whatever. tekken hadesgame AU

or as I like to call it: "what if Kaz raised Jin: God Edition lmao"

so. to lay the groundwork:

They're all gods/powerful immortal beings of an unspecified pantheon (but still loosely inspired by a pretty famous one I'm sure you'll recognize)

Big Bad Thundergod King Heihachi (whom I am now realizing shares quite a lot of similarities with good ol' Zeus), after getting bored and worried he's raising a weakling unfit to be his heir, still threw his little son down a cliff, except this one was from the highest heavens to the deepest hells, to make sure that if the little godling died, well, the death would actually stick. Which it did.

UNTIL another deity who's the personification of the devil gene (and who kinda look like Kazumi-but-it's-unsure-wether-or-not-it's-actually-Kazumi) took pity on him and revived him by giving him part of itself/hell aka the devil gene. So now Kazuya is "alive" and immortal again, but he's now bound to hell, aka he can't live away from it for very long. And yknow what they say, if you're stuck somewhere, might as well become it's ruler. Especially if you've gained the favors of the entity that embodies the place and that you've found a new life goal in making daddy dearest's life unbearable.

Anyway eons passed and Kaz's brothers (his adopted one Lee whom ascended to godhood on one of Heihachi's whims as a way to counter his annoying firstborn's meddling, and his heroic half-brother Lars) reached out to him one day to propose an alliance to take their tyrannical father down. Kaz only agreed on the condition that he get to expand his domain once Heihachi is out: if he cant leave hell, no worries, he'll just make hell bigger. Anyway Heihachi's children rebelled against him and with their might combined they managed to take him down, with Kaz even having the honor and pleasure to deliver the killing blow.

For the aftermath tho, when it was time for Kaz to begin his conquest, his brothers came back on their word to let him, bc Lars Actually Gives A Damn About Mortals and he knew full well that Kazuya wouldve had exactly the same rule as Heihachi if they let him, so they didnt (and Lee is more neutral on his views toward mortals but he gets along with Lars FAR better than he ever got along with Kaz so the choice on who to back up was easy). And even though Kaz 100% wouldve been as bad as Heihachi is he was allowed to rule over mortals as Lars thought he would be, and Kaz KNOWS it, that doesnt mean hes not gonna be mad that his brothers didnt keep their words to let him be evil in peace.

Well if he cant have what he wants the fair way, might as well try to take it by force. And thus Kaz resumes his battles against his brothers with his attempts at invasion of the mortal realm.

This goes on for awhile with things going great for Kaz as he is the stronger sibling out of all of them, until his aggression puts him on the path of one Jun, who counters him in a most efficient, masterful and complete manner. Basically he was doing too well at bringing evil onto the world and she had come to balance him out.

In a most unforeseen turn of events, as they get acquainted over the course of their different confrontations, they discover that they respect and admire each other's strength and actually get along pretty well, even enjoy each other's company.

Anyway being around Jun makes Kaz chill out MASSIVELY and soon enough you'll notice the amount of invasions from hell have greatly diminished.

Eventually they get in an actual relationship, with Kazuya even wanting her to become the queen of his domain. And Jun is not opposed to this proposal, quite the opposite in fact. But complications start to arise when Jun began moving in hell: she is everything it's not and vice-versa, and the environment itself even seems harmful for her the longer she stays. Even the devil-Kazumi-entity, for all that it's/she's fond of Jun as a person, cannot meet her physically for she would eradicate it/her should they come into contact.

Jun bears it as long as she can bc Kazuya Literally Cannot Leave Hell and she wants to be with him as much as he wants to be with her, and Kaz promises her that he's working on finding a solution (and by "working on it" I mean Kaz is threatening the dead soul of a demi-god known as Gepetto Bosconovitch, reknown for giving life to things that didnt have any, into fixing this).

Eventually Jun reaches her breaking point when their son dies a stillborn because he bears her blood and he is much weaker than she is, bc he's a baby. This is the last rejection of this place that Jun can take before it potentially kills her, esp since that last event took such a toll on her, and even tho she loves Kaz as much as he loves her, she has to leave and WANTS to leave. Kaz, in a rare moment of compassion, let her go and spares telling her the news that, ironically, Bosconovitch JUST finished his work and managed to make a garden, indentical to the ones she would have on the surface, grow in the deepest level of hell where she could thrive.

So Jun is gone and Kaz is miserable, so much so that he doesnt even have the mind nor heart for conquest anymore. The only thing left of her being the corpse of his child that he decides to bury in the unused garden.

But just as the tiny body touches the soil, he begin to scream as he takes his first breath and the initial shock then WAVE OF RELIEF Kazuya feels as his son is alive surprises even himself bc he didnt even want the damn baby in the first place. This is probably the most outwardly loving Kaz will be with his son as he's holding his tiny body while being hit with a fucking storm of emotions but hey we take those.

"This is great! Their son is alive and the garden works! Now Kazuya only need to reach Jun and they can-" Except Kaz Will Not bc he does NOT want to reach Jun. Not bc he doesnt love her anymore but 1) bc he now knows the pain of losing her and bringing her back into his life means getting the risk of getting hurt again and he neither wants to feel that pain ever again nor even knowing he has that "weakness" in the first place so he'd rather cut her off from his life, he'd rather deal with loneliness than heartache, and 2) even he realized that what his domain is, what he is, brought Jun pain, and some part of him does NOT like to see Jun in pain.

"Well if he doesnt want Jun back into his life, why doesnt he send her their son?" This is objectively the best course of action. But Kaz is Not A Good Person. He's selfish. And again. Their son is the last thing he has left of her, and goddammit if he doesnt have her eyes, her nose, her face.

So Kaz is now stuck with this lame baby and only partially vibe with it. Problem is, that baby cannot live in this tiny garden for the entirety of his immortal life. Thankfully the devil-Kazumi-entity offers Kaz a solution: the baby not only carries Jun's blood but also Kazuya's, and that makes him able to be a receptacle for the devil gene, binding him to hell as well, yes, but keeping him alive in there.

So now Kazuya is raising his son whom he named Jin based on one (1) short conversation he once had with Jun but didnt forget. He is also personally training him in the art of combat, bc sadly Kaz does take a bit after his father, and he would not have the prince of hell be a weakling.

OKAY BACKSTORY ESTABLISHED FINALLY now onto the main course:

So Jin grew up and similarly as in the game, he eventually learn that his family is not just him and his dad but he also have a mom somewhere, and he wants to find her. Bc one day he steps into the famous garden that Kaz had closed off after That Day and Jin figured that his asshole dad would NOT have such a pretty garden made without reasons so after a few researchs behind Kaz's back he eventually found out the truth.

Long story short, Jin wants to leave hell, Kaz doesnt want him to, and they antagonize each other constantly.

Jin eventually comes into contact with both his extanded family and multiple allies who wants to help him leave (without anyone knowing yet that just like Kaz, Jin cannot live outside of hell for long. tho Jin can survive longer than Kaz thanks for his mom's blood)

The people from outside helping him are:

Lars: his heroic half-uncle, OF COURSE Lars was going to help him.

Lee: his adopted uncle, he does like Jin but mostly he helps him out so Jin can run a few crash tests for him on Kaz's minions, AND he gets to piss off Kaz in the same move? Excellent.

Alisa: an ascended goddess who relate to Jin due to their origin, she as well was "dead at birth" until her father found a way to bring her back (in a way) tho he was cast to hell for it.

Leroy: the grandfather-figure Jin wishes he always had.

Asuka: she insists to him they're related and that once he makes it outta hell, she'll teach him about their side of the family.

there'll be more down the line but I need to workshop this...

Anyway Jin has two goal: 1) escape dad's hell, and 2) find mom. whom he will discover has straight up disappeared from everyone ever since she left hell herself.

So Jin starts from the bottom of hell and has to climb to the top where the entrance lies, in the mouth of a volcano. Wink wink fucking nudge nudge

When he falls he ends up back in his father's home where he can meet a bunch of friendly dead souls:

Lucky Chloe: usually the first person he sees after falling down, she's kind of the court jester, she was spared damnation bc Kaz thinks her annoying people is really funny as long as its not him, thats where the "Lucky" come from.

Azucena: she provides delicacies from the surface to hell (for a price), Jin can find her as he's running up to the surface and she'll happily sell him things to help.

Jane: she provides Jin with some sort of "bestiary" and she actually does not mind that he keeps beating Kaz's minions (the JACKs among others, tho they are her favorites) bc she get to improve them thanks to the data gathered afterward.

Bruce: Kaz's chief of security. When Jin didnt trained with Kaz, he often sparred with Bruce. Bruce will let Jin try his different styles against him before climbing back up hell again. He's fond of the kid :)

"Kazumi": Jin can never get quite a good read on her/it, but she's/it's always kind to him.

and others that I will also figure out...

But that's not all the people Jin meets, as he's ascending, he also encounters a bunch of people, tho not all are friendly.

Nina and Anna: contracted by Kazuya to stop Jin. Tho they spend more time fighting each other...

A reptilian monstrocity by the name of Alex.

Some strange crystals take him to a bizarre location where he can meet Azazel, who present himself as the progenitor of the devil-Kazumi-entity, making him technically Jin's great-grandpa. Via him, Jin can fight Devil Jin and gain more access to his style (more on that later)

Xiaoyu: a phoenix Jin befriended, the only reason she's in hell is only bc she can cheat death. She is not bound to hell, so she technically can come back to life if she manages to escape, until she dies again on the surface. They often run into each other and have a friendly competition to see who can defeat the most of Kaz's minions, if she loses, Xiaoyu will leave Jin with one of her feathers, that increases his health. Jin can also meet her sometimes back at the house. It's rumored that she spend more time in hell recently to hang out with the hellish prince🧡

Hwoarang: another dead soul of a great warrior contracted to stop Jin, but he couldnt care less about what Kaz wants. He wants to defeat Jin, so he will hunt him down everytime he hears that Jin is trying to escape again. Over time he and Jin have come to enjoy their rivalry. Jin can also meet him sometimes at the house🧡

And more yknow the drill...

And of course, once Jin finally manages to come to hell's entrance, who waits for him there but Kazuya. The two have a nice little father and son fight to the death between immortals where they can work out their problems in an healthy manner: with extreme violence, and the winner get to throw the other down the volcano cliff aaall the way to the bottom (bc sometimes the best way to work out trauma is thru exposure therapy. wink)

Jin starts by only knowing his father's style, but after finally finding his mother, and after the initial story-related reunion (and the tragic realization that just like his dad, Jin cannot stay out of hell for long), they bond with Jun teaching him her style. And Jin can work his way to the top again using her style to learn more about it. When dueling Kaz with it, he's preeetty conflicted like: My traitorous son is using another style than ours👿 -> omg that's Jun's moves... 🥺 -> HE'S NOT EVEN USING THEM RIGHT👿👿👿

And basically, Jin has multiple styles: his dad's, his own, eventually his mom's, and devil style. He gets to pick the one he's going to stick with at the start of every ascend.

Anyway this is the story of a child of divorce trying to reunite his parents who are both extremely stubborn and extremely still in love with each other, bc if Jin has to live another day with just his father he's going to LOSE IT.

jotaro kujo is a big softie that loves his friends so incredibly much and he needs to ensure their safety to be calm and also he’s a giantass fucking loser dork OR:

what the oingo boingo arc tells us about jotaro despite him barely being in it

first things first, jotaro being in the back with avdol and kakyoin when they’re wounded

what does this mean? it means jotaro could only soothe his nerves while on the drive to the hospital by being the one to tend to avdol and kakyoin

i come to this conclusion because it certainly wasn’t cause of space issues: polnareff is shorter than jotaro and also weighs less, so it probably wouldve been less cramped if he was the one to go into the back. but he’s not. you might then argue that no one else would’ve been able to drive, but then i argue that joseph could’ve driven and jotaro couldve been in the passenger seat. but again, that’s not the case. jotaro is only able to handle the wait by being the one right beside kakyoin and avdol while theyre wounded

to expand upon this, jotaro is the one who left for avdol and kakyoin way before joseph or polnareff. all this leads to the conclusion jotaro was really worried and the only way he could soothe those worries was by being by their sides and seeing for himself how things were going

now for the meat

polnareff wasn’t afraid of touching “jotaro” or manhandling him. this is strange... we’ve seen jotaro when he’s annoyed and pissed off about how people treat him; he literally kept an actual list of all of steely dan’s transgressions so he could properly get payback. he knows his strength and he knows how to use it so people leave him alone

but polnareff is unflinching in his action here. he doesn’t think twice about treating jotaro like a little kid who needs help getting into the car. what can we conclude about this?

one might argue that polnareff is willing to risk it this once because he’s worried about avdol and kakyoin and doesn’t want to wait around, especially because he’d be safe from a beating because of the constraints of the car. however, to counter this, let’s again remember jotaro’s strength; it would be very easy for him to push back and never be forced into the car at all before punching the daylights out of polnareff, especially because as discussed earlier, polnareff is smaller than jotaro. polnareff is impulsive but he’s not stupid, he knows they don’t have time for a brawl

which means, jotaro would’ve allowed this. jotaro is fine with being touched by his loved ones and even thrown around by them because if there is one thing jotaro can speak fluently when it comes to communication, it’s physical action. we also see this in how he lets joseph shove him against the wall when holly first falls ill and how when he was with yellow temperance kakyoin, he didn’t mind that “kakyoin” shoved him a bit (until that shoving had him almost fall to his death). whos to say he Likes it, but he clearly doesn’t Mind it so long as its coming from a friend. he trusts they wont take more what he’s willing to give in regards to his personal space

next, iggy is willing to sit next to “jotaro” and is even comfortable enough to sleep next to him

this is presumably because he earned iggy’s respect in the n’doul fight and handled iggy’s bullshit with the gum with relative grace -- showing that he’s not gonna hurt iggy over it, at least

i just wanted to point this out to show that iggy and jotaro were friends too. ive said this before but this implication makes me think jotaro, alongside avdol, was one of the only ppl allowed to pet iggy

now the implications of the famous cigarette trick

jotaro is not a showoff kinda guy. he doesn’t like bringing attention to himself, especially not “ohh wow that’s so cool!!” attention like a cigarette trick would give him. at least, not from relative strangers, like the girls at his school -- but if its from his friends, clearly his tune changes a bit...

i come to this conclusion because sure, it’d be one thing if jotaro only did this trick with the single cigarette polnareff has; he mightve done it to earn some respect and otherwise “cool” points from the crusaders so he can be alone in peace (they would be intimidated to bother such a cool guy)

but jotaro does this trick with FIVE cigarettes

he literally has no reason to do that other than to wow the crusaders at this point. this goes beyond just garnering some respect; this would be jotaro going out of his way, wasting cigarettes as he does so, to make people Look at him. like you see why this is fairly abnormal right?

so how else would one explain this behavior? well, it’s obvious to me: jotaro enjoys making his friends smile. he doesn’t mind it when it’s THEIR attention on him, because he trusts the intentions of it. it’s not burning or prickling or unknown like a stranger’s attention might be to him; it’s comforting, it lets him know he’s seen, it lets him know they care. i dont think jotaro would like ever THRIVE under attention per se, but he would really like it nonetheless coming from his friends, which is what this proves to me. he wants them to look at him and smile and root for him and revel in his accomplishments with him, an experience he doesn’t award just anyone

also it goes to show that jotaro is willing to put down the cool guy front near the crusaders cause honestly, doing this fuckin thing with five cigarettes is, while impressive, not necessarily a badass guy thing? you only learn to do this if you have a bad smoking habit and are bored out of your mind -- not particularly cool, but funny and relatable. which i think is the thing...jotaro WANTS the crusaders to relate to him. im goign nuts. basically jsut like...he loves them. he loves the connection they all have to him and it opens facets of himself he never thought would see the light of day. it lets him relax and just...be himself (which is a weirdo funny kid btw) for a bit. he doesnt need to be constantly cool or whatever to be comfortable in front of them

next, the way joseph and polnareff respond to “jotaro” clearly not being okay

what this response tells me is a couple of things:

1. jotaro has come undone or nearly come undone in front of them before. the way joseph and polnareff glance at each other before immediately launching into theatrics, jumping from one scenario to another so theres no time to think, tells me that they know what jotaro would appreciate in this situation -- and that’s a distraction from whatever his thoughts are with something so ridiculous the absurdity alone will shock jotaro out of it for now. they also know not to question him; making jotaro think about it even more will just lead to disaster. they only take what jotaro can give them and dont ask for more

2. the way they know jotaro wouldve appreciated a distraction means to me theyve talked to him about this before, presumably during the previous times he came undone. jotaro would rather die than truly talk about his problems so he probably told them “just- just distract me. i can’t stop thinking” (cause jotaro probably has anxiety disorder but well anyway). polnareff and joseph listened to that and they adhere to it here which we can see with the thumb and orange things. this is further supported by the time kakyoin changes subjects when it comes to light avdol and iggy died. cant overthink if you dont have the time to, right?

anyway this got long. basically, jotaro loves his friends and they love him too

Hi how would you accomodate Obito's character to match, as you said, the fake ideal Kakashi has of him in his memory at the beginning of the series (if you want their relationship to go that way, which is 1000% more interesting than what the manga gave us) ? Like, if Kakashi has a fake idea of Obito in his head, Obito must have been at least something remotely heroic in the past, no ? Also, in this configuration do you think Adult Obito should be acknowledged as 100% Creepy in the story to contrast Kakashi's memories, and how ?

i fear that i may have opened a giant can of naruto discourse worms but since i actually have opinions on this i might as well share. its not really changing obito's character in any form its just genuinely how i read this relationship because thats the way it makes the most sense to me.

obito was genuinely just some kid who had a good heart but was a little annoying and wasnt terribly punctual or collected and was more than happy to mildly buck his responsibilities and the expectations people had of him to help people out which isnt inherently bad but also easily lends itself to endangering the mission/task at hand and as a result baby kakashi thought he was annoying and stupid and a spoiled brat who doesnt know what the real world looks like. they were literally not even anywhere close to friends until like the 5 minutes before obito epicly dies by which i mean. and this is like so so so tremendously important to understanding my view of this relationship. kakashi barely knew obito at all, and he didnt know him because up until those last 5 minutes he barely even respected him as a person and therefore had absolutely no vested interest in learning. this, combined with the fact that obito was . again. just some kid who was trying his best but wasnt like outstanding is absolutely crucial because its directly because of kakashi's growing insane survivors guilt complex that his perception of obito goes from "kid with a good heart who did the right thing when i did not" -> "paragon of justice and morality and everything that i am not".

like kakashi as a guy is somebody who very consistently takes far more responsibility for bad things that happen than is deserved - if kakashi and obito had gone to save rin earlier it literally would not have made a difference, but because kakashi knows he made the wrong decision in trying not to save her at first he blames himself for obito's death nonetheless. as rin dies by his own hand (both thereby being "his fault" + violating the deathbed promise he made to the last person he got killed) and then minato kicks the bucket not too long after, kakashi's survivors guilt complex balloons into something genuinely kind of deranged. like seriously kakashi really truly does hate himself so so so much and its a bit dire. he blames solely himself for things that are not entirely or even mostly his fault and at multiple points in the final arc literally talks about how prepared he is to die and when he's saved is caught entirely off-guard and immediately starts talking about how worthless he is (GUY WHO WANTS TO DIE SO BAD ITS CONCERNING) and asking why obito bothered moving kaguya's attack and when anybody ever tries to give him credit for the positive things he did contribute he immediately moves to give it to somebody else and minimize his own impact.

with this in mind you can kind of see what happened with obito - while kakashi is a tremendously skilled ninja on his own, it was the sharigan that ultimately became the centerpoint of his abilities - the sharigan that obito gave him. with this comes the ability to attribute all the good he's done for the village/people in it to obito while bolstering his already preconceived notion that it wasnt obito who shouldve died back then but him because if it were obito he wouldve been able to do everything that kakashi has done except he also has the added bonus of being fundamentally a better person who wouldve made the right choices who wouldve been a good leader who wouldve saved rin who wouldve saved everybody who was the one out of the two of them who truly understood sakumo's will and would have always always always succeeded where kakashi has failed time and time again but because hes dead because kakashi got him killed the best he can do is try. and he cant move on he cant ever move on because this eye of obitos is always always always there and he'll never be able to forgive himself because he's failed in every way he could have and would never deserve it. by the time the main series rolls around obito really isnt a person in kakashis mind but a very prominent focal point to project his insane deranged guilt complex onto and then feel miserable about because he has serious mental issues. like its truly not about obito as the guy he actually was because kakashi barely even knew him at all, its that because so so so many of kakashi's biggest achievements and regrets in life are tied back to obito's death its just entirely inescapable and especially so for somebody as riddled with guilt and self-hatred and responsibility as kakashi.

like people like to pretend this relationship is romantic but if im being honest. that is objectively 1)stupid but also more importantly 2) BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG ITS SO BORING ITS SO BORINGGGGGGGGG when your other option is kakashis deranged mental scape projection bag turning out to be an actual real person who shouldnt have been put on this massive pedastal, causing kakashis entire life and meaning up to this point to come crumbling down because it turns out obito's been spiraling off the path that kakashi has been obsessing over for years except in the end this too is kakashis fault because its always kakashis fault and worse yet its not even him who convinces obito to turn around because no matter how hard kakashi tries he'll never ever ever ever be good enough he'll never be able to fix his mistakes he'll never be able to be forgiven and he'll never be able to forgive himself.

also side note while i find obito's fixation on rin to be insanely annoying and notably weird and definitely in poor taste, intentionally making it creepy is doing nobody ANY favors and i would decidedly not want that in any direction. the contrasts between what kakashi remembers and what obito has turned into have to do with selflessness and maturity and the consistent choice to do the right thing into assisting in the murder of thousands of people for an incredibly childish and selfish pipe dream - imo intentionally focusing on how its frankly a bit weird for a guy pushing 30 to still be hung up on a girl he knew when he was 12 is detracting from the main point and serves no narrative purpose and what id much rather do instead is chop the romantic beat entirely because that would do wonders for his entire character in making him at the very least less annoying.

also also the way this ask is worded is a bit weird imo like its not like obito started out being a terrible person and if he was all along then itd kind of suck and also defeat like 100% of the point. like i would definitely say throwing yourself into a pack of overwhelming enemies to save a friend falls into the heroic category, and, while him giving kakashi the eyeball is absolutely horrifying and appalling and 57 different levels of messed up, from kakashi's pov<- authors note interruption: originally i was typing this up in the tags but then it became too long i have to give my opinion on the eyeball scene. i have to. we're side tangenting here but okay like because the thing about naruto the series and kishimoto and their respective politics is theyre kind of at odds with each other and a solid 50% of the things kishimoto says in naruto i think he like doesnt actually agree with or is alternatively too scared to commit to so im not really sure how exactly we're supposed to interpret obito giving kakashi his eye. and im aware to some extent that the shippers are like omg….. sooooo romantic while throwing on the veneer of omg child soldiers…. so horrible……. <- purely for the ~angst~ factor but. My Opinion. and we're back at it again with the mildly edited "discord messages from when i was watching" copy-pasting:

frankly imo if you make the focus of this scene on literally anything other than how horrifying the system is 1) you kind of suck and 2) youre tremendously dumb. because like there are so many tremendously bad implications going on here between the fact that kakashi who is clearly 13-14 max despite what his voice will have you believe is a JONIN without ANY of the necessary leadership or experience skills was sent with two other twelve year olds on their own with NO adult supervision (!!) on a mission to blow up a bridge in the middle of a war (!!!) and that when one of them got half crushed by a rock his only thought was to get one of the other children to TAKE OUT HIS EYEBALL WHILE HE WAS STILL CONSCIOUS (!!!!!!!) AND STICK IT INTO ANOTHER CHILD’S EYESOCKET (!!!!!!!!!!) WHICH STILL CURRENTLY HAS AN EYEBALL IN IT EVEN IF ITS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING MEANING SHE WILL HAVE TO GRUESOMELY SCOOP OUT THE REMAINS BEFORE SHE CAN PUT THE OTHER GUYS EYEBALL IN IT (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ^in the whole context of this i was complaining about shippers but the same sort of sentiment still applies to glorifying this in any manner. like as an outsider looking into this fictional world i can very easily go "wow! this is horrifying! this is not heroic this is tremendously messed up and a society that has allowed this to happen needs to kind of be razed to the ground."HOWEVER. this does not mean that kakashi himself does not see this as something indescribably heroic and in fact he would have an incredibly hard time seeing it otherwise given The Mental Illness and also his entire childhood and way of life from birth. like if we're being honest im always thinking about the scene where iruka and kakashi are arguing over whether or not team 7 is prepared to take the chunin exam because iruka rightly points out that theyre very young and inexperienced with the implication that given people older than them have literally actually died in these exams they really should not be doing this and kakashi responds that he was six years younger than naruto when he became a chunin as a justification and its just so insanely illuminating to his perspective on a lot of this because its been so insanely twisted by having literally grown up on the battlefield and then after that joining anbu bc from his perspective theyre twice as old as he was with the added bonus of it being peacetime so its literally fine even though for the viewers it is decidedly not.

and like in some instances he does recognize how badly the ninja system has screwed over everybody personally (see: when sasuke fights all of them after killing danzo and kakashi notes that sasuke is absolutely a product of his environment) but in other cases hes just so completely blinded by having been intrenched in war and child soldiering from birth that its very very hard to be able to take a step back and look at it objectively (and especially for somebody like kakashi who if he genuinely acknowledged this might also have to confront the fact that if child soldiers absolutely 100000% should not exist in any situation ever several of the things he blames himself most for in his past would really not be much of his fault as the adults who put him in those situations in the first place. which he would rather kill himself than do). also real quick id like to take a moment to share this parallel because it SERIOUSLY makes me deranged IM OBSESSED WITH ITTTTTTTT

so while as viewers we ought to think the entire eyeball scene is genuinely horrifying and, in the words of my dear friend goosewhisker, "a commentary on how [the ninja] system feeds on the corpses of the people who protect it", kakashi absolutely views this as something to be aspired to and incredibly heroic because hes messed up in the head a bit as a result of growing up under the konoha war machine and if you were to go "well actually obito sucked all along" it would literally only be undermining the point the story is trying to make imo. anyways this has gotten severely derailed but this is has been my thesis on kakashis relationship with/at obito and if youve stuck around this long.well thank you for reading

- I feel like she would've been a old music lover, totally got that stuff from her dad (not self projecting,,,🤥)

- She would say she's best friends with all the Afton kids! Although sometimes it feels like she's friends with the twins (Evan and Elizabeth) moreso by default/obligation,,, it was the little things that made her doubt their friendship (liz's violent behavior and evan's,,,undiagnosed autism that everyone just thought was him being a weirdo)

- She totally had a 'best friend's brother' crush on Michael when they were much smaller (think maybe, 7-8) she grew out of it thankfully lmao (Lizzie was likely disgusted whilst this phase was happening "It's Maikol!! He's desgustang!! 🇬🇧")

- Elizabeth was the dainty, princess friend whilst Charlie was the rough-and-tumble tomboy!! (Very stereotypical yes, but they worked well as a bestie unit) Of course this doesn't stop Lizzie from catching bugs with Charlie or Charlie having tea parties with Liz!

- Henry was also an overprotective father (not to the abusive extreme that William went to), but more of a "I don't want you hanging around *whoever Henry didn't trust*, you understand?" Which annoyed her severely

- After the bite, Henry slowly started cutting ties with the Aftons (he wasn't a good person back then,,,) which included forbidding Charlie from hanging out with Mike and Lizzie, this very much upset her and caused tension between her and Henry

- Her middle name is her mother's name (Barbara!) (Her mother also died at childbirth, something her and Cassie have in common lmao)

- She totally preferred Uncle William to her dad, she thought he was just cooler and mysterious (that definitely changed after her death)

- #1 pizza enjoyer, you wouldn't be suprised if we found out the only reason it's a pizzeria is because of her

- She wasn't particularly close with Evan, but she'd defend him with her life! (Sometimes she was more of a sister than Elizabeth was 👀) (Remember the incident that got Evan kicked out of school? She was there to back him up no matter what!!) (Can't say the same for Liz)

- So you can kinda see where she got the whole "lifting others into your arms thing"

- Whilst the other dead children lowkey hated the Afton kids because they were related to Will, she was the only one who obviously didn't have beef with them and pitied them instead

- Was a total sports kid, probably a soccer girl (she'd win everytime 😎😎)

- (if Lizzie and Charlie both lived they wouldve been William and Henry 2.0)

- Charlie's death was a complete accident, Will only killed her because he was having a real awful time (dead son, ruined reputation, business partner/ best friend kicking you out of your company,etc), and he totally snapped and str//ngled her to death ☹

- Charlie had a lot of time to reflect on her life once she possessed the puppet, she only wishes she could've appreciated her father more in life 💔💔

caught up! some #thoughts before the last two eps of till the end of the moon:

ive been liking this arc a lot more than i thought i was going to! it’s basically backhalf of the mortal arc >>>> cultivator arc >> first half of the mortal arc >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>dream arc

that said, i can feel where it’s been chopped up to hell and back due to the required episode length cuts. ep 33 in particular felt like we were given a 2-3 ep arc in like 30 min

mo nv, not that annoying? who wouldve thought? not me.

there’s a lot of xianxia mechanics that are going FWOOSH over my head and idk if it’s due to editing (probably), not reading the source novel (possibly), stuff lost in translation, or me not paying good enough attention (also probably). im just riding with it all at this point

kind of bummed that susu wasn’t given more to do in the last 3-4 eps. im hoping that changes with these last 2, but damn. it felt like mo nv had more screen time than her in 37 & 38, which??

that said LOVED her confrontation against di mian. NURTURE OVER NATURE, DICKHEAD!!

no idea how this is going to go, but i do feel like if there’s not a happy ending or at least an open ending, it sort of cheats the narrative in a big way. im not against tragic endings, some of my favorite dramas have them, but it would just feel...not consistent with the tone and also just needlessly cruel after everything

Some characters in teen wolf are very 50 50 for me and some of those characters are malia, kira, allison, and derek. Most of them are females and that is bc the writers put all of their best into lydia.

Kira is one of the main characters that i dont like and that is bc how she was introduced was very weird. Eavesdropping on a convo and then just being like 'yeah those dreams mean ur gonna die :D' like sorry bro that is NOT the way to go if ur trying to make friends. I think the ppl who screwed her over the most was the writers bc i feel like if she was just a character on her own she wouldve been fine but it felt like she was there purely for scott. I get it, tv shows need romance most of the time but scott is never single ever. Like maybe s3a?? And even then its still sorta allison. Kiras scenes with malia were so good and i thought when they were dancing in the first ep of s4 i was like i think this would be a good dynamic. And in s5 when she has to capture the electricity or whatevrr malias there and shes giving her encouragement and i thought that was awesome. I feel like bc they made her there just bc of scott it made me iffy abt her character. Shes a kitsune who has lightning powers u couldnt give her some scenes were she wasnt with scott or doing stuff by herself??

Allison is another case like this. She has such good moments when its just her archery and doing stuff by herself or with lydia. S3a shes being herself and shes finding stuff out and still having to deal with ppl sorta dustrusting her bc she was an antagonist at the end of s2 and i think its annoying that they put isaac there as a love interest. Isaac and allison as separate characters or a dynamic?? Amazing. Awesome. But making them so sexual tension wasnt fun bc a. Allison was mainly using isaac as a rebound and b. when she was dying she was just all like scott its been you all along and that fine first love but to isaac??? That shit is painful af like imagine ur being kinda with a girl and then u think ok finally someone loves me finally someone is in the same boat of ppl being distrusting but then she dies and not even a glance? Idk just felt bad. Allison was so close bc when she was on her own she had such good scenes and i wish she had more archery scenes and ones with lydia. It was also like the parallel u couldve gotten with isaac and allison fighting together or smt???? Like with the end of s2 with allison shooting down all of the wherewolves and then s3b and shes fighting WITH them???? Like bro wasted potential.

Malia is just a character a 50 50 chaarcter cuz there is some questionable things she does but shes pretty cool with the whole 8 years coyote thing and with being blunt but idk i think i just am 50 50 on her lol

Lydia is the absolute best bc omfg she had some dating but overall she mostly figured stuff out herself and she had good sideplots with being a banshee and i thought her ajd parrish havibg that weird... smt was not needed but i did like the aspect of before she found out abt her sonar scream she needed to learn how to fight and i think it woldve been cool if they were not freaking tension filled. She was a strong character and they def put everything into her bc holy crap. Idk to me shes a big 10/10 character.

Derek is just freaking annoying man. Like sleeping with the enemy so many times? And he also never has smt besides a family problem or smt abt the person hes sleeping with. I was also kinda annoyed abt how isaac leaving after derek throws the glass never gets resolved. I feel like he also doesnt grow as a character much. Like two seasons hes like my sister died my uncle did it and family fire and my ex is the one who caused most of this and then s3 and its i slept with the enemy and my sisters back somehow after the family fire that my other ex caused and then s4 is braedens season and she was again so cool as a character on her OWN nd then the inly interesting thing was that he needed to learn how to use a gun. And then s5 he was barely there and s6 he was barely there so he didnt have growth i feel like. Not to say he wasnt hella funny at times

They all had good moments though like malias plot abt her mother was interesting (even if i couldnt really follow along) and kiras whole skinwalker thing which i was disapointed abt bc i wanted her to stay for s6.

They also make ALL the female characters be romantic with scott of least ONCE. Lydia kissed him, allison, kira, malia (which i thought was weird that they just, got rid of that in the movie and developed it in like 20 episodes and was rushed as hell) and then allison again. Please give me a character that isnt somehow drawn to scott i beg

your points about omori are so real but i also think the story isnt even that good like the "twist"... like not only does it not really make sense logistically (puts on my cinemasins goggles for a minute) how did two small kids drag an older girl into the woods to hang her without getting noticed and also why even come to that conclusion instead of making it look like more of an accident in the original scene (takes off my cinemasins goggles sorry about that) but i felt like it was kind of cheapened when it wasnt her killing herself. like he still couldve blamed himself for that because he wasnt there for her and didnt notice the signs but its like no he accidentally pushed her down the stairs. (and then framed it as a suicide which Was indeed actually a bad thing to do so yeah man you should feel a little guilty) but that could just be me being an enjoyer of explorations of suicide and its aftermath in stories

Honestly the twist was the only praiseworthy thing i found in the game and even so it wasn't enough to redeem the whole journey to get there imo. I think my opinion happens to be the opposite of yours bc mari comitting suicide would've been too simple, too expected, whileas sunny accidentally causing her death is what explains the guilt that makes him repress his emotions/identity and choose to live in his imagination. Theres 2 main big issues i have with it though, and since you've given me the opportunity I'll rant about it.

If i remember right at the time of her death mari was 15 while sunny/basil were 11 or 12, so i don't think it would be far-fetched for the two to carry her body together, although hanging her from the tree would be difficult. As for no one noticing i think that's actually pretty normal as far as these cases go, you'd be surprised at how many murders happen in broad daylight in suburban areas where there's neighbors walking outside yet no one notices bc they're not looking at someone's backyard to see some guy burying a dead body (if you watch those murder documentaries you'd be surprised at how common these cases tend to be). Basil trying to frame it as suicide is honestly a very very stupid idea, but considering their age and the situation it does make sense since they were panicking and people have 0 braincells when they're panicking.

The main reason i liked this twist though, may be because of how i perceived the scene where we see mari's hanging body and how it had an eye open, i thought it implied mari could be still alive when they hung her, and the uncertainty of it is what wouldve plagued sunnys psyche for the following years. Idk that was what i thought at least, but i don't recall seeing anyone else point out mari possibly still being alive when she was hung, so it may be just me.

Now here's the rant part. The game subtly implies that sunny's parents knew it wasn't a suicide. And by subtly i mean in a HIDDEN ROOM YOU HAVE TO ACCESS THROUGH ALTERING VALUES IN THE GAME FILES instead of, i don't know, in the annoying dragged out black space horror segment? Anyway in that room you see a shadow of what looks to be Sunnys father chopping down the tree and he says "you're no son of mine" or something along those lines (its been a while so i forgot the exact quote). PLUS its kind of obvious maris body wouldve been taken to be analyzed and theyd for sure see the head trauma that caused her death, but since it was accidental and both sunny and basil were minors, it's likely they went unpunished and Sunny's parents covered up with the suicide story so the others wouldn't think of them as murderers.

Why the hell does the game never mention his parents except on the real world? Its shown they divorced after mari died, did sunny not really care about that? Why does his ugly pastel escapism fantasy not have any mention to them? Did he not feel guilty about the grief he caused his parents? WHY IS IT NOT MENTIONED IN THE GAME AND ONLY IN A HIDDEN ROOM

And the second thing is the reasons that caused the incident in first place, it felt like it couldve been explored much more than it was. Like ok i get it, sunny didnt actually want to play violin, his friends thought he did and he was too afraid to disappoint them when they bought him one. But the main thing he mentions he hates about it in his diary is that he needs to practice on saturdays and misses 1 hour of cartoon watching with his friends. Like man. Come on. Priorities i guess? There wasn't any pressure of someone moving away, or someone leaving for college, or anything like it that would explain why sunny needed that 1 hour of cartoon watching with everyone so badly that it emotionally distressed him to that level.

My second complaint is how Mari is treated like a pure saint through all of the game, which was kind of a missed opportunity to have shown that she also was flawed and not always the kind big sister he idealized her to be in his mind (it could've also been shown that the Saint Mari in his brain is due to his guilt, but no, apparently she was just was like that irl too), the only flaw mari had was that she was perfectionist about the piano recital and pressured sunny about it? Like come on man there could've been more here. We could've had accepting mari was a flawed human as a part of sunnys recovery so he can move on from itn but instead mari is just a perfect angel through all of the game who unfortunately was accidentally killed by her younger brother bc she got upset he broke his violin on purpose like any 15 year old would. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

1. These episodes were not as strong or as long as the first 3 but these writers are funny as hell (not sure if it’s intentional or just actually bad writing but it’s enjoyable🤡)

2. I SCARED MY DAMN DOG LAUGHING SO HARD AT THE PUBLIC VOTE…. OF COURSE fusebox found the one way to get our partner stolen without it being our “twins fault”. I think Amelia redeemed herself for me afterwards when they had their cute twin moment though and I’m still picking all the nice options

summary- Being captain of the ship was a job you enjoyed a lot. You didn't mind the busy work, or not being able to go home after a day of work. Though right now you did mind the work because it separated you and Mark. While being captain is a great job, it doesn't come without some dangers, and of course, with your luck danger appears at the worst possible time.

TWs- Major character Injuries (Multiple), NO character death, Minor character injuries, mentions of blood, doesn't go into much detail about injuries, mentions of anesthetic gas, anxiety, mentions of fear ( Nothing major, not detailed.), fainting, angst, hurt/comfort (Literally). Long ( 2,597 words) NO ONE DIES OR WILL DIE.

I wasn't planning on making it as angsty as I did, but I think I'll make up for it in the next chapter and with the hurt/comfort at the end. Also mad this long, about 2,500 words. As your thoughts raged on Gunther stopped in front of the ADS and because you weren’t paying attention you smacked right into him.

With an oof you fell on your ass for the second time that day. Gunther turned to make sure you were okay,

“ You okay there cap’n?” he asked, offering you his hand. You cringed a bit at yourself for falling twice, but nodded.

“ Yeah, uh sorry about that Gunther.” you answered as he pulled you up. Gunther raised his eyebrows before asking,

“ Now cuse me if i’m being rude cap’n, but something on ya mind? Ya seemed a bit distracted.” , you blushed softly, so he hadn't seen what was about to happen. It’s not like it was a bad thing, it wasn't at all. You just thought, you and Mark should talk before anyone else finds out.

“ Oh nothing on my mind, just a bit tired. “ you replied walking into the ADS room. He followed behind you and said,

“ Ah, that happens to us all cap, I was just worried Mark might’ve said something to upset ya.” He put his hand on his hips, “ I don’t think that softy would ever do that though, he has a soft spot for ya cap.”

He started to type on the ADS computer, you were glad he wasn’t looking at you or he would see your surprised reaction.

“ Isn’t he nice to everyone though.” you questioned, your eyebrows furrowed together.

Without looking away or hesitating Gunther answers,

“ Well Mark’s a nice person, but he isn’t always nice ya know. He can get annoyed pretty quick, I remember someone was tryna use his tablet without asking and boy oh boy did he get mad.” He waved a hand around, “ He doesn't really yell at people all that often, but when he does he can be scary at times. It's just he doesn't get annoyed by you or around you. “ He finished typing turning to face you.

“ You remember when Burt accidentally let the reactor heat up too much and he had to go in there to fix it” You nodded, “ Yeah well, if you weren’t there he would've been a real asshole bout it. Not like I blame em, i wouldve been pissed if I had to fix that mess.” he laughed, stepping to the side. You walked up and input your code,

“ I don’t know about the “ does not get annoyed around me" part, I've seen him and CC argue all the time.” you mumbled,

Gunther let out a chuckle, “ That we all have cap’n, but you haven’t seen him actually mad. Probably just wants you to have a good impression of him.” You nodded,

“Yeah, makes sense I guess.” you finished inputting your code, “ Okay, that should do it. If you need me just tell the computer.” He nodded,

“ Will do cap,” The door closed and you started to walk back to the bridge. You knew there was no way Mark would be done yet, but you wanted to be there when he was done.

As you walked into the empty bridge your stomach filled with butterflies. You knew it would only make the most logical sense that he returned your feelings considering what happened, but logic didn’t really play a part in your emotions.

Who would’ve thought the captain of a spaceship, a person who is responsible for the lives of so many people, would get so nervous about almost kissing someone. Well, not someone, Mark wasn’t just someone. He was your best friend and right hand. He was kind and always supported you, never getting annoyed or mad. He was amazing.

You leaned slightly on the monitor watching the door. Depending on how through CC was going to be It could be a while before he got back, and knowing her she would want to be through. You let out a sigh, normally you loved that about her, but right now you just wanted to talk to Mark. You turned to the monitor and did a bit of busy work.

After about an hour you bit your lip and crossed your arms, maybe you should go to cyro and see if he- if they need help.

You nodded to yourself and stood up. He wouldn’t mind right? Yeah of course he wouldn't mind, it’s Mark.

You walked towards the door, looking down at your tablet to see if anyone needed you first. As you walked through the door frame you ran into a stern chest, and for the 3rd time that day started to fall.

Though to your luck, this person reached out and grabbed you before you could fall. Even better than that, was the fact the person you ran into was Mark. You don’t think you’d want anyone to have their arm around your waist like he is.

You both blushed, and as your eyes met you let out a soft laugh. Mark soon joined, pulling you up and grabbing your hand. He led you into the empty bridge.

“ I’m so glad you caught me, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I fell on my ass 3 times in one day.” you said to him, your hand in his. He raised an eyebrow,

“ Wait, 3? When did the second one happen?” he asked letting your hand go and moving towards his locker.You blushed,

“ Well I was walking behind Gunther and I wasn’t paying attention and ran straight into him.” you moved to stand beside Mark, “ And unlike you, he didn’t catch me.” Mark let out a soft chuckle and you lightly hit his shoulder,

“ It's not funny.” You said, he smiled and closed his locker. His hands free of his gloves and gauntlets and his overalls pulled down to his waist, showing off his white turtleneck, which he rolled the sleeves up.

“ I’m sorry captain, but It's just a tiny bit funny.” he said lightheartedly, you joined in laughing with him. As your laughs slowed to a stop you looked up to see a soft smile and blush on Mark’s face.

You got lost in his kind eyes, seeing that glimmer of what you hope to be love is there. You stepped a bit closer to him, so you could take his hand in yours again.

He smiled as you interwided your fingers with his. Both of your hands free of gloves.

“ You are so stunning, Captain. “ Mark complimented, you looked away from him feeling embarrassed. He stepped closer placing a hand on your cheek and gently moving your head to look at him, while saying,

“ no, no, please don’t hide that gorgeous face of yours. Look at me please.” Your eyes met his, you mumbled

“ How could I ever say no to you?” He chuckled lightly before answering,

“ Pretty easily actually. Not that I would want you to.” his features became more serious,

“ I wouldn’t ever want you to do something you didn't like,” he said. You knew what he meant, If you said so he would back off of you. You didn’t want that though, so you placed a hand over the hand that was cradling your face, leaning into his palm.

“ I don’t wanna say no, not to this.” You placed a kiss on his palm, “ Not to you.” Mark pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead,

“ I -” Mark started before the ship jolted and an alarm started. You guys were forced to the floor, Mark twisting so he would take the blow of the fall.

You got off Mark and kneeled next to him, with a worried look asking him,

“ Are you okay?” He nodded, slowly starting to get up. You stood up fully,

“ What’s going on Computer?” you asked, quickly ripping open your locker and slipping on your gloves and jacket as the computer responded,

“ A leak in Cyro, Celcionna is not responding. The leak in Cyro is over chilling the lines to the reactor.” you nodded, Mark finally up, pulling his overalls up. You looked over to Mark,

“ Grab your gloves and wrist computer and meet me at Cyro.” He nodded quickly going over to his locker, as you ran out of the room. Crew members were seen slowly getting up or injured. You frowned, you’d have to help them after you fixed cryo or everyone would be dead.

As you got to cyro you saw mist leaking from under the door, you stood in front of the door and attempted to open it.

“ Keypads frozen over, already called Gunther, Burt’s in the reactor keeping it stable. Keypad on Burts side is frozen as well” You heard Mark’s voice state walking up to you,

“ Is there another way we can open the door quickly?” you asked, Mark nodded and got on one knee opening up the frozen keypad. As he did that Gunther quickly arrived,

“ ADS is stable and working, called medical to start helping people.” You nodded,

“ Thank you, Now both of you when the door is open it's going to send a wave of snow, mist, and cold air our way, so we need to stand to the sides. I’ll go in and start fixing Cyro, Gunther grab CC, Mark go and help Burt keep the reactor stable.” They both nodded, and Mark looked up at you.

“ Ready when you are captain.” You nodded as you 3 stood off to the side. You yelled to the other few crew members to get to the side. When they did you nodded to Mark and he stood up and opened the door.

Burst of snow and wind plowed down the hallway. The cold bit at your face, teeth clenched as you held onto Mark's arm. Once the first gust of wind finished you ran into the room.

It looked like a blizzard in there and as you walked to the main control you spotted CC. She was lying next to the cryo pod. As you ripped open the control center you saw Gunther pick up CC and leave the frozen room. You got to work, the first thing you had to do was limit the CO2 supply, so you could fix the broken tube, which was luckily in the room. As you did that you saw Mark rush to open the door to the reactor, and quickly start helping Burt.

Even with your gloves and jacket on you felt your fingers go numb, you bit your lip. You had to get this done, you limited the CO2 and now you needed to patch the tube. You grabbed the emergency patch kit kept in the room and walked over to the leak. Even with the supply lowered it spurred out ice cold air. Your fingers were so numb they started to hurt, you couldn't feel your face or toes. As you went to grab the tube to steady it, the ship jolted again. Your body was thrusted right above the leak, you screamed and jumped back hitting your head on the control mantel. The cold air burning your neck and chest, You wish you would have closed your jacket. A thumping pain in your head not helping.

Your eyes started to get blurry as you attempted to stand up, you quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen. You crawled over to the leak and got on your knees. You got to work patching the tube, a job much harder with numb fingers and probably a concussion. Though you were able to get the job done.

You let out a sigh of relief when the alarms shut off and the leaked air could no longer be seen, the room temperature rising to normal levels for cryo. You collapsed on your side and hugged yourself. You felt so cold, it hurt so much.

You heard Mark’s voice call out to you, not making out anything other than your name. You gently tried to raise yourself off of the ground, but failed with a groan. Quickly you felt Mark’s gloved hands on your body. You looked at him and found his face stricken with worry and fear as he looked you over. He yelled in panic at Burt to get a medic,

“Captain, can you hear me.” he asked, you nodded your head, immediately regretting your decision.

He gently held your cheeks, a panicked look on his face,

“ Don’t move your head captain, I’m gonna pick you up and get you outta here okay, try not to pass out on me.” he said gently placing his arms under you. You let out a small sound of approval, leaning into his warm body.

He picked you up making sure your head was upright and still as possible on his chest. He walked fast out of the Cyro, your head throbbing you let out a groan. He shussed you softly as he almost ran. As you entered medical, the medics met Mark at the door and started talking to him about something. All you could focus on was your pain and Mark.

Mark gently set you down on a cot as the medics started to do their work, it was all a blur to you. What wasn’t a blur was Mark trying to step back from the cot. With what little strength you had you grabbed his wrist. He looked at you in surprise and you whispered,

“ Please don’t leave me Mark.” tears brimmed your eyes, “ Please… Mark.” He looked at a medic and a quick conversation happened. He gently leaned down next to you as the medics pulled the privacy curtains closed around the cot. He pressed a kiss to your hand,

“ I’m not leaving captain, I promise.” He gently squeezed your hand.

“ I’m gonna be in that chair the entire time, I’m not going anywhere.” he said. You understood most of what he was saying, but held onto his hand.

He pressed a kiss to your forehead,

“ Baby please, The medics have to do their job. I promise on everything I have I will not leave you okay.” he spoke softly,so only you could hear.

You gently released his hand with a small barely a whisper of an “Okay.”

He once again placed a small kiss to your hand before dropping it and moving out of the way of the medics. He stood in front of a chair not too far away from the bed, but not in the way.

The medcis started to ask you things, which most you were able to slur a couple of answers to. Finally they put a mask on you telling you they were putting you under for stitches.

“Sitches?” you thought, why did you need those. Then it dawned on you, your dizziness , your head pain, and the blood patch on Mark’s chest, you had a head wound. You reached out for Mark and he quickly came to your side, holding your hand .

“ Mark, i, uh, i” you couldn’t think properly, but you had to tell him, but the gas was making it hard to think. Mark hushed you once again and said,

“ Save your energy baby, you can tell me when you wake up.” your vision started to go black as you were able to get out these last words,

“Mark… Love” you felt his grip on your hand as your vision went black, you were going to be okay. You knew it, Mark was beside you, and he would always protect you.

- bizly and yakko the night before they recorded this episode were up late thinking about just . goofy scary things for the trickster to do. like what if the floor is lava but REAL. what if his ARMS GOT LONG. shit like that

- BIZLY WAS GETTING EMOTIONAL DURING THE SCENE RIGHT BEFORE ASHE FULLY TURNS INTO THE TRICKSTER. which is HUGE because its a running joke in riptide that bizly never gets emotional during character moments and grizzly is like. the big crybaby about it. polar opposites of the getting emotionally immersed in roleplay spectrum

- grizzly: "i know out of character we had to leave ashe here because it works for the story and also youre a guest and cant stay forever but in character, dakota would NEVER do that willingly. if circumstances were just a little different i think william and vyncent wouldve had to physically drag him out of there" :(

- OVERLORD WAS NOT ORIGINALLY AN ALLIGATOR. HE WAS NOT AN ALLIGATOR FIVE MINUTES BEFORE HE WAS REVEALED . OVERLORD BECAME AN ALLIGATOR THE MOMENT BIZLY SAID ".... i gotta do it"

- yakko: i kinda feel bad that i just one punch deleted the big supervillain thats been hyped up for the whole season

grizzly: no, look. we've been joking for like 5 episodes now about how our characters could never beat an alligator. and we were right!

- QUICK BACKSTORY RECAP BY GRIZZLY. basically verbatim to how hes saying it.

vyncent: is from another world. looked up to an adventuring party. (condi: the important part was the whole "monsters that dont look like monsters" thing)

william: theres a bunch of ghosts spirits monsters in deadwood and he and his friends were investigating them until one day he followed a wisp into a forest and fell down a hole and died and came back as a wisp and now all the monsters and ghouls are out to get him so he had to leave deadwood so his friends and family wouldnt be in danger (charlie: well when you put it like that it sounds so much lamer)

ashe: had a trickster book and the trickster killed his mom. idk why he thought that was a good idea. actually, when you got possessed by the trickster the first time, howd you get him back in the book? (bizly: theres more to that story you guys havent learned yet so im not gonna just tell you. you have to figure that stuff out in character)

- dakota: (from charlie this time) uhh your parents died and you take risks and jump off things and then one day a girl jumped off a thing with you and you grabbed her but then also died like william wisp because we like falling off of things and getting superpowers apparently so you fell off something and got superpowers and then you left the hospital before they coukd tell you anything and you ran into the woods where you met a strange old man that taught you how to fight stuff i guess (grizzly: i never actually wrote what happened to the girl in my backstory. bizly: because you wouldnt KNOW)

- dakota adrenaline junkie........ (grizzly: its worse now because he has powers and he can do all the things he used to and MORE. and SURVIVE)

- they all believe tide was mind controlled from the time he went to talk to whirlwind by himself after they beat him. bizly says he misspoke and described some things wrong, tide wasnt actually mind controlled until they were actually in the building. he kept rolling saves for him and every time he just rolled like garbage so he never broke out of it

- its a 2/3 split on how theyre planning to react to the heroes. vyncent and william are bitter about it because neither of them are used to living in a place with a lot of heroes so they dont know how all of this is supposed to work. theyre angry that the heroes never showed up when they needed them and the one time they actually do come its just MINUTES too late after their friend had to basically sacrifice himself to save them instead. dakota, who grew up in and around the city basically worshipping superheroes, doesnt understand why theyd be so angry.

- the reason overlord knew they were coming is because the gunman from the whirlwind fight got away. he instantly came back to overlord and told him to expect pd soon because they beat whirlwind

essay about the whole mk1 scorpion situation over how kuai liang cant possibly be the new scorpion even tho he has kuai liang's brother, best friend, position in the lin kuei, and face model by stating things that are either personal interpretations instead of facts from the 11 games we've had (and that are easily debunked by said facts btw) or just simply plain wrong. Also the constant denying that mk1 scorpion and sub zero are blood related even thought the game devs cannot make it clearer at this point. AND the implication that kuai liang cannot appear in a story unless bi-han has died. What the fuck do you mean he has to stay "hidden and protected" hes a lin kuei warrior. He's the other son of the grandmaster why would he be low-ranking. HIS BROTHER IS NOW GRANDMASTER WHY WOULD HE STAY LOW RANK WHILE HIS APPARENTLY "ADOPTED" BROTHER SCORPION GETS TO HAVE THE MEANINGFUL NARRATIVE STORYLINE WITH BI-HAN??? WHAT??????

petty dam moment but that first essay was over for me when they kept saying kuai liang started as sub zero in mk3. its mk2 he started and stayed as the definitive sub zero in mk2 thru mk11. thats basic sub zero lore. And it wouldve been fine if it was like a one time mistake but no they kept going. lore is so serious to me you have no idea

this has been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks cuz i was trying to come up with something i havent drawn/talked about before but whatever Lets fucking go even if i repeat shit OK FIRST OF ALL. THE FUCKING SLEEVES. takane post str keeping the ene sleeves bc of sensory issues my beloved <3 i think he rly tries to laugh it off at first kinda like in denial but eventually gives in (or like in that comic i made haruka talks her into it and how its ok a lil bit too)

i also drew this in a harutaka i posted but takane randomly giving static shock to people when they touch them ajdhnsakdjskf <- something having the long sleeves also helps with cuz that way he doesnt have to actually touch anyone. victims of this most often are haruka (by accident) and shintaro (on purpose). also its hair randomly standing up bc. static. this makes no sense ofc but i think its a funny and silly way to translate takane's power in her physical body. the more time he spends as ene the more charged with random electricity its physical body is. RIP harutaka kisses they kinda hurt. u can make the our love is electrifying joke only like 3 times before it becomes annoying. eventually takane thinks haruka becomes immune but in reality he just gets used to it

not so much of a takane headcanon more of a general one but also sort of related. im so fascinated by what saeru must've told haruka and takane's parents. haruka was gonna die anyway so his dad wouldnt be surprised but theres No Body? i think for him he was probably a little gaslighted abt seeing him dead and by how he is described maybe he wouldve been fine with never looking at his son dead+convinced to have a closed casket by his old pal mr tateyama and just buried an empty casket for haruka.

but for takanes grandma its so complicated bc she had no REASON to have takane disappear like that. basically i think saeru gaslights gatekeeps girlbosses so hard like gaslights both’s parents to hell and back but especially takanes grandma bc harukas dad is more or less covered but with all its money and resources it can cover up haruka and takanes disappearances altogether so takanes just. Gone. and this poor womans rly has no answers, no closure, no nothing. takane just vanishes!!! grandma enomoto protagonist when. i think itd be funny if she went full on old woman conspiracy theory mode or just tries to move on with this huge mystery behind. takane and grandma reunion i want to see it. haruka with his dad too tbh im rly curious what theyd tell them and what theyve been told LOL

i think haruka and takane dont go back to their families immediately bc they have no fucking clue what to even say so they stay in the hideout for the time being (would the dan move to the tateyama house post str? i read this in a fic once i think itd make sense and i always go sniff sniff imagining mekatrio+mary saying goodbye to the 107 apt). but for takane it sort of becomes urgent bc um it starts becoming apparent she needs its meds and the dan does NOT have the funds so while haruka can wait it out takane is like forced to go back home. i think at first takane would try to pull thru bc with its powers he can still hang out and stuff but its rather haruka/shintaro/ayano being like UMMMM... YEA U NEED UR MEDS. yuukei quartet visiting enomoto grandma WHEN!!!!!!they go 4 emotional support/help to explain i thinks. i think they wouldve known her back then too cuz in the sixth novel haruka mentions they go to takane's house for ayano's bday party after the gaming event.

Ok here’s my complete opinions on stranger things 4 which no one asked for but I’m going to give anyway (spoilers ahead obvi)

I never thought that one of my favourite things would be the new characters but I really did like all of them I was sad when Chrissy and Fred died, Argyle was fucking hilarious and it was nice to se Jonathan interact with someone who wasn’t Nance and I even liked Jason despite his assholery

Obviously Eddie was also a great addition, very compelling character who had really nice conversations with the others

Plot wise I thought this season was really good, especially the Hawkins group and I thought that the way they played on actual hysteria about DND that was around in the 80s was really clever

The horror this season was also great and genuinely terrifying so props

I will say El’s plot was my least favourite but I tend to prefer characters with other characters so her being solo most the season was a little disappointing

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion but I really did like the California group. Jonathan’s a character who’s at his best when he’s with his family and Will and Mike were well Will and Mike. I will say they were very under-utilised though, like they didn’t even show up in the last episode.

Seeing Suzy back honestly made me so happy for no reason, that whole sequence was just so fun

Lumax were the mvps of the season. Lucas actually getting development and screen time and Max’s plot the entire season but ESPECIALLY episode was wonderful

Also the Kate Bush sequence was the best of the season I think we can all agree

I also really liked Nancy and Robin! They were a fun little duo and I really didn’t expect to enjoy them as much as I did

Joyce, Murray and Hoopers plot was also way more enjoyable than last season so I was very happy about that

Now for things I didn’t like that much!

As mentioned earlier I really wish the California plot line wasn’t so sidelined

As a Byers family enthusiast it is genuinely so annoying to see them being paid dirt despite their impact on the plot most importantly Will who felt like he didn’t do anything this season

I’m really sad they just gave all the lab kids the same powers, like it makes sense but Kalis illusions were so interesting and I just wish it wasn’t all telekinesis

Also the fact that all of them are dead is just ugh idk I know no one liked the kali episode in season 2 but I wish the other kids did something relevant (besides 1 obvi)

My biggest gripe of this season was Steve and Nancy, I genuinely don’t understand the need to reignite the love triangle, let Nancy be happy, let Steve move on and let Jonathan be relevant Jesus

It’s just so tiring at this point, Nancy and Jonathan having problems is fine especially when their problems were caused by Jonathan’s messy past (in general I feel like Lonnie and the Byres situation isn’t paid enough attention but that’s a problem with the whole show, not just this season)

But Steve moved on from Nancy and now he likes her again!? Unless this is a bait and switch I really don’t like it.

Another issue is Billy. Imma be honest I’ve hated Billy since season two but the fact that his abusive and racist behaviour is just not addressed much just bugs me

Like max mentioned it in her letter too him but I feel like the fact that he actually sucked and the complications about that in regards to his death wouldve been really interesting

All in all a solid season, good music, amazing cinematography but just a few issues imo

(put under a readmore cus i ended up talking a LOT lol :) )

i think they could be friends!!! i think stone liked the contestants. while im pretty sure stone picked liam to give the notes to 1) because he is a backpack. he can hold notes. and 2) he seems the MOST stubborn of all of the contestants, so think compared to the chance for things to end well (or at least, the best they COULD end), liam was the best bet to pick thru all possible courses of action

but even outside of that stone generally seems to like them all, helping bryce when he didnt need to, visibly looking guilty for having to sabotage amelia, etc. i think they showed liam one of the notes bc they WANTED him to understand that theyre trying to help, and i think there was a chance hed understand, but he just happened to Not. with everything we know abt stone (which unfortunately isnt much), he looks like he WANTS to help them because he cares, and i think they wouldve liked to be friends with them, and to have met all of them under better circumstances. (he obv knows about the concept of friends because he knows everything, but i think they dont really get many opportunities to meet New people given. being from a world of Just rocks) point is that i think stone would love to be friends w liam!!

whether or not LIAM would wanna b friends is a diff question tho. liam doesnt seem like the type of guy whod necessarily hold anything against stone, since he gradually seems to respect stone more and more as he follows the notes, but i think there Could be some discomfort there. if stone hadnt written the notes, he never wouldve gone to bryce, he never wouldve died a bunch more times, and he never wouldve gotten stuck in airys world. but then again, if they hadnt written them, if airy had still died, all of the contestants couldve been trapped on the plane literally forever, and julien wouldve been stuck in the waiting room forever

i think liam would still think about stone pretty fondly, and historically he hasnt really been concerned about 'people who could remind him of his time on the plane, but 'well this person reminds me of my time on the plane' given everything with bryce, but during all that he was still very much. not in the mentality of being at home. (after he got home, he seems to REALLY still feel stuck on the plane, esp if what he says to bryce is anything to go off of) it could be very different once hes home, and because? i think stone ended up kinda STILL being with him thru s2, just symbolically. so i think it could be complicated for liam

but all of this aside? i think any discomfort he may feel would maybe be set to the side. liams pretty passive by nature, and i think being able to be friends with stone would actually kinda end up giving him a sense of closure about some things!!! most of his interactions with stone WERE somewhat strained, but i think liam wouldnt rly even think abt that

i dunno!!! but i think theyd make good friends if they had the opportunity to meet again. liam makes conversation pretty easy when he wants to, even though its not smth he especially goes out of his way to do, but i think when he would like to he can be VERY annoying abt it. if he wanted some level of Knowing stone, because i think it could be Nice to have stone be less of this ominous figure whos motives werent super clear but did ultimately help (assuming in this hypothetical he and stone meet again on earth, but i think in airys world stone could be. actually pretty nice for him to meet again? dont know!) and instead this Person who helped him and his friends, he would be a bit stubborn about it, and maybe a bit awkward about it, but i think stone would be okay with it. stone seems very 'reluctantly WILL do things for the greater good but would like to do helpful things that DONT make people upset instead. wants to just get along with people but just ISNT in a situation where they can' and also generally patient (i think they have to be patient given the world theyre from) so i think itd work out!!!!

anyway this post is long and idrk how clear it is BUT its fun to think abt!!!! idk how liam would get the chance to meet stone again but i would LOVE if it did happen

#hfjone #ask #i actually sometimes consider the idea of all of the stones in stones world functioning as a hivemind #and stone being teleported out didnt so much as sever that but that if this was the case maybe? he still had the information they always wi #but made them smth of an offshoot of the hivemind but not separated from it. like a new mushroom #and i think that would make stone have a complex idea of having friends but thats an inherently very interconnected existence #but thats not really relevant to this post #well it kinda is but not super relevant #also sidenote that i was somewhat confused for a while on why stone is so big compared to the rocks in their world #but also batch 2 commenting on some of them being larger than they are in their own world implies that being sent to the plane #kinda like. scales ppl?#and also gives them a general form that may be a bit divorced from what they look like in their own world #like w texty being outside of their 'body' (aka laptop)#so i think. stone on earth? might be a bit tiny. w no limbs #since the stones in his world dont have any. and also i think the eyes r figurative and they dont literally have them #whenn the flashlight shows all of them??#so stone might literally just end up looking like a random rock if they were on earth #but i gotta think abt that more #ok im getting off track #TY for the ask i love an opportunity to talk abt stone i wish we knew more abt him #for a while stone was my 2nd fav!!! now its amelia (who had been 3rd) but stone is STILL means so much to me
