter. She had been so weird. At first she had looked so shocked like she might just jump out of her skin and then all of a sudden it was like she had been taken over with this deep sense of calm. 

Calm was something he wasn’t used to and that had been terrifying. Yet when there had been a pack of girls all wearing DAY6 memorabilia and squealing about Young K., she had simply said “ Here switch spots with me but don’t turn around.” and it had worked he had been able to get coffee and sweet treats for the rest of the band without having to deal with screaming fans or photos. He didn’t have to cover his ears or apologize for not wanting his photos taken or have to leave early because it was disrupting the business. He was able to have a simple normal experience in the coffee shop. 

So when he was back in the room with the boys who all looked like they were in dire need of caffeine he set everything on the coffee table and then laid down in the first available space. 

“Whats wrong with him?” Bob asked

“You guys realize going to get coffee is a challenging tasks especially when we have fans crawling all over the city.” Wonpil challenged looking slightly concerned as he picked at the drinks and looked at the names,” You wrote pillow on mine again Jae...” 

Jae was silent staring at the ceiling thinking about the purple haired girl and the hug and how she had helped him escape. 

“I think he’s broken.” 

“ Shut up. Im not broken... I just.. I actually was able to get coffee and not have someone screaming and taking pictures...” Jae groaned his hands rubbing over his face as he turned to look at the boys who had all by now found their designated coffee and baggie. “ I didn’t even have to pay for it.” 

“JAE YOU STOLE OUR BREAKFAST” Wonpil said his mouth full of brownie 

“NO! Someone bought it for us!” Jae said his mind going back to the girl with purple hair. 

“I am extremely confused now.” Bob looks at Jae and lifts his legs so he can sit comfortably on the couch and enjoy his coffee and his Sandwhich. 

“There was th-” 

“Jae why is there a twitter handle on your drink?” Young K. asks he’s holding the drink high and looking at the twitter handle written in blue pen it’s legible but just barely. 

Jae shoots up and takes the drink from Young K. looking at the twitter handle he pulls out his cellphone and goes directly to his twitter. 

“What is he doing?” Wonpil asked 

“Bob, I think something made him go crazy...Can you fix him?” Young K teased 

“WHEN WILL THAT JUST DIE?” Bob groaned loudly. Jae doesn’t even notice he is typing in the twitter handle as fast as allowed and pressing search. Of course your twitter profile pops up right away and there is a picture of your best friend wrapped in a blanket holding the coffee from the caribou looking like she wanted to kill people. 

Then because he can he presses follow and then he writes a message taking a drink of his coffee a smile settling on his face.

When you get back to Nooder she is sitting up and looking like someone poked her with a sharp stick. “ Someone is awake.” You sang softly handing her her coffee and pulling out one of your earbuds. You take a picture of her as you watch her sip the coffee and then grimace and look at the sun,” Still not ready to face the day?” you ask casually and you take a drag from your own drink. 

You open your twitter and upload the photo with the caption “ MY LITTLE DEMON DEMANDS CAFFINE” #Day6concert #theshitwedofortheseguys

“Young K.” She responds. 

“All of this is for your lovely and beautiful Young K.” You sigh taking a seat next to her as she. She puts her head on your shoulder. 

“I will jump off the balcony if he even so much as looks at me.” She clarifies. 

“It’s a good thing I brought handcuffs. So I can cuff you to your chair.” You snort

“I will take the chair with me.” 

“ I will be holding on to said chair. So your gunna be pretty stuck.” 

“You are absolutely no fun.” 

“Your right I am completely and utterly boring.” You smiled and opened your twitter again. Your phone had dinged with notifications. People had been asking you for updates since you showed up so you weren’t thinking about how you’d left your twitter handle for Jae to find. 

You had one new private message though and opening it you saw it was from Jae and your breath caught in your throat it read : 1st you help me get out of the coffee shop without being noticed then you paid for me and the losers breakfast. Who are you? 

You groaned and your best friend looked at you puzzled,” What’s wrong with you now?” 

“Jae...” 

“I know he’s always picking on my pink pillow... You finally ready to help me punch him?” Her eyes are hopeful and bright and the blanket is wrapped around her shoulders revealing the bedhead and your trying not to laugh at how ridiculous it looks because she looks serious and ridiculous all at once. 

“No, your not punching anyone.” 

“Why not?” 

“Because we don’t hit people.” 

“But he’s a dick.” 

“ I think the boys are aware of that and they take care of themselves.” You think back to how he so carefully had the Barista writing the names on cups and picking out the sweet treats and goodies from the desert case and having them put in baggies and labeled so carefully. 

You responded to Jae : I’m a Fan. Shouldn’t you be saying THANK YOU? Where are your manners? 

Nooder takes a long gulp of coffee and then she puts her head on your shoulder. “You realize this is going to be the funnest day of our lives right?” 

“More fun then when Micheal Clifford licked his lips and made sex eyes with you at the 5 Seconds of Summer concert?” 

“ I told you we weren't ever going to talk about that again.” Nooder says sitting up and pulling herself out of the blanket to stretch 

Jae Messages again and you chuckle opening to read: THANK YOU. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? 

“WHAT are you so chipper about over there? Shouldn’t you be braiding my hair?” Nooder says and you pop your little weird world bubble and you look at your best friend and try and decide how to tell her that you met the band member she wants to punch. 

“Give me the brush then damnit.” You instruct as you type back to Jae in all lowercase letters 

: why are you yelling? i was never upset to begin with. lul 

Nooder sets the brush in your hand and you shove the phone in your pocket and stand so her head is level with your waist. Your pocket buzzes and Nooder ever observant doesn't fail to notice you keep focused on brushing and sectioning off the hair letting her speak,” Okay so what is up with you and concerts and Twitter feeds?” 

“What do you mean me and concerts and Twitter feeds?” you respond sectioning off the last of the hair and gathering a large section in your fingers. 

“ YOUR PHONE, since we got here that thing hasn’t really stopped flashing or buzzing or whatever you have it set to do.” Nooder says trying to turn to look at you but you yank her head back into place gently and she grumbles taking a sip of your coffee,” and it’s been even worse this morning.” 

“Okay so people follow what I do on Twitter, all I do is take pictures of how long the line is and give like a countdown till showtime. Some people love it, other people hate it. I get lots of questions. It’s the day of the concert it’s after 6am I went and got coffee. I updated how close we were to the door. That you were awake. All the normal stuff.” You reasoned as you grabbed a patch of hair and wove it into the other strands,” I need you to hand me those gems and flowers now.” 

“Are you sure you know what your doing?” Nooder sounds anxious 

“Trust me. I went to beauty school long enough for this.” 

“Fair.” She hands up the bucket with all the red and pink gems that she had picked out and you grab a few of the flowers making sure they will look elegant instead of trashy before you start working them into the braids. 

“So what if I told you I met someone this morning in the coffee shop?” You asked experimentally grabbing a gem and shaking your head not liking the placement. 

“Was he wearing a suit?” 

“No.” 

“That’s right your not into the whole suit thing... Was it the Barista? I heard some of the other girls as they walked by saying he was cute.” 

Your phone buzzed again and your were trying not to laugh or smile to hard,” Are you talking about those hard core Brian fans.” 

“BRIAN I ONLY KNOW YOUNG K.” There was a resounding chant but Nooder was the one leading the chant coffee in the air. 

“No, It wasn’t the barista either. In fact I kinda helped this guy out of a bind.” You finally placed one of the gems and looked pleased your phone buzzed again and you rolled your eyes,” he’s kinda nosey to be honest.” 

“Y/N Please tell me you did not find some cheesy hipster guy in a coffee shop and rescue him....” Nooder is trying not to wail,” those get clingy and you can't get rid of them.” 

“I don’t  think your going to want me to get rid of this one...”  you sang back softly tying off the braid and reaching for your coffee and your phone to open up your messages on Twitter 

two were from Jae and the third was from a fan who had seen him follow you and was angry : What kind of whore thing did you do to get Jae to follow you? I bet your not even a real fan. 

Jae : why are you so nice? 

Jae: The losers want to say thank you for breakfast could we come see you in line- if you won't let me give you VIP passes? 

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN IM NOT GUNNA WANT YOU TO GET RID OF THIS ONE? OF COURSE I AM HES PROBABLY A CREEPY.” Nooder is changing under the blanket into her Day6 concert outfit, loudly ranting about how Jae is probably a serial killer hipster. While you type out your response.

YReponse: Im not sure that’s a good Idea either. 

His response was instant 

Jae: Why not? 

YResponse: My best friend wants to punch you because your mean to Wonpil. Plus there are lots of fans out here. 

Jae: OH COME ON! The guys a walking bucket of Jokes. Besides the point the Losers still want to express their thanks. 

YResponse: I am not going to put any of you in jeopardy before the concert. I’m not the only fan here you know ;)

Jae: You are impossible 

YResponse: No I’m Like Bob the Builder. CAN WE FIX IT? No we can’t. 

Jae: So your not letting any of us come outside because your friends wants to punch me?

YResponse: Pretty Much and I don’t want you mobbed. :) 

Jae: Tell your best friend I loath her. I will find you tonight at that concert. I swear and you will be receiving VIP passes. 

YResponse: Let the hunt begin :) 

“ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING RIGHT NOW? I just told you half a dozen ways this guy could gut you and put you in the freezer in the woods and your standing there looking at your Twitter like a dreamed up school girl.”  Nooder is on a roll and she’s full dressed drinking her coffee like it’s some kind of Liquor and you can’t help but chuckle. 

“ The last thing on his mind is stuffing me in a freezer. See for yourself.” You hand her your phone and she takes it her eyes scanning over the text and at first she is quiet reading along. So you lean against the wall counting down in your head the moment your peace will end. You sip your coffee and watch as she drops your phone straight onto the blankets you made your base camp in. 

“YOU DID NOT?!?!”

“I did.” 

“No you didn’t this has got to be a fake.” 

You chuckle and pick up the phone and send Jae a message : Loathing one the BFF doesn’t believe me need a live twitter feed of you and losers talking about what happened in the coffee shop this morning. 

Jae: I can do you even better.  #FINDTHEGIRL #WENEEDTOTALK

YResponse: You wouldn’t Dare

Jae: I would. Hunts on :) 

YResponse: Maybe I should let her punch you

Nooder was watching you type this all out and Jae’s quick responses. 

“You aren’t lying are you?” She’s breathless.

“No. Why would I lie your my best friend.” 

“ You don’t want me to punch him.” 

“Because he has a concert and he’s human too. You tell me all the time about how Idols ask to be treated as human beings instead of like these aliens or figures that you can’t touch. “ You reasoned 

“Yeah but at the same time they are so different from us, their skills are a whole new level. It’s a different world than ours.” Nooder claimed 

“This morning when I saw Jae and he realized I recognized who he was, you should have seen how scared he was... How much he wanted to run right out the door and just be gone. So I stopped. Hey guys, long time no post (sorry, life has hit me like a bus, I hope I can make it up to you guys soon)

So, I'm sure a lot of you, if not all of you, have seent he trailer for the reboot of our greatly loved and cherished show by now.

I know a lot of you are not happy what what we've seen (so far) and that's totally fine and I can respect that. I get exactly where you're coming from. I have a few things I want to say about the whole situation.

But I have also seen so much hatred towards the new cast members. Especially for the fact they are not white. And I am seriously disappointed. You have every sing right to be mad the original cast is not back and that the networks did not listen to your views and opinions, but a lot of you need to chill the f**k out.

I've seen so many racist comments and sh*t about these ladies. That's not cool. Honestly, f*ck y'all for that. As a latino, I am so sad that so many of you will weapnize these girls skin colors and ethnicities into your anger and outrage over a damn show to. It's bullsh*t and I am sick of it.

Most of y'all are bitter the original cast/story is not in the reboot, I get it and tbh I was too at first, but c'mon, who wants to watch the same story over again. Besides, we all know, as of 2018, no matter what the og cast as said, they are not on good terms and a revival/reunion is just not going to happen. These girls are not to blame for it.

And another thing. Being a latino, I know first hand, that not all latino people look the same. Hell, my siblings and I look NOTHING alike. We come in all colors. So for you people saying Macy is "too black", y'all need to chill the f**k out alright. Alyssa is most definitely not the same shade as Shannen/Holly/Rose but y'all never complained about that. Shannen literally has nearly black hair and blue eyes, nothing like the other women on the show. And again, I heard no complaints? Not all races and ehtnicities look the same. As someone who has gone through life hearing people tell me I am "lying" that my siblings are my siblings because they have darker skin than me, it makes me sad that you'd imply that people cant look different and be related. Also, that you would use something such as race as a weapon against someone. That’s royally f*cked up.

Btw, for you folks who think this show is "propaganda" and "pc" because the cast is not white, shut up, white is not the default. Everyone deserves inclusion. A story can be told through different races/genders/sexualities/etc. Get a grip.

It just makes me super angry that these girls, WHO HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG BY THE WAY, are being targeted with racial slurs and sh*t. Stop, be respectful, and don't be a racist, it's not that hard.

Now that is out of the way.

You can hate this new show (though let's be real you have yet to see it, a trailer cannot do an entire show, that hasn't even been filmed yet, justice), that is well and fine. You have every right. Do you. But don't attack these girls for doing their job. They are all clearly really excited about it, give them a chance to show you what they come up with.

I also want to ask that charmed fans out there, be respectful of others who have a different opinion of the new show. You don't wanna watch it? Don't. You don't like the new story? Cool, great for you. You wish they brought the old cast back in some way? Me too, but sorry guys, it's not gonna happen. But don't go telling or charmed fans they are fake or disrespectful for wanting to check the new show out or supporting it, that's childish adn you aren't some snowflake for being "OG CHARMED ONLY!!! THE ORIGINAL POWER OF THE THREE IS THE ONLY POWER OF THREE!!! THIS IS SJUST A BAD COPY!!!" Ya, cool for you, go eat a snickers and watch the original show.

This show does not negate/erase the old show. Let me repeat, THIS SHOW DOES NOT NEGATE/ERASE THE OLD SHOW. The original show will still be there. It always will be.

If this reboot sucks and crashes & burns, guess what? The original Charmed will still be there.

If the new show does great and gains a great group of fans, old and new, guess what? THE ORIGINAL CHARMED WILL STILL BE THERE.

Let's at least give this show a try. It is a new and fresh spin on the original story.

I've also seen a lot of you complain about the trailer, and cool, you can do that, but don't claim these girls are "terrible" actresses from ONE teaser trailer of a PILOT. Give them a chance The original pilot for the original show was awful, not just some of the acting. Don’t base an entire show off of a pilot trailer, or even a pilot for that matter.

As for people saying the cgi is “bad” and was better in the 90′s version, lmao y’all are just salty and lying let’s not even front. But still, they JUST got a budget from being picked up, give them the opportunity to impress you. CGI has come a long way, I’m excited to see what the magic looks like in this one.

One thing I don't like the "feminist" angle they are pulling with the new show, that is no fault of the actresses, blame the cw for that choice of wording, because we all know damn well that the original show was all about feminism for it's time. This is a new time, feminism changes with time, I hope people understand that. Many will argue the original show wasn't as feminist as it could have been, of course, I agree, but in the time that it was, if was very much feminist. Don't let these new headlines about the new show being big on feminism, diminish the fact the original show was all about strong and powerful women that supported other women.

I know some of the old cast is not on board with the show, that's fine, they have every right. But you don't see them attacking these ladies for telling their charmed story with this new show, so you shouldn't either. Wish them well. Shannen and Holly both have, despite Holly not being in very big support of the show, she wished them well. It's called respect you guys, c'mon.

Let them have their shot. Shannen/Holly/Alyssa/Rose got their shot, let these ladies have theirs.

Be respectful. If you don't like something, or even everything, about the new show. Totally cool, 100%, but don't attack these women on twitter and be d*cks about it. The original show didn't go anywhere, it is not erased. Just say your piece, respectfully, and move on.

And I'm not here to start up arguments. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong, everyone has right to opinions. But even still, you don't need to be cruel about it. Don't go trying to make these girls lose their jobs they are really excited about and their show cancelled, y'all are being petty.

And a lot of people are angry that the new cast said they haven't seen the old show. Though I'm sad they haven't, mainly because I want them to feel the magic I felt growing up watching it, which I'm sure a lot of you can relate to, it doesn't mean they are being disrespectful to the original because guess what? This is  a new show (WAHH, OMGGG??? WHO KNEW) These new characters have nothing to do with te characters from the original show. I don't see what people are so stuck on that. It's like you cannot grasp the point of the show being "another take" on the original story, it's not that hard to understand.

I mean let's be honest, if they  tried to be too much like the original, y'all will roast and complain. If they don't make them anything like the original, y'all will still complain. It's a lose/lose situation when you're bitter about it. If you go into it with an open mind, you might like it. And might not and that is okay.

If you love the original charmed so much, great, go watch it, tweet about, tweet the stars about it and tell them how much you appreciate and love these characters (without attacking the new characters/show). But don't belittle these new ladies and tell them they are "ruining" the og show, because they are not. And be respectful to them, wish them well, if you'd like, and move on. Don't have something nice to say to them, don't say a god damn thing at all to them.

Also, if these ladies block you on social media, I'm about 98% sure you deserved it. The charmed fans I have seen, are being cruel to these ladies, without any reasoning and it's not cool. Don't be a brat because you didn't get your way with how things turned out. Wish them well and move along.

But I hope that you guys welcome this new show and it's cast with an open mind and open heart, I know a lot of fans will. But I also know some won't. I hope they do though because hey, they just may surprise you.
