IT’S DONE

i’ve been working on this nonstop since RWD s3 ep8 dropped and i got to this scene (time stamp is 1:56:00) (i took liberties with the dialogue but y’know). i started working on it while finishing the episode so That Thing That Happened Later in Limbo happened right when i was already screaming at myself over posing/anatomy/perspective/all that technical stuff. devastating.

i would’ve had this done probably yesterday but i made a custom brush for the very first time for the beetle swarm and that took me an ENTIRE AFTERNOON so lol

i do not do a lot of digital art so the sheer number of things i learned doing this ONE comic page is...a lot. gratifying but also exhausting

anyway way back in s1 ep1 i didn’t think dani would be my favorite but she just keeps coming in clutch in just about every situation. dani supremacy

Imagine if I wrote a short story and posted it online free for anyone to read and then someone commented that something in my story made them figure out a good strategy for working past a difficulty they were having in their own story, and I said, “Uhm. I didn’t consent for you to learn off of my art.”

And then, of course, the logical next step is to sue for ownership of the story they wrote with inspiration from mine.

(I looked into how this works extensively. AI art does not “copy” art; it simply learns things about shapes and styles from preexisting art. It’s more rudimentary, but functionally no different from an art student studying paintings that other people have done to figure out how to make hands or something. And if you respond to this post saying that’s not what’s happening, then I’ll know you’ve done zero research into this and don’t know how it works.)

if you’re in the US and have any democratic federal representatives, it might be a good idea to call them and either (if they’re in the Senate) thank them for passing the Inflation Reduction Act or (if they’re in the House) ask them to please pass it

the bill includes (in no particular order):

- a price on methane

- funding for climate resiliency for e.g. at-risk coastal communities

- job transition $$

- renewable energy $$

- other stuff idk i forget but it would be the biggest climate bill the US has ever passed (~$369 billion), and that momentum is desperately needed

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
