“Do you really think Law and I make a nice couple!”
Shocked – Sanji just stared blankly at you, fish still in hand. He didn’t even know what to think or say, so he just smiled. He smiled so brilliantly; you knew if he answered yes, it would crush you into a million jagged pieces. Little jagged pieces that had no chance of ever being put back together – it would be better off to just throw them into a forgotten drawer, where you only ever look for lost things. The kitchen door bumped into your back as it closed and Sanji placed the fish into the freezer, closed it and covered up the barrel of fish. He walked over to the sink and washed off his hands, finally using a kitchen cloth to dry them; he turned to you, hand on the kitchen island.
“I think the two of you make sense – he’s definitely the serious type but I could see you two going for the long haul.”
Fuck you, that’s what you wanted to say but foul language directed at Sanji tasted wrong. Instead, holding your composure, you moved to the opposite side of the island and stared at him. He stared back but quickly withdrew and apologized. “For what?”
“The other night,” he said. “I was insensitive when you were pouring your heart out to me. You have to know I – I didn’t mean anything by it.”
By what? Even if what he had said about Pudding was true, why did he have to say it out loud? Why couldn’t he have kept it to himself? Because in your mind, he was going to marry her, and he did spend time with her – you knew about the cake they made together. How easily it would have been for Pudding to put aside her wicked ways and fall for Sanji. How could see not see the kindness in his eyes and smile? How could she not have fallen in love with him as you have? She’d be a damn fool.
You were a damn fool.
“You remind me of my father, Sanji.”
The statement earned a shameful expression from the cook because he knew how your father was from the stories you’ve recounted to him. During the late-night sessions sitting in the aquarium room; dim lights above the glass filling the room as you exchange horror stories. Sometimes, most times, the two of you would fall asleep on the divan that was up against the glass. Then in the morning, Sanji would make coffee and you would keep him company as he made breakfast for the crew. He had cherished those talks but now it felt like it was all slipping away. He wanted to light a smoke, but it seemed like the wrong move, even if it would have calmed his nerves.
“The two of you share the same charming swagger, romantic notions easily roll of your tongue.” You glanced down at your hands, turning them over to study your palms – permanent faded scars imprinted onto them. Evidence from the lashes your father would give when you took too much of a breath. Staring back at Sanji, you heaved a sigh. “He swore up and down that he loved my mother, I have these tads of memories of that being true. Seeing him shower her with flowers and poems, he was an amazing singer. He’d sing her these longing ballads, dance with her in the middle of the kitchen…but the façade slowly fell…”
Sanji couldn’t move; now at his side, hands clasped against his slacks. He stared at you, heart aching for the child you once were – eyes darting to your hands. He had noticed the scars before and when he had asked, you had changed the subject. Now he realized that your bastard of a father had done that to you; a fire burned through Sanji’s body and if he hadn’t already been dead, he would have hunted him down. Killed him. Torture him with a slow death - a deserving death but he knew, deep down, you would have never allowed it. You were too kind. “You’re a lot like my father, Sanji. All the good parts. So charming and sweet, doting, and silly…”
Your hand moved alongside the kitchen island as you moved around it, stepping right in front of Sanji. He towered over you a little, eyes on you, waiting, heart pounding. He wasn’t sure what to say or if he should say anything at all, but you were so close and all he wanted to do was hold you in his arms. Hold you safe until the world ended and only then would he relax knowing the two of you would go to death together. That’s all he wanted, he knew that now, but fear gripped him still.
“The difference between you and him is that he indulged in the darkness inside him. He allowed himself to become mean, but you don’t have that in you, Sanji. There is not an ounce of darkness inside that heart of yours. Why do I know this? Because we are one of the same – we fear the same things.”
Stunned, he wasn’t sure you really understood the fear that beheld him; nights when he was alone, sleeping in bed, all he could ever think about was turning into a monster. Like his father and brothers. Then after using the raid suit that seemed to awaken…everything his father was hoping for when he was a child. That had scared him so badly he made Zoro promise to kill him if his humanity slipped away. He had to ask the swordsman because he was the only one that would do it – even with all the bickering, there was mutual respect. He knew Zoro would follow through with his code of honor, even if it meant never seeing you again – anything to keep himself for being a monster…of hurting….
“To love someone so much you hurt them, that is my fear. I don’t want to become a monster like my father – loved my mother so much he could only damage her. Tell me, Sanji, what is your fear?”
Your fingers shook against the counter, eyes fighting back tears. Emotions weaken your every breath, but you need to hear it out loud. Needed to hear him say it out loud. Tears formed in the man’s eyes, and he let out a deep breath, gathering up the courage but why did it feel so hard? Why were the words lingering in the back of his throat? Why was this harder to say to you? He felt dizzy and God, he needed a smoke but instead he thought of the small child he once was. The pain his family inflicted onto him and how he survived it all because of the two women in his life – his mother and sister. The kindness in their hearts kept him going and allowed him to escape that horrible place. His sister, Reiju, told him he’d find kind people in the world and how right she was – because he did find his kind people, he did find his family.
“I don’t want to become a monster like them.”
A tear fell from his eye, and you reached for his hand, telling him to look at you. He did, eyes shaking as you held his hand tenderly. “The greatest thing that ever came from that family is you – don’t you see that? How can such a lightness like you become a monster? Can’t you understand that? I need you to understand that, please.”
He started to cry, and you moved to him, closing in on the miles of space that seemed to have formed between you for some time now. Without hesitation, he moved down into your arms; falling onto his knees, he buried his head into your stomach. Holding back tears of your own, your fingers ran through his hair as his arms draped around your waist. Soothing his sorrows with each stroke of your fingers, you whispered his name. His head moved back to look up at you, eyes soft, sad. Touching his face, with bated breath, you told him he could never be a monster. “…and if by the grips of hell, you do. I’ll become a monster too and we can go into the darkness together.”
I love you, that’s what you were saying. He knew it in his heart, as he stared up at your melancholic face; you were sad for him, sad for yourself but that was the world, wasn’t it? Oh, God, what a fool he had been! All this time, you were right there in front of him but…that was why he had gone with his family, agreed to the marriage. Keeping his family safe from the family that rejected and neglected him; he wanted to keep Luffy, the others, you, safe. The thought of anything happening to any of you, that had been true fear, but he was an idiot. He should have had faith in Luffy, faith in you from the beginning. It was clear now, the depths you would have gone for him because there was no corner of the world he would not have gone to, to save his family. To save you.
Closing his eyes, he let out a deep breath and stood up; knees heavy, feet firming on the ground and before he could give into nerves – he took your face into his hands and kissed you. It felt like the air shifted; everything that made no sense, suddenly made complete sense. Arms slipped around his shoulders, fingers gliding up his neck into his hair; the small action sent things in motion. Before you could understand, Sanji had you leaned up against the counter, hands down at your waist. His lips captured yours and no amount of strength could pry them away. He groaned into your mouth, and you tugged at the buttons of his slacks – that’s when he paused. Breathless, for the second time of the day, he examined the expression in your eyes, and he asked if you were sure. “This isn’t exactly where I would have wanted…”
“This is perfect,” you murmured, nodding ferociously as he leaned in for a kiss. He laughed, forehead against yours, hands idly at the hem of your blouse. What if someone comes in, he asked, and you grabbed him by the chin. “Let them watch, I don’t care, Sanji. I’ve wanted this for so long, I’ve wanted...you.”
Tears started to well in your eyes and he lightheartedly chuckled, wiping the would be tears from the corner of your eyes. “No more crying today, let me show you how much I love you.”
The last three words left his mouth effortlessly and an aching erupted between the two of you. Mere seconds was all it took for Sanji to push aside everything that was on the kitchen island; his usual tidiness nonexistent as he helped you onto the counter. His limber fingers undoing the green kimono Nami had brought you. The silk felt cool against his skin and when he pulled off the garment, his eyes took in the sight before him – you were on your back, wanting him in all the ways one could want someone. He climbed onto the counter, using his right knee to separate your legs further. He was nervous but it was an exciting nervousness as he drifted down to you. He pulled himself out and you touched his shoulder, looking up at him with such strength, he could feel the fire inside you. It was all for him, and he knew right there, above the flesh of your love – he would live every day knowing he deserved you.
He deserved this, god damnit, he did.  And when he finally pushed into you and you withered under him, he knew it would be all fine. If somehow, he did become a monster – he knew you’d be right alongside him, monsters together; and if that wasn’t love, then what was?
…..
The bonfire was warm; the sound of Brook’s violin playing joyful music filled the air. Franky and Usopp were lighting fireworks and you watched as they cheered each other on, clapping and hooraying. Smiling, you leaned back into Sanji’s chest, his arms wrapped around your waist. His fingers were clasped together at your stomach and your hand was on his; his chin resting on your shoulder. Zoro was drinking alongside Jinbei, both lounging on chairs near the fire. Luffy had Otama on his shoulders as she pointed out all the different colors of the fireworks, Nami right by their side. Robin was sitting next to where Sanji and you stood, handing Chopper pieces of candy every so often – the pair enjoying the light show as the others.
“This feels nice.”
Turning your head to look at Sanji, you agreed, kissing him softly on the cheek. “I can’t believe we leave tomorrow…”
“Yeah, and I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. We’re going to have a hell of ride from here on out.”
He was right; there was so much more left to be explored. So many more people to fight, people to help along with every one’s personal goals – all this leading to Luffy being the King of the Pirates. It wasn’t an if, it was a when and you were ready for the journey, for the fighting and most importantly, for moments like this. Surrounded by the people you loved the most – a family brought together by one young pirate. Sighing, you asked Sanji if he had everything he needed for the next adventure. He knew you meant supplies wise, but he held you tighter, and said all he needed was right in his arms.
“Smooth,” you whispered, and he laughed, moving off your back. He stretched and nodded to someone past the bonfire – a familiar face. It was Law, standing next to Luffy. After the kitchen affair, Sanji and you laid on the counter, tangled and sweaty. He was perched up on his elbow, other hand on your stomach, cigarette finally in his mouth. He made invisible circles onto your skin when he quietly asked about Law and you. “I don’t need details but…”
“There’s nothing to worry about,” you had assured him. “It really was just something that happened, and we both knew it was a one-time thing. It really was just two people lonely for the night.”
He seemed relieved with the answer, but you did mention the vivre card, and after a long moment, Sanji smiled softly. “He’s a powerful friend to have.”
“I’m going to make the second portion of the dinner, go talk to him.” Sanji kissed your forehead, and you held him by the elbow, stopping him from moving away from you. He gave you a perplexed smile but when you said I loved you to him; he beamed. Pulling you to him, he kissed you not once but twice. Laughing against your mouth when you pinched his butt. “You’ll be the death of me, sweetheart. I better go make food before Luffy decides he’s hungry again.”
You parted ways and watched as Sanji left to the cooking station; and when you moved passed Robin and Chopper, you gave each a light pat on the head. Walking over to Luffy, you said hello to Law, and he smiled at you. “I see you two worked things out.”
Nodding, you thanked him. “For being such a good friend to me, I appreciate it.”
Eyeing Luffy, Law nodded for you to follow him; the two of you moved to the side, out of hearing range. He stood at a respectable distance and said he was leaving tonight. “We have some things we need to get to. I heard you guys are leaving tomorrow, Luffy just told me.”
“My captain, loose lips.”
“I’m sure we’ll see each other soon; you Straw Hats have a way of crashing people’s plans…”
Grinning, you smiled proudly. “You mean we have a way of always saving people’s ass’s – that’s what you meant, right?”
Law drew a scowl and you laughed, patting him lightly on the shoulder. You told him to never change, and he finally smiled, telling you the same. Moving to give me a hug, the pirate stepped back, and you laughed, promising no harm would come to him. “Sanji’s not going to kick your ass, you don’t have to be afraid.”
The man grumbled under his breath but returned the gesture; the two of you embraced and you were grateful for him. For being there on a lonely night, for being thoughtful and mature; for being a friend. Giving him a tight squeeze, you smiled up at him and he reminded you of his vivre card. “If you guys ever need help…”
“Even if you don’t want to show it, you’re a kind person, Law.”
Parting ways, you watched as he walked back to his crew; laughing when Bepo attacked him with a hug. Oh, he was definitely a softie for his crew. Feeling a wave of lightness in the air, you turned to your own crew and strode to Nami when she waved you over. She eyed your outfit and gave a thumbs up, pulling you to her side she asked if Law and you bid your goodbyes. “Yeah, we did.”
“Good – I don’t want him sniffing around you now that Sanji and you are together.”
You let out a laugh, hugging her tightly. “You’re such a good friend, Nami.”
The two of you held each other, enjoying the fireworks for a while until you felt a familiar hand on your shoulder. With a cigarette perched between his lips, Sanji asked Nami if he could have some time with you and the navigator smirked. “Just because she’s your girlfriend now doesn’t mean you can hog her time! And while we’re at it, no more…. you know, where we eat!”
Sanji and you flushed with shame, eyeing each other – as if to accuse the other of blabbing. Catching on, Nami rolled her eyes and commented that she heard noises coming from the kitchen. Sanji buried his face in your back, holding you tight against his body. Equally embarrassed, you apologized to Nami.
“Just don’t let it happen again, you’re lucky Robin was standing guard after I heard the noise.” She looked over to you and sneered. “You’re like really loud, by the way. I think we should ask Franky if there’s a way to add another bedroom – none of us should have to deal with that.”
“Please go away,” you begged her, and she howled, walking away with a shake of her head. Mortified, you told Sanji he could never touch you again and he laughed, tugging you firmly against his chest.
“Not a chance.”
Turning around to face him, you slipped both arms around his neck just as the last of the fireworks were set off. Sparks flew up above the sky, the sound of young Otama’s cheers rang in your eyes and when Sanji’s eyes set upon you – fireworks ignited in your heart. His eyes grew soft as his head leaned toward yours and when his lips touched yours; you knew it was all worth it. The suffering the two of you endured, from childhood to now, it all seemed worth it now that you had each other. Sanji’s heart finally felt at ease with you in his arms, he truly was where he belonged. Luffy shouted for everyone to gather, a toast with the best crew ever! Sanji and you kissed once more, hands on each other’s face; his thumb rubbed against your cheek. Brushing strands of hair from his face, your eyes took in the sight before you. A man who was confident, who knew he was deserving of the world and you, the woman who would make sure he’d get everything he wanted. “You’re going to find the All Blue, Sanji. I’ll make damn sure of it.”
The sound of your captain shouting Sanji and you over to where the rest of the crew now stood, brought a beaming smile onto the cook’s face. He gazed upon you with a hopeful glee in his eyes and reached down for your hand. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
As the words danced around Sanji’s heart, hand in hand, you walked over to Luffy and the others; Zoro being quick to make a quip about your new relationship status. Lovesick idiots were his exact words which sent Sanji into a raging fit. Holding him by the waist, you laughed which made Nami shout at you for egging them on. Chopper voiced his concern about Sanji and you being sick, Robin giggled at his cuteness, while Brook asked if seeing your panties was out of the question now – which in turn made Sanji’s fiery directed to him. Luffy shouted for Sanji to stop, that he would burn Brook down to the…bones. Usopp smacked Luffy on the head because the musician was already made of bones. Franky cheered for no one in particular, he just wanted to see a fight, while Jinbei could only laugh at the mess in front of him. After several minutes of this, the arguing turned into soft bickering that involved into laughter and then Sanji’s arm was around your shoulder, everyone’s cup of sake in the air. Smiles all around and in the morning, the Sunny would sail away from Wano. Sanji and you, side by side, would be monsters together, forever.

I Still Love You
Words: 1193
Warnings: angst, references to sex (I think), mentions of a breakup, smoking
STRANGER THINGS Masterlist Main Masterlist
Y'all should be fully aware that me writing anything with full fluff is rare, so yes, this has fucking angst in it. Try me bitch
Can be read as a Part 2 for You Don't Love Me Anymore? and 1,000 Yellow Daisies (this is technically a part 3)
This also was originally written for my OC Drew Henderson (Find info on her/original story on this account @imnotobsessedwfictionalchracters )
I also know that this isn't that well written, it was done on my phone when I was *lowkey* overheating in my moms car while driving to my friends DCI other competition and back home last Saturday and Sunday (the 16-17thth)
I also hadn’t expected people to really enjoy the last one…so I’m gonna make an alt. version of this where reader moves on. Plus a Part 3 that is just Robin, Nancy, and Dustin wanting to MURDER Steve
Steve and other characters are PROBABLY OOC (as I suck at not being able to keep them from being OOC)
SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS SEASON 4 VOL 2
Anywho, enjoy
12 hours had passed since they got back from the Upside Down. Since Eddie had died. Since Max had...well, Max was still a questionable subject. Dustin and Y/N had lied to their mom about their whereabouts. Said they were with Steve the whole time. Of course their mom wasn’t too happy that Dustin had left, but she felt better that she knew her children were together during the ‘earthquake’.
Y/N still couldn’t believe that she had made it out with just a bruised left side. Let alone alive. So perhaps that was why she was where she was. Searching through her car for a box of cigarettes. Even though she and Steve had quit together, she still kept a box. Just in case. Of course she never thought that she would need them again after Christmas, but here she was.
She let out a sound of happiness when she found it. She slipped back out of her car, ignoring the screaming pain from her left side, and took a cigarette from the box. She slotted it in her mouth and grabbed the lighter from her back pocket. She took a long drag after it lit and kicked her car door close.
They were still at the Wheelers so she stayed at her car, not in the mood to hear anyone say something about the cigarette. She laughed to herself, she felt like a silly High Schooler again. Leaning against her car with a cigarette in front of Nancy’s house. At least she wasn’t waiting for Dustin to get done with his game of DnD today.
She stared at the cigarette. She felt bad. She knew that Dustin had hated that she smoked. Mostly because it caused her clothes and car to smell afterwards. She laughed. The two times she had broken the promise, Steve was involved. First their breakup. Now this.
At least he was helpful this time.
But this time also made her realize that her feelings for him never went away. It was easier during work, pretending she didn’t love him anymore. But then the two of them in the damn van and his talk about that stupid dream of his. Or before that when he got dragged back under by the fucking Demobats and she jumped in after without a second thought. Then the entire time they were separated she was praying that he was okay. She knew full well that this wasn’t going to end well. That she would never truly be over him.
She would always fucking love Steve Harrington and it was as simple as that.
She hadn’t realized how in her thoughts she was until she jumped as she heard someone say her name. She looked up and there he was. The man who she was just cursing that she would always love. She gave him a small smile. “You okay?”
She nodded “Yeah. Just processing everything that happened.”
He nodded and then motioned to the cigarette she was bringing up to her lips. “Thought you quit.”
She laughed as she blew the smoke out. “I did. But we nearly just died, Steve. Give me a break.” He laughed and took the cigarette from her hand and took a drag himself. She smiled at him teasingly. “Thought you quit.”
He smiled and said the same as her, “We just nearly died, Y/N. Give me a break.” After a second they both burst into laughter.
Once they stopped, a comfortable silence settled between them. That was until Y/N sighed. She stared forward, towards the Wheeler home. “What happened between us Steve?”
“What?”
She looked at him, “We were doing so good. What happened that made us break up? I refuse to believe that it was just because of that stupid fucking fight over Thanksgiving.”
“Y/N--”
She stopped him, “Don’t give the ‘now isn’t the time’ because it is. It is the time Steve.”
He looked away from her and whispered, “I got scared.” She froze for a moment. Wondering if she even heard him correctly. “I got scared over that fucking fight. Scared that you...that you would realize you deserve better than me. You, who got into fucking Northwestern and chose to wait a year, deserves better than me, the one who can’t get into fucking college.”
“Steve, I--”
He sighed and brought the cigarette back to his mouth. “I fucked up. Got into my own head again. I was petrified at the thought of losing you forever because you end up finding someone better for you. Someone who won’t hold you back. Then I realized that I fucked up by breaking up with you. That first week was torture. Robin to talk to me. Nancy wanted to kill me. I was even pretty sure that if Dustin had his license, he would’ve run me over.” She laughed lightly at the last part. He gave her a soft smile, “I’m sorry. Honestly, I am.”
She took his hand in hers. “I know you are Steve.”
“You know...I actually left something out earlier, with my dream.”
She tilted her head to the side, “Hm? What did you leave out?”
“That I dream about all of it with you. The woman in it always ends up being you. No matter how many times I think it’ll be someone else. I always see you.”
She wasn’t sure why she did it, but she took her hand out of his and placed it behind his head. She pulled him towards her and kissed him. Her other hand took the cigarette from him and dropped it on the ground, stepping on it to put it out. She felt him wrap his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. She moved to where she had him caged into between her and her car. Her legs between his own. She placed her hand onto her car to keep herself steady.
And it felt all too soon when they pulled away from each other. “I always told myself that I was over you. That my feelings had gone away. But I was lying. I still love you Steve Harrington. I always have and I always will.”
He smiled, “Good. Because I still love you Y/N Henderson. Always have and always will.”
She smiled and kissed him again. This time they only pulled away when they heard Erica yelling. “If you guys are done sucking each other’s faces off, the adults want us all inside.”
She laughed as Steve shot Erica a glare. She turned back and smiled at the younger girl. “Give us a minute, Erica.”
“Whatever. We better not come back out to you two making out again.”
She laughed again as Steve’s face lit up red. She looked back at him and kissed his nose. “Let’s go back in before someone comes out to murder us.”
He looked at her softly, “Yeah, yeah we should.”
They pulled away, but not much and instantly grabbed the other's hand. And as they walked into the house, they chose to ignore the looks and sat down next to each other. Just happy that things may finally end up good between them again.

Light streamed through the curtains, landing conveniently across my eyes and bringing me from my sleep. I looked at the clock through blurry eyes, realizing that I needed to get up soon for work but I really didn’t want to. My bed was so comfy and the body wrapped around my own was warm. Why would I ever want to –
Wait a damn minute… I blinked dumbly at the wall for a moment. Why is there a body in my bed? I turned slowly so as not to disturb them, a smile instantly coming to my face when I realized who it was.
Ryu was sleeping peacefully behind me, strands of hair falling across his face. He was already a gorgeous man but he looked like a damn angel when he was sleeping so peacefully. I slowly reached forward, tucking the hair behind his ear. He stirred, gorgeous brown eyes meeting mine.
“Morning,” he mumbled, stretching out his long body.
“When did you get here?” I wondered, propping my cheek up against my hand. “I thought you were on tour for another three days.”
“We had to end it early because of the bad weather.”
“You shoulda woke me up.”
He hummed, fingers curling around the hem of my shirt. “You looked too cute. I didn’t want to bother you.”
I ignore the fluttering of my heart and the warming of my cheeks, leaning down to claim his lips. “Babe, you could never bother me.”
He gave me a goofy grin, eyes lighting up. “You have to be at work soon, right?”
All thoughts of work had gone out the window when I realized he was in bed with me. I rarely got to see him because of his hectic schedule and there was no way I was going to work.
I forced myself up, grabbing my phone off the bedside table and bringing up Google. Ryu propped himself up on his elbow, looking curiously at my phone screen.
His brow furrowed as he read the words of the article I had clicked on. “‘A beginners guide to faking sick.’ You’re gonna lie to your boss?”
“No… I’m just gonna bend the truth a little,” I defended, trying to ignore the stern look he sent me. “Is it so wrong to want to spend time with my beautiful boyfriend, hm?”
He fought back against the smile trying to overtake his lips, still trying to appear stern but I knew I had broken him. It was my special ability at this point. “Fine, but you have to make it up to him later, okay?”
“I’ll bring him donuts or something.”
Ryu laughed, shaking his head before climbing over me to get off the bed. He started to leave the room but paused as if unsure. “Do you want me to make you breakfast?”
I wasn’t sure why, but he was always cautious when it came to cooking. It’s like he wants to, but he just doesn’t have the confidence in himself which breaks my heart. I offered him a playful grin. “Well, the last time I cooked something that wasn’t instant ramen, I set the kitchen on fire, so…”
He paled as the memory came flooding back to him. “Ah… I’ll cook, then.”
“Sounds like a good idea.” I followed him into the tiny kitchen, settling down at the table with my phone. “I love your cooking. Your food always tastes so good.”
“Really?” He glanced at me with a shy smile and I nodded.
“Yes, really. If I could cook like you, I wouldn’t be a Fire hazard.”
He laughed, pulling the eggs out of the fridge. “Just don’t attempt it when I’m not here, okay?”
“Okay~” I promised, pulling up my boss’s contact. I took a deep breath, clearing my throat as I pressed it to my ear. I hoped it would go to his voice-mail, but no such luck.
“Hello? Takanori speaking.“
“Hey, boss.” I tried to lower my voice and sound as if I was dying, but judging from the look Ryu was giving me, it wasn’t working as intended. “I, uh… I can’t come in… today…”
“Oh? Are you okay? You sound terrible.“
“Yeah, I -” I faked a few coughs and Ryu sent me another stern look, clearly not approving of the lie. “- I’m not feeling too hot.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. Get some rest and –“
There was a sudden loud clang from the kitchen. Ryu had dropped the metal spatula on the floor. ‘Sorry,’ he mouthed, sending me an apologetic and guilty look.
My boss called out my name, sounding worried. “What was that noise? Is everything okay?“
“Yeah!” I replied quickly, forgetting my tone change which I quickly fixed. “Yeah, sorry. I… I dropped my cup…”
“You should be in bed,” he scolded softly. “Don’t worry about anything. I can get Dia to cover your shift.“
“Thanks, boss.”
“Take care.”
I hung up the phone, releasing a relieved sigh as I sat back in my chair. “Man, acting is hard. I don’t know how you do it.”
“A lot of practice,” he hummed, breaking the eggs into a bowl.
I watched him for a moment, admiring how careful he was with each action. “What should we do today? A new store opened up a few blocks away. Looks interesting from the outside.”
“Is that a smart idea? What if your boss sees you?”
“He works in an office building on the other side of town and he’s a workaholic so he stays way later than everyone else. The chance of him seeing me is,” I formed a circle with my hand. “Zero percent.”
“Famous last words,” he teased.
“For you,” I came up behind him, arms around his waist and face buried in the back of his shirt. “It’s worth the risk.”
His hand found mine, giving it a gentle squeeze. It was something he did to show thanks when words failed him.
After breakfast, we started to get ready to head out.
Ryu checked his phone before glancing at me. “It’s supposed to rain and the temperature is going to drop. Wear your coat, you’ll catch a cold.”
“Don’t worry so much, you know I love the cold,” I replied, shoving my feet into my boots.
“Loving the cold doesn’t make you immune to it.”
“I’ll be fine, I promise.” I held my hand out to him with a reassuring smile and he reluctantly took it, his hand easily dwarfing my own. “Besides, I’ve got you to keep me warm.”
He quickly turned his head but not before I noticed his blush, bringing a grin to my lips. He tugged me out of the apartment, the chilly autumn air nipping at my exposed skin. The sky was covered with gray clouds,  thunder rolling softly in the distance.
He glanced up and hummed thoughtfully. “We should buy an umbrella first.”
“The convenience store on the corner sells them, I think.” I tugged him in that direction, feeling in high spirits. How could I not be? The love of my life was home, it was nearly October, it was cold out and it was probably going to rain. It was a recipe for pure joy.
The store had an entire rack of umbrellas for sale, including a blue one with lamas printed on it and a teal one with cats printed on it. It took me an embarrassingly long time to choose one while Ryu waited patiently, standing behind me with his arms around my waist and chin on top of my head. It was an easy feat given our height difference.
“If you want, you can buy both,” suggested Ryu softly.
I considered it for a moment. “They’re overpriced already and I don’t need two.”
Ryu chuckled, picking them both up and heading to the front despite my protests. He didn’t hesitate to pay for them both, again, ignoring my protests. I sent him a disapproving look when he held them out to me.
“Don’t be mad,” he pouted. “I like buying things for you. It makes me happy.”
Well, I can’t argue with that. His happiness is my happiness. I clicked my tongue, taking the umbrellas from him. “Thank you, I really do appreciate it.”
“Of course. Should we check out that new store now?”
“Yes, let’s go~!” I grabbed his hand and dragged him from the store, prompting a laugh from him.
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
I stifled a yawn, rubbing the back of my neck. We had been out for hours, mostly just walking around and enjoying each other’s company. The shop hadn’t been anything special, though Ryu did find a jacket that he liked.
He threw his arm around my shoulders, rubbing up and down my arm. “Should we head home?”
“Yeah. We can watch a movie if you want.”
“I’d like that. You can choose.”
“Oh?” I sent him a grin and he frowned.
“Am I going to regret that decision?”
“We are so watching The Worst.”
A faint tint came to his cheeks. “We’ve already seen it a hundred times.”
“And I wanna see it a hundred more because my baby is in it and he’s incredibly talented.” I smiled warmly, reaching up to cup his face. He leaned down to make it easier, his warm hand covering my own. “You’re an amazing actor, you know? And an amazing dancer. And a genuinely amazing person in general.”
He shifted nervously, glancing away.
I knew complimenting him made him feel shy and nervous, but it felt important to me. I needed him to know how important he is, how special. Maybe that makes me selfish, I don’t know.
I pulled back, releasing my grip on him. “Come on, let’s get home before -“
As if sensing my thoughts, the sky opened up with a loud roar of thunder. Sheets of rain fell on top of us, causing the others on the street to cry out and rush for cover. Ryu grabbed my hand, pulling me under the cover of a nearby Cafe. As badly as I wanted to enjoy the rain, I was more concerned about him. It would be bad if he got sick and couldn’t rejoin the other Rampage members.
“We should get home so you can change,” I murmured, frowning at the water that clung to his hair. I opened the cat umbrella, making sure to hold it high enough so it wasn’t resting against the top of his head.
“You need to change, too,” he pointed out, putting his arm around my shoulder and tugging me against his side to ensure that the umbrella covered us both. The wind picked up, sending a chill down my spine. It took everything I had not to shiver simply because I didn’t want to worry him.
The apartment was chilly, providing little warmth.
“Hurry and get changed,” said Ryu as he shrugged off his jacket.
“You first.”
He sent me a pointed look which I returned.
“Don’t look at me like that, Ryutaro. Think about the other members if you get sick.” I folded my arms over my chest, watching as he bit his lip. “Go on, I’ll be fine.”
“I’ll be quick.” He pecked my cheek before rushing into the bedroom. Kazu came rushing out when he opened the door, easily slipping through his legs before rushing over to me.
I clicked my tongue, kneeling in front of him. “Sorry, I didn’t realize you were in the room.”
He stared at me with his large blue eyes, tail swishing back and forth in annoyance.
“Will a treat make it up to you?”
Mrow~
I chuckled, patting the feline on the head before standing up to enter the kitchen, him hot on my heels. He hopped up onto the chair, waiting patiently as I searched for the treats. Where the hell are they? I tugged open the cabinet, spying them on the top shelf.
Well, shit. I stood on my tiptoes, reaching up but only the tips of my fingers brushed against the plastic container. I tried pushing it closer to the edge but I think I just pushed it farther away.
A chest pressed against my back, his hand appearing beside my own and easily reaching the container. “I’ll feed Kazu. Go get changed.” He pressed another kiss to my cheek before approaching the annoyed feline.
I smiled at him before doing as I was told, changing into a t-shirt, a rampage hoodie, and some pajama pants with little ghosts printed on them. I felt much warmer now, but there was a tickle at the back of my brain. I couldn’t describe it, I just knew I didn’t feel quite as energetic as I had this morning. Then again, it was a long day.
Ryu was sitting on the couch waiting for me, Kazu curled up beside him as he gently brushed his fingers over the feline’s white fur. I settled down on his other side, seeing the movie already pulled up and ready to play. He pulled me against his body, arms wrapped protectively around me.
With a smile, I pressed play on the remote before letting myself melt against him, chest filled with warmth and love.
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
Over the next couple of days, I started to feel worse and worse. My body felt heavy as if it were made of lead, someone seemed to be endlessly pounding on my skull with a hammer and I barely had the energy to live. Even so, I knew I had to hide it from Ryu because he’s the type who would drop everything for his loved ones.
I refuse to be the reason behind him getting into trouble or, worse, getting fired and losing his dreams. It was hard as hell to pretend to be okay, but I managed by pretending it was a video game. Besides, he leaves tomorrow morning so I can die in peace without disturbing him so long as I make it through the night.
The smell of paella filled the apartment and I swallowed hard, hit by a wave of nausea. Not that it smelled bad or anything, but in my weakened state, I simply wasn’t hungry and I couldn’t trust myself not to throw up if I actually ate something. If that were to happen, Ryu would blame himself for messing it up and I didn’t want that.
On the other hand, telling him I didn’t want to eat would probably make him feel self-conscious and sad. He put in the effort to cook for us despite not having a lot of confidence in doing so, I couldn’t just crush him like that.
I brought my knees to my chest, groaning softly into my knees. Kazu was staring at me from the recliner. I don’t know if he understood my predicament but it felt as if he was judging me for my choices, the little shit. He reminds me of someone else who just so happens to share the same name.
Ryu’s feet padded softly across the wooden floor as he appeared beside the couch. “Dinner’s ready. Do you want me to make you a plate?”
I took a slow, deep breath. ‘Come on, get your shit together. Do it for him.’ Lifting my head, I gave him an apologetic smile. “Actually… I think I might skip dinner tonight.”
He sat beside me with a frown, brow furrowed in worry. “Why? What’s wrong?”
My stomach lurched, a sharp pain shooting through my skull simultaneously and I nearly cursed aloud at my body for conspiring against me. I wrapped my arms tightly around my stomach to try and ease some of the pain I felt. “I’m about to start my period so my stomach is a bit… wonky at the moment.”
“Already? You’re not due to start for another week.”
I shouldn’t have been surprised that he knew that because he was always on top of things like that, always trying to ensure I was comfortable and prepared each month, even when he was away. “Uh… better early than late?”
His face burned at the comment and he brought the back of his hand up to cover it. “Go get some rest.”
“I’m sorry, Ryu.”
“For what?”
“You cooked for nothing… I should have said something sooner.”
“It’s okay,” he replied softly, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “You can eat it when you’re feeling better.”
I wanted to kiss him so badly for being such a sweetheart but I didn’t want him to get sick so I settled for a thankful smile. “Thank you, baby.”
“Of course.”
I waited for him to disappear back into the kitchen before standing up and hobbling my way back to the bedroom, holding onto the wall for support. The room was spinning by the time I made it to bed and I was all too happy to fall face-first onto it, the pillow muffling my groan.
Despite feeling exhausted, I just couldn’t fall asleep. My head was hurting too bad, the painkillers not even touching it. For two hours, I lay there staring at the wall, trying to will myself to succumb to the darkness of sleep but my body refused to obey. When Ryu finally joined me, I pretended I was asleep, urging myself not to move as he slid in behind me, arms wrapped protectively around my body.
I guess that was the missing link because the last thing I remember was him kissing me on the cheek and whispering, I love you, something that he rarely said out loud.
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
I startled awake as a coughing fit grasped me tightly, forcing me to sit up. The room was bright with Ryu nowhere to be found. I glanced at the clock and cursed, realizing that he had already left. I was already late for work, too.
As badly as I wanted to just bail and call in sick again, I knew I couldn’t. This was my karma for lying about being sick in the first place, I knew. With a groan, I threw the covers off of me and immediately started to shiver as the cool air wrapped around me. My head still hurt, my nose stuffy and the room spun when I tried to stand up.
“Shit,” I muttered, sitting back down and squeezing my eyes shut. I waited for my head to stop swimming before standing up again, walking slowly so I didn’t fall. Kazu followed close behind, his big eyes not leaving me once. At least he didn’t seem to be judging me this time. If anything, he looked worried.
“I’m fine,” I told him, though my voice was hoarse and my throat scratchy. He flicked his ear, eyes narrowing. “Don’t give me that look. I’ll never give you treats again, you little -” My threat was interrupted by a coughing fit, my throat burning.
It took longer than I’d like to admit to get ready for work and, if I’m being completely honest, I don’t remember how I got to work. It felt like I blacked out and when I came to, I was sitting at my desk with a sheet of paper in one hand and a pen in the other.
I felt a familiar tickle at my nose and I scrunched it up on instinct, only making it worse. I tried to hold it back but a loud sneeze ripped from my body, sending the stack of papers flying off the desk. I groaned at the throbbing in my skull, eyes half-lidded.
“Are you okay?” A hand rested on my shoulder and I slowly lifted my head, seeing my boss frown. “Geez, you look like death.”
“Am okay, boss,” I mumbled, rubbing my eyes. I started to get up to retrieve the papers when the world started to spin violently around me.
“Woah!” He threw his arm out to steady me, slowly lowering me back into my seat. The back of his hand rested against my forehead, his frown deepening. “You’re burning up… wait here a minute, okay?”
I didn’t have the energy to reply, my body slumping forward onto the desk with a groan. Why does everything hurt so bad? Am I dying right now?
“As you can see, she’s not doing so well,” stated my boss as he adjusted his glasses, returning to my side. “Can you take her home? I’ll pay for the Uber.”
“Of course, boss,” replied Dia. “Leave it to me.”
“I’ll call them, then.”
As soon as the car arrived, Dia helped me down to the first floor, allowing me to lean against her even at the risk of catching my cold. At least, I think it’s a cold. Maybe it’s the flu, I don’t know. Either way, she was selfless and I loved her for it.
There was a car parked in front of the building, tinted windows making it impossible to see. I could hear K-pop music blaring from within and I dreaded getting inside with my head hurting as badly as it was.
Dia knocked on the passenger window and it slowly slid down, the driver leaning toward it. She was wearing a strange pink thing on her head, the fabric secured beneath her chin with velcro. On the top was something resembling a tentacle, though it was different. I felt as if I knew what it was, but my feverish brain couldn’t quite place it.
She tilted her head down to peer at us over her sunglasses, yelling to be heard over the loud music pumping through the car. “You Dia?”
“I can’t hear you!” She yelled back.
Shaking her head, the driver flicked the volume dial and repeated the question.
“Yes, that’s me.”
“Cool, I’m Kelso. Hop in and let’s go for a ride,” she grinned, rubbing her hands together like some kind of anime villain.
Dia sent me a concerned look as she helped me into the backseat, though I wasn’t sure if it was because of my illness or because our driver might be certifiably insane. The cold air of the ac felt good against my heated skin and I sighed softly, resting my head against the glass.
The car was quiet at first, broken only by the soft music playing in the background.
“Hey, you know sharks don’t have any bones?”
“I – huh?” Dia looked at the woman, startled.
“Yeah and don’t say their teeth, either, because that shit is calcium, not bone.”
“Sure…”
The song changed and Dia gasped. “Oh my god, I love Pentagon!”
“Really? Me too!” She grinned, turning in her seat so that she was half-facing us while still driving down the road. “Who’s your favorite member?”
Dia didn’t seem to notice that our driver was no longer looking at the road despite driving at such a high speed. “I love Jinho.”
“My bias is Wooseok.”
My wide eyes stared forward as cars and buildings zoomed past us. My heart was racing in my chest, and my head seeming to throb in tandem with it. I looked at Dia in horror, trying to get her attention but my voice seemed to have left me. When I turned back to the front, there was a woman relaxing on the hood, not seeming the least bit bothered by the high speed at which we were traveling.
She slowly turned her head, smiling warmly at me when our eyes met, but it quickly fell into a worried frown. “You don’t look so good, hun.” Despite being on the outside of the vehicle, it sounded as if she was talking from right in front of me.
“I…” My voice was scratchy and I ended up coughing a few times before I could speak again. “I think I’m dying…”
She chuckled softly, amusement dancing in her eyes. “You’re not dying. Not yet, anyway.”
“How are you on the hood of the car? How haven’t we crashed yet?” I glanced at Dia to find her still chatting animatedly with Kelso, but they weren’t making a sound. It was as if someone had pressed the mute button on them. “I’m so confused,” I groaned, resting my face in my hands. All I wanted was to be back in Ryu’s arms, but he would be gone for a while.
My heart clenched painfully at the thought, tears stinging at my eyes.
“Don’t cry,” said the woman, her voice soft and comforting. “Everything will be alright, I promise.”
Maybe she was right, but at that moment, it felt like everything was collapsing in on me.
“Rest,” she ordered.
Warmth spread throughout my body, my eyes growing heavy. I shook my head, trying to keep them open but I wasn’t strong enough. Before I knew it, darkness had claimed me.
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
I tugged the comforter tighter around my body, feeling as if I was freezing. It wasn’t even cold outside and the AC certainly wasn’t on, yet my body refused to warm up. What in the world is happening to me? I rarely get sick and it usually knocks me on my ass when I finally do but shit. It feels as if I’ve been sick for weeks, though I know it’s only been a few days.
I wasn’t feeling quite as bad as I had been yesterday, so that’s an improvement, I guess. I felt exhausted and barely got two hours of sleep last night, yet sleep seemed to be running away from me.
With a sigh, I rolled over so I could grab my phone off the bedside table. I was hoping to have a message from Ryu to lift my spirits, but he still hadn’t replied to my last message. I knew he was busy but, already feeling so shitty, it hit me harder than it should have.
I pulled up Google, contemplating my next action for a moment before deciding to search for my symptoms. If I knew exactly what I had whether that be the cold, the flu, or something else entirely, then I could take the proper medication and finally recover from this shit. Regular cold meds and painkillers don’t seem to be cutting it.
After inputting all of my symptoms and the time frame into Google, I skimmed through most of the results because my head was still hurting and my vision slightly blurry, but most of the links I clicked all said the same shit – you’re probably going to die.
No fucking shit. Were all gonna die eventually. I groaned in frustration, throwing my phone onto the bedside table. As if disturbed by the sudden noise, Kazu came running into the room, tail straight up in alert.
“I’m still alive,” I grunted. “Barely.”
“Mrow~” He jumped up onto the bed, looking at me expectantly.
“What?”
“Mrow~“
“I don’t speak cat.”
He blinked at me and I blinked back. After staring at each other for several minutes, he hopped up onto the bed, flopping down against my side. I slowly turned, throwing my arms around him in an attempt to cuddle. I figured he was going to run away because Ryu was the only one who could get away with cuddling him.
He didn’t, though, allowing me to hold him against my chest. I buried my face in his soft fur, wishing that I would stop feeling like the damn walking dead. More than anything, I wished Ryu was here. Maybe I was being clingy but I missed him something terrible, my heart aching.
I heard the front door open, Kazu’s ear flicking to indicate that he heard it, too. Dia appeared at the door of my bedroom a minute later. “Morning. Feeling any better?”
“If by better you mean death then yes.”
She frowned, touching my forehead with her hand. “That fever is being really persistent… I think you should go to the doctor.”
“Doctors are expensive,” I muttered.
“You’re dating a celebrity, I think you can afford to see a doctor when you’re sick.”
I shook my head, frowning at her. “It’s his money, not mine.”
“You’re supposed to share things in a relationship.”
“Don’t care. I refuse to use his money. Besides, if I ignore it long enough, it’ll give up and go away.”
She sighed deeply, bringing her hand to her face. “Are you hungry?”
My stomach twisted painfully at the thought of food, my nose wrinkling. “No.”
“You have to eat if you want to get better, you know.”
“I ate last night.”
“Half a slice of bed is hardly nutritious.”
“I’m fine, mom.”
“I’m just worried about you,” she frowned. “Have you even told Ryu-san?”
“Of course not!” I replied quickly, scowling at her. “And I’m not going to. As far as he’s concerned, this never happened.”
“Don’t you think he’d want to know?”
“Of course, he would, but I know him. He’ll obsess over it and worry himself into the ground. He needs to focus on his group, not me. There’s nothing he can do for me so there’s no point telling him.”
She clearly didn’t agree, making me narrow my eyes at her.
“If you tell him, I will steal all your K-pop albums and sell them for one penny outside of Seiyu!”
She gasped dramatically, hands coming up to cover her mouth. “You wouldn’t dare…”
“Try me.”
“Fine,” Dia huffed, putting her hand on her hip. “Do you need anything before I head to work?”
“Can you get me a Dr. Pepper from the fridge?”
Without a word, she left the room, returning a minute later with a bottle of water.
“That’s not Dr. Pepper,” I scowled.
“You shouldn’t be drinking soda while you’re sick. Drink water so you hydrate, not diedrate.”
I scoffed in annoyance, knowing she was right but refusing to admit it.
She set the bottle on the nightstand, giving me a smile. “I’m off, then. Call me if you need me and get some rest. Don’t do anything stupid.”
I watched as she disappeared from the room, listening to the sound of her footsteps fading as she headed for the door. The hinges squeaked when she opened it, squeaking again when she closed it.
I don’t want to rest, I’ve been doing nothing but resting for ages and I’m starting to go stir crazy. I pressed a kiss to the top of Kazu’s head before slowly crawling out of bed, taking a moment to regain my sense of balance. “Kazu, don’t tell Dia.”
He tilted his head back, staring at me with narrowed eyes. I couldn’t tell if he was trying to say he disapproved of my actions or if he just didn’t give enough fucks to tell her even if he could talk.
After making sure Kazu had food in his bowl, I grabbed a Dr. Pepper from the fridge and curled up on the couch to watch some Netflix. I hoped it would distract me from everything or ease my stir craziness, at the very least. Kazu hopped up into the recliner, crossing one paw over the other before resting his head atop them, large blue eyes staring straight at me.
It was only slightly unnerving.
“I’m not just gonna, like, keel over and die ya know,” I scowled at him, earning just a blink in reply. I really wanted to watch The Worst again, but I knew it would only make me long for Ryu more so I chose a funny movie instead. Thank god Deadpool is available in Japan. It’s easily one of my comfort movies and I love Ryan Reynolds so much.
Man, I’d kill to be able to eat some popcorn right now, but the thought of it had my stomach doing painful flips. I scowled, patting my belly. “Relax, ho. I’m not gonna feed you so chill out.”
About halfway through the movie, I felt my eyelids growing heavier but I fought to stay awake. I was tired of sleeping, I just wanted to watch Deadpool and laugh my troubles away! I slapped my cheeks, shaking my head to try and wake myself up and it worked… for about twenty minutes.
Maybe if I just rest my eyes for a few minutes, it’ll help. Yeah, that’s right. I’m just… resting my eyes…
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
The feeling of being lifted startled me awake, my eyes snapping open and my limbs flailing in panic.
“Calm down, it’s just me.”
I blinked dumbly, slowly lifting my gaze to meet Ryu’s. “You’re not supposed to be here… am I hallucinating again?”
“Again?” He frowned at me, his jaw tense. He didn’t say another word as he carried me to the bedroom, setting me gently down on the bed. “Do not get out of this bed.”
I frowned at him, not used to hearing him sound or look so annoyed. My eyes followed him until he was out of sight and I heard the front door open and close loudly, making me wince. Ryu was always so patient and kind, even when someone was trying to rile him up. He playfully gets mad with his members, but it’s nothing serious.
Seeing him act this way now… I knew I had fucked up royally. Tears stung at my eyes but I blinked them back, sniffling loudly as I reached for a tissue to blow my nose. God, I bet I look like an absolute mess.
I’ve always been self-conscious around him because he’s just so beautiful and I know I don’t deserve him, but my insecurities have, for the most part, stayed hidden in a dark corner of my mind. He made me feel loved and accepted, seeming to crush those negative thoughts every time they tried to crawl out into the light.
Now, though, I was completely overwhelmed. My body was at its limit and it was affecting my mind, as well. I felt weak and pathetic, like a burden on Ryu who had raced home to help me because I couldn’t help myself. Was he going to get into trouble for this? Would he lose his spot on The Rampage?
He leaned against the doorframe, arms folded over his chest and jaw clenched. “Why didn’t you call me?”
“I didn’t want to bother you -“
“Bother me?” He echoed in disbelief. “Do you even consider me your boyfriend?”
“What? Of course, I -“
“You never tell me anything. You’re always hiding your feelings, hiding when you’re sick. Don’t you trust me?” He shook his head, brow furrowed in frustration. “Do you not want to be with me?”
The question was enough to finally break me and send tears rolling down my cheeks. He looked at me with a startled expression, body tense as he pushed away from the doorframe.
I quickly rolled over to face the wall, biting my lip to try and muffle my sobs. I tried so hard to stop crying but, as always, my body refused to obey.
The side of the bed dipped, his warm hand on my back. “Please don’t cry… I’m sorry.”
I was the one who fucked up but he is apologizing? Goddamn it.
“Hey,” he called softly, trying to roll me over to face him but I refused, shaking my head. Instead of forcing me, he slid in behind me until his warm chest was against my back, arms wrapped protectively around me. “It’s okay, darling. I’m right here.”
His words only made me cry harder, fists clenching around the sheets. I was a fucking mess and I hated showing this side of myself to him. He was patient with me, though, whispering comforting words to me and rubbing my arm to try and calm me down. It took a while, but I guess I finally ran out of tears.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, my voice hoarse and throat sore. My eyes felt puffy and there was a wet spot on my pillow from all the tears I had shed. “I… I should have told you, I just… I don’t want to, to ruin your career…”
“That won’t happen,” he assured me, trying to roll me toward him again. This time, I allowed it, not having the strength to fight back. His brown eyes met mine, swimming with love and warmth. He cupped my cheek, thumb brushing away the remnants of my tears. “I thought my heart stopped when Dia called me.”
“I told her not to,” I muttered, focusing my eyes on his necklace, unable to hold his gaze.
“I’m glad she did. You’ve been suffering alone for days,” he frowned, reaching down to press a kiss to my forehead. “You still have a fever.”
I pushed at his chest while simultaneously trying to sink into the mattress. “You’re going to get sick!”
He chuckled, taking my hand and pressing it over his heart. The steady beat was comforting. “I’m not leaving your side until you’re better.”
“But The Rampage -“
“Sends there get well soon wishes. I can’t promise Likiya-san and Zin-san won’t scold you when they see you next,” he smiled, pressing another kiss to my forehead before standing up. He started to leave the room but paused, sending me a stern look. “Don’t you dare move.”
While he was gone, I sat up to grab some tissues to wipe away my tears and blow my nose in an attempt to look a little less like a bog witch. I doubt it helped much, but he didn’t seem to care as he returned with my favorite Halloween mug, steam rising from it.
Ryu sat on the side of the bed, careful not to spill it. “Drink this, it’ll help.”
I tried to sniff the air but I couldn’t smell anything. I eyed it wearily. “What is it?”
“Ginger tea. My lola used to make it for me every time I got sick. She swears by it so she made sure to teach me how to make it.”
I was a picky eater, so trying new things always made me feel weary.  I trust Ryu, though, so I took the mug from him and gave it a careful sip. It filled my body with warmth, tasting slightly spicy. Not like chili pepper spicy but more like… herbal spicy.
“It’s good,” I murmured, closing my eyes as I drank more of it. My throat was already beginning to feel less scratchy and sore.
“I’m guessing you haven’t eaten, either?”
“Define eaten.”
He held back a sigh, running a hand through his hair to compose himself. “I’ll make you some Lugaw.”
“Lu what now?”
“Lugaw,” he repeated with a chuckle. “My lola always told me that it has healing properties and it always made me feel better as a kid. I… don’t know if I can make it correctly, but I’m going to try.”
“I bet it’s going to taste amazing,” I assured him, reaching out for his hand. “You’ll put Gordon Ramsay to shame.”
His cheeks tinted, a goofy smile on his lips, and his eyes lighting up. “Thank you. I’ll do my best.”
When he stood up, I tried to follow only for him to click his tongue.
“No, you need to rest.”
“I’ve done nothing but rest,” I scowled. “I want to watch you cook. It calms me.”
He seemed to consider it for a moment before nodding and holding out his hand to help me up. His arm remained around my body as we headed to the kitchen and he didn’t leave my side until I was safely on the chair. Watching him truly did make me feel calm, along with the beverage that I was drinking.
I felt a tiny bit better already. Maybe his grandma is really onto something with these home remedies. “How long are you staying?”
He hummed as he cut up more ginger. “I told you, I’m not leaving until you get better.”
“And I told you, the longer you’re around me, the higher the risk of you getting sick. You’re already missing work because of me. If you get sick, you’ll miss even more. What if they fire you?”
“I promise you, that’s not going to happen.” Ryu sent me a reassuring smile but I didn’t feel very reassured at all. “Our managers were very understanding when I told them.”
I slid down in my chair, setting the empty cup on the table. “You could still get sick and spread it to the other members.”
“I won’t get sick.”
“How can you be sure of that?”
“Because I have a phenomenal immune system,” he grinned, making me scoff.
“What was that you said to me? ‘Famous last words,’ was it?”
“Except I’m not going outside in the winter without a coat only to be caught in the rain.”
I opened my mouth to reply only to scowl, realizing he was right. “Wipe that grin off your face, Ata Ryutaro.”
“Yes, darling,” he chuckled, returning to the task at hand.
I tried to ignore the fluttering in my chest and the warmth at the tips of my ears when he called me that. I adored it when he called me darling, but it wasn’t something he said often, especially not in public.
I couldn’t find the smile that came to my lips. I truly was the luckiest human on earth. “Hey, Ryu?”
“Yes?” He paused what he was doing to look at me. “Do you want some more tea?”
I shook my head. “I just wanted to thank you. You really are an amazing boyfriend.”
“You don’t have to thank me,” he mumbled, hiding his face from me.
“I love you.”
His eyes met mine, filled with love and warmth. “I love you, too.”
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
I stretched my arms over my head, smiling as I breathed in the fresh air of the morning. After a couple of days under Ryu’s care, I was nearly back to my old self, though my body was still a bit achy. At least I could breathe properly now and the room didn’t spin when I got up too quickly.
The time spent with him was a nice bonus, too. I never wanted this to end, but I knew he had to be getting back to work. With one last look at the cloudy sky, I headed back inside to wake up Ryu. Just as I reached the door, I heard a sneeze from the other side followed by a soft groan.
I pushed the door open with a frown, taking in the appearance of my boyfriend. He still looked tired, his brown eyes lacking their usual luster. He seemed pale, too. “Babe, you okay?”
He smiled at me but it was obviously forced. “I’m fine.”
“You just sneezed.”
He seemed embarrassed that I had heard him. Before he could reply, though, another sneeze ripped from him, followed by a groan as he clutched his head. Rather than deny the obvious, he just pouted at me.
I hummed, approaching the bed so I could take his face between my hands. I could feel how warm he was before my forehead even met his. “You’ve got a fever.”
His fingers curled around my wrist, lips brushing against my own when he spoke. “I think I caught your flu…”
“Yeah? What happened to that phenomenal immune system of yours, hm?” I teased softly, brushing the hair from his face.
“You’re really going to tease me when I feel this bad?”
“Sorry, baby,” I chuckled, pressing a kiss to his lips. When I tried to pull away, he chased me with a whine. I chuckled, knowing how clingy and whiny he could get when he was sick. “Well, on the bright side, I get to return the favor and nurse you back to health.”
“‘M sorry,” he mumbled as he laid back down. “Will you stay with me?”
“You don’t even have to ask.” I slid in next to him and he slotted his body against mine, face buried in my neck as his limbs wrapped around me. I hummed softly, running my hands through his hair until his breathing evened out.
Maybe this makes me a bad person, but… I’m kind of happy that he caught my flu. God, I sound like such a bitch thinking that way, especially since I knew he was going to be feeling miserable, but I do love being able to take care of him. Despite being younger than me, he’s always been the caretaker in the relationship, going out of his way to accommodate me and my needs. It feels nice to be able to take care of him for a change, to have him rely on me.
His phone vibrated on the bedside table and I cursed softly, reaching my arm behind me to try and grab it. It was not comfortable at all but his limbs were like chains around my body, holding me in place so I couldn’t really move. I’m not entirely sure how I did it, but I managed to grab a hold of his phone, answering it without much thought so it wouldn’t wake him up.
“Hello?” I spoke softly, not wanting to disturb his sleep.
Zin said my name in surprise. “Hey, how are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling great, actually. Ryu is a really good nurse.”
“That’s good to hear. Why are you whispering, though?”
“He’s asleep and I don’t want to wake him up.”
There was a moment of silence and then a deep sigh on the other end of the line. “He’s sick, isn’t he?”
“Um… kind of?” I replied sheepishly. “I’m really sorry, Zin-san. I tried to get him to leave but you know how stubborn he is…”
Zin chuckled. “Yeah, I know. No need to apologize.”
There was muffled talking in the background before the phone shifted to Likiya. “Hey, little one. You feeling better?”
“I’m doing great, Likiya-chan, but Ryu caught my flu, I think.”
“I figured he would,” he replied with a laugh. “Listen, we’ll be there soon but don’t tell Ryu.”
“Eh?” I replied louder than intended, making Ryu mumble and squeeze himself closer to me. “You’re coming here? What for?”
“We wanted to check on you and cheer you up, but I suppose we’ll be doing that for Ryu now.”
“But all of you are going to get sick, too,” I frowned.
“Don’t worry about us, little one, just worry about taking care of our Ryu. See you soon.”
I blinked dumbly as the sound of the dial tone filled my ear. Do these boys have no self-preservation at all? They’re skipping work to come here and risking getting sick in the process, thus keeping them out of work even longer. I sighed deeply, setting the phone down on the bed.
Something tells me this isn’t going to end well. The Rampage is known for having only one brain cell combined and stuffing them all into our small apartment with a sick Ryu and an introverted Kazu? What the hell could possibly go wrong?
━━━━━━༻☔༺━━━━━
I stepped outside, hands stuffed into the pocket of Ryu’s hoodie as I glanced around. Likiya had messaged me a few minutes ago saying that they were about ten minutes away from the apartment so I figured I’d come out and meet them. A few of my neighbors aren’t very fond of strangers in the building and these guys would no doubt be loud on their way up. I also didn’t have much faith that they wouldn’t go to the wrong apartment despite knowing where we lived.
A familiar-looking black car pulled up to the curb and Dia stepped out of the back, looking annoyed. The driver was Kelso again and she, too, looked annoyed as she jumped out of the car, eyes narrowed at Dia. She was still wearing that ridiculous hat which I now realized was Buu from the Dragonball series.
“Go away!” Dia scowled, folding her arms over her chest. “I already told you, I’m not buying your fake CDs!”
“How dare you! They’re not fake, they’re economic,” defended Kelso with a huff.
“They’re fake and you should be in jail!”
“Jokes on you, I was just released from jail!”
I watched the two of them argue back and forth, unsure of how to proceed. Do I try to break it up? That sounded like more effort than I was willing to spare, especially since I needed to be at full battery to deal with the storm that is the Rampage.
Speak of the devil…
Two tan vans pulled up to the curb behind the black car. The sliding door on the first van opened up before it even came to a stop, Shohei jumped out of the vehicle with a grin as he cried out my name. I had no time to prepare myself before his body barreled into my own, arms so tight around me that it knocked the air from my lungs.
“Nee-chan~” he sang with a grin. “I missed you~”
Likiya rushed over with a scowl. “Put her down, Shohei! She just recovered from being really sick!”
He pouted at being scolded before doing as he was told, putting me back on the ground.
I sucked in some air, resisting the urge to cough as I patted his shoulder. “Good to see you, too, Sho-chan.”
“How are you?” asked Likiya softly, holding out his arms for a hug. It was much softer than the one Shohei had given.
“I’m doing well. Wish I could say the same for Ryu.”
“Don’t worry, he’ll be better in no time,” he reassured me, giving me a gentle squeeze before pulling away.
I realized the arguing had stopped and I glanced over at the two women, both of whom were staring at the men with wide eyes. Dia’s eyes were trained on Makoto while Kelso’s were trained on Takuma. The scene behind them changed to pink, sparkles and roses appearing around their heads as hearts appeared in their eyes.
Shit, am I hallucinating again? I quickly shook my head, rubbing at my eyes before looking at them again. They were just standing there staring at the men, no sparkles in sight.
“You okay?” Kazuma patted my arm, tilting his head to the side. Hokuto was beside him, sending me a concerned look.
“Yeah… yeah, I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” frowned Hokuto, reaching forward to feel my forehead. “You’re not warm, that’s good.”
“Sorry, I just zoned out, that’s all. Why don’t we all go inside? It’s getting colder out here.”
Shohei and Kenta didn’t need to be told twice as they darted into the building, followed by Zin who was trying to wrangle them in. The rest slowly filtered inside and I noticed the two girls following as if being pulled by an invisible stream tied to their bias.
Rui was the last one outside, getting a bag from the van. As he turned toward me, I noticed the woman from the car sitting on top of the van. Just like the other two, there were sparkles and roses around her head as she stared at Rui, hearts in her eyes.
“So dreamy~” she sighed, grinning like a fool.
Rui blinked, looking at me. “Did you say something, nee-san?”
“You heard that, too?”
“Yes.”
My eyes widened at the woman. Was she not a hallucination, after all? I quickly waved at him. “Come on, Rui, let’s get inside! I think the cold is getting to our brains.”
The woman looked up, winking at me before disappearing before my eyes.

Timing
Summary: Kerry and V keep missing each other's calls, and need to work on their communication. Kerry decides to investigate what's going on with V, but is not prepared for what he will find. (Post-Sun-Ending, Chapter 2/?, 4003 words, Kerry Eurodyne/V) >> Previous Chapter
“Are you fucking shitting me?” Kerry cursed when once again all he got on the holo was the goddamn voicemail. This time he didn’t leave a message, angrily hung up, and only just resisted the urge to fling his phone off the studio roof.
“You need to work on your fuckin’ timin’, V,” he muttered, pacing around the rooftop terrace as he lit up a cigarette. Once he’d noticed the missed calls – despite everything it had been a really good day recording today – he’d immediately dropped everything to run outside. The reception in the booth was miserable. He’d been anxiously waiting for a sign of life from V from the moment he left two days ago. He’d barely slept, and now that he was back he still couldn’t get him to answer his damned holo. Kerry breathed out a huge plume of smoke through his nose, then took a deep breath in. The studio may have been in the middle of Charter Hill, but up here all he heard was the wind. He closed his eyes and tried to focus on that, visualized it blowing away all his frustration, even if only for a few minutes. Then he pulled up his holo again. Even if he couldn’t reach him now, he could at least listen to V’s voice in the two messages he’d left him.
The first one was from almost two hours ago… V had come back in one piece, at least. But as he did so often lately, he sounded so absentminded, which worried Kerry more than anything. More than the hesitation to talk about his clients, which he’d usually never been shy about, especially the stressful, annoying ones, which this one seemed to be. It worried him more than the ridiculously long hours he stayed away lately, too, ‘cause V’d been like that occasionally even before taking over from Rogue. Something in V’s voice wasn’t quite right, hadn’t been for a few weeks, and Kerry wished he’d at least let him have a glimpse into his mind… but it seemed utterly impossible to peer behind his walls, was getting harder every day. Something had happened, but he didn’t know what it was. It drove him nuts. At the same time, he wondered if he was reading too much into it, only making it worse… or if he was not doing enough and V withdrew on purpose... Would leave him, like everyone else had before.
He opened the second message before his thoughts began spiraling too much again.
“Hey back at ya. Again. Just wanted to say, I’m almost home now, just driving through Corpo Plaza.”
Yeah, Kerry could hear the noise of the rush hour traffic in the background. Ridiculous how he kept doing that to himself without thinking much about it. But V was good behind the steering wheel, and old habits were hard to kill.
“I’ve… been thinkin’ about you a lot, about us.”
Kerry’s heart almost stopped. Had he been thinking about him, about them, just like that, or… was this the start of the “we need to talk” conversation he dreaded more than anything?
“I finally had a moment to listen to your messages from earlier today, too…”
Fuck… He’d regretted leaving those the second it was too late to take them back. He’d been still half-asleep, worried sick, and honestly, a bit mad at V for the way he’d been acting lately. Had he picked up the phone then, hearing his real voice alone probably would have been enough to soothe Kerry’s anger and sadness. But he’d been out there somewhere, unable to answer, and Kerry just blurted out what he was feeling at that moment without thinking it through, talking to a wall more than to V directly.
It was true, he wished they’d spend more time together… but he also knew only too well that V was trying everything in his power to even allow them to have more time. Alt had given him six months, at most, roughly. That was over three months ago. Viktor had done everything he could to patch V up after Mikoshi, and when he was at his wits end, Kerry phoned around and gathered some of the best specialists for brain stuff his endlessly deep pockets could buy them. But all they did was quickly come to the conclusion that the tech V would need to survive this didn’t exist yet. They could ease or delay some of the worst symptoms, and maybe that could give him some additional weeks, or a month, but not much more. Hearing that almost destroyed him, and he couldn’t even imagine what V must have felt when they told him. The nights they’d both spent crying afterwards, about how unfair it was that the time they’d have with each other was so limited. So many wasted years, and V wouldn’t even get to live half the lifetime Kerry had under his belt.
And here he was, getting pissy about V forgetting to go to the grocery store. Again, the urge to toss something off the roof rose, so Kerry threw his half-smoked cigarette. He’d been so lost in thought that he didn’t even catch the rest of the message, so he had to replay it.
“I finally had a moment to listen to your messages from earlier today, too…”
The pause that followed was almost unbearable.
“I love you, Kerry, I hope you know that. ‘Cause I know I’ve been bad at showing it lately.”
“Fuck,” Kerry cursed, a huge chunk of tension falling off his back, so much so he felt the overwhelming urge to sit down on the floor for a moment. He only just caught the tail end of the message of V saying goodbye.
“Yeah, I know that, ya gonk,” he said quietly, “Now please just pick up your fuckin’ holo so I can tell you the same.”
He called, and this time V at least wasn’t talking to someone else, but he still didn’t pick up for some reason. There was no way he’d made it all the way back home already, right? Or maybe he had, no reception in the elevator. Or he was in the shower already.
“Urgh, fine!” Kerry yelled, his voice echoing across the city. He got back up, paced over to the stairwell, and jogged back down the few flights of stairs to the level the studio was on. The recording engineers were still there, sitting on the sofas by the enormous mixer console just outside the recording booth. They seemed to be enjoying their short coffee break, as Kerry had instructed them to before running upstairs, and were joking with Kerry’s new manager Lee who hadn’t been here yet before.
“Kerry!” he said, beaming with annoying joy but also flinching slightly as Kerry stormed into the room, “I have great news! I’ve been phoning back and forth with the Crystal Palace management - …”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, send an e-mail. I gotta go,” Kerry brushed him off as he snatched up his jacket from one of the chairs by the mixer and immediately turned around to leave. The engineers stared at him wide-eyed but didn’t dare to say a thing.
“But… Kerry, this is huge! Let me just-…“ Lee stammered, but Kerry was already out the door.
He was drumming against the control panel restlessly, a random little beat that wouldn’t leave his head, as the elevator took him down to the parking garage agonizingly slowly. He knew it was in vain, but he tried calling V a couple of more times before he made it to his car. Then again as he finally emerged from the darkness, greeted by Charter Hill’s fake cherry trees and glass skyscrapers gleaming golden from the setting sun. But no luck.
Kerry sighed and turned right to get on the highway. It was the less direct way home, but no way in hell he’d squeeze himself through the City Center rush hour like some people did. On the way to Little China he kept trying to reach out to V a few more times, but he didn’t answer. For a moment he pondered calling Rogue but brushed the thought aside. Why would she know anything he didn’t?
Finally, Kerry arrived in the street their penthouse sat on; the parking garage was just around the corner. Even Little China was busy around this time of day… or at least it was today. There was quite the commotion ahead. At first Kerry didn’t think much of it, slowing down his car. Traffic was still moving, but apparently redirected elsewhere. As he got closer to the intersection, he saw that the NCPD had blocked off the road, and a tow truck just arrived to get rid of the carnage of a nasty-looking car accident. An NCPD officer gestured him to turn around, and Kerry almost did without second thought. Then he looked back to the wrecks once more, he wasn’t even sure why, and his heart stopped for the second time in under half an hour. He thought to recognize V’s grey and gold Quadra V-Tech being one of the wrecks. He slammed on the breaks and froze, the guy in the car behind him honking angrily.
“Please turn around, the road is blocked!” the NCPD officer in front of him yelled over her megaphone, but only garbled nonsense reached Kerry’s ears. Almost automatically he put his car in park mode and got out.
“Sir! Stay in your vehicle!” the cop yelled, while in the background the V-Tech was prepared for getting towed.
Kerry started marching towards the police cordon, more cars behind him honking, some turning around chaotically and almost causing another accident.
“Sir!” the cop yelled again, more threateningly this time. But yes, seeing it up closer now, Kerry was absolutely sure this was V’s car. The windshield was broken, the entire front damaged almost beyond recognition, but the color and a few other details were quite unique. The other car, a red Mizutani, was in even worse shape. Lying on its roof the rescuers had cut off the doors to get to whoever had been still inside. Then Kerry saw a body covered in a white tarp a little further back behind the Mizutani, and his stomach turned.
“What happened to the driver of the grey car?” Kerry half-screamed at the cop, almost not recognizing his own voice, the noise of the traffic and his own heartbeat deafening. Only then he noticed she had her gun drawn, pointing it at him. But he did not budge, he couldn’t. He was too shocked by this entire scene.
“Sir, get back into your car, this is a crime scene!” the cop ordered, her voice shaky. Kerry couldn’t see her face behind her tactical visor, but she sounded very young still.
“What happened?” he yelled, his heart beating so fast he couldn’t think straight, he barely understood what she was saying and what was happening anymore. He turned back to face the wrecks.
“Don’t make me lose him like this, not like this…” he whispered to himself, hands on his head, clutching his hair, as his chest was about to explode.
One of the other cops at the scene noticed the commotion and sprinted over to help their younger colleague.
“Officer Riley, status report?” the cop asked loudly, her voice also muffled, but older, more seasoned sounding.
“I just wanna fuckin’ know what happened, how hard can it be?” Kerry snapped and turned back to the cops briefly, half tempted to climb over the makeshift barrier they’d set up.
“Sir, calm down,” the older cop ordered, “And Riley, put your gun down.”
The younger woman did as she was told but kept a close eye on Kerry regardless. The older one walked over to him, keeping her distance, but spoke to him directly.
“Are you a relative?” she asked sternly, but calm.
“The Quadra,” Kerry stammered, “It’s my… mainline’s car. He tried to call me less than half an hour ago…”
“Trauma Team came and picked him up only just,” the cop said, and Kerry finally managed to pull his eyes away from the wreckage to look at the cop, “He was injured, but not in a life-threatening manner as far as I’ve gathered. The shitheads that caused the accident had it much worse.”
“Where’d they take him?” Kerry asked breathlessly.
“Med Center just down the road. Now please move your vehicle out of the way!”
He sprinted back to his car, engine still running, then turned around tires screeching and sped off to the Med Center.
Everything was a blur. He didn’t remember how he got here, where he parked the car, or if he’d even turned the engine off this time, but by the time he burst into the lobby of the Med Center his mission was clear. The young guy behind the only currently available counter kept smiling but also visibly recoiled when Kerry slammed his hands on the desk.
“Can I help you –“ he stammered but Kerry was quicker.
“They just brought in someone, I need to get to him,” Kerry blurted out.
“Um, are you a relative?”
“Look it up, Vincent Ezaki. But he goes just by V,” Kerry ignored him.
“Isn’t that Kerry Eurodyne?” one of the other receptionists gasped, and several more heads turned into his direction, visitors and staff alike.
“Oh my god, yes! I was there for the premiere of ‘Off the Leash’!”
Kerry sighed. Anything for his fans, usually, but currently all that mattered to him was making sure V was okay.
“First person that fuckin’ tells me where the fuck V is and how to get to him gets a front row ticket for my next concert. Go!”
This was the fastest he’d ever gotten the information he needed at a hospital. Not even “my wife is in labor, where can I find her?” had worked as well as this. He’d had to keep that in mind for future reference. A med-tech was called and led him all the way to the correct floor – but then only to the visitor waiting area. Kerry grew angry again.
“No, I wanna see V, not sit around here like a useless piece of shit,” he complained.
“Mr. Eurodyne, that’s not possible. Mr. Ezaki –“
“V,” Kerry immediately corrected her.
“… V is in treatment, and as a Trauma Team Platinum customer receiving the best medical care available. As soon as the doctors are done you can go and see him, but please let them do their work first.”
Kerry raked his mind for a witty reply, his pulse still racing at top speeds, so much so that his biomonitor had started to alert him of his blood pressure. He took another deep breath and forcefully swallowed down his anger.
“Can you tell me anythin’ at least?” he then asked as he slumped down on one of the free armchairs she had directed him to. The space was quiet and nicely decorated with fake flowers on dainty little tables and artworks on the walls, but it still felt pretty sterile. The tech pulled up a file on her data pad and skimmed through it briefly.
“Some broken bones, bruises, scratches. The most severe injury that is currently being looked into is a possible concussion. But he was conscious and talking to our team briefly before being brought in.”
Kerry couldn’t stop his leg from bouncing and he crossed his arms as he stared down the long hallway leading here, eyes fixated on the door that said “Staff Only” in bright red letters.
“Mr. Eurodyne,” the med-tech said, following his gaze, “Please be patient. Everything’s gonna be fine.”
She patted him on the shoulder, then slowly turned to leave. Kerry got up from his chair as soon as she was out of sight. He pondered lighting up a smoke right then and there to calm his nerves, but he didn’t want to get kicked out of two hospitals for the same thing. So instead, he started pacing again, up and down the hallway, trying to get rid of his nervous energy. The fact that V was somewhere behind this door, so close and yet so far, and him incapable of doing anything to help him, was torture. Eventually he sat back down again and pulled up his holo interface. He hadn’t even noticed Lee trying to call him a couple of times through all of this. He ignored him for a little while longer, instead pulled up V’s last voicemail message again. Received at 6.48 it said. Now it was almost 8. The accident must have happened minutes, if not moments after he’d tried to call. Kerry cursed. He listened to the message once more.
“I love you, Kerry, I hope you know that. ‘Cause I know I’ve been bad at showing it lately.”
If V had died wondering whether or not Kerry knew he loved him… After the messages he’d left this morning, it was no wonder. But knowing this was what was on his mind moments before some random Tygers almost killed him… it would have killed Kerry along with V.
They both sucked at showing their love for each other lately, each in their own way. They’d both been incredibly busy, V with this mysterious gig, Kerry with the new album, barely seeing each other some days. Whatever the reasons were for V withdrawing, it played right into Kerry’s fear of being abandoned once again. And him being snappy and mad and sarcastic played right into V switching into defense mode and withdrawing even more. They needed to work on their communication, desperately, but also… when they finally had some time for each other, just the two of them alone, serious talk like that was the last thing on their minds to blow off steam.
At 8pm sharp a small notification bleeped in the corner of Kerry’s peripheral. “Feed the cat” it said.
“Ah, crap…”
What use was an automatic feeder if you’d still have to refill it so often? While Kerry still pondered who to call to delegate this task to, Lee tried calling him again.
“Well, ya did this to yourself…” he mused as he picked up.
“Kerry!” Lee exclaimed with too much enthusiasm for Kerry’s current state of mind, “So happy to reach you, what I’ve been trying to tell you - …”
“Can ya do me a big solid, Lee?” Kerry interrupted him, “Swing by my Little China pad and feed the cat, would ya?”
“Oh, um…”
Kerry ended the call before Lee could finish his sentence. Something, something, the Crystal Palace, whatever. Kerry couldn’t care less about that stupid space station right now.
Another hour or so passed, and slowly but surely the last couple of nights’ sleep-deprivation began to kick in. Simultaneously he was still on edge, his patience wearing thin at the lack of updates and information, the utter bleakness of this hallway and seating area dragging Kerry down even more. He didn’t remember the last time he’d been in such a weird state of mind… almost as if he was drunk out of his mind while simultaneously high on something that shouldn’t be mixed with alcohol. Lee had given up on calling him, instead sent a photo of Nibbles eating, and a wall of text afterwards about whatever it was he’d been trying to tell him all evening. Right when Kerry got so bored out of his mind that he almost considered reading the text, the “Staff Only” door swung open. Immediately he was wide awake again, jumped out of his chair almost.
The med-tech from earlier was back, accompanied by what he assumed was a doctor, as she wore differently colored scrubs. That’s at least how you could tell them apart on TV shows.
“How is he?” Kerry asked, his voice coming out not nearly as confident as he’d have liked it to.
“He’s sleeping but doing good overall. We gave him some pretty strong painkillers that will keep him knocked out until tomorrow,” the tech explained.
Kerry sighed, relieved and exhausted, his head spinning slightly but in a good way finally.
“There was some minor damage to some of his implants that we could fix, and he will make a good recovery regarding any broken bones. There is something though I wanted to ask you about, as his emergency contact,” the doctor said and pulled up something on her data pad. Kerry’s first wave of euphoria dwindled at the sight of a brain scan with several large areas highlighted in red presented to him.
“He suffered a concussion during the accident. Standard procedure here is a thorough brain scan, but what we found was a lot worse than what the impact could have caused. So, not having his complete medical history on file currently, maybe you can give us some insight?”
Kerry interlocked his fingers behind his head, looking at the images only with reluctance.
“Y’know, I’m no expert on that stuff, dunno what’s everything s’pposed to look like even…” he said.
“We know that,” the med-tech chimed in calmly, gently putting a hand on Kerry’s back, “But are you aware of any past trauma or illness V went through that affects his nervous system?”
Kerry dropped his arms.
“Can I see?” he said, pointing at the data pad. The doctor handed it to him. Kerry flicked through the scans, actually very familiar with the sight. He was just startled time and time again by how severe V’s condition really was, having it laid out so clearly in front of him.
“Guess ya could say he’s quite ill, yeah,” he then explained quietly, “Had a bad injury about half a year back, followed up by… I don’t even know how to describe it. I just know things kinda kept getting worse after that, and still are.”
“An infection following the injury?” the doctor asked, and Kerry laughed weakly.
“Somethin’ like that, I guess. Been told his case is pretty unique. So far, no treatments available. He can explain it better than me.”
“Do you happen to have any more recent scans available? From other clinics?” the doctor asked.
“Dr. Fuentes is conducting a study on hard to cure diseases of the nervous system,” the med-tech explained, “It might be a long shot, but maybe, a few years down the road, there will be a treatment that could help someone like V.”
“He doesn’t have a few years,” Kerry said numbly, any sparks of hope flickering in the doctor’s words immediately extinguished by the timeframe they gave, “Months, at most, we’ve been told.”
“Even so,” Fuentes said firmly, “I would like to look into this. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
“Only V can decide that,” Kerry shrugged, “But yeah, there are recent scans. Pretty sure his Ripper has somethin’ from a couple months back. ‘bout a month and a half ago we had that brain specialist have a look, uhh… Wilson, or Williams or somethin’ like that, can give ya her number. If V agrees.”
“Of course,” Fuentes nodded, keeping up the friendly professional attitude. But something in her eyes told Kerry that she meant serious business. Kerry hadn’t decided yet if it was in a way he liked or not.
“Can I go see him now?” he just asked and handed back the data pad.
“Yes, of course,” the med-tech said and led Kerry deeper into the winding intestines of the Med Center. He’d really had enough of doctors. Not even for giving them false hope, no… for seeing V as not much more than an interesting and unique case to study and dissect like a high school science project. They weren’t interested in helping, they were interested in profiting of a dying man, in furthering their careers and agenda. What was a hospital if not just another corporation, and what was a doctor if not a corpo playing dress up with a white coat…

Your head cannons are so fun and lovely! Can you do human/decepticons and forbidden love? Or maybe just Soundwave… only if you want to U.U
Again, I love your writing!
Forbidden Love w/ Soundwave
Tumblr media
Notes: i see you are a Soundwave lover. So you shall get Soundwave headcannons only home slice also sorry this took so long
He knew it damn well you shouldn't of caught his eye while he was flying
But you did,
Galloping on your mighty stead after a heard of cattle
You were rugged unlike Soundwave who was sleek and slim and all-around form-fitting and precise
So he did what any normal human/robot would do.
Went to meet you
Human form a GO, like a damn pokemon battle
She smiled watching him come up to the farm and waved him down it was hot and you don't see too many people out and about
He said something but you didn't hear him and stopped him.
"There we are! Hear ya loud and clear now! My hearing aid was off and you're on my bad side!" She smiled, "What's a man like you looking for out here!?"
A man like him? Oh yeah. He looked a bit fancy, with black pants, casual dress shoes, and a Turtle neck on.
"I saw you working."
Y/n blinked, "Oh? Seen me railin in the big girls! You intrested in buyin a few? Sorry if you're one of those big corps people. We don't sell to big corps slaughter houses."
"Why?"
"Well they defile the animal. If you're gonna kill a cow your gonna do it with humanith. And ya gonna not waste it."
You're so stern.
Hes in love
He buys two cows from you, it was 500 dollars flat. He also bought some stuff to care for the cows like two months worth of feed and a trough werid enough.
You thought it was a one time thing; till you seen him again in town at an animal supply shop.
"Oh hey! How are the two babes doin?"
"Good."
Y/n smiled, "Real glad to hear that! Never did get you're name there sir."
"Soundwave."
What, "Oh you're a DJ?" Y/n questioned, "You look like a DJ! But thats super cool!"
Sure he can be DJ if you want him to be.
DJ soundwave in the house
See the real forbidden love here is when you say goodbye to him and load your stuff into your truck, but someone stops you-
It's Smokescreen, Smokescreen stops you
"Oh hey, guys!"
OH FUCK
Now Sounds has gotta get you.
If you're already on the Autobot's side what happens if you're in love with one of them?
So he makes it a point to get your number, you know. To ask about Cow care
Yes, he has a glass tank with cows inside, like a fish tank almost, but like...transformers size.
You touch soundwaves cows. YOU DIE
Runs into you here and there in town.
He really grows on you: even inviting him over for family dinner.
He's not very talkative which surprises your family, and you're two different people
He's allowed in your room, which is surprising
You're sister who's younger actually argues about it with their mom about it
which you gladly close the door too.
"Yeah feel free to explore."
Explored a little too far and found all you're nerd shit.
"HAH! haha...Brothers...ya know them..."
"What is it?"
"Nothing! Nothing! Just a movie poster."
"I've never been to a movie."
First date? Drive-in Movie theater to watch the original star wars movie
He literally changed his alt form to drive you to a damn drive in a movie theater.
"Y/n's got a new boyfriend!!!" "Miko!"
Now Wheeljack is teasing you 100%
"OH? Is that why you're not around anymore?"
You blow him off: and you're never around much anyway to really care about Decepticon names so "Soundwave" Doesn't even ring a bell.
"What's his name? What's his name? What's his name!"
"Ugh, I swear! You're just like my brother Jackie."
You don't tell him
And you and sound wave continue to go on dates happily
He even ends up kissing you: like a kiss you were expecting? Was a shy one, not the best one you'll ever have in your damn life span
You're actually laying in the back of your truck with him one night, and fell asleep as you were star gazing.
that Autobot pendant you actually got as a homie sexual gift from smokescreen: God ratchet wishes you never taught him that phrase
But he only adverts his gaze
Turns out, The Autobots have been tracking you because the kids have voiced seeing you get into an oddly specific purple car.
and you'll get caught
You're heartbroken at the end of it, all of a sudden Soundwave's the enemy.
"No? You just don't talk now!? Dude what is your problem."
So the Autobots wanna take you home: somewhere safe and in secret.
You're even mad at them: shit you even blow up at Bumblee your so pissed.
"And you, All of you! Tracked me! What the hell is your problem!?"
You hate robots, fuck robots, you go home angry more than anything

The Fly Incident (Cosma Family Lore-ALT)
Quick Note: Let me know if you guys want a second chapter!
“Linnie, hurry up! I don’t have all damn day! You’re quite lucky we’re even doing this at all!”, Nora’s bull-like voice boomed from downstairs. Linnie sighed gently as he tucked his 3,000 year old daughter, Chelsea, into bed for a nap, kissing her lightly on the forehead before climbing downstairs to meet his wife. She stood in front of the TV with a 20oz size bottle of Honey Oak Elk bourbon in her hand and her wand in the other, while their youngest, baby Cosmo, lied on the couch, his head somewhat slouched. Rolling his eyes, Linnie approached the couch and picked up Cosmo, wrapping his arms around his bac and making sure his head was supported.
“Really Nora? You couldn’t be bothered to hold him? At the very least, you could put him in his baby rocker. He doesn’t need to be sitting like that.”, Linnie nagged, earning an eye roll from Nora.
“Oh shut up! You act like you’re the perfect parent. Now are we doing this shit or not?”, Nora snapped, making her way towards the back door, opening it, “The playoffs are supposed to be starting in an hour, and I don’t wanna miss it just because YOUR kid learned something literally everyone else knows how to do.”
“Well yes, but this is his very first time. It’s a milestone. Just until Chelsea gets up from her nap. It won’ be too long, dear. I promise.“
“Linnie! I don’t give a shit about no milestone. Let’s just get this over with so I can watch the game.”, she yelled, making Linnie flinch as the two went outside to their backyard, Linnie setting Cosmo down gently on the ground. Smiling, he knelt down so he didn’t startle him and grabbed his hands, pulling Cosmo upwards until he stood on his feet.
“Nora, would you please stand over there. I’m gonna have Cosmo walk to mommy!”, Linnie cooed towards Cosmo, his heard fluttering as his son giggled and smiled towards Nora. Nora rolled her eyes as she failed to return the smile, tapping her foot impatiently as Linnie helped Cosmo walk towards her, setting him back down gently once they made their destination.
“Yay! Great job sweetheart! You made it to Mommy! Now Nora.”, Linnie instructed, only interrupting himself seeing that her hands were still full from the bourbon and wand, “Nora, would you please put those down somewhere? I need you to help Cosmo come to me.”
“Who do you think you are telling me what to do? I don’t want people stealing my wand, and I’m still drinking this!”, she argued, swaying a little bit as she took another swig of the bourbon. Linnie frowned.
“B-But I need you to hold his hands and help him walk to me.”
“So? You’ve shown him the first time? He should be able to walk on his own now, or at least try to. Are you implying out son is stupid?”
“N-No no! Of course not. It’s just..his muscles and brain need to develop, so it takes babies some time to-“
“Oh! So you ARE calling him stupid! Tells me a lot about the kind of father you are. Calling his son stupid, bah!”, Nora took another sip on her whiskey as she dangled her wand in front of Cosmo, who started to laugh and snatched the wand out of Nora’s hand. He laughed and laughed as he shook it around like a rattle. Cosmo grew more and more fascinated with the wand as the star tip stared to glow a bright yellow and accidentally shot a beam of gold towards his parents’ direction.
“O-Oh dear! Cosmo honey, give daddy the wand please. You’re not ready yet.”, Linnie knelt down gently to offer his hand for the wand, but to no avail. Cosmo barely noticed that Linnie was there at all as he continued to play with the wand, zapping all sort of things. He managed to change a tree from a bubblegum pink to a plum purple, and shrunk a neighboring streetlight. Through his fear, Linnie couldn’t help but feel somewhat impressed that Cosmo had managed to do all of this when he wasn’t even 1,000 years old yet. However, the more Cosmo transformed the world around him, the more scared and worried Linnie had become and the more smug Nora’s face had shown.
“Well, what do you know? Our son is good for something! Look how talented he is! Not like how Darren’s lazy ass was when he was a baby-“
“Nora please! Help me get the wand from him.”, Linnie cried, now tugging on the wand, making Cosmo start to cry as his “new toy” was being taken away, “Cosmo please sweetheart, it’s not a toy..”
“You know what, MOVE! You’re wasting my time!”, Nora yelled suddenly, knocking Linnie out of the way as he fell on his seat, “Cosmo, give me the fucking wand NOW! I’m not gonna tell you again!”
Cosmo jumped and tears startled to form as the sound of her tone, all the laughter and giggling that had previously filled the air had gone. Nora lunged forward and grabbed the bottom of the star tip, tugging on it as hard as she could as Cosmo exploded into tears. His cries had gotten stronger and stronger as Nora kept yelling and curing at Cosmo, before finally, the star tip glowed once more, and a gold beat hit Nora straight in the face.
Linnie watched in horror as he watched his son transform his wife, her body shrinking to about 6 inches tall and her eyes turning into a compact back instead of her usual cyan. She had also seemed to sprout two smaller wings on top of her original wings, as her arms and limbs turned black and stick-lick, losing any muscle they previously had. Her yelling also turned into an aggressive, buzzing sound as the rest of her body turned cyan and gray; a large, ugly fly taking Nora’s place. No longer with the conscious ability to think, Nora began to fly around aimlessly as Linnie quickly picked up the wand and Cosmo, who was still crying. He tried as hard as he could to change her back, but the more she moved around, the more he missed, and the more he risked zapping things that he had not intended.
Finally, running out of breath, Nora had finally flown off and Linnie had pocketed the wand in his tan pants pocket, keeping it away from Cosmo’s hands as he reached towards it. He pulled Cosmo into a hug and rubbed his back as they made their away inside, Linnie shushing him and promising him that it was ok and that it was an accident.
“Daddy? Where’d Mommy go?”, Chelsea, his toddler daughter, asked as he was getting an after-school snack ready for her and Darren, and a bottle ready for the newly-calmed Cosmo. Linnie jumped a little bit upon hearing the question, unsure if she had heard the commotion from an hour earily.
“Um, what do you mean, darling?”
“Where did Mommy go? I heard the door close. Did you and Mommy go somewhere?”
Slightly relieved that the door was all she heard, Linnie placed the peanut butter crackers down on the table and took a seat, unsure of what to say to make her understand. He wasn’t sure when she was coming back, or even if she was coming back. For all he knew, she could have been eaten up by a frog or spider. Deciding against scaring his child, Linnie opted for a sugar-coated response until he felt she was old enough to understand what happened.
“Well…sweetheart, Mommy uhm…Mommy and Daddy had a bit of a disagreement and went out to take a break from a little while.”
“A break? A break from what?”
“Just a break, dear. She went to go something she enjoys for a little while.”
“Yeah, like bar-hopping or something.”, 7,000 year old Darren’s voice rang out. Despite being so young, Darren was quite intelligent. While he didn’t understand everything, he understand Nora’s basic patterns. If she wasn’t home, she was either working or getting black-out drunk, and given that the Fairy Academy closed early on Fridays…
“O-Oh, Hi Darren. I-I didn’t hear you come in. Um, take a seat. I’ve made you and Chelsea a snack.”, Linnie said, gently as he began to feed Cosmo the bottle. Unknowingly to the remaining household members, Nora had flown his while Darren still had the door open, and flown pretty far towards Nora’s feet. Her tiny wings giving out, she decided to land right next to Linnie’s black boot, just as Linnie stepped back and felt a small, squishing sensation from the bottom of his shoe. Placing Cosmo down in his high chair for a second, Linnie lifted his foot up, his face going white as a ghost as he saw Nora’s body smashed around his sole, her arms and legs twitching, before they stopped completely. He rushed to grab a spatula, and scrapped her body off his shoe before tossing her in he trash, his body shaking as he realized what had just happened…..

what i'm listening to 4/10/2024
spot.//yt
Limp Bizkit - Clunk: clunk. clunk clunk. clunk. clunk
Limp Bizkit - N 2 Gether Now feat. Method Man: it's backkkk and arguably never left. this didn't begin as a favorite of mine from lb but there's just so many good lines and it's so fun. discretion is advised for the blood of virgin eyes; we're limping on the track with the method
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World: perhaps one of the greatest little riffs ever conceived and also btw i am a nirvana fanboy 😁
Emma Blackery - Blossom: mostly just putting this in bc i don't think i've ever had the chance to talk about how much i adore this song. easily emma's best track, i so wish she would make more that sound like this. it fits her voice so nicely and it's just so breezy and catchy and cute..... summer's a-comin'
Suede - Animal Nitrate: this goes so insane i can't believe it took me this long to find it. and i may be prone to homosexuality... but anyway this just *sounds* sooo good, the crunchy production and the riff and the melody and oh! chef's kiss!
Staind - Mudshovel: revisiting an old favorite! i so wish to perform this song live someday.... i could make it even better. and i wouldn't be a republican about it either
Ice-T - Big Gun: PENIS ALLEGORY!!!!! and VIOLENT WOMEN!!!!!! i need to watch this fucking movie so fucking badly
Limp Bizkit - Back Porch: genuinely one of lb's best songs but completely slept on bc of its placement down at the bottom of gold cobra of all things god help us. also a returning winner from a prior WILT
Sonic Youth - Death Valley '69 feat. Lydia Lunch: sonic youth good. this song in particular hits me every time as if i'd never heard it. gay
Korn - Twist: i've taken to my funny bit of unpromptedly doing the rrh na oom rah dah nn rah mm dah oom rah dah thing in the middle of conversation
Eminem - Just Don't Give A Fuck: i will confess to having a little eminem moment these past days 🫣 but this one is genuinely so good i love his early scrappy shitty music. he just don't give a fuuuuuuck
Sublime - Santeria: this has always been my favorite sublime song bc it's so pretty-sounding and summery and it's about tracking a guy down and shoving a gun in his mouth
Big Pun - Beware: the beat is crazy but admittedly the main appeal of songs where guys say a bunch of words really fast will always be the part where the guy says a bunch of words really fast
The Decemberists - Down By The Water: mostly kind of over the whole radio alternative indie folk pop rock whatever shit but this is so prettyyy and melancholy and i love the harmonizing bc i love harmonizing
Powerman 5000 - Nobody's Real: my friends and i have been watching this music video over and over, it's so fun..... pm5k at their peak was such a cool band with all the visuals and cartoon antics. plus this shit is catchy as hell
DANGERDOOM - Sofa King: i previously thought i wasn't much of a DOOM fan, though i certainly respect the craft, but these days i think it might just be that his most popular material, the stuff people always recommend, just doesn't hit for me as much as his other stuff does (and hopefully will continue to, the more i listen). g
Twin Method - Flawless: these guys were too late to the nu metal game to really get their due (not to mention they were british; that was never a big spot for the genre) but i would posit that they were damn good for a 00s-era entry in the nu canon. this is their "big" song and it holds up pretty good!
Fudge Tunnel - Grey: checked this one out bc lol funny name but they're kinda legit. speaking of british alt metal. i almost wonder if they were on the other side of things, a little ahead of their time...
Blue - All Rise: heard this in an uber and it's been stuck in my brain ever since. i do love boy band r&b, AND i love a courtroom drama, so really i han't go wrong here. lots of brits in this installment i'm noticing

Cesar in my AU!
Cesar is interesting in my AU, as he survived the Alternate Encounter by faking his death(Look at him. He’s a theater kid. ), waiting until the Alternate moved on, and then hurried to pack a bag in a fit of panic and hurried to leave the house. More under the cut!
Trigger warnings for: Mentioned suicide, implied near-death experience, religion mention, loss of belief mention, stuff like that, please be careful, guys!
After this, he changed his name, cut his hair, quit singing entirely(No matter how much it pained him since it was a hobby he absolutely loved, but his voice was too recognizable, so he HAD to give it up. He still talks, but mostly uses sign language, despite how difficult it is for him to learn.), took on a job that he would never have taken up if he weren’t attacked by an Alternate(grocery bagger), gave up religion entirely(“What God would allow this to happen to me?”), and just changed himself almost entirely, only showing his true self if he trusts someone enough.
He has no clue about Mark’s death and just thinks he lost his phone, hence why he never answers Cesar’s calls. When he finds out, he’s crushed, but shows it in what most people would see as a “mild reaction” to being told your best friend killed himself.
This isn’t because Cesar doesn’t care, far from it, actually, he cares a lot, he just hasn’t really slept much due to the aftermath of encountering an Alternate and surviving due to him playing dead.
When Cesar is overly stressed, if he doesn’t go nonverbal, he just falls back to speaking in spanish. Jonah(haven’t talked about him yet, but I also have thoughts about him, my funky stoner pizza-loving blorbo <3) typically translates whenever he’s nearby if Cesar shuts down.
Cesar is a HUGE recluse nowadays, typically only going outside if it’s an ABSOLUTE emergency.
Overtime, Cesar breaks out of his shell, going outside slightly more often. His apartment is really well kept, as he cleans often to make sure he stays awake as long as he can.
The instant Cesar first meets Sarah, he just…hugs her. He hugs her and, for the first time since knowing about Mark’s death, cries, because he can’t imagine how badly it’s affected her.
He knew how close Sarah was to Mark, so he tries to see if he can help her in any way, which, in his eyes, is a good thing, although on Sarah’s end, it’s sorta annoying/condescending.
As time goes on, Cesar tries to understand the whole “BPS” thing, but it’s a little hard for him to wrap his head around.(When someone tells him “It’s just Ghostbusters but with Alternates” is when it clicks for him lol.)
Honestly, Cesar is a BIT of a coward, running away at the slightest bit of danger, but he slowly gets better!...slowly…VERY SLOWLY…
Oh, yeah, he has a shotgun. Did I mention that? He has it in case he runs into another Alternate.(Yes, they don’t work on Alternates, but he doesn’t know that.)
He accidentally runs into Thatcher one day. Thatcher pulls a gun on him because “YOU LOOK LIKE THAT ONE ALTERNATE”. Cesar merely sighs defeatedly because he’s too fucking tired to deal with this.
Honestly, that’s a good way to describe Cesar Post-Attack. Tired. He’s so tired, thinking can be hard for him somedays, but he never lets himself rest for too long, lest the nightmares get to him again or he risk encountering another Alternate.
If he ever met Stanley, he would scream as loud as possible, pulling EVERYONE away from him, putting himself in front of them.
He runs into Alt!Mark at one point. That goes about as well as you can expect. Most of the time, Cesar runs from danger, but this time-THIS ONE GOD DAMN TIME-he doesn’t. He can’t bring himself to move. He’s frozen in place. He has to get dragged away while he screams “WAIT, NO, PLEASE, THAT’S MY BEST FRIEND, THAT’S MARK, NO, NO, PLEASE!!!” because he can’t see past the flaws in the Alternate. He just sees Mark.
He’s still as good a cook as ever, he just seems a little…sadder whenever he does, because he can’t sing and cook like he used to. The most he does while cooking is tapping his foot and humming.
After a while, he does start singing again, as he realizes “OH SHIT I’VE HIT PUBERTY MY VOICE SOUNDS DIFFERENT I CAN SING AGAIN!!! :D”
That’s what I’ve figured out so far, but feel free to ask me anything you have questions about!

Subtle Truth
*Cyber Hanami day 4 - Gently Break It
*Not as much Kerry as I usually like, but Johnny (nearly) makes up for it.
The red hurts V’s eyes despite the sensitivity on his optics being dialled right down, alarms are flashing in the periphery of his vision, malfunctions, burn-outs, shit – his pain editors are down. He falls to his knees as the light becomes a stabbing pain in his head, crawling to follow the voice that brought him here, clenching his teeth against the onslaught. Every movement is an effort, like fighting against a turning tide, he drops further, belly to the ground and hands desperately scrabbling for purchase to pull himself forward, to reach the end.
He wakes in utter darkness, he opens and closes his eyes a couple of times to check, but soon realises it makes no difference at all, so he leaves them closed. He’s got no way of marking the passage of time, he feels like it’s been a while, but whether that means an hour or a week well, fuck only knows. If this is the end, he guesses he’s kinda ok with it, boring but peaceful is probably the very best he could’ve hoped for.
Some indeterminable time later, a distant sound catches his attention, for lack of any other stimulus he focusses on it absolutely. It starts as a hum, a vibration in the air more than a sound, over time it takes the shape of (maybe) a voice, but still too distant to make out any words. V drifts off, his mind conjuring pictures to try to make sense of the vacuum he finds himself trapped in, Kerry’s soft touch to his cheek, Jackie’s laugh, Misty’s concerned and caring face, Johnny murmuring his name.
His eyes fly open, he frowns, the red is back though he finds it less bothersome than before, but he’s sure he didn’t imagine it so he remains motionless and breathless. There it is again, slowly he stands, unsure if he’s even able and taking a moment to remember how to walk he moves in the direction of the sound.
“V, finally! What took ya?”
He doesn’t have anything approaching a sensible answer, stumbling to reach where the other man stands he catches himself from falling with a hand on his shoulder, and is surprised to find that it actually works.
“Yep, I’m just as real as you are here choom,” Johnny smiles, “but that’s not sayin much.”
“Wh…where are we?  Is this…Mikoshi?”
“Home sweet home kid. You just missed Alt, she explained some shit that I didn’t really get, but I guess you’re an engram now like me.”
V nodded dumbly, he’d come to the conclusion a long time ago that the only way he’d be saved would be to put him on a damn chip, didn’t mean he had to like it though. “So, what now?”
“Dunno, guess the hard part’s done. Alt’ll pop you back in your body and you’re good to go.”
The men stand looking at each other for a long moment, V is the first to break, waking past the other man to stare at the odd structures in the distance.
“Johnny?”
“Mhm?”
“I…I’ve got kinda used to having you around, is there no way we can…y’know…both make it back?”
Johnny raises a surprised eyebrow, he and V had been getting along lately it was true, but if the boot was on the other foot, he’d’ve been sprinting over that bridge without looking back – at least the old Johnny would.
“Nah, this was only ever meant to be a short-term thing,” he flinches inwardly at using a cheesy line like that that he’d used on so many others in the past, “ one and done. I died V,  should never have been able to come back, and if some crappy merc hadn’t made some shitty life choices I never would’ve.” He grins at V’s scowling face before carrying on, “You did me a favour, gave me an extra six months of life, a chance to build some bridges, now I can do the same for you.”
V's eyebrows knit together, “What fucking bridges? Apart from having a fucking parasite in my head it was all good…”
“Yeah, more the other part…”
“What?” V can see that Johnny is being serious, his legs lose the battle and he sinks gracelessly down onto the floor, “Six months…?”
Crouching down to be eye to eye with the merc, Johnny puts what he considers to be a soothing hand on V’s shoulder, “Sorry V, Alt seemed pretty sure. Something about irreversible changes, the body being configured to me now, some kinda techno shit.”
“So….you could live in the body….i…if I gave it to you I mean?”
Abruptly, Johnny stands and begins to stalk away, “Johnny, wait!” V calls stopping the rocker in his tracks to glare over his shoulder at the merc.
“Don’t wanna hear your shit V. Always said I’d go when the time came and I always carry through on a promise.”
“But Johnny….”
“Not interested, you’ve got people who need you V, people who care, I’ve got fuck all to go back to ‘cept memories and bad feelings.”
V watches helplessly as Johnny’s back disappears into the distance, his thoughts are reeling, six fucking months, shit, what’s the point for six months of pain, of misery? With eyes screwed tight shut his chin sinks to his chest and he grasps his arms around his knees letting a violent shiver rip through his body – or this version of it anyway.
A phrase rises unbidden into his mind, ‘Where there’s life there’s hope,’ one of the hokey things Jackie used to say, V never thought it made sense, til now. Vik wouldn’t let him down, if he couldn’t fix it, he’d find a way to make it bearable; the Aldecaldos had all sorts of medical tech, they’d come up with something; and then there’s Kerry, how could he have even considered leaving him alone, the gonk would be a mess without him.
Unfurling himself, V meets Johnny at the crossroads, “OK, I guess I’m ready, what do I do?”
Johnny points over the way with his cigarette “Keep going, don’t look back.”
“What’s gonna happen to you?”
“I’m going with Alt to the other side of the blackwall, fight the corpo scum from the inside, won’t know what’s hit em.”
V puts a hand on his friend’s shoulder, “Give em hell from me too,” he growls before making his way over the bridge. Half way across he turns remembering a hundred things he wanted to say, but the other man is gone so he carries on, without looking back.

Hello!! I just wanted to say that I read your Undertale fic "the last mage" last night, and I absolutely loved it!!!
I was a bit skeptical at first but it absolutely pulled me in as I read more, I love how you wrote Iris & the other characters, and the plot was pretty clever and a very interesting idea! And it was very fun to make the choices and find the dialogue Easter eggs
I got the starshine ending on my first go, and I'll admit I haven't checked out the other routes, but damn that ending was everything I had hoped for and more!! It made me so happy that everyone got a happy ending (well, except Asgore. Rip) and I loved the relationship with Sans and how it progressed so so much.
It has absolutely become one of my favourite fics ever, and I am going to treasure it forever. So, thank you so much for writing such an amazing fic.
And a side note, the cover art was indeed absolutely gorgeous! And it helped having an image of iris in my head I read. You've a very talented friend and it's so great you've commissioned them to draw such a stunning piece.
P.s I may have accidentally sent an ask before this by accident, as I wasn't finished typing. I don't think ive even got past "hello!!" So uh woops? I'm sorry, and I would very much appreciate it if you ignore that & delete it (especially since it may have turned off anon, this is a alt blog anyway, but I'm especially shy 😅)
Oh my gosh thank you so much for saying so!! I very sincerely enjoyed writing it even though I knew it wouldn't be everyone's first choice of something to read, so I'm very pleased you gave it a chance! Iris is still one of my favorite reader characters I've ever written and I had such a blast writing the Undertale cast. Starshine is my personal favorite ending and even though it's kind of strange that Undertale in general has a Thing™️ about not reading the other routes, it's kind of unique to the fandom and a precious sort of meta-trust to just leave the other routes as they are despite the fact that we know all the characters are fictional. I wrote the thing and I still only re-read starshine when I read it! I'm so so pleased that you took such a liking to my fic and it's such an honor and so lovely to hear that it's one of your favorites, you have no idea how encouraging that is and how long that sticks with a writer, no matter how big or how small their following, we come back to comments like these on good days and bad ones and just remember that somewhere out there there's someone who took a chance on a fic they were skeptical of and now it's one of their favorites and a treasured memory and if that's not motivation to keep writing - what is? I'll definitely pass on your comments about the cover too!! I'm lucky to have such a talented friend in the Undertale artist community haha she's just so good! And you're right, having that image of Iris definitely helps when having a named reader since it's a little out of the ordinary for a second-person perspective story! P.S. No problem haha you're all good - sometimes people "test" my mailboxes by dropping a greeting or something first to see if it works and then leave a longer ask, so I answered it right away, but I deleted it since you requested me to! 💗

for @siadea (and anyone else who is interested)
A first draftish thing about the Convoys, who will eventually get their entry in the VOS concordance. (but it won’t centre so much on Jazz and Orion) @sharkteethies @bitegore @siadea and so on
So VOS/AHR was originally intended to be an IDW1 AU, but the thing is that I was 20 in 1984, and as i got deeper into trying to fix the things that made me ragequit IDW1 (mostly, Ravage’s senseless refrigeration and death, but a few other things besides) I kept running into things that I just couldn’t swallow.
For instance, I think Glit being at Grindcore is brilliant. It explains a lot of things--like how Megatron managed to not kill him and not lose face with the bloody butcher side of his infrastructure, and why he has such a horrible drinking problem by the time he meets Rosanna, to name a few.
But I can’t deal with Lugnut being in Deathsaurus’ crew, because that requires Lugnut to have turned against Megatron, and anyone who is really familiar with who Lugnut is knows that even Megatron turning Autobot wouldn’t turn Lugnut against him, although it might put Lugnut in a psych ward.
Once I accepted that my fic was going to be largely IDW-based Canon Soup, though, a lot of things started needing explanations.
As y’all know I liked a lot of the Japanese canon including some of the questionable bits. There are a half zillion characters in Japanese canon named [X] Convoy, and the original OP was just Convoy.
Additionally, I am one of those spooky “my characters talk to me” people who will give you the stinkeye if you demand that I look at things through a Doylist lens.
So this is all stuff I got out of writing Jazz, and specifically writing Jazz trying to answer Starscream’s message and Jazz trying to make friends with Viridian after he understood she used to be Blackcat and didn’t realise she was a sparkling rather than a small adult.
In VOS canon, Functionism and a fair number of other social problems came from Iacon’s dominance over all the other Cybertronian polities following the defeat of the Quints. The religious hierarchy of the Primacy and the corruption of the Senate resulted in Iaconian domination of the planet.
The Convoys are descended from the residents of one of the citystates that was lost to the Quintessons (although for the most part, the existence of the Quints has been scrubbed from official archives). They believe that staying in one place is a Bad Idea and since they are nearly all motor vehicle alts, mostly cars and trucks, with a few emergency vehiclles, family/tribal groups (Convoys) of them travel the roads of Cybertron together in caravans.  They don’t all travel together because that would allow them to be picked off; they live in a nomadic sort of diaspora.
The Functionists particularly didn’t like this, so they were in the habit of breaking down these groups when they stayed too long in one place or started hanging around hot spots and taking in new members.
After they took out the adults the young were sent to residential education centres.
And that is why there are so many people named Convoy who are trucks.
Jazz was an entertainer, not a heavy labourer, so he was never a truck; he was always a flashy car.  But he and Orion both came from a Convoy that was crushed by Functionists, and Orion spent the rest of his mentorship years with dockworkers in Iacon before being drafted into law enforcement; Jazz, who was a little older, got away from them and became a travelling musician, moving through several coastal cities before the war.  Having never lived in Iacon or Kaon or Rodion, after he joined the Revolution, he chose to follow Orion when Megatron and Orion, as he put it, “lost their damn minds”.
While in the beginning of the war he would have made an excellent Decepticon and it is kind of odd that nearly all of the people from the Convoys who joined a side picked the Autobots, Jazz would probably have got himself killed pretty quickly once Megs went off the rails, so that is probably why we still have him.

A reference drawn for the sake of getting a commission done. I'm gonna use this as a springboard to chat about the ~design process~ for Bait here.
Initially my only thought for her design was "nice ass a la Beast Wars" because I got a look at the Beast Wars butts and went "damn i like that". So that's the context for her entire design: I wanted something sexy with booty ass for days. IN order to make that work I just leaned hard into the self-indulgence, so I also decided she'd be a dragonformer, and because I love IDW 2005 Arcee I decided she'd also have the kind of vibes like if you left her alone for too long someone would end up dead, but also because I love G1 Vortex I wanted her to have the kind of vibes that she's like that on purpose and does it for fun. Aaaaand then I didn't bother to do anything with that concept for like two months.
I finally sit down and I'm like, "alright, I'll design this OC into something so I can draw her." But a crucially important fact about me is that I am not creative enough to make my own TFOCs and also have them look like TF characters. I had one or two oc designs outside her, and universally the design language was just always off. And unfortunately I care a great deal about that. So I used a different tactic and just... took like the top 10 most sexy characters in The Transformers and cut up every part of their designs I liked and smacked them together.
The head fin/vent back shapes were largely borrowed from Drift; the vents were nabbed from a whole bunch of different places but the silhouette of them was largely referenced off of First Aid and Vortex; the visor I got from a few different (very cute) fan designs of Optimus Prime; the little V chevron came from Ratchet and the little glowing detail behind it came from Pharma. The two-toned mask was my own idea, but the mask and visor setup references Soundwave, who has almost the same face without the ability to swing his mask open and turn someone into paste with his teeth.
The shoulders and the chest cockpit detail (if memory serves, anyway) came from the Flame Toys take on Starscream. The claws are a very vague reference to some Grimlock toy I'd seen before. The rotors came from Vortex. The lights on her chest were loosely inspired by Tarn. Her hips were inspired by Arcee's (specifically in IDW 2005's Robots In Disguise/The Transformers ongoing), down to the lights, but cut out significantly to allow room for a beast wars style round as hell butt. The alt mode kibble was also vaguely inspired by the same Arcee, because I didn't want to bother figuring out how her alt mode worked or looked so I just slapped some junk on there aand called it a day. The two-toned titties were homegrown, and the actual torso shape was just my "generic Transformer torso", with a narrow waist and top-heavy dorito chest.
There wasn't really much going on with her legs; most transformers have a pretty standard leg design (one relatively narrow upper thigh and a much chunkier "boot"/lower leg. She got talons because I said so, and the rest of it was just me throwing whatever kibble I thought could stick there. Her knees are the same shape and color pattern as her tits, though, so that that wasn't as silly, and she has a pair of tail rotors in her outer calves that were referenced vaguely from Combiner Wars Vortex's silly arm things.
I got the color scheme from a gaming computer and the triangle patterns from my brain. Thus concludes the Design Process.

florida is literally one of THE worst states to live in not just for lgbt people but for the young and, honestly, anyone who doesnt give a damn about disney or entertainment
im witnessing the only green parts of florida slowly get commercialized into cookie cutter houses and mother-fucking DOLLAR GENERALS around every corner. all of my neighbors are tr*mp fans or heavy alt-right supporters. no young person here stays for very long (why would they) but it’s detrimental for people like me who can’t afford to move away, so im stuck battling my own demons as a shut-in. i neither recognize nor have befriended anybody even by frequenting places often because management sucks THAT BAD OUT HERE.
not to mention: there are no seasons. It’s straight summer through and through. It gets as low as 70 AT BEST and that was 2 years ago. i dont feel the holiday spirit anymore because it just doesnt feel like it. No leaves falling off trees because the native trees here have acclimated to the year-round summer, and no snow because it’s, well, the south. my grandparents have also passed away and my own parents are getting older and neither of them feel like celebrating holidays anymore because there’s no one on their end to turn to. they won’t even like… set up a tree or write cards anymore. It’s become so depressing to see my parents age alongside me too.
i want to be a nurse so i can make good money and leave them behind. I love my parents but i can’t live here. I dont know how or why they thought this would be better when i, out of my whole family, have seen everyone become worse. its sad that i have to work myself to achieve a high-paying job instead of one that i actively want just to obtain some sense of freedom. I dont want to live here anymore.
Even then it will take years for me to gain enough money to move out, but by then it may be too late. Perhaps there will be another pandemic, war, or heat so bad i can’t walk outside, because right now it’s cramping my knees and making me sick to my stomach.
i know this is mainly negative, but i still look forward to that day. I just feel bad it took me so long to realize i need out. I wish there was an easier way i could have handled this instead of the way that i did.

benny no hill adventures (bnha) s2e17-20
why DOES this man have no nose, anyway?
think this OP's growing on me more than the other ones tbh
"look properly at what you want to be" damn I wish I wanted to be anything
hm. is Stain cleaned up, then? nobody's been dying so far, I doubt they did him in by accident (in spite of, y'know, covering him with fire, which can fry your lungs like instantly according to a CSI episode I saw once)
okay, now THAT is either a dead nomu or Mr X, no way that's not lethal force
Tumblr media
huh, Brooklyn has a hostage (starting to kind of miss that show, but dang did Goliath Chronicles get boring) -- elemental spears? who are you, Gwyn?
"the fight with Stain probably only took ten minutes" I've played DnD. ten minutes is forever. heck, ONE minute is a long time.
…whut
-- well I guess that one's explicitly a dead nomu
handface's costume just kind of looks like nothing when he's only got the one hand on him. looks like a shitty onesie. thought wearing baby clothes was mineta's bag
:O he DOES have a nose. I guess it was burned off, maybe? kinda looks like michael jackson's, tbh
"at that moment, a broken rib pierced his lung" …deku did you just kill a man
"on that water tower. are those onlookers? why's one of them wearing a black onesie?" wait I think it's not a onesie, I think it's a black long-sleeved shirt with completely featureless black pants but wow is that just not even a look, especially next to portal guy's fucking classy bartender getup
-- googles sorry, apparently what I thought it was was a romper
the piece of chileaf is a dog man. …idk, tracks (as it were) I guess? one of the detectives is a catperson.
-- …this "we have to punish you for intervening but only if this is made public" bit is very long-winded and, tbph, not really understandable. hell, the kids were doing some kind of ride-along thing to begin with, and considering they're all effectively armed and far closer to combat-ready than makes any sense outside of shonen… yeah this kind of just feels like a waste of time. although I guess, realistically, if superpowers became the norm it'd take hella long for any country's laws to be able to change enough for anything to make sense
-- …come to think of it, america would probably encourage this kind of thing but holy shit the place would just look like a pile of warring apocalypses by a couple generations in, the life expectancy would be down the toilet
there was some kid's show that had dog heads on top of human bodies, it was a bit terrifying and I have no earthly idea what it was called but I'm sure it was real. might've just been one segment of a different show
this random newscaster guy either is part tiefling or just wandered in from jojo part 6
Tumblr media
DANCING BOY. IT'S THE DANCING BOY, THE BOY WHO DANCES. IS HE THE GUY MAKING NOMUS, DON'T TELL ME -- wait, nomu. yoshimitsu soul calibur, that's what it's been reminding me of. 's one of his mantras.
if a radio buzzes in the forest and no one is around to hear it - oh nvm, apparently alt-color Blanka is around to hear it
ohey it's knife girl… shit, I've sort of heard a little bit about her quirk, wonder if she's a relative of stain's
…wait, handface was literally just competing for ratings? what a loser.
hehehehehe bakugo still has that boy band reject 'do
'XD (todoroki going "I must be cursed, people around me keep fucking up their hands!")
(all might's ringtone) "I AM… ANSWERING THE PHONE LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
"stain's Cha stat is too high" krisma. bags of it. -- "those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one. and if they ever figure that out…" um, good thing Stain and Every Villain is Losers have nothing in common then.
I thought facepalm's only motive was killing all might. stain apparently thinks All Might's "the only true hero." …shrugs Well, I guess we haven't seen any of these copycats or whatnot actually interacting with the League yet, so maybe those auditions won't go anywhere and they'll have to start their own thing
todoroki: "they said endeavor defeated the killer when he didn't actually do anything. I want to see his expression." deku (to himself, thankfully): "you become kind of mean when it comes to endeavor, huh todoroki?" …! deku. deku wtf, you say the weirdest fucking things
…jeanist's costume is so friggin weird, it has a built-in cone of shame and the cone has a belt on it, I can't get over it
bakugo's fucking internship hair tho 'XD he looks like a snooty nepo baby, rather than… well, the opposite I guess… but anyway, rather than a guy who had to be put in a Hannibal costume after winning first place
jeanist's cone of shame has fucking back pockets, really tho wtf
'XDDD the fucking slime monster hostage thing again, bakugo is gonna be hit over the head with that for the rest of his life and it is gonna be hilarious every time -- "I wasn't captured, I was strategizing" "he's too proud" water's damp
gonna say. earphone jack's costume might be my favorite. it's just regular fucking clothes. it's, like, idk, stylish-(?)-but-not-overstated, normal-ass, comfortable-looking clothes that you can run in. (I might have already said this, not sure)
(froppy's internship with the smugglers or whatnot) "Boss Innsmouth" oh, that bodes well -- Innsmouth must be the Parent Inkling, judging by the size of that tentacle -- …hm. aye, that was fun
next one's a loredump, judging from the title, but let's have it
it's not a big thing, but I swear I don't remember iida always waving his arms around like this in season 1. he just kinda started doing it around the beginning of season 2. still feels kinda weird tbh.
let yaoyozorazoru - …let quiet metal gear (sorry) wear clothes challenge whatever year this was
(rescue race) "who do you think will win?" "deku will be last!" 'XD bakugo could be watching a competition with neither him nor deku in it and he'd still say that
all might with the american thighs. gonna be honest, was not expecting buttcam in this show.
Tumblr media
(worst character found something) oh, for fuck's sake -- (kyoka put his eye out) damn straight.
("you remember how One for All is transferred, right?") uhhh… -- JESUS CHRIST
Tumblr media
…well dang, ancient evil and everything huh (well, if a handful of generations counts as "ancient." a forgotten evil anyways) -- "as long as you're with me, I can do anything!" you're talking to a guy who coughs up blood every coupla minutes when he's not in super mode
seems like a decent stopping point. -- …they hid more episode after the ending; I coulda missed this bit. : / …I coulda missed mineta yelling about hot springs, anyway. is there anything here that I wouldn't just get from the next episode? -- "that kid will be the next me" dint know orochimaru was in this show
"here's the preview!" thanks for the warning deku; aye, this's my stop

Tags: Dream x GN!Reader x Sapnap, Top!Dream, Top!Sapnap, Btm!Reader, 3k Words, Double Penetration, Fingering, Degradation, Praise, Daddy Kink (sorta), Competition, inspired by Sapnap’s latest alt stream where they went back and forth between who could last the longest.
Masterlist and Info
Dream and Sapnap had to make everything into a competition. Who could clean faster, who could cook better, who loved Patches more, everything. Now their latest bout of competition has fallen upon your shoulders, and you have to help them figure out who wins this time.
Living with Sapnap and Dream had it’s ups and downs. Grade A wagyu beef, unlimited cuddles,  and living with you best friends were the ups. Your roommates’ constant arguments and competitions were the downs. Sometimes they ended well, with you getting to choose who cooked better, or once they cleaned the entire house because they wanted to see who could do a better job, leaving you with no chores to do. However most of the time they just ended in pointless back and forth yelling for a good few hours.
MCC was coming back, and all of you had been separated into separate teams. This only made Sapnap and Dream’s competitiveness worse. Not only were they competing against each other, but all the other streamers as well, and after months of no practice, they were a little rusty on the mini games.
“What kind of psychopath plays Hole in The Wall for an hour and five minutes!?” Dream yelled into his mic as you and Sapnap hopped back onto the platform for another go.
Sapnap had ended his stream awhile ago, but you all decided to keep practicing, allowing you to talk about the things you can’t while on stream.
“I have no idea, but I doubt he’ll last that long in the actual competition,” you said, trying to calm everyone’s nerves.
Dream was about to agree with you, until he got knocked off the platform again. “What the hell!”
Sapnap started laughing at his friend’s struggle, only making him angrier.
“Oh shut the fuck up, Sapnap, I’ve lasted longer than you have every time.”
“You can’t last longer than I can,” Sapnap said, trying to poke the bear.
“Yes I can! Both of you come down so we can reset and we’ll see who can go longer.” Dream said as he stared at you flew off the platform, and Sapnap jumped off.
“Fine, but I we all know I can last longer,” Sapnap said in a way that suggested he was referring to something other than Minecraft. You just rolled your eyes despite having your camera off. However, you would be lying to yourself if you said his suggestive tone didn’t wake up the butterflies in your stomach.
Dream laughed at Sapnap’s words, “Oh yeah? Why don’t we put you to the test then?” he replied in an equally flirtatious manner. A deep blush was starting to form on your face. Being completely honest, you had a major crush on both of your roommates. Dream was tall, strong, and handsome. Sapnap was loyal, cute, and soft. You may have had one too many dreams of the both of them... having their way with you. The contrast between both their personalities sending dream you into a spiral of pleasure.
There were times when you thought for a second that they may have similar feelings for you. Once when you and Sapnap were having a ‘friendly’ cuddle and watching anime. You had both fallen asleep, and you woke up with his hand you your thigh and his very obvious hardon against your ass. You hadn’t know what to do, so you quietly slipped out of his arms despite your heart telling you other wise. As you opened his door, you quietly heard him murmur your name in his sleep.
Dream was more subtle with his emotions. Small touches, glances, and blushes were what cued you into his possible feelings, it was just that you always felt you might have to choose between them both. However choosing one may ruin your friendship with the other, and you valued that more than any relationship. So you vowed to just keep quiet and let your hand fill in for them.
“HELLOOO?!” Sapnap’s yelling had brought you out of your thoughts. “You still there?”
“Y-yeah, sorry. I was just lost in thought,” you replied, jumping onto the platform to continue your practice.
“Well, Dream and I want you to help us settle our debate.”
“About who can last longer in Hole in The Wall? Why not just play and see?”
Dream laughed, “No idiot, who can last longer.” There was that flirtatious tone again. Sapnap was laughing slightly.
You were at a loss, do you play it safe and act innocent, or do you play up their banter. There was almost a 0% chance this ended in a threesome. Almost zero, but not quite.
“Oh gosh,” you said in a breathless tone, “I’m not sure? I think I might need to know what you guys can do.” There, not asking to get fucked, just asking what they would do to you should you get fucked. Now the worse that could happen is you have more inspiration for your late night alone time.
Dream let out a small laugh, “Do you really want to know?”
“Well of course, I have no idea good you both are, so in order to give an informed decision I need to know all the dirty details.” This felt like the start up to a bad porn film, but at this point you’ll say anything to be sandwiched in-between the two.
“Hmm, that does make sense... However, I have noticed you’re more of a visual learner. Why don’t we just come over there and show you what we can do,” Dream said, logging off the MCC server.
Sapnap laughed, “Ooo~, then we can know for sure who can last the longest.”
“Get over here then,” you encouraged, “At this pace it seems like I’m gonna last the longest.” You definitely were not.
Neither Sapnap nor Dream took the time to disconnect from the Discord call. You heard their steps bounding up the stairs and down the hall to your room. Sapnap was the first to barge into your room.
“There.” He demanded, pointing to your bed. You were quick to follow his orders, pinching your arm slightly on the way there to make sure you weren’t dreaming.
Dream came into the room as you lied down, coming over and setting a box of condoms and a bottle of lube on your nightstand. He stood over you and just stared down. You tried to avert your eyes, which fell onto Sapnap, his dick showing through his sweats.
“So Sap, how do you want to go about this.” Dream asked, taking his eyes off you to look at Sapnap, who didn’t take his eyes off you.
“We could each take a side? I want their mouth...” He said with a small smile on his lips.
“Fine with me,” Dream replied with a shrug. He flipped you over onto your stomach and gave a solid smack to your ass. “You sure you’re okay with this?”
“Never been more sure of anything,” you replied. It was the truth, you wanted this more than you have every wanted anything else. Doesn’t mean you weren’t nervous as hell. You’d never had a threesome before, and doing so with your roommates that you had a major crush on was nerve racking.
Sapnap stood in front of you and lifted your head up with his hand. He gave you a small kiss on the lips, before pulling away and throwing a condom at Dream. “We need to start at the same time so it’s fair.” Sapnap took his shirt off as Dream helped pull yours over your shoulders.
“Of course, we need to make sure they’re prepped first though. However that might make it a little unfair to them...” Dream said as he continued to undress you.
“We can just add a couple minutes onto their time.” Both you and Sapnap were down to just your underwear, while Dream was still fully clothed. Sapnap crawled onto the bed and sat on his heels in front of your face. He reached down and kissed you again, however this time it was much more than a small peck.
Dream just sat back and watched as you and Sapnap made out, your ass in full display for him as you held yourself up on all fours. Your small moans went straight to his dick, and it didn’t take long before he started to palm himself through his shorts.
He let out a small moan that caused Sapnap to open his eyes and look over at his best friend. He managed to smirk at him with your tongue still in his mouth, and his cocky attitude broke Dream out of his trance. He was supposed to make this last, not get himself off. He quickly pulled his shirt and shorts off before pulling your underwear down and giving another smack to your ass.
“Sapnap, hand me the lube,” Sapnap huffed at Dream’s request, having to break away from you, a small line of saliva connecting your lips for a moment before breaking apart. He threw the lube at Dream and went right back to your lips.
Dream opened the lube and applied a generous amount to his fingers. He slowly circled one around your entrance, the cold lube sending a shiver down your back. He suddenly thrust his finger into you, causing you to let out a loud moan against Sapnap’s lips. Dream’s finger worked you open while trying to hit all the right spots, and when he found it he added a second finger before ramming into it over and over again.
Sapnap pulled away from you, causing your face to fall into the mattress. He quickly took his boxers off before slowly stroking his dick, watching you get finger fucked by his best friend. At this point he had three fingers inside of you, and it made you wonder how big his dick was that he needed this much prep.
“You think you can take it now?” He asked while slowly scissoring his fingers inside of you. All you could do was nod weakly.
He slowly pulled his fingers out of you and took off his own underwear, dick twitching at the cool air. You looked up at Sapnap when he let out a small “Damn” at the sight of his best friends dick, Sapnap was about average in length but thick. You turned your head over your shoulder and saw Dream’s as he rolled the condom on. He was about the same thickness as Sapnap, but a good six to seven inches in length, and you now knew why he took so much time to prep you.
“Okay we go in at the same time,” Dream lightly patted your ass, “You ready?” He asked.
You nodded, and looked up at Sapnap before opening your mouth for him. He grabbed your face and Dream grabbed your hips, both steadying their dicks at your entrances. They looked up at one another, nodding, and slowly pushed in. Sapnap stopped at just the tip, letting out a high pitched whine. Dream on the other hand pushed all the way in, stopping to let out small pants once he bottomed out. He gave you a second to adjust, before slamming into you, pushing Sapnap’s dick deeper down you throat.
Dream set a slow but steady pace as you sucked on Sapnap’s dick, the force of Dream’s thrust causing you to bob your head slightly. Sapnap had one hand on his dick, the other gripping your hair has he looked up at the ceiling.
Dream laughed at his friend’s face, “Oh come on now, you could at least look at the slut, taking both of our dicks so well.” He smacked your ass again before thrust into you harder. It caused Sapnap’s dick to go all the way down your throat. He moaned louder than ever as you gagged around him.
“Oh god... So good for me... You’re doing so good baby...” Sapnap said as he pet your hair. The contrast of Dream’s degradation and Sapnap’s praise causing your head to spin.
“Yeah they are good at this, I wonder how many people they let do this to them. What do you think? They probably fuck anyone who looks at them. Oh well, it’s our turn now. I’ll use them up until they can’t walk anymore.” Dream continued to talk, but you barely understood what he was saying.
Your moans were muffled by Sapnap, the vibrations causing his dick to twitch in your mouth. “Oh fuck yes baby, just like that. You take daddy’s dick so well...”
Everyone was snapped out of their trance when Dream’s pace faltered and he began to wheeze, “DADDY?!” He yelled, folding over you, tears falling from his eyes from laughed. You pulled Sapnap out of your mouth as you began to giggle as well.
“W-what? I didn’t say that!” He stammered.
“Yes you did,” you replied, smiling up at them. “Do you really like me that much, daddy?”
“I-I, uhh, I... I mean... Y-yes?” Sapnap’s brain faltered at hearing you call him daddy. He just shook his head and grabbed your face. “Both of you shut up. We’re trying to prove a point with all of this. Hey, is it okay if I just fuck your face.”
You nodded, mouth falling open with a moan as Dream roughly thrust into you once he had caught his breath. He was somehow hitting all the right places with every hard thrust. Sapnap took this opportunity to roughly thrust his own dick down your throat. You gagged a little, causing you to tighten around Dream’s dick. He let out a loud moan, large hands gripping you harder.
This was bad, you were getting close. While you were nowhere near as competitive as Dream and Sapnap, you still wanted to see how long you could last. It wasn’t quite equal, you thought. You were getting pleasure from two places while they where only receiving it from one. Dream fingering you also didn’t help.
Dream snapped you out of your thoughts as he laughed lightly again, “Awww, are you close already? Dumb slut can’t even last long enough for us. How long have you been waiting for us to take you? Do you think I don’t notice you staring at us at dinner, or the way your hands grip your thighs whenever we cuddle you. I’ve even heard you screaming our names when you touch yourself. Such a fucking slut, I bet you wanted me to hear you and come in and do something about it just like I am now.” You were almost crying at how good you were feeling, Dreams strong hands smacking your ass as he continued to call you names.
All of the sudden Dream hit your sweet spot one to many times, and you were coming all over his dick, and moaning around Sapnap’s. “Oh fuck yes, come for me,” Sapnap said, the pain of him gripping your hair fading into the pleasure of your orgasm.
“Heh, that’s one down,” Dream said as his pace slowed down to let you ride out your orgasm. He reached his hand out to Sapnap for a high five, who just rolled his eyes and let him have it.
Sapnap would be lying if he said he wasn’t close. The feeling of you moaning around his cock, and the sight of you taking the both of them was too much for him to handle. He just watched as his dick went in and out of your soft lips, saliva dripping down your chin. It was getting harder and harder for him to care about this dumb competition. Who cared who could last the longest? He had the most amazing person sucking him off, and that’s all he cared about.
Despite his cocky attitude, Dream was just as close as Sapnap. He was the real slut who thought of fucking you every chance he could, but he would never let that one. He watched as your ass jiggled with every strong thrust against his hips. However, he did want to win this competition, yet it was hard to focus on doing math in his head when you were almost screaming around Sapnap’s dick from overstimulation.
Sapnap’s whine just got louder as tears started to run down your face, and just a few more thrust into your throat and he was pulling out to cum all over your face. You opened your mouth to catch some of his cum on your tongue. Sapnap just watched in awe as your tried your best to catchy his cum in your mouth, the rest dripping down your cheeks and off your face. The force of his own orgasm caused him to fall back onto his ass, with your face falling onto his pillowy thighs.
Dream had won, but to him all that meant was he could finally focus on chasing his own release. He reached over to push your head down more into Sapnap’s thighs, cum, drool, and tears mixing on your face and his thigh.
Dream pounded into you, feeling you clench around him as he sped up. “Look at you, covered in cum and you’re still taking my dick. Want more you fucking slut? Want me to come all over your back so you can have more, huh?” Dream said, when you didn’t answer he gripped your hair and pulled you up to have his face against yours. “I asked you a question, whore. Do you want my cum or not?”
A weak “Yes,” was all you could muster before Dream dropped you back down onto Sapnap’s thighs, who just looked on in awe in his own post orgasmic haze. Dream’s pace faltered a bit before he gave a few more rough thrust right into your sweet spot, leading to your second orgasm of the night. It didn’t take long for Dream to pull out, pulling the condom off before stroking himself to cum all over your ass. He threw his head up moaning loudly before collapsing against your back.
You all lied there for a few minutes, catch your breathes as you all finally came down from the events of the night. Dream gently stroked your arms and Sapnap did the same with your back.
The quiet moment was broken when Dream started to laugh, “I win.”
“Oh shut the hell up,” Sapnap said, “I’ll beat you next time, that is if you want a next time.”
Both boys looked down at you expectantly. “Nah, I’ll win for sure.” All three of you laughed slightly before falling back into comfortable silence. The idea of this becoming a regular occurrence sounded quite nice to you all.
