hey! i just finished my grade 12 exams and was looking into studying in germany. i was just curious what exactly you’re doing right now?
hi! so I have been waiting for someone to ask me this omg!!! currently cracking my knuckles opening up my laptop to answer this one
curriculum
so! essentially the main thing here is whether your high-school diploma is enough for university study, i.e: is it qualified as a Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB. I did the International Baccalaureate diploma, and based on the curriculum (and subjects chosen) you have studied, the route will be different for you. the German curriculum is of course best for studying there, but the IGCSE one is solid too. I am not sure for others, I live in kenya, so the main education systems are the Kenyan one, IB, and the Cambridge IGCSE one. best websites to use to figure out how to get there are as follow. DAAD is based on anabin, but anabin is from the culture ministers conference (the OG guys of deciding this study)
DAAD:
https://www.daad.de/en/studying-in-germany/requirements/admission-database/
anabin:
https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/schulabschluesse-mit-hochschulzugang.html#land_gewaehlt
the main categories are:
a. diploma valid in both country of education + Germany
b. diploma valid in only country of education, not germany
c. diploma not valid
field of study
based on your choice for your field, and also bachelors, masters or phd, all play a role. stem courses will generally not be taught in English, and you will just have to know German, if you want to study stem. unless you can find a specific international university, there are almost no courses (I could not find even one pure physics course in English) for stem in English. if there are, you will probably compromise on quality of education.
humanities courses are taught in English, so if you go into literature, business, psychology, economics, hotel management, etc. there are plenty of courses at very very good universities.
public universities are usually the best in Germany, have relatively low tuition (recently introduced in some uni's for international students) and are extremely high in quality.
what I am doing rn
my diploma went into category b, above. despite getting above average IB points, being a student with tons of extracurriculars, the subjects I took, along with the general regard of the IB diploma in Germany resulted in my situation.
I have to do a studienkolleg (a foundation course for international students). in order to apply for a stem oriented course, as I am going into physics (women in stem!!), I need a studienkolleg, and in order to go into the studienkolleg, I need B2 German.
I have essentially taken a year off (may 2023 - sept 2024) to figure out how I am getting there. I started German in September 2024, after figuring out I need to know it + I need a foundation. everyone online has said you can't learn a foreign language in a year - do not listen to them, it is entirely possible, difficult, but honestly doable.
so yeah! ask if you have any other questions. despite all this, the reason I want to study there is quality of education in relation to tuition, the job market, the benefits for international students, and the quality of life.

Hello. I have depression, anxiety, occasional migraines and ibs. Also extremely resistant to meds and especially pain pills but of course i cant get pain pills, whenever I tell Dr's that regular pain medication don't help and that morphine lasted under 10 minutes for me they just dismiss it or make a noise and look like yeah right you're a junkie. For the migraines I try to limit my exposure to loud noises or really bright light, the ibs is just an idk for triggers so I mostly just don't eat if I'm out or going out. The last couple of times I've tried to get a job I've had panic attacks and quit. My husband always says I'm disabled and it's okay if I can't work or go out shopping alone but when I see my pcp Dr she's always saying that a job would help with the depression and once we find a medication that really helps I should get a job. I have finally found a medication with my medication management dr that helps some and i don't qualify for disability because my husband makes to much for their levels, which makes me extra anxious about trying to get a job. My husband just says no I've tried enough times it doesn't work but I just feel super judged and guilty especially when people ask what I do or when I want something that costs more than 20 dollars. I also feel unsure and guilty when my husband says I'm disabled because none of the drs have and he's the only one who has said it. Sorry this got kinda rambly and maybe tmiish but I was hoping for some validation from the disabled community that I am disabled and that it is okay that I can't work and go out on my own. I hope you're having a good day, happy disability pride month (and moon 🌙 landing day).
I'm so sorry this is so late.
Not TMI just very close to home for me. I haven't been able to hold a job because of my pain and anxiety. I know how stressful it feels not feeling like you have any money that's "yours" even when you have a partner to support you.
You've come to the right place for validation. I think most people in the online disabled community would say you're valid and if you are more mentally and physically healthy not working and that works for you and your partner, I see no reason to rocket you out of your comfort zone into the hellscape that is trying to work while disabled.
You are valid. It's valid to not work for any reason you need to. You were made to be a human, and enjoy your life. We are not made to work.

Why must modern education embrace technology?
The way schools acknowledge the significance of technology in education, it is evident that the future of
school education in India is improving sustainably. Possessing strong knowledge of modern technologies, software and apps and their usability
can enable teachers to educate children better. Technology and its accessibility can help
teachers stay ahead of the curve and enhance the impact of learning.
Greater accessibility of educational resources and flexibility come with educational
digitisation, among other benefits. No matter what the level of expertise a teacher has in their field of knowledge, there is always an abundance of information undiscovered on the planet. Every teacher can't know everything, which is where technology comes to aid-
allowing us access to an unlimited pool of knowledge. It is also well-known that laptops
or desktops might not be commonly available in every family, but allowing students to access
modern software and tools in a classroom environment will enable them to encounter its
enormous opportunities and explore its applications.
Technology can assist with quality learning plans by personalising them based on
individual learning abilities, aptitude, age, etc. Custom learning software and
applications can offer personalised teaching experiences to help students learn at a rate that
aligns with their knowledge and development. Teachers can find it more flexible and seamless to
guide students to achieve their best potential. It becomes increasingly helpful to apply various
technological resources like visuals and video materials while explaining concepts in the
classrooms.
The requirements for the modern workforce’s digital skills are rising, and integrating
technology in education is the pathway to preparing our present younger generation for the future labour
market. Today’s young generation is exclusively digital by all means, and they can perceive
and process information faster when taught using tech-integrated learning models. With such
a tech-enabled curriculum, lessons are far more interactive and immersive, and students have
significantly better tools to explore thier creative abilities and design thinking skills.
Digitisation is making quality learning accessible globally to democratise education. Today,
even the most reputable universities are offering distance learning programs and digital
learning courses to enable studies universally accessible through e-learning tools and reduce
the access gap in the education sector. The conventional teaching methods consist of some
limitations for both teachers and students in several ways. But Blockchain in education made
it possible to store data, process feedback on each learner’s performance, and use this data to
help evaluate their progress.
Tools such as Virtual Reality have changed the landscape of classroom learning. A student
can be transported immediately into the scientific world to learn concepts by understanding
thier core. For example, a student can see how different organs work and retain the
understanding far longer with the help of VR. Similarly, they will gain conceptual clarity on
how each element contributes to motion and force in Physics. Virtual reality tools can make
learning exciting by exposing students to the infinite world of science and its
theories.
Technology allows us to store a vast amount of information that can help students to prepare
for exams with more resources. Students can
get all the test materials, competitive exam updates, study plans, and interactive lessons and easily
exchange information with peers. The tiresome process of finding previous years’ papers will
now be replaced with finding all the information online from different sources.
10X International school in Bangalore, has a new technology-integrated education concept that
provides the IB curriculum designed with a unique combination of human and artificial
intelligence. Just into a month of operations, the school already has made a bee-line of interested applicants, which is not surprising given the inclination towards technology that the millennial possess. Owing to the rapid technological advancements around the globe; and the s
obsolescence of jobs, 10X brings technology to the forefront of education and prepares
students to be equipped with the necessary skills to sustain and thrive in the future.

Getting good grades in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) Physics Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL) requires dedication, hard work, and effective study habits. Here is a guide on how you can achieve success in your IB Physics exams:
1. Understand the syllabus: Familiarize yourself with the curriculum requirements for both Higher Level and Standard Level Physics courses. Pay attention to key topics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity & magnetism, optics, waves, nuclear physics, and astrophysics. Developing a comprehensive understanding of these concepts will aid your preparation process significantly.
2. Create a study plan: Establish a consistent study schedule focusing on each topic covered within the syllabus. Break down complex subjects into manageable subtopics and assign deadlines for completing assignments and revision tasks. Adhering to your study plan consistently over several months will help reinforce your knowledge and skills.
3. Utilize available resources: Make use of textbooks, online videos, sample questions, past papers, and other educational materials provided by your school or external sources like Khan Academy, MIT OpenCourseWare, etc. Analyze different perspectives offered by various authors to gain insights into problem-solving approaches and develop critical thinking abilities.
4. Practice regularly: Solve a wide range of exercises and problems covering all aspects of Physics. This includes homework assignments, practice tests, and exam-style questions. Practicing frequently helps improve retention, application, and speed while identifying areas requiring further focus. Moreover, solving problems collaboratively through peer review sessions or joining online forums enhances comprehension and communication skills.
5. Seek guidance from teachers: Engage actively with your teachers during lessons and office hours to clarify doubts and receive personalized feedback. They have valuable insights regarding course content, assessment strategies, and additional resources tailored to enhance your learning experience.
6. Join study groups: Form study groups consisting of peers who share similar goals and aspirations. Collaborating with others encourages collective brainstorming, problem-solving techniques, and accountability towards meeting academic targets. Share notes, resources, and motivate one another throughout the learning journey.
7. Manage stress effectively: Avoid procrastination and minimize distractions when studying. Break up your study sessions into shorter intervals followed by brief breaks to maintain motivation levels and prevent burnout. Exercise, eat healthily, and engage in leisure activities outside of academics to promote mental wellbeing and reduce stress. Sleep adequately as sufficient rest promotes cognitive function and memory consolidation necessary for retaining learned material.
8. Stay organized: Maintain proper organization of all study materials including lecture notes, assignment instructions, past papers, and answer keys. Digital tools like Evernote, Trello, or Google Drive can facilitate easy access to relevant information and enable efficient file management. Additionally, keeping track of due dates ensures timely submission of assignments and prevents last-minute cramming.
9. Monitor progress: Regularly assess your performance by comparing it against your initial expectations and tracking improvements made over time. Identify patterns and weaknesses in your understanding and apply targeted remedial measures accordingly. Celebrate accomplishments along the way to stay motivated.
10. Embrace failure: Learn from mistakes rather than fearing failure. Analyzing incorrect answers provides insight into common misconceptions and guides future improvement efforts. Persistence and resilience are crucial attributes required for success in challenging exams like the IB Physics exams.
By following these guidelines, you can maximize your chances of achieving good grades in IB Physics HL/SL exams and unlocking your full potential in the subject matter. Remember, consistency, determination, and commitment are essential elements of academic success. Best wishes!

I’m slaying so fucking hard in school right now. Got a 100% on a position paper in my IB history 20 class (teacher called it “a tour de force”, exact quote). 96% on a math unit exam that I did while running on five hours of sleep and spent a grand total of about five minutes studying for. 100% on a lab package in chemistry 30. My IB English teacher keeps telling me I remind her of her university professors and lightheartedly calling me “professor.” I have an 88% in physics 30 (which I’m taking online on top of all my other classes). 99% in chemistry 30. 98% in math 20 IB. Multiple of my chem classmates credit me with not only passing but actually doing quite well on a recent unit final, for which all of the relevant people either failed or barely passed the quiz beforehand. I’ve been almost singlehandedly teaching a girl in my class the current unit we’re working on in chem because English is her second language, she’s been away quite a bit recently, and the teacher doesn’t communicate clearly enough for her to understand fully. And maintaining multiple extracurriculars, including volunteering with children every week. I live in a hell of my own creation and I’m actually quite content with it. I’m exhausted all the time, but that would be true regardless of my course load, might as well make the best of it. I’ve been working my ass off for years figuring out through trial and error how to adapt what I’m taught to work with my disabilities, and it’s paying off, thank fuck. I’m finding new, way more efficient methods for doing certain things in math that never even occurred to my teacher even after numerous years of teaching. God, I’m proud of myself for how far I’ve come.

CUET Passing Marks: Score You Need to Clear the Test
CUET is a common test to book your seat in one of the finest colleges in the country. Get familiar with the exam pattern and learn more about the minimum passing marks of CUET in this blog
Students have to take an entrance exam before getting admitted to a reputed university. Different institutes conduct different entrance exams. Remembering exam patterns, curriculum, and passing marks for each entrance exam can be challenging and time-consuming.
What If there was one exam that would act as your application and blueprint to all your desired institutes? CUET acts as your pathway to apply to all the universities of your liking. In this blog, we’ll explore the passing marks and exam patterns of CUET to get admission to your dream university.
What is the CUET Exam?
The NTA (National Testing Agency) conducts the CUET exam, which the Ministry of Education introduced to fulfil the “one India, one exam” goal. CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an all-India common test to grab your seat in some of the most renowned universities. Students located around different parts of the country, including rural areas, will have the opportunity to get admission to all UG programs of over 53 central universities in India.
Exam pattern and Sections for CUET
The Common University Entrance Test has multiple-choice objective questions conducted via an online test. There are two slots available for the test.
Slot 1: 3 Hours and 15 Minutes
Slot 2: 3 Hours and 45 Minutes
Four sections of the CUET exam: IA, IB, II, III
IA Section: It is a language test where students can choose one language from 13 different languages, including Gujarati, English, Tamil, Hindi, Assamese, and many more.
IB Section: It is an optional test for 19 different languages, which are completely different from the languages in Section IA. The various languages are Italian, Konkani, Sindhi, Japanese, etc.
II Section: Students have to choose from 27 domain-centric subjects according to the course they want to apply for. Many UG courses have particular subject requirements, so students must choose their subjects in compliance with the specific requirements. The subjects include Maths, Physics, Accountancy, Psychology, Biology, and much more.
III Section: It is a general amplitude-based test based on current affairs, general knowledge, logical reasoning, etc.
Passing marks to Crack the CUET
The minimum passing score for CUET is divided into four sections, as different universities require domain-specific subject knowledge depending upon the UG courses. Every student must pass each section individually to reserve their seat in the respective universities. The marking scheme for CUET is as follows:
For Correct Answers: +5 Marks
For Incorrect Answers: -1 Marks
Section I: Language Test
Students must choose three languages from section I (a combination of IA and IB), where the third language should be domain-specific to the course. The domain-specific language for sections IA and IB should not be the same chosen language.
Total Marks of Section I: 400 Marks
Total Marks of Individual Section IA: 200 Marks
Total Marks of Individual Section IB: 200 Marks
Students need to answer at least 40 out of 50 questions in their chosen language within the allotted time of 45 Mins. Students need to score a minimum of 80-90 marks separately for Section IA and IB. So, the minimum score for passing CUET Section I is 160-180 marks.
Section II: Specific Subject Test
In this section, students can choose up to 6 subjects from the 27 domain-specific subjects available. They should attempt a minimum of 40-50 questions on the chosen domain. Each domain-specific subject has a time constraint of 45 minutes. The question of domains is asked from the class 12 syllabus and NCERT solutions.
Maximum and Total Marks of Section II: 300 Marks
Minimum Passing Marks of Section II: 120-135 Marks
Section III: General Test
Some universities test student's critical thinking abilities, knowledge of current affairs, and reasoning in this section. They must answer  60 out of 75 questions in the time slot of 60 minutes.
Passing Score of Section III: 120-135 Marks
Conclusion
Many aspiring students are preparing for CUET to get admission to their desired universities. However, the competition is high, with thousands of students attempting to clear the exam. You can score passing marks and even score higher with correct strategies, time management, and discipline. TopperLearning provides you with extensive NCERT solutions to help you prepare for CUET.
Have any queries? Post it in the Ask-A-Doubt section!
